Breakdown [Isekai!Reader + Legend/Marin] (Part 1)
In which Isekai!Reader has a breakdown and then proceeds to break reality.
This fic is purely for my own satisfaction as I've yet to find this particular topic explored and I have a mighty need. I've taken liberties. This is self-indulgent trash.
PART: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4
Masterlist
TW: Choosing not to display warnings. Read at your own discretion.
Disclaimer: Don't own The Legend of Zelda franchise. Linked Universe is the fan creation of jojo56830.
---
You'd tried not to get close. From the moment you were tossed through the portal (conveniently right at the Chain's feet), you did everything possible to prevent either side from growing unnecessarily attached.
Didn't stop them from strong arming you into joining them though. As an abnormality from the portal, it was in their best interest to keep you close and monitored. Which was fair, so despite your misgivings you went along peacefully.
Though you made sure to let them know where you stood in all this.
You weren't cruel, per say, but you made sure to keep your distance and openly expressed your disinterest in opening up to them. You just wanted to find a way home, and for the most part they did their best to respect that.
Most of them anyway. Wind was an absolute menace. The boy was relentless in trying to wiggle his way into your good graces, always trying to include you in all his little side-quests and jokes.
It would be cute, honestly, if you didn't know he was trying to pump you for information. Clever, using the kid, if you didn't already know who these men were.
(If you're going to try to act friendly with the target Wind, remember to disarm yourself of obvious weaponry before approaching. Silly boy.)
You'd put money on Warriors having orchestrated most of the interactions between you and the youngest. You may not have as advanced senses as them, but you're not blind. It's obvious Wind is reporting to Warriors and Time the nights Wind takes extra pains to interact with you.
(Not that there was much to report. You stuck to your story. Came from a more futuristic world, don't know why you're here, the Heroes of Hyrule are just stories- myths- where your from. You don't know much about them. Yes, you have some secrets. No, they're not harmful to their merry little band. Pot, meet kettle. You'll show them yours if they show you theirs. No? Okay then. Last you checked, they forced you into their group. "Have a good night Time, I appreciate everything you guys do for me. Goodnight Warriors, Legend, Four. Sleep well.")
For being such powerful, experienced heroes, they're not always the brightest. Must be the influence of their Tri-force alinment. It takes a special type of person to do what they do afterall. YOU certainly wouldn't.
But you degress.
Yes, you did everything within your power to keep yourself separate from them without making them your enemies. Slept away from the group, tried (and sometimes failed) to percure your own food. Refused any gifts, money or luxuries offered to you that did not directly involve your continued well-being.
Hell, you even took to cutting grass in your spare time, just so you had something to offer up with you inevitably needed thier assistance. And wasn't that a shock, to find rupees just laying around in the grass. Money literally grow in plants here.
Mind blown.
("No Wind. You found that one, so it's yours. Thank you for the thought though.")
Overall, you thought you'd done an excellent job of it. They- usually- kept to their part of the camp, you stuck to yours (lonely though it was). You rarely talked to them unless strictly necessary or Wind managed to back you into a metaphoric corner. During travel you watched the world go by, acting as another silent pair of eyes.
You thought you'd managed to keep yourself in check.
What a fool you were. To ever think you could keep yourself from loving these kind, selfless, traumatized, courageous goofballs. How shortsighted, to think you would ever be able to stay impartial to their plight, to their pain.
When the divines cast a hook, you took it with both hands and didn't let go.
You're such a damned idiot.
It'd been one hell of a ride to get to the point of no return. Somehow, you'd stumbled though a second portal just as you and the chain had finished exiting the first. Literally, just walked out the first, moved 5 feet away from Legend (your portal crossing partner that time) and promptly stepped into another portal that'd opened right in front of you.
You'd heard Sky's alarmed shout, the beginnings of Wild's bellow, saw Legend try to make a grab at you from the fading entryway. You witnessed Legend flinch back in shock as a wisp of light pulled from his hand and disappeared into the portal. Saw him fall to his knees, seemingly crumbled in pain.
And then you were gone.
You fell onto warm sand, blinded by bright, warm sunlight directly in your eyes. The smell and taste of salt was so strong you can almost feel it coating your insides.
The sea, you quickly realize. Your back hurts from being tossed from the portal, but you're so, so thankful you landed on dry land and not somewhere in the middle of the ocean. A little pain is worth not succumbing to exhaustion and drowning after a desperate, futile struggle.
You laid there for a moment, shocked and grateful and shivering from adrenaline.
You noticed the portal didn't disappear, and none of the chain came charging through to save you either. You watched it for a while, taking deep breaths to calm your heart and waiting for something to happen.
Should you try to go back through? Why is the sound it makes so damn irritating?
"Are you alright?" A lilting voice asks unexpectantly, startling you from where you're sprawled on the sand. "Oh! Sorry! Didn't mean to scare you!"
It didn't click at first who this woman was. Long, beautiful red-blond hair, freckled, sun-kissed skin and a little red flower swaying in the sea breeze above her head. A sweet but sad smile, with just a hint of grief in her soulful dark eyes.
You were surprised she didn't notice the portal. You wondered why.
"My name's Marin. What's yours."
It should have clicked.
"It's..."
It didn't.
You broke your own rule, unwittingly though it may have been. Don't interact unnecessarily. Don't get involved. Don't put yourself in a position to get attached. Don't think about it too hard.
Don't. Get. Emotionally. Invested.
"Oh! What a lovely name! I wish we'd have met before-" Her eyes flickered sidewards, and it was then you noticed the biggest egg you'd ever seen on top of a volcanic mountain peak. Just there. A nightmare wrapped up in a pretty bow, waiting for someone to open it.
And he did.
It started to break right before your eyes. Light seeping out through the cracks and pouring down the volcano and into the surrounding land. It was not how you remember this going down, but you knew (without a doubt) what this was and what was happening.
The shock must have been evident on your face because she started talking again, soothingly, though her voice cracked with emotion.
You barely heard her, eyes fixated on the sight of a mountain slowly starting to disintegrate. On the sounds of screams in the distance. Of little shapes moving away from the light, like roaches across the mountainside.
Your eyes flickered to the portal, still there, waiting, emitting the most horrendous noise. A long dark corridor stretching out into a vast nothingness.
The sceams continued. Some cut off suddenly. It was a small island, and the mountain tall. It let their voices carry into the lands below.
Your body was cold. Your skin numb and prickling.
You noticed Marin still talking. Her eyes frightened, though she was trying not to show it.
She was trying to distract herself, you realized. "We should go to the village. Say goodbye. I'll-I'll introduce you to my father. You can be part of our family. No one deserves to- to without having a f-family."
You looked at her. Eyes wide open. Throat tight. Heart beating. Mind numb.
That was where she should have been right now, wasn't it. But she wasn't because she was talking to you. She was too far away to reach it.
(She was never meant to reach it.)
She knew that. You could see it in her eyes.
This world could not be this cruel. It couldn't. It just couldn't.
She looked to you with such sad eyes. Wet with unshed tears. So very aware.
No.
She reached out for your hand.
No.
Her fingers cradled yours, warm and soft.
No.
She tugged you slightly, inching closer. Other arm stretching, stretching. Embracing.
No.
Her skin was warm, like sunshine. She smelt of sweet fruit and clean sweat. Her heart was thundering.
No.
It was warmer still where she hid her face in your shoulder. Wet. Damning.
And then a whisper. The flutter of lips.
A secret, breathed like a confession.
"I'm sorry Link. I wish I could have lived for you."
You bent.
You twisted.
You ached.
"Marin. If you had the chance to survive this, no matter how slim, would you take it. Even if it meant giving up everything? Even if it meant having to live with the pain."
She stared at you, bewildered. And then-
Clarity.
"You're like Link. Aren't you?"
"Yes."
Her expression shifted. Beneath the sheen of tears, a fire ignited in her dark eyes. Hope, so strong it scorched the world.
It burned you too. That unyeilding will to survive.
"Take me to him." Her eyes softened, but were no less determined for it. Instead, her resolve set like obsidian. "So we may grief the loss of our family together."
Hook, set. Bait, taken.
Now.
Pull.
---
It was agony. From the moment you grabbed Marin's hand and attempted to enter the portal, it felt as though your entire bloodstream was on fire. Like being unmade and reforged all at once, originating from where your hand connected with hers.
You wanted to pull away, but you didn't. She wouldn't have let you either way. Her grip was an iron vice. Deceptively strong.
She didn't even flinch despite the sweat you could see gathering on her brow, the way her jaw clenched. Her entire body was covered in goosebumps, the hairs on her arms standing on end.
You couldn't imagine what she must be experiencing, if the feeling of her hand alone was enough to arrest your breathing.
You took another step forward. She matched it. It was like walking through wet sand, sticky and unyielding, but not impossible.
You moved one step at a time, slow and steady. Open mouthed panting, sweat running down your faces and soaking your hair, plastering it to your scalps. Your skin was flushed from exertion and you guys hadn't moved more than a few paces.
You weren't even out of sight of the entryway when the light was suddenly ripped away from behind. Leaving nothing but a yawning void.
Marin stumbled, as though her strings had been cut, and you followed. Your entire body was molten lava, bones scorched to nothing.
Someone was screaming. Or maybe you both were. You couldn't tell. Marin was gripping your hand with all her might and you gripped right back. The point of contact felt melted into her skin, like you were a part of her.
Or she was part of you.
Eventually, you felt her start to rise, pulling you with her. You couldn't see, but you knew she still had that fire searing in her eyes. No amount of tear stains could hide her will to live.
She took a step forward, and you followed her into the dark. One, two, three, four....
Time lost it's meaning. You'd long since lost count of the steps you two stumbled through together.
It was getting harder. Each step forward seemed to add another weight to your shoulders. It hurt to breath, it hurt to blink. You stopped opening your eyes a while ago. Your skin felt blistered and cracked.
You and Marin had tried talking, but it wore on her too heavily. She was gasping for air even more desperately than you were, breaths raw and ragged.
More time passed. Each step got harder. You were stumbling more than you were walking.
You were sure your nose was bleeding. You could taste the iron in your mouth, where liquid dripped over your upper lip. You couldn't feel your face.
Then Marin threw up. Fell to her knees and just kept puking and puking, struggling for precious air, whole body convulsing. You reach down blindly with your other hand to try to get her hair out of the way.
You overshot and your hand ended up in the spray (it was perfectly smooth like water, not at all natural). It felt like liquid metal across your skin, ripping a scream from your throat.
The smell of burning flesh hit your senses as you curled around your arm, the limb pulsing under you.
You could feel tension building in your body, heavy and foreboding.
Marin was crying. She was shaking. She retched again.
She clutched your hand like a lifeline, desperation corded into every muscle in her fingers. You squeezed back with everything you had, reassurance you were still there in the total darkness.
The tension snapped.
Then her hand went limp, only your grip keeping her from fully slumping to the ground. Dead weight.
"Marin?" You rasped, voice shaking with pain and shock. "Marin?"
She didn't respond. She didn't move. Her limp body slumped against your side, like a branding rod searing through your clothes.
Your heart raced in panic and it gave you the strength needed to pull your still burning arm from beneath you and feel for her pulse.
You found it. Faint. So faint it was a mere whisper, but there.
Ahead of you, an endless void. Behind you, the gapping maw of nonexistence. Nothing in all directions but the limp body leaned against your leg. The sound of the portal just kept growing louder, like metal scraping in your ear.
Your body was so heavy. Your skin seemingly peeled back and exposed, burning against the agony of existence.
You broke.
You shattered.
You felt.
"It doesn't get to be this way." You panted, eyes open, seeing nothing and stinging like hornets. "No. You don't get to do that."
Emotion rose like a tidalwave within you, boiling under the surface of your skin. You turned your eyes up, casting your gaze into the void there.
"You don't get to do that to them. You don't get to keep hurting them like this. They're not toys. They're real."
You swallowed thickly.
"They're real."
The emotion boiled over. The dam broke. Everything else was lost to the Rage.
"YOU!" You screamed, voice shrill, hot liquid falling from your lips as something stretched and burst. "Don't! Get! To! Keep! Hurting! Them! You don't get to do that! They're people! They're real people with real feelings and pain, Goddamnit!"
You were lost to that rage. The feeling that had haunted your every waking moment since the moment you fell through that first portal. Since first you realized where you were.
From the moment you realized who they were and what that meant.
"You don't get to take anything else from them! You hear me! Not a single. Damned. Thing. More!" You spat. "I will not allow it! I! Reject! It!"
You hauled Marin forward inch by agonizing inch with strength you should not have, using spite that ran so deep it tore at peices of your soul.
You weren't even looking forward anymore (what need have you to know when the torment ends, when you're never going to stop. not until death takes you). Instead, you'd braced your feet firmly and started hauling yourself backwards, back arched so far you were nearly sitting.
"I will not let you keep hurting them for your entertainment!" You screeched, not caring how it hurt. Not caring how spit and snot and blood ran down your chin. How sweat soaked straight through your clothes, stinging against the aching rawness of your skin.
You pulled, both hands latched onto Marin's one. The universe pulled back, trying to take this precious being from your grasp. Your progress was halted.
You snapped.
"FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU NITENDO. FUCK YOU GAME PEOPLE. FUCK YOU PLAYERS! AND FUCK ME TOO! FUCK ME FOR EVERYTHING I EVER DID TO HURT YOU! FUCK EVERYONE WHO EVER HURT YOU FOR FUN!"
You screamed then, rasping, tearing and wordless. Just kept screaming and pulling against the universe. Against the pain. Against the unfairness of it all.
The universe pulled again and you snarled like a beast, grip so tight on Marin's wrist you felt something cracking. She felt like Hellfire under your hands.
It only enraged you more.
"You don't get to have her! You don't get to hurt him anymore! You don't get to hurt any of them! They're mine now! You! Don't! Have! The! Right! THEY'RE MINE!"
A choked rasp, iron flooding your throat as the nosebleed gets worse.
"Marin is mine! Legend is mine! Hyrule is mine! Wind is mine! Warriors, Sky, Four are mine! Time and Twilight are mine! Wild is mine!"
Another step back, an inch gained.
Again, and again, and again.
"I'm going to take back everything you stole from them!" You howl into the void, uncaring of how absolutely broken your voice had become. "The moment you let your guard down, I'm taking everything! You. HEAR! ME!"
"I'M TAKING EVERY-"
The universe let go and you fell.
...and Marin fell with you.
Suddenly, there was gentle light filtered through leaves, cool spring air and the faint call of birdsong. No endless darkness or scorching magma in your veins or the infernal screech of portal magic in your ear. Just bliss.
And then your body reminded you that it was not fine.
Your muscles seized, tightening in painful reminder of the strain you had put them through. Your skin stung like sandpaper burn from head to toe, your lungs ached so fiercely it drew tears to your eyes.
Eyes tightly closed and teeth gritted, you curled around the limp body sprawled at your side, limbs intermingled as your body spasmed through the pain.
Then, there were hands on you and you cried out in agony.
Someone shushed you, soundly oddly choked and quiet as another pair of hands gently tried to move you. Then several.
You refused. Arms tightening around the precious being trapped in your embrace. You fought with what little strength you had left, sobbing as the hands managed to pry you loose.
You wailed in dispair.
Someone sobbed with you.
You finally succumbed to your body's desperate demands to escape the pain. You drifted away to the feeling of gentle arms cradling you close, of soft whispers in your hair.
Finally, peace found you. If only for a time.
---
Perhaps there will be a part two. Maybe even venture into yandere territory. Who knows.
I must return to the shadows once more to recharge.

Chapter One
Tumblr media
This is a slow-burn love story between Crepus Ragnvindr and Male Reader. The reader will be overpowered but it comes with a cost. Diluc and Kaeya are in their teens if I remember correctly and a part of the Knights of Favonius.
Warning: There will be slight spoilers to the Genshin Impact mangas and will be taking place before the game's events. This story will be mostly focused on Crepus, Diluc, Kaeya, and the Reader. Also, this will be taking its own path with the plot of the manga being mentioned at the end of the story.
This book was inspired by a music playlist on youtube called "POV: You are dancing with Howl but He's slowly falling in love with you." created by Krimson ツ.
~
Ursa the Drake, a dragon that terrorized Mondstadt for thousands of years stood tall in front of Diluc who was frozen in fear and pain. His father, Crepus, moves to face the dragon wearing a glove with a pyro delusion attached without a single hesitation. Chains sprout from Crepus' wrist successfully capturing Ursa. All was still, no one dares to move until Ursa's behavior suddenly changes and becomes aggressively violent. Breaking the chains around itself, Ursa raises its claws to lay a blow on Crepus, who was preparing for the worse.
*CLANK* *SPLASH*
Cepus was forced on his butt next to Diluc only suffering a grazed cut at his side. "Father?!M/n?!" Diluc called out rushing to Crepus' side.  M/n stood in Crepus' place holding Wolf's Gravestone tightly in his grip as he used the greatsword to bock the claws. His teeth were clenched and heavy breaths escape through his nose as he feels blood seep through the rips decorating his clothing in red. M/n lowers the weapons and lifts one hand to free the claps on his cape and grasping one side pulling it off his shoulders. Keeping his feet forward, M/n slightly turns, ignoring the pain in his side, to look back at Diluc and Crepus before tossing his cape in their direction giving them a final warm smile that was soon replaced with a look of determination as he faced Ursa once more. Dulic and Crepus eyes widened as they obverse M/n back. A delusion... no delusions, attached to his clothing alined down his spine: Pyro, Cryo, Hydro, Electro, Anemo, and Dendro.
"I... I was never blessed with a vision," You let out a breathless laugh, your hand brushing the geo visio-delusion at your hip before continuing, "Each one of these was given to me by those who traveled by my side until their last moments..." You held your hand towards the sky, dark clouds surround the area. You slam your arm, multiple lighting stricks flash down from the clouds hitting their target but they don't deter the dragon heading towards you.
"...I told them my promise..." The cooling feeling of raindrops on your face creates a smirk. The raindrops around you come to a stop in mid-air swift reforming similar chains around Ursa holding the dragon in place although it continues to struggle free and inch closer. "...So they asked me to carry them out with them by my side..." You return your grip onto the handle of Wolf's Gravestone as the water chains being to freeze spreading over Ursa's scales.
"...Each time, each one... I was weak and helpless..." The wind picks up at a rapid pace pushing Ursa back all while peeling the ice that tears its scales off. "...Even with these delusions, I'm a failure, a curse... I bring nothing but death to those who follow my promise..." To replace the ice, thorned vines sprouted from the ground while Cecilia flowers flourished underneath Crepus and Diluc, both of their injuries healing.
"...Then I realized my fears, my hesitations, my guilt..." You took a few steps towards Ursa, twirling Wolf's Gravestone in hand. Before stoping raising the greatsword and embed it into to ground. "...Cost many lives... I have a promise... No... I have promised..." Geo spikes shot up aiming at Ursa who let out a roar. Once again Ursa struggles just as before slowly managing to break the vines and leftover ice. "... And I will... ACHIEVE THEM!..." Flames burst from your body and Wolf's Gravestone blade. "...SO LONG AS THIS WEAPON NEVER BREAKS!..." A red wolf symbol appears before you with a faint howl you charged at Ursal. "...AND THERE IS A WIELDER TO ACCEPT THE BURDENS IT CARRIES..." A pillar of Geo spouts out from under your feet launching you into the air. "...NOTHING WILL STOP THE PROMISES... TO PROTECT THE ONES WE LOVE!"
Growing more fierce, the tip of Wolf's Gravestone blade to your fingers and finally down to your elbows was covered in flames. The flames lick your cheeks as it cases your hair into waves of fire. You can feel the flames burn through your clothes and your skin starts to heat in pain. But, you simply lifted Wolf's Gravestone above your head. "AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" Your scream and Ursa's roar filled the air sending chills down Crepus and Diluc's bodies. Due to the brightness of the flames, Crepus and Diluc look away and cover their face with arms. The flames could be seen miles away, those who see from a distant question in fear except for one whose heart is filled with worry.
"Father! Diluc!" Kaeya cries out upon seeing them in the distance with a few knights following closely behind him.
~ Months Ago ~
Humming a familiar tune to himself but an unknown tune to others. The adventurer with his eyes closed sat comfortably in the back of a wagon. His humming soothes passengers as they travel from Liyue to Mondstadt. The mother is thankful towards him for calming her two youngest children as others were thankful for feeling at ease. The wagon carried a Father who steered the horses, the eldest daughter, and eldest son, a mother holding a newborn, a young boy who reset against his sister, and an adventurer with a few resting creates near him. The family was kind enough to allow the adventurer to join them in return he was to protect them from harm seeing as he wielded a vision. The young boy with curiosity moves away from his sister and towards the adventurer. Such movements caught everyone's attention although the adventurer simply continues.
The young boy takes the chance to get a better look at the stranger. The adventurer had (hair color) hair, dressed in strange clothing, black gloves, a black cape attached to the collar of his top it was long to the point he sat on it. There was a geo vision, on top of his left thigh, attached to a belt around his waist.
"Hey mister, what song are you humming? I never heard it before," the younger boy asked. The adventurer stopped humming as he opened his (eye color) eyes and looked towards the boy, a joyful smile raises on his face.
"It's a song my father song towards my mother when he proposed to her. It was a song he sang on their wedding day and their anniversaries. One day, he came to me and taught me how to sing it so I may share its love." The adventurer couldn't help but chuckle when the young boy made a disgusted face as love was mentioned. The two eldest join in the fit of laughter and decided to join in asking the adventurer questions.
The eldest son asked about the adventurer's weapon to which he carefully summoned a greatsword. "His name is Wolf's Gravestone, I was told he survived greater battles and he never fails to protect his wielders and what they fought for. He originally belonged to a close family friend, who was an uncle to me. That old man gave Wolf's Gravestone to me for two reasons; he wanted this weapon tale to be remembered and to continue until the very end of time, the second reason was Wolf's Gravestone deserves a dedicated wielder whose goal could be shared with him and his burdens are trusted upon them." With a flick of his wrist, the greatsword disperses into thin air.
Next was the daughter who asked for his name and his reasoning for traveling. "Hehe... M/n L/n 's the name, and well Tayvat has many places to offer. The breathtaking views, many challenges, and battles to endure on the way. Besides I have a promise to keep after all."
Once again the younger boy wonders what places besides Liyue and Mondstadt have M/n traveled to. M/n cupped his chin thinking to himself. "Hmm... I have been to Sumeru: Never thought sand could be my greatest enemy, Snezhnaya: I nearly froze to death on multiple accounts, Inazuma: although it was short-lived I plan on going back when the time is right-" The wagon came to a sudden stop cutting off M/n and drew confusion. The mother moved to push back the cloth but was stopped by M/n who motion all of them to move further in the wagon before stepping out himself.
Carefully, you moved to the front of the wagon to see the father had stepped down from the driver's seat and stood in front of the horses. He was talking with two men dressed in armor, you notice the symbol on their chest plates identifying them to be a part of the Knight of Favonius. You looked around the environment see that both sides present a wall of rocks, ahead there was a cliff that stretches above and over the pass meaning they were under Windwail Highland.
"Is there a problem, sirs?" You asked standing next to the father giving the knights a sharp look. You were familiar with the Knight of Favonius as they are with you. Frenemies is what you like to call your relationship with them, there were many reasons as to why. But, know isn't the time to reminiscence about it.
Both the knights stiffen when you spoke, the father turned towards you and replied, "Ah! Traveler, it seems that we might need to take another route." You raise an eyebrow looking to the knights gesturing them to explain.
It took them a moment for one of them to answer, "W-well, there's a camp of hilich-" the knight that spoked was elbowed by the other stopping him midsentence. "What I mean is that this path is temporarily blocked off for the time being?" You rolled your eyes and sighed, not surprised by the poor attempt to hide information.
"How long may I ask? I may be able to help the process." You asked before innocently adding, "It would be a real shame to travel at night or camp out, especially with a newborn on board." You internally smirk seeing the knights contemplate before giving up and explaining how a hilichurls made camp on the path ahead. They and two other knights on the other side were instructed to redirect anyone until reinforces came to deal with the camp.
You looked to the sky and glace at the sun's position. If you were to take another route the time you reach Springvale the sun would be set so that wasn't an option. "I deal with the hilichurls, sir please wait here...and knights watch over them for me." You walk past the knights and down the past, you been itching for a fight.

Find the word tag
ty for the tag @zmwrites! my words are rain, break, low, and home.
rain
The Wraith stepped away, lip curling. Useless, just as all the other back-alley diviners had been. Zhirasea was running dry for him, and the likelihood of there being a mage of any real far-seeing power in the smaller scraps of civilisation scattered around it was lower than the average rainfall in the Howling Desert. In all honesty, the witch Indira had been his best chance at locating Lucian Everent through magical means. There was a reason she was in such demand that one of the Wives had chained her.
break
“You don’t happen to have a mirror on you, do you?” Leshanna asked.
“What?”
“To shatter it. I’d have to break it, but I would certainly replace it for you.”
“Do I look like the kind of person who carries a mirror in her pocket?”
“No, but I didn’t think I ought to make assumptions,” Leshanna said primly.
“Can you do it without a mirror?”
“Spells require components, so no.”
Aliyne groaned and flopped against the rock. “What good is a wizard without components? Can’t you do witchcraft instead?”
Leshanna stiffened.
“No,” she snapped. “I cannot.”
low
“Then you can’t find him,” said Aspiration. Rivaanlehnim shot her a dirty look – she was sprawled out on the low couch, taking up more space than the dracari liked to share. She met his awful gaze head on as she undid and redid the long braid that hung over one shoulder. “What? It’s true, isn’t it? You can’t find him.”
“I cannot find him,” Rivaanlehnim said. “That is not to say I cannot determine his location.”
home
He stared up at the ceiling, where Leshanna had strung up gathered herbs to dry and Quest had woven flowers into garlands that were colourful even if they were getting a little droopy. One of Aline’s spare knives had fallen out of her pack beneath the seat and was rolling back and forth, thunking against the wagon wall with the rhythm of the wheels. Much as they grated on each other, in the long days on the road the wagon had inevitably grown into something like a home, absorbing little pieces of each of them.
Lucian liked it, in the desperate kind of way that someone who has not had any real friends likes having people around.
no-pressure tagging @digitalsatyr23 @revenancy and @sam-glade with the words fall, find, wander, and journey. also consider this open tag if you'd like to do it!

ok i found the titles and couples she is gonna go with in better in black, so tbh i am happy with the couples choices , tho sad about malec, but eh its cassie's choice, like someof them i have missed and some are intersting choices like sebastian and seelie queen like ehm i am honestly excited to go back to one of my fav villans story, like genuiely i liked teh villans in tmi bc they were so humanly villanious)
tho just a personal opinion nothing against anyone who loves them, i didnt really care that much about cordiela and james relationship (yes i am currently re reading chain of thorns but i still dont feel anything towards them, ) or anna and ariadne either (i was legit more excited about helen and aline in trsom and ghosts of shadowmarket story about them) tho i am excited to know about clace, and kierian, mark and christina i missed them.
Yes, the Sebastian and Seelie Queen story is definitely intriguing. I think it's also important for us to learn their dynamic (idk whose pov it will be from) especially because Ash is a main character in TWP.
I'm not a huge Jordelia fan either (i think their storyline got ruined by bringing Matthew into it) but I like James. And I totally relate to you on loving the side characters because that was me when I read TID lol.

I'm not going on anon, and also not telling anyone to continue a chain.
Top 3 fics of yours that you wish everyone would read—GO!
Oh wow, thanks for asking (it really made my day <3). I'll stick with Hetalia here:
End of Innocence
Rome, 1544. As the fires of the Inquisition light the squares of Rome, the young priest Feliciano Vargas lives a life of silent terror in the shadow of his corrupt and ambitious older brother. Still, what he doesn’t know is that he’s a mere pawn in a web of intrigue and that in the end, no one will be spared
(fucked-up by excellence)
2. La Mort et Le Petit Lapin
Victorian England AU - the newly appointed detective Arthur Kirkland and his colleague A. Jones are trying to find the culprit behind a series of monstrous crimes. But Death has long fingers and this mission might very well be their last. Non-fluff, non-con FRUK, dark themes, vampirism.
(great Halloween read, still fucked-up)
3. No truth
There were no clean-cut truths in this and Alin knew that in the end – if he lived – he'd be left wondering which one of them was more fucked up in the head… Dark no-fluff BulRo fic with some AusHun
(toxic patterns and ... yeah, fucked-up)
I think they are the best in my opinion and I love them but fair warning, they're DARK, especially the first two.

And now, if you would see me rise, Ravel the silken web of words, Beaded with pearl and amethyst— The hood that veils my fiery eyes; Loosen the silver chain of words That binds me to your mighty wrist.
Nor sleek my feathers cannily With your ensorcelling sleepy words, Made out of mist and poppy-seed; Shatter the cage of ivory You builded me of carven words, And you shall see me soar indeed!
Then I will fly to some far peak Beyond the reach of all your words— And starve because you do not speak.

Roo and Velvet are the same person
I think roo and velvet from hazbin hotel may be the same person. This is a theory I have based off of their designs and what we know about these characters. First evidence for this theory is their designs:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When you compare roo and velvet’s designs they seem very different but in some ways they seem similar for example velvet’s entire color scheme is black, red, and white, while roo’s is red, black, and white. Velvet’s puffy shoulder thingy’s (i don’t know what they’re called) seem to somewhat aline with roo’s chains around her shoulders. velvet’s ahro is also really big and wild like roo’s only she has her hair tied up. She and roo also have the smae eye color and if you look at their eyes they have the same eye make u thing going on with roo’s being black and velvet’s being white. They also have the same eye shadow color.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now I wanna compare their beta designs:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Looking at their beta desings you’ll see that velvet use to have bows with eyes in her hair instead of scrunchies and roo has an eye association going on in her design. In roo’s beta design you can see that she and velvet seem to have a similar lipstick thing going on it’s unknown if that is on roo’s current design but it’’s worth pointing out:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s not exactly the same but again it’s worth pointing it out. As I already said they have some similarities in design but now I wanna compare what we know about them personality wise. For Roo we don’t know alot besides that fact she’s very powerful, but e know about velvet well enough to know that viv has said in live streams that velvet is good and aking potions and doing witchy things and roo seems to be wearing a hat that reminds me of a witch’s hat. We also know that velvet is a really crazy and chaotic person and roo just looks like a crazy and chaotic person.
So this is all the info I could think of for now but I’ve had this theory for a while and wanted to share I can’t wait for Hazbin to come oiut fingers crossed we get news on it this Halloween or on the 28th.

From Dust We Rise
Chapter Two
I awake to see a small frail lady standing over me.
"Your Highness," she says, bowing to me. As she straightens her posture, the light from the sunrise highlights the artificial grin that's plastered onto her face. "My name is Aline and I have come to prepare you for your special day." There is a grimace hiding behind her smile. The rotten smell is still lingering in my room.
My special day. My wedding day. When I was around seven years old and was just locked away, I would spend my day reading old tales of princes and knights sweeping a lady off her feet and carrying her away to a land where they could live in peace together. I wished to be that lucky lady. I was a princess, after all, an obvious prize for a noble man, so every morning and every evening I would pray for a brave man to come and save me by making me his bride.
I can't remember how old I was when I stopped saying that ridiculous prayer.
I stand up and try to stretch but my vision becomes blotchy and my legs stumble. The maid grabs onto my arms and steadies me.
"I need...I need medicinal tea." My headache is a lot worse than I thought it would be.
Massaging my head I add, "one for headaches and put a dash of Luksul in it." According to Heven's Manuscript, a guide for healers, Luksul is a common weed found in Yakasu. It gives a bit of energy when consumed in tea and it also aids in calming the nerves. It is considered a miracle herb.
"Yes, Your Highness," she replies, "I'll have someone bring it to you right away but please let us first leave this room." The maid's voice is strained but she tries to have some composure.
Also wanting to leave quickly as possible, I allow her to usher me out of the room. The maid slams the door behind us and breathes a sigh of relief. I straighten my posture and turn and look at her with a raised eyebrow.
Realizing what she had done she whispers "my apologies, Your Highness." She then gestures for me to take the lead in walking down the corridor.
In my hall, there are only several doors and they are all along one side. The closest one to my bedroom was my bath chamber where I am only allowed to bathe myself using one bucket of water. A door down is my library which is only open during the day. Reading at night is prohibited for the risk of me setting fire to valuable texts by lighting candles too close to the fragile parchment. The following three rooms down are the chambers of my maids, manservants, and guards. The last room that was the farthest away from mine, was the kitchen, the place where flavor is considered unholy.
And at the end of the hall, there is a great door the color of blood with golden eagle heads mounted onto the door. Every time I walk through the corridor heading to the bath chamber or my mediocre library I would always avoid looking at the door. The eyes of eagles always sent shivers down my back. I cried the first time I saw it.
Now on my path that is promising me a chance of freedom, this door is the one I must pass through.
I walk past the chambers slower than I thought I would. Yesterday my heart danced with joy each time the thought of the future came to mind. But now that my chains might now finally break, I am…hesitant?
Each step I take it feels as if my restraints are getting tighter. My knees feel weaker and my headache grows stronger. My posture is now suffering and my feet drag along the floor.
I reach out to Aline for support but a new body grabs hold of my waist and steadies me.
"My apologies, my lady," says a young voice,  "the barrier has not yet been dissolved. We were not made aware that you were leaving at this moment."
My head shoots up to look at the young man. He was not made aware? How was he not? And that was not the most intriguing thing he said. He bows to me waiting for my approval to rise. Though I'm still recovering from the shock of realizing how trapped I truly was for all those years, I tell him to rise. "What is your name," I ask.
"Sir Riueth, my lady."
"A barrier? You said there was a barrier? Where is it?"
The man dressed in armor carrying the Yakasu symbol replies politely, "yes, Your Highness, there is a barrier. It is on the door you see." He lets go of me and walks up to the door and knocks on it making pearly dust appear.
I am in awe. I have never witnessed any form of magic before but I had dreamed of it, imagining what it looked like from descriptions in enchanted books. I once attempted to wield it but could not even conjure up a wisp of smoke. And now there's beautiful pearly dust in front of me dancing around in the air before disappearing.
Aline appears at my side and places her hand firmly on my forearm. "I am deeply sorry, Your Highness, I thought they would have got rid of the barrier in light of the upcoming event today." Her eyes are void of any actual emotion. "I should have checked beforehand. Please forgive my negligence." She bows her head and I am left staring at her balding scalp. She begins to cough.
I ignore her coughing fit and look toward the guard and ask, "what is the barrier for?"
"It's to keep you safe, my lady," I glare at him, but the polite smile on his face does not waver. "As well as to keep you from leaving, my lady." He lowers his voice– his tone no longer pleasant, "you know your father would never want you to leave, well until today."
A chill runs through my body though I no longer feel a sense of dread. Aline's cough gets louder, sounding horribly painful but I still do not turn to her. The guard knocks on the door again but this time no magic dust appears. The barrier is gone.
He then gives a firm push on the door and it swings open revealing a sight to me that I have not seen in thirteen long years.
Before me is a magnificent courtyard with a glorious pistache tree plant in the middle and a well-kept stone path leading around it. Its red leaves beautifully capture the light of the sunrise, shining a strong crimson color.
To the far left of the courtyard was a gorgeous fountain. A golden eagle about to ascend into the sky is wonderfully crafted as the centerpiece, water spraying out from all around it. To the far right of the courtyard rows of red flowers grow in large pots as well as along the wall.
It was all so beautiful and well designed but for what purpose? The scenery was surely not for me to enjoy. Did the servants come out here to get a breath of air and space from me?
I look at Aline who has tears in her eyes from all of her coughing. Did she ever come here to take a little break? Rude Aline?
I take a breath and begin to walk through the courtyard, my eyes focusing on the auburn double doors across from me. I can feel Aline following and without breaking my gaze or stride, I hold up my hand.
"I am free now, am I not?"
"Uh, yes, Your Highness, but–."
"So I do not need to be shackled to you."
"But, my lady, I'm supposed to help!"
"I do not need you. I may not have been roaming the halls of the castle in recent years," my footsteps echo loudly on the stone ground, "but I am well aware that there are plenty of maids who can help me prepare."
I reach the doors and ignoring my rising anxiety and golden bear heads carved on the door, I knock twice. No magical dust appears this time instead the doors swing open in an instance revealing men clad in golden and red armor.
I fold my hands and tilt my chin a little higher. "Your Highness," they speak in unionism all respectfully bowing at the waist.
"Rise," I say, my voice clear.
They rise and one who appears to be the leader speaks, " My lady," he has kind eyes, "we were not expecting you for another three hours. Is there something wrong?"
Them too? What was Aline trying to do?
"So I have heard," I reply. " With that being said I request several maids to help me prepare and–," I point to Aline, "punished for her incompetence."
Aline's eyes widen in fear, " Please! Your Highness, I-!"
"Sir Riueth can inform you of the earlier events," I say ignoring her pleas. "King Tansei has made me aware that there is a chamber for me. Would you be so kind as to escort me to it?"
