I open my eyes. To my surprise, lies a raccoon by my bedside: on all fours, by rummaged nightstands and drawers! I surmise that she entered through my open door. Yet I give salutations, acknowledging that the absurd is commonplace amidst our ever-changing lives.

Currently think about how the New Blood group parallels the Old Strike Team-

Like-

Both groups founded during a global Crisis, all of them being heavily experienced fighters.

A fiercely loyal tank who has some survivors guilt along with some self sacrificial tendencies (Zarya and Reinhardt)

A character associated with the organisation that is causing the crisis and has a lot of guilt in helping said organisation (Baptiste and Torbjörn)

The youngest person on the team being a leader type, one of the best soldiers in they're previous team and taking too much responsibility (D.VA and Solider 76)

A character with history in law enforcement who is trying to change systems they know aren't helping and are also incredibly loyal to the people they care about, stubborn in they're beliefs and are often a bit hostile when those morals are challenged (Pharah and Reaper)

The eldest character who has a shit tone of both field and life experience, often being considered the best in they're area of expertise while also being very non-serious about cirtain situations. Who also hold a lot of guilt about they're impact on the world (Cassidy and Ana)

Now that is to say I only see this as them paralleling the characters themselves, not the characters relationships. Idk why I felt the need to specify that.

But anyway I found it interesting.

whats the most shallow thing you've seen someone find depth in?

i don't really agree with the premises of this question (i think you can make worthwhile and interesting analysis of the back of a cereal packet if you are so inclined) -- but it does drive me up the wall when people will make an intricate and interesting and artistically valuable reading of a media object and then give all the credit to the object instead of themselves! what you get out of art is a two-way street innit [insert oblitatory reference to the one ad reinhardt comic here]

Overwatch 2: Invasion: Lore Compilation - Brigitte

Next is one of my personal favorite characters and fellow member of the 99th percentile height chart club, Brigitte! It's so nice to get a little taste of her character outside of just talking about Reinhardt and Torbjorn (although she still does a lot of that, lol)

Also, I LOVE her poetry - it feels so authentically beginner, without being comically bad like I thought it might be. I don't know why they made the decision with OW2 to make Brigitte a writer, but I absolutely LOVE it, and I hope they continue to expand on it.

I like the mention of her building a bigger shield, too - in the PVE missions, when she uses Rally, her shield doesn't get bigger like it does in PVP, implying timeline-wise that it's a relatively recent invention of hers.

OH AND SOMBRA ACCESSING THE FILES TO READ BRIG'S POETRY IN REFERENCE TO THAT ONE INTERACTION THEY HAVE. Sombra is Brigitte's dedicated flamer

Can you do one where the reader just adopted a maine coon cat and spesificly one of the big ones that is very affectionate and fluffy, and what the other characters reaction would be to coming to visit and seeing that cat lol, or multiple cats, like 3 (romantic: reaper, lucio, junkrat, zenyatta, reinhardt)

Reaper

He's honestly a big fan of cats

So when he comes to your house and sees that giant cat he's intrigued

He's surprisingly gentle when he's holding your cat

It's also extremely big when Reaper holds it which makes it hilarious to watch

Lucio

This cat is adorably big whenever Lucio tries to hold it

But that doesn't mean that Lucio isn't going to try to hold it all the time

If your cat is super affectionate it only encourages Lucio to love on it more which most likely means that he's going to either mush his face into the cat's fur or try to hold it and either thing is adorable

Junkrat

He's such a cat person

But unlike Lucio, he's pretty tall so the cat looks almost normal when he holds it

Your cat is almost always perched on his shoulder like he's some super villain

But with his adorable smile its hard to call him a villain

Zenyatta

He's really gentle and honestly quite enjoys cats

He is pretty small so whenever your cat sits on his lap it looks comically big

And if your cat is super affectionate then it's so cute whenever it cuddles Zen

Whenever Zen holds your cat it's super sweet to see and honestly, he's one of the best cat sitters because for some reason every cat loves him

Reinhardt

He's always had an extra soft spot for cats especially big cats

Honestly even a Maine coon cat looks small whenever Reinhardt holds it

He also absolutely spoils your cat with cuddles and toys that he buys sporadically

General Lore of Halloween Terrors

Now before I get into the characters of Halloween Terrors let's start off with the general lore around the world of Halloween Terrors.

First off, what is the story?

Well the world of Halloween Terrors was initially a story told by Reinhardt during a Halloween party, in an effort to show up Cassidy's werewolf story;

(Side note: I love this comic)

However, considering how the story has progressed, I don't think that is just the case anymore. I think at this point the Halloween Terrors Universe is on the same playing field as Starwatch, that meaning I believe it is it's own separate universe.

Now what is the general backstory of this universe? Well let's start off with a few foot notes.

Before the events of Junkenstein there was a war, a war that The Gunslinger and The Solider talk about in voice lines, no other character mentions this war so it can be assumed that this war only happened in America.

The world and countries of this world are exactly the same as our own, at least existence wise. There are no renaming's of any countries.

There is no question in this universe on whether or not magic is real, magic is defiantly real. However, alchemy and divine channelling are not considered magic. Alchemy is considered science and divine channelling is considered a separate thing from magic.

It's not just Halloween monsters that are real in this universe but fantasy creatures as well, such as dragons.

Now with that out of the way let's get into the surface level story of Halloween Terrors.

The first event is Junkensteins Revenge, after being scorned and insulted by the king Dr. Junkenstein tries to prove him and everyone wrong by creating life. With body parts he acquired from The Butcher, he created his monster. However bringing it to life was proving to fail time and time again.

Until The Witch of the Wilds saw potential in him and gave him a magic crystal in exchange for his service to her;

After that Junkenstein's Monster was given life;

However as a reaction to this rampage Four Heroes appeared, The Gunslinger, The Archer, The Alchemist and The Solider. Together they banded together and put a stop the Junkenstein, his monster, The Witch and her minion The Reaper.

There was peace for a time...

But the Witch was not done, she herself wanted revenge and so she plunged Adlersbrunn into an eternal night;

Now initially four more heroes were called to aid, The Countess, The Viking, The Monk and The Swordsman. However, they were not enough as several other heroes ended up joining the fray. The Will-o'-the-wisp, The Outlaw, The Shield-maiden, The Renegade, along with the return of The Gunslinger and The Solider.

Eventually The Witch and her minions were defeated again and peace was restored.

Until Wrath of the Bride.

The Bride attacks Adlersbrunn and kidnaps the king, the only people to stop her? The Sleuth, The Outlaw, The Fortune-Teller and The Butcher.

Now I can't actually explain much about the story of The Bride without getting into theory territory and that's for another post.

After defeating The Brides allies and eventually The Bride herself, Adlersbrunn is once again at peace.

....But for how long?
