You know what I think would have made a good Chakotay episode? Just a day-in-the-life-of-a-first-officer piece. One hand keeping the captain from exploding herself and the other hand dealing with the rest of the crew’s petty bullshit. Trying to sneak moments for himself in there somewhere.
“And as the weeks pass, he finds himself enjoying the company of Annabeth. She’s bright compared to this darkness. And maybe he’s crazy, but it doesn’t matter. Not now as he loses hope. He can’t help but indulge her.
And he thinks perhaps, just this once, he’ll answer her calls.”
Unsung is so popular in the phandom, have you ever considered writing a prequel (a rewrite of the musical) or a sequel? Are you working on anything currently?
A prequel honestly never crossed my mind, and while a sequel has, I don't really know what it would be about. It might be because I just want the characters to have some peace, haha.
I do technically have a WIP—a historical AU—in its infancy, but it's such a struggle to get the writing bug these days. I don't know how to get that drive that I used to have. But there are 3k words and a loose plot, which is more than I had in the four years prior, so I guess there's hope?
Night is a complex character yet so simple, as the person holding so much on his shoulders. His evening of drinking brought about a turn of events that left him riddled with guilt. His brother came to hate him so much he couldn't stand being around him. Though at times he seemed indifferent his face told a whole different story. He never expected his brother's forgiveness because he couldn't forgive himself. As Day knowing what their father said about Night's guilt and Day himself hearing Night stand up for him against their domineering yet loving mother. Day was finally able to let go of the hatred and forgive his brother.
Mark shined as Night's face revealed his every emotion. A gulp and a trapped tear and a THANKS gave Night the relief he hadn't felt in quite awhile. And his face lit up even more as his brother actually had a conversation with him.
