1. I'm looking for a story that was set in more modern times and Wangxian are both female, LZ moved to America and was chronically injured, sometimes stuck in a wheelchair, believes WWX dead until she runs into her in America, LSZ is being brought up at the Lan compound by LXC @readingdj
FOUND? 🔒 everything's going to be discovered by everythingispoetry (M, 98k, wangxian, F/F, Modern Cultivation, Reunions, Soft Wangxian, Female LWJ, Female WWX, Family Feels, Soft LQR, they are all softies, Starts with angst ends with fluff, it's a progression, bamf everyone really, Hurt/Comfort, Disability)

2. I remember it was on ao3 and Wei ying was presumed dead from the waterborne abyss but then washes ashore some days later alive I think he was found by LQR or LXC @i-cant-think-of-one-meh
~*~
3. Hi I have two very vague fics that I'm trying to find A) a fic where yuan named the burial mounds bunny mountain or valley? Something to do with bunnies. I remember it was a yiling Wei sect fic but that's it. B) a fic where Wei Wuxian pretends to date lan Wangji. I remember lan Wangji had like a see through wall in his bedroom or at least a big house/apartment? Or something and Wei Wuxian stayed with him for a bit. It could have been a sugar baby AU but I know it was fake/pretend au and that they slept together. I think they had a misunderstanding or something and broke up then confessed to each other? Sorry all I really remember is them going to Lan Wangji's apartment at one point 😅

4. So I came back to the fandom after about a year and a half and I can’t for the life of me find a story. I don’t remember much, but it was like a murder mystery or something. Or a threat to Jin Ling’s life. But at the end, a girl was killing people with voodoo dolls and was trying to kill Wei Ying with one.
I’m hoping this is in the same story, but they were in a lighthouse and a resentful ghost was murdered and sealed in the structure.
I’m sorry I’m not giving you much, but hopefully someone knows what I’m talking about. Thank you!
FOUND? And I Will Call You Home by Spodumene (E, 42k, WangXian, Case Fic, Post-Canon, Getting Together, Pining, Angst with a Happy Ending, Love Confessions, Canon-Typical Violence, Blood, Ghosts, Suicide, Explicit Sexual Content, Attempted Sexual Assault, LWJ whump, Original Character Death(s))

5. Hii hope you all are well. Um this fic was modern wwx somehow getting transported into the wuxia version and kind of gives therapy to everyone I believe they were also viewing the past it's not rly a jiang family fix it but I think the ppl that died came back. I think wwx mentions that ljy in the modern world is older than lwj @thatperson0-0
Hi I'm number 5. Sadly the fic was not found :(. If it helps, modern wwx is engaged/married/dating modern lwj and when the two wwxs switch, past wwx and modern lwj have yk in the modern world and when he comes back he mentions wanting to try the stuff he learnt with past lwj.
NOT FOUND! Wrong Turn, Right Place by diamondbruise (E, 71k, WangXian, Time Travel, kind of, it’s more reality travel but there’s modern wwx and cultivator lwj, Mutual Pining, Angst with a Happy Ending, Jealousy, Idiots in Love, Slow Burn, Misunderstandings, Cultural Differences)

6. hello I would like to request help in finding a modern Wangxian fanfic on Ao3 in which they are I think starting university & WY has 2 cores one golden core and a dark core from resentful energy with I think a reincarnation theme too for WY seeing LZ triggers both his cores & memories then faints which leads to LZ building a barrier around them & helps WY merge both cores together to save him also both their families are alive with baoshan sanren being close with Wangxian like a grandmother also LZ burns baoshan sanren hand when activating the shield also LJY & LSZ are immortals with LSZ gone into a meditative state and that JWY is an idol as he is unable to cultivate as he returned the core back to WY this particular piece of info I think was mentioned in the ending notes, this is all that I remember of it hope it helps. thxs @1p1rose1
FOUND?🔒 Because you loved me by ThisIsWhereTheMagicHappens (T, 133k, WIP, WangXian, NieLan, SongXiao, Canon Compliant, Modern AU, College/University, Everyone Lives/Nobody Dies, supportive family, POV Alternating, a lot of cultivation, they reincarnated, but not everyone remembers, the lan and wei parents are alive and caring, Happy Ending, No war, Hurt/Comfort, Mpreg, magical mpreg) but it doesn't match exactly

7. I need fic finder help 😭 I cannot for the life of me find this one fic or remember the name, but I remember it very clearly.
So the premise was that the Lan soloed the SSC after the Wen attacked Cloud Recesses, and LWJ was sect leader (and chief cultivator??) after. He demanded a person be given to him (as compensation?? To show the sects alliance to him?? I forgot the exact reason) and WWX saw it coming a mile away that it would be him chosen to be handed over. Everyone was terrified of LWJ and was certain WWX would be miserable, but LWJ knew it would be WWX they sent and because Wen Qing vouched for him LWJ treated WWX like he deserved instead of how the sects thought he'd be, and got the shock of their life when they ended up married.
The last chapter I read (and the last update I saw, it was a (nearly finished?) wip last I read) Wen Qing sent a notice that LXC, who'd been in a coma for the entire fic up to that point, was awake.
If anyone can find this fic, I'd be eternally greatful 😭

8. There is a fic I'm looking for. After wwx comes back in Mo village he decides to just stay there and run the town for several years as mo xuanyu and I can't seem to find it on AO3 @mortavita
FOUND? focal, filler, and line by bosbie (T, 26k, wangxian, canon divergence, flower shop au, fluff, hurt/comfort, pining, falling in love, WWX is not recognized in Dafan mountain, slice of life, WIP) WWX stays in Mo Village and is noticed by LWJ 3 years later the out-of-season flowers "Mo Xuanyu" sells have touches of resentful energy on them

9. Does anyone have that threadfic where omegaverse a!WWX donated sperm for money and o!LWJ bought it? LWJ had two(?) kids with the third on the way when the two of them met and toward the end one of the kids got injured and had to go to the hospital which is how they found out that WWX was the donor
~*~
10. I’m looking for a fic where Wei Wuxian is helping Lan Wangji move in, only to get pinned to a sex bench. Turns out Wei Wuxian is one of a very small subset of males who can get pregnant, Lan Wangji found his e-reader, and calmly decided to divest them both of their virginity. 12. Hi, I’m looking for an abo fic (o!wwx and a!lwj) where wwx is sent to the cloud recesses in an arranged marriage bc madam yu thought he would be miserable there. Lwj is super cold to him at first and I think wwx is left kneeling in the cold during his preheat? Lwj also doesn’t want kids with him, which makes wwx upset. 13. Hii this I'd for fic finder
I'm looking for a fic where wwx and wq pretend to be married, a yuan as their child when wwx confronted the jins about qionqi path, in the end I remember he also married lz ( after a misunderstanding where he accused him of infidelity). Thank u ☆
Hii I'm number 13 on the recent fic finder, it's unfortunately not what was recommended :')
I remember more of the story , wwx and wq were married out of convenience to save her family, they had children together but never slept together, when wwx told lwj he loved him , lwj accused him of being bored of his wife or something (they got married in the end, there was implied mpreg I think & lwj was referred to as second madam wei)

It had maybe two chapters then didn’t update for like a year and I gave up and closed the tab for it but that was a big mistake because even unfinished I still think about it for some reason

18. hi! I just remembered a fic I read a while ago but I can't find it now and I really wanted to read it again. So what I remember about it is that it's set in cql verse and wei wuxian was taken to the nightless city. He was planning on learning about wrh's demonic cultivation and so he kind of tries to make wen rouhan favor him while secretly learning demonic cultivation. Wrh fell for it and he kinda made wwx his consort and lwj thought wwx really betrayed them. please help me find it T~T
I can remember but I can't find... But I remember that I think WWX still had a golden core. He made Chenqing to let WRH think he was only playing music to help him concentrate on creating the Yin Tiger Seal but actually WWX was using it to use demonic cultivation to create weaknesses in the Seal that he could exploit later (and also to try to protect his golden core grin the resentment). Chenqing becomes semi-sentient and wants to help and protect him. In the end he shatters the Seal while shielding everyone else from the backlash and almost dies in the process, because he drops Chenqing and so she can't protect him.

Hi! I’m the fic finder #19. Thank you for helping but unfortunately I think this is not the one. Though they are similar, it still different because in the fic I read, there is a scene where wwx scolded the bunnies like saying ‘You only like me now because I’m pregnant’ like that.

Chengxian for the ask game?
thanks for the ask!
Well you know. This goes without saying.
What made you ship it?
Since I started with the donghua, I would say the hyperspecific scene in the Xuanwu Cave right after Wei Wuxian has gotten branded and everyone's going "fuuuuck", and Chengxian exchange a very meaningful look and Wei Wuxian says, "I have gotten hurt in Lotus Pier before too. When have I not swim the fastest?". The way they looked at each other altered my brain chemicals <3. (Also yes, lmao, the donghua is very funny because it decides to make Jiang Cheng this mega softie in the first flashback and even adds this extra dialogue during the Waterborne Abyss where they are fighting the water ghouls where he tells Wei Wuxian "we have got it" when in the novel Wei Wuxian's narration is like "as usual, Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian were competing". Heartbreaking how they completely dropped the ball after the XiYao conversation in S2 E1). The one that did solidify my stance is the famous choking-crying scene because......yeah, I won't say it. It is always heart breaking to see children lashing out in the moments of grief, especially this one that highlights how they deal with it—Jiang Cheng angry and lashing out, Wei Wuxian putting a hand over his eyes, both not wanting to show that they are crying, the rain starting—the cinematography is beautiful.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
*gestures* Everything.
It's about the grouchy "why do you have to always play a hero (for the others, just be mine)" as an act of love, it's about walking away as an act of protection (duty is the death of love, honour is the death of love), it's about the mourning for thirteen years, it's about missing your home no matter where you go, no matter who you are with (because it can never be enough—it's always a convenient excuse), it's about acts of self sacrifice as a love language, it's about the "raging ecstasy" and "vengeful wrath" when faced with your childhood "sweetheart", it's about broken promises, it's about childhood dreams and always wanting to stay together and failing always. But most importantly, it's about a lot of yearning disguised as angry barking (Jiang Cheng) and joking around (Wei Wuxian).
It's also about how no matter what Wei Wuxian is narrating, Jiang Cheng filters into his thoughts. Oh, the kids are flying a kite? Jiang Cheng is there. Wei Wuxian is eating? Jiang Cheng is there. The reverse is true too—they are too intimately connected and impossible to be separated.
Above all, it's about Jiang Cheng bringing Chenqing to the Guanyin Temple in perfect condition and throwing it to Wei Wuxian. Above all, it's about Jin Ling being threatened and in that brief moment of confusion, they start yelling at each other, using "the same voice they used as children".
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
I don't think I know enough about the popular opinions to say? Considering the popular opinion people have going on half the time involves arguing on how much Jiang Cheng's actions were justified (what did he do. He didn't do a single thing until Jin Zixuan died and we see him at the Pledge Rally and he doesn't even get REALLY upset until Jiang Yanli dies. Is the problem with the fake duel??? Which is admittedly something you would only see these two come up with, because yes, the only way to avoid a problem is to publicly fall out with your martial brother. But I have never seen anyone express a problem with this detective novel levels of drama, so maybe it's the first siege???) but I don't think most of the shippers have a problem with that? But if this question means unpopular opinion in general, well—Chengxian is an unpopular opinion in general, I think. But otherwise, I will leave this line here:

The MXTX leads as dogs you come home to (forgive me Wei Wuxian, I have sinned).
So let's start with Wei Ying. 😁
Wei Wuxian - Wei Wuxian would be the kind of puppy to greet you as soon as you got home. Problem is, he might not be greeting you at the front door..... He'd be greeting you from outside the door, with wet sloppy kisses, while being covered in mud because he broke out again. It's a consistent problem. You're happy to see your little bud but now you have to bathe him, and double the locks, AGAIN!
Lan Wangji: Lan Wangji is mostly a quiet bunny rabbit but we're doing dogs right now. I'm not the best with dog breeds but he'd be the kind that doesn't bark a lot. He is very happy that you're home and you can only see that because his tail is wagging slowly from time to time. However, you have to come and greet him because he's shy. Then he'll spend the rest of the day at your side because he's also clingy.
Xie Lian: Xie Lian is that tiny puppy that truly means well, he just gets up to the weirdest shit while you're out because of his bad luck. When you come home the house is a mess because he accidentally fell off the table, into the trash bin knocking it over, made an attempt to clean with the mop and poured water all over the floor, tried to mop it up with his fur and is now a soaking wet sad but hopeful mess. (Xie Lian is adorable (TT) ). You got a long clean up ahead of you. Xie Lian isn't allowed to help but he gets lots of pats when you're done.
Hua Cheng - Hua Cheng would be a really big dog with separation anxiety. He's happy when you're home and gets dramatically sad when you leave. He tries to be brave but he's practically crying as soon as you close the door, and that's where he stays until you come home. 💀 He will try to gather gifts for you for when you come home. His favourite toys, maybe some flowers or two, but he wants maximum attention when you return and will stay by your side all day long. ♡♡
Shen Qingqiu - He is a high maintenance purebred. He's very well behaved but he loves being reminded that you care with gifts when you return from work. He really misses you, even if he acts like he didn't and like he's happier when you're not around. His favourite thing to do when you come home is watch television together so he can judge everyone who isn't you.
Luo Binghe - You thought you left Binghe at home, but you did not. He's at work with you. 💀 He's waiting for you to come down so you can go home together. He's a big dog so plenty of people are scared of him. They don't know that he's a huge softie who cries a lot and just wants cuddles.

Beetober 2022 Day 26 - Stick
This fic is inspired by Remember, Don’t You Hide and @felinesomnambulist‘s wonderful agenda of getting JFM punched in his smarmy face.
The Yunmeng Jiang Corporation building has never looked this tall or daunting to Jiang Cheng than it does right now.
“Are you sure you’re okay going in there?” Nie Mingjue asks him, putting a comforting hand to Jiang Cheng’s back. “You don’t have to. You don’t owe your father anything.”
“I just–” Jiang Cheng lets out a harsh breath. “I just want to hear what he has to say.”
A small part of himself hopes that his father realized his mistake and is calling Jiang Cheng here to ask him to come back but in truth Jiang Cheng knows that it’s unlikely.
His father probably found another fault with him and his work even though he hasn’t been working for Yunmeng Jiang for almost four months now.
“Alright,” Nie Mingjue gives back, even though Jiang Cheng knows he hates this.
He’s even more grateful that Nie Mingjue is supporting him through this despite his own feelings on the matter. And he made his feelings regarding Jiang Fengmian and his treatment of Jiang Cheng abundantly clear when Jiang Cheng showed up on his doorstep with nothing but a bag and proceeded to have a complete break-down.
Jiang Cheng will forever be grateful for the way Nie Mingjue took him in without question and then proceeded to more or less quietly fume about Jiang Fengmian’s treatment of him.
So yes, Jiang Cheng knows exactly just how much Nie Mingjue would like to keep his father away from him and so it means even more to him that Nie Mingjue is by his side, offering a safe space and comfort.
They finally make their way in; Jiang Cheng is trying to keep his head down and doesn’t make eye contact with anyone. The shame of being yelled at by his father in front of everyone and then being thrown out of the company that should be his birth right is still sitting too deep. He’s aware that Nie Mingjue is making this more difficult for him though, even inadvertently, because of course he draws eyes as the CEO of a rivalling company.
A company that recently has ceased all their cooperation with Yunmeng Jiang, creating more than a bit of chaos.
Jiang Cheng had tried to stop him from doing so, but Nie Mingjue had been adamant once he learned how Jiang Fengmian treated him–and most of the other employees to boot, especially when they had to work with Wei Wuxian.
Apparently Nie Mingjue makes it a point to not work with companies who mistreat their employees; it’s the main reason he doesn’t work with Wen Corp. and once he learned about Yunmeng Jiang it was an easy step for him.
Jiang Cheng had been on the fence about that for a while, right until he learned that Nie Mingjue offered a job to everyone who quit at Yunmeng Jiang or was thrown out along with or right after Jiang Cheng.
At heart, Nie Mingjue is a huge softie Jiang Cheng has discovered.
Jiang Fengmian’s secretary is giving him a rueful look when Jiang Cheng steps out of the elevator and he manages a smile for her in return.
She has always been nice to him and Jiang Cheng finds it hard to blame other people for his father’s misgivings.
“It’s good to see you, A-Cheng,” she says despite how she shakes her head at Nie Mingjue. “I’m afraid he won’t be allowed to go in as well.”
“I know,” Jiang Cheng reassures her and briefly leans into Nie Mingjue’s side. “He’s just here for moral support. Can he wait here?”
“Sure, sweetie,” she gives back and then points at the door. “Your father is waiting for you.”
“Great,” Jiang Cheng mutters even as he straightens up. “Time to face the music then.”
“I’m right here and if you want me in there I don’t care what your father wants. Just say my name and I’ll be there,” Nie Mingjue quietly tells him and Jiang Cheng manages a small smile for him.
Just knowing that Nie Mingjue will be there no matter what is giving Jiang Cheng enough strength to face his father.
He takes one last deep breath before he enters his father’s office.
Jiang Fengmian is standing with his back to Jiang Cheng, his hands clasped behind his back as he looks out of the window and Jiang Cheng can’t shake the thought that he looks like every generic movie villain.
It makes him almost laugh out loud and he tries to hold on to that thought. Maybe it will make this conversation easier.
“You’re late,” Jiang Fengmian says, even though Jiang Cheng damn well knows that he’s not.
He made sure to arrive on the dot but he doesn’t have the energy to argue with his father over something as inconsequential as this.
But he’s not going to apologize either.
“You wanted to see me?” Jiang Cheng asks and flinches when his father turns around to glare at him.
“Yes. I’m sure you can imagine why.”
“I can’t actually,” Jiang Cheng says, even though he wants to cower like he always used to when his father narrows his eyes at him in that particular way.
“That’s very disappointing,” Jiang Fengmian tells him and Jiang Cheng tries his best to hold back a huff.
He has always been a disappointment to his father so this really shouldn’t come as a surprise to Jiang Fengmian.
“Clearly,” Jiang Cheng can’t help but to say, his voice a little more cutting than usual and Jiang Fengmian slams his hand on the desk.
“Do not take that tone with me,” he says, his voice raised and Jiang Cheng fights the instinct to take a step back.
He shouldn’t have to be afraid of his dad, and he’s not going to be anymore.
“Why am I here?” Jiang Cheng wants to know and his father sneers at him.
“I’ve been asking myself the same question for twenty-two years already,” he mutters under his breath but Jiang Cheng hears him loud and clear.
He hates that his father can still hurt him like this.
“You’re here,” he then says, louder this time, “to explain your poor conduct.”
“My poor conduct,” Jiang Cheng repeats, at a loss. “Regarding what?”
“This.” Jiang Fengmian throws a stack of papers onto the desk in front of Jiang Cheng, who bends down to read them over, flipping through the sheets.
They are all reports about Wei Wuxian’s work in the past four months and honestly, the results are what Jiang Cheng would expect.
Every idea and project Wei Wuxian worked on since Jiang Cheng was forced to leave the company crashed and burned, costing the company thousands of dollars.
“This seems to be something you should discuss with Wei Wuxian,” Jiang Cheng says, turning his attention back to his father. “I don’t see how I am involved with this.”
“Of course you don’t,” Jiang Fengmian sneers. “This is all your fault!”
“How can this be my fault if I haven’t even been working here?” Jiang Cheng demands to know and the last piece of hope he had for this conversation shrivels in his chest.
It’s clear his father is only going to find more fault with Jiang Cheng.
“You must have said something to the team Wei Wuxian is working with. Clearly they are sabotaging him to make you look better.”
At that Jiang Cheng scoffs.
He worked his ass off to make Wei Wuxian’s ideas work; he handled everything starting from wrangling Wei Wuxian into his lab so he would actually come up with ideas all the way to advertising Wei Wuxian’s products to the board and then the entire production.
He doesn’t need anyone to make him look better; he was already looking damn good on his own, as the many job offers he got once news hit the streets that he was available prove. Jiang Fengmian might not have noticed it but Jiang Cheng’s name is listed under almost every contract, on every product that ever left this building.
“I have no need for that,” Jiang Cheng says, meeting his father’s glare head on. “Maybe you should look elsewhere for the fault here. I have nothing to do with Wei Wuxian’s inability to make his projects work.”
He only had to do with making them work but he’s not going to explain that to Jiang Fengmian. All the records are there. If his father really wanted to find a solution to this problem then he should have just checked those.
But of course his father only sees Wei Wuxian fail and he comes running to accuse Jiang Cheng.
It’s almost pathetic now that Jiang Cheng thinks about it, the constant need to undermine Jiang Cheng to make sure that Wei Wuxian can shine.
“Don’t you dare slander the work your brother does. He has always been the most hard-working out of the two of you.”
“Oh, really? Where is he then? Maybe you should call him up so he can explain the problems he ran into to us.”
Jiang Cheng allows himself a vindictive smile when his father freezes at his words.
“He’s not here yet, right? Has he even been here once this week?”
“What would you know about the work of a genius? Your brother needs his rest, he probably stayed up all night.”
“Drinking, yeah,” Jiang Cheng gives back, picking up one of the reports and shaking it at Jiang Fengmian. “This one right here, that idea comes from a drunk night,” Jiang Cheng says. “He pitched it to me several times in the past but it simply doesn’t work and there is no way to make it work either.”
“You pathetic, jealous bastard,” Jiang Fengmian hisses at him and Jiang Cheng rears back as if he has been hit. “Just because of your inability to make even the easiest things work you have no right to slander your brother like that.”
“I made all of these work in the past,” Jiang Cheng gives back once he found his footing again. “I am the only reason anything Wei Wuxian ever came up with works. And you have the proof right there,” he says as he shakes the damned papers at his father.
Jiang Fengmian’s face darkens with anger and then it’s as if time itself slows down. Jiang Cheng sees how his father’s hand moves, he sees the arch it’s making and then it hits his own hand. Jiang Cheng lets go of the papers as the sound of a stick breaking fills the room.
Jiang Cheng has a second to wonder where that came from before searing pain from his hand hits him.
“Fuck,” Jiang Cheng hisses, cradling his hand to his chest. He’s reasonably sure it’s broken, throbbing in time with his pulse right now and Jiang Cheng turns huge eyes on his father.
“You broke my hand,” he whispers, voice tight with pain and Jiang Fengmian scoffs.
“I always knew you were weak if something like that can break you,” he says and Jiang Cheng blinks at him.
He feels as if he’s having an out of body experience and he can’t stand the look of his father one moment longer.
“Mingjue,” he calls out, his voice a tad louder than normally and with a desperate edge to it and just like Nie Mingjue promised, he’s there in a second.
“What happened here?” he immediately asks when he sees Jiang Cheng cradling his hand and Jiang Cheng can’t help himself, he moves closer towards Nie Mingjue who gently takes Jiang Cheng’s hand in his.
“I think it’s broken,” Jiang Cheng whispers and sees Nie Mingjue glaring at Jiang Fengmian who makes the most innocent face he can muster.
“An accident,” Jiang Fengmian smoothly says and Nie Mingjue’s jaw works.
“Surely,” he sarcastically gives back and turns back to Jiang Cheng.
“What do you want to do?”
“I want to press charges, I think,” Jiang Cheng says, not allowing his guilty conscience to stop him.
This is not his father; this is just some CEO who physically assaulted Jiang Cheng.
“We will do that then,” Nie Mingjue promises him and it seems as if only now does Jiang Fengmian realize who stepped into his office.
“Mingjue, my dear boy, what are you doing here?” he asks, his voice sugary sweet and Jiang Cheng feels sick to his stomach.
“That’s Nie Mingjue to you,” Nie Mingjue coldly says. “And I’m here for Wanyin.”
“Wanyin, huh,” Jiang Fengmian repeats, his face darkening again. “Is this why you stopped all business between our companies? Because my son is whoring himself out to you? Tainting your mind with his outlandish talk, just like he did with the employees here?”
Jiang Cheng sucks in a surprised breath because this is not what is happening at all. He is not sleeping with Nie Mingjue and he is not actually enough of a bitch to ask Nie Mingjue to cease all work relationships with his family.
“You will take that back,” Nie Mingjue growls out, clenching his teeth together and Jiang Cheng is afraid of what will happen if he should lose his temper, so he steps between them.
“Mingjue, don’t,” he implores him.
He only belatedly realizes that he should have talked to his father.
“You are clearly your mother’s son. Getting into bed with the first good guy you meet and then thoroughly ruining him,” Jiang Fengmian sneers and it’s so outlandish that Jiang Cheng freezes before he slowly turns around.
“Did you just call yourself a good guy? Did you just compare yourself to Mingjue? You’re not even half the man he is!” Jiang Cheng shouts out.
He sees his father’s hand coming this time as well but he’s too slow to move out of the way so Jiang Fengmian’s hand meets him squarely in the face.
Jiang Cheng’s head snaps to the side, pain blooming up in his cheek but before Jiang Cheng even raises his own–still throbbing–hand to his face, Nie Mingjue steps past him.
There’s a meaty thud and then Jiang Fengmian crumbles to the floor.
Jiang Cheng can only stare.
“Fucking bastard,” Nie Mingjue mutters as he shakes out his hand, turning back to Jiang Cheng with a concerned look on his face.  “Let me see,” he softly  says, reaching out for Jiang Cheng’s face to turn it around.
“You hit my father,” Jiang Cheng mutters, letting Nie Mingjue inspect his cheek.
“I did,” Nie Mingjue grimy says. “It doesn’t look too bad, but we should cool it.”
“You hit my father. For me,” Jiang Cheng says, still not believing what just happened and Nie Mingjue winces.
“I should have hit him faster, too,” he still admits and sends a scathing glance at the still unconscious heap on the floor. “It’s the least he deserves for what he said and did to you. And not just today.”
Jiang Cheng is pretty sure that his mouth drops open as he continues to stare at Nie Mingjue who seems to grow increasingly uncomfortable under the scrutiny.
“You can yell at me if you want, I know I shouldn’t have lost my temper. Well, I still maintain that he deserved it but—”
“I think I would like to kiss you actually,” Jiang Cheng gets out and effectively shuts Nie Mingjue up.
“Oh,” he breathes out. “Let’s wait with that for a less emotionally charged moment, alright,” Nie Mingjue then softly says even as he cups Jiang Cheng’s face in his hand. “But I’m not against that, just making that clear right now. I would welcome it, actually.”
Jiang Cheng can only nod at that even as he sighs. Nie Mingjue is probably right; it’s not smart to do this right now.
“Let’s call the police and an ambulance, alright?” Nie Mingjue jolts him out of his thoughts and Jiang Cheng flinches.
“We can’t! He’ll press charges against you!”
“Rightfully so,” Nie Mingjue says with a shrug. “But you get to press charges as well and that is really all that matters. Plus, I want to have that hand of yours checked-out as soon as possible,” Nie Mingjue then adds, carefully taking Jiang Cheng’s arm to inspect the hand again.
It’s swollen a bit already and the pain is still throbbing in time with Jiang Cheng’s cheek.
“I don’t want to get you into trouble,” Jiang Cheng still mutters because he doesn’t want Nie Mingjue to have to face consequences for what he did but he only smiles at him.
“I got myself into trouble, so that’s alright. And seriously. I want you to press charges against him, it’s the only thing I deserves for hurting you.”
“If you’re sure,” Jiang Cheng mutters and he only moves for the phone when Nie Mingjue nods. “Fine then.”
He can’t deny that pressing charges against Jiang Fengmian for physical assault is going to feel very good but he still worries for Nie Mingjue.
“Maybe they will let me off easy if they think I did it in defence of you. You already had your hand broken after all,” Nie Mingjue tries to reassure him, clearly picking up on Jiang Cheng’s worries.
“Hopefully,” he mutters, briefly leaning into Nie Mingjue before he finally calls the police and an ambulance.
“But even if not, I’m still right here,” Nie Mingjue promises him, pulling Jiang Cheng closer to himself again and pressing a kiss to his head. “And I’m not going to leave.”
“Thank you,” Jiang Cheng breathes out and hides his face in Nie Mingjue’s chest. It took a while but now everything is hitting him all at once and Jiang Cheng starts to shake not even a moment later.
“It’s alright, I’ve got you,” Nie Mingjue whispers, hugging him close and Jiang Cheng dares to believe him, unconscious father on the floor and broken hand be damned.
If Nie Mingjue says it will be alright then it will be. Jiang Cheng trusts him enough to believe that. And no matter what, as long as Nie Mingjue is by his side he will be able to face these upcoming things.

"That's no way to talk about sect leader jin"
Tumblr media
No, but imagine, it's not Meng Yao that says it. It's Nie Mingjue. Post-breakup and after Meng Yao has joined the Jin sect. In Nie Mingjue's defence, it had been a very long Conference and the Jin were being even more obnoxious than usual.
Imagine Jin Zixun's and Jin Guangsan's outrage. Imagine poor Lan Xichen trying (and only partially succeeding) to hide his laughter. Imagine Jin Guangyao having to rapidly re-evaluate many things because, wow! Da-ge went there and he is not backtracking either. Nie Huaissang is also having a great time because he never thought he'd see the day when da-ge starts a piece of hilarious gossip.
Nie Mingjue is torn between being embarrassed at blurting it out and wanting to stick to his guns because where's the lie?! Also Lan Xichen is doing his secret laughing thing that he's been doing less and less since the Sunshot Campaing and Jin Guangyao is actually sincerely smiling for once and ok, Nie Mingjue is secretly an absolute softy for those he cares about, alright?
Of course the gossip spreads like wildfire. Whether it was Nie Huaissang, Madame Jin someone else entirely that's responsible is anyone's guess. The results are hilarious. Of the most notable examples is Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng putting their tense detente away so that they can (loudly and publically) debate how well Jin Guangshan's clients must pay him, given how rich the Jin sect is.
Even more spectacular is Lan Wangji (who had been initially dragged to the Conference by his brother) strolling by, randomly saying a number and walking away. JC: 🤯 Wwx: 😍
Lan Qiren has to sit down and take a few deep breaths because how on earth would his perfect nephew have any idea how much a prostitute gets paid? He doesn't actually. He just picked a random number. If that number happens to be a multiple of whatever Wei Wuxian quoted last that's no one's business. Not that Lan Qiren needs to know that. Lan Wangji says it with complete certainty so everyone who hears him automatically believes him. There's a lot more gossip after that day.
Wei Wuxian is having Feelings about this new gossip. Lots of them. And none of them are appropriate for civilised society.

↳ 8 Shows To Get To Know Me
Thank you @jyuubin for tagging me <3
I don't know if the shows I'm about to talk about will make you learn things about me but they're pretty much my favourites so i'm happy to talk about them ^^
18 Again
This drama was thought-provoking and beautiful in such an authentic way. Seeing a father learn to know his children through the eyes of someone their age was so tender yet so heartbreaking. This drama shed a light on how complex the human condition is and how people have more than one layer to their personalities. Hence the need to always be kind to one another. I don't remember all the details of that drama but that's the drama which made me discover Lee Do Hyun and his amazing and detailed acting ^^
Kimi no Koto Dake Mite Itai
One of the most beautiful kiss brought to screen. If you know, you know. Such a heartfelt drama :(( The absurdity of life doesn’t seem too insuperable when that life is lived while having the well-beings of others in mind. (Yes I am quoting myself, that's embarrassing. That phrase is from the review I wrote on MDL). That's basically what this series is all about. Loved the cinematography and the gentle vibe of the show (that makes no sense but it's hard to put into words what this series made me feel ><).
Avatar: The Last Airbender
The characters' developments in that show!!! I love well-written shows and this one was a blessing. I don't think any animated series can top this one. There is so many good things about it: flawed yet likable characters, thought-provoking dialogues, amazing story arcs, genuine friendships etc. (Iroh's the best character and we can all agree on that ^^)
You're My Sky
Such an underrated series!! Please do watch it, it's amazing! The three main couples all have different stories and everyone acts so well :( A well-written show with a beautiful cinematography? Count me in!
The Untamed
Oh my! Where to start? The Untamed was my first Asian drama and I've never moved on from it. I tend to hyperfixate a lot and so I usually quickly move on once I've finished a series/movie/book etc. but I could never move on from this show. The angst here is peak perfection. Wei Wuxian is one of the best character ever written and I love him to pieces. So many heart-breaking story arcs, so many amazing characters... Just so much pain but it's beautiful???
Weak Hero Class 1
One of the rare series which showed how genuine male friendships could be. WHC1 was really hard to watch but it was worth it. I am still trying to recover from it tbh... I just hate how cruel and brutal the human kind can be. I don't want to start any discourse but I liked Beom Seok. It doesn't mean I was ever okay with what he did but he is a much more complex character than most people think.
Beyond Evil
THE most amazing drama ever produced. I have written so many in-depths analyses on this drama — it's ridiculous — but it just gives you an idea of how impressive this drama was (both acting-wise and script-wise). I'll stop there because I won't be able to stop myself from rambling otherwise ><
180 Degrees Longitude Passes Through Us
I've written such an emotional review on MDL... Loved it so much. Brilliant performances, amazing dramatic references, stunning dialogues, gorgeous cinematography and a realistic plot. This drama sure felt like an out-of-time experience. I'm still sad I can't get my hands on HQ scenepacks because I would have loved to make some edits :(
So I'm basically someone who loves well-written series with nuanced and flawed characters. I like analysing things and I greatly appreciate subtle acting. I'm also a big softie lol so I like slow-burn relationships full of gentleness.
I'm tagging @ohmybitna <3 (I hope you haven't already done it. Feel free not to do it if you don't feel like. No pressure!)

Note
I wish you would write a fic where Xue Yang went to the Burial Mounds to learn from the Yiling Laozu when he was young and he grew up decent and with a baby brother (Lan Sizhui) but then everything happens and he and Sizhui end up with Lan Wangji anyway. And he doesn't usually go for help when he's in trouble, but Lan Wangji manages to gain his trust enough that he starts to go after him for help, in a shy and maybe even petulant way and Lan Wangji starts to smile like the snow is melting to him and Yue Yang it's kinda thrown off by that smile because the only other person who would smile like that to him was Wei Wuxian and he misses his gege so much. And they start to really really bond, and when he's like 18 he's glued to Lan Wangji and whenever Lan Wangji has to go out, he goes with him, unless he has classes because then Lan Wangji is not that cool to let him skip classes.
[OoOoO. This made a little scene pop into my head, so here's part of the first meeting. No promises to continue but this has intrigued me as an idea, so who's to say! I've obviously played with the ages since in either canon, Xue Yang is at the very least a late teenager when Wei Wuxian is known as the Yiling Patriarch. You know me, I look canon in the eye and backflip out the window, that’s just how it is. Xue Yang doesn’t know exactly how old he is and he looks younger because he’s all malnourished and stuff, so he’s anywhere from 8 to 13, here.]
"Gongzi. There's someone watching us."
Wei Wuxian cracked an eye, wincing at the stab of sunlight that had apparently peaked above the roof behind them since he had closed his eyes. Raising his arm against it, he rolled his head to follow Wen Ning's gaze.
Down the street, a boy stood at the mouth of an alley, feet planted, openly staring. He looked somewhere around...ugh, Wuxian was horrible with kids ages. 9? 11? He was skinny and short, as many street kids were--which he unquestionably was. His clothes were several inches too short and of that indeterminate color that meant years of dirt and grime that would never completely wash out. His hair was unkempt and half balled up on the top of his head in a ratty topknot. And it was something in the eyes. Too old and too sharp for such a young face. You could always tell by the eyes.
"Hey. What?" Wuxian called without sitting up.
The boy said nothing, unmoving.
"I see you just standing over there like a weird little goblin. Are you trying to hide? You're doing a terrible job, you're literally out in the open. What? Do you want a radish? We're selling them. Do you have money?"
The boy was still silent.
"Do you...we have lots of them, do you want one?" Wen Ning called hesitantly, holding out the vegetable he had been waggling hopefully at passerby's.
Wei Wuxian tapped Wen Ning's wrist with the ChenQing. "Don't give him the huge one, he'll make himself sick trying to eat it all at once. Give him a smaller one." As Wen Ning turned and fumbled in their sack, Wuxian sat up. "Hey. Come here, you can have a radish, if you want. Just don't tell your friends, we're trying to make a living, here."
The strange kid tilted his head, eyes narrowing, focused on Wuxian.
"You're a creepy little thing, aren't you? Fine. No radishes for you. If you learn some manners and come over here to talk properly, then you'll get one." With that, he turned so most of his back faced the kid and bellowed, “RADISHES! FRESH, AMAZING RADISHES!”
When he glanced back over his shoulder, the mouth of the alleyway was empty.
-
“You know, if we grew potatoes, we would have sold so much more. Why does your sister undermine my economic prowess? Why--what?” He stopped, catching ChenQing mid-spin between his fingers as he felt Wen Ning stop behind him, the squeaky wagon wheel going silent.
“I think he’s back, gongzi.”
“Who?”
“That boy. I think he’s followed us.”
Wuxian turned and peered around, but couldn’t see anyone in the gloom under the trees. “Why?”
“I keep--I keep hearing footsteps behind us, but...but they’re very light.”
Shrugging, Wuxian leaned down and scooped up an apple off of the pile of offerings people kept leaving on the giant stone that marked the beginning of the wards to the Burial Mounds. “He’s probably just seeing if he can catch us alone to rob us or something. Whatever. He’ll probably just take the food here and leave,” he raised his voice so it echoed off the trees. “‘Cause he won’t be able to get past the wards and I don’t suggest he try. Though it would be hilarious, so what do I care.” Crunching into the apple definitively, he set off again, trusting that Wen Ning would follow him up.
-
“What the fuck,” Wuxian growled groggily, swaying upright.
The scroll he had fallen asleep reading slid down his chest and clattered to the floor beside his nest of blankets. It was dark, the candle he’d lit on his bedside rock burned down to a cold stub. And someone was trying to mess with the wards on the mountain. They weren’t very good at it and they were absolutely nowhere near successful. But it was like a mosquito buzzing in his ear, a little zing in his spiritual awareness that had him scratching at his scalp like a louse-ridden mutt. It was probably that damn waif from town.
Wei Wuxian had sympathy for him, as a former street rat from that city himself. It was a fucking horrible and hard life he wouldn’t wish on anyone, let alone a kid. But he was definitely less sympathetic at--he squinted out the little sky light for a clue, but it was cloudy, obscuring the moon and stars. He grumbled again, scrubbing his face--at stupid-middle-of-the-night-o’clock. He was the fucking Yiling Laozu, dammit, and that should at least gain him enough terror-induced respect to not have to deal with rude little punks in the wee hours of the morning.
If he was still there in the morning, Wuxian would go down and give him what for. But right now, he could fuck right off. Turning over, he yanked the blanket over his head and grumpily clawed after sleep.
-
“Whoever he is, I’m going to drop kick him back down the mountain,” Wei Wuxian groused over breakfast, pinching A-Yuan’s cheeks as he sat in his lap and clumsily fed them both congee.
Both Wen siblings traded an annoyingly knowing look with each other and ignored him, Wen Ning turning away with the empty congee bowls and Wen Qing sipping her water.
“What?”
Wen Qing pulled an innocent face and shook her head. “Nothing.”
“You think I won’t? That little asshole was there all night--”
“What asshole?” A-Yuan repeated curiously in his lap.
“Hey, never you mind, potty mouth, don’t say that, who do you think you are?” Wuxian demanded, as if appalled, covering the whole of the child’s face with his hand.
A-Yuan squirmed and pawed at it, giggling. Wen Qing rolled her eyes and sighed. When A-Yuan managed to peel his palm away, Wei Wuxian curled his lip at the boy as if disgusted until he offered up another spoonful of congee, which he faux-reluctantly stooped down to eat. “I’m ‘onna ‘o ‘own vere an’ deach ‘im a resson,” he warned Wen Qing around his mouthful.
“Then go,” she put her chin in her hand, watching him with bored eyes. “Tell me how it goes.”
“I will!”
“Mmhmm.”
-
“Hey!”
There was no one, his voice echoing impotently off the spindly, bare trees. Except there fucking wasn’t, the little pest, and they both knew it. “Hey, get out here.”
Nothing.
Wei Wuxian crossed his arms and glared down at the pile of offering food--it was definitely about half gone, the buns and fruit and even some of the spices gone. “You little twerp, I know you’re out there. You either come here right now, get lost, or get cursed. I have powers beyond your mortal comprehension and I’ll turn every one of your bloodline into a newt.”
Nothing but the wind whistling through the trees. Until, “Yeah?”
The tone wasn’t scared or pitiably thin or even cowed. It was one of interest and it came from above his head. Wuxian left his arms crossed and looked up to see the boy squatting on a thick tree branch, peering down at him with bird-bright eyes and the ghost of an insolent smirk. Stepping back so he didn’t have to crane his neck, Wuxian scowled up at him. “Yeah. What do you want?”
“Can you really?”
“Can I what, you impertinent little shit--I asked you a question! Respect your elders!”
“Turn people into things.”
“I can turn them into corpses just fine, so don’t test me. What is your deal?”
“So. You’re the Yiling Laozu.”
“I didn’t say that.”
“Are you?”
Wuxian snorted. “You don’t get an answer until I do, little man, I don’t just give away information.”
Those eyes slowly scanned down the length of him, that smirk widening. “You don’t look like much. But I guess you must be.”
“And why is that?”
He raised the hand that wasn’t steadying himself on the trunk and pointed to Wuxian’s waist. “Flute.”
Despite himself, he automatically gripped ChenQing, then snorted, twirling the end of her tassel. “Lots of people have flutes. Ever seen a Lan? They’re practically bristling with instruments.”
“No.”
“No what?”
“I’ve never seen a Lan. What’s a Lan?”
“It’s a cultivation sect. Don’t you know anything? Who raised you?”
Slowly, the kid tilted his head. “No one.”
Aha. They were getting somewhere. Wuxian kept up his aggrieved frown. “Well then you’ve never heard of Hanguang-jun, which is a shame, because he’d probably have a lot more patience for a little delinquent like you. Why are you looking for the Yiling Laozu?”
He blinked slowly, like a lizard, that little smirk still on his lips. “To teach me.”
“You really don’t know anything--everyone knows he doesn’t take disciples.”
The kid rested his chin on the heel of his palm, his elbow on his knee, hooding his eyes as if bored. “If you’re really half as dumb as you’re pretending to be, maybe I don’t want you to be. There’s a banner people put here, all fancy and black and red. Offerings everywhere. Wards on the mountain he lives on. Who else would you be?”
“Maybe I just live here, you punk. You can’t even read.”
He shrugged. “Don’t have to. Pretty obvious. Teach me.”
“Teach you what?”
“Demonic Cultivation.”
Wuxian threw back his head and laughed derisively for far too long. When he petered off, pretending to wipe tears from his eyes, the brazen smugness was gone from the kid’s smile, leaving it cold and more of a sneer. But his eyes were narrowed and burning. Aha. A little shit with pride and spice. “Like I said, little brat--I don’t take disciples. And you have a lot of audacity to think that you could handle it.”
At this, his eyes lit, the sullen danger bleeding from his face into intent and he leaned so far forward on the branch, Wei Wuxian’s arms immediately unfolded and began to raise to catch him before he stopped himself. “I knew it! It is you! Teach me. I’ll do anything you ask--I’ll dig up corpses, I’ll kill your enemies--”
“Good gods, you just jump straight to murder! Do you think that’s all I do? You saw me selling radishes on the side of the road and think that my top priority is hiring a 5 year old assassin? What do you want to learn this for, anyway?”
The boy eagerly swung down, dropping to the ground before him with a thunk that made Wei Wuxian wince in sympathy for his ankles. “Destroy my enemies. Make them wish they had never met me--like you.”
“That’s hilarious. What kind of enemies would a toddler even have, anyway?”
That flash of anger came into the kids eyes again and he bared his teeth. “I’m not a toddler.”
“How old are you, then?”
He shrugged--and Wei Wuxian could see he was missing the pinky finger on his left hand, leaving a gnarled scar. In fact, all the fingers on his left hand were slightly misshapen, some joints overlarge, some digits crooked at the end. Wuxian’s stomach twisted slightly. It was old. It happened when he was a much younger child. “Dunno. Does it matter?”
Kneading his temple, Wei Wuxian let out an annoyed sigh. “What is your name, twerp?”
This time, his face split into a wide grin, eyes burning and intent. “Does that mean you will?”
Wuxian glared down at him, hands on his hips. “It means I want to know who the hell kept me up all last night so I can spell your name correctly in my curses.”
Not looking in the least bit worried, the kid mirrored him, hands on his hips. “Xue Yang.”
“Xue Yang, you are nosey and obnoxious.”
With a grin, Xue Yang came forward and grabbed the cuff of Wuxian’s sleeve, tugging. “Yiling Laozu, shifu, gongzi, teach me to make them die screaming. I’ll do all your dirty work. I’ll never complain. Teach me, make me your disciple.”
Wuxian pursed his lips down at him, wrinkling his nose. “No.”
That smile widened, sharpened, and he tugged hard, once. Then, his hand darted out and before Wei Wuxian could stop him, Xue Yang yelped and reeled back a few steps, cradling it to his gut, his sharp little face hard and set.
Snatching ChenQing from his belt, Wuxian brandished it at the kid and bellowed, “You little idiot! What did you think was going to happen?! ChenQing is a first class spiritual tool, of course she’s going to fucking bite you if you try to steal her! Why would I take on a thief who doesn’t know the first thing about cultivation in the first place?!”
Xue Yang’s nostrils flared and he stayed where he was, still holding his chastened hand. “I’ll learn. Teach me.”
“No!”
“I’ll do anything you ask.”
Wei Wuxian threw his hands in the air and turned his back on him. “Anything like steal my flute? Get lost.”
He hadn’t taken 2 steps when the kid yelled at the top of his lungs, “Teach me! I’ll do anything! Anything at all!” His voice was raw and strained with the edge of a crazed laugh. “I’m not leaving! I’ll test your wards all night, every night! I’ll spoil all the food offerings! I’ll--I’ll shoot anyone who leaves this mountain! You’ll have to kill me!”
Geez, this kid was obnoxious! Scowling, Wei Wuxian whirled around. “You think I won’t?”
Breathing hard, his eyes alight, Xue Yang grinned with all his teeth. “Then do it. You’ll never get rid of me, otherwise. I’ll make your life a nightmare. I’ll find a way to get in and steal your secrets and kill you.”
Wuxian rolled his eyes. “Wow, that’s a super compelling argument to make me want to live with you. I’m sure you have many friends.”
Xue Yang’s jaw worked as he panted, his hands both fists. Then, he said in a tightly controlled, trembling voice, “I’ll do anything. I’ll listen to your every order. I’ll follow every rule. I’ll never question you.”
Coolly, Wuxian raised an eyebrow. “Anything? Dig latrine holes and grind my ink for hours? Stoke the kitchen fires and launder clothes? Babysit A-Yuan and sell radishes with Wen Ning?” he demanded dryly. “You have a really specific and grandiose view of my life, kid. I live in a cave on a mountain of corpses with 50 disgraced cultivators the world wants dead. It’s not a luxurious castle of malevolence. It’s all chores, up there. I don’t have work for you to do because I work alone. You’ll be my servant.”
“I don’t care,” he said, immediately. “I’ll do it. I’ll prove it to you.”
Pinching the bridge of his nose, Wuxian tilted his head back, fist on his hip. It was silent for a long while, just the moan of the wind up the mountain and Xue Yang’s harsh, slowing breath. There was a scuff and Wuxian tensed, ready for this kid to try stabbing him or something equally as “convincing” but he had simply dropped to his knees, looking up at him with a falsely beatific smile, all teeth and shining youth. “Please. Shifu. Gongzi.” He thought a second, then his smile widened and he tilted his head, all cutesy. “Gege.”
Wei Wuxian snorted, twirling ChenQing expertly between his fingers. “You’re way too old for that to work properly. You have to be A-Yuan’s age.” There was something when all that cunning and watchful tension was gone from his face, though, however insincerely. He really wasn’t very old. He was just a kid with nowhere to go, if his desperation was to be believed.
Ugh.
“Ugh. Get over here.”
Xue Yang scrambled to his feet, face eager. Wei Wuxian pulled out a talisman, bit his thumb to bleeding, sketched out a rough entry pass and shoved it into the kid’s dirty lapel. “You’re on probation. You step out of line, you’re out. You do something to endanger us, you’re out. You annoy me too much, you’re out. If I’m in a really bad mood, I’ll plant you in ground so you can feed our radishes. I’m not teaching you.” He added, forcefully as Xue Yang’s grin came back in full, triumphant force. “A kid your age has no business learning things like that. But you can have a roof over your head at night.”
“Sure, gege,” he answered, slyly. “Whatever you say.”
With a noise of aggravated disgust, Wei Wuxian spun on his heel and stalked back up the mountain, trusting him to follow. This little shit was going to try to steal his notes and spy on him for sure. What a hassle.

Untamed Characters as Dog Breeds, Part 3: The Nie and the Wens
Nie Mingjue:
Tumblr media
German Shepherd. Pretty self-explanatory.
Nie Huaisang:
Tumblr media
Sussex Spaniel. Head empty, only birds. Chill, pampered, silly, kind of dumb. Affectionate and mischievous. Has a long memory, and will never forgive nor forget rough handling. Birds.
Wen Ning:
Tumblr media
Staffordshire Bull Terrier: people who don’t know better think he is a vicious murder-machine and seek to annihilate him :(. People who are evil try to use him as a weapon :(. In reality, he is a softie and a big sweetie who loves his family and loves children and thinks he is a lap-dog. However, he will come to your defense if you need it.
Xue Yang:
Tumblr media
Basenji: A sweet-faced murder machine. Semi-feral despite everyone’s best efforts. Will drag an elk ribcage into your bedroom through a window that it somehow managed to open. Escape Artiste. You can tell it to do things, but it probably won’t care.
Wen Chao:
Tumblr media
Pekingese: It just looks like a mistake. Terrible attitude. Why.
Wen Qing:
Tumblr media
Border Collie, but like. A working border collie: Extremely intelligent, hardworking, loyal, and strong-willed. This is the look she gives Wei Wuxian when he’s pulling bullshit. Come for her sheep (Wen Ning) at your peril. Step out of line at your peril. The best doctor in Qishan Wen and also the world.
Wang Lingjiao:
Tumblr media
Pomeranian. Horrible. Yappy. Thinks they are enormous and fearsome and they are not. Reactive. Why.
Wen Ruohan:
Tumblr media
90% of its personality is held in the mustache. Powerful, intimidating, big attitude and big hair. Kind of mean.

ScifiAU!MDZS where Golden Cores still exist!
Everything and everyone has one so qi deviation is still a deadly, gruesome threat.  There are immensely ancient legacy Cores that are sentient and thus are fully capable of creating their own Hosts.
It's said that the only reason why the Yiling Loazu Golden Core exists is to stabilize and support the Hanguang-Jun Golden Core.  This means the Yiling Laozu Core-bearer belongs to Hanguang-Jun's Core-bearer. In every sense of the word.
Custody of the Yiling Laozu lineage is cycled between the big Cultivation sects so no one can claim the others are harboring/hoarding "evil/bad ambition". Of all the Core lineages the Yiling Core is one of the most scrutinized and restricted.  Xianxian is the 1st born of the 17th generation, the latest, whereas other lineages are already on their 61st or 64th gen Hosts. The only other lineage that comes close is Hanguang-Jun's Core-bearers which is on its 21st generation.
This would be crack treated seriously.  I just wanted multiple versions of Wei Wuxian running around and being stupidly happy together.
Wei Wuxian - Like a bad habit, he's addictive, easy to fall in love with, even easier to amuse, and just as casually insensitive about his affect on people.  Leaves a bloody trail of brokenhearted men, women and everyone in between but again he does not notice. Excitable about everything and shameless. Favored to be the next Yiling Loazu Core-bearer. Is THE poster boy of what the Yiling Loazu should look like.  Generation created by Yunmeng Jiang. Loves teaching and spreading knowledge. Of all kinds. A functional alcoholic. Is almost always the first to reach out, to hug, to give the shirt off his back.  Is also probably the one to forget the toddler in the backseat of a locked car on a chokingly hot day. :/ NOT the adult you're looking for.
Xian'ge - the provider.  Reliable af. The one you want on your side when shit goes down.  Will have zero qualms about ending you if you hurt his family. Will not lose sleep over the act either.  Still a big softie for a certain Lan Zhan though. Was the generation created by Gusu Lan and it shows. Has never done any kind of illicit substance, never drank alcohol or smoked anything.  Co-conspirator with Xiao Ying to cheerfully kick everyone out of bed and go do their day jobs, chores, whatever needs to be done. Also not above joining in Xiao Ying's pranks to keep them all in line.  Will often be found in a tree or highest point or covered in sod and bushes or dissecting Core-infected creatures.
Xianxian - Generation created as intersex by Qinghe Nie.  Was supposed to pair specifically with the latest Host of the Hanguang-jun Golden Core.  Neither were happy about it. A young adult struggling to find their place in this world.  Considered an "embarrassment" and the most unqualified to be a Yiling Laozu Golden Core Host by the public.  Touch starved but doesn't dare reach out. Everyone's cuddle buddy and Wei Wuxian's unwitting test subject. The one who actually liked the strict schedules and unforgiving structure they were kidnapped from.  Terrified of Xiao Ying.
Wei Ying - Chronologically the oldest at nearly 3 thousand years but physically looks around Xianxian's age.  Like a distant mountain peak, people gravitate towards him but is mercurial, aloof and perfectly content to be alone.  Not shy or modest. False humility? Who's she, don't know her.
The artificial prototype thought to have been created jointly by the original Wei Wuxian and his husband.  (For what purpose? Who knows the ways the charismatic first Yiling Loazu thinks.) Gusu Lan kept him sealed away.  Genetic materials was harvested from him to create the Yiling Laozu lineage. When he awakened 7 years ago and discovered this violation, he took his siblings then leveled Gusu and half of Shanghai.  Most of the younger members of the Lan Clan have not forgiven the thousands murdered or the thousands year old treasures and history lost.
Xiao Ying - around 9, small for their age.  Doesn't have a biological gender because Wei Wuxian is a curious asshole and there was the beginnings of a genetic experiment, donated eggs and so...he might have...sort of, maybe finished it on one of his drunken binges.  May or may not develop when puberty hits. Xian'ge immediately took custody. Wei Wuxian and Wei Ying are not allowed to be alone with Xiao Ying, mostly because they get along like a forest fire and no one's ready for that amount of property damage again.
A happy, well-adjusted child with eerie tendencies.  Claims they can feel what Cores feel. That animal and plant Cores can be used for humans but the humans are def not going to like it.  Knows what each of their siblings are doing at any time, their exact location and can guess their next actions down to when that action takes place.  They're not exactly telepathic, they also claim.
