Once again, I apologize for the wait! It took me a while to get the family designs under my hands...

Joker and Punch's parents, Wild and Recipe Carder! Wild's a former NRC student (and Heartslabyul vice-housewarden) who spent several years heading up a blastcycle gang and making music, and then gave up that life to follow a pretty little rising chef around until she finally agreed to date him. Recipe is a non-mage, but Wild says she's all the magic that he needs. She runs one of the largest cooking schools in the Queendom of Roses, and her former students are like a Who's Who of the culinary world.

Matriarch of the Sealponte family, current head of Sealponte Cinemas, and the woman who singlehandedly raised Sia and Mia, Grandmother Sealponte is an intimidating woman. Her sharp business sense has helped the family fortune to stay impressive, and she has instilled a sense of strength and responsibility into her granddaughters. She does have a soft side that only the girls get to see regularly, but for the most part, she's an efficient and businesslike person, smart as a whip.

He’d been staring for close to five minutes now, squinting suspiciously at Eddie’s shirt, and Eddie was getting tired of it.

“Can I help you?” He asked. He meant for it to come out nicer, but, well, the guy had been staring for a while.

The man shifted and blinked, surprised, as if he hadn’t realized he’d been staring at Eddie’s shirt. “Oh,” he says. “Sorry. Um. I’m just trying to figure out- your shirt. It says Deets, Beers, and… I can’t make out those last two words.”

Eddie frowns. Looks down at his shirt, then chuckles. “Oh,” he said. “It, uh. It’s not deets and beers.”

“Oh.” The guy grimaced. “Sorry, man.”

“No, it’s fine,” Eddie said. “You ever seen The Office?”

The man rolls his eyes, and now that Eddie’s not blinded by annoyance, he can fully appreciate just how pretty the man is. “What, does something like this happen in the show?”

Eddie chuckles. “Not exactly. My shirt, it says beets, bears, battlestar galactica. It’s a reference to the show.”

The man’s mouth makes a small o. “I see.” He suddenly looks sheepish. “Um. Sorry for staring.”

Eddie grins and shrugs. “Wanna play a game?”

The man blinks at him, then chuckles and shakes his head. “Sure, man, why the hell not.” He extends a hand to Eddie. “Steve.”

“Oh, perfect!” Eddie exclaims, shaking Steve’s hand. “Now I can stop calling you pretty stranger. I’m Eddie.”

Steve grins back, even as a blush erupts over his cheeks. “Guess I’ll have to stop calling you hot guy, then.”

Eddie burst out laughing. “I like you,” he says, sticking out a hand to shake. “Twenty questions, rapid-fire, ready?”

Steve blinks. “Um. Sure?”

“Favorite smell.”

“Hmm, garlic and onions cooking.”

“Favorite color.”

“Yellow.” Eddie eyes Steve’s yellow t-shirt, and Steve shrugs helplessly.

“Favorite animal.”

“Jellyfish.”

“The fuck,” Eddie says, intrigued, then, “Favorite sight.”

“Starlight.”

“Damn, Stevie,” Eddie says, delighted. “Okay. You win. You’re officially the most interesting person in the room.”

Steve laughs. “I’m not sure that’s how you play twenty questions.”

“Oh, yeah? Would you like to show me how, then?”

“Okay,” Steve says, and leans in. “First question. Wanna get out of here?”

Eddie grins and leans in just as far. “Lead the way.”

secret: What's one secret your OC never wants anyone to know about them? Answering for Arthur because I actually really like this question for him: he never wants anyone to know that he is the only living creature that knows what happened when the ship went down. He doesn't want Warren to know that he watched her father's death. That he started looking after her to fulfill a promise to a dead man, and only after spending time with her actually developed a fondness that has outweighed that initial purpose. He intends to take this knowledge to the grave with him (and Florence, and Elliott, and Elliott's former almost brother-in-law, who are the only people who know the truth, and have been sworn to secrecy)

nightmare: What does your OC have nightmares about? How do they deal with their nightmares? Do they tell people, or keep it to themself? Answering for Elliott: he has nightmares often of dying at zee, especially after his close call. The feeling of frigid water submerging him, of hands clawing at his feet, his legs, his hair, whatever they can possibly gain purchase on, trying to drag him down with them. He can't help but wonder if the hands he's violently kicking away from himself are those of drownies, or of his fellow crewmen. He's terrified that he shoves them away regardless, consumed with the soul deep desire to live because he's too much of a coward to die like he should. He wakes with a strangled shout of panic, clawing the blankets off of himself and drenched in cold sweat, and apologizes hoarsely to his lover if he's in bed with him that he's so sorry for waking him (yes. It was the dream again. Go back to sleep, he's just...going to go read. Work on the mending. Something out of bed to occupy himself)

monster: Is your OC monstrous in any way? Is there something that makes them monstrous? Are they aware of their own monstrosity? Do they accept it or reject it? Answering for Doc: being as he's a devil, he is inherently, by nature, monstrous, but even if he wasn't, I think he'd choose to be a monster. He's well aware of it, and makes absolutely no effort to change this about himself. A bee is going to sting. A wild dog to bite. He is going to do what he does, and there will not be any guilt about it. Hell rewards monstrosity, and though he doesn't care about Hell, he does care about winning, and he doesn't intend to play any game that he isn't going to come out on top by any means necessary

hunt: Who or what is your OC hunted by? A person, a feeling, a past mistake? Is your OC able to let their guard down, or are they constantly alert? Answering for Florence: she is on the run from...everybody, really. When you dabble in as many different illegal practices as she does, you're obviously on the wrong side of the coppers, but also being a blackmailer makes one no friends but many enemies, and being a smuggler puts her in competition with everybody else in that arena. Former lovers, victims of her theft, victims of other crimes; she's always on the run. More than just legally, though, she is a woman who is always on the run from the idea of ever being hurt again. She is haunted by the spectre of her husband's death, and the raw ugly pain that comes from being widowed as a young mother and everything you worked for and dreamed of slipping through your fingers. She is never going to be hurt again, and that's a promise and a THREAT

Uncommon Questions for OCs and Their Creators

4 - How easy is it to earn their trust?

Superficially? Very easy. She won't question or doubt people's intentions if there's no reason to (yet, vibes do count as a reason -- for instance, she wouldn't mistreat Gilbert, but she would be wary of him). However, she does keep a safe distance in any case, and complete trust is something she builds over time. She only opens up fully when she feels 100% safe and comfortable with the person.

5 - How easy is it to earn their mistrust?

As I mentioned earlier, vibes or intuition might make her cautious about trusting someone. However, beyond that, she would need firsthand evidence of someone's wrongdoing or proof of it to lose her trust.

17 - Are they easily embarrassed?

Yes. Not as easily as Nice Keith, but she is.

B - What inspired you to create them?

I wanted a pagan Jade, or at least a part of it, considering Keith's crest and Jade's strong agricultural and nature connections. I wished to see Keith involved in this context in a way (cough fertility ritual cough) and creating an OC priestess seemed like the perfect way to complement this idea.

C - Did you have trouble figuring out where they fit in their own story?

Not so much for the AU, but I'm still figuring out how to write her story in a more canon compliant IkePri universe. It's not that the AU is completely different from canon, it's just that there are some details I still have to give attention to (but writer's block is being a bitch).

texture: Does your OC favor any specific kinds of cloth or textures? Is there anything they can't wear or don't like? What sort of fabrics do they prefer?

[OC Asks: Character Design Edition] Does Marlowe favor any specific kind of cloth or texture? Not really! It can be a coinflip for her between caring more on what the clothing actually looks like versus how it feels on her skin or how it actually fits on her figure. She will refuse much that doesn't cater to her idea of freedom of choice, meaning that she will just as easily wear something uncomfortable or restrictive as she would something sheer or free-flowing as long as it is of her choosing, finding pleasure in either. Her poor attitude laced with childish rebellion can make her difficult to deal with in this regard for those that have the joy, rejecting practical things or suggestions just to butt heads with someone in order to be obnoxious. With formal wear her normally modest fashion can flip to entirely immodest if her fickle mood decided on it for it that day. When given the bait of 'you will wear this or nothing at all', she would be the sort to bite. Allowing companions to choose how she presents herself is a gift (so she would say), and will occasionally offer them the option to do so for her. In general, though, she wears a few layers of clothing regardless of weather that would often protect her from anything too scratchy like wool. Petticoats, chemises, slips etc. over her undergarments, light long sleeves for protection from the sun and heavy coats from the cold is the norm. It's something she struggles over with her fondness of the heat and sunshine, and it is not uncommon to find her sunburned or sick with sunlight syndrome from running about like the village harlot in warmer climates.

Is there anything she can't wear or doesn't like? What fabrics does she prefer? She would say no, that she could wear anything, especially if someone tells her she can't. However, she does have a preference for simple linen or cotton, specifically dresses or skirts. Easy to move in, easy to clean, and easy to slip up over her knees. Sometimes she might say she would like a silk dress with sheer, tulle sleeves, stitched with vibrant florals and fit around her waist with colorful beads, or a fine pair of fitted trousers that nicely match an equally fine pair of high buckled boots, while other times she may say she wishes she could go about wearing nothing at all except the crumbs of fancy treats that a lover or two might have fed to her.

He was one of the few fae to leave Briar Valley on a regular basis, and would spend part of each year monitoring diurnal fae in the northern part of the Queendom of Roses, where Nana got a chance to become friends with her Girl, Violetta!
