Here I am back on my John Marston BS.
I pointed this out before ab how ppl loved calling John “watered down” but I’m also seeing people forget that he was also put on a very high fucking pedestal and had no idea how to handle it. In other words; he was the gifted kid who got burnt out after everyone expected everything from him. John never expected to be seen as such. He actually preferred to not be held to such a degree. I’m sick and tired of people feeding into the “John’s a golden boy” “John’s a piece of shit” narrative. Clearly these people have only seen RDR2 and have no clue about everything in RDR1 and yes I’m giving an attitude so y’all better catch it.
Here’s my John Marston character analysis and this is only about one aspect of him. (Wait until you see every other aspect bc I’ve literally dissected this man like a frog oops)
He never fucking asked for it. In fact, he didn’t expect jack shit from anybody. If anything, people used him. People used him up. You see it plainly in rdr1, he’s being used to hunt down his old partners. To find his old partners he’s gotta ask the sheriff, what does the sheriff do? He uses him to handle some lowlife gangs around the county. The sheriff ACCIDENTALLY—not even voluntarily—reveals someone that ends up somewhat helping him out. West Dickens—and what does he do? Uses him. Seth? Uses him. Travels over to another country, what do they do? USE HIM!
Okay, so rdr2—if you couldn’t get the picture already—John was one of Dutch’s MAIN PAWNS. That man raised John to USE HIM. John was young and had lots of energy and he was gullible enough to let Dutch do whatever with his naivety. The most fucked up thing about all of it, not only about how (almost) everyone saw him as a pawn, not as a genuine friend, saw him only for his uses;
John didn’t care. He knew he was being used but he didn’t care. Yes it bothers him and again he’s fully aware he’s being ran around in circles by all these people; it doesn’t matter. He sees himself as someone who is replaceable. He’s expendable. It’s whatever. He was always made to think this and perhaps he knew that it was his fate to be all used up and thrown out like it was nothing. And that’s what ended up happening.
No, he wasn’t a perfect father. He SHOULDVE done much much better about that. Just for that I let anti’s breathe a little because in Jack’s younger years, hell no John wasn’t a good father! John was in denial, busy trying to live up to his dreams of being someone he isn’t. On that note, John slowly realized that Abigail and Jack were probably the only ones that didn’t see him as a pawn; they just wanted him to be present and that causes him to do a 180. To him, it was worth dying for them. Maybe he felt as if he owed them a debt that could never be repayed—it’s almost like he expresses this to Jack a dozen different times. “I’m sorry, Son. I’m not going anywhere.” And “I know I wasn’t around a lot for you but I’m trying to make up for that”. He becomes viscerally aware of the damage of his absence (as he should) and it becomes something he fears he’ll never get to make up for.
Abigail never wanted to use him. She just wanted HIM. Jack—OF COURSE never wanted to use him, he wanted a FATHER. Honorable mention, but Arthur never saw him as a pawn either. In fact, he was well aware of how John was being treated, even mentioning it to him canonically, along the lines of, and I’m loosely quoting this, “At first you’ll be a prize pony until you become a work horse”. These people become so important to John—among others such as Bonnie, Charles, Sadie, even Uncle—because they never tried to use. him. John was more than expendable to them, he was worth something to them and for that he loved them and felt as if he would owe them for eternity.
I truly can’t believe some of y’all completely miss that whole point because it’s written EVERYWHERE it’s literally how John’s story goes and we experience it with him. His story is so fucking tragic and yes, while Arthur was the prime example of “having a doomed narrative from the start”, people don’t talk about how John is literally in the same boat. That man was always doomed, by his friends, the people he would try to call family—he was raised all the way up just to be put down…. THAT’S the story of John fucking Marston.

Rescue: Kieran Duffy X Male Reader
Tumblr media
Pronouns: he/him, Reader referred to as ‘‘boy’ and ‘man’ Physical Sex: None Mentioned Rating: T/Violence, Language Warnings: Kidnapping, torture, graphic wound, Colm O’Driscoll sucks, Dutch is questionable, very fluffy Kieran Duffy Summary: Kieran finds out you were kidnapped by the O’Driscolls during a train robbery gone wrong and he goes with the gang to rescue you.
The sound of the horses coming back to camp always fills Kieran with relief. People come back alive and the horses are always in need of pats and a good brushing. Your horse in particular always comes to him right away for an oatcake. So when Kieran turns around to watch everyone that went on the job ride in, his heart sinks when you’re not with them. Dutch could have sent you out to fence what you got from the train, you could’ve gone out hunting or something, but you always have someone tell him when you leave camp. You know he worries easily, so it’s usually Charles or Arthur that saunters over to mention where you are. But, as he distractedly brushes at Brown Jack’s coat, Dutch, Arthur, Charles, Javier, Micah, and Sean all remain by the path as they speak in low voices that Kieran can barely hear.
He wanders closer to the group, pretending to fuss over Silver Dollar now.
“We can’t leave ‘em, Dutch.” Arthur says.
“I know, son. I know, and we will.” Dutch puts a hand on Arthur’s shoulder and looks around at the group. “That boy is gonna be fine.”
“We shouldn’t wait, Dutch.” Charles says, his voice firm as he stares straight at his boss.
“Who knows what those O’Driscoll dogs are gonna do with ‘em.” Sean says.
“The kid’ll be fine.” Micah groans.
“Yes he will.” Dutch nods. “And we will go after him at first light, boys. You have my word.”
Kieran’s hand has tightened on the brush he’s holding. His face is pale and his heart is beating too fast to feel. O'Driscolls?
“Mister Van Der Linde?” He asks, stepping out of the cluster of horses.
Dutch turns to him, face falling when his eyes land on the stable boy. “Oh, son. I am truly sorry.”
“Where is he?” Kieran asks, already knowing the answer but needing to hear it again.
“We got jumped by the O’Driscolls on the way back.” Charles says as Dutch hangs his head. “They took him.”
Kieran opens his mouth to speak, but nothing comes out.
“I ain’t waitin’ for mornin’, Dutch.” Arthur says, pulling himself onto his horse. “The kid deserves better than that.”
“Those is bad men, cowpoke.” Micah drawls. “Might get yourself killed in the process.”
“Then why don’t you help fer once, ya lazy bastard.”
“Boys, that is enough.” Dutch says. “I care for that young man, I do. But we can not go running into a fight like this.”
“I’m with Arthur.” Charles says, mounting his horse again.
Javier nods. “I’ll go. He’d do it for me.”
Kieran swallows his nerves. “I’m goin’.”
Micah laughs. “Oh, what a rescue!”
“Shut up, ya lousy turd!” Sean scoffs. “I’m going too, Arthur.”
“You boys, you be careful.” Dutch says. “Get that boy and get home.”
As they ride out, Kieran gets the occasional reassuring word from the gang. Charles stays with him through the ride, making sure he’s alright. But he’s not. Kieran knows exactly what O’Driscolls do with prisoners. He knows that if Colm is there, your pain will be dragged out, but if it’s Tom watching things you’ll be dead by the time your rescue arrives. Colm will tie you up and cut away at your will until you give Dutch up or you die. Tom will hang you in the stables and whoever took over his old duties for the O'Driscolls will clean it up.
“Slow up to the left here!” Arthur says.
The gallop of the group slows as they enter a line of trees. They stash the horses and grab their weapons, ready to sneak into the camp. Kieran recognizes it. It’s one of the bigger camps, so it might be Colm here and you might be alive. Branwen steps nervously as Kieran draws a rifle from his saddle, poor thing knows his rider is nervous.
“We go in quiet.” Arthur instructs. “Charles and I are gonna go along the perimeter, take out who we can.”
“You all should wait until they see us, then you rush in and take them by surprise.” Charles adds.
“We ain’t here to kill O’Driscolls, we’re kere ta get the kid.” Arthur looks over everyone’s faces. “Ya find ‘em, ya get the hell out.”
“He’s-they probably got him in the stables.” Kieran points to the structure on the north end.
“Alright.” Arthur sighs. “You get a chance, you get in there.”
Kieran nods, a determined look on his face.
Arthur and Charles split, circling around the edge of camp. They take out the stragglers that they come across with knives or arrows and move on. Everything is going smoothly, so they move in and take out a few more stragglers. Then Arthur is spotted and he draws his gun. The stealthy invasion turns into a firefight, Javier and Sean run in and take cover behind some boxes. Kieran takes his chance and runs as fast as he can towards the stables. His rifle is clutched tightly to his chest and his legs burn with every step. He stops to shoot the O’Driscoll by the stable door and rushes inside. When he turns the corner into the open space between the stalls his breath hitches.
Colm O’Driscoll himself holds you upright, a gun to your head. Your hair is wet with blood, your skin is peppered with bruises, and you are leaning into Colm to alleviate what looks like a badly hurt leg. Colm’s twisted face is filled by a smile as he pulls the hammer back on his revolver.
“Well, well, if it isn’t the stable boy.” Colm chuckles. “The traitor.”
“Let him go.” Kieran says with a shake in his voice, his knuckles turning white as he grips his rifle.
“Never took you for the brave sort.” Colm steps backwards towards one of the exterior doors. “I remember you… Kieran, that’s it. You never quite did anything right.”
Kieran takes a step forward. He freezes when Colm presses the barrel right against your cheek, his cold laugh filling the stables. His grip around your middle tightens as he reaches the door, his arm pushing against a bad bruise and making you wince.
“You ain’t gettin’ outta here!” Kieran says.
Colm chuckles. “We will see about that, boy.”
The O’Driscoll leader puts his back to the door, a sly smirk on his face. He releases his grip on you and a second later there’s a sharp pain in your side. Colm back out of the door as you fall to the floor, clutching the knife in your stomach. Kieran rushes to you, dropping his rifle in favor of holding your head off of the dirty ground.
“Go after him.” You say, wincing as Kieran tries to lay you down more comfortably.
“I ain’t goin’ nowhere.” He says. “You’re gonna be fine.”
He leans down and presses a kiss to your forehead. You can feel a tear drop onto your face as he does.
“You can’t let him get away, Kieran.” You gasp from the pain. “We’ve been hunting him for months, you can’t just-”
“I ain’t leavin’ ya here.” He presses his hand on your cheek and lightly strokes his thumb across the blood-caked skin. “I love you, I ain’t leavin’ ya.”
“Kieran, you gotta-”
“I ain’t goin’!” He says shakily as the tears roll down his cheeks. “I’m stayin’ right here, sweetheart. Right here.”
The shots from outside die down and there’s a few faint yells between the Van Der Lindes. Kieran holds you, just looking over your face, when Arthur bursts through the door with Charles behind him. They join Kieran at your side and Charles looks over the wound.
“He’s gonna be fine, Kieran.” Charles says, putting a hand on his shoulder. “It’s not too bad, we just need to get him back to camp.”
“Alright.” Arthur says. “Come on, kid. Let Charles take him.”
Arthur pulls Kieran away and Charles helps you up. You ride with Charles back to camp because he knows how to handle your injury better, but Kieran hardly takes his eyes off of you. When the group ride into camp they’re met with Strauss and his tonics. Charles helps you down and hands you off. Kieran trails behind and lingers as long as Strauss is treating you. He takes off his hat and fiddles with it as he paces. Charles and Arthur check on him, Mary-Beth brings him food that he declines, Micah makes a comment that he hardly hears but he’s sure it’s cruel.
“Mister Duffy.” Strauss says as he pulls the privacy cover back from his station. “He will be just fine, I recommend bed rest for the next few days.”
Kieran nods.
“You may take him to his tent now.” Strauss says, then he holds a finger up at the man. “Slowly. Very slowly.”
“Yes, sir.” Kieran nods, putting his hat back on his head.
You’re already sitting up when Kieran ducks into the tent. He helps you up and gives a string of apologies with every wince or groan. Very carefully, he lays you down on your bedroll.
“Do ya need anythin’? Food or somethin’?” He asks as he sets his hat down on the small table where he’d put yours when you got back earlier.
You shake your head. “Can you just stay with me, Kieran?”
“Of, uh, of course.” He takes his gun belt off in a hurry and lays down next to you, careful as he puts an arm over your bruised body and softly rests his head on your chest. “I was real worried.”
You sigh. “I know. But I’m fine.”
“You ain’t fine.” Kieran mumbles into your shirt.
“As long as you’re here, I’m perfectly fine.” You run your fingers through his hair.
Kieran clings to you a little tighter and you make yourself not wince for his sake. Kieran falls asleep fast, his rush from worry dying down now that you’re holding him again. You lay awake for a while to think about what happened, all the things Colm did to try and get you to rat on Dutch. You were strong and didn’t breathe a word, but you don’t have to be anymore. You have Kieran again, you can rest.

Thinking about Sky talking to little Legend about his powers and to find aspects he appreciates about them, like "Well, my wings were really cumbersome at first, but once I figured out how to fly I grew to love them," and then Sky goes home or something, and Malon comes out of the house just in time to find tiny rabbit Legend about to jump off the roof trying to fly.
Sky gets a *very* loud phonecall from Malon shortly thereafter
“Come on Ledge, I’m sure there’s something you like about being a bunny. Just tell me one thing, okay?”
Legend crossed his arms and pouted in the way only little kids could, looking grumpily at the floor, pointedly away from Sky’s face.
“Nothing,” he moped. “Twi’s is better. Bunnies can’t do anything. Wolves have teeth an’ big fur an’ long tails an’ can run.”
Sky smiled. “Well rabbits can run too, and hop! Wolves can’t hop.”
“But they don’t need to! They’ve got the other stuff! Bunnies just have dumb stuff!” Legend groaned, flopping back into the floor.
He was silent for a couple moments, then put an arm over his face.
“Why’d I have to be a bunny,” he mumbled.
Sky sighed, and sat down on the floor next to Legend, looking at the young boy pouting on the floor. He leaned close, and watched him for a couple moments before saying anything.
“Do you want to know a secret?” he asked, and Legend peered up at him.
Sky motioned him close, and Legend lifted his arm off his face as he sat back up, looking intensely curious as he leaned in.
“...I used to not like having wings,” Sky whispered, and Legend’s eyes grew huge.
“Whaaat? But-but— wings!” Legend gasped, and Sky smiled. “They’re so cool! An’ big and stuff!”
“That’s true,” Sky admitted, “but at first they were too big. It was impossible to do anything with them, I hated having them out and didn’t even like to look at them... but then I learned to fly.”
Legend cocked his head, and Sky extended his wings, resting the red and white feathers out so Legend could look at them closer.
“And I learned to love them,” Sky continued with a fond smile. “And I bet you’ll learn to love being a bunny someday too.“
Legend ran a hand over a wing, admiring the purple and yellow feathers among the red and white, and looked thoughtful.
“...maybe,” he admitted, and Sky smiled.
(...)
“Legend? Legend honey, are you in here?” Malon called, looking around the kitchen.
She hadn’t seen her second-youngest since Sky had left nearly an hour ago, and was starting to get a bit worried. It wasn’t uncommon for him to get absorbed in something and turn invisible without thinking, but he still made noise while doing so.
“Legend?” she called again, and wandered out the back door. “Are you out here?”
“Hi mom!”
Malon froze in her steps, and slowly turned her head around, up at the house behind her.
And up on the very top of their roof, sat a little pink bunny.
“Legend!” Malon gasped, and her son twitched his nose. “What— get down from there! You could hurt yourself!”
Legend shook his head. “Nope! I won’t get hurt! I’m gonna fly!”
Malon felt equal exasperation and fearful disbelief go through her. “Sweetie do not try to fly, you’ll fall!”
“No I won’t!” Legend called back, “Sky said he didn’t like his powers til’ he learned to fly, so I’m gonna fly!”
“Legend, stay right there until I can come get you,” Malon said firmly, and Legend thumped his back leg angrily.
“No! I’m gonna FLY!”
And he leapt off the roof, flapping his tiny ears as he went.
Malon sprung into action as Legend plummeted towards the ground, who, once realizing he really couldn’t fly, let out a screech of terror. She leapt forwards and caught her tiny son in her arms just in time, and sank to the ground, the pink puffball that was currently Legend breathing a bit erratically.
“Young man, we do not pitch ourselves off roofs in this house!” Malon managed to get out, giving the bunny cupped in her arms a stern look.
Legend shrank down a bit, and looked significantly cowed.
“Sorry mom,” he said quietly. “Sky said it worked for him.”
Malon sighed.
“You and Sky are not the same person honey,” she said gently, and gave him a hug. “Sky has his powers, and you have yours. And I promise you that being a rabbit is just as amazing as having wings, or spraying ice or being a wolf. Okay?”
“Okay,” Legend mumbled.
Malon stood up and sighed again.
“Well. Normally you wouldn’t get dessert for quite some time after a stunt like that, but I think you learned your lesson enough. But if I ever find you up there again you will be in serious trouble mister,” she said sternly, then gave Legend another quick hug.
Then she made a beeline for the phone, a determined gleam in her eye.
(...)
Riiiing.
Riiiing.
Riii—
“Oh, hi Malon! I was about to call you, I think I left my jacket—“
“SKY.”
Sky froze in terror at the tone of voice, and gulped, the sound of it something that scared him more than anything else he’d ever faced in all his years as a superhero.
Warriors, who was standing nearby, looked over at him and mouthed hang up.

nara glares at her phone: Can’t. I have to go on a school trip with my son. Do not disturb me when I’m with my son.
“just who does he think he’s talking to” she says aloud. she’s aware of this school field trip jungkook is talking about. both alina and eunwoo notified her about it two weeks prior and because she’s not that heartless, she gave permission for either one of them to tag along with their child except jungkook never informed her.
she wants to write him up for not coming to work or fire him for being rude to her but she’s getting too ahead of herself. just this ONCE she’ll let him off the hook because she’s sure that ever since the charity event, you won’t spare him a glance.
“what’s up man! hey princess~” says eunwoo as he excitedly gets on the bus and greets all the passengers, including you but not chaeyoung. “over here, papa!” yells areum as she pushes past seol and jungkook to hug her dad.
“hi uncle eunwoo!”
“hi seol. here, you two sit together and we’ll sit right here, okay?”
“no, papa. wanna sit next to you”
“okay, okay”
“where’s mama?”
“mama isn’t feeling too good today. you’ll see her later, okay princess?”
eunwoo takes a seat across from jungkook and seol so that the two can talk to each other. although he’s here for his daughter, he’s also here to support his little brother with hopes that everything goes smoothly.
“good morning parents~” says chaeyoung. “my name is ms. chaeyoung or ms. chae and this is ms. y/n. we’re so happy to have you all board the bus for our field trip to the aquarium. when we arrive there we’re going to give each child a colorful band. so my class will have green bands and y/n’s class will have purple bands. parents, thank you so much for coming with us. moments like these mean the world to children and we cannot express how grateful we are that you’re here. alrighty, let’s go to the aquarium!!!! you guys ready??”
“YEAAAAHHHHH!!!!!” cheers all the kids on the bus.
“what do you want to see areum?” seol asks as he leans over his father’s lap to talk to his sister, cousin, and best friend all in one. “i wanna see nemo and dory. what about you seol?”
“i wanna see a shark! a-a-a big shark like this” he extends his arms as far as they could do to indicate the size of the shark. both jungkook and eunwoo are smiling at their little ones, listening to them converse brings so much joy to their hearts and they hope their friendship never ends, eunwoo especially.
at the front of the bus, chaeyoung points out another disturbance regarding yours and jungkook’s relationship.
“oh, so it’s ms. y/n and mr. jeon now?”
you roll your eyes. “i don’t want to talk about it, chae. drop it”
“fine fine. maybe you should get with eun-ji’s dad”
“he’s married, chae”
“….or her mom”
“not funny. i’m just enjoying myself right now. i’m not interested in anyone or anything. what about you?”
“you see dongmin’s mom? been tapping that for over a week now”
the look on your face is a mix between horrified and surprise because not only is dongmin your student but she’s supposedly in a relationship.
“you have no shame” you shake your head but chaeyoung only shrugs before saying “none at all”
the ride to the aquarium, although chatty, soon becomes quiet as most of the children fall asleep. since you have the window seat, you busy yourself by looking out the window. your eyes avert from the sky to the trees to the roads and back to the sunny blue sky.
you really hope nothing goes left today since both jungkook and eunwoo are here and you’re jungkook told his friend everything. your hypocrisy, your rejection, and a slammed door in his face. eunwoo probably thinks you’re a sadistic bitch who enjoys breaking fragile hearts when really you’re just confused. so, so confused.
“okay everyone, we’re here!!” cheers chaeyoung as she instructs both the parents and children to get off the bus before splitting their classes. you begin to check the names of all 15 of your students before giving all the kids, including your parents, a purple band before heading inside the aquarium.
“hi everyone!” says a young lady that works at the aquarium. “welcome to the SEALIFE busan aquarium. who here is excited to see some aquatic life?”
“MEEEEEE!!! ME ME ME!!!”
“okay okay. i’m gonna have you all follow me and teach you guys a couple things about our big blue sea here in korea. you all ready?”
“YEAAAAHHHHH!!!!”
“alright, c’mon everyone. our first stop is going to be the starfish!”
the tour inside the aquarium is fascinating. its always been fascinating. your students pull you along to show them cute fish and sharks and you couldn’t contain your laughter when all of your kids were excited to see nemo and dory.
“ms. y/n!!!” cheers seol as he runs up to you and grabs your hand. “look, look! it’s a jellyfish!!”
“i see seol” you say as you allow the 5-year old to pull you in his direction. you both look at the jellyfish he before you’re pulled elsewhere which made seol a little sad but jungkook makes the him feel all better when he kneels down to watch the jellyfish with him.
~🫧
It is really fun. Maybe this is what he needed to calm his mind a little because the aquarium is so beautiful. Jungkook Cannot lie because he’s also fascinated by the big fishes and the beautiful water.
He wants to be the most attentive dad to his little child because he knows it. He didn’t have that luxury growing up, even though he was born with a golden spoon, but he never got his parents attention he never got to spend this quality time with his.
As you go away to attend to your other children, he watches the jellyfish with his little guy and eunwoo and areum are quite next to him.
“Shh look at that Seol-that fish looks like your dad.” Eunwoo jokes and Jungkook rolls his eyes. It’s a small fish with big big eyes.
“Oh Areum see your dad too?!!” Jungkook bites back smirking at the pretty looking fish. “your dad is so pretty just like a girl.” Jungkook coos.
The friends start to venture with their children and tease each other along the way and honestly, it’s really nice
Jungkook occasionally steals glances at you and he notices you look at him too. He feels so sorry for his immature behavior, but he sees guilt in your eyes too.
An hour has passed by and he thinks it’s time that he gets you alone so he can explain everything to you and then maybe you can decide what to do with the future of your relationship.
“Seol baby you come with us okay?” His friend takes a hint and decides to give jungkook some privacy so he can talk to you and maybe clear up some misunderstandings.
As Seol walks away with eunwoo and areum. Jungkook decides to approach you. his heartbeat is a mess right now.
But the truth is that he cannot get over you.
There you stand with a little girl showing her some plants in the water. You’re so maternal it’s so attractive. “Ahhh Ms yn? Can we talk?”
Jungkook says. And you look at him all surprised at his boldness. “please it’s really important. I’ll just take 10 minutes of your time.”
Reluctantly you come to him, making sure that your children are with the parents and the aquarium staff is watching over
As soon as you both come to a scheduled place, jungkook inhales.
“Look yn. I wanna take much of your time and I’m not here to make you feel overwhelmed once again, but I just thought it I should explain some things to you that you have no idea about.”
“I was forced to attend the charity dinner with her and she threatened to fire me if I refused.. I did not have a choice… plus…”
He takes a deep breath.
“I didn’t want to give in to her, but then she threatened to ruin my son’s life and then… she said that I will do everything She asked me to or she will make sure that your career is ruined and she threatened me with making sure that you lose your job and your reputation…”
He hopes that you will understand that he was helpless… “the thing is that she invited your principal on purpose so you could come and see her and I together and get the idea that I played you but the truth is that I did not..”
“She wants you to hate me… that is what’s happening… I can’t be without you and I know that I fucked up yesterday but I really like you and I can’t get over my feelings… I shouldn’t have said something. I really regret but I feel like I deserve a chance from you.”
“but if you don’t want to be with me then I completely understand, and I won’t force you and I wont disturb you anymore..”

Pick Up The Pieces
Endeavor x The Consequences of His Actions is my OTP
“My name is Toya Todoroki.”
You’re in a medical tent near the woods outside the Gunga operation when Dabi’s broadcast starts. Your injuries are minor, you’d only come to drop off another hero who wasn’t so lucky and are about to run back into the fight when your phone goes off with a special message. Like everyone else you watch in shock as the villain explains his tragic beginning and the man he blames for it, but of course you have more reason than most to be horrified by this reveal. You want to believe your daughter’s origin is still a closely-guarded secret, but it wouldn’t take much digging to discover it if someone were motivated. All you can do is stand there and pray someone will cut the feed before he can drag your family into the mess, and for a moment you dare to hope when it seems like his story is winding down.
“Oh, and how could I forget the cherry on top? After everything, the old man never learned his lesson.” Dabi holds up a picture and your heart stops. “This is Hikari, his newest kid. Her mom’s another hero named Barricade. Wonder if she would have gone through with it if she knew what happened to his firstborn.” Every face in the tent turns to silently gawk at you, you’re going to be sick.
“I…have to go,” you announce to no one in particular. Someone finally calls your name but you ignore it as you sprint into the forest with a knot of cold dread in your stomach.
You have enough sense to immediately shut down all your social media and then disappear for a bit. You’re a minor enough hero that the scandal would have blown over soon enough if not for everything else involving Endeavor. It takes three days and a lot of effort on your part before you work up the nerve to sneak into the hospital, but it’s worth the trouble. You visit your friends first, who are all happy you’ve come to wish them well but pointedly avoid looking you in the eye or acknowledging the infant on your hip. It’s one uncomfortable meeting after another, but you power through them. Your status as a hero allows you to stay past normal visiting hours, so you hang back until you’re sure a certain family of civilians have gone home. You don’t bother knocking before you open the door, your heart lodged firmly in your throat.
“Hey, Todoroki.”
You think he might be asleep until he slowly turns to look at you. “I didn’t expect you to come.” His voice is rough. Hikari’s slept through most of the day but immediately perks up when she hears her father’s voice. She reaches for him with a little whine but you glance nervously at the IV and face mask he’s wearing. “It’s fine, really,” he insists, and you cross the room to carefully pass her to him. “I’m glad to see you,” he murmurs to her and her toothless smile is so innocent it sends a real, physical pain to your chest.
Neither of you speak for a long moment. “Enji, what the fuck,” you finally blurt out. “I knew there was something bad with your kids, but I never thought…” your voice cracks. “You destroyed your son and then he came back to destroy everything! I don’t even know how to process that, but now he’s dragged her into this.”
“If I’d thought for even a moment he was still alive, I would have found him,” he muses weakly. He’s not defending himself, it’s nothing but wishful thinking from a broken man. It sounds like Endeavor, the strongest hero in the country, is on the verge of tears and it leaves a sick feeling in your stomach. “I would have saved him.”
You shake your head. “I don’t think you could. Maybe someone else, but not you.”
The two of you fall into an extremely uncomfortable silence while you watch Hikari play with the toy she brought along, a little stuffed gorilla he’d given her a few weeks ago. She smiles up at her parents and babbles out nonsense, and in your heart you know you’ll never forgive Dabi for involving her in his revenge.
“If you’d known, would we have had her?”
You shake your head. “I wouldn’t have gotten so close in the first place, she wouldn’t have existed at all.” That thought hurts more than anything else, and you take a shuddering breath.
He lets out a deep sigh. “I appreciate that you brought her here, and I understand if you want to cut ties after tonight. I won’t fight to see her, I have no right-”
You snap. “Are you kidding me?” Your voice is shrill, it takes every ounce of self control you have to keep from screaming at him. “This is your daughter, Todoroki! It’s your job to pick up the pieces and fix this for her. You are going to clean up your mess and drag that lunatic off the streets, kicking and screaming. You are going to be involved with your kid and not screw it up this time. You are going to prove that you’re not the same dumpster fire you were back then!” You grab the collar of his shirt, pure anger written on your face as you consider whether to punch a hospitalized man. “This is your responsibility, I’m not letting you off the hook so easily. You understand that?”
He almost looks relieved at your outburst  more than anything else. “I do.”
You calm your shaky breath and release him. “Good. And don’t you dare assume you can get out of this by dying. You’re in it for the long haul.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it.” Maybe it’s just a trick of the dim light, but you’d swear there’s the slightest ghost of a smile on his face. “I’ll make sure to call you once there’s a plan in place for our next move,” he promises, and you look forward to it. You stay until Hikari tires herself out and falls asleep on his chest, and you move carefully to take her back.
He offers you the stuffed gorilla when you prepare to leave, but you shake your head. “It’s her favorite. I think she’d want it to stay with you.” You give him a sharp glare, you’re not going to coddle him because of his injuries. “Get out of here soon so she can have it back.”
“Thank you,” he calls out softly as you shut the door to his room behind you. You’re not looking forward to what lies ahead, but there’s no avoiding it. The sooner this fight comes, the sooner you can end it and make things better for the future.

Day 3: Overcome / Vanity 🪞🕸️ (Inspired by the song: Mirror ft. Henri Werner, Krysta Youngs)
Part of my Occult AU -- In celebration of Halloween, Ichigo and friends decide that it would be a spooky good time to visit Urahara's Antique Shop and buy a "cursed object," to see if any of the old myths are true.
You’ll Find A Rough Script About This AU Under The Cut!
The plan is that each one of his classmates is supposed to choose an object from the shop and "try out" their own ritual at home and then report back the following day to see if the spell was legit or not.
While browsing the menagerie of oddities, Ichigo comes across an old hand mirror among the dusty, cluttered shelves and is instantly drawn to it.
"What did you pick, Kurosaki-kun," Orihime asks, her arms clasped behind her back. The boy shows off the ornate mirror to the redhead, her cute blushing face reflected back at her. "Oh, pretty,” She giggles, “Somehow, I get a creepy feeling from it." “Then, I am definitely buying this one. Thanks,” Ichigo smirks, heading towards the counter where Urahara is keeping a trained eye on him.
That night while examining the mirror, Ichigo finds a hidden scroll inside the handle. He waits til 3:33am as per the instructions, looks into the mirror and speaks the incantation aloud. Minutes pass, he tries the words again (maybe he mispronounced something), but nothing happens.
He goes to bed disappointed, but what Ichigo fails to realize is that he actually did summon Shiro. The white demon is hiding in the mirror, watching silently, keeping his presence a secret. Shiro takes his time haunting the organette day by day. Sometimes, Icihigo will hear a crack, like something breaking, or thump of something falling, but he can never pinpoint what it is because everything looks normal when he goes to check.
Sometimes, shadows creatures will pass across the walls in his house. Sometimes, things move or disappear. Sometimes, Ichigo catches a pale image of himself in the rain, in the glass of a window. He thinks that it's all just his mind playing tricks.
Yuzu is getting really unnerved by all these shenanigans. Karin thinks it's cool that their house is haunted now.
Isshin, who is more spiritually inclined than his son at this point, starts to notice something is amiss and asks Ichigo if he's sensed anything out of the ordinary.
Icihigo denies it and keeps the mirror wrapped up and hidden in a drawer.
As the end of October nears, Ichigo’s friends are still investigating curses and once again visit Urahara's shop. "Have you been getting enough sleep, kid,” Urahara asks, “You don't look so good." Ichigo nearly screams in terror at the feeling of the man’s hand on his shoulder.
“Yeah, I am fine,” he says, quickly smoothing over his reaction, “All this ghost stuff is kinda making me jumpy.”
“Haha, I guess so,” the shopkeeper laughs, a cryptic edge to his voice, “Though, I must say I am surprised that no one in your little group has been able to conjure up a real life ghost yet. I guess all these ancient relics are nothing, but junk afterall. Sorry kid, no refunds.”
Later that night, Ichigo hears a voice calling out to him and he freaks out when he discovers that the source is coming from inside the mirror.
Shiro has been feeding on the boy's fear and has built up enough vitality that he can finally reveal himself and explain what's been going on.
The demon tells the boy that he could not have been summoned without a powerful psychic, one he’s compatible with and that once summoned, he can travel anywhere so long as there's reflective surface around.
He assures Ichigo that he can only take life energy from the one who invoked his services so, his family and friends are safe.
He continues to tell the teen that he's almost strong enough to leave the glass prison that he's been stuck in, that he just needs a little more (a kiss) and he'll be set free. (and here is where the the art comes in so, this is where I am ending it for now. I hope you enjoyed reading up to this point. If I ever find the time, I might flesh this out into a full-fledged fic).

All cats go to hell
I spent the first year of her life calling the feline female living with me Le Chat (the cat)… because. Then a man came into my life and he was very surprised to know The Cat (le chat in french beeing masculine) was pregnant. I told him this cat was called Grizoune, named by the father of my three sons, who left the house without the sons and without the cat.
So we started to call her…… Grizoune. Until this day, it remained… Grizoune gave birth to two kittens, a male and a female. Having children, I fell for the perennial "can we keep at least one" and I chose the female, because my nephews have their birthdays in October and February respectively, so I offered to have the male operated and give it to my nephews as a birthday and Christmas present, with everything that would need in order to take care of it. I called the female Neby for 'Nebula Panther' because of her stains and manners. My sister’s cat, I called it temporarily Crok because she had a cat called Monsieur and the Croque-Monsieur is a snack. She renamed him Garçon, boy in English. After a few months, my sister called me to complain about Garçon’s behavior… and ask me if I would take it back because she wants to get rid of it… and I accept because… So, in my house, I have three cats; Grizoune, Neby and Garçon (whom I strive to call Crok and he comes to no longer know who he is, which amuses me infinitely) Grizoune is a pussy of a certain character, she loves hugs and getting scratched under the neck, but hates we take her in our arms. She then turns into a real fury. Neby is invisible. Most people who come to my house don’t know I have a third cat, she’s hiding in the basement where my room is. She only comes out at night, when my kids are in bed, and then she rubs and rubs and rubs herself against me purring like I could love her. When I go to bed, she lies on top of me and then I feel her vibration through the blankets. Also, she will meow in my ears until I pet her. I don’t need to pet her for long, but I MUST. Which is kind of boring. Then Crok… poor Crok. The kids' cat. Officially. My youngest boy spent his childhood carrying him ALL THE TIME in his arms, sleeping with him, giving him more affection than he needs. His younger sister did the same. The other two appreciated his docility. Crok is a HUGE cat, twice as big as his mother, but softer than a rag doll. Ironically, when my youngest goes to school or to his father's home, Crok lies down on me, a soul in pain that requires attention, instead of enjoying his freedom as a cat should. So finally, after this talk about my three cats, you’ll ask me where I was going with this?
To absolutely nothing. I’m just trying to get used to the idea that despite my aversion to animals in captivity, with my aging children, I’m most likely going to turn into a crazy cat girl, a loner, writing novels while driving her dreams at night… surround by cats...
Holy shit…

01. 𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐊𝐒 - 𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐎𝐍𝐒
Trouble, blood is in the rocky waters. Hide away your sons and daughters. Eat you alive. Levels. Better put your head on swivels. Dancing with the very devil; butter to knife. You think you're better than them, better than them. You think they're really your friends really your friends - but when it comes to the end (to the end) you're just the same as them (same as them). So let it go, let it go... That's the way that it goes. First you're in, then you're out. Everybody knows. You're hot, then you're cold. You're a light in the dark. Just you wait and you'll see - that you're swimmin' with sharks.
02. 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐄 - 𝐉𝐀𝐆𝐖𝐀𝐑 𝐓𝐖𝐈𝐍     (𝗯𝗼𝗻𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼)
Flip the switch, flip the stove, world gone mad, let's start the show. Get your kicks and let's go. If you're sad, don't let it show. Say I'm happy, I'm happy, I'm happy today - I'm happy, I'm happy, I'm happy today. They say put on a happy face. 'Cause we're tick-tock, tick-tock - ticking like a timebomb. Hey, put on a happy face, then everything's okay. Put on a happy face. Hey, put on a happy face, then everything's okay. Put on a happy face.
03. 𝐁𝐀𝐃 𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐀 - 𝐃𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐎𝐍
You'll pick somewhere that's private, where you and I can really speak. Go ahead and tell me something - that you learned in therapy. And it's almost convincing (it's almost convincing), but I've been known to go against my instincts. And I know you're performing, but it's working for me (we can talk about it in the morning). Baby, you're a bad idea, but I could do a few more years, I've got a little left in here, funny how you reappear - in the nick of time, I guess it didn't die. Can't say we didn't try, baby, we're a bad idea... fuck it, let's do it again.
04. 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊 𝐌𝐘 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐌𝐘𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐅 - 𝐁𝐄𝐁𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐗𝐇𝐀
Today went really well, I didn't wake up in a panic spell. It was fine, even though I fell - deeper and deeper into manic hell. Whoa, I'm living and I'm dreaming, trying to stay even, oh. Whoa, I'm draining for no reason - apologize, no feelings, oh. No, I don't need your help... to make me sick, to make me ill. I don't need anybody else, 'cause I can break my heart myself. I don't need your help - getting off of this carousel. I don't need anybody else - 'cause I can break my heart myself.
05. 𝐘𝐎𝐔'𝐑𝐄 𝐆𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐀 𝐆𝐎 𝐅𝐀𝐑, 𝐊𝐈𝐃 - 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐎𝐅𝐅𝐒𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆
Show me how to lie, you're getting better all the time - and turning all against the one is an art that's hard to teach. Another clever word sets off an unsuspecting herd, and as you step back into line, a mob jumps to their feet. Now dance, fucker, dance, man, he never had a chance... And no one even knew it was really only you. And now you steal away, take him out today. Nice work you did. You're gonna go far, kid. With a thousand lies and a good disguise - hit 'em right between the eyes, hit 'em right between the eyes. When you walk away, nothing more to say - see the lightning in your eyes, see 'em running for their lives.

Suit for Two (Chapter 2)
It’s a Thursday night, the place is about to close up.  Two men are talking to one another, conversing about the new employee one of them hired earlier that day.  “She sounds like a good fit here, nice job, Bill.”  “Well she seemed like she needed it either way, Henry.”  Henry chuckles, “I didn’t take you as being a good samaritan.”  “Shut up.”  “We got a full-timer, I will not shut up.”  And at that, the two men stood up, Henry after William, locking the place up.  Henry kept talking about wanting to meet the girl, while William rolled his eyes.  They each got to their separate vehicles, exchanging nods and words, and driving off to their respective beds.
Except William didn’t. He stopped a few houses away from the girl’s address.  Scoping her out, in a way.  The house was dark, and he was thankful for it.  He turned his car off, and just sat on the curb.  Staring off into what seems like nothing, as memories start flooding to him.  It takes him a minute or two to gain his composure before starting his car back up again and turning on the radio.
(Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd, 1973)
William silently hums to the song, just like his mother told him.  If only she knew.  He doesn’t understand.  He’s not simple.  He cares for Clara, but does he love her?  She bore his children, and she’s still with him, even if he doesn’t really reciprocate the feelings.  He used her, three times, for sure, but…   Why is he thinking about this right now?
William spends the rest of his drive in silence.  Eventually arriving home.  He shuts off his car, pulls out the keys, and locks it.  Walking to his front door, he relishes in the dark and silence.  Everyone is asleep.  Or should be.  He hears Michael playing a game a little too loud, but he figures if Elizabeth or Evan haven’t woken up, it’s no use telling the brat to quiet down.  William’s tired.  Still humming the song, he goes to bed.
All I want for you my son, is to be satisfied.
—
“Monday… first day on the job.  Fuck…”  Dee lit a cigarette, just being across the road from the place was nerve wracking.  Especially since it was nearly 7 AM.  She dropped her cigarette and snuffed it out as soon as she saw Mr. Afton exiting the building to eye her down.  Dee walks across the road, being careful of vehicles, and meets the man in front of the establishment.
“I see we partake in a common interest.”  Dee nods her head at the man, as he holds the door for her to follow her inside.  “Henry’ll be out soon, he’s setting up the kids with something to do.”  “There are kids here already?”  Mr. Afton replies, “Well, our kids. Henry’s daughter, my daughter, and my two sons.”  “Oh… neat.”
A man about Dee’s height walks from the hallway where Mr. Afton’s office was with a welcoming smile on his face.  His face seems to have a glowing warmth radiating from it.  “Ah!  You must be Ms. Warren, our new full-timer!  Welcome to Fredbear’s.  I know you’ve met William already, my name’s Henry Emily.”  Mr. Emily reaches a hand out towards Dee, beckoning for a handshake.  Dee takes his offer, and his hand, and shakes.  “Strong grip, you got there.  You’ll be excellent working here.”  “T-Thank you, sir.”  “Say, Bill, would you mind showing the girl around?”  William nearly rolls his eyes, but something in him decides against that.  “Sure thing, Henry. Come on kid.”  He starts walking and you have to catch up with his fast strides.
—
Eventually, the intricate, hard-to-keep-up-with tour ends, and Dee excuses herself to the restroom.  Mr. Afton nods and heads to Henry’s office to check on his kids and make sure Michael specifically is still in the place he left him.  After taking a piss, Dee looks back into the toilet and notices her urine is darker than usual.  She chalks it up to stress being the reason she hasn’t drank as much as she should be.  Anyway, she cleans up and before leaving, she pats cold water to her face to try and wake herself up some.  Along with not hydrating as much as she should, she also hasn’t been sleeping too well.
Recently, she’s been having dreams with this man that had ice-cold, blue eyes, but no other defining features.  The activities would reach from simple chatting to full-on fantasies.  He was a magic man.
(Magic Man - Heart, 1975)
He’d sometimes wait for her at a truck stop, or find her at her home.  Those eyes would stab into her own like cool steel, making her heart yearn and her mind lust and her mouth drool.  Her late mother would be there to repeat words he’s said to her, “Come on home, girl.”  He’d dip his head, his mouth meeting her ear to whisper those words to her.
But since moving back to Hurricane, those dreams only progressed.
Now, the magic man would nibble on her ear a bit.  Kissing her jaw, then her neck, then her collarbone, and so forth.  She relished herself in those dreams.  Just last night, of what few hours of sleep she managed to get, the magic man would be under her covers devouring her.  From kitten licks to her clit, to sinking his tongue into her.  He would worship her.  He would savor her as if it were his last meal.  And as she reached her climax, and all of her muscles tensed, he’d rise from underneath the sheets and meet his eyes with hers.  And then… she’d feel him sink into her delicately.
But after that, she awoke.
Dee walked from the washroom, almost bumping into Mr. Afton.  “S-sorry!”  “No need. I was looking for you. I need to know if you go by ‘Lydia’ or ‘Dee’.”  “Dee.”  “Alright, I’ll tell Henry and he’ll give you your name tag later,” he writes a note down for himself, “and I need to show you where you’ll be spending a lot of your time here, and what else you’ll be doing.”  He tears the note from his pocket-sized notepad, folds it, and places it into one of the pockets in his slacks. “Okay, come with me.”
Dee follows him, first to a maintenance closet with mops, brooms, cleaning supplies, and other miscellaneous things, and secondly to a room marked “EMPLOYEES ONLY”. He pulls out his ring of keys, finds the right one, unlocks the door, and holds the door for her as they enter. He shuts the door behind himself, and flicks on a light. The fluorescent bulb above them buzzes, and he clears his throat.
“This is where you’ll be spending a lot of time, at Fredbear’s.  I’ll be mostly with you as I’ll be showing you how the animatronics work, and what to do when they’re broken down.  I’ll show you the works, basically.  You’ll even be helping me and Henry put on the springlock suits.  Got it?”  Dee nods, hanging onto almost every word.  “Good. Any questions?”  “Sir, when do I start doing… that?”  “Well, right now I suppose.”  He grabs a box of spare parts and starts telling Dee what each one is, what some parts do, and so on.  He delves into the subject with an eagerness that seems out of character for someone like himself.  A passion that so thickly fills the air, you could cut it.  And Dee can see why.
“That’s so fucking cool…” Dee mumbles as Mr. Afton opens up a nearby locker and pulls out a metal head, later learning it’s the head of what’s called an “endoskeleton”.  Mr. Afton smirks at this comment, his ego inflating like the balloons they inflate for the weekly birthday parties held at the place.  Dee didn’t notice her anxiety fade away, but Mr. Afton sure did. He could nearly bathe in it.
There was something about the girl, but William couldn’t place it.

Horse Christmas On The Naughty List And I Regret Nothing T Shirt
Horse Christmas On The Naughty List And I Regret Nothing T Shirt
The Horse Christmas On The Naughty List And I Regret Nothing T Shirt story reported below is NOT the “A Christmas Story” that is the best Christmas movie ever. The movie spoken of is DIE HARD a Bruce Willis shoot-em-up. The true holiday fan-loved movie is the 50’s story of the 10 year old eye-glassed bullied kid (played by Peter Billingsly )who wanted a Red Ryder pump-action BB gun for Xmas despite being told by his parents and teachers and even Santa Claus ( at the Mall) that “you’ll shot your eye out kid!”..Now, that we’ve cleared that up that Darin McGavin “A Christmas Story” is truly the BEST Christmas movie ever. Especially when Alfie turns his rage on the town bully and his father opens the prize package marked FRAGILE which he pronounces Fra-gee-lee as though it is a European object d’ art. It turns out to be a lamp shaped by a sultry woman’s leg. A movie that is filled with nostalgia that marked the post WWII America in this Indiana heartland story. I will watch it at least twice these next few weeks.

This Is My Movie Watching shirts
It is agreed upon this night Christmas, 1827, between the undersigned, that the This Is My Movie Watching shirts of the Tenth Symphony, composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, first born son of Johann and Maria van Beethoven, of the city of Bonn, shall henceforth be the property of Mephistopheles, Lord of Darkness and first fallen from the grace of God. It is also understood that it is his intention to remove any signs of this music from the memory of man for all eternity.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation 34th Anniversary 1989 – 2023 Thank You For The Memories T Shirt
Dean gets to their motel and Sam’s dressed it all up, even though he spent much of the National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation 34th Anniversary 1989 – 2023 Thank You For The Memories T Shirt not wanting to celebrate. They share some jokes for the rest of the episode, clearly trying not to get teary-eyed or reminisce too much about their…well, mostly shitty lives. They share some presents, express some gratitude, drink some eggnog, and watch a game on TV. Smiling and enjoying each other’s company. I love this episode and it goes down as my favorite Christmas story because the writers did not hold back on making it bittersweet as fuck. These two poor sons of bitches have almost nothing at all – they’re sitting in a cheap motel, both their parents are dead, Dean is going to be dragged to Hell for eternity within the year, and the only reason they wake up in the morning to save other people is because they literally cannot do anything else now that they’ve been hunting for so long.

Audio
03/17/2023 Click here for Spotify or Apple Music. This is my 35th official release and honestly it comes too soon. I feel like I have enough work to justify this song but I don’t have the clout. By that I mean this track is the start of me talking about the rap game and making songs about other rappers. This is the precursor for “what now” which is an EP that drops April 14th.
“Breaking Bad” is an homage to Eminem and Dr Dre. I don’t know when Marshall will hear this. I think his fans will really like it. It’s basically a tribute to his discography. If you know Eminem’s work you’ll hear it. It gives reference to many of Marshall’s songs while giving my own perspective and the breaking bad theme. I wanted to make the song with a popular media reference that we both enjoy and goes with Em and Dre’s construct. The truth is I’ve listened to Marshall since grade school and probably know his discography better than any other artist. By consequence I “take” allot from him.
The first verse is to introduce why I’m doing this. My old artist name is Apollo. I’ve talked about it before on this blog but here is a link to the Edulution album. The hook is basically asking for a co-sign/ advance but the truth is It’s meant to be standoffish. Honestly I hope this will act as an application to be in the shady aftermath camp but I just wanted to make a track about the best duo in the game. I wanna go to shade 45 just to introduce myself, drop a nice letter and let them know it’s all love. Don’t come for me Marshall.
I’m not sexually attached to Marshall but in the song I wanted to create a type of Stan hysteria in the third verse for Marshall. It’s intentionally supposed to be fanatical so it makes Marshall think twice while being funny. “Pussy Poppin” is written and will probably come out next year along with “ scrumptious” (which is a working title). But I just wanted to point out that I sexualized my male peers before I did it to women.
The vocals were recorded at Crack Horse Recording in Lansing Michigan by TheyCallMeHeat. The track was mixed and mastered by Sam Peters at La Luna recording studio in Kalamazoo Michigan. The Beat is by tantubeats.com. The cover art was made by ArtworkGang from Fiverr. You can stream or download the track wherever music is sold. Thank you for your support. Be sure to follow because new music is released every week!
You can see me talk about this blog post and next week's release from the last Sunday Update

Come on dawg, give it a chance What would it take, to make you advance Cuz I know you aren’t afraid, to take a stan Let me give you a little motivation to do what you can You can’t break bad without a chemist I am the one who knocks at the door of your business I’m a rider for the sound and hits, a writer and a scientist Like Jesse with it, cuz it’s time for science bitch
I remember get’n high in highschool listen’n to “Rain Man” For the first time, think’n we was brain dead High as a kite smoke’n listen to “Kim” Think’n “Is it gay to touch another man’s ass with your fist?” We met Brady, gotta guilty conscious Bought into the metaphors, melodies, constructs Love watch’n Em go off on the mic And hearin what beat Dr. Dre had derived Learned how to square dance (square dance with me)  and get down to business  How we ain’t got no time to play around, what is this  Say goodbye to Hollywood, cuz my dad’s gone crazy Would you please stand up for the real slim shady I think we’re approaching an age of the gross Just another episode on the yellow brick road If you’re proud to be out of my mind and out of control One more time, you know how it goes
I wanna say this shit right now while this fuck’n weed is in me I love you dawg, now let’s go make history  I could’a wrote a diss to see if you’d respond offensively Rather be a friend to me, don’t make me your enemy Cuz you know my Machiavelli  He lives on in the intelligently  Crafted written legibly  Poetry that I’m leveraging  I’m ball’n like Pluto Ya Gaia and Blue know Wit your cool flow I’ve fall’n for you, like Bruno And wanna suck Shady’s dick, like Ken Kaniff Get it back from Shaggy, while he’s take’n a shit That’s right pumpkin, you woke up to a blumpkin I wanna share the world with you and all your fuck shit (Marshall)  I bet your more afraid to love another man Take him by the hand, and make him understand (I love you) I love you Marshall, it don’t gotta be like this  We could run away together back where Dr. Dre lives

Inside a bedroom with nothing other than hero memorabilia, a skinny boy in his middle-to-late teens and average height began to wake up from his slumber. He had fluffy and curly green bush-like hair, fair skin, green eyes, and freckled cheeks. Overall he had a plain look.
He got out of bed and began walking around his room toward his dresser. After a few seconds, the boy collects all of his clothes and leaves his room to go to the bathroom and get ready. As he is, two older, similarly looking people see him from where they are at a table.
"Morning, son." An older man with curly black hair, slightly tanned skin, freckled cheeks, and red eyes called out to the younger boy.
The man is wearing a black long-sleeve shirt under a white lab coat with blue jeans and socks.
The teen tiredly turns towards the man and gives him a wave.
"Morning, dad. Morning, mom." The teen tells his parents with a half-awake smile while waving hello.
"Good morning Izuku. Are you ready for school today? You said your class's career aptitude test results come in today." An older short, plump woman with light skin, green eyes, and long green hair with some of it tied in a messy bun says to the boy.
The woman is wearing a white shirt under a pink long-sleeve v-neck shirt with a blue skirt that goes to her kneecaps and white slippers.
"Yeah, our teacher told us that they should be arriving today. So, that's exciting." Izuku yawns while rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
"Well, after school, why don't you come to my lab? I have a surprise for you that I think you'll love." Izuku's father tells him.
"Alright, dad," Izuku tells him with a smile before entering the bathroom.
Izuku's mom lets out a content sigh before smiling at her husband.
"Have I ever told you how thankful I am that Izuku's out of Aldera?" She asks her husband despite already knowing the answer.
"Yes, Inko, you've told me this for three years now after I returned from overseas to work on a new project." Her husband tells her.
"Well, I'm sorry if I'm being repetitive, Hisashi, but it's nice to see how much Izuku's mood has improved since he entered high school. He's smiling a lot now." Inko tells her husband with a playful glare.
"Yeah, now, if only he would make some friends outside my coworkers' kids," Hisashi tells her, causing Inko to smile at him.
"Don't worry, dear. He just needs a little more time." Inko tells him in a soothing tone before taking another sip of her mug.
Hisashi sighs, knowing his wife is right.
"You're right, honey." Hisashi agrees with her while looking at the ceiling with a smile.
-------------------
Izuku is in the bathroom looking in the mirror while muttering.
"Alright, you can do this. The career results aren't what you have to go with. They are only there to help guide you."
The boy is attempting to pump himself up for the school day. After a few more seconds of doing this, Izuku grabs his toothbrush and begins brushing his teeth. However, he continues his muttering while cleaning his teeth.
"But what if I end up *brush* getting horrible career opti-*brush*. Will that represent my work level in general?" He continues muttering things like these to himself for a couple of minutes while brushing his teeth.
After brushing his teeth, he gets dressed and leaves the bathroom.
He leaves the bathroom now dressed in a sleeveless black vest over a white long-sleeve shirt with a red tie and grey pants.
After getting dressed, he sits at the table with his parents for breakfast.
"So, are you excited for your last year of high school?" Hisashi asks his son as they eat.
Izuku swallows his food and then says.
"Yeah, I'm almost done, and then it's off to be a hero."
Hisashi grins at his son while Inko has a bittersweet smile on her face.
"Attaboy, never give up on your dream. I didn't get to where I am by giving up halfway on my dream. Be sure to come to my lab today. Trust me; it'll help you a lot if you do." Hisashi confidently tells his son before taking another bite of his breakfast.
Izuku nods before finishing his breakfast and getting up to leave.
"Bye, mom. Bye, dad. I love you guys. I'll see you after school, dad." He tells his parents after getting a pair of red shoes with white soles and black laces on and grabbing his bag.
"Have a good day, sweetie," Inko calls to her son with a smile as Izuku leaves.
She then looks at her husband in worry.
"Are you sure you want to go through with this, Hisashi? I mean, those nomus are dangerous, and I'm sure you can find another way to help Izuku become a hero." Inko tells her husband with obvious worry in her tone.
Hisashi gives his wife a calming smile before telling her.
"Don't worry, Inko. Izuku will be okay. His determination hasn't wavered despite what everyone else told him. He's two of a kind." Hisashi says with an attempted soothing tone.
"But he hasn't even gone to a hero school yet. He's not properly trained!" Inko exclaims to her husband.
Hisashi looks at Inko with calm eyes despite her outburst.
"Inko, trust me. I know this will do nothing but help Izuku in the end." Hisashi tells his wife while reaching across the table and putting a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Inko starts to tear up and bites her lip in worry.
"I know. This will let Izuku finally accomplish his dream. I should be happy about that, but I don't want my baby to be in danger." Inko tells her husband with tears.
"I know, but Izuku isn't a little kid anymore. He's old enough to be making his own decisions. And that decision is to follow his dream of becoming a hero. All we can do is continue to support him however we can." Hisashi tells Inko soothingly.
Inko accepts Hisashi's words and calms down.
"You're right. You're sure he'll be okay, though, right? Our baby will be okay while doing this?" Inko asks her husband.
Hisashi gives her a calm look.
"I won't lie to you and say he won't get hurt. That's part of his dream job. However, with my team's project, he'll be safer than the average pro hero." Hisashi tells his wife with a smile, causing Inko to calm down and smile at him.
"I can't believe this day has really come," Inko tells her husband honestly.
"You can blame my genetics on that, dear. My family is known for never being willing to give up." Hisashi tells her with a closed eyes smile.
Inko gives him a look before telling him in an annoyed tone.
"That's not something to be proud of, Hisashi."
-------------------
As this conversation happens, Izuku leaves his home and goes outside, revealing that his family lives on the top floor of a large apartment complex. Izuku runs down the stairs of the complex towards the parking lot.
When he gets to the parking lot, he runs toward a green motor scooter with a black helmet resting on the seat. Izuku straps the helmet on his head and starts his scooter before driving off.
Within a few minutes of driving, Izuku finds himself having to stop due to traffic. Izuku moves to the bike lane and drives forward to get a closer look at the cause of the traffic. When he does, he sees that a crime is in progress. Much to his excitement. He gets off his scooter and takes off his helmet to rest it on the seat before running off to see who's fighting.
When he gets there, he sees a giant man with a shark-like head fighting on top of train tracks against multiple heroes.
The man has light skin, brown hair in dreadlocks on the back of his head, and a brown goatee under his shark head.
He wears a torn-up black jacket that exposes most of his torso and light blue jeans that are surprisingly untorn.
Izuku pushes his way to the front of the crowd that formed to watch the fight in time to hear someone talk about what happened.
"So, what did the big guy do?" Someone in the crowd asks another person curiously.
"He snatched a purse but got cornered by the heroes around pretty quickly." Another person in the crowd explains.
"A Quirk like that, and the guy is a common purse snatcher? Such a waste." The onlooker that asked the question shakes their head in disappointment.
The man roars as he slams his fist into a tower, causing it to fall towards the onlooking crowd. Some people back away in panic, but before it can fall in front of them, someone moves under it and catches it with their bare hands.
That person is a muscular man with light skin and white spiky slicked back hair behind a caution tape-colored headband.
The man wears a long-sleeve dark blue vest with dark grey buttons that expose most of his torso, purplish-blue jeans with grey streaks on the outer legs, and black boots. On the ends of the man's sleeves are two thick police tape-colored wrist guards, and he has a matching colored belt around his waist.
"Awesome, it's the Punching Hero, Deatharms!" One civilian in the crowd excitedly shouts when they see the hero.
"Great save, Deatharms!" Another civilian complimented the man on his feat of strength.
"I wish I had a Quirk that made me super strong!" A third civilian shouts their wish to be like the man.
Deatharms looks at the group of civilians while holding the tower over his head. However, someone else covers what he wants to tell the crowd while creating a water fence to keep them back.
"Everyone, please stay back! This area is far too dangerous!"
The man who shouts this is a hero wearing a firefighter uniform with a water cannon strapped to their back.
The man has a robotic appearance due to a white mask with an orange orb in the middle. The man's hands seem to be water taps with circular red wrist guards that have red valves on top of them. The same bulbs are on his kneecaps, albeit lacking the valves. The man also wears a pair of orange sneakers with black ankle guards and orange and black striped socks that go to his knees.
"It's Backdraft! He's a rescue specialist who's saved a lot of people from fire-related accidents." Someone exclaims before excitedly explaining the hero's work to their friend next to them.
"We're safe now." Another civilian happily says as they continue to watch the fight go on.
"No wonder the guy is desperate enough to go full monster. Will all of these awesome heroes, he couldn't do anything else." Another excited civilian mutter next to Izuku.
"I got held up the train's out. Another villain. I'm not sure when I'm gonna make it into the office." Someone explains on their phone.
However, the crowd suddenly hears a variety of loud squealing as a new hero swings onto the scene.
"It's Kamui Woods!" A group of fangirls squeals in excitement as the hero swings toward the villain.
The hero swinging in is a lean man in a black full-body suit with various pieces of wood clothing on them. These include a wooden helmet with a face mask, wooden gloves that stop before his shoulders, a wooden belt with flowers hanging from his left side, wood knee guards, and wood boots.
The wood on one of the gloves has been extended into whip-like branches that the hero uses to swing toward the enemy.
"Get away from me, or you'll regret it!" The giant villain angrily shouts as he tries to swing at Kamui Woods.
However, he misses as Kamui Woods dodges the attack using his branches to swing and escape the oncoming attack.
"This is going to be awesome. The rising star of the hero world, who hasn't been a full-time hero for long but has still been making a big name for himself, is here to defeat the villain." Izuku excitedly says as he pulls out a white notebook with the words 'Hero Analysis Notebook No. 13' on the front of it and begins writing in it.
The man near Izuku with four-pointed stars growing out of his head sees Izuku doing this and smiles at him.
"I know that kind of dopey grin. You're a fanboy, aren't you?" The man asks the boy with a grin of his own.
Izuku looks toward the man, and his grin turns into a nervous smile.
"Uh, sort of," Izuku tells the man before the crowd hears Kamui Woods speaking.
"Assault, robbery, and illegal use of powers during rush hour traffic!" Kamui Woods lists the man's crimes as he lands on top of a non-moving train in front of the giant criminal.
"You are the incarnation of evil!" Kamui Woods shouts at the man as he rears his arm back.
"Here comes his special move!" Someone in the crowd shouts in excitement.
"Come on, hero. Show us something interesting." The man next to Izuku shouts in excitement.
"Pre-Emptive Binding Lacquered Chain Prison!" Kamui Woods shouts as he throws his arm forward, and multiple branches grow from his wooden gauntlets to try and bind the giant villain.
However, his move doesn't have a chance to land on the criminal because someone else lands their super move on the villain first.
"Canyon Cannon!" A feminine voice shouts as a giant woman slams a flying kick into the villain while he's distracted by Kamui Woods.
The woman who landed the kick was in her mid-twenties with long blond hair that goes to her back, light skin, and purple eyes.
Her costume consists of a purple and tan skin-tight bodysuit with orange accents between the two colors, purple gloves that stop before the elbow with orange accents at the ends, and a purple domino mask with horns on the sides of her head.
"Money shot, money shot, money shot." People within the crowd began to mutter repeatedly as they took pictures of the woman.
"This was nothing for the world's next best heroine." The woman proudly says as she leans down to grab the knocked-out villain.
The woman then turns their head towards the crowd with a smile.
"Nice to meet you all. My name is Mt. Lady, and you don't have to worry about this bum anymore." Mt. Lady tells the crowd while giving them a wink and emphasizing her backside.
"Money shot, money shot, money shot." The crowd again begins to mutter in tandem as they take photos of the woman.
Kamui Woods looks shocked at this, unable to believe the turn of events. He looks at Mt. Lady and then the crowd before muttering.
"What? Why is she getting all of the credit?"
Izuku gives Kamui Woods a look of pity. However, he quickly refocuses on his notebook and creates a new section for Mt. Lady.
"Gigantification, huh? She has the image to become a crowd favorite, and her Quirk is powerful. However, it may be hard to get around with her Quirk, and it can cause tons of property damage. So, her Quirk may not be as useful in city areas." Izuku mutters as he writes notes inside his notebook.
The man close to Izuku grins at him as he listens to the boy unconsciously voice his thoughts in rapid muttering. The man gives Izuku a light tap on the shoulder, causing the boy to wake up from his trance, and smiles at the boy before saying.
"Let me guess. You want to become a hero? Don't you, Fanboy?"
Izuku gains a bright smile when the man asks that before answering honestly with a bright smile shining on his face.
"Yes, more than anything," Izuku tells the man.
The man smiles at Izuku before giving him a thumbs up.
"Well, good luck then. You can do it." The man encourages Izuku.
Those words make Izuku's smile shine even brighter, and he nods at the man.
"Thank you, sir," Izuku tells the man before leaving the crowd to return to his scooter.
Izuku gets back on, and traffic starts moving again.
-------------------
Later, Izuku sits in class as their teacher holds up a stack of test papers for their students to see.
Izuku's teacher is a man in a brown suit with goat horns growing from his forehead.
"Alright, class, you're career aptitude test results have come in today. I'm sure you all don't care about these results since you all want to be heroes, but it's good to have a backup plan in mind if your first choice doesn't work out for you." The teacher tells his students before going around the room and passing out the aptitude results.
Izuku takes his test and looks over the results. The results came in as a color-coded pie chart with various percentages. Under the pie chart are a few different job suggestions.
"Investigative 32%, artistic 12%, enterprising 24%, social 8%, conventional 12%, realistic 12%." Izuku reads off the list in his mind.
Izuku then looks down the paper to see what jobs the career aptitude test job suggestions are.
"Number one is a Quirk analyst, number two is a detective, and number three is a profiler." Izuku reads the suggestions off in his mind.
Izuku has a smile on his face as he sees that all of his jobs are related to hero work in some way.
After the teacher passes out the results, he's back at his desk and looking at another stack of papers.
"All of your guys' test results are good. All of you should be able to get into a good university if you keep this up. One of you may even be able to get into UA university and become a top-class hero." The teacher tells his students with a smile as he looks over the papers.
This got the class muttering amongst each other.
"UA, that's the best hero track-focused university in Japan."
"It has a less than .5% acceptance rate."
"Can one of us really make it there?"
Izuku listens to this all. However, the teacher stops on one particular piece of paper and smiles at Izuku.
"It looks like one of you is ambitious enough to aim for UA. I wish that student good luck in getting in." The teacher says to his class as he gives them a warm smile while not aiming it at anyone in particular.
The class looks around to see if they can figure out who's aiming for UA while Izuku looks down at his desk.
"Alright, that's enough. Let's get back to class." The teacher tells his students, getting the class back on track.
-------------------
Izuku is packing up to leave before being stopped by two hands resting on his desk. Izuku starts to clam up from nervousness as he looks up to see who the hands belong to.
The person standing in front of Izuku is a boy with straight chin-length black hair, light skin, and black dotted pupils in his eyes.
The boy is wearing the same uniform as Izuku but slightly customized due to bulges on the sides of his elbows. The boy also has on a pair of yellow and white sneakers.
The boy was leaning forward until he was inches from Izuku's face. The boy then asks Midoriya in a carefree tone.
"So, you're the one who's aiming for UA, right, Midoriya?"
Izuku blushes in embarrassment before looking at his desk in nervousness.
"Ah, relax, dude. I'm just curious. You're the only one who looked at their desk while everyone else tried to figure out who wanted to go to UA." The boy tells Izuku in a calm tone.
Izuku looks at him before nodding his head.
"Yeah, UA finally lifted that rule on people without a Quirk being ineligible to take the exam," Izuku explains to the teen.
"So, what do you think are the chances of us getting in?" The boy asks Izuku curiously with a grin.
"Us?" Izuku questions.
"Yeah, I'm aiming for UA too. So, I'm curious what one of the smartest kids in school thinks about our chances of getting in." The boy tells Izuku, never losing his grin.
Izuku looks at the boy before adopting a look of deep thought. While thinking about the other teen's chances, he begins a tirade of mumbling.
"Well, as long as the practical exam involves capturing something, you would likely pass it due to your Quirk's flexibility. I mean, your Quirk lets you travel around quickly. How fast is the tape you shoot out?" Izuku asks the teen curiously.
The teen puts a hand to their chin and adopts his own thinking look.
"Uh, pretty quickly, now that I think about it. I've been practicing more with it lately. So it may get faster by exam day." The teen tells Izuku.
"Then, I think you can pass the exam as long as you keep practicing and studying for the academic portion of the exam," Izuku explains to the teen with a smile.
The teen gives Izuku a thankful smile and pats him on the back.
"Thanks, Midoriya. I'll try and do that. I wish you good luck in the exam too." The teen tells Izuku.
Izuku blushes and stutters.
"T-thank you, S-Sero," Izuku tells the other teen, not used to this kind of treatment.
"No problem, dude. Well, later." Sero waves him off before leaving class.
Izuku finishes packing up his stuff and heads toward his scooter. As he does, a reminder goes off on his phone. He pulls it out to see it's telling him to go to his dad's lab.
"Right, dad wants me to head over there. I wonder what he wants me to see?" Izuku questions himself as he gets on his scooter and drives off.
-------------------
It takes Izuku twenty minutes to get to the building where his dad's lab is.
The building is a silver, five-sided, skyscraper tower building with one side consisting of all glass windows over concrete, then glass, then concrete pattern each other side of the building has.
Izuku is stopped at the front gate of the area. He looks in the booth next to him to see a plump man that looks like a raccoon dressed in a security guard outfit.
"Afternoon, Midoriya. Are you seeing your father again?" The man asks Izuku with a smile.
"Yes, dad said he had something he wanted to show me," Izuku tells the man with a smile.
"Well, you know the procedure by now." The raccoon man tells Izuku.
Izuku nods and gets off his scooter as several other guards walk up to him to search him.
A girl with short pink hair and purple eyes holds their palm at Izuku, and light emanates from it onto Izuku's body, searching for if he's hiding anything. A man that looks like a bloodhound begins to sniff Izuku to see if there are any strange scents. A third security guard, a male with yellow, four-pointed star pupils, stares at Izuku with calculating eyes.
As these three are going over Izuku, the other security guards are going over his scooter and his bag to see if there's anything suspicious. A metallic woman searches through Izuku's bag as two men, one with glasses while the other has red skin, inspect Izuku's scooter.
After a few minutes, the security guards backed away from Izuku after giving him back his belongings and letting him through the gate.
"Have a good day, Midoriya. I'll see you when you come out." The raccoon man waves to Izuku as he leaves.
Izuku waves back toward the man before focusing on finding a parking spot. After finding one, Izuku gets off and heads inside. When he enters, he is met with a white lobby. Izuku heads towards the reception desk, where he meets a male receptionist with horns growing from his cheeks. The man smiles at Izuku when he looks up from his computer and motions for him to go past the desk.
"Delivering another late lunch today, Midoriya?" The man asks Izuku as he motions for Izuku to go ahead and leave.
"No, dad wanted to show me something he invented," Izuku explains to the man.
"Well, you know where his lab is. Be careful, though. This place is known for its experiments that can go wrong." The man tells Izuku, who nods their head.
"Right," Izuku tells the man as he walks past the reception desk and towards an elevator.
Izuku hits a button that leads towards the upper floors and waits inside the elevator for a few seconds before it dings, signaling he's arrived. After that, he walks down the hallway as various sounds go off in different rooms around him as he passes them.
"Hey, careful with tha-*explosion*,"
"*Drilling noises*"
"*Flamethrower*"
"Alright, I think we've stabilized it." A female voice says before the door of that lab gains a fist-shaped dent.
"Nevermind." That same voice groans in annoyance.
Izuku walks towards the door at the end of the hallway before stopping in front of it. On the front of the door is a gold plate with the name Hisashi Midoriya written on it. Izuku rings the doorbell next to the lab door with another plate above it that reads, "Please ring the doorbell and wait for someone to open it to make sure you're safe." and waits for someone to open it.
After a few seconds, a man with light skin, messy brown hair, blue eyes behind black-framed glasses, and a brown goatee opens the door with a smile.
The man is wearing a dark blue long-sleeve button-up shirt with a shirt pocket on the left, lightish blue jeans with a brown belt, dark blue, almost purple, sneakers with white laces, and a black wristwatch on his left wrist.
"Glad to see you're finally here, Izuku. Come in, come in." The man tells the teen as he motions for Izuku to come inside.
Izuku enters the lab to see various workbenches, machinery, and a reinforced glass shield. However, what catches Izuku's attention is a reinforced black suitcase with a high-tech lock resting on one of the stations. He stares at this so much that he doesn't notice the other two occupants in the room beside the one that let him in.
"Well, your eyes are still working. Since you immediately started staring at your present." Hisashi laughs when he sees his son's curious eyes staring at the case.
Izuku jumps at the sudden noise like a scared rabbit and immediately turns around to see his father, the man that let him in, and a third man.
The third man looks to be in his late forties to early fifties. He's plump with light skin, balding dirty blond hair, and seems to have constantly closed eyes.
The man is dressed in a light grey short-sleeve shirt with a blue tie and brown overalls connected to black pants and brown shoes.
"It's nice to see you again, Izuku. It's too bad you didn't bring any of your mother's food, though." The third man says with a light laugh as he pats his stomach with one hand.
Hiashi wacks him on the back of the head playfully and gives the man a light glare while saying.
"Hey, that's my wife's food you're talking about. That's reserved for me, you glutton." Hisashi tells the man with a faux angry tone.
The one that let Izuku in releases a laugh as he sees the other two's antics.
"Alright, you two, settle down so we can show Izuku the results of our research from the last few years." The brown-haired man tells his compatriots as he gets between them.
Hisashi loses his glare and releases a faux annoyed sigh while saying.
"Yes, mom."
The brown-haired man looks at Izuku with a smile and says.
"So, are you ready to see your father's present, Izuku?" The man asks the boy as he walks around Izuku towards the suitcase.
Izuku immediately nods.
"Yes, Mr. Shield," Izuku tells the man with a smile.
"Why would you bother asking that, David? If he didn't want to see it, he wouldn't have shown up in the first place." Hisashi tells the man with an annoyed huff.
"Excuse me for wanting to check since this is a big moment for your son. I'd want to check with Melissa constantly if something like this happened to her." David tells Hisashi with a shrug.
David's words started to make Izuku nervous and excited. Nervous at what it could be, but excited since his words make Izuku think his dad made him something that will help him with his dream of becoming a hero.
"It is a big day for him, Hisashi." The third man tells Hisashi, agreeing with David.
"Yeah, yeah. Alright, Izuku. It's time for you to see your early birthday gift." Hisashi tells Izuku as he heads towards the suitcase and unlocks it.
Hisashi moves to the side so that Izuku can get a good look at the items in the suitcase. When Izuku sees them, his eyes sparkle with curiosity.
The first item inside is a black and silver belt-buckle-like device. In the middle of the top is a coin slot leading to a glass lens in the center of the device. A golden H design connects to the lens with two curved lines protruding from each side in wing-like fashions. On the left side of the device is a black key with golden highlights around it.
The second item in the case isn't quite an item but a group of them. Resting next to the belt buckle-like device in a vertical line is a set of three bronze coins, each with a different design. The top coin has a rabbit design, the middle coin has a dragon head breathing fire design, and the last coin has a lightning bolt design.
The third item resting next to the coins is a silver device that looks like it attaches to the left side of a belt. It's a small circular box that looks big enough to hold a certain amount of the coins it is next to.
Izuku's eyes shine with anticipation and curiosity as he examines all the items in the suitcase. Hisashi, David, and the third man see this and grin at the boy's expression.
"This, Izuku, is the Hero Driver. It's specifically made to combat the Nomu." Hisashi tells Izuku with a grin.
Izuku is snapped out of his stupor and looks towards his father in shock.
"You mean the villains that seem to have multiple Quirks?" Izuku asks his father in shock.
"Those are the ones. The Hero Public Safety Commission commissioned us to make this device to create a hero that can hunt down and defeat them while not diverting any pro heroes from their duties. Well, that's the official story anyway." Hisashi explains to Izuku as he stares at the device with a satisfied look.
His father's words confuse Izuku. Specifically, the part about the official story.
"What do you mean by the official story?" Izuku asks his father.
"Oh, the true reason you're getting this instead of a pro hero is that I made a clause in the contract that I'm the only one allowed to decide who gets a Hero Driver," Hisashi explains to his son with a smirk.
Izuku gapes at his father while David and the third man facepalm at their colleague's bluntness.
"Remind me again. Why did we agree to help develop the Hero Driver with this man using our Quirk amplification research, Samuel?" David asks the third man, finally giving him a name.
"Because he gave us a chance to continue using the research without the risk of being shut down," Samuel tells David.
"Right." David nods as Izuku begins to mutter at a rapid pace.
"Wait, this would have gone to a hero if I wasn't around? Doesn't that mean I'm getting in the way of stopping some of the most dangerous villains to plague Japan? Can I really be given such a big task as defeating them when pro heroes have trouble beating them?" Izuku rapidly questions himself as he looks at the device.
Hisashi facepalms while muttering to himself.
"I wish he didn't get my muttering habit and Inko's waterfall-like tear ducts. It should have stopped at the freckles and green hair." Hisashi mutters in annoyance before walking towards his son, grabbing him by the shoulders, and shaking him out of his trance.
"Alright, none of that. You'll do fine, I promise. I wouldn't be giving you this if I didn't think you couldn't handle being a hero, son." Hisashi reassures his son as he shakes Izuku out of his trance.
Izuku looks at his father, uncertainly still in his eyes. Hisashi sees this and decides not to worry about it in favor of explaining the device to his son.
"Let me tell you how to use the Hero Driver. The coins you see next to it are called Power Coins. They each mimic the power of a different Quirk. So far, you have the Rabbit, Draco-Breath, and Charge Power Coins." Hisashi starts by explaining what the coins next to the device are.
Izuku's eyes shine when he's told about the coins and their names.
"Wait, do you mean I can use Miruko and your Quirks with the Hero Driver?" Izuku asks.
Hisashi grins when Izuku asks this.
"You catch on quickly, Izuku. Yep, to counteract the fact that Nomu can use multiple Quirks, we developed the Hero Driver to do the same and amplify the strength of whatever Quirk its wielder uses." Hisashi explains to Izuku, whose eyes sparkle at this explanation.
"That's amazing! This device will revolutionize heroics and Quirk use!" Izuku shouts in amazement as he stares at his father.
Hisashi points at his son and says.
"That's the idea, son. If villains want to revolutionize villainy and Quirk use, we need to do the same thing, but better." Hisashi tells his son with a grin.
Izuku's eyes shine in excitement as he thinks about the possibilities with this device. He is unconsciously voicing these thoughts via muttering.
"With this device, heroes can go into any situation prepared because they can wield more than one Quirk. They could use a sonar Quirk to find anyone stuck under rubble before using a strength-enhancing Quirk to free them. Or they can use hydrokinesis and terrakinesis to help close off and put out fires on their own. If an entire team of people had this device, they'd be the most diverse team in history." Izuku rapidly mutters before taking out a notebook and writing in it.
Hisashi shakes him out of his trance again.
"You've got it, Izuku. And you'll be the one to use the first perfected model of the Hero Driver. So, congratulations on becoming one of the most diverse heroes in history. Now, let me finish explaining it to you. So, you know how to use it." Hisashi tells his son as he shakes him.
Hisashi leaves no room for protest as he immediately grabs the belt-buckle-like device and gives Izuku an up-close look.
"First, you'll attach the Hero Driver to your waist like a belt, and then you'll want to insert one of the Power Coins into the coin slot on the top," Hisashi explains while pointing at the slot on the top middle of the device.
"After you insert a Power Coin, the device will analyze it and create a set of high-tech armor to protect you and enhance your abilities based on what coin you used. It will also give you two weapons to help you fight. A multifunctional weapon that the driver is programmed to give all riders and a weapon custom-made for the Power Coin you used to transform. The weapons' attacks can be enhanced with Power Coins as well." Hisashi explains to his son before motioning towards the key on the side of the device.
"You turn this key to activate your finisher or super move. It will supercharge your Quirk and suit to deliver a devastating attack." Hisashi explains to his son.
Izuku nods his head to show his father that he's following along. However, Hisashi doesn't need that since he can see his son's eyes practically turn into stars from his fascination with the device.
Hisashi sets the Hero Driver back into the briefcase before taking out the circular box and opening it to reveal six coin holder spaces. Grey coins take up three of the spaces inside the container.
"This is your Hero Coin Holder. It does what it implies and provides somewhere to hold your Power Coins. The grey coins inside of it are blank Power Coins that don't have a quirk inside of them yet." Hisashi explains to Izuku.
Izuku looks confused at his father's words and asks.
"How do you put a quirk in them?"
Hisashi's grin grows when Izuku asks him that, and he tells Izuku.
"Simple, you throw them at the beaten Nomu, and the blank Power Coins will analyze them and catalog a Quirk the Nomu had inside it."
Izuku looks shocked at his father's words, but before he can say anything, Hisashi interrupts him.
"You got it again, son. The person using this will only grow stronger with the more Nomu they defeat." Hisashi tells Izuku with his grin threatening to split his face.
"Incredible." Izuku quietly mutters in shock as he stares at the device from a new perspective.
'Yep. And you're going to be using this to become a hero." Hisashi tells Izuku as he puts the container back in the briefcase and tosses it to Izuku.
Izuku catches it with a grunt and then stares at it with shocked eyes before looking at his father uncertainly.
"B-but I haven't even gone through hero training yet. A-are you sure I should be trusted with handling this? Shouldn't a pro hero be given this instead?" Izuku asks his father worriedly.
"No, I'm giving you this not only because you're my son and you want to be a hero but also because I know you can handle it," Hisashi tells his son confidently as he places his hands on Izuku's shoulders.
Izuku still looks uncertain, and Hisashi takes the initiative by taking out one of Izuku's "Hero Analysis" notebooks.
"Izuku, look at these notes you've taken. You have the potential to become a top-tier Quirk analyst. You're the perfect choice to wield equipment that lets people use multiple Quirks. You'll be able to use the Hero Driver to its full potential with your ability. You may not be physically strong, but the Hero Driver will cover that. You can be a hero with this." Hisashi tells his son as he flips through a few pages in the notebook for him and Izuku to look at.
"B-but isn't vigilantism illegal? What am I supposed to do without a hero license?" Izuku asks his father.
Hisashi blinks for a few seconds before facepalming and digging into his lab coat's pocket.
"I knew I forgot something," Hisashi mutters in annoyance as he pulls out a laminated card and gives it to Izuku.
On the top of the card are the words "Kamen Rider Program." The card explains how masked heroes with the Hero Driver are permitted to use their powers for heroics during emergencies and to hunt down Nomu. On the right side of the card is a picture of the Hero Driver. On the bottom of the card is the name Fumihito Hikage.
"It's a temporary permit that lets you work as a hero as long as you use the Hero Driver. The Commission's chairman signed it himself. So, you won't have to worry about getting in trouble for vigilantism." Hisashi explains to Izuku.
Izuku looks at it in shock before something else pops up.
"How am I supposed to track down Nomu to fight them?" Izuku asks.
Hisashi rubs the back of his head when Izuku asks that, and David takes over.
"That's a bit of a problem. We have no real way to track them down. So, you'll have to wait for the Commission to alert you themselves." David explains to Izuku before giving him a slip of paper with a number on it.
"That number will be the one the Commission uses to alert you. So, I recommend you enter that in as quickly as possible." David tells Izuku, who nods.
Hisashi pulls some money out of his wallet and gives it to Izuku before putting a hand on his back and leading him out the door.
"I know this is a lot to take in. So, use that money and go to your favorite restaurant to get your bearings on this all." Hisashi tells his son before letting Izuku out of the lab and closing the door.
Izuku looks at the door in uncertainty before doing what his dad tells him. On the other side of the door, Hisashi slides down the door with a relieved sigh.
"Are you sure about this, Hisashi?" David asks Hisashi.
Hisashi gives David a smile and nods.
"Yeah, I'm sure about this. I know what the risks are, but I think Izuku can handle them. Besides, it's not like he'll be the only one." Hisashi tells David with a smile.
"I still don't like how we're giving this device over to young people who haven't even completed their hero training yet," Samuel tells the other two while folding his arms.
Hisashi sighs.
"I know, Samuel, I know," Hisashi tells Samuel.
-------------------
Izuku is sitting at a table in the corner of a restaurant, looking at the devices in the briefcase he was given. Currently, Izuku is holding the Rabbit Power Coin and inspecting it while resting his head in his other hand.
As he's doing this, a waitress his age with long light brown hair and dark blue eyes comes over with a large bowl of pork cutlets and egg over rice.
"Here's your large bowl of katsudon, Midoriya. Enjoy." The waitress says with a smile as she sets the bowl down.
However, she notices the Hero Driver before she leaves, and her eyes sparkle with curiosity.
"Oh, what do you have there? A present from your father?" The girl asks with a smile as she inspects the items in the case.
Izuku looks startled when she asks that and looks towards her nervously.
"O-oh, y-yeah. Dad said it would help me become a hero in the future." Izuku says nervously.
The girl closes her eyes with a smile and releases a happy sigh.
"I'm so envious of you. Having a father that works in the hero industry to help you with your dream. That's something anyone would envy." The waitress tells Izuku as she picks up one of the last Power Coins and inspects it.
Izuku blushes at her words and quickly takes the Power Coin back from the girl while saying.
"I-I mean, your Quirk is amazing too, Suzuki. With it, you could become a better sniper than Snipe at some point." Izuku tells the girl with a light blush as he sets the Power Coin back in the case.
The waitress grins when he says that and pats him on the back.
"Thanks for that compliment. I'm planning to try out for Seiai University this year. Worse comes to worst; I have my family's restaurant to fall back on." The girl says while motioning around the restaurant for emphasis.
"W-well, it's always good to have a plan B," Izuku tells her.
The girl hums before nodding.
"True, well enjoy your usual," Suzuki tells him before leaving.
Izuku breaks apart some chopsticks and begins digging into his meal to take his mind off the hero driver and his father's words. However, a few minutes into his meal, he gets a text from the number David gave him. At the same time, someone in the restaurant shouts.
"Hey, turn up the TV!"
Suzuki grabs a TV remote and turns the volume up so everyone in the restaurant can hear the news broadcast.
"This is Aoi Hikaru on the scene of Aldera Cram School where one of the new types of villains that have plagued our country for over three years, known as a Nomu, is holding the people inside the school hostage." A female reporter with short pink and red duel tone hair explains inside a helicopter.
Behind the reporter is an aerial view of multiple pro heroes, including Deatharms, Kamui Woods, and Backdraft, fighting against the villain.
The villain in question can be best described as a Frankenstein monster, even in a world where people take on many different forms because of quirks.
The villain is tall and adequately bulky with dark green skin for their upper body and light grey skin for their lower body. Covering random parts of their body are pieces of dark grey armor, and on the joints are volcano-like holes. However, the most notable thing about them is that the top of their head was missing, exposing their brain for everyone to see above their red eyes.
Behind the Nomu is Aldera Cram School, which looks to be enclosed in some kind of sludge.
"Heroes are on the scene trying to stop the villain, whose been dubbed Swamp Nomu, and rescue everyone inside. However, they seem unable to do anything against the villain and the substance surrounding the building keeping the hostages trapped inside." The newswoman explains as Deatharms jumps in the air and tries to deliver a flying punch to Swamp Nomu.
Unfortunately, Swamp Nomu catches the fist with one hand, and the volcano-like hole on their elbow starts to produce sludge. The sludge wraps around Swamp Nomu's arm, and they launch it forward at Deatharms, sending him flying and sticking him onto a building with the swamp-like substance covering everything but his head.
Izuku watches this and grips the Rabbit Power Coin in his hand tightly in worry. He bites his lower lip while thinking.
"Can I really help defeat them? I don't have any training. Dad said the Hero Driver was made specifically for defeating nomu, though." Izuku thinks before looking at his Hero Driver and Power Coins.
As Izuku is lost in thought, words from his childhood flash into his mind.
"It's alright because I am here!"
Izuku clenches his hands tightly and makes up his mind.
"A hero is there to give people hope in times of despair. Dad's a genius. If he didn't think I could handle this, I wouldn't have been given the Hero Driver." Izuku resolutely thinks.
With that, Izuku grabs the suitcase and his Power Coins before running out of the restaurant and into an alley. He takes the Hero Driver out of the briefcase and puts it on his waist. A red belt shoots out of its sides and wraps around his waist. As it does, the Hero Driver speaks in a voice familiar to Izuku.
"Are you ready!?"
"Is that Present Mic's voice?" Izuku thinks in shock before shaking his head.
"No, bad Izuku, focus on the task at hand." He chastises himself before grabbing a Power Coin and setting it into the coin slot at the top of the hero driver.
"Rabbit + Quirkless, blank match." The Hero Driver shouts enthusiastically.
Izuku gulps nervously before turning the key on the side of the Hero Driver. After he does, the Hero Driver starts shouting.
"JUMP, JUMP, REACH FOR THE MOON, JUMPING RABBIT!"
Suddenly, glowing green particles start to surround a panicking Izuku and take the form of armor.
When the process finishes, Izuku has on a green full-body suit with black highlights on the sides of the upper arms and the legs. Over Izuku's chest and shoulders is a sleek silver chest plate with red highlights on the shoulders. Below the chest plate and above the Hero Driver, Izuku has two black rhombuses protruding from his sides and almost meeting in the middle. On his arms are black elbow pads, and he has beige gloves with blue stripes, the upper line breaking off into a rhombus shape on the back of his hand. On Izuku's legs are black leg guards that cover all but their upper legs with gaps in the middle of their tops and grey circular knee pads with three black dots in an upside-down triangle design. Under the leg guards, Izuku has red armored boots with black toes and sides and red soles. On the tips of the black toes are gold markings. Over Izuku's face is a green rabbit-like mask with green rabbit ears, a grey respirator with black lines over where Izuku's mouth would be, glaring red eyes with black highlights around them, and a black arrowhead going down the forehead.
"KAMEN RIDER DEKU!" The hero driver announces once the transformation finishes.
Izuku is examining his new look with sparkling eyes under the helmet.
"Woah, this is amazing. How did they manage this? Is it a nano-based technology that's released from the Hero Driver?" Izuku wonders before shaking his head to get back on track again.
"No, stay focused, Izuku. You need to save everyone and let them know you are here." He tells himself as he gets serious.
Izuku pulls out his phone and looks at the text the Hero Commission sent him. The text starts with an alert that a Nomu has appeared before showing a city map with two x marks. The first is a green one where Izuku is, while the other is a red mark where Aldera Cram School is.
After looking at it, Izuku looks in the direction of Aldera Cram School and then looks at his legs. He takes a breath before saying.
"Here we go."
To Izuku's shock, when he jumps, he flies off the ground onto the top of a building. Izuku takes a minute to collect himself before jumping again and again.
However, during one of these jumps, the Hero Driver's announcement finally hits him.
"Wait, did it call me Deku?" This change in thought process causes him to crash face-first onto a building.
Izuku sits up and looks at the Hero Driver in confusion.
"Why would it call me Deku?" Izuku rhetorically asks but gets an answer.
"Because it is the name most on your mind." The Hero Driver states, causing Izuku to gain a gloomy cloud over his head and mutter.
"Even when we're no longer going to the same school, he's still mocking me."
-------------------
Kamui Woods is swinging around the area, trying to avoid the blasts of sludge water that Swamp Nomu is launching at him. At the same time, Backdraft is attempting to wash the substance trapping Deatharms off so he can get back in the fight.
As the heroes fight, a crowd is watching behind barricades with worry.
"Hey, that guy is taking down most of the heroes in the area." Someone in the crowd mutters.
"Well, what do you expect? It's a Nomu. These guys have been showing up a lot in the past couple of years." Another person in the crowd explains.
A man who looks like a skeleton with skin hears this and tightens his hands in anger.
The man has slightly tan skin, long wild blond hair with two long strands in front of his forehead going down to his chest, and black eyes with light blue pupils.
He's wearing a white short-sleeve shirt, green pants wrapped by a black belt with a silver butterfly belt buckle, and brown shoes. His clothes look baggy on him due to his lack of muscle.
"Damn it. I used up my time already." The man thought to himself as he watched the fight go on.
Mt. Lady comes charging onto the scene in her giant form and attempts to stomp on Swamp Nomu. However, Swamp Nomu jumps out of the way, and she finds her foot stuck in the sludge they left behind to trap her.
"Grr, come on!" She growls in annoyance as she tries to pull her foot out.
It looks like Swamp Nomu is in complete control of the scene until people hear a shout.
"WATCH OUT!"
The crowd, heroes, and Nomu look up to see Kamen Rider Deku flying towards the scene head first on a collision course with Swamp Nomu. Swamp Nomu jumps out of the way in time, and Kamen Rider Deku causes a crater where he lands. Deku slowly stands up and shakes his head to get rid of the debris on him.
"Ow, sorry, I'm still getting used to this," Deku explains, but no one is sure who that apology is directed towards.
The skeletal man can tell that whoever is behind Deku's mask is young by his voice. He can't help but think to himself.
"You should get out of here while you can, young man. You're too young to be in this kind of fight." The man thought to himself.
"And who are you supposed to be?" Swamp Nomu grunts in a deep voice as he stares at Deku.
"O-oh, I-I'm Kamen Rider Deku." Deku tells the Nomu as he nervously looks at him.
Those words shock the skeletal man as he recognizes the name.
"Wait, this is the Project Kamen Rider that David's been working on?" The man wonders as he stares at the armored hero in a slightly different light.
"Hmph, I'll be nice and give you one chance. Leave now, or you will die." Swamp Nomu warns Deku while pointing at him.
Deku tightens his hands into fists and says in a resolute tone.
"A hero's job is to get in the way of a villain."
"Fine, I tried to be nice since you sound young, but I shouldn't have bothered." Swamp Nomu sighs before quickly raising his hand and shooting a stream of sludge at Deku for a surprise attack.
However, Deku felt him about to raise his arm through the ears on his helmet and managed to dodge his attack by jumping, landing on a lamppost.
"Woah, this suit is amazing. I could feel the attack coming even though it was supposed to be a surprise attack." Deku thinks in shock as he tries to regain his balance on the lamppost.
Swamp Nomu groans in annoyance after seeing how they dodge his surprise attack.
"Of course, this won't be easy for me. Why did I expect anything else?" Swamp Nomu mutters in annoyance as he takes Deku more seriously as an opponent.
"How do I activate my weapons?" Izuku wonders in his mind.
Suddenly, two weapons materialize in Izuku's hands from the Hero Driver.
The first one in Deku's left hand is a green and black gauntlet-like device that only covers the front of his fist as he grips a bar behind it with a light green symbol of Kamen Rider Deku's head on the knuckle end. On the back of it is a coin slot.
The second weapon in Deku's right hand is a black and silver mechanical katana with a gun hilt. On the grip of the blade is a trigger. On the other end of the gun barrel crossguard is a coin slot.
As these two weapons materialize, the Hero Driver shouts out.
"Mighty Knuckle! Power Blade!"
Deku looks at the weapons in shock when they materialize in his hands. He isn't the only one. Everyone else in the area is either shocked or shouting in excitement toward him.
"Woah, did you see that?" Someone asks.
"He made weapons appear out of nowhere!"
"Did you see how high he jumped too?"
"This guy is awesome."
"Come on, hero. You've got this!"
Swamp Nomu looks wary of the weapons but decides to forget about that for now. He throws another stream of sludge toward the masked hero to try and trap them.
However, Izuku already predicted that and dodged out of the way by jumping off the lamppost towards Swamp Nomu with the arm holding his gauntlet reeled back. He throws it forward, and it slams into Swamp Nomu's chest. The Mighty Knuckle seems to release a burst of force and send Swamp Nomu flying backward into a car.
"I-I did it. I just sent a nomu flying!" Izuku excitedly shouts in his mind as a little version of him dances inside of it victoriously.
"MY CAR!" Someone in the crowd shouts, and Izuku loses whatever proudness he felt earlier and looks towards the crowd.
"S-sorry!" He shouts why putting a hand behind his head in embarrassment.
Unfortunately, that hand is the one with his Mighty Knuckle, and he accidentally bonks himself in the head and crashes to the ground from the force.
"Ow." He mutters on the ground.
-------------------
Hisashi facepalmed when he saw his son hit himself in the back of the head with his weapon and muttered.
"Yep, he's definitely my son."
-------------------
Deku stands up in time to see Swamp Nomu pull himself out of the car and angrily glare at Deku.
"Okay, kid. You're dead." Swamp Nomu says as if he's stating a fact of life while emitting a lot of killing intent.
Deku gulps behind his helmet and holds his weapons before him defensively.
"Stay calm, Izuku. You can do this." Deku thinks to himself as he prepares for Swamp Nomu's next move.
Swamp Nomu charges Deku with sludge constantly shooting out of his joints and covering his body. However, the sludge on his body suddenly hardens until it looks as solid as metal, creating a suit of armor around the Nomu. Swamp Nomu attempts to use the momentum from his charge to deliver a powerful haymaker to Deku, but the Kamen Rider rolls out of the way to avoid it. Unfortunately for the Nomu, he couldn't slow his momentum immediately, giving Deku a chance to attack his back.
"Let's try this out." Deku thinks as he pulls out the Charge Power Coin and inserts it into the coin slot on the back of the pistol crossguard.
Glowing yellow lines start to appear along the weapon as the Hero Driver shouts.
"Rapid Power Bolt Finish!"
Izuku aims and pulls the trigger on his gun-sword, sending over dozens of lightning bolts flying out of the barrel toward Swamp Nomu like a machine gun.
However, Deku didn't get a clean hit on Swamp Nomu because of the armor protecting him.
"The substance covering him must not be conductive. And I doubt dad's Quirk will work since he can put the fire out." Deku thinks in shock as Swamp Nomu turns around.
"That tickled, kid. Do you have anything else you want to try?" Swamp Nomu asks in a slightly arrogant tone before charging at Deku again.
This time Swamp Nomu doesn't go for a haymaker. Instead, he stops as soon as he's in striking distance of Deku and begins to throw multiple punches to try and hit the Rider.
Deku uses his sword and the arm holding his Mighty Knuckle to block the attacks, but each punch is harder and heavier than it should be, thanks to the sludge armor covering Swamp Nomu, making them have more force behind them.
One of those punches blocked by Deku's arm has enough force to send the Kamen Rider flying and crashing into the ground.
"Ow, that hurt a lot. How am I supposed to beat him with that armor on?" Deku questions in his mind as he shakily starts to get up.
He didn't have time to think of a plan, though. Swamp Nomu attempts to stomp on his back to pin him down. Luckily Deku sees it coming, thanks to his suit, and manages to roll out of the way. Swamp Nomu doesn't give up. He pursues Deku and continues to attempt to hold him down. Deku continues to roll away to avoid Swamp Nomu's attempts.
"Hey, stop, please stop and let me get up," Deku says as he rolls out of the way.
The blond skeletal man flatly watches the scene before him while thinking.
"Who did they hire for the Kamen Rider program? They look like they haven't had a day of hero training before."
It takes a few seconds of this before Deku hits something, causing him to stop rolling while on his back. Before he can do anything, though. Swamp Nomu pins him down with his arm.
"Finally, now you're dead!" Swamp Nomu shouts as he throws a fist down to try and hit Deku.
However, as if by instinct, Deku uses his fist with the Mighty Knuckle on it to meet that punch and release another burst of force that breaks the armor on Swamp Nomu's arm and sends him flying back slightly. This gives Deku enough time to stand up again and look at the Mighty Knuckle in shock.
"Alright, this could work." Deku thought before looking at Swamp Nomu and charging at him.
Deku delivers a punch to Swamp Nomu's armored chest that causes Swamp Nomu to stagger back with cracks in his armor. Deku attempts to follow this up with a slash toward his unprotected arm, but it's blocked by a new coating of hardened sludge covering Swamp Nomu's arm.
Swamp Nomu parries the strike away, causing Deku to stagger back and be open for an attack. Swamp Nomu capitalizes on this and punches Deku in the face, sending Deku to the ground again. However, this time Deku isn't planning to stay down. He quickly slams his legs onto the ground, the force behind it causing him to do a backflip off the ground and land on his feet, albeit shakily.
This impresses the skeletal blond man and the heroes around the area attempting to free the hostages or their fellow heroes.
"Not a bad move. It seems like he's improving slightly as the battle goes on." The blond man thinks as he continues to watch the fight.
"Alright, that was good. I recovered before the Nomu could capitalize on me being on the ground." Deku thought with a smile behind his mask before inspecting his sword.
"The Power Blade can't break through the armor like the Mighty Knuckle can. There isn't enough force behind my strikes." Deku thought before noticing something about the blade.
It looks as if the blade and grip can switch positions. So they're facing the coin slot of the crossguard instead of the barrel. Deku holsters the Mighty Knuckle and tests this; sure enough, the gun muzzle is now facing behind the blade and trigger. Deku quickly re-equips his Mighty Knuckle and tests how well his offense will be this time.
Deku charges at Swamp Nomu, who is cautiously watching the hand with the Mighty Knuckle. However, Deku has already anticipated this and led with his Power Blade instead. He slashes at Swamp Nomu's side, but Swamp Nomu blocks. Like last time, the blade can't get past Swamp Nomu's sludge armor. This doesn't last when Deku pulls the trigger, though.
When Kamen Rider Deku pulls the trigger, the force behind the gunshots propels the blade forward, and it manages to cut through the armor and pierce Swamp Nomu's skin, albeit shallowly. That was enough, though. Swamp Nomu quickly attempts to back away from Deku when he feels the pain from the slash while holding his arm. Deku sees this and throws his left arm forward to land another hit with the Mighty Knuckle on Swamp Nomu's chest. The punch breaks Swamp Nomu's armor there and sends him flying to the ground.
Deku looks at the downed Swamp Nomu and holsters his Mighty Knuckle again. He then puts his hand to turn the Hero Driver's key, causing the Hero Driver to shout.
"RABBIT POWER FINISH!"
Suddenly the Mighty Knuckle and Power Blade disappear, and a green glow emits from Kamen Rider Deku's armor as glowing lines appear on it. Kamen Rider Deku gets into a ready position as his body seems to be charging.
Swamp Nomu starts to stand back up and sees this. When he does, he immediately goes.
"Fuck this! This wasn't worth the fucking pay! I was told this was going to be an easy job!"
Swamp Nomu turns around and attempts to run. Simultaneously, Kamen Rider Deku jumps forward and delivers a flying kick into the retreating Nomu's back. The attack causes the area around the two to explode.
Flying out of the explosion is a pile of sludge with eyes and teeth and Kamen Rider Deku. The living pile of goop splatters unceremoniously on the ground while Deku lands in a crouching position with legs spread out and an open left palm on the ground while the other is raised outwards behind him.
His Power Coin carrier opens up, and two blank Power Coins fly out, spin around the pile of living swamp water, and then return to Deku and hit him in the face.
Deku quickly shakes off the shock of the Power Coins hitting him in the face and picks them up to look at them. They're now the same bronze color as the other Power Coins with different images. The first looks like a swamp marsh, while the second has a cube image.
The crowd watching was stunned for only a few seconds before they started excitedly screaming toward the masked hero. Those who weren't taking pictures, videos, or live streaming before are now grabbing their phones to get an image of Kamen Rider Deku's epic pose. Comments were coming in on anyone watching the live streams, and the newscaster was excitedly shouting.
"Did you see that, folks? The mysterious masked hero has just defeated the Nomu! Who is this new rising star within the hero world? Well, I'm going to find out!"
After saying this, Hikaru jumps out of the helicopter, and a pair of wings appear out of her head to lessen her momentum and land gracefully on the ground. As she does this, a camera drone flies out of the helicopter and follows her down.
Hikaru runs up to the now-standing Deku and puts her microphone forward to the masked hero's face.
"Tell us, what should we call you?" Hikaru asks him excitedly.
Seeing Hikaru staring at him intently and the camera drone zeroing in on him made Deku nervous.
"O-oh, m-my name I-Izu- I mean, i-is K-Kamen Rider D-Deku." Deku nervously stutters out most of his sentence, almost revealing his identity.
-------------------
Hisashi lets out a sigh of relief from his lab.
-------------------
Hikaru turns to the camera drone and says.
"There you have it, ladies and gentlemen, the new rising star of the hero world go by the name Kamen Rider Deku."
Inside a dark laboratory sits a figure covered by darkness with only the outline of his round body, thick mustache, and large circular purple-tinted lens glasses. The figure is watching the broadcast before the TV shifts into static, and a different voice begins to talk on it.
"Have you seen the latest broadcast in Musutafu, Doctor?" A deep male voice asks.
"Yes, it was a rather impressive display. I wasn't expecting the Nomu to be defeated there so soon. Nor did I expect someone to figure out how to use multiple Quirks." The man hiding in the shadows tells the person hidden behind the static.
"Do you think you'll be able to replicate the technology used?" The man behind the static asks.
"Possibly. I'll get back to you after a few experiments or when I get my hands on one, Master." The man behind the shadows tells the one he's talking to.
"I look forward to your results, Doctor."

An explosion is released inside a young teen's room in their family's apartment.
"KNOCK IT OFF. YOU DAMN BRAT!" A woman shouts from in the apartment building, followed by.
"FUCK OFF. YOU DAMN HAG!"
A boy with light skin, red eyes, and wild ash blond hair that almost looks like an explosion sits in his room with an angry expression while looking at his now destroyed laptop that was showing the news broadcast.
His phone suddenly rings, and he picks it up.
"WHAT!" The blond angrily shouts.
"U-uh, hey, Bakugou. D-did you see the latest Nomu attack today? Do you think-" Another male teen says over the phone before getting cut off.
"Finish that sentence, and you are fucking dead." His tone didn't make it sound like a threat. No, it sounded like a fact.
"R-right, sorry, man." The teen says on the phone.
"That fucking Deku isn't the bastard behind the mask. He's a worthless quirkless Deku. Got it." Bakugou tells the teen on the phone in an aggressive tone.
"Y-yeah, o-okay." The teen says quickly before hanging up.
-------------------
On the roof of a building close to the sight of the Nomu, a teen the same age as Midoriya and Bakugou is watching Kamen Rider Deku.
The teen is lean with average height, messy black hair, light skin, and purple eyes.
He's wearing a dark grey jacket with black sleeve ends and two breast pockets over a light grey V-neck with blue jeans and black and white sneakers.
A red feather falls in front of his face, and he turns around to see a man in his early twenties with slightly tanned skin, gold eyes behind a rounded yellow visor, and long dark blond slicked-back hair with black headphones with yellow backs on the ear covers.
He wears a black form-fitting shirt with wavy yellow markings under a tan jacket with pouches on its sides and fur ends, tan baggy pants, black ankle-high boots with a dark grey line going down the middle of the front, and black gloves.
The most notable thing about him is the giant pair of red bird wings on his back.
"Hi, Hawks." The teen says in a bored tone before turning to watch Kamen Rider Deku.
"Your grandfather was worried when you snuck away from your bodyguards again, Hikage." The man says with a carefree smirk as he stands next to the teen and leans on the edge to watch Kamen Rider Deku jump away.
"I was curious what the other Quirkless boy was like," Hikage tells him with a shrug.
"So, what do you think of him?" Hawks asks the teen.
The teen shrugs and says.
"He seems okay. I think I'll be able to work with him."
Hawks pats him on the back with a grin and says.
"Glad to hear it. No point in being competitive about it." Hawks says with a laugh.

Hisashi is standing in front of a skyscraper building with a diamond symbol. In his hand is another suitcase like the one that holds his son's Hero Driver.
With a heavy sigh, Hisashi enters the building and is immediately met with a female blue-haired secretary holding a clipboard.
"We've been expecting you, Mr. Midoriya. Please follow me this way." The secretary states
Midoriya follows the secretary as she leads him to an officer on the top floor of the building. The plate on the door reads "Fumihito Hikage" on it. The secretary moves to the side and motions for Hisashi to enter.
Hisashi enters a spacious officer with a man sitting in a chair turned away from him towards the window.
"Enough with the dramatics, sir." The secretary flatly states as she enters behind Hisashi.
There was a loud sigh of annoyance as the person in the chair turned around to face Hisashi and the secretary.
Hisashi is met with the sight of a giant of a man with wrinkled light skin, combed grey hair, purple eyes behind square glasses, and a round nose.
The man is wearing a white suit and has a brown cane in his hands.
"You have to ruin my fun, don't you, Mirai?" The man says in a baritone voice.
"Yes." the secretary says in a matter-of-fact tone.
The man sighs before saying.
"Well, whatever."
He then looks at Hisashi.
"I hope you haven't tried anything with my grandson's Hero Driver, Midoriya." The man tells him with a slight glare as he looks at the suitcase in Hisashi's hand.
"Relax, I'm not going to be an ass and do anything like that. That is unless you try and reverse engineer this copy." Hisashi tells the giant man with a warning glare.
The giant man waves him off.
"Relax. I have no interest in trying to go behind your back on this. Besides, I'd prefer it if as few people here as possible could get their hands on one of these. While I'm trying to clean this place up, there is still plenty of corruption. The fact I was able to get us our own Kamen Rider will be enough to keep the others' mouths shut and keep my position safe." Fumihito explains to Hisashi.
"You sure your grandson will be safe with this?" Hisashi asks the man with a raised eyebrow.
"Don't worry about that. I take every precaution when it comes to my grandson's safety. The Hero Driver will be safe with him." Fumihito tells Hisashi.
Hisashi nods and sets down the suitcase holding the Hero Driver equipment before trying to leave. However, he's stopped by Fumihito.
"Just to be sure, these Power Coins work on people other than those Nomu, correct?" Fumihito asks Hisashi.
Hisashi turns his head and gives a slight nod.
"Perfect then," Fumihito tells him before motioning that Hisashi is allowed to leave.
Fumihito's secretary leaves with Hisashi to show him out, leaving Fumihito in his office. Fumihito looks at the case with the Hero Driver in it and says.
"Shiki can wait a little longer for his present. First, I need to make a stop."

Redefining family; 2022 in review.
In November of 2021 my long-term relationship ended, and life started on a new adventure. One that put my writing goals in the rear view for the time being and sent me in a direction that I couldn’t have envisioned a few years ago.
Lets start with some backstory. I was in a Polyamorous “Vee” relationship. For those that don’t know what this means is that me and another girl were both in a relationship with the same man but not romantically involved with each other. Think roommates with the same boyfriend and you’ll get close to our living arrangement.
My relationship had become unsustainable many years before, but I am stubborn. I stuck it out for another 5 or 6 years. You know, I just had to make sure to beat that dead horse to a pulp, nothing left to save. My ex (My children’s father) was given a medical marijuana card for pain management and after some research decided there was a strain for everything and quit taking his medications.  The story has changed about a dozen times in the past year, sometimes he was sick and forgot to take it, sometimes he was out, sometimes he took it but threw it up. Whatever the result was the same. He was off his mood stabilizers. The person he became was one I was not going to continue to put up with. Stupid is one word for it, dangerously reckless is another, borderline sociopath is another. He totaled our car on the way to pick up pot brownies. (Still went and got the brownies), ended up in the hospital for not taking his meds, aimed a gun at our son. (He doesn’t see anything wrong with it because, “The gun was unloaded, it was as safe as pointing my finger at him.) The last straw was the last straw in a haystack that had been building for years. Messing with my kid is a deal breaker, for both me and the other girl in our relationship.
We took him to his mom’s and left him there.  I tried to take the kids to see him at least once a week. We went for his birthday and for Christmas. But it really felt like I was trying to hold together their relationship for them when he didn’t care.
At home it was me, the other girl, and the two kids trying to figure out where we stand now that our poly relationship was no longer tying us together.
Then 2022 started.  In January we made a trip to the Austin area to visit some friends. I knew by the end of the trip that she’d be in Austin by the end of the year. She moved out in April.
I had a choice to make, I could stay, doing the same job I’d done for 18 years, living in the town that I grew up in, driving the same roads that I always knew, or I could go to Austin and start over. If I stayed, I knew I would never leave again. That choosing to stay was choosing to stay forever. If I went…who knows?
My kids made the decision for me. My daughter started carrying around a picture of her and asking for her Momma. My son cried because he missed her so much, and me, well I felt like I’d lost my best friend. I started job hunting.
I had a couple interviews, which lead to a couple offers. I picked the one that I liked the best. They work me hard, but I enjoy the work, and the environment is very supportive, that goes a long way.
My son started introducing the other girl as his Stepmom. My daughter still sometimes calls her Momma, and we had to redefine our relationship. I call her my partner most of the time. If people ask, I tell them she’s my non-romantic/ non-sexual life partner, that gets some looks. Best friend helping me raise my kids, gets fewer looks. We’re still redefining what family means for us, but I think we’re figuring it out.
A couple things did fall by the wayside this year. I wrote very little. (83,000 words compared to 200,000 as my usual per year) I also read very little. 2022 was the first year that I haven’t updated my good reads account. Mostly because all of the books I read were to my baby. I did finally go in a few days ago and input those children’s books, because I did read them. A lot. Dinosaur in Trouble I can literally quote word for word without ever turning a page.
I did start a book, that became my Nanowrimo project this year.
It’s been a weird year, but a good one for me. I have spent a lot of time exploring my new home and all the things that I never would have gotten to experience if I hadn’t really taken the time to look at what mattered the most. My family.
I’m excited to see what the future will hold for us.

top 5 song associations :   Izuku “Deku” Midoriya
Tumblr media
Wires - The Neighbourhood “We talked about making it, I’m sorry that you never made it and it pains me just to hear you have to say it. You knew the game and played it, it kills to know that you have been defeated - I see the wires pulling while you’re breathing, you can’t be treated. Mr. Know-It-All had his reign and his fall, at least that’s what his brain is tellin all... If he said “help me kill the president”, I’d say he needs medicine. Sick of screaming, let us in. The wires got the best of him. All that he invested in goes straight to hell.”
Dear God - XTC. "I won’t believe in heaven and hell, no saints, no sinners, no devil as well. The pearly gates, no thorny crown - you’re always letting us humans down! The wars you bring, the babes you drown, those lost at sea and never found. And it’s the same the whole world ‘round, the hurt I see helps to compound: the father, son, and holy ghost - they’re just somebody’s unholy hoax! And if you’re up there you’ll perceive that my heart’s here upon my sleeve, if there’s one thing I don’t believe in... It’s you, dear God.”
Saint Bernard - Lincoln. "Hung pictures of patron saints up on my wall to remind me that I am a fool. Tell me where I came from, what I will always be: just a spoiled little kid who went to Catholic school. When I am dead I won’t join their ranks, ‘cause they are both holy and free. And I’m in Ohio, satanic and chained up, and until they end, that’s how it’ll be. I said, make me love myself so that I might love you. Don’t make me a liar, ‘cause I swear to god, when I said it I thought it was true.”
Trapdoor - Twenty One Pilots. “He wakes up early today, throws on a mask that will alter his face. Nobody knows his real name, but now he just uses one he saw on a grave. He pretends he’s okay, but you should see, oh, him in bed, late at night, he’s petrified. Take me out, finish this waste of a life. Everyone gather around for a show, watch as this man disappears as we know. Do me a favor and try to ignore as you watch him fall through a blatant trapdoor. He thinks that faith might be dead, nothing kills a man faster than his own head. He used to see dreams at night, but now he’s just watching the backs of his eyes.”
Water Fountain - Tune-Yards. “Nothing feels like dying like the drying of my skin and lawn. Why do we just sit here while they watch it wither ‘til we’re gone? I can’t seem to feel it, I can’t seem to feel it, I can’t seem to feel, I’ll kneel, I’ll kneel, I’ll kneel, the cold steel. You will ride the whip, you’ll ride the crack, no use in fighting back. You will sledge the hammer if there’s no one else to take the flak. I can’t seem to feel it, I can’t seem to find it, your fist clenched my neck, we’re neck and neck and neck...”
