Hazbin Hotel Headcanons:D

That I collected through the internet and now have and absolutely adore. Feel free to add yours:)

Warning for cannibalism and possible spoilers. Enjoy:)

Alastor

1) Alastor rather eats meat of his possible victims than organs. He finds them edible, but just doesn’t like it.

2) Alastor never shares his food. And even when/if he is cooking something for others, he will cook the same food in the separate bowl just for himself.

3) Even if Alastor fell in love he would never(or really unlikely) realise that. Possibly because his own ego and beliefs.

4) Alastor sometimes fantasises about him being executed rather than his own original death. His favourites so far: hanging and electric chair.

5) Alastor would have a love/hate relationship with Will Wood’s music(yes.) just because he despises and underastimates all modern music.

6) Alastor has literal piles of old(and sometimes broken)radios.

7) Alastor hates discussing love and relationships, if they’re not about breaks up, while Rosie adores talking about them.

8) Sometimes Alastor cannot control his shadow. In terms of where it goes and what it does. So yeah, sometimes he walks around without shadow.

Rosie

1) The stuff Rosie proposed to Charlie when they met was prepared by herself.

Also I think Rosie can cook anything(aside from bones perhaps). She knows a lot of recipes about how to cook organs, different types of seasonings, etc.

2) Rosie has Belgic roots. Or French. I feel like she speaks French and maybe Italian or something. I haven’t decided.

3) Rosie only likes to drink dry semi-sweet wine among the alcohol beverages.

4) If Rosie would ever open a fashion business, all her clothes would be with embroidery. She loves embroidery and is pretty good at making it.

The Vees

1) Vox has a love/hate relationship with an electro swing. He likes it, but also “hates” it just because Alastor also likes it. He also likes dubstep and techno genres.

2) Valentino’s afraid of tickling.

3) Val’s also absolutely cannot sleep with the lights turn on, because he’s a moth.

4) Vox was absolutely horrified when he got to Hell and realised that he’s a fucking TV. If there wasn’t a constant danger of getting killed, he would probably sit in the corner of some building in shock.

5) Velvete uses Vox as powerbank.

6) Valentino’s eyesight got worse especially after he realised that he can use Vox’s head when he’s asleep, so now he kinda watches whatever he wants on his head when he’s bored.

7) And also Val and Velvete play the console using Vox(ye, the comic:))

8) In earlier days Vox was absolutely disgusted by someone touching his screen(in first days(look up #4) himself included), but as the time went and also the upgrade, change in themes, he kinda suppressed this disgust.

9) Velvete likes strawberry in chocolate.

10) Vox can draw decently, he just usually doesn’t have time and much imagination to do so.

11) Also Vox has a bad habit of tearing paper to keep his hands busy. By that I mean any paper. So yeah. There were some accidents.

Residents of the Hotel

1) Residents of the Hotel bump into Nifty at least two time per day.

2) Sir Pentious hates stairs.

3) One of the reasons why Husk hates his form is because he cant stop throwing off hairballs.

4) Angel can keep important secrets.

5) Nifty and Charlie both likes those bright and colourful plasters.

6) Vaggie is allergic to citruses(lightly but still).

7) Cherri makes her coffee with energy drinks. Tastes awful, but at least she’s full of energy to kick someone’s ass.

8) Husk knows a lot of card games and also taught the Eggbois how to play couple of them so they’d stop bothering him so much.

9) When he was alive, Husk used to travel and move from one country to another quite often.

10) Sir Pentious when he has a shower, always takes his Eggbois with himself.

11) The reason why Sir Pentious’ ship was covered with plasters was because his Eggbois thought they would actually heal it.

12) Lucifer will never admit that process of making ducks stopped bringing him as much happiness as it used to. But after seven years of just making them, trying to keep his mind off his problems, it just became a routine.

13) One of the reasons why Lilith decided to “disappear” was because at night Lucifer constantly stepped on his ducks and then screamed and cried and apologised to them, making it harder to sleep.

14) Charlie used to make little theatre shows with her toys when she was younger.

15) When Vaggie and Charlie’s relationship got a little more established, they had a whole trip through rings of Hell.

16) Lucifer has a handmade duck copy of every person that he met. He made the most absurd one for Alastor, of course

17) Angel is scared of swallowing bubblegum, because he genuinely believes that his gut will glue together if he does so.

18) Vaggie can’t stand sleeping covered.

Other Overlords

1) Zestial is a tea nerd. I think he would actually do those Chinese ceremonies and stuff. It’s like… the more he appreciates you, the more effort he would put into tea x)

2) Carmilla was(and maybe is?) a big fan of ballet and took classes when she was alive.

Other

1) Adam would love Beetlejuice. In any form, cartoon one, film, musical… He would be a fan.

2) Adam hates waking up at the morning and tells to “fuck off I’m a Gods fucking son” to anyone who tries to wake him up.

3) Adam hates tomatoes and will absolutely roast anyone who eats them when he’s near. Except for Lute.

4) When Heavens court plans to set up a party they usually don’t plan to invite Sera and St Peter.

5) Mimzy is the one who talks about her previous life more than anyone else, each time adding almost unrealistic details.

6) Adam calls his Exterminators group "tits" for because they are woman and there's a bird like that.

6)(this one is to Hell in general) I like to think that you don't die in Hell in a way that when you recieve a deadly wound your body just kinda... gets more regeneration, so you still feel pain untill the wound is healed, but you don't die. So when Exterminators stab sinners with angelic weapons, process of regeneration stops, which gives them opportunity to die.

7) Though Vox created his own special kind of dying for himself. When his screen gets badly damaged, he changes it, so same goes with his body. I think he has a folder somewhere with his personality.

some mini collections of tips for writers

(based on things that yours truly notices as a freelance editor. This list is in no way complete, and will probably be added to as I continue to find repeated mistakes) 

Dialogue

Use beats in your dialogue to break it up. Even “said” can make a very effective beat between lines. 

(No beats: “It’s not lethal. Just highly dangerous with a good chance of being mutilated.” // Beats: “It’s not lethal,” he said. “Just highly dangerous with a good chance of being mutilated.”)

Note how the break allows a bit of a pause for ~dramatic effect 

thinking of dialogue, use punctuation and distinct speech patterns! “Life, uh, finds a way.” is an iconic line anyway, but Jeff Goldblum’s signature verbal tic gives it character. 

It’s okay if characters stutter. Don’t let the condemnation of stuttering characters as “cringey” in fanfic put you off. (and on that note, fuck cringe culture. Seriously. It saps all the fun out of creativity and fun is important.)

Start! A! New! Line! Whenever! Someone! New! Speaks!!

DO NOT FEAR THE WORD “SAID” 

Setting & Blocking

 Use the landscape and settings around your character, and always, always remember a scene’s blocking. Where is everything in relation to your characters? Have you left someone holding a coffee cup for the last three scenes? Did you lose a character somewhere along the way? 

using the contents of a scene is also great for fight sequences. 

Similarly, large character casts are hard to keep track of so don’t be afraid to break them up. Sending someone off somewhere else can create some nifty little subplots. 

Keep a personal note of how time passes. Trust me, it’s incredibly helpful to you as a writer and also for future readers. 

Characters

Character growth does not have to be positive. Sometimes characters fail or suffer or get their motivations twisted up, and they finish the book as a villain rather than a hero. 

All that matters is that a character changes throughout the plot in a way that readers can see; the sort of change they go through is entirely up to you. 

scrap the idea that someone has to deserve a redemption arc. They probably don’t deserve it, which is the whole point. So don’t be afraid to make your villains seem completely irredeemable. 

and you don’t need to redeem your antagonists in order to make them complex, sympathetic villains, anyway. Sometimes people get so stuck in their beliefs that they can’t see another way and it goes too far. Not everyone comes back from that. 

Also, motivations and goals can absolutely change. That’s okay. You just need to have something that drives your character so that your readers are rooting for them. 

Protagonists don’t need to be heroic. How you define the protagonists and antagonists in your story is based entirely on the morality in your story-world, NOT the moral ideas in the real world. What counts as a complex protagonist in a world torn apart by biological warfare will be very different than one living in our world. 

Prose & Grammar

simple prose is just fine and you don’t need to fluff it up for pretty quotes.

Remember to vary your sentence structures and length. Start smaller and build it up, drawing your reader’s attention. 

“And” and “But” are very valid sentence starters that are great for communicating the tone of internal narrative. You’re allowed to tweak grammar if that’s helpful for telling the story, it just needs to be accessible. Test out what you’ve written on other people. 

Check that your tenses are consistent!!

So since there were quiet a few people interested in being able to print their own, I prepared some of my files for you to save and use!

I also included a little Tutorial on how to make the most basic, simple and sad stickers with things you have at home!

All you require is paper, scissors and some regular tape.

Here are all the files, they are all individual ones so you can just save the ones you want and leave the others, don’t waste ink!

Also someone please kill tumblrs text post format, I tried doing this nicely 5 times now and I gave up, take this ugly post now. It will serve it’s purpose but I will get angry looking at it.

Also now to the tutorial, or more so some tipps:

1. Saving the files

I highly recommend to save them to: right click -> open in new tab. Tumblr displays in a really bad quality sometimes, this way you get the full resolution in which I uploaded. I use Google Chrome, but this should work with other browsers too.

2. Arrange them in any program like Word, GIMP, etc. 

Anywhere were you can freely move the files around, so you won’t just print one tiny thing per page.

3. Scaling

You can make the files a little bigger or smaller, just don’t overdo it as they will become pixalated or blurry, will look really ugly. The original sizes of these lil guys are approximately 4x4 cm.

So this is what mine looked at the end.

4. Printing

Okay, now for this, you can either print at home on regular printing paper, or if you want to be fancy you can use watercolour paper or glossy picture paper. This will also lead to more opaque results. JUST DON’T FORGET TO ADJUST YOUR PRINTERS SETTINGS.

If you want to be super fancy/ you don’t have a printer, you can get it professionally printed. For me a lot of drugsstores offer printing services actually and they aren’t really expensive either! You just have to life with the constant fear of what the service personal printing your shit will think of you. Good luck.

5. Yay, you have tiny dudes printed on paper!

6. Cut around them.

Just take some scissors and cut around your new friends. Leave a little white edge to make them look more like traditional stickers. DO NOT cut off their arms or heads. They will cry and so will I.

7. THAT AIN’T A STICKER

Okay. Calm down. Now for my nifty trick to be able to stick them to every surface you desire. Just take some regular tape and stick the ends together. BOOM. DOUBLE SIDED TAPE. Amazing right. Don’t let capitalism pressure you into buying more expensive double sided tape. Stick that onto their backs. BOOM. Stickers.

8. Stick them everywhere

Like your favourite plant. 

Your skull collection. [ This is Gunther-Heinrich, he was delicious. 15/20 would recommend red deer.]

Your fridge, preferable if you still live at home and your mum would absolutely appreciate you being a fucking creep.

Your shoes. Take them out for a walk.

I don’t know, you do you. Just have fun running from your mum since you emptied the printers’ ink cartridges.

ABSOLUTELY I CAN!! lets go through these questions one by one

1. are you a canucks fan?

WHAT a question. am i a canucks fan? am i? like, yes, but no, but obviously, but i wish i wasn’t, but i will never quit them. the thing about being part of a hockey family in canada is that you don’t really get a choice about being a fan of your Team, and also no one really considers themselves fans per se. if you are a part of a hockey family, watching hockey is something that is embedded in your blood and your rituals and the legacy of your forefathers... but i feel in a very different way then i’ve seen in american football families or etc?

i don’t know, maybe i’m wrong, but being part of a hockey family is really about solemnly, often miserably, sometimes joyously, watching hockey Together. it’s about false nationalism and having no collective identity as canadians and therefore constructing one around hockey customs and rituals and superstitions and rivalries. at least in my experience, it’s not at all about like... masculinity, or anger, or even really competitiveness. you don’t get mad when your team loses - you grit your teeth and you bear it and you talk about how the coach should be fired and you patiently wait until your team gets good again. and if you haven’t suffered - if your team has not been Terribly, Devastatingly Bad, if you have not Earned It, then you should not win and everyone hates you (hence why no one likes the vegas golden knights).

anyways, if being a fan means knowing everything about a team and feeling passionately when they win and feeling grateful that they give you something to talk about with your dad then yes i am a canucks fan!!!

2. what’s the deal with their history/narrative?

for this bit it is important to keep in mind the Big Hockey Thing i mentioned above, which is that all teams/fans must suffer, and only through suffering can you earn victory. this probably indicates something fucked up about us but that’s another conversation!

so here’s a quick breakdown of the past 10 years of canucks history:

in 2011, the canucks had assembled a Perfect Team. our stars were the sedins, a pair of extremely talented swedish redhead twins who were acquired through some trading magic. we had alex burrows, a talented french-canadian trash talker, ryan kesler, a talented asshole, chris higgins & mason raymond, two talented hot men, and several star defencemen. and in net, roberto luongo, who was a GREAT goalie but would get into his head and absolutely fall apart at a moment’s notice. this Perfect Team dramatically beat our Nemisis the chicago blackhawks in the first round and made it to the stanley cup finals for the first time since 1994... only to come face to face with the boston bruins. the bruins were a huge, mean team, and they beat the canucks to a pulp every game. the entire city was losing it. we were so close to the cup, so close!!! and nothing else matters but that cup!!! and then - game seven - as close as you could possibly be - luongo has a complete breakdown and the bruins win 4-0. every goal worse than the last. the city riots! it was really really bad! all of the grinning and bearing it went out the window. people were devastated.

but the canucks were still good! right! right? well, they were good enough to win the presidents trophy the next season (prize for most regular season wins, no one cares about it) but not good enough to avoid losing the first round in 5 games. and then getting swept the next year. and then not even making the playoff the year after that. the glory days were over.

and then... well. longtime coach alain vigneault gets the chop, and in his place, the canucks decide to hire john tortorella, a man noted for being.... um.... an abusive asshole!! his habits included: incessantly berating his players, both to their faces and to the media. getting into physical fights with other coaches. basing his coaching approach around punishment and cruelty. etc etc etc. he decides he hates roberto luongo (who had already been the victim of several years of vitriol from the entirety of vancouver media). in the 2014 heritage classic, he chooses to start the backup goalie eddie lack - two days later, luongo is traded.

and that’s that. the sedins retire. the playoffs wither into a far off pipe dream. the team cycles through a couple more coaches and management teams, and continues to resist a full rebuild. several prospects who are supposed to revitalize the team end up fading away.

and then! whats that on the horizon! in the 2017 draft, the canucks choose elias pettersson as their fifth overall pick. just a little boy from sweden (continuing the canucks longtime love affair with swedish players) who rocked the world of the U20 SHL with one of the greatest seasons in the history of the league. he’s skinny and tall and sweethearted, and his debut is thrilling. all of a sudden, the canucks are fun to watch again. they have energy! they have speed! they have nifty passes!

the team, which seemed so listless before, lights up around him. bo horvat is the new captain, a boyish but Very Serious little leader. brock boeser is the american hotshot with the prince charming hair and a great shot. jacob markstrom is the new goalie anchoring the team - one of the players the canucks got out of the luongo trade who developed into a MUCH better goalie than anyone thought he would!! and now, a new baby rookie, little quinn hughes, who despite his talent moves through the world with an expression of constant existential horror.

somehow, suddenly, the pieces fall into place!! the team is... fun?!! they hold the leads that they used to inevitably give up! they score the goals that used to miss! they WON A PLAYOFF SERIES!!

3. what makes the team interesting?

okay, that was all very much a hockey family account of the canucks, and now i will do my very best to think through what makes them fandom interesting.

Do you think video games exist in Hell if so who of the main characters would play them & what type of video games would they play

I can’t see a reason why there wouldn’t be video games in Hell. Especially since other forms of entertainment, like TV shows, have already been established. And I think some of the misfits would be really into video games and others not so much. 

As for what kind of video games each one would play, or if they would at all, that would be going more into headcanon territory than speculation but I love me some headcanons so let’s go.

Those that would.

Charlie: I think Charlie would be fascinated with video games, specifically if she got her hands on any that came from Earth. The girl was born and raised in hell, so I’m not sure if she’s ever gotten to see what Earth is like. Anything that can give her and insight into the world most of her people come from, all the different places there are, what they look like, what their cultures are like what people’s lives are like, what stories they have, she would just eat up. And especially with Vaggie by her side to tell her everything she wants to know about them, she would play as many of Earth’s video games as she can. But her absolute favorites would be anything by Disney and anything with something cute in it. Like the Kirby games and Animal Crossing.

Vaggie: I think Vaggie would like video games that have a good story, a unique art style, and clever world-building. Especially if they had a gothic style. Think Alice Into the Madness or Hollow Kight. She would also really like Batman Arkham Asylum, Arkham City and Arkham night. 

Angel Dust: Not many expect it, due to him being from the forties, but Angel actually finds video games to be a lot of fun and he plays them with Cherri all the time. He’s a little embarrassed to admit he only had a vague idea of what video games were until Chrerri introduced them to him properly. Before then, he just thought they were a kind of kids toy. But he’s very much acquainted with them now. He would like Bendy and the Ink Machine, because of the dark twist to the kind of cartoons he used to watch as a kid, and Cuphead would make him feel nice and nostalgic. He wishes there was a gay version of Huniepop or a less innocent version of Dream Daddy. If those exist um, he won’t be very productive for a while. Let’s just say that. 

Cherri: Girl is from the eighties. Video games were the best thing ever to her, back in the day. She still owns an NES and an Atari 2600, which she guards with her life, but she’s kept up to date with everything video game-related since her death. Now, she owns loads of consoles and has played hundreds of games. If she had to pick a favorite type of game, she would go with classic beat em up style type of games. One of the things she and Angie do the most when they hang out at her place is play a ton of multiplayer fighting games. Their favorite is Skullgirls and seeing Peacock and Parasoul duking it out is a common sight on Cherri’s screen, as they are Cherri and Angel’s main PCs. Cherri is also on this sort of journey to play all the NES and Atari games she didn’t get the chance to play because of her death and often, she takes Angel along for the ride. They played ET the Extra-Terrestrial once. They burnt it.

Nifty: Nifty would be ADDICTED to dating games. Obsessed wouldn’t even be the word.  

Crymini. Girl is a hardcore gamer. She be teabagging noobs in Call of Duty every day. It would be hard for her to pick a favorite genre or a favorite game because she plays everything except games that are “for pussys” even though she secretly plays Minecraft and would tear someone’s throat out before she admitted it but she loves action and survival games. Left For Dead, The Last of Us, GTA, Red Dead Redemption, the Borderlands series, Resident Evil, Assassins Creed. The list goes on and on because her collection is quite impressive. She’ll also go to arcades sometimes out of nostalgia. She’s destroyed everyone’s high scores in the one she goes to.   Baxter: Workaholic Baxter would probably never allow himself the time to play video games and even if he did, he’d probably thinking of other things he could be doing with his time. Not necessarily work-related things, but things he simply enjoys more. But I can still imagine him having one exception. I think Baxter could be one of those people who own a Nintendo DS simply to play brain training games. I think those would help him unwind.Those who wouldn’t;

Alastor: Its canon Alastor doesn’t understand modern technology at all. So he would probably just be utterly confused if you gave him a game console. He might enjoy watching other people play video games though. Specifically horror games. He would find them amusing.

Husk: Doesn’t give a fuck about video games. He sees them as “kids stuff." 

Sir Pentious: I think Sir Pentious would be more interested in how video game consoles work than video games themselves. He believes it’s important to stay up to date with the technology of the modern world. But he doesn’t have time to waste on such "mindless entertainment.” as video games. Hell isn’t going to take over itself.  Mimzy: Doesn’t like them all. She’s still mad at video games in general over Guitar Hero. Every time one of those games was released, her neighbors would be playing on those plastic instruments and blast rock music for months. Which she hates. She would honestly beat the shit out of whoever created Guitar Hero if she met them in real life. 

Katie Killjoy: Isn’t in the least bit interested in video games but she is glad that they exist. She’s made a lot of money from demonizing their existence. 

Tom Trench. Understands them as well as Trump understands equality. He can’t wrap his head around them at all. 

Yet despite all that, I can still picture Charlie and all her squad all trying to destroy each other in multiplayer games. Like Super Smash Bros, TF2, Overwatch and the game with the finishing moves they half wish they could enact on each other in real life, Mortal Combat. Like, this would be a regular thing they’d do together and it would always get super competitive and out of hand. It might even get the ones who don’t play video games that often to start playing them out of sheer determination to beat the good ones and get to be the smug ones for once. It would be oh so satisfying to beat them at their own game, literally. Although, didn’t Vivzie say that if Alastor thinks he’s losing at a game, he’ll take over it Jumanji style to make sure he wins? Yeah, I don’t think these would end well.

Yeah, after watching it collect dust for about two years now, and literally never having used it on a track, I decided it was time to part with what I believe to have been one of my most beloved nefarious devices. Kinda sad about it, but equally as sad to have let it sit unused in the corner for so damn long too. Letting a machine like that collect dust is probably punishable in the afterlife... but onwards and forward to greater things, we hope!

I also sold the AX73. The impetus behind this offloading of definitely not common, definitely good-sounding, but definitely limited analog gear was the definite near death of the screen on my MacBook Pro. I’ve been using a 15-inch Mid 2014 2.2 GHz i7 since 2014, when the screen on my last one started to go haywire. Oddly enough, the screen started to go bad on that one too. WTF. First it was a vertical, one-pixel wide line down the exact center of the screen, super noticeable on white backgrounds, sorta noticeable on dark ones. Then a few more lines showed up, but went away. Just what I need. So, instead of waiting for the thing to just decide nope, I ain’t working no more, I sold the aforementioned gear plus some little things and bought a 16-inch Late 2019 2.6GHz 6 core i7 refurb. It’s been a little hard getting used to this machine. Lower keys, much much bigger trackpad, fingerprint ID to log in, OLED bar across the top doohickey... And I’d been using Mojave but the new one came with Catalina so now I can’t watch YouTube without ads fucking everything up every two minutes it seems (AdBlock was working fine on the other one, WTF). The apps I was using also have undergone revamps and there’s a learning curve to deal with, which is annoying, but unavoidable. Anyway. First world problems, I know...

I’m selling off a few more pieces of gear as well, just extra stuff or duplicates of things, stuff I don’t use, like the Microfreak. That thing just does not wanna play nice in this condo. The power supply must be grounded or it won’t work right, even the manual says so, and though I ran a ground wire straight to the terminal on the outlets here that have one (most don’t here in Japan), I get so much noise that it isn’t funny, and it makes the synth unusable. So see ya. Disappointing. I also ended up with two SH-32s. . . . I saw them on the auction, bid on both thinking I’d get outbid on one or the other, ended up winning both of them, so I’ll clean the dirty one up and sell it soon. Very underrated synths actually. If you ignore the absolutely awful presets, it’s got a pretty powerful synth engine in there, with some nifty options in the oscillator section as far as waveforms are concerned. SoundSauca has made an absolutely stellar sound set for it, which I bought, you should get on YouTube and check it out. Really shows what the SH can do in capable hands.

And I ordered an Ambika with six Polivoks cards off eBay so we’ll see if that scratches the Polivoks itch, which I know I will be getting hit by really really soon here. Shame that I didn’t use the thing at all. Oh well. Hopefully the next owner will treat it nicely. That’s all I can hope for. And it’s something that I always hope when I sell gear. I’d hate to think that this stuff is going to be mistreated. Some people are assholes though. That’s all for now, folks.

Who Here Asked For Pictures of  “CASA DEL SHANIE”??

Nobody? Nobody at all? TOUGH!

Have some pictures of my freshly cleaned apartment because dammit it took a month to get it this way, I’m gonna show it off!

We start off with my primary figure shelf and entertainment stand. Notice the ass-old CRT TV. No it isn’t getting replaced anytime soon. I’ve showed off the figure setup already (I believe) but since they are really tiny here, I’ll just let you know that those bitty figures on top of the JVC Monstrosity are Japanese Final Fantasy X Coca-Cola figures. I can’t begin to afford full sized Final Fantasy ANYTHING!

Moving to the other side of that end of the living room, we have the giant Young Simba plush (If you get it, you get it, I’m not explaining), my line of Doctors (along the banister) and my precious sword, hung over a Doctor Who poster. That sword was the first sharp ‘n’ shiny I ever bought for myself. I was 15 and had to buy it though my boyfriend at the time since I was under age. It is, in fact, a women’s sword, but it’s for display only. It can’t cut for shit. There’s also a random Boxed GoT Dany figure there too. It’s the only GoT figure I have and it was a gift.

The pit on the left of the photo are the steps leading down. I live on the second floor.

My kitchen table. Nothing fancy here other than the plastic candelabra, some nifty bottles and some posters. That DW Six/Peri poster is not my only one of them (you’ll see) and yes, I do ship them. They are my guilty pleasure Classic Who ship. The grumpy one is soft for the whiny one. It’s a thing.

Also, two different Pokemon posters here. Oh, and that recycling bin? I yoinked that from my college dorm nearly 20 years ago, Had it ever since.

Wall of Shane and looking into the bedroom. I’ve shown off that wall before, but notice that the centerpiece is a poem. It’s “Footsteps” in case you were wondering. I am a Christian. Also, that sketched looking photo up top is Sarah Jane Smith. That wall used to be a Doctor Who tribute wall. I took down all the DW photos except her. And yes there’s a photo missing where the gap in the center of the photo is. It keeps coming out because I can’t pin the sides. The wood art was a gift from my high school sweetheart.That plush sunflower on the back wall was a gift from a lady at church. She was so nice. I miss her.

This is my kitchen. It is tiny and cramped and I hate everything about it except for my kettle and coffee maker.

Looking out of the bathroom door. Being an adult means nobody can bitch over the SpongeBob wood painting you have hanging on your wall. He brings me great joy. Best thing I ever bought from Hot Topic in my life. And he was on clearance!

Oh, and that’s my old besom hanging above it. There’s remnants of my pagan days all around my place. I just never got rid of the stuff.

You don’t get to see my bathroom because who the fuck wants to see the bathroom. Instead, have a look at my bathmat. Four dollars on Wish.

The one corner of my bedroom by the door. See, I told you there was another Six/Peri poster! Also, an Eleven/Amy/Rory poster. I’m proud of that one. i don’t think you can even buy that one anymore. Also, there’s another wood art, a Sherlock poster (don’t judge me) and a dollar store decorative fan.

The bookshelf is a random assortment. Except for the top two shelves which contain the entirety of my Classic Who DVD collection. I have a bunch of those, including some rare ones!

Oh, and the painting under Six and Peri was a Christmas gift from a friend. It reads “You Are Fearfully And Wonderfully Made”

MORE POSTERS! YES! I DO HAVE A SHANE O MAC POSTER!

For the record, that’s the second copy I have owned of that poster. The first one I got directly from a bar in college after the PPV. It hung in my dorm room until I went home on med leave and it got destroyed in the interim. So I had to rebuy it and, guess what, it just got hung today! 

Oh, and also, random Tenth Doctor poster there as well. The curtains are also new. 

Plus Lizzie. Lizzie says hi.

Finally, my Xena Wall. I want to put up more photos there but I just haven’t gotten to it yet. That bookshelf is my TV Series/Musicals/MCU bookshelf. I have almost all of the MCU films, all of Fringe, and almost all of NuWho on there. I’m missing the Season 12 set. 

Oh, and yes, that’s an entire setup of McMahon figures on top of the shelf. I just set those up yesterday. As you can see, there is plenty of room for more McMahon figures!

Oh, and the dreamcatcher was a gift. I have no idea if it’s native sourced or not. Try not to judge me for having it.

It just occurred to me I missed a wall. This is standing by my staircase looking toward the kitchen. Important notes here include another shot of SpongeBob, the Dark Willow photo top right, several Doctor Who postcards, a Star Trek Generations mini-poster, another witchy leftover, my glorious Kit Rae dagger (my FAVORITE sharp ‘n’ shiny), a M&M’s Gumball Machine, and finally, my last shelving unit that has Buffy, Xena, Star Wars, and my full McMahon Family Master Set. Also, yes that is a sconce on the wall. It was supposed to be for my keys, but I’m too disorganized to ever put them there.

Really though. I love that SpongeBob hanging. It’s awesome and he smiles at me every time I walk by.

Well, that about covers it. If you stuck through to the end, grats. I probably wouldn’t have. But I just feel like there’s so much fun stuff in my place that absolutely NOBODY ever gets to see. It’s mi casa and now es tu casa.

Okay, I know we still have the final to go, but given what we've seen so far what's everyone thinking about the Olympic roster? Who you think deserves to make it, who you want to make it, who is a definite no at this point, anything. Now, I basically know jack shit about soccer (I was a field hockey player, oops) but I definitely have some thoughts about who I want/think deserves to make it. 

Let's start with the front line, shall we? 

Christen Press. I mean, this one is obvious. In what universe does CP *not* make the roster? I'll tell you which universe - none. She's clearly having a moment, she's healthy, everyone loves her. She's in, signed, sealed, delivered. Put it on my grave.

Pinoe. Okay, okay, "she's only good on set pieces" people say. Yeah, and those are pretty important. And aside from last night's somewhat sub-par performance in that department, I think she's looked pretty damn good this tournament. Fit af. Plus there is something to be said for the leadership and experience the older players have to offer. I think the rest of the team respects her and values her, and she's super positive and supportive of everyone, which I love. As long as she stays healthy, she's in.

Heath. Whoo. Honestly, I don't think we got a good look at her, what with her limited minutes. But she's the nutmeg queen, she's great on corners, she's spicy, and she does that nifty little backheel thing. And again - experience. Definitely takes on a mentor role with some of the younger players. She's had some injuries going back to the end of the club season, but as far as I know they've been minor. I still cringe every time she gets fouled, but I think she'll be okay as long as Vlatko continues to be smart about managing her minutes until she's 100%.

AMorgs??? Okay, this one's loaded. I give her major props for continuing her training during pregnancy, and I 100% believe she has the drive to be match fit by July. That said, pregnancy and childbirth are unpredictable. If she ends up needing a c section (which I wish on nobody, fingers crossed for a nice, uncomplicated delivery) I don't think she'll be ready due to the recovery period. That is the only reason I hesitate to say she's going for sure but I am hoping for the best and want only good things for her.

Baby Mal??? I don't know. This is a tough one. As much as I miss her, I will admit to thinking (please don't kill me for this) that she looked kind of lost and unfocused in the friendlies last fall. She has the skills to be there, no doubt, it just seemed to me she wasn't connecting well with her teammates, wasn't anticipating where they would be, etc. But I love her and hope she works shit out.

Carlos??? She isn't starter material at this point. This tournament, for her, seemed to be about getting Carlos to the Olympics, not the USWNT. Not at her best, by a long shot, and unlike Pinoe I don't think the younger players really see her as a leader or mentor. Not gonna lie, I was rooting for her because I admire her drive and dedication to keep going, but she fell short here.

Now, I'm skipping ahead to goalies, because honestly that's the easiest.

Uncle Naeher. Biggest no-brainer along with Press. (Honestly...can anyone give me a valid reason for her not to start? I doubt it.) I think she proved both in international and club play last season that she deserves the starting spot. It's hers to lose, but she won't.

Ashlyn. I hesitate to say I'm 100% sure here, but it's a pretty good bet. Campbell or Bledsoe could sneak in there, but at this point I'm leaning towards not. We really didn't get a good look at where she is right now, what with there not being a whole lot of action on that end of the field, but apparently Vlatko likes her so I'm good with that.

Ugh. Now we have midfield and backs. Honestly the toughest spots to cut anyone because they're basically all looking rock solid. 

Rose. Why tf would you cut Rose? That's right, you wouldn't. She's had a solid tournament. Would have liked to see more of her, but benching her against Costa Rica was prob a good call, given her yellow card from the previous game. (Confession - sometimes I feel like she falls in the "looks like she could kill you; would actually kill you" category. Anyone else get this vibe? Not necessarily a bad thing…)

Lindsey. Honestly, I feel like sometimes she doesn't get the credit she deserves. Does she ever have a *bad* game? Even when she's not at her best, she's still The Pretty Good Horan. Solid as a rock. Great one-touch passes. Has perfected the art of the header. Awesome volleys. Just got her first international hat trick, yay! Looks cool, calm, and collected, but is capable of being absolute chaos on main (exhibit A: That Game™ vs Utah). Leaves no square inch untouched as she roams from box to box. Minus last season's concussion (and maybe a minor hamstring injury last fall where she missed a friendly? Am I right?) she's been healthy, which is more than I can say for several others, so there's also that. And she's the love of my life, so I will accept zero criticism on this one.

JJ. She's fast, she's feisty (and sometimes ultra spicy), she and Dunn are adorable bffs, she's a leader. I have nothing bad to say about her. But I'm still kinda salty that Chicago beat Portland in the semis so that's as nice as I'm gonna get. (No hate though, really, she's fantastic.) She needs to stop giving me heart attacks with the couple-pics-that-could-be-pregnancy-announcements, though. One USWNT baby at a time, thanks.

Sammy. Well, she got herself two braces so far in qualifying (okay, that one goal was highly questionable, but the ref said goal so goal it is), so she's definitely made a strong case for herself. She's tall. She's able and willing to catch The Great Horan (you know, because she's the only one taller than The Great Horan). She panics over being the first one on the bus. The only thing I don't like about her? She plays for NCC. But honestly she's adorable, really fucking good, and I love her so I can overlook that.

KO. Okay, I'll admit I was nervous. Her first couple games were a little shaky, she had a few pretty big goof-ups (but I mean when she whiffed that one time she had literally just recovered from a savage attempt at breaking her ankles so I can't even blame her for that) but her ankles were away at war for like 6 months so what do you expect? Last night she was in fine form. She brings a great energy to the game, connects well with Tobito, has the Stanny connection with CP and some cute, newfound friendship thing going on with Horan, and is basically the ultimate hype girl (when she's not being the ultimate frat daddy). When you need a bitch, she's your woman. And she's hot. Like, HOT hot. As long as the ankles hold up, she's gotta be on that roster. I am rooting for those ankles. Hard.

Sonnett. Really did herself a solid with the minutes she had. No complaints from me. Almost scored a goal, and I'm not counting it out in the final. Not afraid to break ankles. She's scrappy, spicy, saucy, a sit-down comedian, a soft smiler, and a package deal with Horan. She deserves the world. The world (or at least the USWNT and its fans) deserves her. Please don't cut her, Vlatko. I beg of you. (I'm not saying if you cut her, I'll cut you, but like...I'm not NOT saying it, either...)

Krieger. What do I need to say except she showed everyone why Jello was an idiot not to play her. She's a beast. And I really, really, really need the wives to both make it bc I will cry if one does and the other doesn't.

Dunn. I mean, have you seen her? She's all over the field. She almost scored during her 100th cap. I've never seen her have a bad game. Voted best dancer on the team. The only problem? See Sammy above. F'n NCC. She deserves better, dammit.

Dahlkemper. Okay, don't sue me, but I really don't have any feelings toward her either way. A lot of people love her. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about her (except this one time I saw someone roast her on IG for following Honkle, but that's her business I guess) so that's good enough for me. Also she's pretty and posts thirsty comments on her teammates pics so basically I stan a supportive Abby.

Broon. Cool as a cucumber. The voice of reason. A literal angel. Captain Becky never lets us down.

Okay. Now for who I don't think will/should make it. 

AD. This makes me really, really sad. I love AD. But she's the only player on the roster who didn't get any minutes, so I think that says exactly where she stands in Vlatko's eyes. It's a shame, because she's amazing, but it's super hard to choose between her and Ash.

Lynn. Clearly Vlatko sees something in her, and tried really hard to make it happen. It didn't happen. I was kind of rooting for her, just because everyone else seemed to be against her, but she just didn't seem to connect with the rest of the team. She's fast, I'll give her that, but it's not enough. 

Jmac. Another one I was rooting for just because everyone else was against her. She has talent, and when she's on she's great, but she wasn't connecting with the others. 

Moe. Nothing against her, just no compelling reason to cut anyone else for her. Injury-prone, which obviously isn't good.

Allie. See Moe, minus the injuries. Bonus points for social media content, though.

Baby T. No clue where she stands with the injury. If she's 100% I have absolutely no reason why she shouldn't be on the team, but I don't know who I'd cut to keep her. If she isn't 100% I'd rather she take the time to heal completely. I know it was reported that she'd be ready to resume training around February, but a while back she herself said she didn't think she'd be 100% by the Olympics so who tf knows. She's SO young and could have 2-3 Olympics (and World Cups) ahead of her so no need to risk a career-ending injury by rushing it. But if she IS ready I'm down for her being an alternate (or, heaven forbid, making roster in the event that anyone else is injured). I like Tierna. I want a long, successful career and only good things for her.

Player I selfishly just want on the team because I like her.

Midge. She was a Thorn, so maybe I'm a little biased, but she's good, she's young (but not *young* young and inexperienced), she's versatile. I like her. A lot.

I'm more than a little perturbed by people on the left applying no critical scrutiny to the russia narrative and never asking themselves who it benefits

There are two mentions of Russia in my post - one in the “is this a pigeon” meme and one in a quote from Vanity Fair. I made sure that I didn’t accuse anyone of being a Russian psyops blog because I have no proof of that.

What I do have proof of is a network of blogs with unusual posting behavior that share misinformation. The Vanity Fair mention of Russians was necessary because (even according to the articles you shared) the IRA was an organization in Russia (whether it was effective, organized, or successful doesn’t change the fact that it also included a network of 84 blogs on tumblr with unusual posting behavior that shared misinformation).

My concern is not that Russia is interfering with American politics - I am personally convinced that some level of international pot-stirring shit like this is and has always been in the background of our day-to-day lives.

My concern is that there is a network of blogs with unusual posting behavior that share misinformation and that deliberately target a largely young and black audience and these blogs post a lot of misinformation that seems calculated to increase racial division and intergenerational division and inculcates an attitude of helplessness.

After I reblogged my addition to it I got a nifty collection of racists to block because a bunch of shitheads got on the train and decided to say that *my* post proved that black bloggers were making up lies in order to make white people look bad.

White people *absolutely* point to things like the “original statue of liberty” post and say “see, they’re making us look bad, they lie about us, history isn’t that bad, I bet they’re making up lies about slavery too!” 

This is the same shit that radical feminists pull - they’ll say something ostensibly pro-women that’s pretty fucking harsh toward men like “The universal female experience is that all women know what it is to suffer under men” and women will go “OMG I know right” and men will go “Okay so feminists hate men, this is what I’m reading here, right?” and then women will go “see, it’s you saying things like this that make people hate men” and men will go “so it’s true! you’re admitting you hate men!” and it’s all a bunch of bullshit put together by a tiny subset of feminists who DO hate men and who are female separatists and it pollutes the entire discourse around gender equality and it’s fucking bullshit

So, yeah, this is a tool for division aimed at white people too that targets white people by making them uncomfortable and angry at black bloggers and makes them afraid of engaging on the subject of race. (Exactly the same way that radfems make men afraid to engage on the subject of gender)

Do you know how long I sat on my post because I didn’t want to be That White Person calling out black bloggers for criticizing white supremacy? I’m not criticizing people calling out white supremacy, I’m criticizing a network dedicated to spreading misinformation, and I’m still That White Person to a lot of people right now.

But, Babydoll, I gotta say - “outsiders getting people riled up to go to a manufactured protest where there’s a possibility of violence and police are going to be focused on arresting anarchists” reminds me of a totally different conspiracy that I’m also super-duper not cool with.
