2. Is there a ship you didn’t like at first but ultimately started shipping?

I wouldn't say I didn't like these, but I just didn't see them at first, but then I did, and now here I am, shipping them: Hannibal/Will Graham (TV series ONLY), Steve Rogers/Scott Summers, Sherlock/John, Emma Frost/Steve Rogers. Okay no wait. At first, I could NOT conceive of Emma/Steve or Scott/Steve at first because of AvX from 2012-2013. That comic event and the following AvX Consequences made me never want to see two of my characters paired up with Steve Rogers EVER. Now? I'd rather ship both of them with Steve than with each other.

3. What is the rarest rare pair (that you ship)?

LOL I think that would have to be Scott Summers/Thor and Kate Pryde/Carol Danvers at this point since I'm the only one who's written and posted anything with them.

16. Is there a ship that made you realise something about yourself?

Emma Frost/Scott Summers made me realize who exactly I was in my marriage and who my ex was (he was neither of those two characters - he was the invasive scumbag hypocrite redheaded woman), and it helped me to get past him and heal and strengthen myself.

24. What is one scene you want to see happen for all your ships?

I always think it’s funny when people include Jack-O’ in the count as a Valentine sister. Weren’t Ramlethal and Elphelt made separately from Jack O? Isn’t it more like the Valentine sisters and their cousin? I just think it’s hehehe funny

Just calling them all sisters is a little... easier to explain... than saying they're all sisters but Jack-O's a sister-mother lol

Ram and El refer to each other as sisters exclusively though, it's just Jack-O' that's the weird exception because she's older and closer in composition to Aria than the other surviving Valentines.

i've had a nice time in the yakuza one so far, i thought i'll had hardly no interactions with majima, but the fandom seems bigger than it is considering how many i had interact with me that have some kind of yakuza verse to go with. fact i'm kind of dragging tasha ( @chosenbythecrystal ) into it as well, she hasn't played the games yet so she's hearing everything of majima from me, i nearly expect she'll pick up a muse from it when she gets into playing the games ( they're on game pass/ps plus guys ... get playing them >> ).

but even before i joined this one, a raid group i was in on ffxiv also talked about how good 0 was to me, & pressured me to play it, & one of my friends from that was like "i bet you'll like majima, better stream it when you reach his chapters". first off though, 0 was not my first time playing yakuza, i played the og on ps2 years ago, & tried to play 3 back on ps3, but since i couldn't find a copy of yakuza 2, i couldn't get into 3 back then, felt like i was missing valuable information. xd but yea, when i started into the yakuza series & got all excited about it among ffxiv friends, the lot of us just waffled on about it, until the point we got reminded that we were in a ffxiv server. xd

3. What is the rarest rare pair (that you ship)?

I’d have to go with DigShot (Spartan/Deadshot) for the Arrowverse TV series- just because the number of fics they have on AO3 is truly abysmal and I honestly expected there to be more.

4. Name a popular ship you don’t get the appeal of.

Haha, okay well, this has to be Loki/Mobius (I think this constitutes as a popular ship!) although tbh, I feel that way for a lot of Loki ships like Thorki or Grandmaster/Loki.

10. Is there a ship that makes your skin crawl?

Mmm, nope there really isn’t! Even if it’s for a ship that I don’t fancy, I sometimes consume content (accidentally), but I can’t say that I’ve had such adverse reactions to a particular ship before.

21. Favourite thing you’ve ever created for a ship?

This is HARD- like asking for my favorite fic kinda hard- I love all my creations (fic and art) sooo. But I’ll let you know if I ever create something that blows my own socks away one day XD.

29. What is the ship you ignore 98% of canon for?

I fall in love with ships because I love the characters and interactions (or lack thereof) in canon, so I try to incorporate canon elements in my own fics, and when picking a fic, I love reading canon elements too! That being said, all my ships probably ignore canon/are canon divergent.

How I Feel About This Character

She's not my favorite, but I don't necessarily hate her. She has a ton of potential to work with for writing/character studies given that she doesn't have much of a backstory in the show. So, while I do get and agree with most of the criticism towards her, I like that she's a complicated character. (That's not to say she's the most deeply complex character out there, not by any means lol) We need more female characters like that. Especially ones that don't get vitriolic hate for just EXISTING, y'know?

All The People I Ship Romantically With This Character

Chloe x Christine shipper all the way! I love the idea of them together, I just think they'd be really cute. And I also really like the idea of her and Madeline having complicated feelings for each other. Like, they like each other, but Chloe's weirdly jealous of her too or something like that? Basically cursed yuri if you really think about it

My non-romantic OTP For This Character:

I don't ship PinkBerry, but I like her and Brooke fixing the issues in their friendship and actually growing into their own people/becoming better friends as a result. I like to think that once they really get to know each other, they don't rely on each other as much but still stay friends. Idk man, she's hard though I do like the idea of her Jenna and Rich being chaotic together. They're actively disturbing the peace and they look hot doing it

My Unpopular Opinion About This Character

I see her either trying to be a better person and treating the others better, OR joining an MLM. There's no in between. Like she either follows the mean girl to nurse/lawyer/politician pipeline, but just isn't as mean, or gets really chill and tries to push that part as far deep as she can from her.

One Thing I Wish Would Happen/Had Happened With Them In Canon

That we learn more about her! Like her homelife, her interests, her goals, her relationships and how they came to be with the other characters, just more about her other than "the bitchy mean girl." Both that and her actions get discussed or acknowledged. They probably do in canon, and I could just be clueless, but from what I know that just? Doesn't happen? They don't talk about some of the messed-up stuff she did, so that'd be nice to see in either canon or fanfiction.

My OTP

Her and Christine. I could just see the two of them caring about each other and her being someone Chloe feels comfortable with. She feels like she can talk to her, and Christine has the person she's most afraid of judging her, not doing that at all. She even gets her into acting too and it's something they bond over, just so much fun dynamics to explore with them. I love them <3

My Cross-Over Ship

I haven't thought about it all that much, but honestly, her and Harper or Missy from Heartbreak High. I don't know why, I just think they'd be cool together for whatever reason. That or like Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop or Ashley Graham from Resident Evil just because it'd be really funny

A Headcanon Fact

This has probably been said before, but like most of the rest of the cast I see her home life being pretty bad too. Her parents are probably absent or just can't connect with her, so she acts the way she does as a result. I don't think they're bad people, just not around enough to really get to know her. That's not to excuse her behavior though, it's just my weird way of seeing it.

Ahh, every time you always pick a question that gets me ruminating!😈

Questions here. This one got long again so I've put it under a readmore.

10. What's an AU that would be interesting to explore with your OC?

I'm going to be a little self-indulgent with this one, because the only AUs I know how to write are canon-divergent ones. So there are a few major points in my timeline where I like to think about how things would change considerably if people made different decisions..

The first one I've written smut for is where she never gets past making eyes at Goro and post-ending they're just closely watched coworkers, so she ends up falling back to Johnny. The other big one is where Valentine has a more traditional devil ending where Johnny dies, and she gets contracted to work as an AI while Arasaka waits for a "suitable body". The third one I've been tossing around is what would shake out if Valentine hadn't just watched Yorinobu choke his father to death for like an entire minute, and had actually interrupted him. (Unsurprisingly, I'm a sucker for Arasaka-focused stories.)

She's a really fun vehicle for me to explore the corruption of a sense of self, body horror, as well as the good old courtly drama and espionage that a corporate background allows.

14. How does your OC want to be seen by other characters?

Valentine desperately craves the kind of respect that makes people get nervous. If she could walk into a room and have people straighten up and try to impress her, she could die happy.

15. Does your OC have a faceclaim? If so, who?

Believe it or not, this was the hardest one to answer!! I've been trying to get together references for a commission but for a variety of reasons I'm really bad at picking out faces. However!! I did make some progress today when I happened to see a picture on my dash that is the archetype I've been looking for:

I would say the big difference is that Valentine generally looks a lot more tired, and her natural hair color is a much mousier brown. Now that I have a reference that looks right I'll have to try and make her in the CC in game haha.

25. What is your favorite thing about your OC?

I originally made Valentine to be a corpo character who I thought Johnny might be compelled to "fix" the way most of the people in his life tried to "fix" him. I feel like I've managed to hit the right blend of traits to make her a frustratingly self-aware disaster. Basically she's a total dumbass (affectionate) but she's clever too so she gets away with it a lot of the time.

22. Is there a ship you’ll never admit you have?

No, I'm pretty open about all my ships. I know some of them aren't everyone's cup of tea, and that's cool because likewise about other people's ships. Even the ship I no longer write (Jay/Silent Bob), I'll admit to writing way in the past. I'm just not in that fandom anymore.

24. What is one scene you want to see happen for all your ships?

I admit that I'm a huge sucker for a happily ever after. I can usually withstand any angst and hurt as long as there's Big Comfort and Big Happy at the end.

28. Is there a character you have several ships for?

I have several characters I like to ship with other different characters. Loki, Tony, Steve, Bucky, Scott Summers, Logan, Emma Frost, Kate Pryde, Bobby Drake, Natasha Romanoff, Bruce Banner, Clint Barton...the list kind of goes on. I, naturally, have favorite ships for all of those characters, but it doesn't mean I don't like them to shake things up a bit to have some fun.

VINCENT VALENTINE

🎟️ SEXUALITY HEADCANON: Omnisexual, which is like pansexual but includes other sapient species that may or may not be bipedal. (Back when he was human, he identified as "equal opportunity.")

⚧️ GENDER HEADCANON: Vincent actually has a very complex relationship with gender. He never questioned whether or not he was a man back when he was human, but since he's not anymore he's not really sure where on the spectrum he falls in anything—he'd like to still be a man, but he doesn't even consider himself a person, so he's not sure it applies to him anymore. His explanation of it is "'male' in the same way one refers to a dog." It's...not a fun conversational topic.

💕 A SHIP: VinVeld is my OTP, but I also gun really hard for Strifentine and Valenstrifesodos. Vincent is not my fandom bicycle, but he has a lot of love left in him.

🖇️ A BROTP: Vincent+Yuffie! He's essentially her protective older brother for many years, and eventually that segues into her essentially being his supportive older sister. Then she dies of old age. Sorry.

🚫 A NOTP: Val*nwind. Not because I don't think it could work (my Vincent has a type and Cid could fit into it quite well) but because 1. People treat it as canon when Cid is literally married to Shera, and 2. I don't think Vincent would be remotely interested in reprising his role of 'homewrecker' in another already-tumultuous and undeniably-abusive relationship between two Shinra scientists. Which Cid and Shera are. In case people forgot that.

💭 A RANDOM HEADCANON: I have...so many. This is difficult. Uhh. Vincent is actually a doctor? He comes from a long line of academic prodigies and had a doctorate at 22, at which point he left academia to join the Turks, much to the chagrin of literally everyone except himself. He never really used his education at the time, but postcanon he works with the WRO as Director of Ethics in Science and Medicine, so he does eventually put it to use explaining to people why they need to stop fucking around in specific scientific ways.

🗣️GENERAL OPINION: Vincent Valentine is my favorite character in the history of fiction. I love him more than every other character I have ever loved, combined. He's been my favorite since my first playthrough of the OG, when I was a literal child, and I just never let go. If there is one character that deserves the title of "blorbo" for me, it's him.

Okay here’s the thing, some of you are asking for the 2019 Aziracrow Cosplay Pics** in my inbox, and upon reflection how could we not. You’re gonna get so much more lore than you could’ve ever asked for or wanted,though. This is a long post, and I almost want to apologize for it. **Pre-HRT baby face pics ahead

For context, Damien and I have known each other since freshmen year of high school, 2012. In fact, we had like no classes together, and whenever one of us mentioned our nerd shit in class the first couple of days, kids kept telling us we HAD to meet each other. We finally met in a history class after they got transferred into it, and exchanged fandom memes back and forth after school on the sidewalk that day until our rides picked us up, and pretty much from then on freshmen year EVERYONE thought and asked if we were two little queer kids dating in our Catholic School.

And of course we weren’t— we just sat in each others’ laps a lot, or grabbed at each other a lot, and were a little inseparable for a while. Neither of us read anything into this. We were also, very importantly, cringey little 14-15 year old SuperWhoLock girlies, only I didn’t watch Supernatural, and they didn’t really watch Doctor Who, and we both thought Sherlock was pretty good. We supplemented our own love for our special little shows for the other. We were so inseparable that Damien’s 1-month-long-freshmen-boyfriend got them a Doctor Who gift for Valentine’s Day. The key to the Eleventh Doctor’s TARDIS. (My favorite, at the time, and also one that I knew they definitely sold at the comic book shop up the block.) They break up with him for giving them chocolates with nuts(allergy), and immediately give my little autistic ass the TARDIS key at lunch. Neither of us read anything into this. This is a common theme.

Damien, at some point, tells me to read a book they love, Good Omens. Due to my brain being the way it is, it takes about 3-4 business years, until college, to read Good Omens at their recommendation.

Damien is one of my best friends throughout high school and college. I also think it’s important to note that they were a jock, and I was a theatre kid. And the only time I convinced them to do something, a haunted house, with the drama club, to share a hobby maybe, they got hit in the head with a lightsaber by a 1st grader and needed stitches immediately after we started.

ANYWAYS.

I get Damien into cosplay a year or so later- 2013? 2014?

But it also takes us years to cosplay together- we would help with each others’ cosplays a lot. By that I mean I built a bunch of their props and they helped by getting the supplies with me and generally just hanging out. It takes us until 2019 to cosplay together.

Pretty much every week that summer, we built our wings from scratch, from wire and masking tape and ethically sourced goose and duck feathers and mall Chinese food. We go out and plan and shop for our gay little outfits. We sit and talk in their car, in my driveway, for ages every time, every night.

Another fun fact: this was the same convention that I painstakingly painted their tits blue for. And also painstakingly helped them wash blue off of in the shower, drunk, later that night. Unrelated, Aziraphale was the first cosplay I felt comfortable in.

Another fun fact: while getting ready for the photo shoot we booked that morning, my family dog scared my cat Almondmilk, and he peed all over my Aziraphale cosplay, and I yelled a bit. Our photographer rescheduled, blessedly, and a few hours later our photographer was asking how we wanted to stage the kiss, since of COURSE there had to be a kiss, but instead we sort of just—

“We’re really good friends— We’ve known each other since high school— We’ve already seen so much of each other this is no big deal— Do you need another shot?”

“Uh-huh,” Our photographer says, knowingly. “I think maybe one more, if we’re comfortable with—“

“Oh yeah, no problem at all-“

“Uh-huh, Yeah,” Our photographer says, knowingly. “Tilt your head up more.”

Not many couples can say they somehow managed to get their first kiss documented and edited in HD.

Damien got nauseous at the last day of the con, and the only thing we had to help were these honey sticks from a tea shop booth. They couldn’t open the little sticks themself, with their fangs in, so I took them and ripped them open with my teeth to give to them. Completely, totally unrelated, though, I think this was the summer I began to realize, perhaps realize once more, that I was so absolutely done for for Damien.

Anyways all of that went SO well, that we were planning every Ineffable Husbands cosplay we could. Somehow, our most logical next choice was a fun and very quick, messy little boudoir photo shoot in my college dorm room, while they were visiting me 3+ hours away from their school.

Down so bad you lovingly pack wigs to go to college with so that you can have your best friend sit in your lap for your little ship.

We did that as Just Good Friends, literally in front of an old friend who took the photos and helped us stage the poses a bit.

We went to sleep that night in that bed. It was big enough to fit 3, maybe even 4 people if you were in a pinch. The bed was not treated like it was that big. (Note, we now sleep on a full sized bed, and it’s suddenly too small.)

And we talked for a while and we went to bed and all I could think about was how much I loved them no matter the sense of the word. And how many nights we sat talking in your car in my driveway for way too long, wondering if I should ask if I could kiss you. (A quick pronoun change, because I know you’re reading this.)

And that’s how Good Omens helped me realize, in retrospect of 2019, how in love I was with my Crowley best friend.

I apologize in advance for the amount of autism youre gonna have to read. Red team, the team that Simmons is on, has been the comedic butt of every joke for *years,* while blue team carries most of the plot. In recent seasons, individual members of red team have been given their own development. I won't get into detail about it, but almost every member of red team was given their own lore, motives, character growth, etc. Everyone except Simmons. Every opportunity to give Simmons his own individual depth as a character that didn't ALSO INVOLVE GRIF had been used as a joke. During an episode covering worst fears, Grif faces his own trauma from boot camp training, while his sister watches their childhood home burn down (I'm pretty sure, anyways. Its been a while since ive seen the season and you'd have to pay me to watch it again). When they get to Simmons' worst fear, it's used as a throwaway joke about penises (this part i am sure about. I remember being so mad i had to pause the video and sit there for a second). The writer of those seasons one time shared snippets of script that was cut from final production that supposedly featured an arc where simmons is tortured for information, but then after being asked about it, the same writer revealed that the ""torture"" was actually gonna be a joke about him getting his nails filed. With the series stuck in perpetual limbo due to Rooster Teeth's inability to write RvB well AND their constant scandals (unsurprising, honestly), Simmons has been stuck a boring, depthless character for the last 5 or so years, give or take.

Propaganda:

The writing in the newer seasons has been so tremendously bad that there existed a trend for a good year where the RvB fanbase made memes reacting to fake situations that they WISHED happened instead of what actually happened in the new seasons. I have read fanfiction of potential Simmons backstories since I was 11 (for reference, I'll be 20 in a few days) that are better written than actual official writing for Simmons. Simmons has referenced an abusive home life on more than one occassion (again, mostly used for jokes, but this dates back to the early seasons where everything is a joke for red team) that could easily be used as a backstory for him, but has since been ignored. Which is strange, because Grif's exact same joke comments about a tough home life in the early seasons WERE utilized to further his backstory in the new seasons. Another extremely often under-utilized fact about simmons is that he's a CYBORG he has CYBORG BODY PARTS and they are NEVER REFERENCED. NEVER UTILIZED. I HAVE MET PEOPLE THAT FORGOT HE WAS EVEN A CYBORG AND ASKED ME WHY I WAS DRAWING HIM LIKE THAT IN MY VIDEOS. Also, I don't really like throwing around the word queer-baiting, especially when it comes to fandom spaces, so this is more like... queer-teasing??? But Rooster Teeth loves playing along with their fanbase with Grif and Simmons potentially being a couple (social media posts putting them into couples posts, using them for valentines cards, having the characters use the ship name to address themselves in spin-off non-canon episodes), but then tiptoe around the idea of actually making them a couple in any of their canon media. Like it's not slowburn at this point it's been 20 years and we've gotten vague jokes about fucking in a broom closet and beating someone up for asking them to kiss. Im so tired of the will-they-wont-they i dont even want them canon anymore i just want to know if theyre actually gonna do it or not for the love of god. Tldr rvb writers love using simmons as the ""haha nerd thinks hes smart but hes actually stupid and embarrassing"" trope and keep only writing him like that despite every other character around him getting developed, and with the series in limbo he's now stuck like that. Free my boy, Rooster Teeth. Let me write him I promise I'll do a good job.
