My favourite thing in the entire world is when show creators hire the same actors for their projects, like I absolutely love the fact that anytime I put something Mike Flanagan created chances are I’ll get to see Carla Gugino or Kate Siegel or Rahul Kohli; and when I see ‘created by Ryan Murphy” Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Connie Britton are just around the corner; my favourite era of movies was when Helena Bonham Carter would appear in almost every Tim Burton project. Jean Weisinger spent much of the 1990s capturing intimate portraits of revolutionary Black women — Audre Lorde, Alice Walker, Angela Davis, and Assata Shakur among them — and impromptu photographs of people she met in her travels across the United States. ⁠ ⁠ Almost none of the artist’s work made its way into museum collections or gallery exhibitions, but from the tiny Alice Austen House in Staten Island, Executive Director Victoria Munro has spent the past two and a half years developing Weisinger’s unrevealed photographs and meticulously documenting the histories behind each one of them.⁠

okay, okay, yes, me and my wife. but also this is a deeply clever and horrifying premise. like "i live in your house" and it becomes true. because he lives in your head, and he is living there. He is in your house even if he isn't.

and you spend the whole time thinking- if its in her head, it will get better once someone else is there- her wife, a loved one who has been expressing concern for her wellbeing.

And then she arrives, and invites him in. And it ends with "do you hear that" and an unbothered "yes".

HORRIFYING. well shot, well written, well composed, well acted.
