Progress report ! ૮ ºﻌºა ✨ kind of a work-in-progress diary for myself. v indulgent.
intense world of dick terrifying - goin good! got a main character, some supporting characters, figuring out the big rivalry today. Gotta figure out a format. I was thinking of basing it off of the Day at the Airport book bc it's only about 11 spreads but there's a lot going on on each one. Could leave it a comic but I also want it to be printable hmm catnips cantrips chooseyer-by-mail test - learning a lot! the world-building has been reallllllly fun - like the kind of fun where you want to go a little deeper bc you like it not bc you have to. perfect situation. Gotta resolve the mix between the DM roleplay and the actual postcards. Made and branded a whole gmail account and character to handle lost postcards - Pizza Kentucky III of the Isekai Post Office. Haven't been keeping up with the blog. But the blog is supposed to be more of a holding container than a 'thing'. One thing I did not expect to be learning was spreadsheets. Keeping track of names and addresses and choices and paths has given me a new perspective on pacing and structure. Also? Been a great excuse to finally play with UV epoxy and it's so straightforward that I'm mad it took me so long. media thats not just webcomics - dunmeshi is out!!! Laios my beloved. Still afraid to find and read Kotteri's Veil bc it will make me too feelings. Started reading books I loved as a kid (Redwall!!!) and some story craft books (found an NPR list somewhere) WRHP s2 - started to feel like work but changing up the backgrounds freed me up, feels fun again Sorcerer comic - paused while I wait for fashion inspiration to pull the ending together Emotional support paladin - paused till I feel like it. It's got such a specific delivery style that I don't wanna force to get the story out, so i gotta wait for some story aspects to firm up Bonnie & Clawd - more of a character study than a comic - fun to practice cutie pies cuddling. But... how DO birds and wolves smooch. Saw a youtube video about how ravens and wolves are friends and work together. So perfect. Valentines day thing - got some supplies coming tomorrow, gonna try out my idea. If it works maybe sell it? If it doesn't work, oh well, probably will learn something. Wanted to make perforated cards and stickers but got a little overwhelmed thinking about printing. Might just do a digital thing if an idea comes to me. Been wanting to make holographic stickers but when I sit down to think of a motif it feels stressful. Maybe I just test the Poodle Broadcasting System logo? I've always loved the aesthetic of valentines day but never felt like it's been delivered right. I certainly never felt indulged - something is always a little not-cute or too-cutesy. Think it could be really fun to have it be an annual 'surprise box'. I lost my halloween fam in the schmivorce so I could use a holiday to go crazy on. (For years I would drive out and help build a whole haunted house in a garage and it was like a week-long party with great food and movies and laughs. Sad to lose it, sadder still to know it was so easy for them to lose me. ) Dishupon - ok not as many players and responses as I'd hoped. But that wasn't really the point. Point was to invent some sanrio-y characters for fun - which i did. And I will also say that the exercise of coming up with a variety of cozy, fun, silly, spicy ways to think about dishes has made MY dishes mostly effortless. Even made a little foam clay Tiger coach and he's sitting on the window above the sink. Perhaps I will think of a game to get my car inspection done.
Overall January is great. Granted, it's the 4th. Had my ten year work anniversary (idk how old everyone thinks I am but it's Not 20) and got to 1010 followers on twitter on the same day. And the new d20 is out on the 10th so that felt real nice and square. Bit worried that all the good vibes I built up over holiday vacay will get smashed when I'm put on a new work project. But i feel like I'm about to level up a little bit art-style wise. Feelin grateful, feelin warm & cozy

A question for the mun; May I ask what are your favorite trolls in the ftc as a whole?
Oh geez, I feel like this is always changing for me because I keep getting to know amazing new people and amazing new characters. I think I'll just name a few blogs and list my favorites from there, as I don't think I can pick out of the entire community when it's full of people I also don't know or haven't interacted with (yet!).
Quite a few of them belong to my partner @mageofspacemultiverse as I've known those the longest and have quite a few ships between us. A few of my favorite characters from him are Zomson, Hidelord, Devaron, and Pixcel. Each character of his is unique and has interesting backstories and personality, and yet every one of them is so on-brand for his blog.
From @thestarlightbrigade I have always adored Deltra and MY LIL MAN HIBUKI. Special shout out to Iiboye too. Lots of edgy angsty characters but each one is a specific flavor that never gets tiring. Avery's vibe is I'm shaking him by the shoulders and biting him affectionately. That is to say, he's a fun guy and silly to talk to. Prepare to get cat-gif'd.
@stuckstucktrolls I thirsted after Viktor since day 1 bruh. He's the Troll I am most familiar with besides Teagan. Creative characters and also very pretty, the lot of them. Cool cat boy cryptid gets the seal of approval from royal moth cryptid.
@goddesstrolls Kairos and Kairne. Ik Kairne isn't on the blog anymore but I thought he was pretty damn neat tbh. One of the first characters I knew Bast by. Also um... my (ex)wife Akidis, I love her to bits and pieces, and my male-wife Darvai. Buff women and bastard men run this blog, and all the world build and narratives Bast has come up with over the years are SO -chefs kiss- .
@miks-fantrolls Antemh <3 Sticking him under a microscope fr. I don't know a lot about anyone else, but maybe that'll change sometime. I don't know a lot about Mik but I personally think he's cool af. Mik if you're reading this I'm staring at you with wet pathetic eyes and offering you an egg in these trying times.
@roetrolls Veylin <3 She makes my heart happy. Also Franky, I would give him the world. Mallum is up there, too. Roe makes a lot of characters that are compelling, friend-shaped, and possesses you with the Funny Horrors (aka I can't stop laughing every time I see 'Dominion' on a street sign or pub. Like, it's the kind of joy that's like 'I know that guy! That guy belongs to this really cool person that I look up to! How silly that he has a bar named after him!' )
@sasster ...................... Redivi.................. Look, one could argue and say it's because he's a vampire and I'm absolutely a vampire simp 100%. But. But he's *terrifying* and that's a big reason why he's a favorite Chase Troll of mine. Compelling, scary, but recognizable as people we may know in our every day lives. An ever so loved face and name, but there's always something behind the scenes that we can't see. There's a performance for the world, while on back stage the true colors show. Mind you, I am extremely behind in the lore of the blog, but that guy? Man. That guy.
@windy-trickster -slaps the top of this guy's blog- This blog can fit so many funky lil dudes filled with unique lore and fantastic personalities and oh my god the angst. My favorites among them are Doleos, Rastho, and Althor. Windy is a creative writer and puts SO much love into his characters. Like for real, it's always a pleasure listening to him talk about them. It's clear he puts in a lot of love and effort into his guys, and I think y'all should go and see that for yourself.
@askthehiddencaste Shuska and Ashoal. I feel like Shuska is the face of the blog (i mean, the entire theme is a library, so), and she's such a charming character. Warm, friendly, but she's STRONG in spirit. Ashoal and Shuska are the two I'm most familiar with aside from Heliel (I want that goopy man carnally). Kanny has a lot of fascinating characters that all feel like a natural family to me. I could hang out with their characters and feel right at home.
@experimental-failures The only one I'm familiar with is Nix, so I guess he's my favorite by proxy-- BUT! I've always thought Nix was very neat. He feels like a guy I can run into out on the street irl. He feels so real to me, and it's always a pleasure.
@the-rainbow-overflow Elnric and Viroxa. Two very interesting characters for vastly different reasons, lol! I love the alternate timeline stuff Elnric has going on, and I feel soft for this guy mostly because it's the first Troll I knew Dusk by. Viroxa is... oh boy, god damn, a bastard? Such a manipulative and cunning guy where the ends justify the means, and I am OBSESSED. Bonus points that he's a scientist guy, ya know? We all love unhinged scientists. Kissing him on the cheek even if he may take my lips as donation and sew it onto someone else. Special mention to Makona as well, I am unwell about HISStory of Violence <3
@trollbreak Um, Bladed, teehee -twirls hair- Jonah has SOOO many lil guys. Silly lil guys! Some of these silly lil guys commit murder and treason! Some of them will give you plushies and Autism Creature stare at you as a means of friendship. Heehoo is my ultimate favorite, and Bladed is close second, but I adore Jonah and all of their characters.
@clown-fuckers-r-us Montague!!!! MONTAGUE!!!! MY BELOVED!!! CRYING WEEPING AAAAAAAA-- ahem. So um Montague is my favorite, he's so cool? I'm so invested in his story and not just because I have a ship going with that guy but his concept is so intresting??? A Purple with anger issues, rich and privileged but kind and loving-- now ruined by a broken mind and psyche, his one scrap of salvation that keeps him from fully losing himself being the memory of a lover that he hasn't seen since before the war on Limebloods... You should definitely go share some love with Bun, the mun of the blog; she's an AMAZING person, truly a wonderful friend, and one of the most nicest people I know.
@moonlit-trolls Tythus by far. It's been SO neat seeing Tythus grow and develop as a character. Moona and I made Ptillo and Tythus together, and while Tythus had some shaky beginnings as Moona was figuring him out, it definitely solidified and paid off in the end. Tythus is a compelling villain imo with complex goals and ambitions. Not to mention what a SILVER FOX HE IS GOD DAMN. You go girl, make that man hot and pathetic <3
I'm running out of steam for this post; if you're not listed on here it doesn't mean I don't have favorites or that I don't like you. There's A LOT of trolls to keep track of in the community and a lot of members too. Everyone has such amazing characters that I cannot possibly list them all off. Keep doing what you're doing, and remember that even if it feels a little pointless at times or that nobody cares, there ARE people who enjoy the content you put out-- whether its art, writing, silly little tidbits, or whatever else! There's people out there who will think about you over the smallest of things and smile, people who will think about you and your characters and feel inspired, people who may be too shy to interact but love and appreciate you and what you do. Whether you're a big or small blog or something in between, thank you for being part of the FTC.

2×2 - Grown-Up Situation 4
Author: Akira
Characters: Yuuta, Hinata, Anzu
Translator: Mika Enstars
"He actually made 2wink shine, unlike other people who are nothing but talk."
[Read on my blog for the best viewing experience with Oi~ssu ♪]
Season: Winter
Location: Meeting Room
Tumblr media
Yuuta: …And so, those in the faction who want to disparage Anzu-san are trying to get YamadaP appointed in her place.
Hinata: There’s talks about bringing in a well-known independent agency from the field to ES and make them the head of P-Association, huh?
And transfer the power and authority Anzu-san currently has over to YamadaP.
Tumblr media
Yuuta: Well, it might become a hot topic. It’s an undeniable fact that YamadaP is competent, I have a feeling it’ll change the way we see the P-Association, which is currently being laughed at.
He actually made 2wink shine, unlike other people who are nothing but talk.
Hinata: Watch your words… Why have you turned into such a bad kid, Yuuta-kun?
Yuuta: I’ve been like this for a while, though? Wasn’t it just everyone else who misunderstood me?
I just realized that it’s impossible for others to understand me even if I kept quiet, so I decided to not hold back anymore from revealing my true feelings.
I don’t care if I’m hated for it. It’s better than being slowly chopped to death.
Tumblr media
Hinata: … …
Yuuta: Well, whatever. Maybe I just don’t get it, but what do we have to do with this unsightly P-Association infighting?
I don’t want us to get involved in this~, can’t you idiots just squash each other instead?
Hinata: I told you, watch your words, your words…
Anzu-san said that since there’s no point in fighting forever, they decided to settle with a match.
In a production showdown between AnzuP and YAmadaP.
Yuuta: Sounds fun, adults.
Hinata: Better than a never-ending internal conflict that could lead to violence—I mean, it sounds pretty healthy.
Yuuta: Anyways, we 2wink have been chosen for the production showdown’s material.
Hinata: We’re the balls being used in a ball game.
We seem to be the only idols that both Anzu-san and YamadaP have both produced—
Yuuta: As an external producer, YamadaP doesn’t seem to have much involvement with ES idols.
I guess that means we’re convenient~. Well, I do feel that in terms of how long we’ve known each other, Anzu-san has a bit of an advantage.
But, YamadaP has spent more time working as a producer, right? Meaning his experience and track record are on a whole different level.
Hinata: I guess those reasons are why they felt we would make suitable “balls”.
I sound like you saying this, Yuuta-kun, but adults seriously are always making selfish decisions without knowing it.
Yuuta: As usual, our autonomy is not taken into consideration, isn’t it?
Hinata: Right, right, do we get anything out of going along with this mess?
Yuuta: Hm, hm… Eh, for real?
Tumblr media
Yuuta: Really… From now on, we’ll be able to have our very own brand-new weekly name-sake program during prime time?
Hinata: I wonder if that’s what the Vice Prez was referring to when he called it a “large job offer”.
That program—2×2, will be produced alternatingly by Anzu-san and YamadaP.
Yuuta: And then, you’ll compete for viewer ratings, or something?
Hinata: As of right now at least… It seems the program’s scheduled to air a total of 12 times for a season, meaning Anzu-san and YamadaP will be in charge of 6 each.
The total ratings earned for those 6 sessions will be compared, the winner being who has the highest.
Yuuta: Ahaha, isn’t this just some game?
Just what do these oh-so-hard-working people think of the work they do as?
Hinata: I think it’s good and easy to understand. Also, Anzu-san and YamadaP will be in charge of the first and last episodes respectively, which are the most likely to get large viewership ratings.
Yuuta: It kiiiinda feels like they’ve made a solid plan already, somehow… If we refuse the request, the whole thing will just fall apart, is that really alright?
But if we say no, then I bet some other idols will just be put in our place… Honestly, there’s probably millions of them out there ready to toss us aside and replace us.
Hinata: Hmm. And it's true this is a disproportionately huge job, where turning it down isn’t really an option.
I’m willing to take it on, if anything. It sounds like it’d be a little interesting, and I think it’d be beneficial to 2wink too.
So Anzu-san, there’s no need for you to do anything like kowtow.
Yuuta: We’ve been used to being swung around to other people’s conveniences for a while now.
You can apologize now and say that you’re sorry for causing us trouble, but all I can say is if you’re going to apologize, then don’t do it in the first place.
Hinata: I’m still concerned about how you phrased that, but… Well, that's how it is.
We’ll cooperate with you the best we can, so don’t look at us like that—okay, Anzu-san?
We owe both a lot to you and YamadaP, so it doesn’t bother us, although we can’t just pick a side.
Yuuta: I suppose that’s why we were chosen. Any other ES idol—Especially those from Yumenosaki, are likely to have a bias towards Anzu-san.
Where if it were us, who don’t really have favor towards one side or another, it’ll make for a fair game, right?
Hinata: Right. So, well, it’s hard to not want Anzu-san to win, but we’ll do our best as professionals!
It seems to be somewhat of a troublesome position for Anzu-san, too…Well, do your best.
As a producer.
And we, too, will do our very best as idols, with pride.

Hello to the various new followers of this blog in the last few months!
I have noticed that some of you seem to be brand new tumblr accounts. I appreciate you following this blog so quickly after joining tumblr! It warms my heart that so many aromantic people are able to find this blog so quickly!
However, I have only realized this because of certain "common practices" on this site, and I'm worried that some of you might be getting blocked by other blogs you try to follow! If your blog is completely blank (no icon/profile picture, no title, no descriptions, no posts, and all the default settings like having your likes and follows publicly visible), you unfortunately look indistinguishable from a new spambot that hasn't started their second phase of operation yet. A lot of users on this site block accounts that are blank, out of an abundance of precaution for removing spambots from their blog so they don't get spam links in their replies/reblogs. Spambots start by following a massive number of accounts and existing in silence for a week or more, then suddenly start posting stolen pictures from the internet before moving on to posting content that breaks TOS and is full of links trying to scam anyone who clicks them. A blank blog is not a guarantee that in a few more days, you won't start spamming them.
Luckily, there's an easy fix! Simply pick out an image of any kind to act as your blog icon, change your title to anything a human would write ("I'm new!", "~lurking~", and "not a bot" are all perfectly acceptable options), and change your description (a lot of us do mini bios there, but you can also just have something like "I'm new to tumblr and figuring out what I want on my blog still" )! Another quick fix is to make one (1) single post that clarifies you're still adjusting to tumblr, and leaving it as your only post til you start reblogging stuff.
Don't be afraid to hit reblog! It's kinda like retweeting, or sharing on Facebook, or saving a pin to a board on Pinterest. You don't have to add anything to a reblog, but you have the option to add tags (which can be used to organize your blog into different topics like having different boards on Pinterest or albums on Instagram, or to just talk about the post in a way that requires more effort for someone else to include in their reblog from you) or to add text/images/links to the body of the post (that's how those long chain posts with many different blogs adding on their thoughts happen!).
Reblogging is the lifeblood of the site. Tumblr has added algorithmic options to the dashboard in recent years, but most of us prefer to use tumblr the old-fashioned way and only see posts from people we follow. Reblogging is how you get a post in front of your followers! It's how your followers get to know you! Have fun with it!
Liking is the bonus extra-love button, or for when a post is one you like but for whatever reason you don't want it on your blog(s). Reblogging is a better method of engagement, but liking isn't completely useless like a lot of people try to say. Tumblr has added a thing where, if your likes are public, your followers might occasionally see a post that you liked on their dashboard. Most of us keep our likes private, though, so many people aren't aware this is a thing now, and we like things specifically to engage but not show it off on our blogs, so we don't want our likes showing up on people's dashes. I tend to like a post when I would maybe spam multiple reblogs of it but don't want to reblog it several times in a row and clutter up my own blog, or when it's a discourse post I agree with but don't want to spread the discourse around. Artists will often mention things about reblogs being better than likes and it is for this simple reason: reblogging means you are putting it in front of more eyes, and thus helping the artist find buyers/commissions and build their brand. If you follow an artist and hit 'like' on everything they post, consider reblogging some of them so more people see their art and they can get even more attention for their wonderful talent/skill!
Some other things:
For anyone who hasn't checked this blog's homepage out, you may be unaware that this blog is not a main account. It's a group sideblog, one that I do not own. The owner hasn't logged in to tumblr in years, so there won't be any calls for additional moderators for the foreseeable future (as I am unable to add new members myself because of the permissions set by the owner). I am currently the only active mod for the account, so only my main is currently linked in the bio. You can follow me on that blog if you want to get to know me better! I post way more stuff there, just because it's not focused on a single topic like this blog is. (Because this is a sideblog I cannot DM from this account, either, so if you ever need to DM me for some reason you need to go to my main and DM me there.)
I try to answer asks I get here as quickly as possible, and the anonymous option is on! I do my best to reblog things from all across the spectrum of aromantic experiences, but I only have my own experience to base my judgement on, so if there's a particular flavor of aro content you'd like to see more of (posts for a specific identity, more art, more comics, whatever), just send an ask and let me know!

thank you for tagging me @komawo :) i haven’t done one of these in years!!
nickname: egg, xana, xana-banana, Z, X
sign: scorpio!!
height: 5′5″
last thing googled: “pantoprazole brand name” googled this bc my coworker (i’m a pharmacy technician) asked the pharmacist “what’s the generic name for pantoprazole?” lmfao. so i was curious what its brand name was (it’s Protonix), since like… pantoprazole IS the generic name.
song stuck in my head: nothing currently? yesterday it was the “we just got a letter” song from blue’s clues.
followers: 2,940
amount of sleep: i couldn’t say for sure bc i have been sleeping quite poorly recently, but i did sleep in today and take a nice nap as well.
lucky number: don’t really have one :/
dream job: at this point i am also not entirely sure of the answer to this. i really want to be a doctor and have wanted to for years, but i am not sure what specialty i’m interested in anymore. i was very sure for quite a while, so now i’m just kinda waiting to see what i like once i have more experience. i was never interested in family medicine, but my PCP has sort of caused me to feel as though it would be a fun specialty.
wearing: christmas dog pajama pants and a light blue t-shirt!
movies/books that summarize me: hmm… i’m not quite sure how to answer this. i have a lot of favorites that people probably associate me with bc i like them so much, but definitely some more special ones that i am attached to outside of books/movies i just like a lot. i would say “breaking away”, “fantastic mr. fox”, “cool runnings”, and “stand and deliver” are movies i love very dearly. for books… maybe suzanne collins’ “gregor the overlander” series and “the lost princess” by george macdonald.
favorite song: my CURRENT favorite (it changes a LOT) is either “this is the life” by two door cinema club, or “happiness” by the 1975.
favorite instrument: oboe!! 100% oboe, it is my favorite woodwind. i wish i could play.
favorite author: richard preston! i own all his books, hehe. he’s also who i owe my interest in microbiology and infectious diseases to. :) love that man.
aesthetic: lots and lots of things… medicalcore/hospitalcore, pharmacycore (i’m trying to start this aesthetic with my sideblog, but it’s not been that successful), green nature stuff, architecture, certain types of cleancore and weirdcore, etc., haute couture, pink things and food. basically anything you see on my blog is part of my personal aesthetic.
favorite animal noise: a loon’s call orrrrrr… maybe those silly sounds that baby seals/sea lions make.
random: my sister is taking me on a trip in a week and a half and won’t give me any hints on where we’re going!! i’m completely in the dark, the most i can say is that i’m quite confident that we’re not going to new york bc her best friend already lives there and she is also coming on the trip.
for this i’ll be tagging @urbanjesus @liberatedfromtheworld @1o9 @zoobles @tyridot :) anyone else who wants to do this is also extremely welcome to do so! you can just say i tagged you lol, i don’t mind. i just tagged the 5 people who came to mind first!

OMORI 2 (spoiler warning for OMORI)
I highly doubt that there will ever be an official sequel to OMORI. However, the idea of it is fun to play with.
Let's get the most obvious thing out of the way: No matter which way you slice it, OMORI's story is complete, done, tied up with a bow. A direct sequel, prequel, or midquel game would be nigh impossible to pull off well. The story is just too self-contained to allow an entirely new game that branches off of it, and I am extremely annoyed that people think otherwise. A continuation would work better in the form of something like a short story or comic, not a full-fledged 25-hour RPG.
"But what about a game about Sunny at his new home?"
"But what about game that shows how Aubrey, Kel, and Hero reacted to the truth?"
"But what about a POV shift to another character?"
These are examples of direct sequel ideas that, while not bad, would work infinitely better as a different form of media and not an RPG. (plus the three friends’ reactions were SUPPOSED to be left up to player interpretation)
I get that we're attached to these characters and want to see how they grow and progress, especially after the good ending, but there's no dancing around it. A direct continuation would not work as a full-fledged RPG because there would be no “game” to speak of.
This is why I propose the idea that an OMORI 2 would start fresh with a new story, setting, and cast of characters. This is similar to, for example, what the Final Fantasy series does. Each mainline entry is its own contained world and storyline (with a few exceptions such as X-2 being a direct sequel to X), but still has plenty of aspects in both gameplay and story tropes that unify them as a series.
This isn’t a brand-new concept. To quote the TV Tropes page on Thematic Series:
Unlike a typical series, a Thematic Series does not follow the same characters or story; instead, it follows the same themes. For instance, a series may focus on themes of war, but with each installment centering on completely different people being affected by completely different wars. One might recognize a few nods to past installments here and there. If the installments share any characters at all, they will be side characters or it may be in the form of a cameo by a former main character of a different chapter.
I wouldn’t write this whole text wall without sharing my own ideas, so here they are!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
OMORI was originally planned to allow the player to select Sunny/Omori’s gender (M/F), but the idea was scrapped due to the crew having to redraw all the art. I would bring back the gender selection with a NB option to boot.
Also I looked up Hail on babynames.com out of curiosity and I think I can work with this meaning.
Tumblr media
Random character concepts:
Tumblr media
Gameplay changes
Tumblr media
Headspace foes
Tumblr media
Headspace items
Tumblr media
Some stuff I wrote down in a .txt file:
While OMORI 2 is not connected to OMORI in terms of story, they do take place in the same world, with some minor connections to the first game (such as the Pet Rocks games getting sequels or Captain Spaceboy becoming a huge multimedia franchise).
While the Headspace in OMORI is more wacky and cartoonish, I want the Headspace in OMORI 2 to have a somewhat different feel to it. Maybe something more akin to a grand adventure rather than silly antics. It could have a little high-fantasy flavor mixed in (emphasis on "little").
I imagine Hail to be very hateful and misanthropic, save for their friends (similar to Omoriboy from that old blog)... But what happened to them that made them this way? Maybe it wasn't a single event, but multiple throughout their life, and Hail has to confront each of them one by one. Maybe the game could be in several acts, with each confrontation increasing in intensity.
Since this game takes place about a decade after OMORI, I could have some Faraway Town NPCs (such as Cris or Mincy) make an appearance... or even be a playable character.
There are some quotes from the OMORI 2014 trailer and the Omoriboy comics that I want to play into: "Anything fun is just a distraction from how much the real world sucks..." "You're not crazy if even one person believes in you..." "Too bad saving the world isn't as easy as these games make it out to be..."
There will probably be a Hikikomori Route or something adjacent to it.
Omori is an in-universe brand of piano, which is why Omori the character from the first game has elements of a piano in his design (his shirt is the top, his striped shorts are the keys, and his socks are the legs). In our world, there is a company called Casio that makes pianos (albeit electric ones), but they also make watches, calculators, and other devices. So, what if Omori the company is basically the equivalent of Casio, and Hail's dream persona was still called Omori? (similar to how almost every Final Fantasy has some incarnation of Cid) That would mean that there's some sort of physical object that holds importance to the story.
Due to the fact that OMORI 2 likely wouldn't revolve around dissociative amnesia like the first game, the lightbulb in the logo will likely have to be replaced.
For the horror bits, I should delve into more of the psych-horror genre for inspiration. Similarly, I should play some Yume Nikki fangames for more inspiration (Yume 2kki, .flow, etc.)
If I'm being completely honest with myself, this game probably wouldn't be as good as OMORI, though that's usually how it is with like 80% of sequels.
In OMORI, all of Sunny's friends were directly affected by Mari's death. How do I connect Hail's friends with the main conflict so that they aren't just there for the sake of existing?
While I should keep similarities to the first game for OMORI 2 to be called a sequel, I also don't want it to just be OMORI again but with a different coat of paint. Similarly, I don't want any of the characters to simply be clones of those from the first game (other than Omori himself, who is somewhat the same, even with a different incarnation).
I have to be EXTRA CAREFUL to avoid romanticizing, sugarcoating, or truncating heavy themes. However, I also can't be too overboard with it or else it comes off as insensitive. It's a delicate balance.
Will I end up projecting myself and my own issues onto Hail? Probably.
I want to have the real-world sections take place in a big city... but I grew up in a fairly rural area surrounded by farmland and sports fields, meaning that my sources of inspiration are pretty lacking.
An idea that I had was that, since OMORI has themes of forgiving oneself, OMORI 2 could have themes of forgiving others. However, I'd be playing with fire, since I could accidentally deliver a toxic message.
None of this will probably be an actual game, as I'd need composers, artists, funding, people who are skilled with RPG Maker, and probably permission from OMOCAT and crew.
If I decide to develop this idea further, I’ll probably delegate it to a second blog.

4. A character you rarely talk about?
Hmmm.. I guess it would have to be some of my more brand new ocs (aka ones that aren’t even developed enough to have a tag on here yet!). A lot the ocs I had on my previous oc aesthetic blog are either in oc purgatory or in the process of getting revamped entirely. Some are so new that i have yet to draw them, much less talk about them. But for now, I’ll focus on one who I haven’t drawn yet from VITW verse: Adira, a butch dandelion rogue who has a love-hate/lovers AND enemies relationship with the strawberry monster huntress, St. Wickam.
Adira was disgraced knight who now wanders the wilderness as a thief and mercenary. She often finds herself crossing paths with the high-strung strawberry and she’s made it her personal mission to play with her and to steal her heart (literally or metaphorically? Whatever happens first). Wickam was initially charmed by her but she soon realized that Adira stole her money and they’ve been getting into homoerotic fights about it (and many other instances of them messing with each other) ever since. Their relationship is.. complicated. And neither are ready to admit to themselves or each other that they have romantic feelings for each other. And that’s all I have for now. 🫡
18. Any OC crackships?
Two words: Archdemon Polycule… Or more accurately, separate polycules that have overlap with some members but not all of them are involved with each other. Here’s a visual aid I drew for this weird ass poly ship:
Tumblr media
All Roads Lead to Asmodeus. Would this polycule be an absolute disaster of a relationship? Yes. Do I think it would actually work out? No, I doubt it would last for very long, especially when infernal politics come into the mix… Not to mention that they tend to bicker with each other a lot. Would it at least be entertaining to watch this particular polycule crash and burn? Yes. This will never happen in canon but it would be funny if it did.
26. Have you ever had to change your OC’s design or something else about them against your will?
Not exactly? The only thing that kinda made me change things about my ocs against my Will was probably the existence of H*zbin H*tel/H*lluva B*ss. For a while, I stepped away from my Hell/Heaven story partly because of its popularity/fandom and me wanting to distance myself from it, which included my own story about Hell. I would elaborate further, but there’s a time and place for being a hater and it isn’t here lol. The other, more major reason was that I had a crisis of faith in my artistic and writing ability was also having at the same time I was vocally beefing with these series on tumblr.
31. Pick one OC of yours and explain what their tumblr blog would be like (what they reblog, layout, anything really)
I can think of a few ocs who would actually have a tumblr blog.. I think the most interesting of which would be Archdemon Belphegor’s tumblr blog(s). I’d imagine she’d have several blogs: her main (memes, occasionally posts about her inventive work, plushies, science posts), a blog dedicated to programming and maybe game dev, an aesthetic blog based on 90s computers and video games, and a separate NSFW blog not connected to her main. I’d imagine she’d take the time to make her own custom layout and across the board, they’d all have old computer desktop/old video game vibes. She posts pretty frequently and she sometimes slacks off on her work to check her socials, including tumblr.
43. Do you have any certain type when you create your OCs? Do you tend to favour some certain traits or looks? It’s time to confess
Oh definitely. For one, I typically give my ocs curly/wavy hair, usually dark hair (brown or black). I rarely give them blonde or ginger hair. And even my ocs who have gray hair now were brunettes in their youth. I tend to give my ocs non-straight hair because I find drawing hair with a lot of volume/defined shapes to be more fun than just straight hair.
Aside from that, I tend to make my ocs fat, mostly because I’m fat myself! And a vast majority of my ocs end up with long lashes since I tend to just. Give them obvious lashes, regardless of gender. What can I say? Lashes look great.

ao3 retrospective - 2022
hi blog, it’s a brand new year and i thought it would be fun to share some of my writing stats from ao3!
total words: 184,636 (This is admittedly overblown because i finished two multi-chapter works from previous years. However, I’m glad to count them in 2022 because it means I finished! I did it!)
total fic count: 27 (a lot of these are short writer’s month fics but they count!)
total podfics: 1
longest fic: Means of Transportation (68,524 words) - my TKA de-aged ywz fic! the longest thing i’ve written ever and it makes me so happy that i accomplished it.
honorable mention longest fic*:  This is not a ghost story (39,024 words) - the not-a-ghost fic that i started writing around the same time as de-aged ywz but was not able to pull it together until this year’s super fun big bang event. can’t believe it actually got written!!
* since my longest was mostly written in a previous year i get to talk about a second!
shortest fic: the "us" in team  (193 words) - I really enjoyed writers month this year and this little fic is one of my favorites. ft my favorite headcanon that hst calls ywz captain forever
most self-indulgent fic: comm me (the one with the commissioned plushies) - this fic was all about cramming as many ridiculous things as I could into one fic, and having a great time doing it. also the naked ywz agenda and naps \o/
(Honorable mention for the tka/how to build a sex room crossover - bag of tricks.) and the wei chen time travel fic because i love time travel tropes - and wiser
fic i wished got more attention: a shipwreck at sea (tka, yu wenzhou and fang shijing, prequel era). i’m not surprised at the limited reception considering it’s a bit of a niche gen pairing, but I adore the prequel and I adore fsj and it was fun to write about the two of them
fic i’m most proud of: okay i’m not going to talk about de-aged ywz anymore so the runner up is my first attempt at a horror-style fic. it isn’t a genre i usually enjoy reading or writing but i really had fun with this one and was so happy with how it came out, especially for a first attempt.
flicker (2981 words) - yu wenzhou blinks and everything changes
Goals for 2023: be more self indulgent! keep writing ! post some more tumblr rambles to ao3. some tka avatar fic maybe
Final thoughts: And that’s a wrap. A very productive year in writing! I tend to think of myself as just kind of banging away at the same ship over and over again but in reviewing last year’s fic, I think I do a decent job of bringing other friendships in and making an attempt to flesh out the world outside the ship. Overall, I’m happy with what I’ve written and hopefully I will continue to make improvements as writer!
Happy New Year, blog! 💙

Group Rock Festival II
Once their duties were done the Dandies had a few hours break where they rested, showered, and changed clothes. Time seemed to fly by before they were back at the festival. The evening set was really just a guest appearance. And thanks to all camps involved there was a huge buzz about who the mystery headliner was going to be.
Of course they had to shoot a vlog for the rock festival. Since their managers weren't around Haruto happily let Makoto take the lead. It was just something fun and quirky about growing up in Japan. Haruto fibbed a little. He could only speak about coming back to Nagoya when his dad did.
After the video they sat in the back room waiting saved for talent. There were an array of snacks and drinks both alcoholic and not for the taking. They guys were bubbling with excitement as they raided the table. Ayame-kun was far too polite to giggle.
"This is so cool!" Mako-chan said with a mouth full of cookies
"They always have snacks and stuff back here…."Haruto said as he rested on the couch.
"Not for us," said Daisuke with his own hands full of snacks. "Not before." Haruto looked at them confused but nodded, happy that they were happy.
Haruto looked at his phone. He rarely looked at social media but with all the work they were doing to build this new brand he was narcissistic enough to want to see their progress and maybe see if anyone caught their set earlier.
He scrolled through the feeds smiling at how cool they looked together. Soon he found his his way through old feeds old messages, but then when they formed the new band, some of the old blogger that followed the guys before it gave him pause. Haruto knew that the guys had followers before but it was nice to see.
The blog post was about how they hoped the addition of a second rate legacy singer wouldn't corrupt the pure sound of their music. Haruto searched through the comments about how there was so much build up about Haruto being a rising star then attaching himself to this other group. Others came to his aid with comments about how this would be good for both. One of the hardest comments was that they expected more from Akita's son.
Suddenly, there were hands over his eyes, jerking him out of his thoughts.
"Guess who?" cooed a familiar female voice.
"Bailey-san?"
The hands moved away from his eyes and the young woman sat beside him.
"How was your set?" he knew Bailey had an early set on the first day.
"It was alot of fun. We didn't have the same number of fans you had but not all of us can get on the main stage." Haruto flinched.
"At least you go to perform?"he offered.
"At least," she said. Daisuke came over to bring Haruto a drink.
"You like this this one right?" he said. "You're Bailey-san right?" Daisuke said offering her a drink as well. She looked at the Daisuke, she leaned in.
"Alot of things make sense now," Bailey whispered to the boys. "Kaito-san carrying you out of the party , those guys in or hotel room. You choose them over me."
Haruto flinched. "I don't know what you're talking about….
"A-chan and I are in the same agency. She told me everything. How you clung to Kaito-san and left her at the club. " She turned her gaze to Daisuke. "How you and your little dandies had a nice, naked, party in the hotel room." It was Daisuke's turn to flinch.
"Bailey-san stop," Haruto whispered.
"It's not that he doesn't like getting sucked off for roles, I just have the wrong set of lips.
"Stop!" Haruto barked. "You got paid off me too, right?" he looked her in the eye. "Are you really mad that I didn't fuck you? Or did you not get paid enough?" He pulled his wallet out of his back pocket, pulled out a hand full of bills. He reached for Bailey's hand and forced the money into her palm. "If you want more talk to Ueno, but I won't let you talk about me or my band mates anymore."
"I'm not a cheap whore!" she glared back throwing the money back at him.
"Leave Bailey-san,"he said watching with a cold gaze. The young woman turned and rushed away from them. Daisuke knelt down to pick up the money handing it back to Haruto
"I'm sorry," Haruto told Daisuke putting the money back in his wallet.
"What she said was true about us," Daisuke said. "Even in school there were rumors about us."
"She doesn't get to say it," he said. "Not when she made money off of me too." Haruto sighed. "I know we aren't actually friends but we still have to work together. You guys have been really nice to me and that's worth something," he sighed.
"I was going to send this to you tomorrow," Daiskuke puled out his phone typing something out, a few seconds later Haruto got an alert on his phone. "That's the file for the sumo anime. I, thought about you when I wrote it."he patted Haruto on the shoulder before walking away to join the other guys. Haruto sighed again, he'd look at it later.
Haruto sat back on the couch he wanted to close his eyes until it was time to work, but he spotted his younger brother milling about.
"Yukito?" he called out.The youngest Ono looked like he was caught and went to flop down beside his brother. "What are you doing here?"
"Supporting my big brother," he said looking around
"My set was hours ago,"
"Oh." Yuki said still looking around the room."Is… Kaito-san around?"
"Really?" Haruto laughed.
"What? Haru-nii gets all the cute guys."Yuki pouted. Yukito's phone vibrated. "Shit, I have to go."
"Where?"
"Uncle wants me to scout this group on one of the other stages."
Now it all made sense.Yukito hated the music part of music festivals, this was work.
"Have fun," Haruto waved a his little brother got up. Yuki tsked.
"We're coming for Dad's set tomorrow. You coming?"
"Yeah," he said relaxing into the couch again until it was time to work.

Hi ladies! Hope you’re having a good day! I wanted to stop by and apologize that you’ve had people sending you harassment and death threats. That’s so cruel and my apologies that you’ve had to deal with such threats and hate because you run a Chris Evans Tumblr blog. People are insane. I’m sure you know this, but pay them no mind! It takes a very sad lonely person to act that way.
Which leads me to something I wanted to maybe share. My friend is a therapist and we were talking about this media fascination with Travis and Taylor. She mentioned it’s an escape for some people, which I totally get because that’s genuinely what led me to your blog. IMO, there’s no harm in escapism because there’s sports, videogames, TV, etc. But the problem is when people get weird, take things too far, and lose sight of reality. And my fear is things will get worse with AI (but that’s a whole other convo).
The thing is, I just really feel for all the people in this fandom getting so damn worked up over Chris for whatever reasons. I know it’s Alba right now. But it’s just crazy to me. This man has no idea you exist. He doesn’t care about you. You will probably never meet him. And he’s out there enjoying his life getting ready for the holidays to have fun with his new and old family. He’s got loads of money and he’s traveling. Getting upset about it isn’t going to change the reality of the situation or any fantasy that might be in someone’s head. He’s a celebrity. He’s built up a brand online to sell movies. None of us know him in real life. And that’s okay! I honestly would rather not. For example, most celebrities whose music and movies I LOVE would piss me off in real life. I’d me like ewww. They live in a different reality and can’t relate to things I go through on a day to day basis. Sorry that was LONGGG! 😅
I think you nailed it here.
I did recently see commentary about why everyone loves watching this Taylor and Travis thing so much and it’s because of the overall absence of romcoms. A concept so many people in general love. And watching the two of them feels like we’re watching a rom com play out in real life. I’m not sure how true that might be, but it does kind of make sense to me. I’m not really a fan of either of them (I’m not NOT a fan either-just indifferent) but it’s been fun to watch it all play out 🦎

TrashWizzard's RP Blog Rules and Preferences
This is not an exhaustive list, but here are some guidelines before interacting with me. These are my personal preferences, not universal law nor judgment of anyone else's style of play. It's simply what I prefer for myself. Everyone enjoys their fiction differently, and that's ok :)
Firstly, I am an adult. I would prefer to rp with others who are 18+.
I am also 🏳️‍🌈very queer🏳️‍🌈, as are my characters. If you have questions about their identities, preferences, or my own please feel free to ask! My OOC pronouns are They/Them.
It goes without saying that bigots, homophobes, TERFs and assorted hate groups DNI. I'm literally Just A Guy who enjoys writing fictional things about made up people. Deal with it 🤙
I'm brand new to roleplaying in Tumblr format, so bear with me as I learn the ropes. I live on Discord, and depending on the circumstances I am also open to rp on there as well.
Roleplaying preferences under the cut:
Yes
✅ Etiquette
Please be familiar with general roleplaying etiquette as well as common terms (such as Godmoding, Meta Knowledge, and IC / OOC). I am an adult with a full-time job and many interests. I will try to respond as often as I can, but please be patient if my replies are not immediate. Usually planning to reply at least once a day, sometimes more if our schedules line up well. I am a literate roleplayer, usually opting for and preferring paragraphs or descriptive posts; however I do enjoy rapid-fire script style as well.
✅ Original Characters Only
Show off your fantrolls, maybe even human ocs? No matter the fandom, I want to see your original characters only.
✅Canon-Adjacent
My characters are designed to flow well with MSPA (or the appropriate fandom's) canon as much as I can, but that isn't an unbreakable standard. Some things I have bent or changed because it's fun, straying just far enough to make unique and interesting divergences from canon. Nothing super crazy.
✅Character Arcs and Ongoing Plots
We love to see it!! It would be awesome to collaborate with other roleplayers I find I really vibe with. I would love nothing more than to create an expansive story with intertwined details among characters.
✅ Alliances and Rivalries
Plotting! Scheeeming! Sometimes this happens naturally, but I'm usually open to planning things ahead of time if it seems fun 👀 No worries about metagaming here, I'm generally very good at keeping OOC knowledge compartmentalized from my IC knowledge.
✅ Mature Themes
!! I do not mean smut, sex, erp, etc. !! I love darker themes and angst in my writing. Most of my characters are probably traumatized in one way or another, and some of those themes may be uncomfortable. I generally keep mentions to vague allusions, or don't go into great detail (especially if it's not private rp or with someone I know fairly well). This might include topics such as substance abuse, depression, mortality and other heavy subjects. Life is not always gentle. But the harder they fall, the more fulfilling the redemption.
✅ Slice of Life
As a lighter alternative, I do enjoy fluff, exposition, and slice of life scenarios. Well-placed comedy in rp is one of my favorite takeaways, and some of my characters can be very silly! This is also a great way to break the ice and get to know new friends/characters, and maybe work our way to bigger plots.
____________________
Ask First
❕Shipping
I am unlikely to ship my characters with a stranger's OCs. I'd prefer to ship with friends, if anyone.
❕Character Harm or Death
Falls under mature themes as described above, but please get my consent before trying anything. I'm usually not opposed to letting my guys have a bad day, especially if it helps with growth or plot progression.
____________________
No
❌ Writers under the age of 18
❌ Erotic roleplay
❌ Canon Characters
❌ Joke Characters
Short interactions with joke characters might be okay but that's not my preference overall. Part of my roleplay enjoyment comes from taking my fake people seriously.
❌ Fully Broken Lore or Unreasonable Selfmade Canon
(MSPA specific) If your glitterbloods and half cherubs bring you joy then I am happy for you; but they don't have a place in my cast's lore, I apologize :( My guys wouldn't know how to react.

8:27 PM
I had decided to password protect this blog to make it totally private but the truth is I don’t want to do that. I hate talking to myself. I’d rather it be public even if no one is actually reading it. I feel better having things out there. I do wonder about the harm it could do though if people close to me see such unfiltered thoughts. I wouldn’t have to worry about that if I hadn’t linked it to my other Tumblr awhile back. Maybe I can change the URL, unlock it, and maybe shake the graphics up to not clearly be me. Maybe it would be nice to almost be incognito despite the fact that I say enough personal things on here to probably figure out who I am. Maybe the goal will be to intentionally be more vague and secret.
11:06 PM
Today was okay. Breakfast was potstickers and spicy ramen which was good but I did worry slightly if it would be okay on my tummy despite eating it before. I did well with work today, I like what I’ve been doing using color in my sketch sheet. I drew the first porn of my newest pony OC Avena today. After this I have one last big commission to do this month from the guy that pays double to have it done. I did my leg workout but I don’t think it’s enough so I planned to fill my 2 workout-free days with small leg workouts. I just really want that ass and know I gotta work hard to make it happen. Lunch was a hot dog and a macaroni cup. I think I did a good job on today’s request and made just a little more progress on my bathroom world. I spent some time in my friends server as usual and had fun, I’m just starting to make more consistent conversation with more people there. I still don’t know if I feel it clicking but I will give it more time. It will at least hold me over until I find people that do click better. After work was done I felt inspired to draw a little bit more. After THAT I started to feel lost as usual. I had trouble figuring out what to do that would bring me meaning. I know I like VRchat so I hopped in for a bit to try and socialize. I did have a happy little conversation with this brand new player. He is a 31 year old guy who got his Quest 2 days ago and was hopping worlds. I thought he was a furry because I joined a public “Verified Furry” group instance but he was not associated with that. He just happened to pick this cartoony goat avatar. He was nice to talk to, socially adept unlike the few furries that joined and crowded our conversation. He didn’t stay on for too long though because of his headset’s battery life. I told him he could join me whenever, especially if he gets his Quest hooked up to his PC like he plans to on Wednesday. After that I tried hopping to find more people but had no luck. Another friend joined on me that I didn’t quite want to put up with and as usual he tried fucking the first people we met. I was honestly just super hungry at this point so I got off to make dinner. I watching Twitch until my bestie called and we chatted just a bit before she fell asleep. Ever since I’ve been watching someone stream Novel AI to write a funny little story. I thought about using it myself to write smut just for me even though I stand against using AI for creative means. In this case though it would be totally private for my use. Not sure I will actually put the time into that though. During this time I also made a happy little graph on my time tracking sheet to visualize how much I work per day compared to the rest. I love data like that.

Music Dedications Ending in 2025 .......
Welcome to 2023!!!  First, let me send some well wishes your way and wish ya'll a Hoppy New Year as it will be viewed by many as the year of the rabbit.  You won't catch me playing anywhere from 2025 on and the VERY LAST booking negotiation I will even consider will be for New Years leading into 2025.  I view this timing as an all too perfect moment for me to step away from the music world and end dedications to it all.  It marks a quarter century on the calendar.  I was also born in 1979 so I'll be 45 years old when that time arrives.  As far as I'm concerned, the timing for me to make my exit will be right on the money. Don't worry: there will be plenty of other music artists who you can make fun of on the internet and I know many "fans" of today do little more than that. hahahahaha  It's unlikely that you'd catch me spinning anywhere now but it'll be completely impossible when 2025 arrives.  A lot of that has to do with venues trying to pinpoint who might work some Monday - Friday, 9 - 5 gig and find someone who can moonlight as some spinster at their venue.  That would definitely NOT be me and most I've known no longer fit such an outdated fantasy lifestyle either.  My location also plays a part with why you wouldn't likely catch me appearing somewhere and I'll shed insight on that in the paragraph to follow.  Another aspect has to do with a compromised professionalism with the music industry outlook too.  It's not a nickel and dime industry to be entangled with and you'll be able to grasp that a bit at the end of this blog.
Many in the U.S. are familiar with my whereabouts but some from the other side of the globe may not grasp it as clearly.  I live in Nevada which is a fairly large state in the west.  Las Vegas is the closest major city but it's not really close per se.  I'm just shy of 100 miles north of the city.  At one time, I did live in Las Vegas but you'd have to go back 15 years.  Things changed a great deal during those years of the financial crisis.  It was also viewed by many as when there was an escalation of the digital era.  In the months and years to follow, the Las Vegas nickname of being the "Entertainment Capital of the World" was undoubtedly taken too literally.  Internet use among average people completely exploded during that 2005 - 2010 era.  Around this time and in the years to follow, Vegas embraced all sorts of new entertainment avenues.  The city started supporting like 200 different laptop deejays, 50 European deejays, 50 different recording artists out of L.A., 5 different festival brands, 3 different televised talent shows, 100 different entertainers off Youtube, 10 different music streaming platforms, a pro hockey team, a pro basketball team, a pro football team and all the normal casino operations totaling 200 or something.  It became a bit much I think and was bound to create a certain strain on the local economy.  The city has only been known to have maybe 4 or 5 venues that support local electronica artists of the now.  There haven't been like 15 or 20 or something.  The most infamous of those venues, Empire Ballroom, struggled to maintain after the financial crisis hit.  The venue was then later rebranded as Mosaic and seemed to host tribute shows of Michael Jackson among other notable entertainers.  For whatever reason, when there was an entertainment strain placed on the Sin City economy, the climate shifted to arranging such shows instead.  Does that seem right?  Most would say this Michael Jackson fellow was quite talented and presented all kinds of music that lots of people like.  I was never a big fan of his myself but would understand why he had millions of fans.  He was really talented no doubt.  If we looked back at some sales and show analytics from his era, they're quite impressive of course.  The Las Vegas economy seemed to take the standpoint that the whole tribute show format would yield a more impressive scenario in the entertainment world compared to supporting the actual local music scene.  I don't know why this is.  If we were to adapt a similar Las Vegas logic in the year 2023, that would then probably mean that the Las Vegas Raiders franchise should be dissolved and the team's stadium should instead be used for a Pele tribute show.  Does that sound silly or no?  Sometime ago, some friends there tried to convince me I should move back to Las Vegas.  Because of how things played out with the pandemic, it's a really good thing I didn't!!!  That would've been an awful scenario.  Trying to get things rolling more with music, I've moved around way too much in the last 30 years.  Where I live now is the longest I've lived anywhere this century but my mail stopped catching up with me over a decade ago.  It's as though I was involuntarily tossed into some tech relocation program and it's been a lot of nonsense.
I personally think the screen time of an average soul has gotten out of hand in recent years.  By design, most weren't meant to spend as much time as they do in front of screens.  I really quickly caught this stat off CNET:
"App Annie CEO Theodore Krantz called smartphones, tablets and other handhelds "the go-to device[s] of the future."  The average American spent 4.1 hours a day on mobile devices in 2021, for example, but watched only 3.1 hours of TV."
If not mistaken, average people will spend about 1/3 of their day in front of a device of some sort in 2023.  I've lived without actually owning a TV for close to 18 years now I think.  Sounds crazy huh?  I've lived in some households for a brief time that had one of 'em but I haven't actually owned one or watched one regularly for close to 2 decades.  That might be an indication of what kind of music fanatic I am or hint at how I'm rather crafty with time management. Ironically, setting aside all this TV watching hasn't led me to be more successful really.  I should alternatively reflect being 5 times more successful because of all the TV sacrifices but that's not the case.  It's now viewed as a music industry norm for artists to setup all these web platforms and be surrounded by all these other people using the web.  I really think most need to be putting in less screen time though myself.  1/3 of a day???  Really???  I'm not joking about the following; I actually know of a few souls who got sidetracked for some time and lived a lifestyle of being a complete junkie for a few years.  A couple of these people I'm thinking of would now actually reflect a higher level of success than me.  Sounds kinda weird huh?  On one hand, you have today's music artists who are supposed to be entangled with all sorts of tech addicts.  On the other hand, you have a more successful junkie demographic that's been surrounded by all sorts of societal low lifes.  Seems bizarre huh?  Think about this though: there are instances in which new tech aids advancements of industry.  There are also instances in which new tech creates sweat shops.  Big tech IS known for creating and utilizing sweat shop environments.  These companies haven't previously been known to successfully disguise them on U.S. soil though.
I think what younger artists are doing is great!  I think the direction that music is being taken is awesome!  I know there are some new electronica sounds and formats that have been evolving slowly on the horizon and "today's music" will sound reeeeeally different in another 10 - 20 years.  Music is meant to be that way though!!!  It's supposed to morph into something a little advanced or a little sideways so the world doesn't stand still.  Kudos to the younger artists who are just now starting to make it happen.  For someone like myself, there is complete logic surrounding why my productions sound the way they do.  Spanning an influence range from roughly 1985 -2005, having Chicago area origins, and then migrating out west to a slightly higher energy, "big room" music atmosphere, nobody should be puzzled in the least bit why my material sounds the way it does.  I haven't just been glancing at some random internet sites and trying to pickup on some music trends that appear popular at the moment in an effort to produce some similar, “manufactured” material.  The format, tempo, and sound can honestly be a reflection of local surrounding culture for me and how old I am.  My works are a true reflection of and representation of the first quarter century within the 2000s.  Even as soon as the year 2030 though, dance music will sound verrrrrrry different I think.  I can easily pinpoint this now: if you compare the production efforts put forth in the 2010s to all those house or techno releases that started surfacing during the 1980s, those older cuts from the 1980s sound incredibly primitive for the most part.  Artists of today are at times putting in TONS of effort to now present really fresh electronica cuts that have 3 times the clarity, 5 times the creativity, and 10 times the audio detail.  For the most part, it's a difference between night and day if you look back in the dance music world 30 or 40 years.  What these younger artists are gonna do too, as the year 2050 draws closer, is gonna be really creative and exciting I think.  It definitely won't be a part of my era though.  The younger artists will look to influence of the 2000 - 2025 era and will build off of that instead.  It's gonna be really cool - you just wait and see.
Some of my industry strong points include producing a professional, tangible product and doing so very, very, very quickly.  A huge amount of today's music fans don't look for this or don't understand it I know.  To coordinate manufacturing efforts and get new material shelved in a near overnight manner has been my forte off and on for half the century.  It helps put your city on the map too!!!  Now, you have music fans trying to weed through an alternative platform of web distraction and only pinpointing some of today's music in a vast "sea" of music material - some of which is 25+ years old.  Digital norms via the web have undoubtedly presented a bigger go to for fans and artists alike.  A TON of today's performance deejays and music fans alike ofcourse don't think you need vinyl records to DJ at venues.  It's been more of a tech trend pushed by those brands trying to sell the electronics of today.  Think about this in more detail for just 30 seconds though.  We'll hypothetically say records don't matter in the least bit.  That would then mean I started deejaying around 1984, was growing up only 30 minutes from the original Warehouse Club, and my efforts as an artisan span an entire lifetime.  House music came about and started taking a step forward in 1977 and I entered the picture just 2 years later.  If it's just playing music and an adaptation of tech to do so, some of the others I know who were also born in Chicago around a 1975 - 1983 era should be making BEYOND BANK.  It's an insane notion to even toss out there!!!!!  It DOESN'T work both ways!!!  It's borderline insane to take an angle that losing vinyl records cheapens a music atmosphere 'cause you're pinpointing an escalation of expertise among far too many in the process.  You could be saying there is a relatively small handful of artists from Chicago viewed as real McCoys in the house music world who have an entire lifetime dedicated to deejaying before any schools even existed for the craft of being a performance DJ.  Some snooty booking agent out there might even jump on that farfetched concept and demand our appearances reflect 6 figure contracts for some short 30 minute time slot or some shit.  We'd always be viewed as a basis of which to search the world over for cheaper house talent in some ways.  You'd hypothetically be regarding such dance music entanglements to go back 4 decades and we hail from a pinpointed ground zero in the dance music world. It's a slightly crazy notion but so are many digital outlooks of today.  Simply put, without records in the picture, industry norms become quite twisted.  Based on completely really real world trends of the now, we can look back slightly and narrow down that a specific music style once carved venues to cater to 500 or 600 capacity.  In 2023 though, professionally run dance music venues are attracting a capacity surpassing 5,000.  Wow!!!  The trend is NOT fading in the least bit but rather has increased on a professional level 10 fold.  Pretty awesome!!!
There's an alternative reality now normal at nightclubs no doubt.  It's all too common that folk roll to clubs to celebrate internet connectivity but not actually any products presented by any music brands.  When you take records and music products out of the picture and align a certain disregard of sales in the music industry though, you're kind of comparing a cheaper web-based pop culture to actual culture.  It's like an attempted "sale" of something cheaper that isn't really a product of any culture anywhere a lot of times too.  It's just a mindless piece of entertainment that caught the attention of tons.  It brings into question what actually might be a tech trend and what might actually be a music industry trend. I think more people now actually support the tech trend and not the trend presented by music brands.  It's all too obvious at times.  This is REALLY SCARY to think about though.  If I were to put forth 10 times the web effort and try and "sell" music fans on upping their screen time on all these different music platforms, I'm really then just a pawn for Big Tech.  I would be corralling thousands or millions of music fans onto these tech platforms and a number of these tech companies would in turn be selling personal data of fans. That is your new music tech trend I think.  Some might even look at the scenario as me just flat out working for the Russians or the Chinese perhaps. Deep huh?  Chuck Stygian - covert music spy.  That would be me.
I made mention that I would briefly cite some costs with all this music schtuff. Prior generations understood it a bit more but most people now ironically kill off millions of brain cells everyday with their smart phone usage so I don't think it registers with people as it once did.  The music I produce isn't known to come out of regions like where I'm at.  I actually have to spend thousands importing records and pro gear to where I live.  Stores that carry up to date essentials of electronica artists don't exist where I'm at.  It reflects that people in the area aren’t all that huge on actually supporting music brands.  On a professional level, there are about 20 cities in the U.S. that are looked to for their electronica climates.  Among them are Chicago, Detroit, L.A., San Francisco, New York, Miami, Houston, Seattle, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, and a handful of others.  Most of the cities rank as the most expensive cities in the country.  They are NOT cheap places to live.  It's not an inexpensive artform.  We'll take for example just one production of mine that was released 10 weeks back - "High Roller."  The production, because of all the audio detail and fancy effects, called for about 40 working hours to complete.  If you were to call around to various recording studios in one of the aforementioned cities, you'd then pinpoint the worth / value of 1 song.  We can easily conclude it's a 4 figure production.  Come just a bit later in 2023, I will have completed and released over 8 hours of original music.  It's been a crazy amount of work, a lot of lost sleep, and I do everything from scratch.  I personally handle ALL songwriting, production, and editing efforts.  I also do so while juggling a job where I often work 6 day work weeks.  My schedule has been this nutty for the last decade.  A number of the productions are quite time consuming.  It's the extra efforts, creativity, and attention to detail that place them in today's era though.  It's normal now for electronica artists to spend 20 hours, 30 hours, or even longer to present something more cutting edge that can realistically be placed in a 2020s era.  If residing in one of these other cities, the studio costs surrounding said 8 hours of music magic would land along the lines of $1/4 million U.S. These are only the studio costs and doesn't shed light on even one red cent surrounding all the other schtuff.  I made no mention of various web costs so you can make fun of me on the internet.  There are design costs.  There are costs whenever something is released.  There are copyright costs.  There are photography costs.  Their are stylist costs.  There are record costs.  etc. etc. etc.  This is where the real problem has lied: the U.S. performance rights organization has reflected I'm getting cut about $15 in royalties on an international level and it's all coming from out of country.  Though I am outselling what was the Chicago market, Juno current reflects less than $75 in sales revenue of my works.  As mentioned, the music doesn't ordinarily come out of such a region.  Everyone's tech use dictated that the music wasn't supposed to come about.  Everyone's tech use also now implies that various artists of tomorrow are gonna be tossin’ $250,000 into studio projects in an effort to spin $100 in revenue.  That sounds kinda looney to me anyways.
I won't put forth such efforts from 2025 forward!!!  In theory, it would be an ideal time to take prior successes from the music world to start another type of business.  This is a normal path to follow for American music artists.  This step forward now remains in question though.  I should instead create my own popcorn brand or brewery or line of pet toys or something.  I dunno.  I periodically glance at some want adds now and then in preparation for when 2025 arrives but I also have this cool opportunity to run guns for a cartel.  "That sounds unlawful," you're saying.  Well, yeah, but there's a straightforward, honest, unlawfulness surrounding the whole ordeal.  Corralling all of today's music fans by the millions so their data can be sold to Russia or China or whoever would also be unlawful so it's really just a process of weighing a lesser of two evils no? Fortunately, I've had some coupons with all this music production work and am NOT indebted to ANY recording studios.  I'm also NOT indebted to ANY record labels.  I also have NO ties to any labels and am NOT obligated to fulfill any contracts or 6 album deals or something.  I've personally covered the costs for everything.
There are less than 2 years left in which you'll be able to catch me.  Nothing is scheduled at the moment.  Maybe though, I'll land in a city by you for a night or two sometime in the months to come.  Come 2025, you'll view me as inactive and will be completely through.  As far as tomorrow's artists go, good luck. You're gonna need a ton of it.
Gotta go.  lkdjfl;kjsdf;laskdjf;laskdjf;laskdjf;ldskjf;ladskj

Farewell to Twitter
I joined Twitter in the summer of 2008, during a temp job in Slough. The office had blocked Facebook and I needed a social media distraction to get me through the dull day. At this time, social media was still just a fun distraction, a way to chat to friends, post photos, etc. It hadn't yet become an essential part of business or something that you could study and do as a job. I had read about twitter in the Guardian (the Guardian was my other main work distraction) and thought I'd give it a try. It took a while to get the hang of it and find people to make it fun but within less than a year, I was logging on everyday and the time I spent there only increased. I loved it. I was enthusiastic about it. It was fun and interesting. It was so simple but so clever. You could connect with so many people and just talk to then about all kinds of things.
I'd had an online life for a while at that stage. I'd spent the last ten years forming friendships with online strangers, on mailing lists and blogs. I meet some of them in real life too. When Facebook came along it turned that process upside down. It brought real-life people online. People I meet at college, at parties, on nights out with friends then became online friends. Twitter managed to do both these things. It had all the interesting people who I never meet, as well as lots of real-life friends, and people who I would didn't know at all but who had interesting things to say. I followed a lot of writers, tv and theatre people, lots of creative people, lots of funny people. I learnt a lot from all those people in my phone.
Twitter was the first online platform that I used primarily on my phone. I loved how I could disappear into my phone and catch up with what everybody else was up to while I waited for the bus or stood in a queue. I'd get a glimpse into all these different lives and the world felt smaller and I felt more connected to it all. Twitter made me feel better informed. I got these regular snapshots from around the world. I learnt weird things, I got lots of recommendations for books and tv shows, and more recently newsletters and podcasts. It widened my cultural horizon.
I loved the twitter chatter for big tv events. I remember watching the final series of Love/Hate and everyone tweeting during the ad breaks. I'm going to have to find a real-life group to watch Eurovision with next year because I won't be able to watch it with twitter.
A big part of why I've decided twitter after all these years is because it feels a bit weird and gross to be there, that in some way I'm supporting or endorsing the poisonous troll by still spending time on the site. It's also got quieter and I think a lot of people are pausing before they tweet and then maybe not hitting send. I think it's been that way for a while. The thoughtful, informative people I follow are now worrying about the kinds of replies they'll get, or going the wrong kind of viral, or things not coming across the way they meant it. I worry about those things.
I tried Mastadon and it seems fine. The thing that put me off was that's it is too much like twitter. People try to tell you it's like the early days of twitter, but I don't think that's true. It may be a new platform but it already feels twitter shaped. That may change and it will become a brand new thing but right now, people are posting how they post on twitter and I realised I'm tired of that. I'm fed up of the performative tweets, the fast reactions and the terminally onlineness of it all. I want out but I'm still finding it really hard to leave. Even though twitter is a lot quieter recently, I'm still afraid I'll miss something. I will miss the connected feeling I got from it but I need to acknowledge that really that's already gone and has been for a while.
It was fun while it lasted.

Social Media: Do You Need to Use It to Grow Your Business?
youtube
In the various FB forums, groups, and even my inbox, there's one thing I get more questions on than any other subject. I felt the same way. I believed Social media would hold the answer to increasing my revenues, generating more engagement and creating the strength of my brand.
Is social media even worth it?
If you believe Twitter is one of the most vital aspects of growing a company or you'd like not ever to repeat the phrase "tweet," then you're on the right track.
In this article, I'm going to talk about... My experiences and opinions on the use of social media for communication and business-building tool What can social media accomplish, but why isn't the "end all be all."
What are the steps to pick which platform(s) that be most beneficial for you and your customers
Ultimately, my aim here is to ensure that you're conscious and focusing on the right things to help grow your community and business faster than distracted by tasks that feel more like walking water...in the pit of mud... amid a hurricane.
The first question is, do you need for you to use social media?
The world began to change and evolve when I entered the blogging community around four years ago. At the time, Instagram had barely picked momentum, Snapchat was not well-liked, Periscope and Facebook Live weren't even around, and Pinterest was beginning to gain momentum.
There was much less social media on the internet, blog comments were the king of the hill, and Twitter was where the fun was. (Did anyone mention "party"? I'll be having a Ballast Point. Thank you! ).
What's the difference? The vast majority of social media websites only grew in popularity in the last few years. Additionally, video (especially the live stream) has only recently seen its grand debut.
This led to a lot of anxiety and "squirrel" feeling because of the many new ideas that appeared all at once. It was a bit as follows...!
Oh, and did I mention that Facebook groups are trendy now? It's true! I'm there! And Pinterest isn't only for recipes? Yes, I can also do that! And the live video is exploding? It's true that I'm a significant bedhead and am exhausted, but sure!
All of it is happening simultaneously. It made us begin to feel that we had to be everywhere simultaneously without contemplating if that was real.
It's tough to say "no" when everyone you admire and know is already on the next platform and has warned users to be aware that "if there's no early adoption you'll be left in the dust!
Tumblr media
Maybe that is just me.
You then move towards the next channel again until you realize that you've created ten tracks each take time to complete; however, they're not delivering the expected results.
Do you need to be on every social media platform? Are you spending hours every week using social networks?
Heck, to the mother-effin'-no.
As social media has become more prevalent, the public has begun to desire authenticity in a more excellent and significant way. This is the reason why live video is growing SO well-known. It isn't easy to cover up an aesthetically-designed Instagram picture while living in camera.
Therefore, instead of being on every platform, make sure you're on just a couple of platforms to ensure that your customers truly begin to trust your brand and know that they'll receive high-quality content each time they see your account show up on their feed.
What this means for you is that you don't have to be all the time.
Choose your primary social media channels and work with them with a lot of focus. You may only have one particular platform you're involved in. It's much superior to being frightened and unprofessional as you build social media personalities that seem fabricated and automated instead of genuine.
1. Which areas are your customers hanging out in the most?
This is probably the easiest, but it's an important point worth mentioning. If you're working to create your business, you need to overcome the hurdle of looking to utilize websites familiar to you.
I've heard many users say they don't know what to do with Instagram Stories or Snapchat, even though they know that the users who use them are avid users of these platforms.
Instead of figuring out the best platforms to establish stronger relationships with their friends, They stick with those platforms they're familiar with and waste the opportunity to build relationships with their group.
It's all about changing. Whether Snapchat will be around by the end of next year, it's learning the techniques necessary to connect with potential clients and customers you're trying to win.
This is because when Periscope was first introduced, I frequently joined since my followers began to be on there. Since Periscope isn't as well-known, I instruct my live streams via Facebook Live instead.
The platform might change, but the techniques I acquired through Periscope were helpful when I used Facebook Live. This means you might be annoyed that the media you invest time creating could be old this year. However, the truth is that every platform teaches you the knowledge you require to succeed regardless of the other media that emerge soon. It's all dependent. It's all relative.
The bottom line is don't take a risk on an online platform because you like it. You're investing in creating a community that benefits your users, too.
2. Incorporate video.
Some people HATE videos. And I get it. It used to make me freak out as well. Today, video chats are one of my favourite methods of communicating. Fear can overcome you.
Video is the growth of digital content, and it's difficult to argue at the moment.
Nearly every social networking platform, including Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter/Periscope, and so on -- integrates video (and frequently live video) in their offerings.
If you're trying to determine which platform you should be using entirely, consider which one you could rock videos on in a manner that is comfortable for you.
Some suggestions:
Facebook Live
Instagram Stories
Uploading videos (or Facebook live clips) on your Instagram account
Live video streaming on Twitter
Snapchat
3. Which platform is most effective for promoting your brand?
If you're an artist or graphic design professional, Twitter may not be your primary source of income. However, Instagram or Snapchat could be a good fit because they're primarily visual.
If you're a motivational or inspirational speaker, It might be worth scheduling twice-weekly Facebook Live classes rather than uploading recycled quotes on your Instagram since you know they will be more meaningful to your followers. It's not just about what you like but also about which platform showcases the best aspects of your brand
Tumblr media
Do I have to quit using my social networks on other websites?
Not necessarily. After you've found the top one or two methods of engagement the other, that doesn't mean that you have put everything in flames and then burned it all down.
You're still able to keep all of your accounts (who is aware of how things could change in the future, or the preferences of your followers could change! ). However, you don't have to be active everywhere once you've identified your leading Social Media platforms.
If you don't make a post on Twitter for one year, your company could still be solid and healthy. There's an opportunity that nobody will notice or even notice.
And, think about how much effort you could put into those channels that are significant to your target audience if you eliminate the unnecessary content robbing you of a few wasted hours each week—# no brainer.
Ultimately, it's about being mindful of what you do to improve your company. The majority of times, the feeling of overwhelm in business stems because you're trying to accomplish numerous things, many of which aren't even required to succeed.
what's the significance of social networks?
Since many people have asked me for my personal opinions on this subject (note that no one has asked me to give my thoughts on it), I thought I'd write a post about it.
Here's my opinion on what the purpose of social media could be:
Social media can help you expand your audience and increase sales of your products or services.
However, both of these are results of achieving the primary objective of social platforms.
To connect and engage your audience.
Instead of using social networks as a method to "convert", individuals consider it the opportunity to form bonds with people. The bond you issue is usually the thing that will turn them into existing customers or subscribers in the future because they trust you and like you.
In my opinion, you should utilize social media to create a community around your brand and make it more human rather than a method to turn someone into a buyer.
What are the ways you could do this?
Gary Vayner chuck just started the #5MinClub to foster community and engage. Gary Vayner chuck posts an Instagram post in which he offers his entrepreneurial view on anything. Everyone who posts their opinions on that subject in the comments within the first five minutes (using the hashtag #5minclub) is eligible to win fantastic cash prizes Gary offers.
The audience is being taught to connect to him...and as a consequence, they're engaging with one another (as they might want to react to others' remarks, whether they agree or not).
For a different idea, I also host a Facebook Live class on my Facebook Page each week to stay in touch with my friends and share some helpful information. It's an opportunity for me to interact in real-time and "in real life," instead of writing a blog article that doesn't convey my persona.
And Kayla Hollatz is the host of the weekly Twitter chat that brings her followers together each week to have a heartfelt business discussion. Other members can join their Facebook group to ask questions or share ideas. Some may post behind-the-scenes footage via Snapchat as well. Instagram Stories throughout the day.
However, those who use social media are typically not on every platform (when they are, you'll be able to bet on a team of folks running this show behind in the background).
Most people who excel on social media are only really skilled in one or two areas and don't worry about the rest. That's the main reason why I chose to write this blog. Ensure you can cut out the extra and focus on aspects that make you happy and actual outcomes for your business.
Anyone will inform you that "you want to increase the number of likes for your page on Facebook", but when you don't know how this will increase the number of people who are an active and profitable audience, Why are you doing it?
Simply put, Do not just aim to increase your following as if it's essential. Concentrate on creating high-quality content and engaging on just two platforms, and the crowd will be there.
It took me a while to realize that unless you take your social media strategy seriously, it's easy to get caught up in the trap of thinking that you have to be everywhere (which can dilute your image and reduce your possibilities of success).
That is why I am bringing you to my last point...
Social media isn't about email lists.
Social media is the perfect tool for displaying YOU, your style, and the amazing community you can create to promote your business However, it's not an email list. The list will likely not give you the same outcomes (revenue-wise) as an email list can.
Here's what I am referring to...
As I began my web design business, I was about social media. I tweeted. I Facebooked. I even staged gorgeous Instagram pictures because it was what most famous designers did.
It took me a LONG period every week to map everything out, plan my content, and then take my pictures. But I still had no inquiries despite the ad-hoc posting in my calligraphy (to be confirmed was kind of" the thing" a couple of years back).
My social media following was increasing. However, my bank account was not. Then, I began focusing on my mailing list and utilized social media to create a community rather than make people pay me.
It worked In the next few days, my design studio began to be booked months ahead of time with clients. And I was able to utilize social media to be a kid and create more bonds without the need to make it the most effective marketing tool.
First and foremost, increase the number of email subscribers you have. Also, focus on providing valuable content to your subscribers every week. Engaging your subscribers will soon create a community of passionate customers.
After that, move towards social media. But, as I said, there are only two platforms on which you can be involved and deliberate instead of being too scattered and apathetic with just one.
My primary method to interact and connect is through the live Facebook posts I host every month on my FB page and within my FB group. But, I'd love to expand the communities I build on Instagram because I know my friends are on there, and I love the creative possibilities it provides when I am willing to give up on the idea of perfection.
