It’s scary to know that if it wasn’t for Kite, we wouldn’t even know who Gon was.

Like think about it for a second.

If Kite went to Whale Island and came only a second late to meet him, the dude would’ve already died by an angry mother Foxbear (yes, that’s what those creatures are called).

The only reason why Kite even travelled to Whale Island was to find any possible clues about Ging’s whereabouts, NOT to find Gon.

The man could’ve got there at any other time of the day, of the week, or even of the year and it just so happens that he coincidentally arrived on the same day that Gon needed rescuing, as soon as he almost gets killed by a wild animal. The timing of this is weirdly terrifying to think about because all it takes for this meeting between the two to change was if Kite was only a bit slower or got to Whale Island on any other day of the year.

Like the guy wasn’t even aware that his master had a son. He only went there because he knew that island was Ging’s birthplace.

So let’s see how the story would go if Gon wasn’t saved on time:

Kite was an inch too late to save Gon and he never learns about the fact that Ging has a son. Gon dies in the forest alone and Mito and Abe go look for him only to find that he had been mauled to death by an animal. They cannot do anything for him but to grieve for the youngest Freecss of the family. Abe manages to slowly make peace with it but Mito doesn’t and instead relies on drinking to forget the pain and irresponsibility of her actions that lead to her adoptive son’s death.

Fast forward a few years later and the hunter exam begins. Leorio and Kurapika have already made their acquaintances on the boat (right after solving their differences) and agree to help each other during the exam.

Killua also joins the exam except he seems to be much more lonely but especially bored while taking the exam. Killua never meets Kurapika and Leorio and the two never meet him.

On the final phase of the exam, Illumi forces him to go back home and Killua can do nothing but do as he says.

Kurapika passes the exam. Leorio fails due to Bohoro being alive (instead of getting killed by Killua to make Leorio pass by default). Killua fails due to quitting the exam in the last phase.

Kurapika starts his mission to eradicate the Phantom Troupe by learning Nen and joining the Nostrade group while also keeping in touch with Leorio while Killua stays at home being tortured as punishment for disobeying the rules and going outside.

You see what I mean??

Gon was the literal glue of the group. He was the one who made sure Leorio and Kurapika stay with him, he was the one that properly met Killua, he was the one that made Killua stay with the group, and he was the one who insistently wanted to get Killua back, encouraging the others to do the same. He was the one that made Leorio join the chairman election.

If it wasn’t for him, the others wouldn’t have gotten as close as they could have.

So if Gon, an important piece of the group, died a little too early, the group wouldn’t have even been made.

All it took for this scenario to happen was if a foxbear had attacked a second earlier.

This situation sounds very dark (even though we’re talking about HxH here) but it could definitely work in a world like this one. I actually find this reality to be very interesting because we would get to see the other’s point of views of their own situations much clearer but that’s just what I think at least.

So in the Octavinelle manga, Yuu is named after the Sanzu river. Now this makes me wonder what afterlife associated name will the next manga Yuu have

I’m not a fan of it, but this could technically support the “Yuu is dead in their original world” theory (especially considering that this is a pattern continued from Yuuken and Yuuka, the previous two manga!Yuus). (Because why do all of their names have connections to the afterlife??? 😭)

Yuuken’s surname, Enma, could be a reference to Yama, who is the master of hell in both Hinduism and Buddhism. Meanwhile, Yuuka’s surname, Hirasaka, is the same as that of Yomotsu Hirasaka. In Japanese mythology, this term is used to refer to the boundary between the living world and the underworld. Now we have Yuuta Mito, whose name (when written) is 宥太三途. The 三途 portion is the same as the “Sanzu River” (三途の川), which is basically the River Styx in Japanese Buddhism.

It is also odd that all three manga!Yuus are also in circumstances where they happened to be at a crosswalk or passing in front of a large vehicle before they are whisked away into Twisted Wonderland (though this could just be the usual isekai trope)… and waking up in a coffin… Now that I think about it, I think Crowley also vaguely implied “parting from the former world” and moving “onto the next one” in the prologue, though to be fair, that statement is so vague it could literally mean anything 🤡

I guess two was a coincidence, but three is a suspicious trend and a concerning pattern… (not to mention they also stay in Ramshackle, where spirits unable to move on also reside.)

Well, I guess if Yuu is dead then it resolves them having to go home because there’s literally nothing for them to return to— 💀Easy solution for not leaving Twisted Wonderland tbh/j

a/n: this prompt is almost two years old. i apologize for the wait and hope it was worth it. warnings: spoilers (chimera ant and election arcs)

summary: after hearing about gon's injuries, you rush to swardani city to see your son, and confront his father. word count: 1,133

the air conditioning system hummed loudly as you sat across from ging in an empty meeting room inside the headquarters of the hunter's association.

there was a feeling of uneasiness, and anxiety that plagued you. it had been years since you had last seen ging. thirteen to be exact.

you had made a heartbreaking departure from him and your son many years ago, due to circumstances outside your control. and now you sat here, heartbroken, looking the man you once loved unconditionally in the eye, now filled with anger and hatred.

how. how could he have let this happen? how could he be so irresponsible? how could he be so immature?

your son, gon, was currently in the hospital. not only was he beyond recognition, he was also in critical condition, facing death every moment with no one having any clue how to bring him back. the moment you heard, you left everything behind and rushed to swardani city, fearful that your son may die before you ever got to tell him how sorry you were for leaving.

you had spent almost every waking hour at his bedside, sobbing. sobbing so hard you thought your lungs would collapse, so hard that you had to gasp for air. crying until you were numb, and the hospital staff gingerly escorted you out of his room, explaining to you that visiting hours had came to a close.

"you have a hell of alot to explain to me, ging." your eyes were red and puffy, with dark circles underneath. it was clear that sleep wasn't something you had been familiar with the past few weeks.

"i dont know what there is to explain. i don't know much more than you do, and frankly i don't appreciate you pinning this on me." he hissed, clearly bitter. after so many years the only time you had made an effort to see him was now. and it was to scold him.

"how could you leave him?" you asked, your voice shaking, the tears began to well in your eyes, burning them.

"hey, i could ask you the exact same thing." ging took no time to remind you that you had also left.

"i left with confidence you would take care of him-"

"but you left so really what right do you have to turn up after all this time and ride my ass about things outside of my control!?" he snapped, his brown eyes were fixed on you, burning a hole right through you.

"at least i came to visit him, that's more than you're doing asshole!"

"did it ever occur to you that i CAN'T go see him." ging replied curtly. he wasn't one to outwardly express emotions frequently, but you could tell something was different this time.

once more the room fell to silence, the air conditioning unit the only sound to be heard, were you not in the middle of the concrete jungle that is swardani city, you likely would have heard crickets chirping.

"what do you mean you can't?? of course you can he's practically right next door!" you angirly hissed back in response. how dare he insinuate hes too busy to see his own son who was barely holding on to life as you spoke.

"that's not what i mean and you know it." his expressionless facade was fading, you were cracking through the mask he paraded around with to look tough. you were seeing a part of him nobody had ever seen, except for you.

you stayed silent, eyes trailing down to the faux wood grain table. waiting for him to elaborate. you knew from past experience this could take a matter of minutes or more. but you waited nonetheless for him to finally speak.

"i don't think you understand the guilt i harbor, ___." ging finally spoke up, his eyes locked onto yours the moment you looked up, not allowing you to escape his gaze of honesty.

"mito knew. . . she knew I'd always be the same guy. she filed for custody of gon, she said my line of work was too dangerous, and that i wouldn't be able to take care of him properly. and to my surprise, I sit here today and admit, she was right." ging spoke, his voice remained level headed and cool, he didnt allow the emotions to play part in how he spoke.

he took a deep breath in, eyes flickering to the ceiling. "despite all the training and trials i laid out meticulously for him to get stronger..." he trailed off.

"i don't know what i would do differently... had he been with me would this still have happened or worse? or would it have been avoided all together." he rambled on a bit longer.

"why didn't you just say all this before, ging?" you asked, brows furrowing, tears still falling softly from your cheeks.

"psh.." he made a face, one lined with disgust, a rare change in emotion.

"ging. it's not your fault."

his eyes darted back to you. "since when do you have a sudden change in opinion?"

"since we've made it to this point in the conversation. " you replied curtly, following suit of his answers prior.

ging mumbled under his breath. "from what i hear he's a lot like you. he's got your optimism." ging responded blankly, a pang sent through your heart as you were brought back into the blinding reality of why you were there with him.

"are you going to do anything to address the issue at hand amongst the zodiacs?" you questioned, checking the clock in the wall. the others could burst in at any moment. "you know its causing a lot of pressure on their backs during the election. many of the hunters are well aquainted with or know of gon, they expect answers and they expect you visiting him.

"it's none of their business to be frank. that's the problem with this whole association, ___. everyone believes theyre entitled to a slice of other people's lives. especially pariston. i'm sick of him being up my ass about this whole situation. " ging rambled on and on about his hatred for pariston but love for the hunt for a few solid minutes before switching back to the current topic.

"look, what i mean to say is, they can spread all the rumors they want, i'm not changing. and i'm not inviting them into our life."

oh ging... still as shy and stubborn as he ever was.

"wait. ___, before you go..." ging spoke, his face flushing and his nerves beginning to tie his vocabulary up in knots. "thank you." he said loudly, though the distance between you and him was nowhere near needing of such volume.

the air conditioning finally kicked off, leaving you in a room of dead air and space. you checked the clock again, the rythmic ticking began to inidicate the nearing of the next hour, when ging would be expected to meet with other zodiacs.

you stood up, pushing the chair you had been previously occupying in and gathering your personal effects. "i suppose it should be time for me to drop back in at the hospital. i hate being away for so long." you turned, reafhing for the door.

"for what.....?"

"coming back."

I love the thought of Madara and Mito being besties. I know, the popular headcanon is that they can't stand each other, but ah, I find that a bit childish tbh. They're both adults who mean a lot to Hashirama, of course they'd try their best to get along.

And the thing is, it doesn't work out quite well in the beginning. They're both very polite around each other, but they can't quite see what there is in the other one that Hashirama loves so.

Well, until Mito once watches them spar and she suddenly realizes the fastest way to "talk" with Madara is fighting with him. Because let's be real; the best language Madara speaks is the language of fists.

So Mito proposes a spar with Madara - and once Madara realizes what Mito all has up her sleeve, all hell breaks lose. Good news is, they get along really well actually!! Bad news is, they get along too well.

Hashirama is constantly torn between euphoria that two of the most important people in his life get along, and wishing they'd get along a little bit less, please. The reparation costs they cause every time after they leave a destruction in Konoha is just too high, damnit. (Also, sometimes Madara comes over just for Mito and not for him?? His wife stole his best friend?? His best friend stole his wife?? Rude.)

He doesn't want to complain, because he really is immensely glad Mito and Madara get along - he just wishes their friendship could be a little more quiet, y'know? Like Mito and Tobirama, for example! (He only thinks that because he has no idea what goes down in that lab they experiment together. (Who do you think helped Tobirama with the Edo Tensei if not Uzumaki "we can summon the Shinigami" Mito??))

Anyway, chaos duo Madara & Mito, while Hashirama is sitting at his Hokage desk, rubbing his temples and wondering how he has become the most normal one in this family, please and thank you.

she goes to bother the uchiha clan because Beautiful Men. duh. also blah blah old school social rules about hospitality mean that big clans will take on unaffiliated wandering-nin. like in an old novel. what the fuck

it HAS occurred to her she could go to uzushio and claim she's a bastard or something and they'd probably take her in-- but that's far away and she'd have to dodge through multiple battle zones and like. what if she took a break and looked at pretty men? there's so many of them. *-*

hashirama and madara are both young sexy new clan leaders and the clans are at a temporary standstill while they try to negotiate an actual peace agreement and also maybe. a union? into a village? where they invite OTHER clans????

madara is experiencing Insane Feelings about hashirama 24/7 which range from "i should put his head on a pike because this is STUPID" to "if only he were a woman and then we could just unify our clans by getting married--"

anyway hashirama announces he's engaged to uzumaki mito and this triggers Extreme Jealousy in Madara except Madara will never admit this but also HE MUST MAKE HASHIRAMA JEALOUS BACK

madara and karin have had like three conversations but she dedicates a lot of time mooning over izuna because Duh. so like. madara's seen her scuttling around, fluttering her eyelashes and just HAPPENING to be there when izuna comes home or comes out of the bathhouse. he knows she's uzumaki because Hair.

anyway madara announces he is now engaged to karin in an insane LOOK I'VE GOT ONE TOO move. no he hasn't talked to anyone about it, least of all karin

all of the uchiha elders are like, "it's not an alliance unless we've actually TALKED TO her family??" and when pressed karin deflects by throwing a fit that she can't be engaged to izuna. it's mostly her playing up dramatics to distract from the fact that she came out of nowhere and no one can vouch for her identity, but also she's like 20% serious. izuna pretty!!!

here i also want to introduce a plot mechanism we'll revisit later, where uchiha engagement rituals involve one or both sides (non-ninja don't have to do this) going out and completing some sort of task to show off their ninja prowess. in peacetimes it's usually like grabbing an object from a difficult location or bringing home a very deadly animal. during wartimes it might be killing an enemy or stealing something from them. the more insane the thing, the more fortuitous it is for the future marriage

madara hasn't ACTUALLY done this because he doesn't ACTUALLY want to marry karin. he gives her something stupid he already has and she's like. kind of annoyed about it. hello if you're forcing her into engagement, at LEAST be romantic about it!!!!

anyway the surprise engagement doesn't phase hashirama and now madara is stuck engaged to someone he doesn't even LIKE and the uzumaki are confused but there's a bunch around for mito's wedding and so they're like "idk who this is but she's obviously one of us" and so madara has created a stupid situation where he'll offend them if he breaks off the engagement but also she's not actually important to them and therefore isn't politically useful??

also. and madara cannot stress this enough. she's horrible. she acts like a ditzy flirt on purpose but then turns around and is MEAN TO HIM and she talks back and stop looking at his brother like that

here is my vision for how they resolve the stupid situation. okay. madara is like "you have to give me a Reason to break up with you" and karin is like "okay but only if you let me marry izuna" and madara goes away and sets several things on fire and then comes back and is like. fine. if you do this, AND you can get izuna to agree, i'll let you marry him.

karin cracks her knuckles and reviews the oto playbook of how to be the most dramatic bitch in the room. it will be really hard to outshine madara, but she was trained by orochimaru himself--

here is the vision. karin, standing on the back of the kyuubi, using her chains like reigns, crashing the hashirama-mito wedding

karin: IS THIS GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOUR STUPID UCHIHA ENGAGEMENT RITUALS???

karin can't actually control the kyuubi with her chains, so all hell breaks loose immediately. madara and hashirama can both individually take the kyuubi so no one actually gets hurt, mito seal it into herself a decade early, etc. overall the senju-uzumaki guests are freaked out but hashirama laughs it off as a weird wedding gift. karin is 100% sure that if madara were like "she's a lunatic, take her back" then the uzumaki clan would accept. maybe she can hitch a ride back to uzushio. she never got izuna to fall madly in love with her but maybe madara will let her take him with her--

unfortunately now the uchiha elders are like. holy shit. you H A V E to marry her now

may i ask what the difference between ME and mitochondrial disease is? i’ve heard they’re linked but i’m not sure, and the internet didn’t have much info

ME is chronic fatigue syndrome, so basically a collection of symptoms surrounding chronic fatigue and symptoms caused by chronic fatigue. I'm not sure if there's a known cause yet, I've seen things suggesting it's autoimmune, some saying it may be mitochondrial in nature, and other theories. I don't know a huge amount about it because I don't have it, but I do know a lot of people with mitochondrial disease get misdiagnosed as having severe ME/CFS because of how similar they can look. I'm not the best source on ME/CFS and I suggest you ask people who have a severe case more about what that entails.

For mitochondrial disease, which I know more about because I have one of them, they're a collection of usually genetic diseases that all have the same basic cause: mitochondria are broken, missing parts, or like in my case, just plain missing. This causes issues in energy production, and depending on where your mitochondria are broken, the percentage that are broken, and how they're broken, you can have different symptoms. (Is there enough energy to run your eyes, your digestive system, etc)

Most mitochondrial disorders cause fatigue, but they can also cause a lot of other things. For instance, there's a type that causes seizures that gradually get more and more severe as more mitochondria in the brain are broken, or one that causes you to lose vision and hearing. Or my type of mitochondrial disease, myopathy, that looks like muscular dystrophy but with bonus content like gastroparesis, heart wall thickening, and other symptoms that are related to "muscles don't work." One of the "Get checked" flags for mitochondrial disease is 3 or more "systems" having problems. (Like muscular, neurological, and heart. Or hearing, vision, and digestive system. Stuff like that) CFS can also cause bonus symptoms like gastroparesis, further complicating things.

Mito is often considered more progressive than ME is, but that's more of a CAN progress verses a WILL progress sort of issue. (Meaning mito will almost always get worse over time, but ME/CFS can also progress in some cases but not others)

All in all, both mito and me/cfs are both not well studied, not well understood, and have so much variation within them that its hard to discuss the differences in a way that's not like "well they're different, except when they often overlap in severity, symptoms, progression, and other traits." Most of the time you need a muscle biopsy to truly tell the difference. Someone could just have droopy eyelids and occasional seizures but it's mitochondrial, or someone could be bedbound with a feeding tube and chest port and have ME. We are all tired as hell either way and want better medical care.

This has been sitting at the back of my brain for a few days and I am thinking something like this:

Sasuke runs away from Konoha (I am putting aristocracy as well in their system, so aristocratic families would be Senju, Uchiha, Uzumaki to a lesser extent-Kushina being the one to take the name of the Konoha Uzumaki after Mito so Naruto is technically the next Uzumaki lord) when Danzo attacks him to get his Mangekyō (which he awakened because he thought Itachi was dead).

Itachi ran away with Shisui when Shisui’s eye was stolen and they joined the Akatsuki, an association led by Obito who is trying to stop wars and especially Danzo because Danzo is fucking up everyone. Kakashi also joined Obito because it turned out Rin’s demise was a plan by Danzo to get more tailed beasts in Konoha and increase military power or at least rid Kiri of theirs.

The Akatsuki is based in Uzushiogakure, which they want to rebuild and transform into a village where you actually do not send kids to war. Naruto wants to become Uzukage, rebuild Uzushiogakure and kill Danzo (who, guess what, orchestrated the Kyuubi attack because he wanted Minato gone to become the Hokage)

And then they go after Danzo’s ass.

(I am taking away the pirate plot line just because I am unfortunately not very well-versed with that language section nor do I know much about pirate culture and it wouldn’t be very accurate)

But I am thinking of the setting as a Feudal Japan era, kind of like Madara and Hashirama era.

alright, disclaimer first: my warring states DR might not exactly be the best thing to freely talk about, especially with what's currently happening on other platforms regarding shifting.

there's a lot of things regarding this era in general that would be looked down upon—and i won't be making excuses for not scripting them out, because i wanted the full experience of shifting to naruto. i just wanted to put that out there.

so, with that out of the way, let's talk about my DR itself.

(1) MADARA AND IZUNA

i have to admit that, while I'm generally fine with Madara, i have some mixed thoughts on Izuna. overall, they're both not bad as family. i would go so far as to say that the elder is one of my closest friends, surpassed only by Hikaku. he's kind, and very indulgent with my whims. Madara likes to look out for everyone even when they don't want nor need it, is a bit obsessed with taking his duties seriously, and likely suffers from some form of burnout. thinking of him does make a bit sad, though. Tajima's still alive, and the man's been grilling him on finding a bride. problem is, HashiMada was a thing in my DR :'DDD and I'm currently the guinea pig having to deal with Madara's sulking fits. i am, frankly, honoured to be someone he trusted with that secret, but i am not equipped to deal with romance. as for Izuna? call me any day—i am down and ready to throw hands. I'm kidding (not really). where Madara's the prime elder brother material many people would probably want, Izuna's that babied brat of a cousin who spells trouble just because he can. he's not a bad person—i don't hate him. chances are, I'd actually team up with him for both stupid arguments and serious fights if it suited me. but it doesn't make him less of a nuisance to deal with. Izuna gets very sexist and classist from time to time, and...well, xenophobic (i don't even know if that's the right word, but you get what i mean). he's also very pushy and arrogant.

(2) MITO AND HASHIRAMA

to be honest, i have more experience dealing with Tobirama more than either Hashirama or Mito. hell, even my interactions with Tōka are more significant compared to the couple. for the most part, my contacts with the elder brother happen only because of my (pseudo?) acquaintanceship with the younger. Tobirama and I often use the same routes when travelling between smaller villages, especially on solo missions and in neutral spaces. here's the thing: while I've met and talked with Hashirama in passing, all of those times happened only during times I've scripted, but not shifted for. these are events where we're required to interact with each other. think of: the daimyō's clan rep summons, battlefield warfare, semi-joint missions, and the like. he's very open and friendly, and almost always willing to compromise—there's no doubt about that. but I'm also very wary of him. listen, he's a nice person, but I'll just be honest and say this: i don't trust him, not the slightest bit. my opinion on Mito isn't any more different. it's not that i dislike her, but neither do i actively like her. it's a neutral feeling, i suppose. I've seen her more than I do Hashirama [ok wait short break—by every god that exists, she's actually really fucking gorgeous]—but, like Hashirama, i don't know her enough to formulate any substantial thoughts about her. just that she's associated with the senju, and her clan is allied with them, so that makes her a threat by nature. i won't lie—the time I've spent with the uchiha has influenced me by a large margin. it's not going away anytime soon. and even then, a part of me already acknowledged that both aren't people i want to fully deal with. with tobirama, it's easier, because we have this mutual regard for one another. i interact with the man from time to time, and we're at least familiar. his family is a different story.

(3) OTHER CURIOSITIES

hmm...there's actually a lot of things I'm interested in, in my DR. i suppose by 'curiosities', you meant some kind of non-canon aspect of it? I'm trying to keep this entry short, so I'll just list two things here. I'll just add more details to the DR journal later on. well, there's this group called the Soldiers in White. i wouldn't go so far as to call them vigilantes, although they skid near that boundary. they're an organisation made of clan defectors; and, as far as I'm aware, their main objective is to promote the intermingling of the average clan members with 'common blood', and it's done in an act of science. they're a pretty radical group in my DR, so they're catching a lot of controversy. there's also the bi-annual clan rep summons, announced at the daimyō's convenience. there's no set date for it. it's basically this nationwide (and by that i mean only Fire Country) gathering for all clans, and it's done so His Royal Highness gets an update on what's been going on with his vassals. i don't attend the actual bureaucratic meetings, but there's an open festival available for three days straight. it's a fun event, and I've gone to it twice while shifting.

also, yeah, i definitely recommend shifting for the founders! i haven't seen much others going there, just the usual konoha 12. it'd be nice to chat about it with someone :DDD

Speculations from the cavern Part III

Part I

Part II

Let's dig into the most unhinged Uchiha's tradition : eyes exchange !

Based on both pictures above, it looks like it's the same set of eyes and that Madara just removed the blind one. But no it's much more chaotic than that!

That's not his original eyes to start with. He inherited Izuna's eyes in the same way Itachi offers his to Sasuke to awake the Eternal Mangakyou Sharingan. Slight digression but am I the only one wondering what Madara and Sasuke did with their "old" pair of eyes? Did they just dump them in a bin, can they re-use them later or give to someone else? Or do they just rot when detached from their original sockets? (Gosh... I feel this post is getting too graphic 😭)

From part II, we know now that Madara was actually free to move across the globe most of his life. Everyone thought he was dead at the Valley of the End and after roughly a decade most of people who personally knew him were deceased. However, he was handicapped with only one sharingan left. His right eyes had been sacrificed to resurrect himself with Izanagi.

Since he was waiting for the Rinnegan, I don't think he replaced his blind one but who knows? he said also, I misquote, that Sharingan are like light bulb always good to have more on the side.

Talking about spare eyes. There is at least two people (aside Obito) that Madara met during this long exile. Nagato and an Uchiha who gave him his single sharingan.

For the unknown Uchiha there is many possibilities :

1/ Did Madara have the habits like Danzo to collect Sharingans after a battle? And there was so many wars during his lifetime, it's like doing mushroom picking in the forest.

2/ He kept secret contact with some Uchihas inside Konoha, still loyal to him. But I'm not convinced. He seems to have been totally cut off from Konoha when he left.

3/ He has known (sympathized?) with an other Uchiha in his old days before he awakened his Rinnegan. That could be a nice fanfic idea if anyone interested. That person was probably not strong or relevant enough to be useful as a pawn, but close enough to have giving him his/her unique eye left for some reason.

About Nagato. All I can speculate is that like Obito both were rushed choices. Not rush in a way it was a mistake, but rushed that as soon as Madara has awakened his Rinnegan he literally had a countdown above his head before dying. His first move was to look for a senju descendant. How strange to choose a distant Uzumaki cousin rather that a direct Senju like Princess Tsunade? In theory she is an ideal candidate to be able to bear the Rinnegan, she is both descendant of Hashirama Senju and Mito Uzumaki. Was she not easily accessible to him? (I think she was already a grown adult and trained medecine shinobi by this time) Did he already reckon she was too weak for the job? Maybe witnessing her story and her struggle with haemophobia, alcoholism and depression ect.. He judged her long time ago as a "weak woman" for carrying his plan. But for sure, he knew perfectly the Senju/Uzumaki lineage, he didn't discovered her during the 4th shinobi war. The fact he never mentioned her name shows how disappointed he was by her abilities as Hashirama's heiress.

Finally he chose Nagato, an immigrant in the Ame country if I remember well. Just like Karin, or Kushina, he was one of the few survivor from Uzumaki clan scattered in different countries. It's hard to tell how Madara could have switch his eyes without his parents noticing it. It seems you can't deactivate a Rinnegan like a Sharingan. Hagoromo, Madara, Nagato and even Sasuke never switch them off once it's awakened. Like how the hell can you look at your child one day with normal pupils and the next day looking crazy like this :

Iruka pulled Madara up holding him in front of his face. Looking at him with her brown eyes, holding him apart from the fabric of his t-shirt.

Iruka: Even when you're little, you're not that cute. He said sulking.

Madara's cheeks turn red because of Iruka holding him against his face while Iruka told him he wasn't cute. He tried to free himself without success and therefore could do nothing to protect himself from Iruka's caresses.

Madara: Stop Iruka, I beg you! he said in an adorable tone.

Iruka: Ho go Madara-kun. He said with puppy dog eyes.

Huge reason why Tobirama is at odds with Hashirama its cause He's spent years not only building up his empire but building a home that he felt comfortable to live in. Oh, I'm sure that the first few months of his stay in River Country was with the notion that he would go back but the very instant he saw that he could prove himself useful to restructuring a village of civillians, provide a new economic opportunity, and his growing influence of having more people depend on him for their entire livelihood Tobirama invested just as much back.

He's made friends. He's built a name for himself. He has multiple Daimyos of Minor Countries sucking his dick cause he has that much control and power over the 'Silk Road' as it were.

Hashirama doesn't understand just yet.

Hashirama doesn't understand cause he's computing his own memory of Tobirama being his steadfast support and not updating with the reality of grown-the-fuck-up-Tobirama. This Tobirama has responsibilities outside the scope of being Hashirama's younger brother. This Tobirama doesn't feel an obligation to make his anija's dream work for the decades to come. Oh sure, he'll lend a hand in providing supplies, provisions, and smaller merchants for specific needs/immediate resources, but look around:

Konoha is already up and running. Limping more like, but at the same time Konoha wasn't built with a single opinion in Tobirama's name. There's nothing in Konoha itself that is his obligation to oversee except that of his brother and family members (sure as shit Touka won't be forgotten).

Also, another thing, Tobirama is still LEGALLY not a Senju. Being banished is more than just throwing someone out of your house, especially when your father was the Main Line Clan Head. There's paperwork involved with eradicating the name of a disgraced son off the family register. Tobirama, in the eyes of the law, is a commoner with no last name.

It's easily fixable, Hashirama is Clan Head and maybe even the Hokage (unsure what point of time this is). Hell, some Senju Elders were just waiting to be asked before drawing out the already formulated paperwork out of their sleeve. But the whole situation only proves to Tobirama that his anija isn't someone who he can throw his whole life away for.

Hashirama, as a trained, tried, and true Clan Head didn't even take the necessary steps of acknowledging his own brother on the House Registry until it was directly told to him.

Butsuma is still alive and apparently Hashi still wants dear old dad to live despite Tobirama already planning an assassination.

the audacity for Hashirama to immediately believe that Tobirama would stand at his side for the rest of Konoha's construction goes to show how his dear Anija put value into Tobirama's autonomy

Huge fight breaks out. probably a screaming match. It's not good. Mito and Madara come out to separate the two brothers and Tobirama is just...done. He's the fucking White Fox how dare anyone believe that he is obedient to anything but his own whim.

Tobirama leaves Konoha.

Oh there's still trade going on. Merchants are still allowed to do business with Konoha shinobi (and wasn't that a trip when Hashi-Mada discover that the merchants and traders are all controlled by the will of the White Fox only). Mito might crack her fist against her husband's skull cause he was being a dumbass.

The Byakugo seal has nothing to do with Mito's survival. The Uzumaki clan is one of the powerful clans who have enormous chakra since birth and also have great stamina and also preserve their lives for a long time. The Byakugo seal has nothing to do with that.

What the hell are they on about the Byakugo just stores chakra heck Mito's isn't even the Byakugo seal, but the seal that was used to hold Kurama inside her.

If Kushina already inherited Kurama then likely that seal was used to seal part of Kurama's charka so Mito wouldn't have died the same way Bee survived through the eight tails cut off tentacle. Since we know jinchuriki die if the tailed beast is extracted.

The only reason Mito is alive is cause of the life force of the Uzumaki clan, it is also implied that Hashirama died rather young as well so while Mito will be old its only been 30+ years or so from when the village was founded.

Sakura is not going to out live Naruto or Sasuke if anything Sakura is doomed to die young cause creation rebirth shortens the life span and unlike Tsunade Sakura doesn't have spare of that since she isn't an Uzumaki. I give Sakura only able to use creation rebirth once or twice at best before it causes her to start dying or age rapidly.

All the jinchuriki made by the other villages that had a biju after Mito sealed Kurama in herself were just a collective delusion.

How do you think Hashirama captured and subdued the Tailed Beasts in the first place in order for him to distribute them to the different villages? He obviously didn't subdue them by creating Jinchurikis, he used his Wood Style. There's also the Sharingan that can subdue and control Tailed Beasts, and also the fact that they can very easily be captured and sealed inside other things, not just people, as evidenced by Shukaku being captured and kept within the Sand village before Bunpaku became his first Jinchuriki, and also shown through the Akatsuki capturing and sealing the beasts. So yes, other methods of keeping the Tailed Beast subdued existed, the Kages were not forced to create their Jinshurikis, nor should Hashirama be blamed or held accountable for them doing so.

What the hell are you talking about? You didn't say anything here to refute my point at all. Just because creating Jinchurikis became a trend, doesn't mean the Kages were all sheep who couldn't think for themselves. They could think for themselves, and they all thought they'd rather create the Jinchurikis. But as I said, it's not like they were forced to or couldn't think for themselves. Hashirama can't be blamed for the other Kage's copying what Mito did, especially when the only reason she sealed Kurama in herself in the first place, was to ensure Madara couldn't use him in their fight anymore. The other Kages had no such circumstances, as I made clear in my last response to you, which you have conveniently ignored here.

Well he didn't say that he did intend for them to create Jinchurikis either, which is what you were suggesting, and is entirely untrue.

Allow me to refresh your memory because I seriously cannot even believe that you made this point - You initially tried to place all the blame on Hashirama by accusing him of creating "a fear based peace" by apparently "enslaving innocent beings by turning them into war weapons". That was completely wrong, and I proved that he had no intention of creating a fear based peace, and explained how he was not the one who had created any of those Jinchuriki's.

You then tried to backtrack on that by saying how Hashirama "indirectly" gave the other villages the idea of creating Jinchurikis by sealing Kurama inside of his wife, to which I again corrected you by highlighting how not only did Hashirama not seal Kurama inside Mito because she did that herself during the battle with Madara in order to ensure he could no longer be used as a weapon, but the other Kages have minds of their own, and it's not Hashirama's fault if they decided to create Jinchurikis of their own accord, because that was not his intention. He didn't tell them to create Jinchuriki's.

So now, you're saying that Hashirama didn't explicitly tell the Kages that it was not his intention for them to create Jinchuriki's, despite the fact that he didn't tell them to create Jinchuriki's either, so clearly, it was not his intention for them to do so. Seriously man, your point here is so weak, my god.

Can you really not see the irony and hypocrisy in what you just said? My goodness. Let me refresh your memory again because this is unbelievable - In your last ask to me, you said "Tailed Beasts aren’t dumb. They would know that the nations would make them weapons, just like Madara did with Kurama". So clearly, you thought that the Beasts would think that the actions of one person (Madara) would be "equivalent to an entire continent", since you explicitly indicated that the Beasts would somehow just "know" that the other nations would also use them as weapons, just because one person did so in the past. I even called you out on that when I asked "why are you saying that the beasts would just somehow “know” how they would be used based solely on the actions of just one person?".

And now, you're here being snarky and sarcastically telling me that one person is equivalent to an entire nation in order to mock me? Are you kidding me? You were the one who made that implication in your last ask, not me, and I called you out on it. I didn't say that one person is equivalent to an entire nation, but my point was that the Tailed Beasts wouldn't just somehow "know" that the other nations would use them as weapons just because one person did (which was your point), because Bunpaku, one other person, showed that people can also treat the Beasts with respect. That was my point.
