Bill Barr, who served as Donald Trump’s attorney general, admitted on CNN that Trump regularly ranted about executing those who crossed him when he was president. But in the next breath, Barr downplayed the former president’s threats. Instead, Barr told “The Source” anchor Kaitlan Collins that it was his “feeling” that Trump wouldn’t actually act on his chilling rhetoric. Collins brought up Trump’s reported rants and noted how former Trump White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin has claimed Trump suggested executing an unknown White House staffer who’d “leaked a story about him going to the bunker during the George Floyd protests.” “I remember him being very mad about that,” Barr told Collins. “I actually don’t remember him saying ‘executing,’ but I wouldn‘t dispute it.” Barr recalled how Trump “would lose his temper and say things like that” but said he doubted “he would’ve actually carried it out.” People “sometimes took him [Trump] too literally,” claimed Barr. Trump “would say things similar to that on occasions to blow off steam but I wouldn’t take them literally every time he did it,” he added.

[...] Barr became a critic of Trump following the latter’s 2020 election loss. He has repeatedly called out his former boss’s baseless claims of voter fraud. However, Barr last week said he’ll vote for the GOP ticket in November even if Trump is the nominee. The about-turn prompted a withering response from Trump.

Just spineless from William Barr, as he said that he'll vote for Donald Trump even though he admitted that Trump ranted about executing those who crossed him during his "Presidency."

Tragedy at Sand Cave

William Floyd Collins, better known as Floyd Collins, was born June 20, 1887 in Logan County, Kentucky to Lee Collins and Martha Jane Burnett. From an early age, Floyd developed a hobby of exploring caves. This pastime led to the discovery of Crystal Cave in 1917 beneath his father’s farmland. Floyd developed the cave into a tourist attraction that boasted unique helictite and gypsum cave formations.

Floyd knew of another potential cave located on property owned by Beesly Doyel. This cave, known as Sand Cave, had prime real estate situated right beside Cave City Road. Travelers would easily pass by Sand Cave before continuing to the other show caves such as Mammoth Cave. Floyd entered into an agreement with Beesly Doyel to explore Sand Cave and share the profits if the cave proved worthy to show.

Floyd first entered Sand Cave on January 30, 1925 with only a single kerosene lantern and shortly found it offered many challenges. He found himself squeezing through tight passageways – at one point so tight that he had to inch through on his stomach, with one arm stretched out ahead of him, pushing his lantern, and the other arm at his side. Beyond this crawl, the cave began to open up, but his lantern suddenly began to flicker.

Floyd knew the peril of losing light in a cave, so he reluctantly began his return journey. As he returned through the tight crawl, his foot dislodged a 27-pound rock which wedged his ankle in place. Try as he might in his awkward position he could not remove his foot. He was trapped in a stone straight-jacket. Thus begun Floyd’s harrowing tale in Sand Cave.

Once it was discovered that Floyd was trapped in the cave, rescue efforts slowly ramped up. Engineers, geologists, and cavers were called in from all over the local area and state. When more conventional means failed, miners began digging a shaft to reach him. Rescuers worked long hours day and night in hopes of finding a solution to getting Floyd unstuck from Sand Cave. The workers encountered periods of rain and cold weather, cave collapses and disagreements among leaders on how to proceed. The rescue efforts spanned over 17 days with many tactics to rescue Floyd attempted, but all of them ultimately failing. Throughout the rescue efforts, the story became too big for Cave City. People began to arrive from all parts of the country and a "carnival atmosphere" took hold at the mouth of Sand Cave. Vendors appeared, selling food, drink and souvenirs. Thousands of sightseers descended on Cave City, and the state was forced to dispatch troops to keep order.

On the eighteenth day after his entrapment, rescuer’s finally reached Floyd via a 55 ft. vertical shaft, but it was too late. Floyd Collins was pronounced dead of exposure, and Sand Cave was sealed with Floyd’s body inside. Only months later would his body be removed for a formal burial closer to his family’s home near Crystal Cave. He now rests in the Mammoth Cave Baptist Church Cemetery.

"Having to up and leave because my home was no longer safe, waking up to reporters at my door, closing my eyes at night only to see a man who is brown like me, lifeless on the ground.” While many have dubbed her a hero for capturing the video, which played a key role in the conviction of Derek Chauvin, Frazier says that “behind the publicity, I’m a girl trying to heal from something I am reminded of every day.”

Tuesday, the Senate confirmed Kristen Clarke making her the first Black woman to lead the Justice Department as the civil rights chief, USA Today reports. Clarke was confirmed in a 51-48 vote, with just one Republican, Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, voting in favor of her confirmation.

Fox says that her short-lived marriage to Christopher Harvest ended in 2002 because she did not wish to be the "breadwinner" in the relationship. “He didn’t go out and then pursue things with the same drive that I had for my career,” Fox said in an interview with Vlad TV. “You know, a woman doesn’t like paying all the bills all the time. I can only ask for help so many times before I had to come to the conclusion that I didn’t want to be the breadwinner in this family. My mother didn’t raise me to take care of a man. The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of African-American and Caribbean-born military pilots who fought in WWII. They formed the 332nd Fighter Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the Army Air Forces. The name applies to the navigators, bombardiers, mechanics, instructors, crew chiefs, nurses, cooks, and other support personnel.

All African American military pilots who trained in the US trained at Moton Field, the Tuskegee Army Air Field, and were educated at Tuskegee University. The group included five Haitians from the Haitian Air Force and one pilot from Trinidad. It included a Hispanic or Latino airman born in the Dominican Republic.

March 22, 1942 - The first five cadets graduate from the Tuskegee Flying School: Captain Benjamin O. Davis, Jr. and Second Lieutenants Mac Ross,

Charles DeBow, L.R. Curtis, and George S. Roberts. They will become part of my the famous 99th Pursuit Squadron. List of Tuskegge Airmen.

Ghosts of Mammoth Cave

Perhaps the only location in the state more obviously haunted than Bobby Mackey's Music World is Mammoth Cave. In and of itself, the cave is a scientific anomaly, with a system of caverns that goes on for hundreds of miles, most of which has yet to be explored. It is still unknown where the cave ends. Many believe it connects to the Carlsbad cave system out west, and still others are convinced that it is the gateway to the deep subterranean "Hollow Earth" civilization that many have theorized about the last century. Prehistoric man used Mammoth Cave as a burial site. Some of humanity's earliest funerals were held in this very spot, and it was apparently extremely sacred to this ancient civilization, no doubt seemingly even then like a portal to another world.

In the eighteenth century, the area that would later become the Commonwealth of Kentucky was a sparsely populated, mysterious place. The local Native Americans were wary of it, using it as a place for hunting, but not for settlement. There was something dark, something sinister, something far more ancient than their own civilization, inhabiting this territory, it was said.

When deposits of saltpeter, which is used in gunpowder, were discovered in Mammoth Cave in the late eighteenth century, it created a reason for the area to become settled and populated. The property where the cave is located changed hands several times as it became a major source of this compound. Colonial settlers used at least seventy slaves at a time in the complicated saltpeter operation, and many died during the grueling and miserable labor. This too is thought to be a potential reason for the cave's ghostly activity.

After the War of 1812, the bottom fell out of the saltpeter market and Mammoth Cave's mines were forced to shut down. But by then the cave had become something of a tourist attraction in its own right, partially because of the bizarre mummified humanoids that were found by workers and slaves deep in some of the most remote cavernous passages. It was at this time that the name Mammoth Cave stuck and became official.

A later owner of the cave, Dr. William Croghan, set up an experimental clinic for tuberculosis patients in the cavern, under the misguided notion that the moist underground atmosphere would be curative. The experiment failed, and many of the patients died. They were buried near the entrance of the cave.

By the twentieth century, another tragedy created yet another haunting legend: that of explorer Floyd Collins. Collins entered a pit known as Sand Cave in an attempt to discover if it was connected to the Mammoth Cave system. We now know that Collins hunch was right, and that it was indeed a branch of Mammoth Cave he was entering, but he never got to make that discovery for himself.

On January 30, 1925, Collins's foot was crushed by a giant boulder and was pinned under its immense weight. Before long, his lantern went out, and he was alone in the dark, in intense pain, and had the horror of knowing that he was in a place where no human had set foot in centuries. AS he lay there, wedged under the rock in an uncomfortable sideways position, he no doubt thought his mother's premonition before he left on his exploration: She had experienced a vision of poor Floyd dying in the cave and his soul being carried away by angels.

Sooner or later, people realized that Floyd wasn't coming back up, and a rescue mission was mounted. Although searchers did eventually managed to locate the injured man, they were at an utter loss as to what to do. Days were spent mulling things over as to what to do. Days were spent mulling things over as Collins lay there, his foot becoming increasingly necrotic. A reward was offered for anyone who could figure out a way to free him, but no one who could come forward, at least not with an idea anyone else considered viable. Why no one simply cut Floyd's leg at the knee is a question that has never been answered. A gruesome solution, yes, but it beats dying-and that's exactly what happened to Floyd while everyone stood around mumbling, "Golly gee, there orta be some other way."

For years after his death, Floyd's body had even more adventures. Originally, he was given a burial inside the cave, but his brother Homer decided this was not a proper resting place. He had the body exhumed and transported to the family farm for burial. But a few years later, after Floyd's father sold the farm, the new owner dug up Floyd's corpse and placed it on display for tourists!

But what, it gets even weirder. In 1929, unknown persons stole Floyd's corpse. An APB was issued to be on the lookout for Floyd Collins's dead body, and sure enough, it was eventually found in a cornfield, with one horrific (and somewhat ironic) difference: His left leg had been removed.

Floyd's corpse was returned to its post as a greeter for the tourists. His posthumously amputated leg was never recovered. Later he was reburied inside Crystal Cave, and then in 1989, he was moved yet AGAIN to the Flint Ridge Cemetery, where he remains today-as far as we know, anyway.

Many people are convinced that Floyd's ghost is still lurking around the area, inside and outside the cave. Those who believe in Floyd's ghost say his is a spiteful spirit, angered at the triple indignities he suffered in the bungled rescue, the multiple disinterments, and the theft of his leg.

Modern-day employees and visitors at Mammoth Cave still report paranormal phenomena on an almost daily basis: Lanterns inexplicably go off and on, apparitions of people appear and then disappear, and unexplained voices and other sounds echo through the subterranean labyrinth. If you visit only one haunted location in the state, make it Mammoth Cave. We guarantee it still not disappoint.

2016 - David Bowie

A statue of David Bowie was set to go up in the town where he first performed as Ziggy Stardust following the success of a crowdfunding campaign. More than 650 people pledged sums totalling more than the £100,000 goal, 19 hours before the deadline. The statue would be put up in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, where Bowie unveiled his Ziggy character.

2013 - Spotify

Spotify responded to critics by revealing how much acts can expect to earn from the music streaming site. The company said it paid an average of $0.007 per play, according to figures on its new website Spotify Artists, aimed specifically at musicians. Explaining its business model, Spotify said it had paid more than $1bn (£612m) in royalties since its 2008 launch. Earlier this year Radiohead singer Thom Yorke pulled material from the site in protest at how much it pays artists.

2006 - Paul McCartney

Beatles lyrics handwritten by Sir Paul McCartney to an early version of Maxwell's Silver Hammer sold for $192,000 (£97,000) at an auction in New York. A guitar owned by Jimi Hendrix fetched $168,000 (£85,000), a notebook containing lyrics written by Bob Marley sold for $72,000 (£36,445) and a poem penned by Doors frontman Jim Morrison made $49,000 (£25,500) at the Christie's sale.

2004 - Band Aid 20

Band Aid 20 started a four week at No.1 on the UK singles chart with a new version of Do They Know It’s Christmas? The third time the song had reached No.1. The new version featured, Joss Stone, Busted, Chris Martin, Bono, Justin Hawkins, Dizzee Rascal, Tom Chaplin, Ms Dynamite, Beverly Knight, Will Young, Jamelia, Fran Healy, Sugababes, Dido and Robbie Williams.

1973 - Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney and Wings released Band On The Run, his fifth album since his departure from The Beatles. Two hit singles from the album – 'Jet' and 'Band on the Run' made it McCartney's most successful album. The majority of Band on the Run was recorded at EMI's studio in Lagos, Nigeria, as McCartney wanted to make an album in an exotic location. McCartney went into the studio with just his wife Linda and Denny Laine, doubling on drums, percussion and most of the lead guitar parts himself as well as bass.

1970 - Judy Collins

'Amazing Grace' by Judy Collins entered the UK singles chart for the first of eight times, it spent a total of 67 weeks on the chart never making the No.1 position. 'Amazing Grace' is a Christian hymn with lyrics written by the English poet and clergyman John Newton which was first published in 1779.

1968 - The Rolling Stones

The release of The Rolling Stones' new album Beggars Banquet was celebrated at a party in London. A food fight with custard pies was the highlight of the event that went on without an ill Keith Richards. The original cover for the LP was in the form of a plain white invitation, but was later changed.

1967 - Jimi Hendrix

This was the final night of a 16-date UK package tour with Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Move, The Nice, The Outer Limits, The Erie Apparent and Amen Corner at Green's Playhouse, Glasgow. All performances had two shows per night, in this case at 6.15pm, with the second at 8.45pm. Jimi Hendrix had the curtains closed on him halfway through his set, after the management at the venue regarded his movements with his guitar as having sexual overtones.

1964 - The Beach Boys

Beach Boys started a four week run at No.1 on the US album chart with 'Beach Boys Concert', the group's first US No.1. The album was recorded live at the Memorial Auditorium in Sacramento, California and is one of the few live documents of the original line up of the Beach Boys in officially released LP form.

1964 - Lorne Greene

Lorne Greene star of the NBC TV show 'Bonanza' was at No.1 on the US singles chart with 'Ringo', making him the second Canadian (after Paul Anka) to have a US No.1 single. The song was a No.22 hit in the UK.

1960 - The Beatles

Paul McCartney and Pete Best were arrested for pinning a condom to a brick wall and then igniting it. The two were told to leave Germany and The Beatles returned home, discouraged.
