It Hits Different This Time, Part 2
Angst, Hurt/Comfort, Rock Star Eddie x Steve Harrington
TW: Mentions of alcohol, drug abuse
QUICK AUTHOR'S NOTE: I'm so sorry that the last entry was so angst heavy, I promise this one provides some comfort! Eddie needed to take a big step here and he really, really does. Also, much love to everyone who commented, I've tagged you at the bottom of the post - let me know if anyone else would like to be notified of the next entry!
Part One / Part Two / Part Three / Part Four / Part Five
It was another five days before Steve heard from Eddie. Another five torturous days of radio silence, only this time, there wasn’t anything online. No new articles were popping up saying he’d been spotted somewhere, no new TikToks of him meeting fans on the street. The rest of the band was MIA too; Steve had thought about sending Jeff a text to check-in but ultimately decided to wait another couple days. Robin had been texting with Chrissy, after all, and if something bad had gone down, she would know.
When Eddie did finally call, it wasn’t from a number that Steve recognized.
“I’m getting a call from Malibu.”
“Holy shit!” Robin sat up on the other end of the couch and shot him a look. “Okay, just breathe dingus, okay? It’s going to be okay, I’ll be here the whole time.” She squeezed his ankle comfortingly. “You can do this.”
Steve accepted the call with shaky hands and brought his phone to his ear. “Hello?”
“Hey Steve.”
He shut his eyes and swallowed, trying to stop his voice from cracking. “Eddie.”
He heard Eddie let out a watery laugh across the line. “Do you, uh, have a minute?”
“Mmmm hmmm,” Steve hummed. He physically couldn’t get an actual word out.
This was it. Eddie was leaving, he’d cheated, it was over –
“I’m in rehab.”
Steve’s eyes shot open. “You’re what?”
Robin started rocking back and forth. “Turn it up!” She hissed, and Steve obliged, turning up his volume so she could just barely hear what was being said. (Was this a private conversation? Yes. Did Eddie know he’d probably immediately tell Robin everything? Also yes.
Was this news big enough to warrant having Robin eavesdrop?
Absolutely yes.)
“Yeah, I’m, uh, at the Promises Treatment Center in Malibu,” Eddie continued. “We got back about five days ago and when I saw your note, I –
“Look, Steve,” Eddie continued, and his voice was choked up, like he himself couldn’t speak, “I fucked up. I’ve fucked everything up. You are – you said in that note that you didn’t want me to give up on my dreams, and you’re right, making it big and getting famous for my music was my dream for literal years. Because I kept thinking “once I get a record out there,” “once I go on tour,” “once I win a Grammy,” “once I get a million dollars,” then I’d finally be happy.
“But it turns out the only thing being famous has done is make me pretty fucking miserable,” Eddie let out a harsh laugh. “But I was so goddamn convinced that this was it, you know, that I’d accomplished my dreams so I must be happy that I started taking whatever I could get my fucking hands on to make me feel that way. The thing is drugs and the alcohol and the parties never made it fucking last. It just made every other second that I was in the public eye that much worse.
“But I’d still made it, you know? I felt like I didn’t deserve to feel this fucking miserable. And everyone back home was so fucking proud and I didn’t want to let them down - ” Eddie paused for a few moments to clear his throat before continuing. “I didn’t want to let you down. Because Eddie “The Freak” Munson didn’t deserve you, but maybe Eddie “The Rock Star” could.”
Steve can feel his own throat closing up and he can barely see Robin’s face, his eyes are watering that bad. “Baby,” he sobbed. “I wish you’d told me.”
“Me too,” Eddie sniffled across the line. “I didn’t though, I just kept self-medicating and ignoring it, because that’s always worked,” he huffed sarcastically. “But then - ” Eddie cut off again, and Steve can hear that he’s trying so hard to hold back his own sobs, “then I came home last week and realized that I’d missed our goddamn anniversary because I was too fucking high and that you were gone and I just – I called Jeff and I told him to get me on a plane out here because you – you, Steve Harrington, you are the best thing in my goddamn life. And the only dream I want to chase now is the one where we get married and adopt some kids and grow old together.”
“Eddie,” Steve sobbed out again, and he heard Eddie start to cry too, and then suddenly they were crying together, even from hundreds of miles away.
“So I’m gonna be here for the next six weeks,” Eddie finally continued, his voice still full of tears. “I’m, uh, meeting with a therapist for a few hours every day and working through my shit. I wanna be a guy who deserves good things, baby. I wanna be a guy who deserves you.”
“What – what about the band?” Steve sniffled, rubbing at his eyes. A handful of Kleenex appeared in front of him. Robin must have gotten up to grab them at some point. He shot her a thankful nod and patted at his eyes; Robin nodded back and did the same, her face flushed that bright shade of red that accompanied her own tears.
“Murray wrote a provision into our contract where if one of us checks into rehab, then the band is instantly put on a two-year, non-negotiable hiatus.”
“But – what about your momentum, the label kept talking about it?”
“The label can go fuck themselves” Eddie practically growled over the phone. “Who do you think hosted the party where I first got my hands on the hardcore stuff anyways?”
“Babe - ”
“Murray said he was going to look into some sort of contract termination so we can sign somewhere else. And even if we didn’t have that thing written into our contract, we probably would have gone on hiatus anyways, or worse. That – the last leg was rough. Gareth was just as fucked up as I was and Jeff was fucking pissed. He kept having to pull Gareth out of orgies and shit while babysitting Phil and I too.”
“Did,” Steve swallowed harshly, “did - ”
“No, baby, never,” Eddie declared quickly. “Even when I couldn’t fucking see straight, you were the only one I wanted to be with. I honestly don’t even know who we were partying with at the end there, the label sent them for some PR shit, I don’t know. It’s just another reason why we want out.”
“Oh,” Steve murmured, “okay. Good. Or, well, not good. You know.”
“Yeah, baby, I do,” Eddie replied softly.
They sat in silence for a few moments, just listening to each other breathe. “I, uh,” Eddie started up again quietly, “I’m wearing the ring.”
“Yeah?” Steve found himself smiling despite the fresh tears welling up in his eyes.
“Yeah,” Eddie’s voice was just as choked up as before. “It’s perfect. You’re perfect.”
“Eddie - ”
“Look, I know, I know I hurt you so, so badly and I’m never going to fucking forgive myself for what I did, but I – you’re everything I want, baby. If I had to give up Corroded Coffin tomorrow for you, I would do it in a heartbeat. And I – I know I can’t expect for you to just, like, forgive me after the shit I pulled, but – will you be there, when I get out? Can I – I want to come home to you,” Eddie finished, and Steve could hear that he was crying again.
Steve looked over at Robin, who was wiping more tears out of her own eyes. They looked at each other for a few moments.
It might be crazy, but I think I want to say yes.
I don't blame you. I mean, this is one hell of an apology, especially from Mr. “I’ll Never Need to Go to Rehab Ever.”
Yeah. And I love him.
And you love him.
“I’ll be there,” Steve murmured reassuringly, and Eddie burst into a new wave of muffled sobs on the other end of the phone. “Just do what you need to do and come home when you’re ready, okay? I’ll be waiting for home.”
“At home?” Eddie’s voice broke on a whimper.
“At home. I’ll even clean the bathrooms and everything,” Steve joked, and Eddie let out a loud laugh despite the quiet sobs Steve could still hear.
“Really? You’ll be there?”
“Yeah, Eddie. I’ll be there. We can get through this.”
“Together.”
“Together. Because I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone.”
“Fuck, Stevie,” Eddie let out an incredulous laugh again, “I love you so fucking much, baby. I’m going to marry the fuck out of you someday.”
“Save the sweet talk for when you get home, okay?” Steve could feel his heart settling in his chest, and whatever tears he’d had left to cry were all gone now. There was just the twinge of missing Eddie, but that would go away soon enough. “I’m so fucking proud of you, Eds.”
“Thanks, baby.” Eddie’s answer was soft now. “So I, uh, get a couple hours to call people every day from one of the site’s phones. Can I keep calling you?”
“Please,” Steve heard Eddie exhale in relief. “Every day sounds perfect.”
“Good, good. I’ll have to, uh, use some of my time to talk to Wayne, but the rest of it is yours, baby. And Gareth, Jeff threw him into a different center too. His check-in was much less voluntary though.”
“Shit,” Steve winced. “Is there anything Robin or I can do to help?”
“Take Jeff and Chrissy out to a nice dinner and use the Amex,” Eddie snorted, causing Steve to laugh.
“Consider it done.”
“Good." Steve heard the sound of another voice behind Eddie. Eddie replied something Steve couldn't understand, but it was in the affirmative. "Doc says my time is up for today. My, uh, talk with Wayne took up a lot of time,” Eddie returned, and his voice trembled as he spoke. “But I’ll call you tomorrow and I’ll see you in six weeks.”
“Yes you will.” Steve shut his eyes and imagined Eddie was standing right in front of him. Eddie with his riotous curls and holey graphic tees and tight jeans. Eddie with his rings on his fingers, with Steve’s ring on his finger. Eddie, standing across from him and smiling at him with that twinkle in his eye that had first caught Steve’s attention all those years ago.
“I love you, Eds.”
“I love you too, sweetheart. I’ll see you on the other side.”

In part 4, you meet another one of Eddie's dear friends, Robin Buckley, and get invited to a barbecue. Eddie tries to cut ties with a messy part of his life as his feelings for you grow. Your time with Eddie gets cut short again when the darker elements of his lifestyle comes calling. I've purposely left out physical details about your roommate Katie, so that you can picture her however you want.
A/N: I am so honored by the enthusiasm some of you have shown for this, and please know I think about you all the time as I write it. Also, I've barely been posting here a month, and I'm always open to any tips or suggestions. Love to hear what you thought and what you'd like to see happen 👀
It’s a good thing Eddie left with Charlene because he didn’t have to see how tipsy you got, stumbling out to the car at the end of the night, shoes catching in the gravel, babbling to Jeff how much you loved him and how glad you were that he was your friend.
“Girl, you better tell me everything that went down,” Jeffery said as he got in behind the steering wheel and helped you snap your seat belt together, because your aim was awful. “What did Charlene say to you?”
In the 8 months that he’d known you, Jeff had never seen you like this. Sure, you had a bit of that eccentric, scatterbrained artist way about you, but you were always professional and, if something someone said ever got to you, you never let it show.
“Charlene WHO?” You asked, and then you laughed hysterically, tossing your head back against the seat, as if what you’d just said was the most hilarious thing ever.
Jeff coughed out a laugh, looking over at you, wishing he had a tape recorder to play this conversation back for you on Monday.
You took a drink from the water bottle in the console, swallowed a few times, and then told him the story, as best as you could remember it, as Jeff maneuvered the car out of the long country road and back to the freeway.
-----------
“Who was that girl you were talking to?” Charlene asked Eddie as they drove off into the night. They were in a sleek, black utility vehicle this time, complete with heated leather seats.
“A friend,” Eddie told her. Not to minimize the crush he had on you, but he didn’t know what else to call you. If you were someone he was dating, he would’ve said that, but whatever the two of you had barely qualified as anything yet.
She reached over to squeeze his leg right above the knee, and tried to slid her hand further up his thigh, but he pushed her away. “I’m not in the mood,” he grumbled.
“Well, I didn’t mean to break up your little romantic moment, or whatever it was,” Charlene shrugged and looked out her window to the cars passing by on the freeway. “I just didn’t want you to make a fool out of me in front of my friends.”
Eddie had his wrist high resting on the steering wheel and he looked over his arm at her. “You don’t own me, you know that, right?”
Charlene adjusted her skin tight dress and began to fidget with one of her gold bracelets. “I own the things I pay for, and you were supposed to be mine for the evening.”
Eddie worked his jaw in silence, realizing in at that exact moment that he was done being her little bitch. Her attention and the money had been flattering, and the sex had been exciting the first couple times, but he could barely stand to look at her anymore, no matter how gorgeous she was. The radio was on low (Head Like a Hole by NIN) and he wondered about what you’d asked him earlier, about why he never called. He should’ve called to thank you for the painting, that was true, but the days of the week started to blur together, and he never saw Steve to ask him for your digits. Plus, what would he say to you? He was admittedly more of a hands-on type of guy, and not great over the phone, but he was willing to step out of his comfort zone for you, if you needed him to.
“You’re coming in, right?” Charlene cooed, noticing that he wasn’t following her into the house after he parked the car in the garage.
Eddie shook his head, lighting a cigarette, about to head over to hop on his chopper that was hidden along the side of the house. “I told you, we’re not doing that anymore.”
In response, Charlene rolled her eyes and gave an exaggerated groan, digging in her purse to pull out a wad of cash. “Well, here then,” she shook the handful of hundreds at him. “Take your money. That’s all you care about, right?”
Eddie had to scoff. Money was all he cared about? Her manipulation techniques were first rate, he had to give her that.
He hollowed his cheeks to take a long pull off his smoke. “Nah, keep it,” he said on the exhale, a plume of white smoke exiting pursed lips, turning his back on her and flipping his collar up on his leather jacket. “Save it for your next bodyguard. I’m done.”
One of the garage doors was still open, but Charlene seemed to forget and raised her voice. “Eddie, wait! I’m sorry!”
Her voice seemed to echo through the entire street, but Eddie kept walking until he disappeared around the corner of the building.
“You can’t just walk away from me like this!” She added, but he was already revving his bike and shifting into gear.
----------
You’ve had a couple doozy hangovers in your day, but a red wine hangover? They were the god awful worst. You got up to hydrate and eat something early in the morning, and then you went back to bed.
Later on, you sat on the couch with some tea and your eyes half open and the hood to your sweatshirt over your head like a shroud while Katie told you how expertly Steve had rocked her world the night before. Apparently, before he fucked her 8 ways to Sunday, he took her to one of the new bars on the outskirts of town where a band was playing, and there were two of her old students there who recognized her.
After the show, she gave Steve road head, and then they ended up doing the dirty in the back seat of his car like teenagers.
“What is happening to me?” She asked you, feeling all sorts of sore and stretched out. “This is not how I saw myself acting at this age, but I can’t say I hate it. How was your night?”
“I don’t want to talk about it,” you said with a shake of your head, the movement making your temples throb. “Tell me more about Steve. What’s his deal? Does he have family here or?”
Your mind kept flashing back to the look on Charlene’s face, and how sloppy you’d been in the car with Jeff, and it made you want to cringe and bury your face in your hands.
“He didn’t mention his parents, but he’s got a little kid. A son named Oliver,” she used the remote to change the channel on the TV, but the sound was on mute. “The mom isn’t in the picture anymore, though, I guess she split when he was just a baby.”
Your eyes snapped open to full awareness, recalling that Steve had similar eyes and hair coloring to Eddie, and you pictured the photo of that doe-eyed toddler taped to the dash of his tow truck.
“How old is he? Steve’s son, I mean?” You asked, the opportunity to put new pieces to the Eddie puzzle together snapping you out of your malaise.
“He just turned 5 last month,” Katie said through a yawn. “And you will never guess who Steve lives with,” she held her breath there for a few beats, suspended, waiting for you to pull a name out of the air without any hints. You couldn’t even begin to try; your brain was about as active as smashed peas.
After reading your vacant stare, Katie continued, bobbing her chin with each word, “Robin Fucking Buckley.”
Katie had been interested in both men and women since you’d known her, and Robin was a woman she’d met when she first moved to Hawkins after college, and had an instant crush on. The crush never went anywhere, though, because Robin was in a relationship at the time, and Katie had not yet come out as bisexual, so she wasn’t sure what to do about the feelings she was having, but you vividly remembered hearing how she gushed over her.
“They’ve been raising Oliver together,” she continued. “He told me about Robin after he and I had sex though, so then it made me feel weird and I didn’t tell him that I used to daydream about being with her.”
“I can’t believe what a small world it is here,” you mused, suddenly wishing the phone would ring, and that it would be Eddie, and he’d say, “I can’t stop thinking about you.” But, that didn’t sound like Eddie, did it? It was more likely for him to bring a spare tire by and mow your lawn while you were at work. Superficial words of adoration? You weren’t sure that was his thing.
“Are you planning on seeing Steve again?” You were curious for selfish reasons, because Steve was your only current link to Eddie.
“We talked about the fact that we’d rather this be a fuck buddy thing than something serious, but he did invite both of us to a barbecue they’re having at their house on Sunday.” She smoothed her lips together and stared at the carpet, her eyes getting glossy from not blinking. “I’m not sure how weird it would be for me to see Robin again, though. I really had it bad for her.”
Sunday was a day away, and you hoped that your hangover would be gone by then, because it didn’t feel like it was dissipating any time soon.
---------
The little boy with the thick head of wavy, golden brown hair screeched, “uncle Eddie!” as he ran toward him at full tilt, and then dove at his shin and wrapped is arms around his legs.
Eddie bent down to latch his hands under the tiny monster’s arms and swung him up in the air. “What’s going on, big man?” He adjusted the kid at his hip like it was second nature, like he was born to be Uncle Eddie.
Robin Buckley was just shutting the door to her car in the parking lot of Munson’s Garage and following behind Oliver at a stroll, grinning as she watched the two of them together. She pushed her sunglasses up into her blue-streaked hair, and the hoop piercings on her eyebrow and lip glinted in the sun. Eddie had just dismounted his bike and was taking his helmet off to hook it on one of the handlebars.
“Can you watch him for a bit?” Robin asked, her hands in her back pockets. She had on a Bikini Kill t-shirt on under a red and black flannel and holes in the knees of her jeans. “I have to run some errands, but Steve can pick him up in two hours.”
Eddie was actually just in the middle of rushing to several different places trying to get a project finished, and had a billion things on his mind, but Steve and Robin and Oliver always came first; they were his family.
“Oh I think I can manage that,” Eddie turned to Oliver, and Oliver put his hands on Eddie’s cheeks, smooshing them in a little. “What do you think, Ollie, wanna have some beers and play some poker with me?”
Oliver nodded, ecstatic, his mouth open.
“Ha ha,” Robin bent forward to brush some hair out of Oliver’s eyes and planted a kiss on his cheek before stepping back. “Maybe Uncle Eddie will make you some of those butter noodles you like.”
Oliver said, “airplane,” and Eddie scooped him on his belly with both arms so he was horizontal, and spun around in a circle a few times. Uncle Wayne saw them from the office window and was already headed over with his arms out.
Eddie lowered Oliver to his feet and said, “go say hi to uncle Wayne,” to which the boy took off as fast as his legs could carry him across the pavement. Eddie reveled at the joy on Wayne’s face as he bent down to hug the kid tight, and then took his hand to walk him back to the office. There was a TV in there with a bunch of cartoons on VHS just for Oliver, and some of the building blocks and toys he liked to play with.
“How is he?” Robin asked. Wayne was too far away to hear them, but she waved.
“Same,” Eddie cleared his throat, trying to get rid of the lump he felt there. “I don’t think the chemo is doing jack shit, but what the fuck do I know.”
Robin knew how much of a toll Wayne’s illness was taking on Eddie, but it made him uncomfortable to talk about it, so she didn’t push him.
“So, when are you coming to the barbecue tomorrow?” She asked as they made their way over to the shade of the awning just under Eddie’s apartment.
“Shit, that’s tomorrow?” Eddie frowned like he was working out a math problem, scratching the stubble on his jaw. “Why did I think it was next week?”
“Because dingus probably didn’t remind you like I told him to,” Robin dropped down into one of the plastic chairs with an ‘omph’. “There will be plenty of food, just bring some beer, or whatever alcohol you want to drink.”
Eddie sat down on the picnic table bench across from her, elbows on his knees. “I’ll bring beer and burgers, but I can’t drink that much for a couple days, Fight Night is next weekend.”
Robin dropped her shoulders and gave him a look. “Please tell me you’re not getting in the ring this time?”
“I have to,” Eddie shrugged, leaning back to plant his forearms onto the top of the picnic table, stretching his chest out. “I won the last one, remember? Winner always gets challenged.” He brushed something invisible off of the front of this work shirt. “But this will be my last fight for a while, Rob, I’ll forfeit if I have to.”
“Good,” she snorted her approval. “You and Steve are getting too old for this shit. We’re all getting too old for recreational activities that could possibly end up in broken bones and hospitalization.”
“No one is putting me in the hospital, I promise you,” he raised his eyebrow at her, confidentially.
Changing the subject, Robin shifted in her seat and narrowed her eyes. “What do you know about this chick that Steve has been talking to lately? You met her, right? Her name is Katie something.”
Eddie’s heart raced at the mention of Katie, but for other reasons. “Yeah, her and her friend saved our asses that night that we almost got pinched by the cops.”
“Okay,” Robin nodded. “What else do you know? Steve said you’d met her before?”
“What’s with all the questions? I don’t they’re as serious as---”
“Because, Edward, he went ahead and invited her to the barbecue, a complete stranger, without running it by me first. You know I don’t like Oliver to be exposed to every transient piece of ass he has a fling with, especially if they’re just another bar fly who tries to sneak a line of coke off the tank on our toilet like last time.”
Eddie knew she had a point; although Oliver wasn’t biologically hers, Robin had been helping to raise him since he was 7 months old, and she had turned into a fierce momma bear. He lost his train of thought for a second because if Katie was coming to the barbecue...then maybe….
“Earth to Eddie?” Robin clapped her hands together once.
“Yeah, sorry,” he shook his head as if to clear it. “First of all, she’s employed, she’s a teacher at the high school. English or Geometry or something.”
Alright, Robin liked the details so far. Dating a woman who had gainful employment was an improvement for Steve.
“I guess I sold her weed years ago, before I moved away, but I must’ve blacked a lot of that time out because I don’t remember her. I knew her brother Danny though, and he was a nice kid.”
Robin was biting her lip, drumming her fingers on the arm rest, taking in the information, and then she decided to change the subject, cocking her head. “What about you? Seeing any one special these days? Anyone you’d want to bring with you tomorrow?”
Eddie ran his fingers through his hair a couple times, pondering if he should tell her about you, but then decided against it. He didn’t want to answer a bunch of questions and, more importantly, he didn’t want to jinx anything.
--------------
It was one of those picture perfect days for a barbecue; the sun was out, but the temperature was mild, and all of the cherry blossom trees along the street were blooming. Steve and Robin’s house was located in a neighborhood that had a reputation for being a sketchy, but the yards were all well kept with little gardens. The house itself was Easter egg blue with white trim, a front square of lawn that was neatly edged and mowed, and then a driveway along the side that led to the back patio. There were three motorcycles parked on the street among the other cars, as well as that black Chevelle you saw at the garage.
“He’s here,” you breathed, balancing three dishes of food in your lap as Katie turned the car off and you both looked around. “I know he’s here. Wait, please take me back home.”
“Forget it,” Katie laughed. “We talked about this. The safe word is ‘pineapple’ if one of us is having a really awful or uncomfortable time.”
You tilted your head so that you could look up at the house. “What if he brought that Charlene lady?”
“Eddie might be a little oblivious at times, but I don’t think he’s an idiot,” Katie assured you. “Besides, that bitch does not want to catch these hands.”
“How well did you say you knew Robin?” You asked, stalling.
“We worked together when I had that warehouse job back in ‘89 or ‘90. We barely spoke ten sentences to each other, and exchanged a few goofy looks. I doubt she’ll even remember me.”
Oh, Robin remembered her, alright. You could tell by her face when she caught site of the two of you walking up the driveway from the living room window.
Robin gasped and ducked behind the curtain, pressing her back against the wall next to the bookshelf, out of sight.
“Steve!” She hissed, trying to get his attention in the kitchen, waving him over. He was bending down to grab another beer out of the refrigerator, talking to one of his buddies from the bar he bounced at from time to time.
He stopped what he was doing and came over with a look of concern on his face, his eyes scanning around for what might be bothering her.
“What is Katherine Clayton doing here?” She asked in a tense whisper.
Steve peeked around the curtain to catch a quick glimpse of who she was talking about, just as the two of you disappeared up the driveway around the corner of the house.
He was shaking is head, confused. “That’s Katie. What are you talking about?”
Robin’s eyes widened. “You had sex with Kathrine Clayton?” And then, as the realization sank in that Steve had done the deed with one of her long-standing secret crushes, she groaned and headed for the bathroom so that she could sit on the floor in there for a few minutes and regroup.
“Wait!” Steve whispered after her. “Please tell me you didn’t fuck her too?”
“I wish!” Robin yelled, just as she shut the bathroom door and he heard it lock.
----------
Eddie was at the grill cleaning it off, his back to you, and your eyes locked on those unmistakable broad shoulders in a black t-shirt that had Megadeth tour dates half covered by his long hair, dark wash jeans cuffed at his boots, and a blue handkerchief hanging out of his back pocket. One knee bent out to the side; wallet chain draped over his thigh. Muscular triceps flexing under various colors of tattoo ink.
“Pineapple,” you said under your breath. A tape deck and two speakers were on the steps as music by Soundgarden blessed the event. You scanned the other 10 or so people there and didn’t see Steve, but another guest in one of the lawn chairs greeted you with a tilt of her beer.
The sound of the greeting made Eddie turn his head nonchalantly, but then once he saw it was you, he dropped what he was doing and spun around, wiping his hands on a rag as he went.
“Where should I put these?” You asked, referring to the stack of side dishes in your hands.
“Here, let me take them,” Eddie came over and bent down a bit to get his hands under what you were carrying, and his fingers fumbled on top of yours for a few seconds before the pass was complete, hard edges of his rings grazing the underside of your palm, both of you letting out a few goofy laughs. You had a low cut shirt on and you were delighted to find his gaze hovering on your cleavage more than once.
“This way,” he inclined his head for you to follow him over to a long table by the fence, his mouth kicking up on one side in a grin.
Steve’s head was still reeling over the fact that he accidentally slept with a girl that Robin had a crush on when he came out to welcome Katie with a hug and ask her what she wanted to drink. Steve was in full biker attire with his leather cut on over his t-shirt, leather pants, and his sunglasses on with his hair slicked back.
“Whatever you’re having,” Katie shrugged. “I’m easy. But, you already know that.” It was a joke, but under the circumstances, it made Steve feel worse. There were very few women on the earth that Robin admitted to having crushes on, and he managed to bury his cock inside of one. The sex had been fucking amazing, too, but he tried not to think about that.
Steve and Robin crossed paths as she was coming out and he was going in to get Katie a beer, and then Robin made her way over to greet her, trying not to let the disappointment read on her face.
“Long time no see,” Robin quipped, sliding a hand into the front pocket of her distressed, baggy denim.
“I can’t believe you remember me,” Katie balked, sincerely shocked.
“Whatever,” Robin looked down at the ground shyly and flexed her toes inside her Converse. “I used to use the water fountain on the other side of the warehouse just so I could get a glimpse of you in those daisy duke shorts you used to wear.”
Wait, Katie’s brain raced, was Robin insinuating that she used to have a crush on her too? That whole time??
“I know it’s been 6 years, but I still have the shorts,” Katie assured her, winking as she took a sip of her beer.
You were about to walk over to grab one of the folded chairs leaning up against the house, but Eddie told one of the guys to get up so that you could have his chair. You were about to protest, but the young dude with a full sleeve of tattoos popped to his feet and went to find another seat before you could get the words out of your mouth. Eddie wanted you to sit next to him, and that was that.
Eddie was still standing, about to ask you what he could get you to drink, when the screen door slammed open and a little dark haired boy came down the steps with Steve. “I’ll push you on the swings until uncle Wayne gets here,” Steve cooed in a very daddy voice.
“I owe Wayne big time for watching him tonight so that I could get drunk,” Robin said across the patio to Eddie.
“Are you kidding?” Eddie put his hand on your shoulder as he talked, casually showing ownership to everyone else at the party. “He loves hanging out with little big man.” You peeked at his ring-clad fingers that cupped your shoulder out of the corner of your eye and your stomach exploded with butterflies.
Oliver went over and hid behind Robin’s legs, and she introduced him to you and Katie. “He’s really shy around new people,” she said, tousling his hair. “But once he gets to know you, he’s a chatterbox.”
The little boy locked eyes with you curiously from behind Robin’s pant leg and continued to keep a silent watch on you until for the next 30 minutes until Wayne picked him up.
Everyone sat in an informal circle, and you were introduced to each person at the party, most of their names you forgot as soon as they were said to you. You found out that Steve was a tattoo artist, as well as being bouncer at a bar, and a couple of the guests worked with him and brought their significant others. One of the women was Robin’s ex, who she was still good friends with, and a woman she knew from the coffee shop she worked at. You also met one of Eddie’s bandmates Gareth, the only other original member, and his wife. You drank your first beer on an empty stomach and Steve encouraged you to tell your version of what happened that first night you all met at the Hideout. Eddie discouraged it, wanting to forget most of that night ever happened, but you continued. A few things you said made everyone laugh, and Eddie clapped his hand on top of yours at one point to squeeze it, giving you a wink and a little bitten-lip half-smile as he did so. You turned and met his eyes, the chemistry of your cosmic pull sparking little glints at the corners of your mouths; the unspoken hope of something new, something special.
When it was time to eat, Eddie asked you how you liked your burger, and when you told him you were a vegetarian, he startled you by clutching at his chest dramatically, pretending that you shot him in the heart, dropping his shoulder back. “Burgers are one of the things I do really, really well though,” you were sitting in the chair closest to him as he worked on the patties for everyone else.
“What are the other things you do well?” You were being coy, feeling a slight buzz as you sipped your second beer.
He looked at you over his shoulder and playfully raised his eyebrows a few times. “Wouldn’t you like to know.”
Eddie was having a hard time restraining himself from not bending down to kiss you with how adorable and flirty you were being. The only thing stopping him, besides not being sure you even wanted him to kiss you, was the fact that every single relationship he’d had with a woman for many years had been purely sexual, and things always escalated quickly. He was tired of sticking his cock in warm bodies he barely knew. Or worse yet, warm bodies he had grown to despise, like Charlene. He was tired of riding this hardcore persona every minute of every day. He wanted you to see the geeky side of him, the devoted, adoring side of him that he never let out of the bag because he didn’t trust himself to be vulnerable.
“Will you look at that,” Robin whispered to Katie who was in the chair to her. Her eyes were trained across the way at how close in proximity Eddie and you were. You were both making each other laugh, sneaking in whatever opportunity you could to touch each other, if only a brush of the elbows. “Did you know about this?”
Katie leaned over in her chair, putting her head to her shoulder. “It’s been brewing for a couple weeks now,” she told Robin. “Y/N has had a really rough couple years. She hasn’t shown interest in anyone since she moved here.”
“How come I’m always the last to know these things?” Robin asked, indulging herself with a deep inhale of the cinnamon spice smell of Katie’s hair, and then she turned to look at her, and the two of them shared this moment when their faces were extremely close in proximity for a heartbeat before they both jumped apart.
Just as the sun was starting to set, they lit the scattered tiki torches and the hard alcohol came out. Robin was the first one to throw back a shot, followed by Steve and Katie. The crowd thinned out by half, and you walked over to talk to Katie and grab a can of beer. He came over as you were about to pull the tab open and he stopped you, holding out his hand.
“Shotgun one with me?” He asked, his cheeks rosy, and his full pink lips inviting.
“Yasssss,” Robin overheard and stood up to get her own can with a hop in her step. “Steve! Shotgun with me!” Robin was definitely feeling the alcohol, and it was a happy sight for Steve because his best friend worked tirelessly every day to take care of him and Oliver and to keep their lives organized. He’d be running around like a chicken with its head cut off trying to raise Oliver and work two jobs if not for her.
You looked around, and then down at Katie, who shrugged her shoulders.
“I’ve never...I don’t know how,” you laughed, hoping he wouldn’t think you were super lame.
Eddie winked, “I’ll teach you, Princess,” and then he held up the beer in his hand and explained how to hold it as he used the metal teeth from one of his keys to punch a small hole in the aluminum, and some of the beer misted his neck.
You watched how Steve shotgunned his, and you hoped it didn’t activate your gag reflex in some embarrassing way.
Standing in the grass behind where Robin and Katie’s chairs were, Eddie kept eye contact with you as he brought the punctured hole in the can to his mouth, lips wrapping around, and then he tilted his head back and flipped the tab so that the liquid went shooting down into his throat. You watched his Adam’s apple jerk up and down as he swallowed, some beer seeping out the corner of his mouth.
He made a refreshing ‘Ahhhhhh’ sound when he was done, and then he took your beer can to puncture it in the same way.
“Ready?” He asked. You weren’t, but you said yes anyway, liking the way his mouth kinda hung open, waiting for your answer.
He took hold of the back of your neck as he brought the can to your mouth, careful not to spill any of it on you. After a preemptive, nervous swallow, your hand replaced his on the can and you closed your eyes tight just as you flipped the tab and it hissed, shooting the cool liquid right over the back of your tongue and into your throat.
Some of it came out of your nose as you bent over to cough, wiping your mouth with the back of your hand, snorting at how it tickled in your nostrils. With his hand still clutching the back of your neck, Eddie pulled you close and said, “good girl,” in your ear in a low octave that made your pussy twitch.
Once your coughing spasm was over, you tilted your head up, and suddenly his fingers were cupping under your chin, his thumb swiping from the corner of your mouth over your bottom lip to catch a drop of beer left there.
It hadn’t meant to be a sexual gesture, one that made the blood run to his cock, but it became so in the time it took for his thumb to make it from one side of your mouth to the other, and one of your hands went to rest on his waist.
A few feet away from you, Steve screamed, “bullshit!” and the group broke into laughter at something Robin said.
Stolen from his reverie by the jolt of reality, Eddie lowered his hand from your face and dropped his chin to his chest. “I’m sorry about the other night,” he said, gnawing a few tiny bites on his lower lip. “The whole thing that happened at the art show.”
“You don’t have to be sorry,” you told him, sincerely, moving your hand from his waist to crook your finger into one of his front belt loops.
When his eyes lifted to yours, it was from under his lashes and his heart swelled up a bit at the way you were looking at him, like he really hadn’t done anything wrong. He felt like maybe, if you could forgive him for some of the things he’d done, then perhaps he could forgive himself.
“I don’t work for her anymore,” he confessed, crushing his can flat on his leg with a violent crunch, and then taking yours to do the same, before tossing them in a pile with the others. “I quit.”
The joy it made you feel probably widened your eyes a bit, but you tried to contain any visual tells as best you could. “It’s probably for the best.”
Inside, the phone started ringing. Robin had to turn the music down to make sure it wasn’t her mind playing tricks on her. Normally, they’d just let it ring, but with Oliver at Wayne’s, Steve ran inside to pick it up.
“So,” Eddie took a deep breath and took hold of your forearm, working along with finger stokes you might use on a guitar. “Have you ever been on a motorcycle before?”
You were hanging on his every word, but just then Steve leaned out from the screen door. “Eddie! Phone for you.”
Eddie made a face. “Is it Wayne?”
Steve shook his head. “I have no idea who it is, man. She just said it was urgent.”
She.
“I’ll be right back, okay?” Eddie gave your arm one final squeeze. “Don’t disappear on me.”
You watched him go into the house, and then you turned to look at Katie who was taking another shot with Robin and another guest, and you realized that you needed to keep your wits about you because you would be the one driving Katie’s car home, and it had been a while since you’d operated a stick shift.
There was an open window to the kitchen on the side of the house, and you made sure no one was looking before you made your way over there to creep up beneath it and see if you could eavesdrop on what the phone call was about.
“How did you get this number?” Eddie barked into the receiver after he picked it up and found out who it was. The person on the other end said a few things, and then he added. “Don’t ever call here again.”
Robin turned the music up and some of what he was saying was drowned out, but you kept getting bits and piece as you strained with your ear just below the window. “….you need to stop….stop acting like it was more than fucking….go spend time with your husband….”
But then he was in the middle of saying something else when he got cut off abruptly, as if the other person hung up. Eddie slammed the phone onto the cradle of the receiver with a curse and it made you jump. After only a couple seconds, the phone shrilled again, and he picked it up before the first ring could finish.
“WHAT DID I TELL YOU?” he growled through gritted teeth, frustration burning in his chest.
But then, his tone changed, “oh, hey, sorry Bones. I thought you were someone else. What’s up? Yeah, Steve’s here he’s busy….this is Eddie…..how much…..yeah I’ll be there….”
You heard the phone click back onto the receiver again, gentle this time, and you came around to find Robin and her friends belting out the lyrics to Jealousy by Gin Blossoms as it played on the stereo.
“Tomorrow we can drive around this town and let the cops chase us around...
the past is gone, but something might be found to take its place….”
What the fuck happened to this night? Eddie wondered to himself as he stood just inside the kitchen with his back to the door, clenching his fingers into white knuckled fists, trying to calm himself down. He had finally worked up the nerve to ask you on a proper date and every single ghost from his past had to come back to bite him in the ass. First Charlene, who was threatening to show up at his place, and now a favor for the Coffin Kings. Not a favor out of the goodness of his heart, of course, he would be getting paid a decent amount, but still---horrible timing. He snatched his leather jacket off the hook in the alcove near the back door and puffed his cheeks out on a heavy exhale loaded with emotional exhaustion.
“Bones just called,” Eddie told Steve as he jumped down from the porch stairs and started punching his arms into the sleeves of his leather. “They need some last minute extra protection for that run they’re doing tonight, and I told him I would.”
“Shit, I’ll go too,” Steve told him, putting his half empty beer down on his chair. “Are they paying the same as last time?”
Eddie was buttoning his cuff, but his eyes shifted to Robin form under the curtain of his bangs; she was standing behind Steve shaking her head. “It’s just me tonight, man. You stay here with your family.” Also, Steve was clearly inebriated, and these runs with the Coffin Kings always had the potential to be dangerous work. Eddie promised Robin a few months ago that he’d keep him from taking part in them as much as he could. Not only did Eddie need the money, but he needed to blow some steam off.
After the interlude with Steve, Eddie’s eyes roamed until they landed on you, standing there talking to Robin’s ex, Stephanie. You felt the heat-seeking missiles of his warm wood stare and turned your head.
You blinked both of your eyes in a double wink, an endearing, bashful wink, and ….god...he wanted to rush over and pick you up, to feel you wrap your arms and legs around him, to nuzzle his face in your neck and carry you off somewhere.
Eddie flipped his collar as he walked over to where you were, standing half in the darkness of the driveway and half in the glow of the tiki torches around the lawn.
“Walk with me?” He asked, and then he stretched his fingers down, crawling across your palm to intertwine them with yours, watching your face the whole time to make sure it was okay.
He had long strides, so you had to trot down the pavement after him on the balls of your feet, clinging to his arm as you went. You could hear the party continue on behind you as you sucked the crisp air into your lungs and took in the leather and Old Spice and tobacco vanilla of Eddie’s scent. You felt so safe with him, the safest you’d felt in a long time.
Nothing could worry you except all of his little secrets, and wherever he was sneaking off to this late at night.
He let go of your hand so he could swing his leg over and mount his bike, and then he pulled his helmet from the handlebars, his eyes never leaving you. “I’m sorry to bail like this,” he shifted on his feet so that that the huge black bike with the airbrushed bats on the gas tank rocked the other way, enabling him to boot the heavy kick stand out of the way. “I’ll have to make it up to you one of these days.”
“I’d like that,” you said, watching him strap his matte black, bare bones helmet on. You didn’t know what he was about to go do but something compelled you to say, “be careful,” just as he revved the chopper to life, spitting out its fierce grumble like a mechanical dragon.
He thought about kissing you. If something happened to him on this run and he met his fate living on the knifes edge, he didn’t want to go with any regrets. But he lost his nerve and the moment slipped away, and then he was twisting his fists on the handlebars and backing the bike up into the shadows of the unlit street.
He lifted his fingers to you in one last wave as he went, sailing into the darkness, and eventually becoming it.

Simon 'Ghost' Riley x Reader
Summary: Your boyfriend and you break up before a mission.
Somehow, you knew, you could see it in his eyes.
Somehow, you knew, you could see it in his eyes.
It was your biggest fear and it became true.
He no longer loved you.
You should have noticed the signs, you should have seen it all coming.
Now that you recall, his touches were extremely different, he barely kissed you or even talked with you.
He didn't love you anymore and it shattered you.
Instead of letting him ramble on with this 'it's not you, it's me' bullshit, you simply stood up and left.
You had a mission in a couple of days anyway.
Taskforce 141 knew that their precious little flower had issues.
From the moment they saw you, they knew something was off.
Thankfully, during the mission, you were able to take your mind off of your ex.
Barely even thinking, you moved on instinct.
Currently, you were with Ghost, waiting for backup before heading into another fight.
Your target was inside a mansion and you two needed some backup before heading in.
"I didn't want to mention this, but I can see it is bothering you. Something happened, Daisy?"
You looked up into his eyes, it was weird to see him trying to be so professional while still calling you by your code name.
"I broke up with my boyfriend. We didn't exactly talk about it but I could see in his eyes he didn't love me anymore. So... yeah."
"He is a dumbass. You deserve a real man."
His honesty made you turn and look at him. You could only smile as he refused to meet your eyes. He knew he overshared. He should have just said 'sorry' and moved on, but he fucked up.
"A real man sounds about right. You know anyone?" he didn't say a word only shook his head, no. "That's sad. I was hoping you were offering," you smirked. "But oh well... Maybe Johnny would be open..."
"No." his reply came way too quickly. There was a couple minutes of silence between the two of you.
"Backup in 10 LT." came Johnny's voice over the radio.
"Copy." Ghost replied.
"You told me many times to leave him because he is not good enough for me. And here I am... I guess I'm more disappointed in myself for trying to believe that it could be real." you said as you let out a sigh.
"You did nothing wrong. He is an idiot."
"A gone idiot." you finished before the chopper arrived. Giving Ghost a smile.
You weren't sure if you were only imagining things.
You swore you could see something in his eyes, something soft and caring.
---
The mission was finished. The information had been obtained.
And you were only the lovely new owner of a shot wound on your arm.
The wound was now all bandaged up and you were ready to head back for some rest.
Ghost closely followed you as you were heading to your room.
"Y/N..." his voice came from behind you as you smiled and turned to face him. You two spent a good amount of time looking at one another before he spoke up again, his voice low.
"Maybe, I am offering." this made your eyebrows shoot up in surprise.
"A-are you?" your previous confidence seem to have died down as he took a couple of steps closer to you, eyes never leaving yours.
"I am." he said as his thumb came up to your bottom lip.
You two just stared at one another he moved you into your room as he kicked the door closed.
Using the darkness in the room to his advantage, his face was bare as he placed his lips on yours.
You didn't need to be told twice, you pulled him to the bed without another question or without breaking the kiss.
---
You woke up the next morning to a dull pain in your lower region and a hand on your waist.
Suddenly the reality of the situation hit you like a cold shower.
You had sex with your Lieutenant.
And it was amazing.
You were sure the two of you went on for hours and many rounds. He was an amazing lover, a giver but he also knew how and what to take from you.
You lost count of how many orgasms he gave you but you can recall that he always made your legs shake.
You enjoyed the night.
It was a good distraction from your fucked up life.
But now, that it was morning, you knew, this will all come to an end.
You felt him slightly move behind you as his breath hit your neck.
"I can hear you thinking, Daisy." using your code-name possibly wasn't the best idea he ever had.
You felt distanced from him again.
"You are overthinking." he said again and you wanted to laugh but couldn't. "This doesn't have to be any more than a night if you don't want it to be. I am now offering something more."
"You are not a relationship kind of guy, Simon."
"I could be." his reply came so fast, he made you believe it.
"So what? A secret relationship where you could come to my room and always have to look behind you trying to see if someone was looking?"
"I wanted you for long enough. I feel like I would agree to any conditions." this made you turn and look at him, searching his eyes for a lie which you never found.
You were doomed.
---
And now, you were fucked.
With a dislocated shoulder, a huge gash on your leg, you could barely stand.
Thank God you were sitting.
Sitting and bleeding out.
You let out a long sigh before you hit the radio.
"Guys, I'm not in good shape. My shoulder is fucked, I am bleeding rapidly. I managed to hide in a shop down the street but I feel like they will find me any moment. I'm running low on amo and-"
"Where are you? I'll get you." Simon's voice came over the radio.
"In the perfume store at the back, hiding behind the counter." you replied.
"Stay there, I'm almost there. Gaz, get the chopper. Johnny, how's he mission?"
"Almost got the maps, LT."
"Meet us at the meeting point Johnny." You soon heard the radio get silent as the door to the store opened, you tried to peak. "Y/N?"
"Here." you replied as Simon arrived by your side with a first aid kit.
"What happened?"
"Turned out, I can take guys like you not only in bed." you smirked but Simon didn't find it so funny. "I dislocated my shoulder and he cut my leg." you said with a more serious tone as he grabbed your leg and put a bandage on it, stopping the bleeding.
"I can put your shoulder back." he said and you knew, this is going to hurt.
When he grabbed your arm, you prepared for the worst.
It was a terrible feeling, feeling your shoulder pop right back as you let out a groan.
"Good girl." he said and if you weren't in such a pain, you for sure would have made a dirty comment.
Soon, the chopper arrived and after having a showdown with a couple guys, you were on your way back to the base.
At that point, you lost consciousness. The blood loss caught up to you.
"Daisy?" Johnny asked and you let out a noise. "Just making sure you are all good." he replied. "You made Lt rather worried today." Soap smirked as you let out another groan. Simon looked at Johnny with an angry expression.
"Let her sleep." he said as Johnny put two of his hands up in defence.
"Sorry, Lt." Simon moved to sit next to you, holding your hand, checking your pulse. "I always had a feeling you would be a protective kind of boyfriend." you opened your eyes to that, looking at Johnny. "What? You thought your room is sound proof?! Also, it's so clear that you two are dating. I'm just said you didn't tell me."
"Or me!" replied Gaz with a huff.
"How did you know?" asked Ghost.
"As I said the room is not sound proof and as quiet as you two are, we could hear the noises still. And you are not that sneaky, Lt."
"A big guy like you was basically a beacon walking into her room." said Gaz.
Simon let out a groan.
"Captain also knows. He knew before us actually. I believe he knew even before you two. He always said you two make a good team and it was only a matter of time." Gaz explained and you let out a shaky breath, squeezing Simon's hand.
"I told you to be quiet." he turned to you as you snapped your eyes at him.
"Quiet?! QUIET?! How the fuck am I supposed to be quiet?"
"You have so many pillows, you should have used one!"
"Well, excuse me! Mr 'Let me hear ya Doll'!" Both Johnny and Kyle laughed. "Are you guys... really okay with this? With me and Simon?" you asked with a rather shaky breath.
"Of course! More than okay actually. I always said that Lt needed some lovin'. Captain asked us to see if it will affect the missions. And it did, but in a good way." Johnny nodded as soon you would arrive back to base.
"Thank you." you and Simon said in unison as you landed.
Nurses barged in to get you to the medbay as soon as possible.
Simon could only watch as you were taken away.
Johnny and Kyle both patted him on the back before leaving.
Price arrived soon after.
Simon was sitting in the medbay, waiting to be let in so he could see you. This is when the captain sat down next to him.
"You two could have told us."
"We were afraid we would be separated or discharged."
"I would never do that. Sure the others don't have to know, but as a team, we are responsible for each other." Simon nodded at Price.
"Thank you."
"There is nothing to thank. Let's have a drink once she is better." Just as John said that, a nurse came to inform that Simon could go in.
He sat down in the chair next to you, holding your hand.
You two really thought you were secretive enough.
But you were okay with the others knowing. At least in front of them, you didn't have to pretend anymore.
Simon leaned over to give you a kiss on the forehead.

Remember | Wanda Maximoff
Summary: After an accident leaves you without your memories, your wife makes it her mission to make you remember her
Pairing: Wanda Maximoff x Male Reader
Warnings: Angst, car accident, mentions of injuries
Word Count: 2.4K
Masterlist
A/N: This was a request from @Joewatt111 on Wattpad.  Enjoy!
Tumblr media
It had been six weeks since the accident.  You were out of the hospital by now, back at home with Wanda taking care of you.  Physically, you were okay.  A couple of bruised ribs and a black eye were the worst of your external injuries.  But mentally, you were in rough shape.  You’d developed post-traumatic amnesia from the concussion you sustained as your head smacked the steering wheel of the car.  You woke up in the hospital three days later, able to tell the nurse what year it was but unable to recognize your wife of three years.
Wanda was devastated.  She’d spent three whole days and nights by your side in the ICU.  She held your hand, told you how all of your friends had come to visit and how she had to stop Pietro from drawing a sharpie mustache on you as you lay unconscious, read you chapters out of the book you’d been reading, and told you how much she loved you.  She was thrilled when your eyes fluttered open for the first time.  But that all changed when you panicked at the sight of her, screaming for the nurse to get that strange woman away from your bedside.  The nurses sedated you while the neurologist brought Wanda into the hall.  He’d told her that these things happen and that it’d probably take a while, but there was a good chance you’d regain most of your memories.
“And if he doesn’t?” she asked.  He didn’t respond.
You were discharged 48 hours later.  A kind social worker had stopped by to make sure you understood that you’d be going home with your wife, Wanda, that she wasn’t going to hurt you, and that your memories would probably come back slowly over a period of time.  She also made sure that Wanda understood that this was going to be difficult for the two of you.  You might not come back the same person.
“I stood up in front of our family and friends in that synagogue and promised for better or worse that I would be there for him.  I will not break that promise,” she asserted as she twisted the wedding band on her finger.
But the social worker was right.  Getting you home was the easy part.  In the following days you weren’t yourself.  You were angry, snapping at her left and right, saying things you wouldn’t have normally said in your right mind.  It hurt her to hear you say such cruel things, but she refused to give up.  Soon enough she decided to take matters into her own hands.  You fell in love with her once.  She was going to make you fall in love with her all over again.
She started small, doing simple things she knew you liked.  She made your favorite foods, played your favorite radio station in the car, made the bed with your favorite sheets, hoping that something would trigger a memory.
You were sitting in the car one day, driving back from a doctor’s appointment, when you suddenly remembered…something.  You sat up a little straighter and looked around, almost like a haze had cleared from your view.
“I remember this song,” you said, straining to remember what exactly you remembered about it.  “This…this was…this is your song, right?”  You squeezed your eyes shut as fuzzy images passed through your mind.  “You sang it at a bar?  And there was someone else singing - Clint, right?”
You remembered the double date you two went on with Clint and Laura right after you announced your engagement.
“Yeah,” she nodded.  “We went to a karaoke bar.  Clint and I got very drunk and I dragged him up to sing with me.  You couldn’t stop laughing because we were so bad.  And you stayed up with me while I threw up all night and you sang that song to me.”  She sniffled and shook her head hoping that it would get rid of the tears forming in her eyes.  She reached up to wipe them away.  “Sorry,” she murmured.
You sat in silence for a while before you spoke again.  “I’m trying, Wanda.  I really am.  I want to remember everything but…” you trailed off, unable to look at her.
“I know,” she replied.  She kept a neutral face but inside her heart was breaking.
You sat in silence the rest of the drive home.  Every time you turned to say something to her she looked away.  The guilt was eating away at you.  It wasn’t your fault you couldn’t remember, but you felt awful for the way it had hurt her.  You were frustrated with yourself and you often took it out on her.  She didn’t deserve that, and you figured that’s not how you used to be.  Sighing, you looked out the front window as you slowly moved your hand from your lap to her hand that was resting on the shift stick.  You felt her hand jump slightly as you grasped it for the first time in weeks.  Neither of you looked at each other or said anything as you drove hand-in-hand the rest of the way home.
You didn’t speak Wanda for the rest of the day, opting to stay in the guest room you’d been sleeping in since your discharge.  You simply didn’t know what to say to her anymore.  You stayed quiet as she knocked on the door later that evening. “Dinner’s ready,” she said.  When you didn’t respond, you heard her turn and head back down the stairs.  What you didn’t hear was her sobbing as she sat at the bottom of the stairs.  For the first time since you’d come home she wished you hadn’t.  Maybe it would’ve been easier if you simply died.  That way she would know for certain that you wouldn’t be coming back.
It was nearing midnight when your grumbling stomach finally got the better of you.  You tiptoed out of your room and down the stairs, not wanting to wake Wanda.  The house was dark as you felt your way through the halls to the kitchen.  As you made yourself a sandwich in the dark, you looked up to notice a dim light coming from the living room.  You decided to investigate the mysterious light and grabbed your sandwich as you creeped down the hall.
Turning into the living room, you noticed that the TV was on.  The DVD player screensaver was bouncing from corner to corner.  The remote was sitting on the arm of the sofa.  As you reached down to grab it, you realized that Wanda was fast asleep on the couch.  She was curled up in the corner, a blanket covering her legs, as she hugged a leather-bound book in her arms.  For the first time in weeks she looked peaceful.  You knew that you shouldn’t go snooping, but your curiosity got the better of you.  Taking great care not to wake her, you gently removed the book from her grasp.  You sat on the opposite side of the couch.  She stretched her legs as you sat down which caused you to freeze momentarily.  In the dim light of the TV screen you opened the book: it was a scrapbook.
You leaned back on the sofa as you started to flip through the pages.  Each page was covered in pictures of you and Wanda, a small caption placed underneath each photograph.  They were forgotten memories of a person who no longer existed.  But they intrigued you.  You wanted to look at them.  It was like looking at them would cause all of your forgotten memories to return.  You didn’t think it would work but at that point you were willing to try anything to regain some semblance of your old life back.  So you sat there and studied each and every picture.
You didn’t remember most of the events.  Wanda and you all dressed up at the opening of the art exhibit she was curating.  You holding a sack lunch and giving a thumbs up on your first day of grad school.  Wanda digging her new garden.  The two of you at the beach, at a concert with her friends from work, on top of a mountain, sitting in inner tubes at the river, proudly showing off your medals after completing the New York Marathon…You felt sad as you looked at these moments that no longer meant anything.  But as you flipped through the pages, you paused as you came across a seemingly boring picture.  It was Wanda.  She was wearing a grey beanie and a dark blue raincoat as she sat on a grassy hill looking out over a large body of water.
Scotland.  You didn’t have to look at the caption to know what that was.
“Y/N?” You jumped as you heard Wanda’s sleepy voice interrupt your thoughts.  Her eyes fluttered open as she realized you were sitting on the couch.  “What are you doing?” she asked, rubbing her eyes.
“What is this?” you asked her as you raised the book up to show her.
“It’s a scrapbook I made.  For you.  I was hoping that it might help you remember something,” she answered.  She pushed herself up so that she was sitting.  “I don’t know, maybe it helps me to think that it might help you, maybe it’s just wishful thinking.”
“Scotland,” you said.
“What?”
“You always wanted to go to Scotland.  So I surprised you for your birthday by booking us a trip for two weeks.” You pointed at the picture of her in the book.  “I took this when you weren’t looking.  You told me you were going to sit there until you saw the Loch Ness Monster, but it started to rain and you didn’t want to get wet.”
“You remember?” Wanda gasped.
You nodded.  “I remember that.  I tried to remember everything else but I can’t.  I’m sorry.”  You looked down at the book, too ashamed to look her in the eye.
“Hey, look at me, Y/N” she coaxed, bringing her hands to your face.  She turned your head to look at her.  You didn’t have much of a choice.  “You remembered.”  She leaned in slightly, but hesitated.  You hadn’t kissed her in weeks and she didn’t want to push you.  “Sorry,” she apologized sheepishly as she pulled away.
You knew what she had wanted to do.  Truth be told you wished that she had done it.  You wanted to kiss her but you didn’t know how to tell her.  You hadn’t known if she even wanted to be intimate with you, especially after the way you’d treated her.  “Wanda,” you said.  She turned to look at you.  You could see the tears forming in the corners of her eyes.  You placed the opened book on the coffee table and crawled over to her side of the sofa.  She was pressed against the armrest as you brought your face directly in front of hers.  You could hear her breathing, how shaky it sounded in the silence of the night.  “Can I kiss you?” you whispered.
“Yes,” she breathed.
You pushed yourself to your knees on the couch as she stared at you, her eyes reflecting the glow of the screen.  Placing your hands on her face, you tentatively leaned in and shut your eyes as you pressed your lips against hers.  Her hands reached up to grab your wrists as she melted into your touch.  The kiss was soft and gentle.  You moved your lips against hers as she did the same.  A soft moan escaped her lips as you lightly nibbled her bottom lip.  You broke the kiss, pulling back to see her smiling up at you.’’
“I missed that,” you admitted, smiling down at her as you brushed a strand of her hair behind her hair.
“Me too.”  She was still holding on to your wrists.  “I’m not giving up on you, shefela.” “You used to call me that when we first started dating.”  Wanda nodded.  “I’m trying,” you whispered.  “I’m trying to fall in love with you again.  Because I want to.  I want more books full of pictures of new memories, memories that I remember.  And I’m sorry that I’ve hurt you.  I don’t think I would’ve said those things before.”
“I forgive you,” Wanda said as she reached her hands up to grasp your head.  “And I’m not going anywhere.  I fell in love with you once, I’ll do it all over again.  Not everyone gets this chance, Y/N,” she sniffled.  You sat there for a moment as she held you.
“What were you watching?” you asked, motioning your head to the TV.
Wanda smiled.  “Do you wanna watch?”
“Sure.”
She grabbed the remote from the arm of the sofa and hit play.  The screen flickered to life as your face appeared on the screen.  You were standing on the side of a river, skipping rocks and looking over at the camera after each throw and yelling to Wanda behind the camera.
“It’s the video we made of our honeymoon,” she explained.
“Maine.  We went to Bar Harbor.”  The words slipped out of your mouth as visions of the salty coast crashed through your mind.
“Mmhmm.  One week.  We made this video and said we would watch it for our fiftieth anniversary, but I hoped that it’d help you remember.”
You were watching yourself set up your camera to take a picture of the two of you, but you couldn’t stop giggling long enough to get a good one.  You smiled as you watched yourself grab Wanda from behind and lift her in the air while she screamed at you to put her down.  As you continued watching, you started to lower yourself down to rest your head in Wanda’s lap.  She kicked the blanket off her legs and pulled it up over the two of you.  The movie played on and you sat there cuddling for the first time in forever as she ran her fingers through your hair.  You didn’t remember much more as you watched that evening, but something told the two of you that things were going to turn out alright in the end.

Yesterday is Valentine’s Day ! well, i meant to post it On the day but I passed out before I finished proof Reading-
Anyways, well what does a single person do with his free time on that day ? Write fanfic of course!
Here is some RadioApple !!
Valentine's Day Surprise !
Today was Valentines Day and All around the hotel People gave gifts to their lovers, or to their Crushes.
Husker had Finally confessed to Angel and it was a nice sight. Almost everyone had gotten a gift with the intent of Romantic Love, and Boy was lucifer depressed. Of course Charlie had given a Gift but that was different. He had hoped for somone else to give one.
A couple days prior he had Asked the Radio Demon his thoughts on Valentines Day, for Lucifer, he Personally wasnt fond of it since Lilith had Left him. He also remembered the Day Cupid Was created for the Holiday. But now he was curious, what did his crush Think about the Holiday?
“ Its Scandilous. “
“ Im sorry what? “ he blurted out. Alastor Looked At lucifer With an Odd Expression,
“ The only Reason I Dont dissapear On this day to get away from all this lovey Dovey Nonesense, Is that Rosie Gives me The hottest gossip she has, for mostly break up, “ he suddenly appeared sadistic as if thinking about Previous Valentines.
“ Oh! Oh, Right, Yes, “ Lucifer luaghed nervously, “ I mean, I dont either phht- i mean i Was There when they made Valentines Day and My first thought was; ‘ Hey, now thats STUPID ‘ “ He luaghed more awkwardly, and then turned feeling severely disappointed. Alastor Raised an Eyebrow.
Cbsck to present day, he was waving away Charlie And Vaggie, they were going to a fancy restaurant and Lucifer volunteered to Watch over the Hotel
“ Are you Reallyyyy Sure that you dont want to hand over the Responsibitly over to Al? Dont you think you should have fun too? “ She said with Sad eyes, Lucifer shook his head.
“ Nope! Bitch you know i prefer Ruling Hell than get a date for this holiday, HA! “ He said very awkwardly. Charlie nodded, after a brief connection of eyes with Vaggie she turned to leave with His Duaghter. He sighed,
“ they grow up so fast, “ He went back in. He looked around, the hotel was closed for guests today so that leaves only Nifty and he to be present. he Assumed that Alastor was with The cannibal Overlord due to his comment a couple days ago.
Today it was the most quietest hes heard the Hotel,
it felt like Being in the royal Castel again… All alone. Lucifer groans, he leaned against a wall and put his face on his Hands. He never realized how sofficating Silence was.
After he moved into the hotel to Help his daughter he was too busy to feel Depression, but now, with nothing to do and no one to talk to, he could feel it settling in like a dark cloud.
He was alone, Again, on Valentines day,
it reminded him about how much more Lilth is happier without him..
He heard a squeak,  “ Ultamte Bad Boy! Come here!!  “ Nifty giggled, he put his hands down. She was very jittery Her bouncing,
“ What is it Nifty? “ He said softly, she ran up to him and Grabbed his hand,
“ Come on ! i have to take you somewhere! “ she said excitedly.
“ Wha- Where?! “ He stammered, for someone as tiny as Her she was surprisingly Strong. she pulled him up to the elevator to go to the very top. She didnt say much during the ride but she persistently keep his hand in hers and she was muttering words he could not understand.
The Elevator Opened and she started pulling him to the left. She stopped at the door that led to the patio.
“ Go, Go, go! “ She said pushing him a little, then rushed away, luaghing.
“ Weirddd “ Lucifer Said to himself.
what on earth was that? He thought. Why would she want him to be here? Maybe to see a new collection of dead insects, or alive. he pulled out the bug spray he had in his pocket preparing for what would be behind the doors.
He pushed it open,
Lucifer dropped the can and his eyes widened. In front of him was a small table. Alastor, with a wide smile, was sitting on one of the seats. He got up,
Lucifer shut the door immediately and leaned against. He could hear his heart beating,
“ Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, “ He muttered repeatedly under his breath, Lucifer felt His Face heat up and His legs threatened to Give in. he did not expect this, he wished for something but he didnt think it would actually be answered.
He wasnt ready, all he was ready for is to go to his room and be alone with his depressing thoughts.
In front of him the shadow morphed and Alastor appeared,
“ Your Duaghter Acts much like you, “ He stated, titling his head. Lucifer was stunned, all he could do was smile slightly, He couldnt speak. The Radio Demon saw that and took advantage.
“ I must say I prepared this for you and it was quite rude for you to slam the Door on such a thing, “ He put his hands behind his back and waited for the others response.
Lucifer blinked, suddenly he was able to move. He cleared his throat,
“ um, yes sorry about that- “ he forced out. The silence was ackward as Alastor seemed to be thinking,
“ Well my dear I think we should start this over, “ He Held out his hand. “ May you join me for dinner, “ Lucifer stared at it,
the thoughts of being alone for valentines day for the 10th year in a row dawned on him.
He didnt want that again, he wanted to be happy, he didnt want to keep deppressing over someone that didnt like him.
He should be looking forward to the one who does.. And he was right in front of him.
A sudden burst of courage came to him, he gave his hand To alastor, which made him chuckle a little,
“ good, thank you, “ Lucifers heart skipped a beat.
He led him by the hand and pulled a seat back. as Lucifer sat down Alastor kept his hand on his, once he was settled, he leaned forward and kissed Lucifer’s hand.
“ My highness “ he spoke, “ oh my Me, he said ‘ My ‘ instead of you, MY HIGHNESS “ Lucifer screamed in his head like a teenage girl.
“ in front we have a fantastic meal of deer that I picked and killed myself, I hope it is to your liking, “ he said while opening the cloche to reveal a fantastical meal.
“ why thank you Alastor, “ Lucifer said hiding his blushing face, he wondered why he was doing this, he never thought Alastor thoughtful.
“ may I ask why you are doing this? I thought you didn’t like Valentine’s Day “ he blurted out, As Alastor served both of them he looked up,
“ well a couple days ago you asked me about Valentine’s Day and I couldn’t help but notice your expression when i responded. “ Lucifer looked guilty, “ so I asked my mo- Rosie what I should do and she cheerfully helped me exert this wonderful dinner. “ he gestured around. Lucifer smiled helplessly,
“ oh, t-thank you Alastor, I’ve never saw you as a type to be romantic, “ Alastor smiled more genuinely,
“ well anything for my dear highness, “ he kissed Lucifer’s hand again, giving him butterflies.
It was a splendid meal, and the night was a dinner he won’t ever forget, he has never felt this alive in years.
They chatted all dinner, they laughed and even Alastor told him how it was like on earth, and the good things about. It made Lucifer relieved, that did not only sprout evil on earth, but buetiful things aswell.
Once they finished, Alastor spoke,
“ well, I must say, I now understand why people celebrate this vile holiday, if you find the right one.. it’s quite enjoyable, “ He looked deeply into Lucifer’s eyes, whose widened.
“ Right.. one ? “ Alastor nodded. It was a confession, Lucifer felt like he was about to faint,
“ Yes! “ he exclaimed getting up, he cleared his throat, blushed embarrassingly. “ I mean, I also agree, and this was wonderful, thank you Alastor. Tonight’s has been wonderful “ The Radio Demon got up aswell, he held out his hand, and Lucifer took it.
“ We aren’t done yet. I think we also have a reservation in your quarters.
“ Wait what? “ he said curiously, as they walked towards his room Alastor turned and winked,
“ Oh. “ Lucifer got the hint, he blushed then giggled,
“ oh Alastor, this has been my favorite Valentine’s Day for the first time in Eons “ Alastors eyes sparkles
“ that’s saying something if you were here before the birth of earth, “ Alastor said, Lucifer kissed the side of his chin. The walked in Lucifer’s quarters and closed the door
A couple hours later they were both laying on Lucifer’s bed. Alastor stared at Lucifer as he slept, he immediately passed out after he put one Pj clothes. The short king face was passive, he was like a kitten when he slept, he was adorable.
Adorable?
He has only called people adorable to spite people, but now he knew it was a genuine thought. He has never felt this way before, not even when he was alive.
“ Dad, Dad? “ Charlie knocked on the door. Alastor opened it with a flick of a hand, he did not want her to disturb his highness.
“ Dad? I was just wondering how you were doing. Nifty was acting weird but she said that you went u- “ she stopped immediately when she saw Alastor holding her dad defensively.
“ oh. Um well, ha I didn’t mean to disturb you, sorry! “ she stammered scooting back,
“ say a word to anyone and I will make love to your father again. “ he said roughly, narrowing his eyes. Her face cringed,
“ I did not need to know you did, to begin with, “ she shut the door quietly. Alastor Rolled his eyes,
Alastor felt Lucifer cuddle deeper in his chest, he sighed peacefully. Alastor leaned to kiss his head, which Lucifer unconsciously leaned toward it. Alastor laid his head on top of the blonde-haired and went to sleep.
The End.
The Make Love thing was inspired by a post I saw [ I don't remember where tho ]

~°~
one and a half hours on road, and the ending of the everlasting queue of cars and headlights seemed out of sight. a traffic light suspended from the sky, like a descending black orb, and [y/n] tilted her head as she leaned forward to observe it. sighed, resting back as the lowness of her car's hood rendered her efforts futile, and instead, relied on the agonising snail-speed of the moving cars ahead.
"traffic's heavy today."
kylian responded with a quiet hum, tapping her thigh to the beat of the playing song, "yeah, bad day to go out but my mum's expecting you."
fear hovered just beneath her skin and kylian noticed the tremble of her hands. they gripped the steering wheel, as if to strangle it dead, sure that the grooves of the grips had indented into her palms. he gave a reassuring squeeze to her leg, then stretched forward to peck her cheek.
"you'll be alright, they'll love you."
her eyebrows remained crinkled, "are you sure?"
kylian gave an affirmative nod, "of course— honestly they'll love anybody who isn't me."
she knew his words were a tad bit hyperbolic, but it made her laugh anyways.
"really?"
"yeah. their dear kylian can be a handful sometimes."
[y/n] was quick to nod at that, "you're not wrong there."
in any other instance, kylian would find fault in her words and be haste to correct her, whining. yet, he watched how the knots of her fingers grew loose and how her shoulders untensed and settled with ease, and bit his tongue.
silence dallied in the car, save kylian's hums of every song that cried from the radio. the congestion had lightened and they both rolled forward a couple of feet per minute.
"quick warning though, ethan is most likely to drag you to play fifa with him. don't be scared to say no," kylian rolled his eyes after; she found their bond way too endearing and wholesome for her heart to take.
"says that he needs to add to his fifa kill count, and literally verses anybody he can," he proceeded. [y/n] would think he meant his irritation if she didn't peak the slight grin that ghosted his lips. he could never dislike the boy, of course.
"i see where he gets his competitiveness from," she joked, surging the car forward as the light turned green. the motorway is long left behind, and the distant city blended and smothered into the view before them.
"are you one of his kill counts?"
kylian kissed his teeth, and it triggered a hearty laugh from the girl beside him, "that's not even the point. i've demanded rematches and he still refuses to."
"babe, i think it's a sign that you should suck it up and accept that he's better than you at fifa."
"in your dreams," arms were crossed and he ignored her grin, looking out the window, "i'm forcing him to play today."
the gps ordered her to take a left, and she swiftly took the sharp corner, bustling streets dwindling behind them as they entered a quieter road.
"i will be supporting you— although i can't guarantee that i will for all of the games you play."
"so- what? you'll be rooting for ethan?" his words left his mouth as if they were bitter and salty on his tongue.
"mhm."
she only said that to rile up the man, finding humour in his disdain. in kylian's eyes, [y/n] was his, and only his, hype woman.
"traitor."
"love you too."
they fell into tranquil muteness as the sight of kylian's childhood house is unveiled by the skyscraping evergreen trees that seemed to be a habitual plant around this side of paris. it's not entirely big, but large enough that, from the outside, it was obvious that it situated two floors. gated and neatly groomed grass carpeted the front lawn, bright green and dotted with white. daisies, she predicted.
the car undulated to a halt, and [y/n] released a sigh.
"we're here... finally."
kylian shifted in his seat, facing his girlfriend, "yeah, we are." reached to scoop her hands in his, "and as i said, you have nothing to be scared about. i love you, hm? even if they don't like you, which i highly doubt will happen, it won't change a thing, okay?"
nodded and tilted forward to kiss her boyfriend. kylian's hand rested gently upon her cheek as he deepened it, lips tenderly harsh as he attempted to portray his words into action, too. a ping from his phone caused them to break contact, turning it on as he read the text from the notification bar.
mama ❤️ i see a car outside. stopping hogging the poor girl and come inside, it's too hot.
"who is it?" [y/n] asked.
kylian showed her the text and she softly chuckled as she read it, "you heard her. let's go."
they depart, not before kylian gave her hand a reassuring peck, and they amble to the front door.
kylian looked at her, finger at the ready to poke the doorbell, "ready?"
"i think so, yeah."
+_-
greeted with a warm, encompassing hug, [y/n] was pulled inside, her boyfriend complaining behind her as he was left behind.
"okay, forget your own son then," he gruntled, closing the door as the warm air from outside began to mesh with the cold one inside.
fayza, his mother, kissed her teeth. undeniably kylian's mother.
"as if i don't see you more than i want to."
an arm circled [y/n]'s waist, head tucking itself into her neck as lips muttered complaints into her skin. she patted his hand in faux sympathy.
they're escorted to the back garden, filled to them brim with kids no taller than her waist, and chattering adults. it was welcoming chaos, one that made her feel settled and content because everyone was happy, doing they're own thing as they gathered as one family.
and now, she was to be one of them.
broken out of her reverie, fayza's voice cut through the cacophony, and all heads turned toward their direction.
"everyone, meet [y/n], kylian's girlfriend. make her feel comfortable and at home for me," her face was illuminated with a smile.
a little voice, she presumed was of one of kylian's nieces, sounded from just beside them.
"she's very pretty!"
[y/n]'s heart swelled, and she untangled herself from her boyfriend's hold, crouching down in front of the infant, "thank you, love. what's your name?"
she reponded, full of eagerness, "marie!"
[y/n] chuckled, "you have a very pretty name, don't you?"
the toddler nodded, as she signalled for [y/n] to pick her up. arms wrapped around the small girl securely, she stood up, swirling the girl around as she giggled loudly, then began to ask her questions about her and kylian's relationship. her curiosity was overwhelmingly adorable and [y/n] could feel her face muscles ache at the undying smile.
kylian watched from the doorframe, eyes drenched in obvious adoration as his girlfriend began to go around, socialising with the rest of his family. his sister is quick to welcome her with a hug and a kiss to the cheek, ruffling the curls of her daughter in [y/n]'s arms. if he hadn't decided to grow old with the girl, he certainly did now, for the sight of his most beloveds intertwining with so little difficulty made him feel full with joy.
+_-
the little girl in her arms began to grow restless, and with the sweltering heat beating upon her skin, [y/n] unleashed the hyperactive kid, submerging back into the air conditioned space inside. she went to look for kylian, stopping at the door of the living room (overly spacious, but embossed with pictures and trophies, made it feel smaller and more homely than expected) as she noticed two boys frantically clicking button on a controller, tv glowing with running, animated people in a sea of green. decided to not disturb and leave kylian to (hopefully) reign victorious this time round.
[y/n] found herself exploring the corridors of the house, gazing into framed photos hung upon the walls. a family so deeply knitted that not one was left out, and she couldn't help the thought of her face one day being displayed with pride, maybe with kylian beside her, or maybe just her, as she alone was enough to be one of them.
she ventured into the kitchen absentmindedly, meeting fayza stirring into a steam pot, napkin draped over her shoulder.
pushed all her nerves aside as she saw an opportunity to bond with her mother-in-law, "is there anything i can help with, ma'am?"
she was quick to spin around, a smile blooming as she recognised her voice, "you want to help?" [y/n]'s gesture was thoroughly appreciated, but the question left fayza's throat apprehensively.
"yes," then a laugh, accompanied by a permanent smile, "kylian is playing fifa with ethan so i really have nothing to do."
the older woman grunted knowingly, shuffling through the kitchen as [y/n] shadowed her.
"that's all the do when he comes here," a freckled hand is waved, aloof, "don't mind them."
she slid a bowl of freshly washed vegetables, dappled with droplets of water, "dice these for me, dear."
[y/n] acquiesced promptly, and the kitchen swiftly subsided into a warm silence. she chopped them with such experienced velocity, and fayza showed her an approving smile, althought she was too focused to notice.
"you know what you're doing."
the girl turned to the woman next to her, grinning, "have to be, or kylian would be a lost cause."
the guffaw that followed was thick with expectance and genuine hilarity, "you're very funny, looking after that boy isn't an easy task."
"you can definitely tell me about it," she fell silent as she focused on cutting off the butt of the onion, "but i love him, and forever will."
fayza felt her skin buzz with exhilaration and couldn't fight the urge to hug the lady helping her.
"you're such a lovely girl, perfect for my kylian," broke the hug and scanned the face of the girl that had her son immeasurably in love, "stand by him, okay? people out there are harsh, and, yes, i know that he's a strong boy, but with you beside him, he'll be stronger."
[y/n] exhaled, leaning against the counter as fayza started to fry the vegetables that she had chopped, "i won't lie to you and say it's easy because it's not," a hand rubbed down her face, "i don't get why people are so... brutal. it's like the only focus on his negatives when they lose, but praise him when they win, and i see that it gets to him a lot."
fayza knew what they, as a family, holding the name mbappé, just like the one that etched the back of france's golden boy, were getting themselves into. a life no longer hidden, everything was out and vulnerable for everyone to see, and if each blink and breath wasn't scrutinized by 'fans' (as they liked to call themselves, but tend to act otherwise) then something wasn't right.
"that's just how the world is, dear. they're backstabbers, running wild with no inch of humanity left in them. but you have to remain sturdy, be it alone or with the support of other people. and for kylian's case, he has us."
us. [y/n]'s skin crawled with thrill.
"you're part of the family, now, [y/n]," fayza smiled, eyes lined with aged wrinkles, deepened with the peaks and troughs of the past, and still to, with what was yet to come, "one of us."
she smiled, heart clashing with her ribs, "thank you, fayza. it really means a lot."
she returned it, arms agape, "it's nothing, dear. now, come here!"
[y/n] entered her arm, laughing loudly as her mother-in-law kissed her forehead, "and remember, if kylian ever does anything wrong, tell me, and i'll deal with him."
"i definitely will, ma'am."
she was given a disapproving look in return, "ma'am? please, call me fayza, or mum, which i prefer." winked and laughed.
however, their moment was cut short as shouts outside the door began to crescendo.
"—not only are you running away but your running to your girlfriend who i didn't even know was here!"
the kitchen is penetrated by the fury of two boys, of which their ages were miles apart but would think were near by how they acted, kylian's face contorted into a frown, "it would be a curse to introduce her to you, ethan."
the teenage boy gasped, kicking his brother, "take that back!"
"over my dead body!"
ethan scowled back, looking at her, before any trace of his negative expression seemed to disappear into thin air, "[y/n]! oh my days, you're prettier in real life!"
she grinned sheepishly, "thank you, ethan."
kylian, however, found no amusement in his words, hiding his girlfriend behind him, "oh please stop that crap. get yourself your own girlfriend!"
"and you just love hating! i bet your girlfriend is better than you at fifa."
"take. that. back."
"let's see it," he walked towards her, putting on the best puppy eyes he could muster, grabbing and tugging her arm, "please, [y/n]? play fifa with me?"
kylian glared at him, slapping his hand away.
"don't touch her!"
she turned to look at fayza, who nudged her head, "don't worry about it, go and take those hooligans with you."
+_-
10 minutes later, ethan was one goal down, with [y/n] on a aggregate score of 3.
"you're good at this— like good good. better than kylian."
to ethan's satisfaction, his older brother had been summoned by his mother to help her, saying he 'needed to use that football strength to good use'.
"how the hell did he even get a girlfriend like you? way too good for him, in my humblest opinion." she knew his question was far from ill-mannered, and didn't take it to heart. ethan tend to say whatever came to his mind at that moment.
"he definitely tried his hardest to ask me out," [y/n] stated, chuckling at the ever-vivid memory of his unrelenting advances.
"he's never one to give up, is he?"
she shook her head, "absolutely not. gave him my number for professional use only, and he saw the opportunity to flirt with me."
ethan visibly cringed at the fact, "that's embarassing."
"it was cute," she shrugged, "until it actually started to work and it all went downhill- or rather uphill- from there."
ethan's irises glimmered as he attempted a shot, but took in a sharp breath as he missed.
"all i can say is, he loves really hard. hasn't loved anyone as much as you, but from what i hear from him about you, he's deeply infatuated. i think it's scary, at this point," paused to regain his bearings as the ball was within [y/n]'s possession once again, "but, as much as i make fun of him, he's a good person. sometimes too good for his own sake."
he spoke truth. truth that hurt, because kylian's kindness was constantly taken for weakness, but he always, without fail, moved past it without another thought wasted.
"and he hides how much it affects him."
"exactly," ethan responded immediately, then laughed, "you know him just as much, or even more than me."
[y/n] grinned, "happens when you spend everyday with the boy. he's more readable than he thinks."
"or maybe you adore him so much that you just... care."
silence, then, "or maybe that."
it was only the noise of intense clicking and frustrated sighs that filled the room for a few minutes. it was a relaxed quietude, one that none saw the need to disrupt, but ethan wanted to express how grateful he was for [y/n]'s presence in his brother's life. it was comforting to know that he had someone, that wasn't a platonic friend, to confide in and find solitude in.
"you two were definitely meant to be."
"you think?"
"yeah," he looked at her, taking a hand off of the controller to punch her lightly in her arm, "i see you becoming [y/n] mbappé, one day."
"really?" her voice was incredulous, "you see me being one of you lot?"
"come on [y/n]," ethan rolled his eyes affectionately, "you're already one of us."

𝐅𝐄𝐄𝐃𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊, 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒, 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐁𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐒 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃!
Finals sucked. Balancing studying and your social life sucked. Balancing studying, your social life, and your relationship sucked. This was the third week you’ve had to drive Jake away and you hated it. In the beginning he was understanding, giving you a kiss to your forehead when you asked him to leave. Or dropping by the apartment with some take out because he knew you weren’t taking care of yourself. He’d even send the occasional Don’t forget to hydrate! text, to which he would get nothing more than a thumbs up in response.
He got it, really he did. He understood how much your studies meant to you. You made it very clear at the beginning of your relationship that you weren’t going to drop everything for him. And he respected that. Hell, he admired you for it. He definitely didn’t have the guts to do it.  But it’s been three weeks of him trying to chase you down. Three weeks of quick hugs in passing and good night and good morning texts. Jake missed you. He missed you so fucking much and it seemed like you’ve barely given him a second thought.
Jake knew he was being irrational. Of course you missed him. You wouldn’t have promised him to go out to lunch today if you didn’t. Yet here he was sitting alone at your favorite diner, reaching the top of the hour, and you still hadn’t shown up. His leg is bouncing up and down impatiently and the apples of his cheeks are red in embarrassment. An older couple a few booths away eye him with pitiful looks and not so silently whisper to each other, Poor boy got stood up.
He checks his phone for the fifth time in the last three minutes to find no texts or calls from you. Jake desperately tries again, clicking on your contact and sending a distressed Where are you??? He barely waits another minute until he’s calling you once more.
“Hey, this is Ace, sorry I missed your call. Please leave a message–Jake, stop tickling me! Leave a message and I’ll get back to you soon.”
“Unless you're a guy. In that case lose this number! She’s taken!”
“Jake!”
He sighs longingly at the sound of the dial tone, remembering the day you two recorded that message. Jake hadn’t seen you in so long. You felt like a lifetime ago. He missed his girl so much that his chest hurt. He’s frustrated beyond comprehension. Before he can even take a second to think about what he’s doing, he slams a wad of dollar bills onto the table, storms out of the diner, and hops into his truck like a man on a mission.
Jake reaches your apartment in record time. Looking back on it now, he probably should’ve just called Nat, Bob, or Mickey. They would know where you were. Though in his defense, he took your radio silence as a sign that something was wrong. Maybe you were hurt or in trouble and couldn’t reach your phone. In this day and age, anything seemed possible. Could you blame him for being paranoid?
Hastily making his way to the second floor, he barely blinks an eye until he makes it to the front of your apartment door. The faded gold 86 number plaque is staring him straight in the face and he can barely remember the last time he saw it. Out of respect for you, in case he really was overthinking things, he knocks on the door once. Twice. Three times.
When he still doesn’t get a response, his heart begins to race, breathing heavy. He fumbles with his keys, fingers trembling as he tries to find the bright pink Hello Kitty replica key to your apartment. So it’s easy to find in emergencies, you had reasoned with him. He thought you were teasing him in the moment, but right now he has never been more thankful for your sharp thinking.
He jams the key into the knob, turning it counterclockwise a little too strongly, and bursts through the door by his shoulders.
“Ace?” He hollers into the quiet apartment.
Jake looks around for any signs that you were there, only to be met with a spick and span living room and kitchen. Curse your stress cleaning intuition. He practically runs down the hall to your room. He sees nothing but your door and the yellow light illuminating from beneath.
He’s barely thinking as he barrels into your room. He all but falls to the floor as you bolt up from your desk chair at the sight of him.
“Jake?” You exclaim, rushing over to where he has fallen onto your floor.
You grab him by the elbows, gently pulling him up. He groans into your touch, just now realizing how much he missed the feeling of your skin on his. Jake has to bite his tongue to stop the moan that wants to leave his lips.
“Jesus, Ace, you scared me,” he breathes, steadying himself in your hold. Standing back up on his feet, he releases his hold on your arms and brings them up to your face. “You okay?”
You nod as he continues to look you up and down with concern shining in his eyes. It makes you laugh lightly when he squishes your cheeks just a little more. “I’m fine, are you okay? I think I almost gave you a heart attack…”
Jake opens his mouth to speak when a slightly staticy sounding voice cuts him off.
“Hey, Ace? I think I’ll just call you later, yeah?”
Jake’s heart drops to his stomach at the sound, and not in the way it did when you kissed him for the first time. This feeling was something less comforting and much more painful. It made him want to throw up on your linoleum floor.
“Yeah, yeah Connor, I’ll call you back later,” you say, rushing back to your desk where your phone was lying face up on an open FaceTime call. You don’t even wait for him to say goodbye as you end the call.
A burning heat crawls its way up Jake’s features. He’s sure his cheeks are probably inflamed in dark red. Who the hell was Connor and how the hell did you have time for him and not for your own boyfriend?
“Jake?” You call out, breaking him from the fury that begins to build up in his chest.
He doesn’t want to be that guy. He will not be that guy. He trusts you and he knows you would never do that to him. That still doesn’t stop the hurt that floods his senses.
His mouth is open before he can even process the rest. “Do you know what today is?”
You look at him with wide eyes and your lips quirked downward. “Saturday?”
He hums. “Yeah, the Saturday we were supposed to have lunch at–” He pauses, giving you the benefit of the doubt. Hoping that you hadn’t forgotten and were just running late. But you don’t jump in and that makes his heart hurt even more. You just continue to look at him questioningly in a way that he would’ve found adorable in any other circumstance. “Rosie’s,” He finishes for you. “We were supposed to have lunch at Rosie’s.”
“Rosie’s, shit!” You come rushing back towards him, grabbing his hands. You caress the back of his hands with your thumbs and you can only hope that he could feel how sorry you are; how horrible you feel for forgetting about your date. “I’m so, so sorry, Jake. I just caught up with…”
“Connor,” he deadpans. “Yeah, I know.”
He doesn’t meet your eye, and you pout at his clear irritation. “I promise I’ll make it up to you. I can do next Saturday? We could do Rosie’s then walk down the coast by The Hard Deck.”
Jake doesn’t mean to, but he scoffs–much too harshly for your taste. “Oh, I don’t know, I’m afraid my girlfriend won’t be available again. Or worse, she might even forget.”
You drop his hands, stepping back with obvious hurt in your eyes. “I’m sorry, what else do you want me to say?”
“I don’t know. Maybe that you’ll try harder to make some time for me? I haven’t heard from you in days! Hell, I haven’t seen you in weeks! Yet, somehow, you have the time of day to call this Connor dude, on the day we’re supposed to see each other!”
You’re pacing the floor with your own anger bubbling up inside you. You clench your fist before pointing at him with your other hand. “It is not my fault that finals are right around the corner! I have been studying my ass off night and day. Which you obviously wouldn’t understand.” You take a deep breath. “As for Connor, we were just studying together! Something that I can’t do with you!”
“Cheap hit, Ace.” It was a known fact that he wasn’t the best at academics, but you knew better than anyone how hard he was trying, making your words hurt more than he cared to admit. Jake exhales deeply from his mouth, attempting to calm his beating heart so he doesn’t say something he doesn’t mean. “Finals aren’t until another week! All I’m asking for is a day. Just one day.”
“It’s not just finals, Jake,” you groan. “Not to me, you know that.” The two of you have been going in circles for the last fifteen minutes. You get where Jake is coming from, really you do. But you also need him to understand you. He knew going into this how important your studies were to you. One day could jeopardize your entire study schedule.
“I know. But is it so bad for me to want to spend some time with my girlfriend? I mean, we haven’t gone on a proper date in months. Hell, I can’t even remember the last time we had an actual conversation!”
You turn to him with narrowed eyes, furiously shutting your physics book. “So now I’m the bad guy? It’s my fault that we can’t hang out?”
“That’s not what I’m saying!” Jake frustratingly runs his hands through his already messy blond hair. He doesn’t know what to do with the overwhelming flood of emotions passing over him.
You’re sat on the edge of your bed now, too worked up from all your pacing. “You know, I just don’t get you, Seresin. I’ve asked if you wanted to sit in with me. You’ve denied me every time.”
The sound of his last name falling from your lips feels like salt in an open wound. He hasn’t heard you call him that in ages. He knows he’s in deep shit now, but his pride won’t let him admit it. “Sweetheart, it’s not my fault that I don’t find Plato and standard deviation appealing, ” he sasses.
“So, what? You’d rather I go out and party all night because, ‘Hey! It’s just finals!’” You throw your hands up in anguish as you deepen your voice in a clearly mocking tone of his voice.
Jake pinches the bridge of his nose. “Do you even hear yourself right now, Ace? You need to take a break! I’m trying to look out for you. It’s not healthy to be cooped up inside like this all day.”
“Well, I’m sorry I have other priorities that don’t involve you, Jake,” you sigh.
“And yet, you don’t have a problem making Connor one of them,” he sneers.
“He’s helping me study!”
“I offered to help you study, but instead you told me to sit back because you could do it yourself.” He swallows harshly, feeling the reality of your admission sink in.
If it hadn’t been for the tension between the two of you, you would’ve been able to bite your tongue and let the moment pass. However, you were so high strung at the moment that you let your temper get the best of you. “Well, it’s not my fault that I can’t just charm my professors and tutors into giving me a pass. Unlike some people, I have actually put in the work.” The moment the words leave your lips, you regret it. Jake’s shoulders fall and you see the way he visibly deflates and shrinks into himself. You desperately want to take it back, but you did not want to give him the satisfaction of knowing you felt guilty.
A moment of silence passes between you both. The only sound to be heard is the heavy breathing that escapes you both.
Amidst the silence, Jake stifles the tears that threaten to spill from his eyes by running a hand down his face. Of all the people to insult his intelligence, you were the last person he ever expected to do so. Not once, even before you started dating, had you said anything about how he struggled with school. Sure, you got frustrated with him, but you of all people knew how much work he put into his studies. Unlike everyone else, you were able to see him as something more than the dumb blond frat boy people joked that he was. When everyone else would claim to be teasing Jake about his studies, you were always the first to stand up for him. Saying, Jake Seresin is capable of more than you know!, making him feel validated and more confident in himself. Now, your words felt like a slap to the face and for the first time, he found himself questioning everything you’ve said about him.
He should’ve known the honeymoon phase wouldn’t last forever. Everything was going so well, he didn’t have any reason to think things would go downhill so fast. Of course, Jake was too overconfident about your infatuation with him. He shouldn’t have assumed that you were as in love with him as he was with you. That was his first mistake.
“You know what? I really thought you were different,” he says softly.
“Jake–” Take it back! The voice in your head shouts. Take it back, you idiot! But the apology, the words of affirmation, the reassurances–they all get stuck in the back of your throat like molasses.
“I guess I was wrong about you, Ace.”
You furiously shake your head. You didn’t mean it, you swear you didn’t mean it. In the heat of the moment, you let your emotions get the best of you. You knew it wasn’t an excuse, but you needed him to know that you would never mean what you said.
You thought the world of Jake Seresin. He is smart and he has so much potential. He was better than you at physics and knew all the parts to an F/A-18 Super Hornet. He could calculate distance, time, and speed, like it was nobody's business. He impressed you in so many ways and you were so proud of him and how much he has improved. Deep down, you knew he was right too. This wasn’t healthy. You should’ve tried harder to make time for him after everything he has done for you. But the shame of the hurt you’ve caused, the shame of what you did prevented you from saying it.
“You know what? You can have all the time you need with Connor because I’m done.”
You push yourself to a stand with teary eyes. “Done? Jake, what are you saying?” It was like a nightmare come true, hearing the words you’ve feared to hear since the moment you called it official. But it was probably inevitable, right? You always bring yourself to your own demise. You’re not sure what hurt you more–Jake’s words or the fact that you weren’t so surprised to hear him say it? It was almost like you were waiting for this day to come, knowing Jake Seresin was just too good to be true.
His heart is fighting against itself. One part of him is begging him to stay and work this out with you. The other is too hurt to even look at you right now. In the end, he ends up listening to the side of him he didn’t even think existed until now: the side that didn’t want him to be with you. “I don’t know. I think I need some time.”
You nod, agreeing with him wholeheartedly. “Yeah, yeah. Whatever you need, Jake.”
He sighs before turning on his heel and grabbing the door knob.
“Wait,” your voice cracks. “I love you.”
Jake swings the door open and leaves. It takes everything in him to not turn around and gather you up in his arms right then and there. For the first time, he doesn’t say it back.
__________
You don’t see him for a week after that. You’re so distraught that you throw your entire study schedule out the window. This was all your fault. You know it is, there was no denying it. All Jake wanted was to be with you and you couldn’t give him that. You were so obsessed with the fact that everyone expected you to get perfect grades each semester, that you didn’t even notice you driving away one of the most important people in your life who didn’t care about any of that. That loved you with or without the academic achievements. The only person who cared more about your wellbeing than your stupid grade point average.
The truth is, you were scared. Things with Jake have been going so good that the fear of something bursting into your little bubble and setting it all aflame only continued to intensify.
Because you don’t deserve good things unless you earn it, your mother had warned. Because you can’t be loved unless you’re perfect, your father berated you.
And you are far from perfect, you know that. You also knew that Jake wasn’t your parents. But no matter how many times you told yourself your parents were wrong, their words continued to seep in every single time Jake reminded you that love shouldn’t be conditional.
So you did what you did best, you studied. You strived for perfection. You hoped that Jake could see that you were worth sticking around for.
He left and in the end, it just confirmed that nothing you do could guarantee anyone to stay.
You ended up failing your finals. They don’t hurt your overall grade too much, only bringing them down one letter grade from your solid A’s.
You don’t tell anyone about the fight you had with Jake. You don’t want to burden them with anything else. Everyone was busy. Nat was happy with Javy and Bob and Mickey were busy planning their San Diego Comic Con trip. You hadn’t talked to Bradley and you assumed that Jake had already told him everything. You hadn’t even texted Reuben about joining him for trivia night at a nearby bar.
But you do text Jake. You don’t know if he’s read any of them or not, but you text him anyway. You told him that you failed. You told him that you weren’t planning on going home for the summer because you didn’t want to face your parents. You told him you missed him and that you hoped this isn’t the end. But most importantly, you told him that you loved him and that if you could take it all back you would.
You so desperately wanted to knock on his door and apologize for what you said. To continue apologizing until he knew it in his heart and soul that you didn’t mean a damn thing. You’d imagine how it would go. He would open the door and you would quite literally pour your heart out to him. Then you’d throw your arms around him and tell him you love him before kissing him senseless.
You imagine that he’d smile against your lips, an action that you loved so much. He’d pull away and tell you that he forgives you. He would hold you close and tell you that he still loves you.
However, you weren’t naive. He probably hated you now and you wouldn’t blame him if he actually did because you hate yourself too.
Heartbroken and intoxicated to the bone is how you find yourself after another unanswered text to Jake. You remember him telling you to let loose and take a break so that is exactly what you did.
The frat house is loud. You’re not sure what’s more surprising, the fact that you showed up to a frat party without telling any of your friends or that you’ve had more alcohol than the amount of water you’ve had in a day.
Everyone knew about Delta Chi’s rivalry with Alpha Sig, so you didn’t have to worry about running into anyone you knew here.
You had lost count of how many drinks you’ve had three cups ago and you’re a bit impressed with your own resilience considering how much you hate the smell of alcohol, let alone the taste of it. You find yourself wishing that Jake were here to see you taking a break. That way you could prove to him that you were capable of doing things for him too.
The Alpha Sig house is packed to the brim with people. Everyone’s faces are a blur as you stumble your way through the crowded rooms and hallways, following the smells of sweat and weed to take you where you want to go.
You end up making your way to the patio and meeting some Alpha Sigs and sorority girls who were planning on driving into the city to hang out at a bar instead. They shockingly invite you to tag along and your inebriated self happily accepts.
You find yourself forgetting all about Jake, grades, and your shitty parents. You were just a girl in college who stopped giving a fuck and decided to have some fun. As you continue to giggle with some of the girls in the backseat of a car you don’t even remember getting into, for a moment, you see yourself with Nat, Javy, Bradley, Mickey, Reuben, and Bob. You hear Bradley’s dad jokes and Natasha’s giggles. Mickey and Reuben’s obnoxious singing and Bob’s own laughter follows. Then you see the guy sitting beside you with his arm around you. It takes you a second to recognize that his eyes aren’t your favorite shade of green. Hell, they weren’t green at all.
Your world comes crashing down in an instant. You’re not with your friends and you’re not with Jake. You don’t even know where and who you are with. You just know that you want to go home, that you want to be with Jake.
Before you can even think about begging the person in the driver’s seat to stop the car, you hear a scream then suddenly, your vision goes dark.

9 ABY - Fall
Despite his intentions, you don’t talk every day. It’s just not feasible. And maybe nights pass when you’re already asleep when he calls, but if it happens, he doesn’t mention it. You think he’s still afraid to scare you.
What scares you is how much you wouldn’t mind, and even that isn’t so frightening these days. This is easy, far easier than having to be stuck in hyperspace while you learn how to know him again.
When you ask him to tell you the story of how the kid became more than a bounty, you can hear the smile in his agreement. Can hear how glad he is that you want to talk to him, that you want to know.
He tells you the whole thing, and another night, he tells you about the Purge.
You didn’t ask about that one, could never have. It’s an awful, agonizing story, and it leaves you raw. But it feels important that he shared it with you, allowed you to take on some of his pain, and bear witness to his sorrow.
Tumblr media
One night, after a few of radio silence, he calls to tell you he’s in a town on Tatooine. There’s a sick anger in his voice as he describes the man who was not a Mandalorian and the agreement they made.
“Should have just killed him and taken it,” you grumble.
“I think he might be a good man,” Din admits.
It’s high praise, you think, coming from him. He might be the only good man you’ve ever met.
He promises to call after, and you don’t worry, even when several days go by.
You don’t.
The way your body feels warm for the first time in days when he finally calls has nothing to do with it.
You roll your eyes at his story, of how Vanth almost ruined the whole thing by refusing the Tuskens’ drink, of how he blows off defeating a krayt dragon as something simple. It surely wouldn’t have been without him, from the sounds of it.
Later, when he tells you the full story, you take back all of the compliments you had given his strategy and competency. (But you forgive him. He wasn’t wrong, really. You weren’t ready to hear it then.)
Tumblr media
9 ABY - Winter
You tell him the things you held close before. The things you kept stitched up, that you thought would make you more of a person than an idea, if he knew them.
Some of them were the building blocks you knew would betray you—the day your parents died. The first time you sucked cock for food. Your first kill.
Stories you’d never shared and tried your best to forget.
Moreso, though, you try to share the little things. The things that you wouldn’t have had to share before when you lived your days side by side.
You bitch about bounties.
You gossip about your neighbor Moshi’s on-again-off-again relationship with the Rodian couple down the street (they’re on again right now—you know because you get a lot less sleep lately).
You tell him how you went to the market for new shoes and came back with a little gorg-shaped instrument that makes croaking sounds for the kid instead.
(“How loud is it?” he asks, with no small amount of apprehension. “Loud,” you tell him with a grin.)
Tumblr media
He sulks a little the next time he calls. He wanted to see you before moving on, but the next lead was time-sensitive and drawn out.
“That’s too bad,” you say, voice soft and low.
“Yeah? Why’s that?” He almost restrains the hope in his voice.
You’d laugh, but you’re honestly a little nervous. But it’s easier to say this than any of the other things haunting your mind during those sleepless nights. “Oh, I don’t know. Been thinking a lot about having your cock in my mouth again.”
There’s a strangled groan from the other side of the comm. “Cyar’ika,” he warns.
“You don’t want me to get on my knees for you?”
“I do, but I can’t talk about this right now.”
“You don’t have to talk,” you say. “You can just listen.”
In the end, he has to lock himself in the fresher. When he can’t help but cum, you think you might understand why he likes to have power over you.
He does promise to get you back for it, though. If it’s supposed to be a threat, it’s not a very effective one.
But Din being Din, he throws you off balance. “Don’t you dare touch yourself until I get there,” he says after. “If—if that’s still alright.”
A shudder runs through you. “Yes, sir,” you whisper. It aches in your throat on the way out, but you’re not afraid.
Tumblr media
He means to tease you next time. Instead, you know something’s wrong as soon as he calls.
He deflects. He’s not ready to think about it, about Bo-Katan Kryze and what she had said about his people. You let him change the subject without pushing it, but he knows you’re not happy about it.
And he knows that not knowing will be worse for you. That you’ll think he just doesn’t want to talk to you. That you’ll simply shut him back out.
So he tells you. He tells you how angry he is at them for their disrespect. “It’s got to do with why our people were so divided before,” he admits. “I can accept that they have different beliefs about what it means to be a Mandalorian. But—”
“But they didn’t have to be such bitches about it! She straight up said ‘cult’?”
He laughs. Your righteous indignance soothes his anger. “You going to fight her for me, sweetheart?”
“What, you don’t think I could take her?”
“Well, she’s got head-to-toe beskar.”
“But she takes the helmet off, so all ll I have to do is punch her in the face.”
He can’t help but laugh again, grinning foolishly in the empty hull of the Crest.
“You know, you’re being pretty rude to someone ready to fight a trained warrior for disrespecting you.”
“I’m not. I just—thank you.”
“You’ve lost it.” You roll your eyes when he just laughs again.
“I might have,” he admits when he’s settled down. It wasn’t really funny, after all. But the abrupt switch from betrayed fury to the overwhelming affection made him feel happier than he had in a long time.
“Hey,” he says, suddenly soft and serious.
“What?”
“I miss you.” It was the first time he had said anything of the sort on these calls. But the danger of setting off your alarms, of causing you to run, seemed so much less these days.
You’re quiet for a moment. You let the feeling sink in and breathe through it. It’s okay, you remind yourself, it’s not a dangerous thing. He’s not asking you to run away with him.
He’s not asking you for anything.
“Yeah, I miss you, too,” you say. You’re quiet, like it’s a secret, and you guess it kind of was. A secret you’ve spilled now, and can’t just wash away.
He doesn’t know what to say. He said it because he wanted you to hear it, not because he ever imagined you’d admit it, too.
But he doesn’t have to figure it out. You surprise him again, and ask, “How far is Corvus?”
“From Batuu? I’m not sure. I’ll look it up later.”
“No, I meant from you, like how long until you get there.”
“Sweetheart, I’m not going there first. I’m coming to you.”
“Are you sure? Don’t delay your mission just because I—”
“I’m not delaying it because you miss me. I’m delaying it because there’s time and I miss you. The nav was set before I called.”
Tumblr media
You meet him at the docking bay. Well, you time your dinner around his estimated arrival, but it’s basically the same thing. A compromise you made with yourself.
Rather than waiting there, feeling stupid in public, or waiting in your apartment, still feeling stupid but alone, you’d just get something to eat. Still, you can’t help but watch out for the Crest on the horizon. When you spot it, the nausea you’ve been fighting in the four days since he told you he was coming returns tenfold.
It doesn’t take him long to find you, sliding into the seat beside you. It’s all very smooth, the way he wraps an arm around your waist and presses his helmet briefly to your forehead.
You flush and try to focus on your tip yip and grains.
“You know,” he says, letting you go so you can eat. “If you want to fight people for disrespecting me, start with the di’kut trying to pass that stew off as Mandalorian. It’s a joke.”
You cover your mouth when you laugh so you don’t drop rice all over. “Oh, I know. I told him there was no way it was really Mandalorian. It was edible. My face didn’t even come close to melting off.”
He shakes his head, bumping his shoulder against yours. “It’s not my fault you can’t handle it.”
“Maybe you’re just a bad cook.”
“You never complained about anything else I made.”
“Well, yeah, almost anything’s better than ration packs.”
“It’s supposed to hurt,” he insists. “That’s what makes it tiingilar. It can’t be called tiingilar if it doesn’t make your sinuses burn.”
You grin up at him, eyes bright, before the look falls abruptly off your face, and you turn back to your food.
He’s not sure what he’s done.
But you take a minute, take a breath, and swallow down the terror. “Sorry, I got a little overwhelmed. It’s still weird, you know. To see you,” is what you finally say.
“It’s okay.”
From anyone else, you’d bristle at the platitude, but from Din… well, you know he means it. It really is just okay. You set down your spork. “He asleep?” You nod at the closed pram.
“Yeah, just fell asleep before we landed. Should be out for a while.”
Another grin creeps across your face, sly and pleased. “So, we’ve got a few hours?”
His fingers twitch into fists for a moment. “You, um. Are you done eating?”
You laugh, standing up and closing the lid of the takeout box. By the time he stands, you’re walking down the road. “You coming or what?”
He catches up with you easily, the pram trailing silently behind. “You first,” he promises, taking your free hand in his.
Tumblr media
After he parks the pram in the living room, he stops and studies you, head tilted. “We don’t have to,” he starts. “I didn’t—I want to spend time with you, it doesn’t—”
“Din,” your voice is soft as you approach him, winding your arms around his neck. “I don’t think you’ve been talking to me practically every night for months, all just to get your dick wet.”
“I don’t want to screw this up.”
You don’t know what to say, so you pull down on his neck until he leans forward. You press your forehead to his helmet.
His hands find your waist and hold tight. For a moment, you find peace in the solidity of him after only having his voice for so long.
His embrace feels like coming home.
Tumblr media
After several reassurances that yes, you did want this, he finally beckoned you to your bedroom without a sound. You found yourself knelt between his thighs at the end of the bed, moving on instinct with him and reading his intent in the line of his body.
“Open,” he says, voice soft but firm.
You obey. The command has you a little dizzy, and how is this so easy? So easy to slip right back into your place at his feet, so easy to just listen.
“Oh, cyar’ika,” he lifts your chin with two gloved fingers, “You want to be so good for me, don’t you?” He’s close enough like this that you can hear the way he croons, voice velvet beneath the crackle of the helmet.
You give a small nod, not wanting to knock his hand away. He rewards you by sliding it up to cup your cheek in his palm. You waver, but don’t melt completely, not yet.
“I know,” he says, running his thumb over your tongue. The glove is rough and metallic, and you whimper with the effort of keeping your jaw stretched open, aching to take whatever he’ll let you. He chuckles, shoving it further into your mouth.
“Go on then,” he says with a slight tip of his helmet. Immediately, you wrap your lips around his thumb, gently licking and sucking on the coarse tip, pushing it deeper so you can reach the leather at his knuckle.
“That’s it. You feel better already?”
You groan around your mouthful, eyes falling shut. He shifts his grip on your chin to the other hand in order to thrust the digit deeper, brushing against the roof of your mouth. It tickles in the worst way, and you attempt to choke down the cough by swallowing more of him. He pulls his thumb from your mouth.
Your heart sinks, but the whine that sneaks out is muffled by two long fingers, two long, bare fingers that are unceremoniously shoved down your throat. He curls them a little, pressing down on the back of your tongue, and lets out a soft groan when you fight the urge to gag by swallowing hard, the soft walls clenching around his fingers.
“There you go,” he whispers, bringing the other hand—now also bared—to hold the side of your face. Between the feeling of his skin against your cheek and the salty taste of his fingers on your tongue, you don’t even notice as you start to slip. Eyes fluttering shut. Drool leaking between his fingers from your stretched lips. He continues to murmur, but you hear little beyond the rumble of his voice.
He taps his hand lightly against your cheek, just firm enough to be on the sharp side. You blink, taking in the way he’s leaning back, head cocked to the side. He pulls the fingers out of your mouth and just sits there for a second.
Oh kriff. He asked you something. “Um,” and your voice creaks a little, “what?”
He shakes his head, neither cruel nor dismissive. “Cyar’ika,” the baritone is a notch lower, “I need you to stay with me for now.” His thumb rubs circles on your cheek. “I’ll help you down when we’re ready.”
“Okay,” you say, little more than a whisper.
“What do you say?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Good girl.” His cock throbs a little when a shudder runs through you at the praise.
He can’t wait any longer. He doesn’t think you can, either. You're staring at the line of his cock through his flightsuit.
Despite his urgency, he moves slowly, making sure you’re following his hands as they rub over his length through the fabric. He chokes back a moan and is rewarded for his silence by hearing yours.
Your mouth is still open. Waiting. Your hands are on your knees, fingernails digging in through your trousers.
He pulls his cock out, and you whimper, but don’t falter. “Look at you,” he murmurs, holding himself in one hand and your chin in the other.
He doesn’t make you wait longer, can’t. He holds you in place, groaning as he settles himself on your tongue.
You moan at the taste, and he takes the opportunity to grab your hair and thrust in. You gag but don’t tap out, instead pushing forward to take him deeper.
“Fuck,” he moans, already panting with the effort to hold back. He tries to hold still, to let you take what you need from him. He can feel the way you’re still trying to pay penance for a sin he doesn’t think you’ve committed. He doesn’t like it, but it’s less desperate than when you begged him to hurt you for it, so he lets you offer yourself this way. It’s safer, controlled.
And he can’t say he’s not enjoying being the focus of your worship.
You think fleetingly of him asking you to stay present, and grab at his hand while you drool around his cock. With his fingers in your grasp, you tug a little and whine, throat fluttering around him.
“Go ahead, ner kar’ta,” he says, clasping your hand in his and stroking the other through your hair. “I’ve got you.”
So when you start feeling like you’ll float away, you let it happen. Your mind quiets in the way only he has ever helped you achieve, and with his hands tethering you, you give yourself to him completely.
He fucks into your mouth roughly, now. You take everything he gives, and more, still licking and sucking when he allows. When he abruptly pulls out, you whine but don’t move, swaying a little where you kneel, eyes closed.
“Up, cyar’ika,” he says, and helps you climb onto the bed. You peer up at him as he arranges you how he wants, arms above your head with your hands clasped, knees bent and spread wide at the end of the mattress.
Tumblr media
He turns the light off.
“Oh, fuck,” you whisper.
The hiss of his helmet follows. Your window is closed, curtains drawn, and no light sneaks into the room. His hands find your thighs and squeeze, reassuring you of his closeness, and giving you warning as he sinks to his knees and licks from your cunt to your clit with no hesitation.
His hands slide down to hold you open, and it doesn’t take long before you’re begging. You had already been soaked from sucking his cock, anyway.
He pulls back minutely. “I don’t know, cyare, you weren’t very nice, teasing me the other night.”
“Please, sir, I’m sorry,” you cry.
His thumb flicks at your clit. “I’m just teasing you, pretty girl. Cum all you want tonight. I’ve got five years' worth to collect.”
And who the fuck just says things like that? But you don’t consider it long, because the second his tongue is back on you, you cum, crying his name.
It sounds just as irresistible as he imagined. He’s already starving, but it makes him ravenous.
He pulls two more orgasms from you before he stands up and sheathes his cock in your warm cunt, swearing as you bear down around him, pulling him in.
“Such a good girl,” he bends over you, your legs around his waist, and presses his lips to every inch of your skin that he can reach. His teeth catch on the line of your neck and the curve of your breast before capturing your bottom lip, pulling you open for him to push inside your mouth. He consumes without restraint, gorging himself on your moans and cries.
When he buries himself as deep as possible and cums, you join him, enveloping him in the heat of your release. He stays rooted inside you, looming over you, as you shake and start to cry.
Tumblr media
It’s wrong, though.
It doesn’t feel like the way you used to crack open under his fingers and let him carve out all your distress. It’s not a burst of catharsis or a moment of blossoming under the deluge.
“Cyar’ika,” he cups your cheek. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m sorry,” you plead between sobs that wrack your whole body. “I’m sorry. I thought I could do this, but I can’t.”
He carefully extracts himself and lays beside you, gathering you into his chest. “It’s okay. I understand,” he says, even though he thinks maybe something inside him isn’t going to survive this.
You don’t hold him back, arms folded into the space between you. But you do bury your face into him and sob until you can breathe again.
“Din,” you whimper. “I’m so sorry.”
“Can you tell me why?” he asks. He presses a kiss into your hair, though he knows he shouldn’t, not now.
You let out a shaky sigh that threatens to crack into a new round of cries. You shouldn’t let him; you should stop him, but the sobs get stuck in your throat and fade when he kisses you.
It gives you the nerve to speak. “I love you.”
He freezes, baffled. “What?”
“I love you, Din. I thought I could ignore everything and be happy with whatever you could give me, but I can’t do it again. I can’t.” You also can’t stop talking, now that you’re finally admitting it all to him and to yourself. “There’s no place for me in your life, and I just. I’m not doing that to myself. I can’t watch you leave again.”
“So come with me,” he whispers, both your hands clasped in his. It’s still flawlessly dark, but he has his sweaty forehead against yours, and you can feel the curve of his nose with your own. He steals a kiss. “Please, cyare.”
“My whole life is here,” you tell him again, but it feels like a lie with the way your lips chase his for more. Your apartment is here. Your possessions are here. But there wasn’t anything you couldn’t walk away from. That wasn’t really the issue.
“So keep it. Keep the apartment, the connections. We’ll come back after.”
“Din, I—” you try again. The words are scrambling to leave you, only restrained by the horrible anxiety of having to hear the truth spoken aloud.
“Tell me exactly what you’re afraid of, cyare. I can help. We’ve always been stronger together.”
“What happens after?”
“After what?”
“I don’t know. After. When you go home, and I can’t go with you. I can’t do the same thing again, Din; I’m not made for it. Not for what you’re asking me to give in between.” It wouldn’t—couldn’t be casual, this time. Not with the way his love for you has survived the last five years. And if you’re really honest, not with the way your love for him has survived, too.
It’s a petrifying thought. Except it isn’t quite. Not anymore. Maybe it’s why you’re confident in these boundaries, ready to admit you aren’t capable of the same untethered companionship. You’ve loved and lost him enough to know it has to be all or nothing.
And he can’t give you all. So it has to be nothing.
Tumblr media
His shaky breath floods across your lips. “What if you could go with me?”
You sit back a little, but don’t pull your hands from his. His thumb is tapping against your knuckle. “What do you mean?”
“I don’t want you to think I’m putting any pressure on you. I just want to—it’s just an option, okay?”
“What’s an option, Din? You’re making me nervous.”
He takes another deep breath with a slow exhale. “I think I’ve told you before, but being a Mandalorian is a Creed. A choice. There are no rules about who can or can’t swear it, as long as they’re committed.” He pauses, and when you don’t react, he adds, “and you can walk away at any time. It doesn’t have to be until death. You just can’t come back if you leave.”
You do let go of his hands, now. Not because you’re pulling away from him, but because what you think he’s trying to say is overwhelming. You bury your face in your palms and try to parse his words.
“I’m sorry, that’s—I shouldn’t ask that much of you.”
You put a finger up and remember that he can’t really see. “Shh, just give me a second, okay?”
You mull the concept around. It seems like such a monumental thought, an idea of incredible ridiculousness.
But really, what would change about your life? You would hunt. You would carry a small arsenal of weapons.
What would you lose? The ability to show your face?
It meant nothing in comparison to what you could gain.
“What if I went through everything, and then you decide you don’t want me?”
“That won’t happen.”
“Din. I’m serious.”
“So am I.”
“No, ugh,” you grind your teeth. “I need to know, realistically.”
“Realistically? Then when you kick my ass for it, you’ll be in full beskar, and it’ll be a fair fight.”
You can’t help but laugh, even if it's a weak, shaky thing stolen from your breath.
“Cyar’ika. I have no intention of being apart from you if I can help it. But I promise that if something were to happen, there would still be a place for you with the Mandalorians. We don’t abandon our own.”
It doesn’t quite compute. He knows that. Knows the way that even before your parents died, there was no one else. Everyone always willing to cut you open and take. But, if you do this, you’ll learn.
And he wants so badly to give that to you. A family. One way or another.
He takes advantage of your silence, rolling onto his back and pulling you against him, tucked into his arm, where you should be. He kisses your hair and rubs a hand over your back, nails gliding gently over your shoulder blades. Every touch you let him steal while you think over his proposition gives him hope.
You’re not running. Not yet.
Maybe not ever.
But you don’t answer him that night. Instead, you let yourself be lulled to sleep by his warm body and soothing motions. He takes it as a good sign when you drift off.
Tumblr media
The kid wakes first in the morning. It’s for the best, since he forgot to put his helmet back on when he fell asleep. Din regretfully slips out of bed, tucking you in. He helps himself to your kitchen and starts a pot of caf before working up a breakfast.
He’s frying eggs when he hears you up and moving around the bedroom. He keeps to his cooking, trying to temper his expectations by reminding himself that you very well may slip out the window.
But you don’t. You come out of the bedroom and sit on one of the metal stools tucked under your countertop.
“Good morning, cutie,” you say to the baby, who is sitting in your sink with the faucet running, filling a bowl, and dumping it out over and over. The drain is open, making sure no water accumulates, and he seems fascinated by the flow. He abandons it, however, when he sees you, cooing and reaching his hands out to you.
“I don’t know, buddy; let me grab a towel first.”
Din tosses you one from your drawer without breaking away from his task.
“Look at that,” you tell the baby. “Like magic.”
Din snorts under the helmet. If only you knew.
Actually, he thinks, he should probably tell you.
But later. When he’s not struggling to keep focus, pretending like his hands aren’t shaking, like he’s not waiting while you hold his heart in your palms and decide what to do with it.
While you dry the kid off and let him climb on your shoulders and head, he plates the meal, setting his own aside.
The kid lunges for the plate, but you catch him. “No way, it’s still hot. Be patient,” you tell him.
Din catches himself staring right as you do.
“What?” you say.
“Nothing,” he shakes his head and pries the kid off you, untangling his little claws from your sleep-addled braid so you can eat in peace.
Tumblr media
You thank him quietly when he sets the plate in front of you, and you start to eat, though you mostly just push the food around with your fork.
“Did you mean it?” you ask finally.
“Completely.” His voice is thick and heavy with hope.
“You want me to become a Mandalorian.”
It’s not a question, but he answers it anyway. “Yes. I want you to come home with me. I want to be by your side, always, if you’ll have me.”
You hum, falling back into thought, and eat your breakfast. When you’ve finished, you push the plate away and stand up. “I’m going to get dressed. Let me know when you’re done eating.”
He knocks on your door ten minutes later, having taken an extra few minutes to wash the dishes. When you open it, you’re in one of your go-to hunting outfits, and your pack is strapped to your back.
“Okay. Let’s go.”
“Are you sure?”
“Completely. Take me home, Din.”

Next Door Neighbor (Edward Teller x F!Reader)
Tumblr media
Main Master List || MISC Master List
Requested by @mariedork : I don't know if you're still writing for the fandom/taking requests, but I'd love to request something about Teller and fem. reader. maybe something like reader is helping Teller with research at Los Alamos (I know the real teller was married but oh well) you're both into each other but trying to be professional, maybe use the prompt "we're in public you know"
Summary: You and Teller often butt heads until one night the tensions tip over and feelings are revealed.
Author's Note: This is clearly based on Benny Safdie as Edward Teller from the movie. If you do not like, do not read. Also sorry if I butched the Hungarian. I do not speak it and I tried my best with the translator.
Warnings: Smut 18+, p in v, penile penetration, enemies to lovers, language, orgasm, female anatomy, male anatomy, slight misogynistic tone
Word Count: 4.2k
----------
The car ride is long and boring. Even the cheerful music from the radio couldn’t lift your spirits, not when you are being more or less shipped away to Los Alamos from your home in Berkeley. You suppose you should be grateful for the opportunity to work in close proximity to some of the greatest scientific minds of your time, but you would prefer it if you could stay in Berkeley and work under your doctoral advisor.
Seeming to sense your remaining frustration, Ernest Lawrence looks over to you, closing the folder in his hands and setting it in his lap. “You know, the more you frown, the more you’re going to get wrinkles,” he chuckles, poking your cheek causing you to frown even more.
“I still don’t know why you picked me over Lomanitz. Wouldn’t he be better at this?”
“Nah, I trust you more. Besides, you have better political ties than he does. You won’t be an issue.” He turns back to his dossier as you huff, looking out the window and watching as the brown landscape passes by.
After hours of driving, the car slowly comes to a stop, jostling you awake. Lawrence is the first to get out, moving towards his friend. Picking up your stuff, you manage to stumble out of the car, your legs miserably sore from the constant sitting.
“Physics side New Mexico, huh? My God, what a trek.” Lawrence smiles as he shakes Oppenheimer’s hand.
“That’s why you need a liaison,” Oppenheimer replies while Ernest tilts his head toward you.
“I’m appointing (Y/L/N).” Oppenheimer looks at you and smiles softly before gesturing to the driver to get your bags.
“You’re going to be okay.” You nod your head as Oppenheimer tilts his head. “Come now, we have much to discuss.” You and Lawrence follow Oppenheimer inside the building and you can’t deny how impressed you are at all of the different things going on inside. You watch in silence as Lawrence greets General Groves while Oppenheimer throws a couple of marbles into a glass bowl, causing the crowd to clap. Looking around the room, you note some familiar faces. Richard Feynman, who you’ve run into a couple of times. Of course Robert Serber, whom you’ve worked with and surprisingly Edward Teller, though you doubt he notices you. You remember bumping into him on a day that he was visiting Berkeley and then him immediately (and assumingly) exclaiming curse words in Hungarian before noticing you and shutting up. Gulping, you set down your jacket on a chair and hang in the back, out of site and out of mind.
“Well, here’s where you’ll be staying. I know it’s not much, but it does the job. Don’t mind your neighbor. We’ve gotten several complaints about him playing the piano late at night, so if it does disrupt your sleep, just let us know, we’ll figure something out,” the usher comments as you look around the bland room turning back to look at Lawrence in annoyance and even the ever so optimistic Lawrence looks like he shares some of your pity. The usher quickly leaves you and Lawrence alone.
“You owe me Ernest.”
“I promise. But you’re going to be fine. You have Oppie. He’ll help you!” Lawrence pats you on the back with a smile before looking around the barren room. “I think you can definitely spruce it up.” His comment isn’t appreciated and he can tell. Frowning, he slowly backs out of the room. “Well, do good. Don’t mess up and don’t make me look bad. Good luck.” He darts out of the room before you have the chance to say anything else. Dropping your bags, you let out a huff of annoyment.
“Just be thankful. Just be thankful.”
—-------
The days go by faster than you initially thought. Work is hard, sure, but working with several of the smartest minds helps the work go by quickly. The nights, on the other hand, are a completely different story. Since the night you got there, you’ve been tossing and turning in your bed, slowly drifting to sleep only to be woken by the slamming of a piano. Each night this happens, and each night you only get a few hours of sleep.
The piano slams again, causing you to let out a loud sigh of discontent. Throwing back your blanket, you swing your legs out of the bed and put on your robe, intending to give your neighbor a piece of your mind.
Walking out into the cold desert night, you stomp over to the house and knock sharply against the door, hearing the piano stop and chair scraping against wood, you tap your foot against the patio and wait for your neighbor to answer the door. What you don’t expect, however, is to see Edward Teller on the other side; and based on his reaction, he wasn’t expecting to see you too.
“What do you want?”
“I want to sleep, but your piano playing is preventing me from getting any,” you comment, your arms wrapped around your body as he raises an eyebrow in amusement.
“And that’s bothering you? Tünj el!” You can tell that he is annoyed by your comment, but you frankly don’t care.
“No. It’s the slamming the keyboard that is annoying me. It’s not hard playing Bartók.” You can see his eyes widen at the mention of the composer, almost as if asking ‘you actually know him?’. “And for the record. I do know him.” Teller stiffens, looking more intimidating by the second.
“Alright, if you know so much about Bartók, why don’t you play.” His Hungarian accent is thicker than it was a few seconds ago. Not being one to back down from a challenge, you brush past him into his house and sit down at the piano, aware of the holes that Teller was drilling into your head. Reading the sheet music, you let out a little scoff as you turn back to him.
“What about this is confusing you?” Silence. “Well?”
“Just play.” Shrugging your shoulders, you turn back to the piano and place your hands on the keys. As if it was instinctual, your fingers dance across the ivory keys, playing note for note Allegro Barbaro while Teller watches on in amazement, though he will never admit that. Finishing the piece, you sit at the piano for a few seconds before turning around to face the physicist.
“Satisfied?”
“Are you like this with your studies?”
“Naturally.”
“No wonder why they call you Lawrence’s protégé.” The comment causes you to blush. Of course you and Lawrence work closely together, and you guess you could say you’re one of his best students, but that doesn’t mean you’re a protégé. Nodding your head, you quickly stand up and fix your robe.
“Right. Well. Now that you know how to play it, please don’t slam the keyboard. It wears the piano down.” Teller furrows his brows and tilts his head, taking a step closer to you. Maybe it’s lack of sleep, or maybe it’s loneliness, but you feel a pull towards him and you don’t know what to make of it. He takes another step closer until you can feel his breath on your face and it causes your heart to race. “Well, I- I should probably get going,” you stutter out, dipping away from his body and rushing out the door, unaware of the way his eyes follow.
—-------
After finally being able to get some sleep, you wake up in the morning refreshed. By the time you get to your lab it is already bustling with personnel. If you thought that the Rad Lab in Berkeley was always busy, it really doesn’t compare to this.
“Ah, there you are,” you jump in surprise and turn around to Oppenheimer, hands clasped behind his back. “Lawrence called last night and asked me to pass along these measurements,” he hands you a piece of paper with writing on it. Clutching it in your hands, you nod in thanks, turning to leave but his hand reaches for your wrist. “Wait.”
“Yes Dr. Oppenheimer?” He lets go of your wrist and leans back on his heels, rocking back and forth.
“How are you finding it here? I haven’t seen much of you around and Lawrence asked me to keep an eye out for you.” Smiling softly, you turn your body towards the physicist.
“It’s alright. Nothing like Berkeley. I have finally been able to get some sleep.”
Nodding his head in response, he lights a cigarette and huffs it a couple of times before offering it to you, which you decline. “Good, well, keep up the good work.” He doesn’t say much else before skirting away. Shrugging your shoulders, you look down at the piece of paper, trying to make out what Oppie wrote before getting to work.
—-------
The sun has well past set in the sky by the time you gather your things. You suppose one of the good things about working here is that you can make your own hours versus the 22 hour days Lawrence would occasionally have you pulling. Shutting off the lights, you walk down the hall, noting that most of the staff has left by now, except for a room emitting a soft glow.
Peering your head into the room, you see Teller standing at a board, chalk scribbles scattered across and his suspenders down with his shirt untucked. Assuming the lack of assembly in his dress, he’s probably not having much luck with his work. Setting your coat and bag on a chair, you walk over to him and the board, getting a much better view of the problem.
Hearing your footsteps, Teller quickly turns around and lets out a stream of curse words at your presence. “Nice to see you too,” you quickly fire back, stopping at his side and crossing your arms, eyes gazing on the board.
“Now what do you want?” You can tell that he is annoyed, but you frankly don’t care.
“I was planning on going home but I saw the light in here was on so I was wondering who is doing what. So, what are you doing?”
“I’m trying to find another component to make this more powerful than Oppenheimer’s bomb,” you don’t know if it’s frustration or tiredness, but his accent seems to get heavier the more you hear him talk.
“What have you got so far?” He looks over at you and scoffs, turning back to the board.
“A student like you wouldn’t know.”
“Try me.”
“Deuterium needs to react with something else to ignite the fusion process, but I can’t seem to think of one that would work.” He runs a hand through his hair and you can’t help but to notice how handsome the Hungarian actually is and it has your heart racing.
“What about deuterium AND tritium?” His head slowly turns to you as if saying ‘are you serious?’ “What? Try it.” He scoffs but still inputs tritium into the equation and after a few minutes, he leans back, his face red. “Well?”
“Don’t play smug,” he quickly grabs his stuff and pushes past you, rushing out of the door, leaving you to stare at the board.
“I didn’t actually expect that to work,” you laugh to yourself before grabbing your stuff and heading in for the night.
—-------
The cyclotron hums softly in the background and if it wasn’t for people bustling around you, you’re sure you would’ve fallen asleep. Leaning back in your chair, you stretch your body with a yawn, cracking your neck from the stiffness. Scooting your chair back, you fix your outfit before heading out and walking down the hall where you know the coffee will be, but your name being said stops you in your tracks. Following the sound of the voice, you creep towards an open room, staying out of the doorframe and straining your ear.
“I can’t have her here. She is compromising my work!” Ok, so it’s Teller, but who is he talking to?
“It seems she’s helping you more than she’s compromising. Lawrence wouldn’t have sent her here if he didn’t have faith in her, and I trust Lawrence,” Oppenheimer comments as you creep closer. It’s pretty obvious that they’re talking about you, but why?
“A girl shouldn’t be working here, it’s too dangerous.” You jolt your head back in confusion. Sure, you knew that Teller probably hates your guts, but you didn’t think he would hate you this bad.
“Edward, she is just as good, if not better, than half of the scientists here. I am not going to get rid of her just because she ‘insulted’ your work.” You can distinctly hear Teller cursing before he’s walking out the door and right into you. His hard features soften upon seeing your eyes, slightly glossy, but it’s clear that you’re hurt by his words. Instead of speaking to you, he just dips his head and moves around you, rushing away leaving you standing there with an empty coffee mug. “I wouldn’t take it to heart, he doesn’t think that 90% of the staff should be here,” Oppenheimer comments from behind, causing you to jump in shock.
“It’s stupid, we’re all here for the same thing. We’re all here because we’re good enough AND smart enough to work on this project, no matter our gender.” Robert nods his head in agreement, inhaling smoke from his pipe.
“Just ignore him. Works for everyone else here.” He pats you on the back before moving to leave
“Hey, Robert?” He turns around to face you. “Thank you.” Robert nods his head before walking away.
----------
The clock reads 11:04 by the time you wrap up your work for the day. You knew that the days were going to be long before you came here, but you didn’t expect them to be this long. “God I’m so hungry.”
“It’s a good thing I brought some food.” His voice carries through the room, causing you to whip your head through the door only to spot the Hungarian physicist standing in the doorway, a paper bag in his hand.
“What are you doing here? I thought that you don’t want me here, let alone bring me food.” You can see his cheeks blush crimson ever so slightly as he makes his way over to you, sitting in the chair opposite of the control panel but still in your sight.
“I wanted to apologize. I shouldn’t have said those things.” His apology has your eyebrows raising in shock.
“Edward Teller? Apologizing? What world am I living in?”
“Don’t make me take it back,” he warns before scooting his chair next to yours, opening the bag and pulling out the contents. “I made some pörkölt. As an apology.” He pushes the tumbler towards you with a spoon and you’re not really sure how to react. After a moment, you take the spoon and bring a mouthful of the stew to your mouth. You don’t know what you were expecting it to taste like, but you definitely weren’t expecting it to be good.
“This is actually prett-” you can’t finish your sentence before you feel a pair of lips against yours, causing your eyes to go wide. After the shock factor dissolves, you quickly push him away, confusion written all over your face. “What the hell?”
He pulls back in confusion as well, his bushy eyebrows furrowing over his blue eyes. “Have I been reading you wrong? Are you not into me?” You have to resist the urge to slap him. Instead, you rapidly stand up, pointing a finger at him.
“Do you seriously have the audacity to ask me that? You keep me up at night with your piano playing, and then get mad when I try to help you. Then you get mad when I help you with your project. Then you insult me, talking about me behind my back, and you think that I like you? Why on earth would I be into you?” He knows you’re lying. He can tell by the way your chest raises up and down and pupils dilate. Chuckling, he stands up from his chair and steps in front of you with slight hesitation.
Grabbing a hold of your biceps, his blue eyes peer into yours. “I know you’re lying.” He doesn’t say another thing before he’s dipping his head down and pressing his lips against yours. You try to fight back, but deep down inside you can’t deny how right it feels. Giving in, your arms come up and wrap around his shoulders, anchoring him to you as you walk back until you’re pressed against a wall. It’s a minute before you break away, both of you gasping for air, his body heat radiating to you and it makes you nervous.
“We shouldn’t, we’re in public you know.” He scoffs and looks around the room, especially the dark windows and dark hallway.
“No one is here,” he replies as his hands drop to your hips, his thumbs brushing your skin underneath your shirt. “If it’s that much of a problem, we can go back to my place.” His offer has you pausing for a minute, but if you’re being honest with yourself, you don’t mind getting down and dirty in the lab. Shrugging your shoulders, your hands push off his jacket as he lets it fall to the floor, his head slotted between your head and shoulder.
“I think I’m good here,” you can feel the smirk of his lips against your neck as his teeth drag across your skin, causing your eyes to flutter shut. Pulling you into him, you’re completely enveloped by his warmth as his hands creep lower, one hand resting on the small of your back and the other on your ass, fingers flexing as if he wants to do more but there’s still some hesitation. “Teller…”
“Edward, please.”
“Edward, you know you can touch me,” the confirmation is all he needs before he’s hoisting you into the air and carrying you over to a desk, placing you down and slotting himself between your legs. You watch as he breaks away from you, shoving down his suspenders and loosening his tie. Reaching between your bodies, you pop the buttons of your shirt off and chuck it to the floor, exposing your breasts which catch his attention. Wasting no time, his hands find themselves on your breasts, squeezing firmly, causing arousal to pool in between your legs. It’s been a while since you’ve been with a man. Working in the Rad Lab under Lawrence doesn’t really give you much of a life, let alone a love life, so just having another man touch you is really enough to send you spiraling. “Edward, I can’t wait,” you whine, your hands finding his belt as he lets out a huff of amusement.
“That impatient, hmm?” You nod your head in response, hopping down from the table to remove your skirt and underwear as he works on his slacks, pulling out his member with ease. Shoving his hand out of the way you take hold of his growing arousal and flick your wrist up and down in languid motions, causing him to let out a low moan. Despite the fact that your hand is jerking him off, it is odd to you to see the impersonal Edward Teller so vulnerable.
Deciding that enough was enough, Teller gently removes your hand and picks you up with ease, placing you down on the desk as he slots himself between your legs. “You ready?” Nodding your head, your heart races with anticipation. You can hear soft Hungarian coming from his lips as he guides the head of his shaft between your folds before slowly pushing in, him grunting softly and you squeezing your eyes shut, trying to relax your body as much as possible. “Are you okay?” His blue eyes peer down to yours as his thumbs softly run across your hips.
Swallowing down any pain, you nod your head, wiggling your hips as you stretch around him. “Yeah, I’m fine.” He hesitated but nodded his head, a strand of his dark hair falling on his forehead as he slowly moves in and out of you, his brows furrowed in concentration. After a minute of him holding himself back, pleasure starts replacing the pain and it has your toes curling. He feels.. just right, you think to yourself as your eyes find him as lust taking over. “You can go faster.” It’s all the instruction he needs before his pace picks up and it causes you to snort. Who would have thought that Teller can actually take direction?
“What’s so funny?” His voice stirs you back to the reality of him above you, hands digging into your hips and you don’t doubt that it will leave a bruise or two. Reaching up, you thread your hands through his soft hair and pull his face down to yours, your lips meeting halfway with his as the desk creaks underneath you. The already stiff room slowly starts to swelter as sweat begins to glisten both of your bodies. Breaking away from the kiss, Teller places his head between your shoulder and neck, biting down on your exposed flesh as he thrusts into you rapidly. Your legs wrap around his hips, bringing him in impossibly closer and it causes you to let out a loud moan and you can feel his lips twitch upward against your neck.
“That’s right, keep making sounds for me édesem.” You’re not really sure what he’s saying,  but you’d be lying if you said that it didn’t turn you on, and he notices. Straightening his posture, he looks down at you with a smirk as his hips rock against yours. “Does me speaking Hungarian turn you on édesem?” You clench around him, accidentally proving your point and you cringe before he leans back over you, his member hitting a deeper angle that has your eyes rolling in the back of your head. “Micsoda mocskos lány.” He whispers against your ear, one hand reaching down between your bodies and finding your clit causing you to whine. “Alig várom, hogy elélvezz nekem.”
“Edward.” Your moan echoes in his ear as his fingers deftly rub your clit.
“Fogadok, hogy tetszik. Ugye, mocskos kislányom?” You hate to admit it, and you’ll probably deny it, but hearing him speak in his mother tongue has your orgasm nearing.
“Please,” you beg, your nails scratching against his back. “I need to cum.” Nodding his head, his hips shallowly grind against your, his dick dragging against your velvety walls as his fingers continue to rub your bundle of nerves.
“Cum nekem, Szerelmem. Cum for me,” the switch back to English sends you toppling over the edge and you clench around his member, your orgasm crashing through your body as he continues to thrust in and out of you despite his hips beginning to falter. “Bassza meg, olyan gyönyörű vagy.” He grunts, his thrusts becoming erratic. “Where?”
“On me.” Nodding his head, he quickly pulls out with a moan and shoots his spend all over your stomach, his chest heaving up and down as his eyes flutter shut in relief for a second. After he comes down from his high he looks down at you with a smile.
Olyan gyönyörű vagy alattam.” He grabs a couple of napkins from the bag and wipes your stomach as you prop yourself up on your arms, body glistening with sweat.
“What were you saying?” He smiles before helping you down from the table as the two of you start redressing.
“Nothing important, édesem. We should probably clean up,” he gestures to the floor around you littered with papers. When did they get knocked off?
“Huh, I don’t remember them falling off,” you comment, kneeling on the ground with shaky legs and picking up the papers, Teller helping you before a throat clears in the hallway, causing the both of you to look up.
“If you guys are going to fuck, please keep it out of the lab,” Oppenheimer comments, puffing his pipe before walking away causing you to tilt your head in shame and Teller to quickly stand up, his face beet red.
“You do this too! Seggfej!” The room falls quiet as tension grows between you and Teller stand awkwardly across from each other.
“So.”
“So.”
“What did this mean?” You ask as you turn away, placing the papers back on the desk and fixing them, trying to avoid his gaze in case he rejects you.
Teller takes a step towards you as his hand cups your face and turns it to him. “It means that I like you. I know it doesn’t seem like that, but I do. You challenge me in a way that not alot of other people can do and I want that in my life. I want you in my life. If you want to be?” A smile graces your face as you nod your head.
“Yeah, I think I’ll like that.” Teller smiles in response, dropping his hand from your face and gathering his things.
“Good, would you like for me to accompany you home?”
“We’re heading the same way, so sure,” offering him a smile, you flip off the lights to the lab and take his hand in yours, “next time though, let’s do it somewhere else.”

Let’s imagine that Olivia Rodrigo brought out her Album ‘Sour’ now
Tumblr media
Two days later
“Jenna?” The voice over the phone called out, “hey Olivia, how are you? What can I do for you?” Jenna asked as she made herself a coffee before work. “Well, as you might know, my new album sour is coming out in three days and today I’ve decided that I will throw a party for it in two days. Wanna come?” She explained as she looked at some decoration on her laptop, “oh wow, I’d love to come. I can’t wait to hear your new album, I love your music” after a bit more of conversation they started talking about whose coming to the party. “and last but now least, we have Y/n and her plus on” the actress was shocked and took a minute to answer, “d-do you know who she’s - you know- bringing?” Her voice was quiet and unsteady as she tried to calm herself, “no, I don’t. Sorry”
Two days later
You were ready for Olivia’s party and your plus one, Kara, was too. Kara was Mia’s little sister, she was 16 years old and loved Olivia and her music, so you thought it would be a nice gesture to bring her along. The girl was like a little sister to you, even if she looked just as old as you. But you would always remember her as the 4 years old that you met 12 years ago that you showed how to ride a bike.
“Are you nervous?” You asked the girl when you arrived at the location, the music was heard from the outside just like the peoples taking. “I’d say I’m the perfect mix of nervous, excited and happy” she answered as you laid your arm over the slightly smaller girl and chuckled, “well, just don’t embarrass me alright?” Both of you laughed as you walked inside.
You’ve know Olivia before she got really famous and somehow your friendship stayed. You didn’t talk that often but for some reason you were still going strong and you loved it, she was a great person that deserves the best only.
The first thing you did was getting something to drink. You and Kara stood at the bar when a certain someone caught your eye, Jenna. After the kiss four days ago, where she stormed off, you haven’t seen her or talked to her. It was complete radio silence which really broke you. Especially after seeing Percy appear next to her, his arms wrapping around her as she talked to Conan. “You alright?” The girl next to you asked causing you to nod, not that it convinced her but she still decided to let it go for now. “Come on, let’s find Olivia” you took her hand and pulled her along through the crowds until you found the singer you were looking for. “Liv” you called out as she ran into your arms, “y/n/n” she hugged you tight while you slightly picked her up around her waist.
“Liv, this is Kara” you introduced your plus one with a happy smile on your face from watching the younger girl nearly die from happiness. “She’s cute” she whispered to you causing you to cough, “she’s 16” you mumbled, her eyes suddenly widening. “Kara is Mia’s little sister, she’s a big fan of you so I decided to bring her along” you explained.
After a couple of minutes you’ve decided to leave them alone for a bit while you went and talked to other people, at least until you heard Percy tell people that him and Jenna were a thing for the 6th time. Deciding that you need some fresh air you exited the building, shooting Kara a quick text to stay close to Olivia while you took a minute. A certain brunette following you.
“I really didn’t think blondes were your type, but I also didn’t think you were the cheater type so I guess I was wrong about a lot” you’d recognize that voice everywhere and the last four days you would have done everything to hear it again. “What?” You asked as you turned around to face her. “Oh come on, you either had feelings for her before or you guys even already had something before. There’s no way that you fall in love so quickly” she explained while accusingly pointing her finger around as you chuckled sarcastically.
“Okay, hold up. First of all, you don’t get to judge me for bringing someone when the last four days I’ve been calling you nonstop and send you around 200 messages per day! It’s unfair you know, that shit broke me. I overstepped a boundary and I’m sorry about it, but you could have just told me instead of ghosting me. I didn’t know you had someone, you never told me and don’t even try to say that you didn’t know that I was making moves! Damn it, I would have backed up if I knew you had someone! But no, I have to find out from Percy running around and telling people!” You were pacing around as the anger inside of you built up, you were mad at her, mad at Percy, mad at yourself and mad at the world.
“What is he saying?” She asked as she watched you pace. “Damn it Jenna, he’s telling people about your relationship. Something you should have done weeks ago! You know who I brought? Mia’s little sister, she’s 16 and obsessed with Olivia. So no, I don’t likes blondes and no I’m not the cheater type” your chest was heaving as you looked at the ground and tried to calm yourself. “Y/n, Percy and I aren’t a thing” she told you as she stepped closer but you only shook your head, “maybe you should tell him that first”. With that you walked back inside to Kara and Olivia.
“You alright?” The singer asked as you stood next to her, “yeah, just needed a moment” you answered as you watched Kara and Olivia interact. “You’re y/n, right?” A manly voice next to you said causing you to turn, only to find Percy next to you. “Yeah, I am” your voice wasn’t friendly or nice, it was cold and gave clear indication that you didn’t want to talk to him. “Look, you should keep away from Jenna. She made a mistake when she kissed you, she regrets it deeply. Being in love with a girl as a girl is disgusting and the media won’t like it, so I turned her and I want you to keep away from her” you couldn’t believe what you were hearing, you tried to calm yourself, you really did but it was too much for you. Without another word you pulled your arm back before your fist collided with his face causing him to stumble back. “One, she can decide on her own who she wants to talk to and who she doesn’t wanna talk to. Two, just because there are girls who get more girls than you do that doesn’t mean that they’re disgusting! So if I ever hear you talk about one of us like that again, it will end worse.” Due to the rage inside of you you didn’t notice the crowd forming around you. But in that moment you couldn’t care less, the urge to throw yourself at him was overwhelming.
“Let’s just go, it’s not worth it” Kara pulled on your arm as she talked. You let yourself be dragged away from the crowd, your eyes catching Jenna’s as you did. “I’ll go home. You can drive the truck home later” you spoke out after you calmed down, you felt bad for ruining the girls party. “It’s fine, let’s just go home” she was too nice for her own good, but you could also really use the alone time. “I mean it, it’s okay. Stay a bit, make sure to stay close to Olivia okay? Then you can drive home to mine and we’ll see from then on, enjoy your time here” you laid your hands on her shoulders as you talked. “Okay, thank you” she hugged you tightly before going back inside.
You quickly texted Olivia before slowly making your way home. You were so caught up in your own thoughts and music that you didn’t notice anything happening around you. The events still confused and hurt you, what if she said the same thing to him and the reason she didn’t text back was because she was disgusted by you, or maybe she just wanted to try herself out.
You didn’t come very far, around 1/4 of the way before a hand suddenly grasped your wrist causing you to spin around. “Are you crazy?” You scolded, “it’s dark outside and this isn’t quite the best part of town. Do you know how dangerous it is to walk around alone? Do you know what could have happened to you?!” Jenna’s heart broke as she heard you speak, even after the whole amount of pain she caused you, you still cared for her. It was sad really and it made her sad, you didn’t deserve all that pain.
“I-I couldn’t just let you go like that. Percy didn’t have the right to say what he said. Especially because he was so damn wrong about what he said, I don’t regret kissing you one bit, it was the best decision I’ve made in a loooong while, but I was scared that I overstepped a boundary and I didn’t wanna be hurt so I isolated myself. And the only reason I brought stupid Percy to this stupid party is because I’ve heard that you were going to bring a plus one and I didn’t wanna look stupid but now I do anyway and the only thing I’ve learned is that I’m a really big idiot” she was breathing heavily when she was finally done talking, there were some tears running down her face and her fingers while nervously clawing at the fabric of her cloths. The silence that build between you two scared the girl more than anything had ever done.
“If I see Percy being out of line one more time I won’t promise anything” you said before grabbing the smaller girls waist to pull her close to you until there wasn’t any space between you. She carefully laid her arms on top of your shoulders, one hand on your jaw carefully stroking it with her thumb while your hands gripped her waist. She closed the space between your lips. The kiss got deeper and deeper as she pushed herself closer to you while your hands gripped her waist tightly as if you were scared that she’d disappear again when you let go. “Don’t ever go radio silent on me again ok?” You whispered against her lips before kissing her again. “Never, now let’s go somewhere where we aren’t being watched” you let go of her waist as you pulled out one of your AirPods and gave it to her. “Let’s go then” you told her as you started walking.
Her arm constantly kept brushing yours causing you to feel how cold she was. So you pulled of your jacket and laid it on her shoulder before she suddenly wrapped her arms around your waist and pulled your arm around her shoulder. You chuckled before pulling her closer and making your way to your apartment.
When you arrived you quickly grabbed some sweatpants and hoodies for the both of you to change into before settling down on the couch to watch some Netflix. “You alright darling?” You asked as you noticed Jenna stare into the air, she suddenly started grinning. “I missed you calling me names like darling” she told you which caused you to smile. Cuddling close, you started the TV.
It wasn’t what you expected to happen tonight but it was still great, at least until now

You feel awkward.
Sitting in the backseat of your car and listening to the late-night university radio show, you wait for your dear friend Jeongin to come out of the luxurious house in front of you. As you check your watch, you realise it’s been 48 minutes since you arrived, and you are already running out of patience.
Jeongin drunk called you in a panic while you were sleeping and you had no other choice except to pick him up from Changbin’s party. Of course, you were invited by its host a few days ago - his parties were not ones to be missed, and mysteriously enough, he really wanted you to be there. However, you weren’t so sure you did. There was always a lot of alcohol and trouble involved, and you weren’t in the mood for drunken mistakes.
Also, you knew that Choi San was probably going to be there.
Maybe I should’ve gone.
The late-night spring breeze, softly caressing your face through the rolled-down windows fills your heart with melancholy and you let out a deep sigh. You open yet another jelly package - your 5th for the night. It makes you feel better, or at least you think so.
You see couples -  all smiles and giggles, leave Changbin’s place, holding hands and ready to continue the night in someone’s dorm. You can’t help but feel a little jealous. There are also a few wasted students, barely able to walk, emerging from his front door and still singing whatever song was playing inside. And no sight of your friend.
A small voice in your head whispers to let loose for once and go inside, but you silence it. You just have to pick up Jeongin, drive him to his dorm, and go home to watch Spirited Away for the 20th time, crying in your bed for being so single.
Pathetic. Yes, that is a better adjective to describe your feelings.
“So don’t get discouraged, my friends. It’s perfectly fine to stay single during your university years,” you hear the radio host say with a laugh. Perfect timing. “One-night stands are always an option if you’re not ready to tie the knot!”
“Oh, come on,” with a groan, you reach out to the front of the car to turn the volume down. You don’t want to listen to a random guy indirectly making fun of your love life. The bitterness doesn’t leave you, though.
You’ve had your fair share of first dates but that was all it was - there was never a follow-up date or a shy goodbye kiss at your dorm’s door, promising more. So all you can do is dream and hope for your turn to experience love to come sooner or later.
Relationships are difficult. That’s what you know for sure, especially when you rely on a so-called love alarm. No one exactly knew where it came from or who made it, but everyone around you trusted its judgment. It seemed to be “attached” in a way to every person and watch their every move. Fate sure had its strange ways.
Walking on eggshells around every guy you met, you used to dread the day your alarm will go off. Everyone said it’s a sign you’ve found your soulmate, and you should be on cloud nine if you happened to hear it.
You heard it once.
And weren’t so happy about it.
You chase your thoughts away and take out your phone from the handbag next to you. Now isn’t the time to feel sorry for yourself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tonight couldn’t have gotten any better than this.
Reluctantly, you step out of your car and start walking towards the entrance of the house. You can’t possibly leave Jeongin here even though you prefer to stay in your car, eating your favourite gummy bears.
The first thing you notice once inside is the smoke. It makes you cough so you put your hand in front of your nose to shield yourself from it. You start making your way through the dancing students, crowding the rooms on the first floor, trying to find your friend, but in front of you is an endless ocean of unfamiliar faces. The deafening music makes you want to forget why you’re here and join the others, but all you do is hum to the beat as you walk around.
As you reach the kitchen area, you trip on an empty whiskey bottle and almost lose your balance before someone grabs your hands to keep you in place. Looking up, you see a tall guy gazing down at you. It’s too dark to see clearly, but you’re pretty sure that’s Yeonjun - Beomgyu and Kai’s roommate. The neon lights - purple, green, and blue, coming from small projectors placed around the room, slightly illuminate his features and you see the pleasant surprise in his blurry eyes.
Yeonjun’s dressed in a casual black t-shirt and stylish pants of the same colour - simple but effective. He has never needed much to stand out anyway. You feel your heartbeat accelerating, making your ears ring. You used to have the biggest hallway crush on him a couple of months ago before you actually spoke to him and realised you had close to absolutely no chance with him.
That was fine. You got over it pretty quickly. However, there was no place to deny Yeonjun was and still is way too attractive, even though his reputation could be problematic at times. At least that’s what the hushed voices in the girl’s dorms said.
“Easy there, Y/n,” he leans in to shout in your left ear as he eases his grip on your hands. His drunken grin makes you laugh. “Didn’t see you earlier.”
“I just came,” you explain, your eyes wandering behind Yeonjun. No sight of Jeongin. “Have you seen Felix?”
“Darling, I don’t even know if I’m dreaming or fully awake right now,” his right hand slides around your shoulders as he moves to stand beside you. You feel his hot breath tickle your neck before he places a soft kiss behind your ear. He has never been so close to you before, except for the occasional greeting hugs he gave you when you saw him at your friends’ dorm. “But I know I want to get out of here with you.”
What?
“You’re too drunk to have this conversation, Yeonjun,” you say and push him away a little. There’s no way you’re dealing with another highly intoxicated individual tonight even though a small part of you wants to. His eyes are filled with disappointment, and there’s a slight pout on his lips as you turn to properly look at him. “See you around.”
“Call me!” You hear his shout as you leave the room and go for the second floor. Here, it’s calmer, and the corridor is empty except for you and two guys sitting on the cold marble floor making out. Judging by the layout, there should be only bedrooms, so you excuse yourself as you jump over their legs, careful not to disrupt them.
After opening most doors and witnessing some quite traumatising things behind them, you finally find your friend in one of the bathrooms. The room is small - there’s just a sink and a toilet, so Jeongin is taking up most of the space, curled up on the tiles with his head on what looks like a folded hoodie with a few questionable dark spots on it. You almost take out your phone to snap a picture and laugh at it in the morning. Too much hanging out with Beomgyu.
His eyes are closed, and his breathing - heavy as you kneel next to him and shake his arm. “Jeongin, you have to get up.”
Your friend’s face twists in disgust, and his body suddenly tenses. “I’m going to throw up.”
“Hold it,” you say, backing away from him and getting up. You turn on the sink and splash him with cold water, to which he protests. “I’ll drive you home. Come on.”
“Man, I can’t. Lift me,” Jeongin’s whine makes your eyes roll, and just as you’re about to answer him, the door opens with a loud creak.
“Jeong, I found-,” the raspy male voice you hear behind you gives you goosebumps. Now that was unexpected.
Turning back, you can’t help but feel excited. You wonder what kind of look you’ll see on its owner’s face, and when you’re met with his icy dark eyes, piercing through yours, you smile to yourself. So the usual.
At this point, there are no surprises between you two. Whenever and wherever you saw him - it was the same. At first, you were offended by his cold and distant attitude, his sharp look, and his pursed lips, but now they don’t bother you as much. Or at least you thought so.
Choi San hadn’t always been like that when it came to you, though. When you first met him six months ago at the freshman welcoming party, you found yourself smiling way too widely after your conversation with him. Honestly, your memories from that night were a blur, but you did remember some things.
Maybe you took a few shots together.
Maybe you danced a little too provocatively with him.
And maybe you even almost kissed him.
However, all that was shattered into million pieces after he just…changed. After the party you started hanging out together - your newly found friends were his too, so it wasn’t a rare occurrence for you to go on a spontaneous trip out of campus for the weekend or have an unproductive study session together. Things like that, though, don’t last long.
Suddenly, his boyish smile and charming dimples were never for you.
Neither were his jokes and compliments meant for you to hear.
You weren’t sure what about you made him switch up so drastically in the following months and neither did any of your friends know. He didn’t seem to care to explain too.
Sometimes you miss his other side - the one he shows everyone else (and the one you used to know so well), and secretly you want to see it again, but you aren’t delusional. There is not a single universe where this is possible. You don’t believe in this anymore. Still, a small part of you wonders why.
Even though your heart still sometimes flutters at the sight of him, you find it easier to give him the same attitude back instead of asking questions. Your relationship is confusing enough as it is. No need to complicate things further. You can live with the “I hate your guts” dynamic.
So now, knowing it pisses him off, you flash him an ironic smile, “Hello to you too.”
“What are you doing here?” San’s voice echoes in the space between you as he closes the door. The slight blush on his cheeks from the alcohol, the black t-shirt, tight around his toned body and his disheveled hair make you stare more than the appropriate amount. Mentally scolding yourself, you notice the water bottle in his right hand and point at it.
“You might want to spill it on his face. He’s not getting up,” you joke and step aside so that San can squat beside Jeongin. The woody smell of his perfume fills your senses as he passes you, making you dizzy.
“Yeah, he’s wasted. I’ll take him home,” San says in a matter-of-fact tone and pats your friend on the cheeks. “And you didn’t answer my question.”
“I don’t have to explain myself to you,” anger is building up in your whole being, making your blood boil a little from his demanding voice. “And I am taking him home. You’ve drunk.”
“That’s why I’ll call an uber and-”
“Can you shut up? I’m really going to throw up,” Jeongin interrupts you two as he tries to lift his head before San can say anything else. His teary red eyes meet yours before he looks around, confused, “Where’s Felix?”
“He wasn’t here when I came in,” both you and San say simultaneously, frowning at each other. You pull your phone from your back pocket to try texting Felix, but as usual, luck is on your side - your battery is dead.
“Whatever, just get me out of here before I completely lose my mind,” groans Jeongin, and you quickly help him stand up - his arms around yours and San’s shoulders. As much as you are annoyed with San’s presence, you’re grateful Jeongin had someone to look out for him while you weren’t there.
On your way out, you see some of San’s other friends wave at him from the now quieter living room downstairs. You only recognise Wooyoung, laying next to two other guys with his eyes closed on the fluffy white carpet amongst empty bottles, and Seonghwa, smiling warmly at you from the couch. “Are you guys leaving?”
“I’m helping her with Jeong,” shouts San, sounding irritated —a win for you. “I’ll be back in a minute.”
Seonghwa nods and turns to look at you, “Have a safe trip to the dorms, Y/n. See you tomorrow.”
Avoiding his eyes, you feel a little flustered by his words and his deep voice but manage to find the strength to wish him a good night. While you’re walking to your car, San lets out a low laugh, and you give him a warning look.
“You’re as red as a tomato, Y/n,” he says, amused. “You should’ve heard yourself.”
“For someone so skilled at ignoring me, you surely pay a lot of attention,” you tease him as you unlock your car and open the back door. You only hear San huff in response after he lays Jeongin down on the seat and then turns to face you. What you see in his eyes this time is unreadable, and you aren’t so certain what to make out of it. Was it hurt? Jealousy? You shake your head - no point in trying to figure him out.
“Be careful, Y/n.”
These are his only words before San hands you the water bottle he was carrying and turns around, leaving you alone and baffled. You sigh as you look up at the night sky.
For some reason, tonight the stars are shining brighter than before.

m. wheeler | see you tomorrow, mike
pairings. mike wheeler x fem!reader
about. it seems like mike isn't interested in you, making you blame it on your appearance so you ask lucas if he thinks you're pretty. mike overhears a part of the conversation, making him misunderstand everything.
warnings. not edited so don't mind the little errors, a little cursing, mike being a dumbass, kind of mutual pining, angst (not really), eleven doesn't exist in this (sorry), and no particular season mentioned, lmk if i missed anything!
a/n. i read something a couple days ago on tumblr and i literally cannot find it anywhere but if you know what i'm talking about, this fic is entirely based on that. also, i have to make a stranger things masterlist but i'm too lazy!
word count. 1.6k
Tumblr media
you, and lucas were gathered at your house, waiting for the rest of the party to get there. you all were going to be at your house this time because mike's basement was getting a small renovation.
you both sat in an uncomfortable silence, not being used to being alone with each other. "i heard there's going to be a big storm coming soon." lucas pointed out.
you nodded your head, continuing the subject about the weather. but the weather wasn't the only thing on your mind, you wanted to ask lucas about mike.
since you moved to hawkins, you were unable to stop thinking about the freckled face boy. you've known him for years now, but you were still unable to understand his mind. mike was reserved and quiet while lucas is unfiltered and loyal, lucky for him, max and him had similar personalities.
mike didn't seem that was interested in you in the slightest bit, and it made you wonder if your physical differences were unappealing to him. was your hair too long, too short, too thin? were your eyes too wide or too large? or was it the color of them.
"lucas, do you think i'm pretty?" you asked out of the blue, completely shocking lucas with the question.
"uhm..."
you quickly restated your question, not wanting him to get the wrong idea, " i'm not asking if you find me attractive, i mean do you think that other people can find me attractive."
his face quickly softened, "and why would other people finding you attractive matter?" he genuinely asked.
you mentally facepalmed yourself. "i just want to know if i'm at least equally pretty as the other girls' you boys like."
"then yes, i think you're very attractive, (y/n)." he replied. but his reassurance just wasn't enough, it just made you more confused. what made you attractive to lucas that wasn't attractive to mike?
you looked over at him and smiled, "not as pretty as max, though?"
he let out a sigh, "i've never seen a girl so beautiful." he admitted.
and you just sat there. wishing someone would talk about you like that. wishing someone would look at you the way that lucas looks at max. wishing someone would create a giant radio just so he can talk to you from miles away like dusin with suzie.
Tumblr media
mike had just made into your house, walking over to your living room where you and lucas were sat. "yes, i think you're very attractive, (y/n)." he had heard lucas admit.
the entire party was supposed to be meeting at your house, but lucas' confession was more than enough to make the dark brown-haired boy turn back around and exit the house.
mike thoughts are all over the place, not being able to organize them. he couldn't be upset about lucas liking (y/n) because he never brought up his feelings for (y/n) to anyone.
but what about max? everyone noticed max and lucas growing closer to each other. how could lucas lead her on and then move on to (y/n)?
maybe (y/n) wasn't the girl everyone perceived her to be after all.
Tumblr media
after a while, the rest of the party had flooded in, all except mike. they didn't think too much of it, stating that he probably had to clean up or something.
they all sat in your living room, watching a continuous amount of horror films and throwing popcorn at each other.
after a while, it all started getting late and it was still a school night. before lucas left, he went up to (y/n) with a question in mind. "hey, (y/n)," he said as he walked over to you.
you hummed in response. "when you asked me if you were attractive, you said that you wanted to know if you were pretty like other girl us 'boys' like."
you nodded your head, not seeing what he was trying to get at. "were you talking about a specific boy"
blush quickly spread across your face. "you were talking about mike, weren't you?" you only shrugged, "yeah, but it doesn't seem like he's interested in me, which is fine." you stated whispering the last part.
"don't worry, (y/n). mikes just weird, he needs some time to open up."
you weren't so sure if you agreed with you thanked him and waved him goodbye as he rode away on his bicycle.
Tumblr media
the next day at school was weird to say the least. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that mike was keeping a safe distance between you and the rest of the party.
while the rest of the party didn't seem to care about his behavior, you were absolutely livid. you were distracted the entire day, not being able to figure out why he was ignoring you all.
"i think we should go over to mikes house today." you randomly blurted out as you and the party ate lunch. "he didn't invite us over though." max stated matter of factually.
you rolled your eyes at her response, "that's not the point. he's ignoring us for no apparent fucking reason at all!"
"mike's just being his usual bitchy self, he'll be running back to us when he finds out that were literally his only friends." dustin brushed it off, finishing his lunch.
for the rest of the day, you tried to keep your mind of mike, yet it was almost impossible.
Tumblr media
the last bell of the day had just rung. you were quickly stuffing your notebooks into your backpack, then rushing out of the classroom.
you went to unchain your bike, seeing that the rest of the party had already unchained theirs. just as you were getting done, mike walked out of the building. you looked over at mike, seeing him rolling his eyes at you.
you scoffed, completely shocked by his action, "the hell is wrong with you?"
he glared at you, still continuing to ignore you.. "mike, can we please talk?" you asked.
he cocked his head to the side. "what's wrong?"
"there isn't anything wrong, just wanted to tell you something while i have the courage to."
he shook his head. "(y/n), i already know."
you looked up at him in surprise, "you do?"
how does he know? did lucas tell him? no, he wouldn't do that! lucas is my friend.
"yes. and (y/n), i have to say... i thought you were better than that."
you were truly shocked by his response, how could your crush on him make you less of a person? "mike. i-i'm sorry?"
"i thought that you and max were friends! how could you do that to her," he turned around to lucas, "how could you do that to max?" his teeth were gritted, and his ears were starting to turn a cherry red.
"mike, what are you... what are you talking about? me and lucas, we didn't do anything to max!" you were now overly confused, so was the rest of the party.
he walked closer to you, making you step back more. "yesterday, i overheard you and lucas talking, i heard him telling you how attractive you were. how could you do that to max?"
his statement caught you off guard, "that's bullshit! you of all people should know that i would never do that to anyone, especially not max." you got on your bike and rode away, not taking a glance back once as you rode off.
lucas walked over to mike and pushed him. "you're so stupid, man."
max and the party had an extended amount of questions about the entire situation, but quickly understood what happened when lucas explained it all.
Tumblr media
after confronting (y/n), mike was left confused and somewhat guilty. at dinner, his family notice how quiet he was. "mike, are your friends coming over tomorrow? i got some dvds from family video, wouldn't want them to go to waste." karen said, chewing away at her steak.
he just shrugged his mom off, continuing on to his thoughts.
"you of all people should know that i would never do that to anyone."
a little while later the party ended coming to his house, except for you, of course. lucas explained to him how everything was a misunderstanding and (y/n) just needed reassurance. reassurance because mike made you feel like you weren't pretty.
he felt so stupid. why couldn't he have just told you that he liked you?
Tumblr media
mike went up to his room and grabbed his walkie talkie, switching to the right channel to talk to (y/n).
"(y/n)? (y/n), you there?" he asked softly.
you lay awake on your bed staring at the ceiling. once you heard your walkie talkie going off, you picked it up and extended the antenna. "(y/n) here." you responded.
mike took a deep breath before continuing to talk. "hey... i just wanted to say that i'm... i'm really sorry. i shouldn't have jumped to conclusions and i- i should've asked you what happened," he was quickly cut off from his rambling by you.
"mike, it's fine, you were just being a good friend to max, i get that. it would have been better for you to ask what happened, but it's fine, thanks for apologizing."
mike smiled, glad that she wasn't angry at him. "i uhm... i heard you had a crush on me." your face heated up instantly, "yeah, i guess you can say that."
"well, my mom brought some dvds from family video, would you maybe... possible want to come over and watch some movies at my house tomorrow?" mike asked hopefully. you smiled even harder than before, biting your lip. "that would maybe possibly sound good. see you tomorrow!"
"yeah, see you tomorrow mike!" lucas snickered into the walkie talkie, laughter being audibly heard in the background. mike groaned loudly, throwing his handheld transceiver across his room.

LIFE IS HARD. -a sprolden fanfiction
(angst, tw: suicide mention. words: 685. a/n: trying to recreate Alice’s writing style was really hard, sorry if they’re ooc)
Tumblr media
Today is Saturday, but I don’t really feel any enjoyment about the school-free day. I am doing what I do everyday anyways. I am laying in bed, watching a film. A bad one, not that I care whatsoever.
Dating is ridiculous, I have come to that conclusion. Michael is ridiculous too, so I don’t have anything better to do right now than dread life.
I would say my hands ache to grab my phone and text him, but that would be a lie. The only thing happening to me right now is feeling the need to re-freshen my tumblr’s page every single second. But that’s just because I am bored. Whatever.
My throat is dry, my diet lemonade is empty on the floor. It’s quite messy here.
Click, click, click.
Charlie has just greeted Nick at the door, I hear their happy voices in the distance. It’s gross. It’s lovely.
Click, click, click.
My hoodie is starting to bother me. The hood is too big and it keeps falling from my shoulders. I should throw it away.
Click.
Anonymous: Thought for the day: wouldn’t it be all easier if everyone was the same?
Anonymous: Thought for the day: how worth it is saying the truth?
Anonymous: Thought for the day: what happens to the different ones?
Anonymous: Thought for the day: is it morally acceptable to end your life?
My hands stop. White noise is in my ears, Charlie and Nick’s voices gone. The overheating computer is gone. My heartbeat stays.
It has been radio silence from Michael for a week. Knowing he is alive is nice, so I don’t know why my finger has clicked the call button on my phone. However, he doesn’t answer.
My sheets make me turn and roll and get up. They’re too hot and itchy, so I throw them to the floor.
I don’t know how it happens, or why, but the breeze makes my hair messier than it already is. My jacket does barely anything to cover me from the cold, but that’s just my own fault.
This is where everything started. The long brown house and the cliff over the river. Michael is standing on that same cliff, with his hair ruined and big pyjamas. It’s just like going back in time. But he is not smiling, he wears a frown on his face like a medal and his hand holds his ice skaters over the river. A tear falls on top of his arm.
I don’t want to be pushy. I hate pushy people, but I can’t stop myself from walking right to his side.
“What are you doing here?”
His harsh tone hurts. His free hand is curled against itself, like everything he wanted to end with was in the air.
“You can’t die.”
He turns, the wind makes his hair cover his eyes, so I don’t really see what I want to. I don’t see if he understands me, if he agrees. I am scared.
“I’m not going to kill myself.” His feet step away from the cliff. “If that is what worries you.”
His voice is laced with anger, not something I’m used to. I look at him and we’re silent for a couple of minutes. I don’t know what to say, so I don’t say anything.
Hugging him is something I don’t do often, but seeing him about to throw his whole life into the river… he can’t give up.
His body is stiff as my arms circle his torso, my head pressed in his arm. He sniffs, so I press my arms harder.
“I am sorry. Please don’t throw away your life.”
We go backwards, as away from the cliff as we can. I take his ice skaters, leaving them on the floor and then I hug him correctly. I don’t want him to be like this anymore, I want him to laugh and say stupid jokes like he always has, but that’s selfish. I’m selfish for wanting that.
“I’m sorry Michael. I’m so sorry.”
We’re both crying, but we are also laughing, so everything is okay. For now, at least.

peter sutherland x neurodivergent!reader 💌
this is very self indulgent lmao. i tried to keep the mental stuff vague so you can hopefully imagine any mental illness in place of stuff besides the reader clearly having adhd because i have adhd. i hope anyone who reads this is able to relate and feel understood and comforted <3
warnings: mention of recreational drug use, reader is in between ages of 21-25 (i’m 23, so)
Tumblr media
it’s not like you were opposed to telling peter about your medication. if he asked, you wouldn’t lie. you just didn’t want to be the first to bring it up. you knew you shouldn’t be ashamed of having to be on medication, and you knew he would never judge you, but you couldn’t help it.
that lasted for a couple months. your meds wore off around four or five in the afternoon and because of this, a lot of the time you got to spend with peter before he had to go to work was spent holding yourself back and trying to keep your symptoms closed off in an area he couldn’t see.
but now there was a problem. peter was somehow able to manage a couple weeks of vacation time in order to spend more time with you, real time he had always called it. he hated only getting to spend a couple hours with you each day just as much as you did, which was why he asked you to stay with him at a cabin he owned during his time away from work.
you said yes, of course. you figured he’d eventually find out during the trip, so you tried to relax at the thought of the conversation at the very least happening in a comforting environment. you’d just finished packing your bags when peter walked down the hallway of his apartment complex to your door and knocked. you smiled, you’d given him a key already so he didn’t need to knock, he came over all the time anyway. you liked that he did it anyways, always respectful of your privacy and space.
“you ready? peter asked while grabbing your bags and walking them down to his car.
you nodded excitedly and hopped into the passenger seat, the car already full with snacks for the drive and your favorite music playing on the radio.
the two of you sat in comfortable silence until your meds started to kick in, kicking your energy into high gear and making it practically impossible for you to keep your mouth shut. you were worried he would start to get annoyed by so much chitchat but he didn’t seem to mind, intently listening to everything you had to say and responding when needed. he even laughed a couple times which was a victory in your book.
you arrived at the cabin soon after, beaming at the cabin and then at peter. “sorry for talking so much. i didn’t annoy you, did i?”
“of course not, pretty girl. it’s just your meds kicking in. nothing wrong with that. besides, i love listening to you.” he quickly grabbed the bags from his trunk and started leading you to the front door.
once you got inside you tilted your head, peter setting the bags down on the floor. “wait, how did you know i take medication?”
“i’ve seen it in your bathroom cabinet. ‘take one every morning’.” he quotes the label that’s printed on the bottle. “it’s for adhd, right?”
your face scrunched, “well, yes. i never outright told you so i just assumed you didn’t know. you don’t mind?”
peter grabbed your hand and led you to the couch in the living room, silently telling you to get comfortable while he got a fire started. “why would i mind? there’s nothing wrong with it.”
“no, i know. i mean, i know you know that too. my brain just…likes to lie to me sometimes. im guessing this also means you saw the other meds i take, then?” sighing, you squeezed his hand in need of reassurance.
“yeah. and just to repeat myself, there’s still nothing wrong with you or taking medication. whether it’s for adhd, anxiety, depression, insomnia… anything really. it doesn’t change the way i see you and it never has.” peter squeezed your hand in response, leaning over to kiss your cheek.
cheeks quickly turning red, you groaned and leaned your head onto his shoulder, hiding your face behind your hands.
he was having none of it, moving your hands and replacing them with his own, cupping your cheeks. “hey, hey, hey…none of that. you don’t need to hide with me.”
“i know, i know. i just need reminding sometimes.” smiling softly, you gazed at his loving expression, his thumb gently rubbing back and forth on your skin.
“i’m happy to do it.” moments pass before you hear peters voice again, now wavering from trying not to laugh. “im happy to try some of those edibles you have too. i saw you packed ‘em in your bag. did you really think i wouldn’t notice you getting high?”
“peter!” you poked his side until he fell backwards laying on the couch, your legs straddling his hips. “it’s for my anxiety. and for fun.” his hands immediately shift to rest on your waist, grinning up at you. “i think i’m a bad influence on you.”
he snorts. “oh, definitely. i kinda like it though.”

Hi! You might be wondering "aw, geez, where did that Runway Runway guy go? Last I heard he was off in England, and I haven't heard anything about someone on the ground there getting ingested into an engine while trying to pet one of the planes, so what gives?"
Well, truth is, I've been in the UK. I've only just gotten back to my proper computer mere minutes ago. Essentially, let it be known that data roaming is not equivalent to getting a foreign SIM, and I've had such barebones reception for the past two weeks that never mind researching and putting together posts, I couldn't even make an update post with my pathetic Premier Inn wi-fi. I'm really sorry about the radio silence.
I have accumulated a lot to write about, though. Among other things I took a fairly bizarre Luton - Gatwick flight, via Edinburgh, in order to enable myself to travel well over two hours to a certain decommissioned airfield. I've gotten my hands on a book, and I've also gotten my hands on an Airfix kit which is so old the box seems to suggest the Vickers Vanguard was one of the biggest draws in airliner models at the time. Also, I flew on an A320neo for the first time! Wow, those things are powerful. Blink and you miss the whole takeoff run.
I'll make another update vis-a-vis schedule as soon as I myself have a good idea of what the situation is going to be. I'm definitely going to take a couple of days to adjust to not living in a hotel anymore, plus getting used to typing on an actual keyboard again. I'll be posting throughout, replying to outstanding asks (I am so sorry) and getting the pictures I've taken all downloaded onto my computer. There are a couple things I saw that I thought were pretty neat!
When I do get back to proper posting, the next four subjects will be, in order: British Airways; British Airways; EasyJet; American Airlines. As for when those will go up, expect a better answer shortly. Coming a bit further in the future, I also have some material planned about the various liveries of a very, very special airplane.
