A clockwork apprentice Danny that has to fake Jason’s death because he accidentally meddled in the event leading up to it and now he has to act fast because he literally can hear Batman’s running steps catching up to him so in spectacular fashion Danny panics, goes “shit shit shit” and puts Jason in the ghost version of a coma but like expert level pumps him up with so much ectoplasm the kid legit dies for a hot minute there.

…It makes Batman think his kid really is dead like he is supposed to so not all is bad, the timeline is back on track.

It’s just that now Danny can’t leave Jason to be be buried in the ground like he was meant to be originally, instead he waits until no one is looking to snatch the kid up and take him with him to the infinite realms.

Jason is legit convinced he was kidnapped.

Jason: who are you and why did you kidnap me???

Danny: what— kid I didn’t kidnapped you, I saved you

Jason: likely story

Danny: really kid I’m not kidding this is not a kidnapping

Jason: well then can I go home

The target audience for this post is approximately three people but. Apart from Olivia Colman as genderswapped Leonard Angela Burr, one of my favorite things about the TV adaptation of The Night Manager is how hard they leaned into the fact that the villains are just Everyman: Worst Capitalists You Know edition. It’s that simple. They’re literally just dime a dozen shitty rich guys with a shady government contract, a wallet where their consciences should be, and an unfortunately well-justified sense of impunity. Their great exploitable weakness is the deeply banal and human fact that Richard “Worst Man In The World” Roper would do anything for his kid except drive him to the airport when he has a business meeting (HE IS HIS OWN BOSS. HE SETS THE MEETINGS), and Sandy “Worst Husband In The World” Langbourne emotional-labors his wife’s ear off with all the gory details of their illegal arms smuggling operation and then cheats on her with the au pair and anything else that moves.

ANYWAY not to belabor a previous point in a circuitous fashion but. This is part of what I mean when I say that the Imperial Coruscant vibes on Andor were absolutely impeccable

I’ve finally reached the point in my ncis rewatch where I’ve hit the episode i was an extra in and it’s… weird watching it 10 years later. I can still remember it really well (I mean obv, I was obsessed at the time, and mark Harmon was the nicest tv celeb I ever met, and they served swordfish for inch that day which was incredible…) but it feels so dissociative? I still have the jacket I’m wearing, and I remember every other item of clothing I had on (along with several of the accessories on other background/my friends) but I look at me in this scene, and it doesn’t feel like it’s me anymore. I keep looking at my calves and being like ??? Look how skinny my legs were lmao whose legs are those (behold, baby Loptrcoptr (orange pants), a year prior to learning the heiti “Loptr” in the first place)

Anyway, I would like to send out a ten year late apology to Cote de Pablo for staring at her in the lunch line, I’m not subtle lmao and I also snuck a peak at the squad room and autopsy. To anyone who is still around from The Old Days, I miss all our NCIS chats and threads, thems were good times.

You NEED to tell us more about your dark Maedhros AU

Alrighty then, here goes nothing! XDD Be warned, this is rather a long one loll I ended up including most of what I'd originally planned out, so you don't have to read the whole thing if you don't want to ^^;; But if you do end up reading it, many thanks! :DDD

Basically, it starts off with Maedros and Maglor wanting to send the twins to Gil-Galad. I imagine the twins are a little older here than in canon, maybe mid-teens or more? Anyways, they're not happy about it, maybe argue with the Feanorians, but the decision is already made.

They later go on a hunting trip with Maedros, but they're ambushed in the night by Orcs, and that's when the twins are sent forward in time. In the present, Maedros survives but thinks the twins have been captured or killed; he can't find them, so he goes back to Maglor with the bad news. Maglor, of course, does not take this well at all.

But he still has to meet up with Gil-Galad! He goes with his entourage while Maedros stays at Amon Ereb, but is ambushed on the way and overpowered by Orcs. I imagine Maglor wasn't really in his right mind when they attacked him, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to kill him. Maedros hears about this and goes to retrieve the body.

At the same time, Morgoth launches his attack on Amon Ereb. When Maedros returns, he finds everything in ruins. So now he wanders around, slowly going mad, and it's at this point that Sauron appears and tries to sway Maedros to the dark side. He tries to make it seem like Gil-Galad set Maglor up, because Maglor could never have been taken by surprise, right?

So this happens a few times; Maedros usually attacks/rebuffs Sauron, but he starts to doubt, and gets angry at Gil-Galad. He ends up going to Sirion and meets with Gil-Galad. Gil insists that he had nothing to do with Maglor’s death. He also demands to know where the twins are, if they’re in a safe spot, etc. but Maedros doesn’t know where they are. This makes the other Elves suspicious of him, and he’s put on their radar. But they let him go for now (I haven’t really fine-tuned this area yet loll)

So now Maedros is wandering around with nothing and nowhere to go. Sauron appears again, offers him a position with Morgoth, maybe even offers aid in searching for the twins. Because Sauron hasn’t seen them, in all honesty. He’d know if the Orcs captured them, right?? Maedros still refuses him, but he’s now finding himself drawn to Angband, and his mind is slowly but steadily slipping from all the rage and grief and loss.

Eventually, he makes a deal with Sauron: find the twins, dead or alive. In return, Maedros must kill Gil-Galad. So Maedros goes back to Sirion and discovers a lock of hair belonging to the twins (which Sauron planted there). Maedros confronts Gil about this, but Gil reveals nothing about the twins even while he’s at bladepoint. He accuses Maedros of having delusions, maybe Maedros is the one who did something to them. This triggers Maedros into a blind rage, and he kills Gil-Galad, and a bunch of other Elves who come running.

Sauron later brings news that the twins are dead, and manipulates Maedros to think that it really was Gil-Galad’s side that did it. he plays on Maedros’ desire for vengeance, not just for the twins, but for himself and Maglor, and for Earendil and Elwing who withheld the Silmaril.

Morgoth himself promises Maedros his revenge, and also presents the two other Silmarils, but says that he’ll hold onto them while Maedros does his own business. After all, if Maedros is on his side, then he’s technically already reclaimed the jewels and fulfilled his Oath, hasn’t he??

So while Maedros is in Angband, he slips deeper into madness, tortured by illusions of dead Maglor and the twins, and is also brainwashed and manipulated by Sauron. Maedros is sent on missions to ensure Morgoth’s control of Beleriand; other Free Peoples hear about this and try to stop him, but Maedros deals them. He knows he’s too far gone now, but he has nowhere else to go.

Eventually he becomes Morgoth’s army commander and leads an attack on Sirion. As a reward for his victory, Morgoth gives him Himring to use as a base against the “enemy.” During the War of Wrath, Maedros leads Morgoth’s armies alongside Sauron, and also acts as a spy during respites in the war. He assassinates Ingwion and the other commanders of the Valar’s host. Ancalagon defeats Earendil, Morgoth reclaims the third Silmaril, and the war is won.

Now Morgoth controls all of Middle-earth for certain. Maedros is known as his greatest servant, and it’s debated whether he’s greater than Sauron in that regard. Those two are rivals, kinda like enemies-with-benefits I guess? All of Maedros’ dark sides brought out and enhanced, since there’s nothing really holding him back now. He also has a whole bucket-load of issues added onto his previous ones; now that Morgoth has won, Maedros doesn’t have anything to look forward to that’ll take his mind off of his past and ghosts etc. He’s left hollow, just holding his territory, and all that.

It’s been some time since the War of Wrath now, a good chunk into the Second Age, when Elrond and Elros arrive. I could go on about how their reunion with Maedros goes, but I’m worried about making this post even longer than it already is, so I think I’ll end it here for now ^^;; Let me know if you’d like to hear more of my ideas! I haven’t fully finished this AU either, but I do have its ending in mind :DDD

just watched speak no evil and it was literally so promising until the last 30 minutes when it just went to pure shit. it’s like the (very single and lonely) creators got bored of their own premise and decided to throw it away at the last second.

#i don’t mind spoiling tf out of it bc I’m harshly judging anyone who watches this willingly (myself included) #basically it’s about a Dutch family and a danish family meeting on holiday in italy and becoming friends. after they leave the danish send #a postcard to the Dutch asking them to come spend a weekend w them bc their kid son misses their kid daughter and they all had such a good #time together. they go but these ppl are freaky as hell. but they’re kinda put forward as cultural differences. #like disagreements about lifestyle (meat eaters vs pescatarians) or raising children or restaurants. class difference etc #but then the dutch dad sees the danish dad spying on them as they have sex and the dutch mom catches the danish couple sleeping w her #daughter in the bed while they’re buttfuck naked #they go back for reasons unimportant bc the danish promise them a great last day but fuckin hey Ho that doesn’t happen #the son won’t stop crying in the night so his dad drowns him and the other dad goes to investigate and finds his body. he also finds #photos and luggage from previous families and in a compilation of photos u find out that #the danish couple basically kidnap families #steal their children #and kill the parents #and then pretend the kid is theirs. and they cut out the kid’s tongue so they can’t tell anybody #obviously that’s what happens here too but it’s fucking wild bc they get away ans then it gets so sloppy and stupid #the dad could’ve pushed the car that got ‘stuck’ but instead decided to swim a fucking river to get to a house in the distance ????? #wife somehow got signal and called the killer couple to help them????? #killer couple take them to the middle of nowhere and someone comes and holds the mom…… who just yells and girls at his arms a little….. #while the other woman cuts her daughters tongue out……… #then the rando guy just takes the kid. who just kicks her legs a bit in protest and yells. and then the mom just beats on the window and #screams. no attacking the psycho lady or anything #the dad says nothing he’s just vibing like 🧍🏻in the passenger seat #then they take them to the middle of nowhere. make them get naked. and then make them stand a metre away #AND THROW ROCKS AT THEM #LITERALLY #JUST THROW ROCMS AT THEM #TIL THEY DIE……. #no escape plan both just completely submit to their fate im like #this entire movie u have fought tooth and nail for ur daughter and now ur like #well <3 she has no tongue now so <3
