#This is a very generous interpretation of him

Just throwing this out there because even though dot and bubble has only just come out so people haven't had a chance to properly think it through yet, I have seen some general ambiguity for some people in this episode about what specific kind of discrimination is being shown at the end.
It is racism and this is not a thing that is that ambiguous. The unleashed episode clarifies this but it's also very very clear if you see their initial reactions to the doctor and ruby. This is not ableist, homophobia or classism. This is racism. It's also why the doctor gets the big acting moment not ruby. It's targeting him explicitly.
While I'm all for talking about intersectionalism and having multiple interpretations, I think it's kinda important that we focus in on the fact this is a story explicitly about white supremacy and racism

A detail I don't see mentioned about the confrontation between Blitzø and Stolas is that while Blitzø is understandably angry and lashing out, he also ends his rant with an invitation to Stolas, imploring, no, demanding he meet him at his level, to get as angry as he is, to FIGHT HIM, right then and there.
We've seen frequently that imps are violent in general, they're originally native to Wrath, and we see that most of their bonding rituals often involve violence and/or bodily harm (just look at how much Millie and Sallie May messed each other up at the end and while being able to laugh about it; a broken bottle fight and broken bones is their version of a light-hearted pillow fight)
While Blitzø is also very self-destructive, even by Hell's standards, it should be noted that he's technically begging for Stolas to connect with him in this moment, to speak a language he understands. "At least respect me enough to fight me! If you care, why walk away? Get real with me, if we can't get physical with our genitals, then at least let us get physical with our fists!"
Unfortunately, Stolas has had the exact opposite cultural upbringing, having been taught his whole life that emotional outbursts are unseemly and improper, so his main go-to for conflicts is avoidance. He avoided confrontation with his father, he basically avoided Stella as much as he could even when she was openly shitting on him at parties; and ONLY just recently has he managed to stand up for himself and when he finally does, it's not to strike back, but simply stand his ground for once, emboldened his new-found love for Blitzø and the knowledge that his daughter isn't fooled by the act anymore and will soon be of age anyway.
It is not currently in Stolas' nature to be confrontational the way Blitzø desperately needs him to be.
Blitzø says: "Please, if you ever actually cared, you'd fight for us Get mad, show me that you care!"
What Stolas hears is just the most literal interpretation with zero subtext, because he isn't attuned to the subtleties of arguing and especially not what it looks like for imps, i.e. he focuses on the "I always hated you" interpretation.
Both gave the other an opening, but only heard dismissal, because it wasn't spoken in a language they were familiar with.
I'm not saying either handled things well here, Blitzø shouldn't immediately respond with anger and Stolas shouldn't default to walking away, that's my whole point.
I just thought it was an interesting angle that their differences aren't just societal (privilege/wealth/respect) but also cultural in how it influences how they each handle emotional confrontation, or, in the case of Stolas, how they don't.

Many thanks to @jorichsworld for this submit so I can post a reading today
BRF Reading - 1st of June, 2024
This is speculation only
Cards drawn on the 1st of June, 2024
Question: Is King Charles helping Harry behind the scenes?
Tumblr media
Interpretation: Yes.
Card One: The Ace of Pentacles
This is a card of new opportunities for gaining money and/or financial status. It is a card of abundance, security, and prosperity. It can also represent an earth sign child or baby.
As the representation of an earth sign child, this refers to Harry, who is the Virgo (earth sign) child of The King.
As a card of new opportunities, the Ace of Pentacles indicates that The King is helping his earth sign child (Harry) in the areas of money, status, and other material things. This help may be in the form of giving things to Harry, e.g. money, or it may be in the form of not taking action that would deprive Harry of opportunities, e.g. not removing him from the website, not removing his titles, allowing him to visit charities that are associated with other royals, etc. One form is active and one is passive, but both allow Harry opportunities to grow his finances, assets, and other material wealth. The King may be giving Harry one or the other form of help, or both of them.
The energy from this card says very clearly that The King is helping Harry with material things (money, titles, security) behind the scenes.
Card Two: The Queen of Swords in Reverse
The Queen of Swords can be an air sign person, particularly a Libra, or it can be a general attitude towards things. I'm not getting a huge amount of person energy from this card, so I am going to take it as the attitude The King has towards providing those Ace of Pentacles opportunities for Harry.
The Queen of Swords upright is someone that sees to the heart of things, someone who is principled and objective, perhaps too much so as she can be very stern, someone who considers all the facts and makes decisions without any emotional influence.
In the reverse, this is not happening. The King is allowing his decisions with respect to Harry to be clouded and influenced by his feelings. He is not seeing things clearly and he is not thinking objectively. His decisions are made based on emotion and not on logic. This is reflected in the previous card, the Ace of Pentacles, where we see Poseidon, the god of the oceans, rising out of the water clutching a large pentacle, with water representing the emotional realm in tarot. So The King is definitely making decisions about Harry based on emotion and not on logic.
Swords in general is the suit of thinking and strategy. This card in reverse says that it is bad strategy for The King to be making decisions about Harry based on his heart and not on his head. He needs to be more objective in assessing the situation of his younger son and in deciding what help, if any, he will give to Harry.
Card Three: The Knight of Pentacles
This is the court card for an earth sign person, particularly a Virgo. As such it represents Harry. Coming in this position it confirms that the attitude of the Queen of Swords in reverse is about Harry, and the help being given by the Ace of Pentacles is about Harry.
In general, Knight are action cards, and the Knight of Pentacles is the slowest of the Knights. It has a 'sure but steady' energy to it. This tells me that The King's support of Harry is not fast, but slow. He may be paying Harry money, but it will be a small (to him) sum on a regular basis, to act as a security cushion of money, something Harry can always rely on. We have seen how slow the changes to the website are, and while there is talk of removing the titles, action has yet to be taken on this. The King is providing a security blanket for Harry, something that Harry knows will always be there, something that he can always fall back onto and use.
Underlying Energy: The Eight of Swords in Reverse
This is the reason why The King is acting in this way, the energy underlying his behind the scenes support of his son. The Eight of Swords upright is a card of being stressed and trapped, either in a physical situation or by how you see the situation (usually the latter - mental stress). When the card is reversed, the stress is gone. You have seen a way out of the situation and you can follow it to free yourself from the (usually mental) trap.
The energy of this card is of relief, pure and simple. It is an energy of 'thank goodness I can do this' and 'now I don't have to worry about him'. The King is supporting Harry behind the scenes because it is the path that causes him the least stress. He is taking the easy way of doing things to remove the mental stress/concern that he feels when he thinks about his youngest son. He is making things easy for himself, and that is also an energy that is coming from the card - doing things this way because it is the easy solution and provides immediate relief from stress.
Conclusion:
The King is helping Harry behind the scenes. He is doing this because he is stressed and worried about his son, and providing him with behind the scenes help is the easiest way to alleviate that concern and stress. He is making these decisions based on his emotions. He is not seeing Harry and his situation clearly and he is not responding to that situation logically. There are indications that this is a bad strategic move on the part of The King.
The actual help provided by The King is about opportunities or new beginning in the area of Pentacles, the material realm, so things like money, titles, status, security, stability. The King may be helping passively or actively in this area, but he is definitely doing something/s to help Harry behind the scenes.

Disdain, or Desire? - [Diluc Ragnvindr] GN
Tumblr media
blurb:
Interpreting the Wine Master's unblinking stares and impassive features as a form of distain, you're in for a pleasurable surprise after the meddling of a few friends.
Tumblr media
cw: not edited, second-person-pov, [name] is an outlander but not traveller, you have a rip off paimon companion too, probably OOC diluc, not explicit but very spicy, 16+ suggestiveness
| masterlist | genshin impact collection |
[3.0k]
Tumblr media
You had been residing in Mondstadt for a few months now, keeping a close line of contact with Lumine after she left to travel the rest of Teyvat. You'd decided to help clean up the mess after the whole 'Stormterror' incident, the abyss order still being heavily active on Mondstadt soil.
Although Lumine continued to travel, your own floaty mushroom companion, Kiko, continued to keep you company.
"Hey, Adelinde?" You approache from the road to Dawn Winery, a balloon crate following behind you, "I managed to find the supplies you needed. The merchant got chased off by some hilichurls, but he's safe now, just shaken. Um, where should I put it...?"
The head maid brightens up at the sight of you, "Outlander! Oh, thank you. Just leave it up in front of the manor, myself and a few others will get the rest sorted out. Thank you so much for your help!"
"Oh, no problem!" You wave her off as she leaves to get you the commision reward.
"Ooh, do you think she'll give us some primogems...?" Kiko wonders softly, floating by your shoulder.
You shrug with a light smile, leading the crates up the path towards the front of the manor, "I don't know, but Adelinde is very generous."
The balloon crate nearly nicks some of the grapevines in the vineyard, causing the two of you to panic. You use every ounce of your strength to shove the floating crate back on path, guiding it by hand as it no longer holds your trust.
You huff once the crate is sat down by the front door, leaning against the manor wall, "...archons, I hate those things."
The hair on the back of your neck stands up suddenly, and you gradually blink away your exhaustion.
"Hm? Oh," Kiko perks up, "hi, Master Diluc!" He waves towards the man stood by a few barrels after chatting to a butler.
The red haired male nods towards the blue fairy, eyes soon drawn towards the outlander. You immediately straighten at the name, turning around with warm cheeks. Diluc's hard gaze bores into your figure, causing you to shiver.
You gulp nervously.
"Uh, good morning, Master Diluc," You give him a shaky wave.
The male simply nods back, firm eyes remaining trained on your form without a single word leaving his mouth.
Perhaps he's mad you almost demolished a row of his grapevines...
Your eyes dart around, body almost quivering under the intensity of his gaze.
You send him a forced—albeit sheepish—smile before quickly bolting away, forgetting about waiting for the reward.
Kiko is left scrambling after you.
"Hu—hey! W-Wait..!"
Diluc's eyes soften as he watches you rush off elsewhere, a wave of disappointment washing over him, though his face remains indifferent.
Adelinde walks up with a generous sized pouch full of both mora and primogems, looking around before a confused frown makes its way into her face.
"Master Diluc?" She turns to the man, "have you seen the outlander? I thought they were here just a minute ago..."
Diluc hums, "I believe they were in a hurry," he holds out a hand for the bag, "I'll take those. I'll be sure to give these to them later on."
"Ah, of course, sir," Adelinde hands him the rewards bag with a nod before walking back to where she had come from, continuing with her duties.
Diluc glances at the rewards, brows furrowed in thought.
Tumblr media
"Kiko, he hates me—he hates me, I know it."
"He doesn't hate you," Kiko deadpans for the fifteenth time since they left Dawn Winery, "trust me, if he hated you like he hates Kaeya, we'd know."
"He hates me," You conclude, Kiko facepalming in the back, "why else does he just...stare? He must be so revolted by my presence that it's all he can do, oh archons—Kiko, what did I do?!"
You walk through the gates, entering Mondstadt city.
"He doesn't hate you!"
"But he looks so angryyyy..!" Comical tears slide down your cheeks as you whine, "Lumine talks to him all the time and he doesn't act like that! What's wrong with meeeee?"
"Oh, don't be that way. I, for one, think you're wonderful just how you are~" A sultry voice intervenes from behind.
Kiko whips around, startled.
"It's cyclops!"
"Captain Kaeya," The two you pay no mind to Kiko's outburst, you putting a momentary halt on your whining, "are you patrolling around here?"
"Actually, I'm on break. I just finished a whole stack of paperwork and decided to take a nice stroll around Mondstadt, and then I ran into you," Kaeya grins, "seems like my luck's turning up, hm? Also, how many times have I told you? Just Kaeya is fine."
"Oh, right. Sorry, Capta—uh, Kaeya..." You flush slightly, causing him to chuckle.
"Always so polite, aren't you, outlander?" The blue haired male chuckles, "now, what was it I heard you worrying about before I appeared?"
"[name] thinks your brother hates them." Kiko blurts out.
"Kiko, I'm gonna put a goddamn filter over your mouth-"
"Hating you? My brother?" Kaeya lets out a boisterous laugh, head thrown back as if it were the funniest he'd ever heard in his life, "certainly not! Me? Perhaps, but hating you? I've never heard such a thing. Especially Diluc."
"B-But he doesn't even talk to me anymore!" You fret, "ever since the vigilante thing he just... looks at me! I must've gotten in his way or something because he still talks to Lumine all the time! Maybe it was something I'd said? Was it because I forgot to tell him I was catching crystalflies at the winery? I didn't break anything then, did I? I made sure not to mess up the vineyard..."
"Oh, [name], our dear outlander," Kaeya tuts, wrapping an arm around your shoulders, "you worry too much! Have you finished your commissions for the day?"
He waits until he receives an affirmative nod, "Wonderful! How about a trip to the tavern then? To take your mind off things? My treat~"
"Oh, uh, I don't think—"
Yeah, it wasn't an offer.
You didn't have a choice.
And so there you sat later that evening, practically sweating bullets and quivering in your seat at the two red eyes burning holes into your soul.
Kiko sat on the table in front of you, a small glass of apple cider in his hands as he kicks his feet back and forth happily.
Kaeya sat beside you to the left, with sister Rosaria sitting on the opposite side.
Lumine had actually come in for the night as well and sat to your right, Paimon and Kiko chattering away whilst Kaeya, Rosaria and Lumine engaged in civil conversation.
From the corner of your eye, you could spy Diluc eyeing you down disdainfully from the bar. A near whimper escapes you as you slink down into your seat, nerves gripping at your chest and throat.
"[name]?" Lumine looks at you in concern, "are you alright?"
Glancing off to the side and seeing the bar owner preoccupied with another customer, you take the chance to whisper frantically at her.
"Lumine, I'm absolutely scared out of my wits—Master Diluc hates me and wants me out of this goddamn tavern but I'm terrified that if I do much as breath he'll take the chance and kick me out himself and kill me—"
"What?" Lumine blinks, confusion evident on her features, "wait, what are you talking about?"
"Lumine, he hates me!" You whisper shout, sitting up in your seat, "he always stares at me, ever since the dark night thing he's lowkey avoided me but now I'm pretty sure he'd stab me—look! Oh my archons, he's still staring."
You immediately freeze in your seat, shoulders tense and throat tight.
Diluc's hardened gaze has returned once more.
Lumine glances over her shoulder at the man before letting out a hushed laugh.
"[name], I think you've misunderstood something here—"
"Misunderstood what?!" Your mouth barely moves due from the fear, "he still talks to you! There's nothing to misunderstand!"
Lumine snorts.
"Well, do you know what we talk about?" A cheeky glint appears in her eyes as she glances between her friend's frozen figure and the nonchalant male cleaning the bar counter, "my archons, you are oblivious."
"What? What?"
You snap your head towards her in offense.
Kaeya and Rosaria's conversation had ceased, looks of bemusement plastered on their faces.
"Oh, come on, [name]. You're brighter than that," Rosaria huffs out a laugh, raising her glass to her lips.
"Wha—I'm not stupid," You glare at her, afterwards crossing your arms with a frown.
"You guys are playing down my fear because you know it's true."
"As if!" Paimon spits out, Kiko cackling beside her, somehow drunk on the apple cider, "literally everyone can see it except you! Even Paimon figured it out! Master Diluc's never like this with anyone."
"That's what I told them," Kiko hiccups, "and they still don't believe me. You wonder why Dawn Winery's commissions are so generous..."
You blink, "Huh?"
"You know what, if you don't talk to him, I will for you."
Lumine suddenly stands up and starts towards the bar.
You promptly panic.
"Whoa—WHA- a-ahem! Lumine! Lumine! What do you think you're doing?! Oh gods..."
You nearly topple over the chair at the sight of Lumine talking to Diluc.
"Oh, would you look at that," Kaeya suddenly whistles, "it's getting rather late, and I'm on patrol early tomorrow morning. I'll see you next time, then."
He grins mischievously, getting up from his seat and leisurely making his way towards the door.
Rosaria stands up next, "Mm, shame we had to do this for you. Though you'd never get the guts otherwise. Don't think we don't know about your little crush on him."
She knocks back the last of her wine.
You flush, reeling back, "UM!? I-It doesn't matter anyway!"
You hiss out, "He hates me—hey! No, wait, please don't leave!"
You're honestly in near tears in panic.
Rosaria stops in place, giving you an indifferent look before huffing, leaning down and patting you on the head roughly before finally leaving.
"You'll be fine."
You slump down in your seat, defeated. Glancing around the tavern quickly, you notice that the scarce number patrons left are either stumbling outside drunk or dead asleep--the remaining of which were situated upstairs.
You give a pitiful look to Kiko, who almost caves in.
"Nope! Nu-uh!" Paimon flies between you two, "not on Paimon's watch!"
She grabs her floaty mushroom friend before spinning and glittering out of the tavern. You shrink in your seat, noticing that Lumine finished up the conversation with Diluc and was making one last round at your table.
She places a hand on your shoulder and gives you a reassuring squeeze.
"You'll survive," She grins.
You narrow your eyes at her spitefully.
"Bet."
She giggles, "Trust me, you'll be thanking me soon," she heads off towards the door, waving with a gleeful smile before disappearing from sight.
The clothes on your shoulders feel heavy all of a sudden, forcing you to curl in on yourself as your nerves play up. You glance towards the bar—where Diluc's firm gaze continues to burn into your figure, and you whimper under your breath.
You avert your attention to your hands, though the feeling of being watched never dissipates. You grip your still full glass of grape juice anxiously, much too nervous to drink any of it for fear of somehow angering the bar owner any more than you already have.
You risk one last glance towards him.
He stands few feet behind you.
'Fuck.'
Your mind jumbles and scrambles for anything and absolutely nothing at the same time, panic causing your heart to race.
A shadow covers you from the right, and your throat closes up with a squeak.
Diluc looms over you with harsh red orbs and an indifferent look, brows furrowed ever so slightly. He spares a glance towards your untouched glass of grape juice before leaning down towards you.
You tense at the motion, eyes wide in fright as your anxiety and stress spike. You refrain from flinching as a light thud is resounded from the table.
You swallow slightly and look forwards.
You blink twice.
In front of you sits a decent sized rewards pouch, the draw string loose and slightly opened revealing it's contents of mora and primogems.
You nearly jump when a deep voice resonates from beside you.
"You forgot your reward earlier today by the Winery. Neither Adelinde nor I had the time to properly thank you for your efforts."
Your knee bounces at the sound of his voice, feeling jittery.
Your eyes dart around, looking anywhere but at the man beside you.
"Oh, u-um... don't even, uh, don't worry about it..." Your voice is shaky, and oddly quiet.
You take in a sharp breath, staring down the glass in your hands just as Diluc does to you.
It's silent for a few seconds, though it feels like years.
"[name]," You nearly shatter the glass in your grip.
The call of your name is a command, a command to look at the one whom had spoken it. Slowly, your eyes lift, trailing up the body of the one who glares you down constantly.
The one who's eyes bore searing holes into your back.
The one who you feared absolutely hated you.
The one who you stupidly fell for, and were still enraptured with, for all this this time.
Eventually, your eyes meet.
Archons, you've never wanted to run so much in your entire life.
And you hate running.
It took every ounce of your entire being not to look away again, and not to fucking book it out of that stupid tavern door.
You let out a shaky breath through your nose, body tense and mind rushing.
Diluc's eyes grow half lidded, gaze uncharacteristically tender as his eyebrows furrow in wonder.
He tilts his head slightly, "What is it exactly, that you think I'm going to do to you, hm?"
A light, barely noticeable, flush rests on his fair cheeks.
Your stomach tightens in knots when you refrain from letting out an anxious shriek.
What the hell do you say to that?
'Kill me?' No. 'Hurt me?' No. 'Best case scenario, forever ban me from your vicinity?' Maybe. 'Possibly unalive me in which after my remains are never to be found?'
What the fuck, no.
Instead, your mouth opens and closes ever so slightly, unable to form any sort of response. Diluc hums lowly, stepping towards you until he's able to rest his hand on the table. You hate how your face warms at the proximity--he's not even that close!
You flinch and go to lean back, but Diluc catches your chin with his forefinger and thumb, bringing you closer to him.
Okay, now you can freak the fuck out.
He feels you tremble and gulp.
His breath touches your skin.
His next question causes your wits to go haywire, "Why is it that you avoid me so?"
You swear you were on the verge of embarrassed tears. Your voice wavers.
"...B-Because you hate me...?" Your already quiet tone grows even quieter as you trail off.
At your words Diluc's once tender gaze returns to a hard blazing glare, and your breathing falters.
"Hate you?" He nearly seems to growl, "what on teyvat gave you that idea?"
"...Um, w-well, you see, I—"
Your heart explodes in your chest, blood rushing up your neck and to your face at a record speed as Diluc dives in to kiss your lips.
The most shocked—and honestly unflattering—gasp escapes you, though it's forcibly turned into a high, lewd moan as his mouth covers yours, tongues meeting and teeth almost clashing.
You whimper loudly against him from the sudden movement, heart lurching when Diluc pushes back the chair to allow him to straddle your lap.
Archons, you can feel yourself burning.
Pulling back with slightly swollen lips, he gives you no time to breath before trailing kisses down your jaw and to your neck, nipping and sucking at the skin with an unbridled passion matched by a deep groan.
Your core throbs in nervous excitement, and you almost feel ashamed for the feeling.
You gasp at the sensation, both panicked and excited, with your hands clawing at his chest and back at the intensity. A series of noises—whimpers, whines, and moans—escape you, the rush of it all giving you little to no strength to be able to mask them.
Your chest heaves for breath, Diluc's touch rendering you unable to focus on anything.
A high pitched whine of weak protest leaves your lips and reaches the male's ears, causing his face to flush. His hips roll into yours and your eyes roll back in deliria, resulting in a louder and dirtier sound to resonate by his ear.
He feels his own body react to the feeling—abdomen contracting as his stomach does flips.
"O-Oh, archons..!" You whine, eyes clenched shut in both embarrassment and bliss—you could never seem to catch your breath, "ngh..! P-Please..!"
By morning, it was safe to say that you were, very evidently--and very much pleasurably--proven wrong.
Tumblr media
"Oh. My. God." A smug grin made its way onto Lumine's lips, a boisterous laugh threatening to escape her.
Standing on weak legs with a marked up neck and a fierce amount of blood rushing up to your face, you growl at her, already wallowing in your humiliation and embarrassment.
"Shut up!"
Off to the side floats Kiko and Paimon who dance in little circles singing, "we told you so, we told you so, we told you so~"
Kaeya had already pestered you earlier, laughing heartily and making fun of you for not having listened to anyone.
"And look where that got you," Kaeya snickered, "although, I don't think you were complaining now, were you?"
You would've kicked him if your legs weren't going to give out.
You let out an embarrassed sigh, "Just... just help me get home before Diluc finds me again... if I see him I'm going to—"
"What? Burst?" Lumine tries to contain her giggles, "like you did last night?" She cackles.
Your heart drops, "L-LUMINE, SHUT UP..!"
Although, you couldn't exactly deny it; feeling the slight pulsing pleasure of your lower half from the aftermath of the previous night.
And after it all, Diluc certainly wasn't going to let you go anytime soon.

Full Moon Stolitz thoughts
Alright I'm getting on this shit because I am obsessed with Stolitz unironically. Before I start this I want to be absolutely clear that (in my opinion) there is no "right" side in the overall situation between Blitz and Stolas. Both equally have problems that contribute to their miscommunication and I can sympathise with both of them. If you disagree, feel free to ignore this post and scroll on, I don't mind friendly debate with people I know well but strangers on the internet are a different story.
I do generally project heavily onto Blitz which yeah probably impacts my interpretation of this a lot but I'm just a guy on tumblr I'm not here to be 100% right I'm just posing my take on their behaviours etc etc
Mandatory Disclaimer: spoilers start below! Do not click read more if you care about spoilers for The Full Moon episode of Helluva Boss
That all said, I'm splitting this into three parts:
Blitz's behaviour throughout the episode
Stolas' behaviour throughout the episode
Blitz and Stolas' confrontation/argument/interaction at the end of the episode
Part One: Blitz's behaviour
Starting off with "When I See Him", the basics of it (that is played up a bit for comedy and more or less directly stated really at the start) is that Blitz is obviously covering up how he really feels by concentrating entirely on the sex he anticipates having, and acting like that is what is important to him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Are we okay? Can't really say I'm getting by By avoiding his questions It's so complicated, I hate when it's complicated Why do I always end up in situations that are complicated?
Blitz knows there is something wrong, or off, between the two of them but he'd rather not talk or communicate about it - literally preferring to avoid the topic entirely because "complicated" = bad, and he has no idea how to fix that, despite the fact that most of his relationships have been and/or are still complicated, he doesn't know how to deal with that because he never learnt. He's started to with Fizz a bit at the very least, but he's definitely not in a place to do that with romantic relationships yet - but I digress.
Here I go again, getting in my head So I'll focus on the sexy stuff instead
Not too much to say about this part other than he is actively choosing to disregard his anxieties and worries about him and Stolas by putting on this mask of caring about the sex and nothing else. Honestly, not a surprise with Blitz, this is pretty average behaviour and is very much likely a common coping mechanism of his to avoid serious feelings when engaging in relationships of a romantic nature. Especially since he seems to place a lot of value in himself in how good he is in bed.
When I see him, I'm gonna do that thing he likes No need to change things, I'll just bring the ropes and spikes[/spice*] We've got a nice arrangement And it's working out just fine We'll keep it light
Can't wait to lose ourselves in nasty sex And make that bird squawk We'll just stick with what makes sense
Same as above, he's going to what's familiar and directly deciding he'd rather ignore any issues they have and not talk about them in favour of doing what they normally do on full moons and call it a night.
*my audio processing disorder really did not like that line, and I cannot completely tell if that's right - any mistakes in lyrics or other quotes from the show before or after this are almost definitely because of this so please feel free to correct me.
Moving on from the song, some things Blitz does or says during the conversation with Moxxie and Loona in the office that stick out to me.
It's the full moon, I gotta meet up with Stolas tonight. Felt like dressing up a little since it's been a few months since I've been inside his feathered ass.
This is personally really interesting to me since he's not been known to dress up explicitly to see Stolas before (excluding the posts that have been seen on the instagram accounts but I'm hesitant to count those as 100% hard canon, and they were outfits of a different variety - not a bowtie and suspenders as he's seen wearing in the episode). It's like he's trying very hard to impress him for.. some reason? I'm guessing he sees it as part of his whole plan to really sort of wow Stolas, get in there, get out, no touchy feely stuff. It comes off as the opposite to me though, it shows that he kind of values what Stolas think of him and his appearance - and that he wants to impress Stolas. This could just be him trying to prove his worth to Stolas so he doesn't get cast aside, but it could also be more.
Tumblr media
This facial expression is very important to me. It's a split second frame of vulnerability in response to Loona saying the following:
Oh shit, he's getting bored of you.
This is genuine worry and concern on his face, he tried to cover it up with a smile but he is concerned. And yes, it could just be about losing the book, it probably is in part but I think it's more than that.
Loona also says this:
Yeah, man. If someone wants to see you less and less, big red flag. If they give you chances to ditch, they probably want out themselves. Just wanna be more passive aggressive about it, dicks.
When she says this Blitz reacts very on the defensive, repeating what she said mockingly and saying this:
How do you know, Loona?
It's a very defensive reaction and I'd bet he feels at least a little bit bruised and hurt at the thought of Stolas getting "bored" of him - which probably does not help at all with how he's struggling with how he currently feels about Stolas between the agreement for the book and not seeing him in a while.
Immediately after this interaction, he literally leaves his job (which like, yeah, he is own his boss I Guess he can do that whenever he wants but I can't imagine he does it a lot, I Hope, unless he thinks it's important) and goes shopping for more things to impress Stolas. It's a lot of effort to put into someone you don't really super care about, all things considered but let's just go with the devil's advocate here that it's not to lose the book and it doesn't really mean anything. Although I do find his choice to look at candles first interesting, assuming it's not for something else (resident sex repulsed asexual is struggling with thinking about that kind of thing - despite watching helluva boss lmao), Stolas seems to like candles. If I remember correctly, he has some near his bath.
Tumblr media
An interesting detail for Blitz to know/remember/take into account, for someone he allegedly does not care about. Anddd that's it for Blitz's scenes in this episode.
Part 2: Stolas' Behaviour
Like with Blitz, I'm gonna focus on how Stolas acts in "When I See Him" first, then move on to what we see of him alone in the rest of the episode (which there's very little of, I think, unfortunately).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The summary of what I think of Stolas in this song is he clearly has a somewhat fairytale view of his relationship with Blitz still (which is only emphasised by how the song is disney princess like in nature), thankfully he knows he has to let him be separate from the terms of their agreement and has found a way for this to occur without horribly impacting Blitz's business. However, he (at least, at first) seems to think after this happens everything will go fine and be perfectly okay and happily ever after, or more likely hopes that is how the situation will end up - but we see more of his worries later on so he's evidently not completely deluding himself.
My derring-do is half disguised Behind a smile
I don't have a lot to say about this just that it shows Stolas is obviously aware that Blitz is performing at least a little when he's with him.
I swore I wouldn't dwell on the divorce
This line just interests me more than anything, it's understandable that he doesn't want to think about the divorce. God knows I wouldn't want to, but's it intriguing to see he's attempting to distance himself from it - I hope we see more about this in the future episodes, maybe.
So for my own health I'll remind myself That when I see him I know that it won't feel so tough I'll believe him And not the voice that says I'm not enough No need for an arrangement It can just be him and me I'll see us free How perfect it could be When I see him tonight
This bit is very sweet honestly, Stolas clearly yearns to be closer to Blitz - and he's trying his best to facilitate that. He just wants genuine connection and love, something he couldn't experience in his marriage with Stella. Stolas is obviously nervous and has some self worth issues to say the least, but he deals with them differently to Blitz. In fact, he finds that being with Blitz helps combat these (likely because he feels loved and/or wanted by someone).
Unrelated to dissecting the episode and the like, the voice acting for this part was incredible and I love the way Stolas' VA (his name has slipped my mind atm) conveys emotion in his voice - even while singing. He sounds very hopeful, yet the cracks and wobbles suggest how nervous he feels for the interaction with Blitz, even if he's currently acting as if he thinks it will end well.
Oh god I'll fucking die alone if this goes bad tonight
This bit really just kind of shows how nervous he does feel about talking with Blitz about giving him the crystal. And that he is scared it'll go wrong, it's nothing too crazy.
Tumblr media
The detail of him having none of the medication he takes left is interesting to me though, just that he's still taking it, I guess - could suggest he's still struggling with anxiety etc etc.
Am I doing something I can't take back? Would he want me if he was free? And if he's only here as a prisoner What kind of a monster does that make me
Stolas is clearly feeling a lot of guilt for his past treatment of Blitz, and fear that his feelings aren't reciprocated - but it seems like he's more scared that he's been taking advantage of Blitz, than the thought that Blitz doesn't like him.
My entire life's been written in stone He taught me that I could choose
Blitz is the first person he really chose to meet or associate with, as a child and as an adult. There was no obligation to know him or socialise with him, or to be his friend (or more). In fact, it was discouraged if anything but Stolas chose to do it anyway - and it helped him realise he could do what he wanted, and gain the confidence to do so.
Part 3: Blitz and Stolas' confrontation
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stolas' body language here kills me, he's so nervous for what he's about to do, and despite his hopeful song early he's eerily somber - as if he knows this will end badly.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Blitz looks so afraid here, he's gone through all of this effort to try to impress Stolas and keep him from getting "bored" of him. Part of this is probably because he doesn't want to lose the connection he and Stolas have but honestly it's largely probably the fear of losing the book and his business that he's worked so hard for. Blitz is an incredibly ambitious person, and he's put a lot of blood, sweat and tears (mostly blood) into I.M.P and to have it taken away because of someone else due to not being good enough for them is probably one of his worst fears.
Tumblr media
Blitz's immediate switch to trying to seduce Stolas is slightly jarring, but not all that surprising considering how this whole thing started. Blitz is desperate, trying anything to prove to Stolas he's worth keeping around. Meanwhile Stolas looks resigned, as if realising it really was just a performance for Blitz the entire time.
Tumblr media
Stolas, please, I- I need this book. Please, I need this book, Stolas. I will do anything.
The immediate switch to begging, mixed with tears, took me off guard honestly. I didn't expect to see him do that but it makes sense considering how badly he treasures I.M.P and he really is just at the whim of Stolas and it could all collapse at any given moment.
I don't understand, why are you giving me this? Am I not like, fucking you good enough? Because I can- I can always do better.
This being Blitz's immediate reaction to getting the crystal from Stolas is upsetting. I was on the verge of tears here, he can't even comprehend that Stolas might genuinely want to give him a gift, not because Blitz isn't good enough, but because Stolas wants him to be independent. Blitz has never viewed himself as "good enough" for people and he puts on a lot of performances to convince himself he's worthy of being associated with others. This probably feels like, to him, a convoluted way of "getting rid" of him, instead of giving him freedom so he and Stolas can interact with less of a power imbalance.
This in an interesting roleplay, never done this one but I can get into it. How's this? Oh, Stolas, I'll stay with you, I love you soo much.
Blitz's immediate response to Stolas' confession being one of disbelief leading him into thinking it's some sort of roleplay or pretense because he can't possibly believe that anyone would actually love him is honestly worse case scenario and probably where all of this starts going downhill.
I have my answer, Blitz. You needn't say anything. I have wanted you, for so long. The fact that you couldn't believe that I might have these feelings about you, that your first instinct is that it's always about... sex. That's enough to know what this is.
This right here, is terrible. Miserable, even. Communication is starting to break down, Stolas doesn't realise or understand Blitz's point of view and I certainly cannot blame him for getting upset but how these two are communicating yet somehow falling victim to miscommunication at the same time is impressive at this point. They're both getting emotional, and it's fucking everything up but to be fair no one can remain 100% logical, this is nerve wracking and stressful for them both.
What? Fuck you, Stolas. You spring this feelings bullshit on me, are you fucking kidding? Can I get a fucking minute to think after everything you've put me through, you pompous rich asshole? Treat me like one of your little butler imps, you can't just dismiss me like that! I mean, you royal fucks think you can do this every time, like you can just play with our feelings because we're smaller and not as important! Well, I'm not letting you, bitch! Let's go!
This, this is incredibly cathartic in a weird way. It's not good by any means but for Blitz these bitter feelings have probably been somewhat simmering beneath the surface for a while and he hasn't been able to express them because of the nature of his and Stolas' relationship. The way he's phrasing this makes me wonder if he has previous experience with a royal demon doing this to him outside of now, and Stolas' father hiring him to be Stolas' friend when he was a child. It wouldn't be too unreasonable but putting that aside for a moment. The anger and lashing out here is probably a defense mechanism on his part, every time something has got vulnerable or upsetting in the past in this show Blitz always seems to get angry (an example that comes to mind at the minute is when Cash was celebrating Fizz's birthday - at the time he didn't say anything to Fizz but he stormed off, angry. Another one could be probably a few of his interactions with Verosika. I'd have to rewatch the show to find something more particular). The point is Blitz lashes out instead of being open and vulnerable, he doesn't mean or genuinely think any of this - and immediately regrets it as soon as he says it. But it's too late, it's been said.
Stolas flinches or pauses when walking a handful of times during this rant from Blitz, each time whenever he has an insult. Before he has even said anything it's immensely clear Stolas is very hurt by this.
Blitz. I think so very highly of you, I didn't realise you think so low of me.
Tumblr media
This is the regret I was talking about, it's probably helped along by Stolas admitting he thinks highly of Blitz but god - he is crushed. And he immediately tries to apologise but Stolas teleports him out of there before he can even process it, leaving us on a terrible cliffhanger.
God, it's a fucking mess. They're a mess I'm so scared for the next episode and how they are even going to fix this. Someone get these gay demons a therapist, please, I beg.
All in all, ow my feelings, this episode hurt, I did cry. Stolitz have mastered the art of miscommunication, but that is hardly news. Blitz seems to have got a genuine wake-up call, sort of similar to how he did with Fizz and I'm hoping that kickstarts something to help him improve, because he does need to. At the same time, Stolas has kinda fucked up here, and does need to give Blitz more time to process since I imagine this is very fucking shocking to him. It's all one biggggg mess and god knows how it'll work out but I'm looking forward to finding out and hopefully not having my heart ripped out and spat on by the end of this season.

Semi-related to Thistle talk but it's interesting to compare him with Yaad's generation, because they too are stuck in a perpetual adolescence while still having to carry out adult responsibilities. Given Yaad's entire arc and the apparent ease at which the citizens have worked for centuries on end, one very optimistic take might interpret this as them developing more maturity than Thistle… But then it's pointed out that they're doing all of this because routine is the only thing keeping them sane anymore, and even then they still struggle to find meaning and joy in things other people take for granted, like food. So to other people what looks like maturity is actually repression or apathy for the sake of survival.
And while their situation is definitely not the same as Thistle being taken away from his culture and raised entirely by tallmen, the Golden Country citizens are also disconnected from where they came from and what they "should" be - the previous generations that had a frame of reference for the outside world and a normal lifespan are now gone. That's how we end up with scenes like Chilchuck being unnerved by the brewer that looks like a teen but casually mentions running their own business for 600+ years. They and Thistle all have that dissonance of looking young but having taken on too many duties, much too early, for much too long.
I hadn't thought much about how young the golden kingdom people are I just assumed they were adults but they DO look younger than what we would consider adults.
I theorized on another post that they might all be 16 (but I also say I think they're older there, now I'm not so sure) because that's the age of maturity for Tallmen.
Age of maturity usually means that's when you're considered an "adult" socially (as in now you have adult responsibilities and is expected to carry your own) that's why I think Thistle hasn't reached that yet, its what would thematically fit him the most as a kid with adult responsibilities (wouldn't make sense if he was already the age that's expected to take on these responsibilities)
The golden kingdom citizens don't really feel like they have a stunted growth like thistle to me.... I don't know how to explain how I feel but... it's like they have stunted experiences instead? They don't know what really is like to be alive, they are just going about their lives in a clockwork manner trying not to think about it and missing out on how it feels to live (exemplified by how they don't eat).
What made me feel like that the most is that when Yaad is in Delgal's body it doesn't feel like a teen trapped in an old man's body, it feels like an old man with finally a body that matches? To me the golden kingdom citizens feel more like someone forever trapped in a body much younger than their minds?
That's just my interpretation tho! I like your interpretation too, it's making me think about it more, so I might end up changing my mind. Some of them really do act like kids/teens like the girls asking Marcille to do a fashion show for them, that was very cute, they probably haven't gotten to play in a while.

fuck it I know constantly complaining about the Silent Hill 2 remake makes it look like I'm just searching for things to complain about, but there really is so much wrong with the SH2 redesign even on its face. despite my vehement belief that Silent Hill 2 does not need a remake - what it needs is a digital rerelease and proper remaster (although the Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition takes care of 90% of that - the only thing needed is upscaled textures) I am willing to admit that for the most part, the new characters look Fine. I have issues with the cinematography and the way the designers clearly Do Not understand the artistry of the cinematography (see Exhibit A) but generally the character models look good. and I don't just mean graphically speaking - I mean if someone said "hey here's my interpretation of what the Silent Hill characters would look like in a more modern, realistic game style/based on different actors" I would say wow, yeah! that's pretty spot on! (though I do think James looks way too put-together and conventionally attractive, but it's not the worst redesign in the world.) and then there's Maria.
Maria is supposed to be a very unsettling character who is instantly in James' face about how much she wants to be with him. she's clingy and dramatic and as far as we (and James) know, it's for no apparent reason - I mean, she just met him, right? it's only in Born from a Wish that we get a more sympathetic look at her character and realize why she acts the way she does. that, holy shit, this isn't a monster, this is a literal person that was created by Silent Hill and who has nothing except the memory of James and that she loves him. that's it. it's supposed to come as a surprise and make us feel uncomfortable because her entire situation is fucked up. on the surface though, throughout the main game, she acts seductive, confident, and catty. she's not outwardly likeable. tons of people found her to be annoying and that's the response you're meant to have initially. because you don't know that under the surface she's a scared, lonely woman who doesn't want to die but has no way to truly live.
I could continue to talk about how the remake spoils her entire character because she comes across meek and frightened or how they took away her iconic tacky cheetah skirt and crop top and heavier makeup and replaced it with an extremely normal, not uncanny face, and put her in a decidedly more modest evening gown and leather jacket for some reason but I know I'm gonna just have people shouting that the game isn't even out yet so I should totally trust the people who wrote The Medium to write good female characters... nobody ever learns a thing. peace.

thoughts on obey me as an actual game? anything u wan a change if given the chance?
it honestly makes me mad everytime i think about the obvious lack of effort for world building but specifically for the nobility plotline... sooooo underutilized it's upsetting. like i've read isekai manhwas with better use/grasp of the nobility and political climate... also (can't remember if it's from swd or nb) the fact that lucifer and the brothers' are basically living off an allowance/salary set for them by diavolo is just... ugh. they couldn't have given them actual positions with titles ??? they couldn't have brought their title as princes/lords of the underworld into play ??? like i get they did it for the game, for shits and giggles and idk maybe it's just me lawl
sorry for ranting lmao i've sent asks a couple times and i quite like your insights and takes on things. was wondering if you'd have anything to say 🫡
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love talking about this stuff! I know it's a dating game and the lore/world building is basically an afterthought because the game's focus is on MC's relationships with the characters now, and not necessarily on the world/characters before MC existed or became involved.
I've mentioned before that the world feels really empty to me at times because they don't really talk about characters that exist (in a meaningful way) unless they're the established dateables (or soon-to-be dateables) for MC. Many of them are nameless demons/angels (the demon lords, the owner of The Fall that's been mentioned more than once by his title but not name), generic sorcerers and angels we know exist in the other realms. (For some reason, Uriel has been name-dropped twice with very little info besides that.)
Part of my motivation for developing the angel/demon OCs is to give more context and depth to the world that MC interacts with, even if they don't necessarily interact with MC in their own day to day lives. There are countless Devildom businesses that keep the realm running – who owns them? Who are the demons that develop their technology and vehicles? Who are the demons that acquire the raw materials used to build these items, or design/build the Devildom's architecture and homes? Who are the professsors at RAD and the other students? They're probably not all demons born from nobility, so where did they come from? What do the parts of hell outside the Devildom metropolis look like? Do they live on other levels? Rings? How easy can you travel between them, or why would you want to (or not want to)? Who are the demons that make up the demon armies and where do they live? Also, how in the world did Solomon end up in pacts with so many powerful demon lords, and now that he's not a power-hungry king, how do those pacts serve him (and the demons he's bound to)?
So yeah, maybe I think about the game world a lot because there's so much potential that goes ignored. I understand that the game isn't meant to be an in-depth look at the Devildom or Celestial Realm outside of what's relevant for character development or plot purposes, but it would be nice to have answers for some of the obvious questions that come up over time. Some of the information we're given in Nightbringer feels incomplete or doesn't match the tone/characterization we were presented with in the OG game either which makes me worry about continuity issues and retconning going forward.
(This got long so the rest is going behind a read-more link. lol)
When I started developing/outlining The Fall, it was meant to be a personal interpretation of the game's lore and my own creative spin on filling in all the gaps. At the heart of it, it's a love story between two angels-turned-demons. But the worlds they live in change over time, and there's a lot of nuance and deeper insights to explain how and why those things happen.
Some of the topics I wanted to explore in this project include:
Rank/power structures in the Celestial Realm. Basically, how do the various ranks of angels interact with each other, and how do they view angels with ranks higher or lower than their own?
Xenophobia. How angels and demons interact and perceive the other races/species. Metatron is an angel that was originally born as a human and ascended to the Celestial Realm after being chosen by Father to do so. Knowing that, how does his former human life impact what other angels think of him, if it does at all? (Spoiler: It does.) There's also significant issues that come up with the arrival of fallen angels, although Meta and Azra falling has very different reactions compared to Lucifer and the others later.
The role of the Seraphim. This story begins before the Celestial War with Lucifer, so he and Michael are still the two primary beacons of power in the Celestial Realm. How often do they agree or disagree on handling disputes, and how do they resolve their differences of opinion? I also wanted to explain the role of other Seraphim – basically, it's not just Michael or Lucifer calling the shots, and the other Seraphim are expected to lend their voices to discussions/debates about serious matters and it's treated almost like a council where majority vote wins if they can't all agree on something.
Side note: I really don't like the idea that Michael (or any of the other Seraphs) are free to do whatever they want without any sort of accountability or repercussions. I think the things Michael might want to do (ex. sneaking into the Devildom in disguise) and what he should do (literally anything but that) are two completely different things, and being emotional/grief-stricken isn't a good excuse for a leader that wants to YOLO his way through his problems when he has an entire realm of citizens he is responsible for. Gabriel is my solution to some of Michael's emotional impulses and rash decision making. He's the angel OC that acts as Michael's voice of reason when he struggles to separate logic and reason from emotions. He keeps Michael in-check when he wants to do things that are too erratic or personal, but he whole-heartedly supports Michael's plans or ideas that benefit the Celestial Realm. I like to imagine Gabriel and Barbatos are similar in that way and have the potential to be good friends as they bond and commiserate over their loyalties to leaders that sometimes act like spoiled children.
Fallen angels in general. There are a lot of fallen angels besides Lucifer and his brothers. Meta and Azra are two angels that go through the process of falling together and I had a lot of ideas about how I think that looks on a physical and spiritual level. There are differences for angels that are cast out by the Seraphim for breaking the rules/putting the Celestial Realm at risk vs. angels that choose to fall vs. angels that are punished by Father for defying him regardless of what the Seraphim choose. Azra and Meta's motivations and reasons for how/why they fall are slightly different, and how that plays out (and the impact on the angels left behind) are different too. They don't have a pre-existing relationship with Diavolo to pave the way for their new lives in the Devildom either, so how do they cope? Who helps them start their new lives, and how do they navigate being strangers in a foreign land while undergoing the physical and emotional changes of becoming demons? Diavolo's father is still the Demon King when they fall and it's only Belial's involvement that keeps things from completely going off the rails after their arrival. The fact that Belial himself is a former angel has its own significance. There isn't a manual or one-size-fits-all approach to this either, and Azra and Meta demonstrate how the Devildom's negligence of their newest citizens can lead to disastrous results sooner or later.
Navigating tension and conflict between the Celestial Realm and Devildom. There is violence that breaks out between the two realms, so how does the Celestial Realm respond to that sort of crisis? Once in the Devildom, there's a glimpse of how the Demon King (Diavolo's father) handles these developments and why the conflict happened at all. (Spoiler alert: Belial is an antagonist in this part of the story for a reason.)
What is Solomon up to? He has all these pacts with powerful demons and he's no stranger to the Devildom, so of course he's going to be interested to meet some new fallen angels – especially one with as much power and common interests as Metatron. Solomon is very human in this story too. He has his own selfish motivations for getting involved, but he also shows genuine care and concern for those he considers friends. He gets involved maybe more than he should, but for good reasons. He's a useful bridge to help the demons understand some of the obvious implications of having ex-angels living in their world. He also manipulates things a bit behind the scenes because of his connection to Barbatos (and therefore Diavolo) but there's no immature feud souring their relationship in this story. (Gonna be honest, I do not think Barbatos's problem with Solomon had anything to do with his place on Solomon's list of demons.)
Lesser demons and the nobility. I wanted to explore the lives of lesser demons versus the lives of noble demons. Where they live, what they do for a living, how they view demons of higher/lower ranks than themselves and other races. Zee's an example of a lesser demon who does whatever he needs to do to earn a living for himself, and Azra doesn't have much clout behind him so they almost meet each other as equals. It's an interesting look at their friendship and the way connections to more powerful demons (like Belial) help them both make better lives for themselves in the central Devildom where they eventually grow their business and social reputations. Meta, despite being a fallen Seraph, has practically no motivation or reputation to speak of and this has its own consequences later. But Zee's not the only lesser demons in this story, and if you thought the nobility in Nightbringer had problems with fallen angels, the lesser demons are far more hostile towards them – they're the ones on the front lines whenever war with the Celestial Realm breaks out, so its understandable they might not be very welcoming. For the demon nobility, the ones that aren't actively criticising fallen angels are mostly indifferent to them, but that's not such a great thing either.
There are other areas I wonder about that I don't explore in The Fall, but I hope to do so for the various OCs and their stories. The Devildom's power hierarchy/use of titles is one of them. The demons of the Ars Goetia all of their own armies at their disposal, and some are dukes while others are kings. That doesn't seem to have any meaning or impact in the game world, but surely there are ways that can affect how the demon nobility interacts with each other? It certainly made a difference to Solomon, I doubt he would've wanted so many pacts if the demons didn't have anything to offer him at the time. The how and why of Solomon's pacts is it's own area of exploration, which I hope to do with Belial and Bathin.

You have any Wilson family headcanons to spare? Especially on Rose & Grant?
DO I EVER!!! Gosh where do I even start
I mentioned to a friend of mine the other day that I think Slade was a leash kid, and I stand by that whole heartedly. He wanted to raise Grant as a leash kid too, simply because he thought you were supposed to, but Adeline threatened his life so it never happened. This was the first of many times he was confronted with the concept that maybe his home life wasn't great.
He would not even begin reflecting on this until almost a decade later. He still doesn't really consider himself a victim and honestly most of his shitty parenting comes from him just having no clue what he's doing. He's aware that he's bad at it, but instead of trying to improve he just tries to avoid his kids in hopes that they'll be better off without him.
Also he grew up in 1950's-60's Appalachia, I think he's more superstitious than he lets on. I imagine he grew up hearing about family curses and old wives tales, and while on some level he recognizes that Fran likely just used those stories to cope with the situation there's also a part of him that believes it for the same reasons she did. He's not a victim, he can't be, so it must not have been abuse. Which eventually turned into him just kind of accepting that he was always going to be a bad father, that there was never a chance for him to have a family and any attempt he makes will just end up worse than the last.
It makes it easier to maintain his self imposed isolation that way.
Adeline is a lot more interesting than people give her credit for. I like to think she was born and raised in a big city like New York or maybe Gotham if I wanted to be funny. She was definitely a wild child, and that was something that didn't change during her first marriage.
I truly do believe that Count whats-his-face (I don't care enough to look him up) tried exactly once to hit her and he ended up with three bullet wounds that all knicked arteries. It was his only warning and he was smart enough to know that.
Addie is loyal to the end, she's the kind of person that steadfastly refuses to let go of people she cares about. In basically ever version of her story she tries, she tries so hard to make things work. I once compared her to the Greek myth of Medea and I think about the comparison often.
I also think that Adeline was always her father's daughter, whether she liked it or not. I don't remember if it was canon that she was raised primarily by her dad but I only remember her dad being mentioned so I think she grew up in a single parent household and was mostly left to her own devices as a kid. She probably grew up really close with her cousin, most people probably thought they were sisters.
Mayflower fucking HATES Slade, she was advocating for the divorce before they were even married. I know in my heart she was Slade's biggest hater. Her and Slade talked mad shit about each other but they were also gossip buddies for the longest and it was the only thing that stopped her from beating his ass all the time.
SladeAddie is so toxic Bi4Bi coded. Really funny to me that Addie was probably older than Slade, do you know the kind of rizz you have to possess to bag a milf that could kill you in 20 different ways before you could blink? One who's already been divorced? What charm was this freshly 18 year old drop out exuding to be pulling like this?
When do you think he told her that he lied to the recruiter about his age and he wasn't actually 23 or whatever? Did he ever tell her? Did she figure it out herself? It was literally never addressed but I think about it all the time.
Slade is definitely still mildly in love with her and falls a little all over again every time she deals him grievous bodily harm. I don't know his thing for people who hate him is probably a self conscious way to punish himself for sucking all the time.
Billy and Alfred being friends is a headcanon that I literally never stop thinking about. Why wouldn't they be old friends or whatever? They have tea the 4th Tuesday of every other month. They complain about their respective morons and brag about the kids they have to take care of because their morons won't.
Billy is definitely a British rock fan and he fucking HATES country music. Slade starts playing it in the car and Billy threatens to crash the whole car just to make a point.
He's like maybe 5 years older than Slade if I'm being generous about it, he just looks older next to Slade because he's not hopped up on super serum.
He's the one Rose gives her father's day gifts to <3
SladeBilly is canon to me, no way Slade is capable of spending that much time with someone without sleeping with them at least once. It might be the healthiest relationship he's ever had with anyone and Billy barely tolerates him.
Lilian Worth my beloved,,,,,,they gave her such a white ass name. I choose to believe that she changed it later on for anonymity. Chea Nath is a name she hasn't used in a while, but it's still one she holds dear.
She seems like someone who was really into ballet, and probably someone who was really good at it too.
She's one of those characters that we don't really have any information on, which leaves a lot of wiggle room backstory wise. I probably write too much about characters with poor backgrounds (surprise your bitch grew up impoverished) so I guess I'll let Lili have this one.
Diplomats daughter, her and her mom were really close growing up, and she seems like she grew up with sisters. She's got that middle sister energy to her, growing up everyday was a fight and let's just say she didn't lose often.
If Adeline is Medea, Lili is definitely Circe. Versatile, powerful, a man hater, and she'll do anything to protect her girls.
Honors student, her grades never dropped below an A- and she has degrees in everything from fine art to communications. Rose went to college purely because her mom made it clear that not going was not an option.
Grant is one of my favorite characters. Ever. He's definitely an old school country enjoyer, much to Billy's chagrin and Slades secret delight.
He was the boy who climbed up the tallest trees to prove he could and then came home with a thousand little scrapes on him.
He has a bee allergy.
He's the least enhanced of his siblings but he still has a meta gene, I think the reason the H.I.V.E. serum didn't activate it like it should have is because his power was the mental kind and not the physical kind so his body couldn't hold up against it even while his psychic powers were getting stronger.
Painted his nails one(1) time, it was a dried up iridescent blue that Addie dug up and was going to throw away but Grant wanted to try it. He didn't know what nail polish remover was though so he scraped his teeth on his nails to get it all off but he couldn't get all of it and he almost cried so hard he threw up at dinner that night because he was scared of Slade noticing (Slade didn't notice and wouldn't have cared if he did).
Thought he was SO stealthy when he snuck out but literally everyone knew because he always came home smelling like weed, hungover, and he went to school in the same clothes he wore to go out. Most of the time Addie didn't care (See above: "former wild child") but Slade "Biggest loser in his hometown" Wilson always had an issue with it.
Officially his tomb is located in the Kane family plot but he's actually buried in Slades hometown next to his grandmother. (Adeline is not aware of this)
Joey was actually the one who pulled most of the pranks when they were kids, but Grant always took the fall. Mostly because literally no one would believe it even if Joey said he did it. Which he tried to do, many times.
Grant taught Joey to make flower crowns but he never admitted it because he thought it made him look weak. He still keeps the few that Joey made for him though, they're basically turning to dust in the drawer he hid them in to this day. They're one of the few things that weren't torn down and shoved in the attic after his death.
Joey still celebrates Grant's birthday every year, him and mom play The Last Man by Clint Mansell on the piano because it was his favorite piece to play before he stopped because it wasn't "cool".
Grant tried to get Joey to come with him when he ran away but Joey didn't want to leave Addie. Joey ended up moving into Grant's old apartment, he often thinks of what life would be like if he'd taken up the offer.
Grant is THE ass hole big brother from the late 90's/early 2000's. Down to the mullet and the shirt with the sleeves cut off. He used to steal Addie's eyeliner and she would get so mad because that stuff is EXPENSIVE and he's just smearing however. She teaches him how to do it properly but he says it makes him look "too girly".
Grant's picture is the only one in Slades wallet because he doesn't have to worry about putting him in danger anymore.
DON'T let Joey's "natural" pretty boy look fool you he has a 20 step skin routine and a 15 step hair routine and he wakes up at the ass crack of dawn to start on his makeup.
He used to get the worst acne as a pre-teen and he has physically burned all the evidence except for one picture of him and Slade on a fishing trip when he was like thirteen, he doesn't know it exists and it's the only picture Slade consistently travels with.
He doesn't want to be the favorite but he would get mad if someone else was the favorite because what work were YOU even putting in for it.
He has 12 year old boy humor I fear. Giggles at dick jokes and has used his name to make "Joe Mama" jokes on various occasions.
Number one Mama's boy of all time, there's not a single time they've gone out in public together where they haven't had coordinated outfits. Him and Addie call biweekly to shit talk people and exchange recipes and the like.
Joey is THE biggest gossiper. He'll talk shit about people right in front of them if he's sure they don't know ASL and whoever is around just has to try not to laugh while they "translate" him.
He's so good at convincing people to do things for him just by looking at them with his big ol' eyes. And he's a theater kid so his expressions are really exaggerated.
Rose, my muse. I know canonically she's a smoker but I'm changing that to her being a vaper. I don't know she just looks like she'd beat the shit out of you for a cherry lemon cancer stick.
Energy drinks don't work on her in normal amounts so to rectify that she constantly walks around with horrific concoctions in a water bottle the size of her head.
She street races as R4V4G3R and she's pretty good at it. She learned a lot about cars doing it which is how Slade justified being an anonymous benefactor for her.
The few weeks Slade had her she ran that shit like the navy. Up at 6 AM on the dot, tight ass ponytail swaying as she got ready for school. She was out that door by 7:25 everyday and she would MAKE Slade violate traffic laws to get to school by 7:35.
Has bitten people before and will do it again.
Had the BIGGEST crush on Donna Troy when she was on the Teen Titans. She didn't know it then but she did. Her taste in women really hasn't changed at all.
Only has her grunge thing going on when she's planning on meeting people, average day outfit is all pastels and florals that her mom used to pick out for her.
Got pretty much all of Lili's stuff, her main apartment is always Immaculately decorated. She also lives in L.A. because literally fuck New York. She's trying to get her engineering degree in PEACE.
She looks up to Grant a lot, she really only has Joey's account of things and he only tells her the good stuff. How he was brave, and strong, and funny. When she was younger she really wanted to be like him, but that was the last thing Slade wanted. So obviously she named herself Ravager out of spite.
Rose is the shortest one in the family but she's buff as hell, my girl is built like a fridge and she knows it. Joey tried to rest his arm on her head one and she stabbed him. It didn't go through his armor obviously but it did leave a mildly annoying bruise that he pouted about for a week.
She low-key really likes Addie but she tends to stay away because of the whole "child of infidelity" thing. She HAS threatened to call Addie on Slade multiple times.
Grew up with a bunch of other kids so she never really wanted siblings, but she would kill for Joey. She'd like a sister though. Really misses her cousins and aunts from the brothel but doesn't want to put them in danger by talking to them.
She's fond of kids but wouldn't want her own because she doesn't want to bring a kid into the kinda life she has, or their family in general.
Routinely takes jobs from Slade because she knows full well he won't do shit. And she's right every time he makes it into a team up that usually ends with them fighting but sometimes, every once in a while, they do something nice together and it makes her remember why she wanted to find him so bad when she was 13.
I don't like her carving her eye out for Slade I thought the whole concept of her idolizing Slade was fucking stupid. She tolerates him at best. So I like to attribute it to her visions, I think the blind prophet symbolism is really fun. Especially because then we can have a Prometheus type situation where her eye patch keeps switching sides/sometimes she's not blind because she keeps carving them out in fits of Seer Madness™️ but they keep regenerating.
SHE HAS BROWN EYES HER EYES ARE BROWN I KNOW HER PERSONALLY PLEASE LET HER KEEP EVEN ONE OF HER ETHNIC FEATURES I BEG!!!

Guys, please, Tango doesn't consider himself a builder in the same way Michelangelo might not consider himself a painter* (see tags). You can accept you're very good at two things, and still consider yourself better at one over the other. It's not negative talk when he calls himself a redstone guy.

difficult vs likable person personality quizzes!
Tumblr media
Wesley Crane:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You are a somewhat likable person ( 60% ). You are an easy person to get along with ( 22.86% ).
(( honestly this is pretty accurate... kindness & honesty being his highest out of both charts makes sense, as does tolerance & suspicion both being fairly high as well -- because these are some of his main traits & motivators. he's very gentle and kindhearted, but he is Nothing if not painfully blunt. he also puts up with quite a lot; it's not easy to phase him! friendliness is an interesting one, because it's something separate from kindness. it's not that he's mean, he just doesn't really know how to interact with others! he doesn't reach out he doesn't make friends unless they approach him first and are Insistent. plus, his Ominous Vibes and brutal honesty can sometimes be a bit Much sdjfks. the only real surprise was seeing how highly he scored on humor! wesley, however, would be surprised to hear that he's a Somewhat Likable person... he'd never believe it for a second. ))
(( as far as the difficult person results - ALSO very accurate, i think. i would probably rate him even Higher with suspicion but otherwise its incredibly true. i think the reason he scored so low on this one, despite canonically having Extreme Difficulties interacting with people and connecting with them, is due to how lowly he thinks of himself. don't get me wrong: he's a very very sweet boy who would do anything for people he loves, and who is easy to get along with once you know him because he's so thoughtful and kind and loving, but like... its the way aggression / grandiosity / dominance are all basically at zero. he always, always prioritizes others because his own life and feelings don't matter; he rarely ever gets angry, & never wants to hurt anyone the way he's been hurt. then you take into account how often he just fades into the background and doesn't contribute anything, and yeah i would say he's easy to get along with! because it's like he's not there at all. ))

I do think Shou genuinely doesn't know Mob's name, like why would he?? He never properly introduced himself, their only "proper" interaction was Mob saving him and one (1) singular line of dialogue at the end of S1
But if Shou were to pick up on anybody's naming convention it would be Ritsus... who doesn't really call Mob by name anyway...
So this was just a long winded way to say that one day Shou will slip up and accidentally call Mob "nii-san" the way you accidentally call your teacher "mom"
