maya is still banned from doing big business things on social media while she takes time to rest and detoxify from the poison that is running social media full time for ten years. everybody clap! yay!

i'm here to share some info on our button-up shirt and dress preorders!

as many of you already know, i lost my anti-preorder campaign due to the high minimum per design. there's been some confusion and uncertainty. carsyn's doing her best but preorders are overwhelming and i have some time today

SO TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS:

how close are you to hitting the minimum goal for the button-up shirts and dresses?

not close lol. as of 4/26 we're at about 8% funded. i refuse to panic until after may 3rd

why the funeral design?

the funeral design won our design poll

initially we were going to run preorders for two designs: funeral as well as astronauts. when we got news that the minimum would be 400 garments per design (we're able to spread that across the button-up shirts and dresses) we decided to cut back to one design. we're really not big enough to expect 800 orders on an $80-90 item

why not another design?

what would have been chosen other than funeral or astronaut?

deadly florals, hiss from a rose, microorganisms, and hands were all the top placers in the design poll after funeral

can you do solid color?

yes

why didn't you do solid color?

you can buy a solid color button-up shirt or dress from anywhere. the plan has always been to introduce these garments in solid color after their initial introduction

...so can you do solid color?

we will consider doing solid color preorders if these preorders bomb

how much would solid color cost?

probably the same. it's not much cheaper. it's faster to make tho

how much would the ecovero viscose cost instead of cotton?

maybe like $10 cheaper

it's really soft tbh but it's a different weave from the viscose for the skirts. it's my number one fabric for the button-ups but alas the cotton fandom won for now

what happens if preorders bomb?

we cancel and refund all preorders.

maybe we'll try again with a different design or with fewer features after we have some time to decompress from the nightmare that is running preorders (can you tell i hate preorders). if they bomb bad enough we may completely nix patterned button-up shirts and dresses. we don't know yet!

does that affect the picnic top?

the picnic top is completely separate. since it's made out of a different fabric it has its own minimum, so it will not be affected by button-up shirt and dress preorders

and like, to be totally honest, it's way cheaper to produce. we can eat some of the cost and just make them. they're small enough to store easily and they're at a lower price point so we can expect to sell them after we receive them, like the wrap tops

btw, we have other ready-to-ship things already in production. we've been working on a whole secret project. surprise!

why did you launch preorders for the button-up shirt/dress at the same time as the picnic top?

the picnic top sample came in with the button-up dress sample and it needed very little alteration. also maya liked it. also we may be developing an entire line inspired by the picnic top so keep an eye out for that next spring

why is the new button-up shirt more expensive than the old button-up shirt?

it's more expensive to make

why is it more expensive to make?

this is a different factory from the one we used before. it's more expensive because they pay their staff a higher wage and likely have other costs

this is a different fabric from the one we used before. it's a stretch cotton with a GOTS certification

this is imported from a different country from the one we used before. turkey has much higher import fees to the US

what is a GOTS certification?

the short version is the fabric itself is more environmentally friendly and produced with more fair labor practices than standard cotton

we're working on it. it probably won't lower prices tho, since fulfillment centers also cost money

none of this is to shame someone for not preordering. groceries are expensive and things are tight, plus it kinda sucks to spend on a tight budget and not get what you ordered for a few months

i think there's a lot of surprise since we've never done preorders on a single design before, and that's fair! we debated on doing a kickstarter but a) i hate doing kickstarters b) kickstarter takes a percentage of sales and our profit margin on these is already lower than we'd like it to be

So yeah this was a ridiculous project about "identity" and so I made my life incredibly complicated by shooting the entire thing in stop motion on a green screen w/ each individual matchbox as a green screen as well. Then animated a million little boxes by hand. Then Added in some 3d stuff bec presumably i'm doing this master's in 3d motion design.

the major success was finishing this without hating the song bec of how many times i had to listen to it while syncing everything up.

Sorry if it doesn't have that much yandere as you were hoping for.

Okay, so, the only way I can see that you could've gotten his attention is either you're related to one of the three human charges – family or friend. Because of that, you don't know about the Autobots and Decepticons.

Soundwave was given the mission to find out more about the human pets, through humans that are close to them. Out of all of their family and friends, he chose you.

He only went through some of your info, and you're a friend of Miko's host parents that lives in a state up north, in Gravity Falls, Oregon (Yes, I'm making a little crossover with GF, but TFP came out 2 years before Gravity Falls existed, so Weirdmageddon hasn't happened yet, nor have the Pine Twins visited yet.)

You've met Miko a few times when you've came to visit, and it's best to say you don't like how loud, irresponsible, foolish, and doesn't understand people's boundaries. You were a rather quiet introverted person, and she was an overbearing extrovert, so you two didn't mix well.

When it was Christmas last year, they were at your family gathering, and she almost got your cousins hurt with firecrackers, who were mainly toddlers and young children. She even said, quote-unquote, that "They needed to live a little and not have helicopter parents deciding everything for them." The thing was that your aunts and uncles weren't helicopter parents, they were normal, calm, and understanding parents!

Miko was one of the main reasons why you lost faith in humanity, and you despised her with a burning passion. You even told this to her in her face, but she would say that you're just grumpy and should take a nap. As if you were a little child that didn't know better!

You work as an online artist that takes request for people who can't draw certain things like, animals, details, DND characters, Oc's etc.

As time went on, he was starting to get obsessed with learning more about you, and he knows more about you than anyone else you know in your life. Your favorite animal are birds, your favorite color is d/s/f/c (Dark Shade of Favorite Color), you hate people, don't like talking, have a pet European Starling named Jermey, after the crow in the Secret of Nimh because of his love for shiny and sparkly things, who is also the model for your watermarks on your designs, you like dying your hair, and so much more.

You were having a normal day, doing a live stream as you were taking requests from your viewers, when this one person in particular to do a city made out of metal, the people are robots that can transform, and even gave you an image that they "made" that was called Kaon. Interested, you took up this challenge.

It was safe to say that Soundwave wasn't disappointed with the end results of it; It looked magnificent. The image of his home was nostalgic of the good old days of Cybertron, when it wasn't just him and Laserbeak, when all of his children minicons were still alive.

The two of you kept in contact and became friends on the internet. You would tell each other about how your days went; you were told that he works as one of the higher ups in a company, has to deal with an annoying, loud, arrogant assistant of his boss – reminds you of a certain someone –, has a pet bird, is introverted, doesn't talk, doesn't like humanity- you're already hooked.

You turned a blind eye to things, like how he somehow knows where you live, find out about private accounts on social media, knows that you're talking to someone even when there's barely any people around, kind of seeming jealous/overprotective over text. The hardest one to do is when someone insults or steals your art, only to end up severely or lightly wounded somewhere between the next day to the end of the week, saying that a robot version of Slenderman or a metal bird that has an origami themed shape, etc.

There were a few things that caught your attention. How he uses the wrong terminology for things such as units time, parts of the body, even saying organics, fleshies, humans instead of people or others by their names. You were suspicious but brushed it off every time it happens.

At the beginning of Soundwave's his sire growing obsession, Laserbeak didn't even understand what was so great about you. But it changed when he was shot down by Autobots and landed out in the woods, you found him, and repaired him. During his stay, he made friends with Jeremy, and during repairs, you were gentle as you could be when fixing him up, your touched were light, you asked if what you were doing was alright, and he honestly thought of those human films where the mother would help their child when they get an injury. In this situation, he was your the child, and you were his the mother; he understood now.

Knowing Laserbeak's existence was the reason why it was a little hard to turn a blind eye to those that were injured.

When Laserbeak returned, he gave the information to Soundwave, and that's when Soundwave knew that you were the one to complete the family.

When the both of you actually met face-to-face is when you texted him that an ex of yours came back is so persistent on getting back together and won't leave you alone. When it was night, your ex cornered you, and was ranting on and on about how you should be grateful that he's giving you a second chance, even though you were the one to break up with him, only to end up dead on the pavement. You looked up to see Soundwave himself.

The first thought that came to mind didn't revolve around fear. No! It was 'Oh, god, he looks hot-'

So, you were taken aboard the Nemesis, you became a part of the Con Crew. 1.) Because you're close, in a way, to one of the Autobot's human pets; 2.) You hated humans just as much as they did; 3.) It's Soundwave. Megatron trusts him with any decision of his. A reason Soundwave gave, in public? A human to spy on the Autobots- Shut the fuck up random Vehicon, this is a human spy, not Makeshift. This isn't like Starscream's plan.

This happened only a day after Optimus Prime became Orion Pax. Soundwave had a feeling that something might happen, so he had you wear something that will cover up everything, mainly your head/face. He knows the archivist is smart, and if he were to revert back to Optimus, then he would recognize who you are.

Often times, some Vehicons would make comments about a human joining the ranks, or try to get rid of you, and they were met with an electric end.

It was only about a week later, after Orion became Optimus again, when they decided how they were going to get you in their base, and with the help of the newly arrived Dreadwing, they can do just that.

this feels like such a trivial thing to complain about bc i love shiro amano and his art and the fresh perspective he brings to the series

but i miss when he allowed his personal style to shine through more in his manga adaptations. his more recent work often just feels like rote redraws of the games

But from when he was 11, he has improved majorly)

Would love to marry his boyfriend one day so they could work his small little business together, Mali would be an awesome model for his creative fits

Ok I'm done with this guy now, hoping I'll draw him more later on.. Haven't really drawn Winnie so much since I did his ref and that sucks, cuz he's a very nice OC.. Nothing overall dramatic, something more down to earth and more close to "reality" in a sense (minus the demon boyfriend thing)

So it's nice kinda having OCs from time to time that are just on the chill side of the character making spectrum!

Anyways I'm done for now... More later since I'm only working 4 hours today instead of the usual, so I'll have some time to do more drawing when I get back before another busy 8 hours tomorrow..

And on the right is a complete mask that I got so many compliments on once people found out I made it I wore it for Halloween I kid you not I could barely see anything because of the snout.

#i always forget how much I like teenage mutant ninja turtles until I get started again #I saw clips of the new movie from animators that worked on it on twitter and YouTube and it made me curious and god. #I remember I judged that show based on the designs and the way they drew master splinter but it’s actually pretty good?? #I actually really liked some of the changes they made #putting splinter’s character arc of learning to be at peace with his past in the show was surprisingly fulfilling #he’s not like the past iterations of splinter at all but there’s something compelling about what they chose to do with him #you just. have to get through the first few episodes where he’s at his lowest #also I kind of like what they did with Leo in the newest show #and moving Raphael away from the trope of ‘big angry brute’ but designing him like that was a surprising trope inversion #i just like the way they did the turtles’ personalities in this one. they’re goofy brothers that kick ass! #also the show instantly shot forward in respect from me #bc one of the show writers basically canonized that at the very least Donny and Mikey are on the spectrum #and unlike most shows w an autistic smart character they actually write Donny pretty well in that context #also instantly like it a ton bc April is a cool member of the gang again and not a damsel in distress or uncomfortable love plot device #also she’s a black girl now and it’s fucking awesome #I hate the amount of racists that pop up everytime she’s even referred to online though :/ #this April seems like the best one I’ve ever seen tbh she meshes with the rest of the main cast extremely well

Oh the indescribable feeling of dread after you get exactly what you're asked for

I've always had a history with rhythm games. I played Love! Live on and off for about 3ish years which is what sparked my interest for them.

Honestly what got me into Project Sekai just has to be the crazy timing of events that came before it. November of 2020 I started playing rhythm games casually again (Persona dancing games which is embarassing to admit but it's my favorite game series, as well as Muse Dash and a couple of other PC games). Which led to my older sibling also having their interest in rhythm games sparked again. They always really loved vocaloid but at that point I still had no idea what it was and only really knew Hatsune Miku's name.

Feburary of 2021 they introduced me to vocaloid as they planned on finally getting Project Diva and thought I may enjoy it as well (and I did!) although I had my interest particularly sparked by 2 songs MioDioDavinci's Rotten Hersey and Chocolate cover with Kyo and Tora's cover of Patchwork Staccato with Kaito.

Then I started to play Project Diva and I loved Kaito and his songs, I can't count how many times I've played Cantarella or Snowman. This led to me going down my own vocaloid rabbit hole where I saw the Japanese Project Sekai ad for the first time. It looked super cool, but at the time I didn't know how to use a vpn or other services to play games from overseas, so I was devastated to hear it was probably never going global.

To my surprise, I ended up seeing an english ad for it about 3 months later. I was /estatic/. I managed to actually catch the beta and was in the beta for the last two weeks or so. To be totally honest, I didn't know anything about the actual characters but I told myself "whichever group has Kaito will be the group I choose".

Although now I play more competitively and focus a lot on the meta, it's still just a series of coincidences that I even found out about it before it's release and that it led me to Wonderlands x Showtime at all.

I ended up joining the fandom because, as my older sibling could tell you, I was absolutely insufferable about it. Some other things happened, but eventually I thought it'd be easier to just have my own little space for talking about it.
