The triforce of courage is just that: a thing that gives you courage. Courage is generally understood to be a trait that allows you to forge on even when you’re scared. This is really useful if you’re going on an adventure and will have to go through with stuff that no logical human would be able to.

Jumping below the clouds to face an unknown world that your best friend was sucked into and possibly died in, facing deadly and evil laser-spiders, deciding to not panic and instead just figure it out when you’re thrust into a body you have no idea how to use, going out on the battlefield to display yourself and show off your skills to boost soldiers’ morale and assist in the war when the entire problem was caused by you being awesome in the first place, etc.

Basically, if you want to be a hero, it is almost entirely necessary for you to have the triforce of courage.

“Almost“ being the operative word, because the hero in WW did Not have the triforce of courage. He was just some dude who decided to save his sister and got roped into it. This begs the question, if he didn’t have the triforce courage, how did he manage it?

The setting was really his savior, in the situation. When you’re out at sea, fresh water might not last long — it would often “become tainted by green scum and slime” — and if you run out of it, it is very hard to come by because even if you’re stealing it from other people, you’re still in the middle of the ocean and your victims didn’t have much fresh water either. To solve this problem, or at least ignore it, sailors would add some alcohol to old water to improve the taste, or just drink rum because it was cheap.

But how did this help Link? Well, it turns out that alcohol dulls your sense of self preservation and your logical decision making, which would give him the same stubborn and fearless mindset that the triforce of courage would provide, except now he doesn’t have logical reasoning. He was a child, and didn’t have much anyway, however, so it turned out about the same.

What I’m saying here is that, in Wind Waker, link was drunk the whole time and probably continued to be for a while after, and this was the reason why he was able to be a hero. Which is sad because he was a child so now his brain is probably not gonna function correctly throughout adulthood, but kinda funny anyway.

It’s done! Yay! 3 days of work later, but super worth it!

Now- what is going on?? Well. Like the previous post, this comic takes place in a timeline in which the Lamb decides to willingly return the crown, resulting in their demise, yet find themselves brought back to life shortly after by the god of death himself. Why did he do it? What is he planning? What could he possibly need the lamb for? Why won’t he let them rest?

Hopefully all these questions will be answered in further updates (definitely simpler than this comic) but I’ll gladly take asks if anyone’s curious =v=

Sadly I still don’t have a name for the au—but hopefully I’ll settle for something soon! In the meantime I’ll just tag it as “vows to ash au” or smt like that. Until then!
