laws of sibling dynamics dictate that in some slightly healthier universes that Rhaenyra and Aegon may not like each other, they would definitely default to being on the same side in family conflicts because they’re the Oldest and the shared experience “lol remember that time dad actually tried to parent us then gave up? wild” of it all

post-canon every single member of kimcom likes to spoon kim dokja. nonsexually. it's just nice to know he's alive and there and feel his chest rise and fall within the circle of your arms. try to do something stupid now asshole. oh you can't? because of my octopus impression? that's right. take THAT. however i will make one exception for yoo joonghyuk. yoo joonghyuk may want to spoon kim dokja, but he never gets the opportunity because kim dokja wants to spoon him more. so the sleeping arrangement is yjh>kdj>all other kimcom members on rotation. actually i take it back there's one other household member who doesn't want to spoon kim dokja and it's yoo mia, but that's fine because she's one of the only people (besides kim dokja) who yoo joonghyuk would be comfortable spooning. so there's probably times when it's yma>yjh>kdj>today's lucky winner.
incidentally this is also the order for the doing-each-other's-hair train because while yoo mia WILL allow other people to do her hair, no one wants to because she always compares their skills unfavorably to her brother's. and she's really articulate about it. just utterly scathing. one time her criticism was so devastatingly, accurately incisive that she made lee hyunsung cry. yoo joonghyuk spooned him that night to cheer him up and yoo mia was so mad about it that lee hyunsung had to leave the country for a couple weeks. the household learned a valuable lesson that day. it's best not to disturb the delicate spooning/hair-train balance.

Fic idea:
Former 90's rock star legend, Eddie Harrington, starts a podcast in the late 2010's with a weird choice of people (normal, not famous people, yikes!), but who apparently are close friends.
This podcast evolves quickly into a sprawling D&D campaign that gathers a cult-like following for a few years until one day it just explodes in popularity and becomes more mainstream. Eventually they move to streaming the campaigns live from their own homes/offices (simultaneously recording them for the podcast), and most people in the party have their own little fan clubs based on their characters and individual lore, compete with merch.
Eddie's always the DM, he enjoys it, and thrives on the chaos his team seems to try and generate to annoy him. The Party themselves (Dustin, Will, Lucas, Erica, Gareth, Mike and Jeff) have relatively normal jobs, so go absolutely feral during the podcasts, like they're reclaiming the insanity of their teen years.
It's just great fun, hardly anything like the dark, brutal campaigns Eddie used to run during Hellfire, and it's a great stress relief for them all. It eventually gets to the point where most people recognise or know Eddie from his D&D stuff, forgetting that he was 'originally' famous for half a dozen kickass rock albums.
(Sometimes Steve makes an accidental appearance by wandering into shot, or bringing Eddie coffee or snacks, and he ends up with his own wholesome little fan club because he's so normal in comparison to his hubby).

That one quote in one of the early game manuals about how Samus "isn't afraid to look silly" if it means getting the job done; of course was already taken to its natural conclusion with that one comic about her entering a clown school to get at Ridley. But like, dialing things back a bit, I find that to be an interesting quote given the Chozo of it all.
Like, on one end of the spectrum, there's Raven Beak with his extreme ego, and it feels like he would either blusteringly reject the notion of anything he does being silly or embarassing, or alternately be too far up his own ass and simply not aknowledge it as such in the first place. Though as far as we know, any direct contact between he and Samus was kept to a minimum, so his influence there is likely similarly negligible.
On the other end there's Old Bird, who along with being very humble, struck me as the sort to intentionally lean into silliness at times in that Cool Trolling Grandparent sort of way. So that probably has a big influence on her not really minding that sort of thing.
But then right in the middle there's Grey Voice, the Complicated Bird Dad™. And he's sitting right on that line between Raven Beak's Proud Warrior Guy attitude and Old Bird's more thoughtful wisdom. And he strikes me as the type who would actually aknowledge something embarassing as something embarassing, but also do his best to stoically downplay his actual level of embarassment. And I feel like if Samus picked up on that, that's probably the main model for her own approach to any embarassment she might still feel despite the aforementioned Old Bird innoculation.
So basically, what I'm saying is that if she were to make a big fumble during a mission in her time with the Federation, those with her probably saw a rather bird-like (or cat-like for an easier point of reference) mannerism of smoothing her metaphorical ruffled feathers and playing it off as not having happened; "You saw nothing" without any words.

younger brother is lying here on my floor complaining about how he's being forced to live in a medieval castle JUST BECAUSE i'm playing lute music, drying herbs, and hanging up tapestries right now like... is this a bad thing? do you want to live with a minimalist instead?

Me, having the day of all time: oh what a dandy little bumblebee, I sure hope it's butt is all I think of for the next 24 hours--
My brain: hey if Old Child is supposedly the reason for all vampire stereotypes then that implies he started the lack of reflection myth by avoiding looking in the mirror, most likely because he didn't want to be reminded of what happened to the real Hugh or look at himself in Hugh's body lol

if you're wondering how sensitive I can be, I just started crying because my mom's initial comments on my new glasses were "oh" and "perky" and "according to the current trend" instead of "pretty" and "they really suit you" which is what I hoped to hear :(
the fact I slept maybe 2 hours last night may have something to do with my reaction, but you know. still 💀
