i suspect it's aizawa who started it all and one piece just doubled down my slightly piqued interest (everyone was just so smooth in naruto and when they did have facial hair it was full beards and no inbetween, that's potentially what turned me off it initially lmao)

wrt law's pronouns i feel unhinged every time i have to talk about it but like skhdskgb i almost exclusively refer to them with they/them pronouns verbally (this counts maybe?? whenever i'm not writing anyway) but sometimes in headcanons or fics the "he" and "him"s just sort of slip out and they feel natural but not when i'm talking about them casually

by and large i'd much rather people use they/them for law when interacting with me but idk i feel compelled to "pick one" and it's one of those silly things that really shouldn't bother me but does sdkhfskgh

i doodled the old oc i used to have paired with kakashi (they still do live together somewhere in the back of my mind!) alongside law's little kirin chibi but they technically do have an OP version and that's vastly different from who they used to be in the narutoverse nobody's particularly interested in that but me but i still think it's a neat little tidbit :3

i could've easily done this interaction with iruka or shisui - since they were very much comfort characters too, hell, shisui even ended up as an OC (reiji!) cause i loved him that much - but ultimately i ended up picking my og naruto king 💕

You know I'm seeing some people try and say Tomura is becoming like Kotaro after those panels last chapter and now again in 417, like he's become the very thing he hates, and...I'm sorry, but that's some bullshit. They may both be 'bad men' but they are distinct in their personal badness as Overhaul and Redestro, maybe moreso actually.

And the claims towards what their similarities are just seem almost silly to me.

'They're both spreading misery' well sure in a really vague way that could also apply to All Might, Deku, and literally every hero and villain in this series and a lot of the rest of the cast, I guess that's a similarity they share. But I personally feel comparing authoritative domestic abuse and anarchistic super-villainy is a bit of a stretch; it’s why we always considered AFO and Overhaul to be distinct from (and usually worse than) the League proper.

'Tomura's getting Tenko hurt just like Korato by not letting Deku save him' …No? This is a memory guys; Tenko was hurt by Kotaro. It looks to me like Tomura simply doesn't want Deku interfering with his mind (or maybe even attacking his innermost self, as the vestiges have suggested a few times now) but that might just be my read. Because like; Deku came here to figure out his past, here it is being shown to him. Something I find pretty fitting; this whole time Deku's been acting like he's gotta fight so hard to figure out his deal but Tomura's never been shy about sharing his motivations. What more could Deku want seeing this, and is that 'more' not inevitably overstepping and an attempt to alter Tomura's mind? It's not like Tomura has reason to trust this hero's good intentions, so I think it only makes sense for him to let Deku look but not touch. But yeah, If these images are upsetting to see happen; well Deku went digging for them for exactly that reason.

I mean I have even seen it suggested that Tomura is to blame for putting inner Tenko through like this because he's playing his suffering on loop in his mind and...weird Tenko vs Tomura framing aside...what proof is there that a) this is happening all the time in his head rather than this memory replaying because Deku dug for it, and b) if it is on loop; that it is unique for that? Do we have solid reason to believe Deku's memory of being told he can't be a hero isn't on loop in his own heart as well? Maybe every memory is on loop, or maybe this and every other memory is only replayed when it’s remembered; either way we’ve to proof this memory is unique for any of this. It's just such a weird argument I've seen made to suggest Tomura is uniquely wrong for being motivated by his past. In a series that can feel like it loves flashbacks almost as much as Naruto.

Anyway my point is; just because Tomura's a villain who isn't playing ball with Deku's attempts at messing with his core, that doesn't make him his father the domestic abuser. Tenko & Kotaro kind of have their dislike of heroes for their irresponsibility in common (Tomura even famously borrowed his dad's line on that) but that's pretty much it I think, and even then Tomura's hate is broader. I know the typical trope is for the well-intentioned-extremist-type villains to become the very thing they hate; but I just can't see much of that here.

Thank you so much to @pinkvaquita and @quibbs126 for your design suggestions! I know someone else has commented on the og post, and I do appreciate that. Though I may have immediately started working on a design the moment the two mentioned above commented.

Anyway. Here are some concept designs I made.

This is what Powdered Sugar Cookie looks like so far! She's based on 2 types of powdered sugar cookies; crinkle cookies for her dough, and snowball cookies for her general aesthetic.

Btw yes, she is blind in both eyes.

I'll admit, I did see what she'd look like with pale skin, but I didn't like it. Idk, she looked like someone from Naruto. I swear I've seen a character that looks like her somewhere.

Her main weapons are a spear and an instrument called dangbipa. I think I may make her an ambush or magic cookie. Idk.

I don't have her complete backstory fleshed out yet, but she was someone Cacao met back when his kingdom was still fresh and newly established (so like, probs a 1000 years ago). But she needed to leave to serve the two great dragons at some point and left some of her life powder to Cacao.

She asks that he can do whatever he wants with it, and that she only asks him to remember her.

But I'm not sure if it'd work. She has somewhat immortality because of a deal she struck with the two dragons so there's that, but I'm very much not sure if I wanna go with the 1000 years ago route. It feels too long to hold onto a silly crush. Maybe just 100 or 200 years would be enough?

But anyway whatever happens, these things stay constant:

She and Cacao met before the Dark Flour War. Though it was clear they clearly cared for each other, they never officially married, let alone actually dated. It would later become one of Cacao's biggest regrets (besides yanno, not showing your son enough love lol).

When she was called away to serve the dragons, she gave him some of her life powder, and told him he could use it however he wished.

After the Flour War, he used that powder to create Dark Choco because he felt so lonely.

Her Distant Radiance costume is more so a daydream as to what life could've been had she not left her kingdom.

THIS IS WHAT TRUE LOVE LOOKS LIKE - @diyas-diaries-98 All of the short stories in "NaruHina Month 2023" are so cute and stars-in-their-eyes in love, but my fave is "Me in Your Eyes"!! The prompt is already a foundation for the fandom, but you took it to the next level in describing how they see each other🤩

THIS DESERVES TO BE SEEN BY ALL *shares work multiple times* - I have recommended @wickermayne's "Chicken Ramen for the Pervert's Soul" several times, and I will do it again!!! Actually I think "Hinata (Light Femdom)" is the first fic I read/commented on for you....anyway, I love, love, love it. Will always love it.

This is so silly. I LOVE IT! - "Things that Moan in the Night" is just....wow. honestly it was a toss-up between the cold shower and this bingo square, but in the end, it's a really fun smutty fic for me that's experimental in a way most smut fics aren't. I love the writing challenge of switching pov's, especially to 2nd pov.

It's not enough for me to see/read it. I NEED TO EAT IT TO BECOME A PART OF ME! - @lavvdil's "devouring you" for the beauty and the beast prompt!! Hinata's just gorgeous!! I would so love to write that kind of NaruHina, the Naruto who's so close to the demon itself, the Hinata who's so precious to the demon... reminds me of utsu's fic "Monster of the Tales". then @avbocetos's "Kiss the byakugan princess!" art is so, so lovely, the blank period/The Last NaruHina kiss is soooo passionate, and mmmmmm I want to write that so badly. That kind of heart-pounding kiss!

it's sooooo FLUFFY! - "My #1 Supporter" by shineofdawn, ohhh my gosh, so I'm already a sucker for pianist Hinata. But just the way shineofdawn was able to have Hinata's piano music be a support for badminton player Naruto, the connection is so wonderful 😭 and "Promise Rings" by @powerful-niya has gotta be the fluffiest thing Niya has ever written. It's sooo...ugh, love!!! They're in love and promising themselves to each other for forever and it's perfect!!!

FREE - @bornonthebreakofdawn's tanka for "Me in Your Eyes" prompt. I love born's poetry, but this one hit it out of the ballpark for me. In such few words, born touched on how sensitive Naruto must be in the way people look at him, and how different and special it must've been when he saw how Hinata looks at him. Something to ruminate on.

You've already left a kudos/like - @cherpring's "Marriage (Thai Culture)" art!!!! I love seeing NaruHina in different cultures, and then on top of that, this art has so many interesting details, the cushions (?), Naruto's pants, the flowers, their pins... I love their little blushes!!! Definitely one of my fave arts of this month.

I need a cold shower - "Another Baby" by Its_Levioooosaa got me invested, I loved how excited they were 😳 and "Dark Circles" by @bunny-hoodlum ahhhhhhh how exhausted but turned on Naruto was, like, yes, I love that energy!!!

There was so much to analyze in every line, the relationship between them was so complex, nightowl developed their characters so well!!! I was so happy that nightowl read and replied to my comment 🙈

This fic is incomplete and I shall never rest again - "Free Day!" by @opttagoyeo was the one that got me in a chokehold. What does Kurama MEAN that Hinata might be one of them??? The other fics in "NH Month 2023" are great, too, but there's a little bit more of a closure for the "Red Strings of Fate" and "Time Travel." Priest!Naruto is like 2 more meetings away from seductress!Hinata pulling his pants down and giving him the time of his life, but also what is the mystery behind them??? I must know.

Why is this a one-shot? I need 6 seasons and a movie! - "A New Dawn" by madglow and "ready or not" by @secrettastemakerland, I am so impressed at how they crammed entire gigantic plots that could SERIOUSLY be 2 hour long movies into short fics. How. Just how did they do that. I'm left wanting more!! And also, I'm terribly jealous, like, I wish I could write my ideas that well. "A New Dawn" is the Akatsuki!NaruHina the fandom's been waiting for and "ready or not" AHHHH fox!Naruto!!!!! I just, love fox Naruto. So does Hinata.

That lost look in Naruto's eyes...jeez louise my gosh....the tears...the way he's gripping her head... on the flipside, my fave golubhat art this month was the Soviet high school students au!!!!!!, like, tell me more about that!!!!

11pm is a great time to start a 100k slow burn - I know Powerful_Niya's "Reckless Love" 2-shot probably isn't 100k, but it's definitely on the longer side of fics posted this month, and I did start reading it around 11:00. Anyway, delinquent!Naruto and angelic!Hinata are to-die-for in this fic. They are both down bad for each other and practically in denial about it!!

I don't think I'll be able to sleep well after that - @spaciousignatius posts NaruHina fanfics like...maaaybe once a year, and "Taken" is so terribly melancholy yet so worth the wait 😭 I love it and just hope that Naruto and/or Hinata somehow gets even against these military guys.

Wow, that might haunt me in my dreams - and I mean this in a good way. Just like born's tanka, @opal-chan's "Rage Room" got me thinking... on family, forgiveness, internalizing feelings versus externalization. Opal-chan does a fantastic job with portraying the Hyuuga clan in such a raw way.

He's been gone for that long??? I literally went a week thinking about his works randomly in passing and he was gone?

I would never claim to have a vested interest in Akira Toriyama because its not true and him passing doesn't change that. He was however, the creator of a series that brought decades of bonding with my brothers. He was the creator of the series that inspired and continues to inspire manga authors, animators and comic creator's worldwide. Even as I read the author notes in my Naruto or Fairy Tail volumes, the name Akira Toriyama was always brought up by them at least once. In reference to the inspiration he was for all the mangaka that went on to contribute to the Shonen genre.

He was also the creator of the series that made me appreciate animation, and helped me discover that I had potential as an artist even at just 11 years old. As a child living with my 5 siblings, 4 which were my brothers, Dragon Ball Z was practically on 24/7. Did I know enough about the world outside the screen to recognize the name of Akira Toriyama at the time? No I definitely didn't. But I still was motivated to learn the style even just a little. And I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't a fan of dragon ball. I'd be lying if I said I was a casual fan. Saying I'm a semi casual fan of Dragon Ball Z is more closer to the truth. The series is and always has been with me whether I acknowledge it or not. I love Dragon Ball Z much like all my fellow manga/anime fans.

There was a silly game my brothers and me were playing where whoever drew Gohan the best, won the Hero Factory build contest (it was a tie or something so the following art contest was the tie breaker) Well, I drew Gohan in his Piccolo Gi from the Cell Games from memory, cape and all. My siblings practically said I won as a unanimous vote. Sadly, I misplaced that drawing the very night I drew it and I remember being so devastated to have lost it. Clearly because I remember vividly enough to ramble about it now. The point is, winning that silly contest and drawing Son Gohan from memory was what I believe motivated me to pursue art even a little more than before.

So yes, I think I can thank Akira Toriyama for that. Funny the things you realize when you lose something important.

So all this to say, I am extremely saddened and honestly shocked that Akira Toriyama is no longer on Earth with us. Its surreal in a way I wasn't prepared for. He was even younger than Stan Lee and I remember being just as effected by his passing. Its interesting how a societal figure you always knew and could check in on or hear news about for most of your life, suddenly isn't there anymore.

Its silly. I was just thinking a few hours ago about what the difference in my interests and personal pursuits were if I didn't watch TV with my brothers as a little girl. Would I have discovered Sailor Moon on my own? Would I have delved into magical girls before 2022? Would I even know or like anime??? Would I watch avatar??? And then one of the key figures from that world I grew up with my brothers in turns out to have passed away a mere week before I think like this.

Anyway, these are my immediate thoughts from this news. I'm grateful to Akira Toriyama, I only wish I took the time know him and his story better while he was with us.

Anyways! Wee fun mac hc time!!

Joe: Mac and Joe hanging out would be 1 of 2 options. Either they're going to a small bookstore and then a coffee shop just to chill n read. Or Mac is dragging Joe to his friend's house so they can all watch scurry movies with his goth buds. No in between and both enjoy both options equally.

Kaiser: Field trip. Literally, that's it. Kaiser would treat Mac like one of his students and take him to a museum or something. Mind you, it isn't a BORING museum- probably something sports related if anything- but it's not exactly what Mac pictured when he asked to hang out. They also get pizza and ice cream for lunch :)

Disco: Hanging out at Disco's place and just playing. They spend most of the time being silly with instruments and then wind down with some Mario party or something.

Hippo: Mac would end up learning a new language OR they'd end up playing with all of Hippo's hot wheels. Hippo is a big linguistics guy and Mac likes to listen to people talk so Mac would just end up sitting quietly the whole time while Hippo infodumps stuff at him. Hippo would also feed him and let him play with the hot wheels in his house if he's careful.

Hondo: They'd make cosplays and watch anime together! Mac's a p observant guy so he'd pick up on Hondo's sewing machine, ask about it, and they'd end up building some Naruto stuff from spare fabric from there. Lotsa fun!! They'd also go to a bunch of sushi restruants and try all they're stuff- til they're sick at least lol.

Bear: Hiking and magic animal adventures the whole way! Mac's a city kid through and through so the woods freak him out a bit- good thing Bear and his animal friends are there to ease his fears! Mac also ends up learning a lot about the ecosystem and plant life around where Bear lives so bonus points for cool learning stuff.

Tiger: Tiger would probably bore Mac with trying to teach him chess at first before switching to showing him how he makes his music. He'd also convince the boy to watch mlp with him and they'd just binge it until Doc calls asking where his boy is. Tiger would probably accidentally teach Mac poker. Whoops.

Don: Don would take him to a street fair or a market and IMMEDIATELY lose him. He'd spend the next 5 hours trying to hunt him down and end up finding him less than a foot of where he last saw him. After that, hand-holding is mandatory. They'd also get gelato together and watch Carmen do her clown shtick (Don won't shut up about how wonderful she is lol)!

Aran: Aran would treat him like one of his younger siblings and keep a hard eye on him. He'd take mac to an age and sensory appropriate place, so probably an art fair or a festival that he can easily escape if he needs to. He also makes sure Mac is fed a hearty meal, drinks water, and has as much fun as possible. No way in hell is he gonna get caught being an irresponsible adult when they're together. He's also teach Mac an artsy thing or two (Basic painting, welding, sculpting, etc.)

Soda: Soda would definitely be an irresponsible adult around Mac and overfill him with fun things. They'd go to a big ass amusement or water park together, eat nothing but soda and sugar, and they'd fuck around until they're left overstimulated and sick. Doc and/or Bull has to come and pick them up.

Bull: Inside activities ONLY. No way is Bull going out. But they end up having fun with puzzles and making friendship bracelets. They play Mario kart and then some more chill games and get pizza too!

Macho: Swimming all day for sure. Mac doesn't know how to swim so Macho ends up having to teach him the basics but they have fun either way. And after they're all done and sunburnt, they go inside and play halo and drink capri sun until Doc picks Mac up.

Sandy: Another responsible adult! He wouldn't have much of a plan per se, so him and Mac would end up goofing off in random parts of whatever city they're in- going to parks, the zoo, a museum, whatever until they're tuckered out.

One piece of advice to anyone who follows this blog : Discredit anything that SS fans tell you right away. Like without thinking. Like lightning fast. Because that's all they deserve and you deserve to get good returns on your time and effort, so don't bother to waste your grey cells thinking about their rants. They are insanely irrational and delusional. Just dismiss their theories, and laugh at them. It's all their theories are good for. Comedy material.

During the war arc, Sakura only starts to get significant footage after Sasuke arrives on the scene, before that we see her only twice or so, for a handful of panels that I can count on my fingers. War arc is over 200 chapters long, lol. Like damn. It's because her character revolves around Sasuke and so her 'relevance' is mostly only highlighted when Sasuke is around. And no wonder, because as soon as he enters the war fields, she starts to arrogantly show off and jump around, but mostly getting struck down anyway. Lol. But otherwise Kishi cannot bother to waste panel space on her, shows how much he thinks of her, lol. Kishi emphasizes over and over again how futile her attempts to attract Sauske's attention were. Throughout war arc.

Sasuke just cannot bother with her, could not give a fuck.

Even before this, in kage arc, Sasuke is bent on killing Sakura who just attempted to trick him, thinking someone like Sasuke would fall for sabotage orchestrated by someone like her, who doesn't even know how to set a trap right. Lol. But he doesn't stop, and attempts to kill her the second time in defence. Of course Naruto rescues her, like always. Naruto arrives and talks to Sasuke, so a seething, overwhelmed, and enraged Sasuke calms down. And accepts Naruto's proposal. She sees all of this.

She is weak and needs to be rescued over 90 percent of the time. The only time she is actually able to perform adequately is when there's someone else pulling her strings, literally in Chiyo's case. In war arc, she punches the ground and kills a few fodder ten tail minions. That's all. After that, she tries to charge at Madara mindlessly and gets stabbed. She isn't able to stab Obito's eye. She is only able to punch Kaguya because Kakashi diligently sets it up for her. She gets beaten up by Kumo warriors when they arrive in Konoha to gather info on Sasuke and needs to be again rescued by Naruto. She needs to be rescued in Pein arc as well when she screams for Naruto. Even during the second bell test, it's Naruto who figures out how to trick and defeat Kakashi, not Sakura. She was useless in part one, she could not stop Sasuke, wasn't even a part of Sasuke retrieval arc. So she decides that she would train. She gets some credit when she fights Sasori but it's honestly only because of Chiyo. She gets knocked out by Kabuto in such a silly way. All the other times, she either just stands around or heals people.

In the war arc, she tries to get Sasuke's attention so she performs for him, of course, who cares there is a war going on, she would rather focus on her vanity. Because that's just who she is, a narcissistic character. But he doesn't even glance at her. Instead, his focus is completely set on the enemy and Naruto. If he needs to discuss something, he talks to Naruto. If he needs to explain something, he talks to Naruto, if he needs to plan an attack or devise strategies, Naruto. He doesn't even consider Sakura worthy of sharing his plans because what's she gonna do? He could see that she wasn't able to do much other than trying to show off, Sasuke understands her nature pretty well.

She knows Sasuke would go to extreme lengths to protect Naruto but wouldn't even care for her if she was on the verge of death. Even in part one, he always prioritized Naruto over her. That's just how it is. She is jealous of Naruto. Resentful.

Which is why she says this.

In her highly inappropriate and deeply ill timed confession, she whines to Sasuke that she knows she cannot be an equal to him like how Naruto is. Not emotionally or in physical strength. She cannot get close to him, like Naruto is. She cannot exchange blows with him, like Naruto does. What she can do is cry, whine and beg and yes, which she does and yes, it very much is pitiful.

This is the context.

Honestly, this is such a simple scene. Simple meaning. The context is so damn clear. SS try to cope so damn much, they twist and deform everything.

I would also like to suggest fans to give the scene a read themselves when they hear SS say something. Just a cursory read will do and it will be clear as crystal. There's no need to be confused. Kishi is a very generous writer. What he wants to tell you, he will and he does, just listen to him. Don't pay attention to SS stans or any of their theories. They can't help being themselves.

narcistoru/secretoru: Yeah i can gurantee this is the only submission for them for Some Reason. Because no one ships them. Like i have searched the internet far and wide and turn up with like. Close to literal zero. And here's the thing, this is entirely illogical. They work together in this evil group and their deals are essentially that they're. Unhappy people. At first you think they're just annoying but actually they're annoying snd Extremely Miserable. In silly ways, they are such losers and so cringefail. I could write an essay on both of them individually, but basically i love how their focus isn't on being better people, it is on being happier. Individually.

The show is divided into clear parts of who is the main antagonist at the time which really makes you FEEL how unhappy they each are. They're a group but they're also not bc they choose to be unhappy ad get on each other's nerves about it and that's a prime focus of their characters. Anyway, these two make me insane, they spend a lot of time together during the middle part of the show, bc the first villain is gone so now it's just the two of them and their leader who isn't doing much yet. After this part, one of them, narcistoru, is defeated so he's gone for the time being. But these two, they hate each other SOOOOOOOO much it's insane. This is because Narcistoru is an annoying bitch and Secretoru hates that. And they're both generally insane people with dumb beliefs and issues that they view wrongly. It's just so glorious to see them annoy each other so much. Post Narcistoru's main screen time, he gets his conclusion episode. He escapes from prison and Secretoru is supposed to retrieve him. But like not because they need him, in fact, they absolutely did not care that he was arrested because none of these people give a flying fuck about each other. It's just that he wasn't supposed to be a risk. Secretoru and Narcistoru have a rather petty and hilarious fight. Because you see. Now they don't have to get along. They are not on the same side. So the hostility is really thriving here. In fact, she manages to capture him, and while fighting the pretty cures (magical girls), hensays some annoying shit and she goes "actually i changed my mind" and shoves him off this rock in order for the monster (they always summon one) to fucking kill him. Like she tries to murder him in cold blood soley because he's annoying and this was entirely inevitable actually. She wants that twink obliterated. They don't bring this up again in the finale when they're both in prison. They just. Kind of hang out now. They've reached a level of tolerance.

And you may think "why do you ship this" LOOK. THEIR INTERACTIONS. ARE SO FUNNY. IT'S JUST. A VERY FUN SHIP. BECAUSE THEY'RE HILARIOUS. The hostility is so great and i think it would be neat if they had some t4t hatesex. It would solve nothing. They mske each other so much worse. But it would be very hot. Also secretoru has a general "can you shut the fuck up" attitude towards him. I don't even technically ship it but i ENJOY the ship.

And yet. I am so alone in this which is insane because i definitely expected ship content for them even before i actually wanted it myself.

But no, of course people ship Narcistoru with actual fifteen year olds. Like so much. And there is ZERO content for the ship with the other Actual Adult that he interacts with on a regular basis and who he has a fantastic and entertaining and INTERESTING dynamic with. So basically, i am not just sad, i am also SO SALTY. They are so insanely rarepair despite being an absolute epic duo. Awesome crackship, 10/10, literally comedy

i wanna say wyll but like that shit actually makes me fucking angry and not in a silly haha way so i am going to instead say sera dragonage. now. i know there are a lot of sera dragonage haters out there and there are some things about her that i do not like. however i overall love her and i think she is a tragic case of bad writing and wasted potential. why did they have a straight white guy write a lesbian whose character arc revolves around internalized racism. why does the game literally talk shit about her during her romance arc. literally one of her romance quests is "you love sera and wanna get her something to show her how much you care. go ask your friends for gift advice" and EVERY SINGLE COMPANION OR ADVISOR IS JUST LIKE. a lot of people may talk about the parallel between minakushi and sasunaru in the minato oneshot but when i read it... it just warm my heart to see how much naruto got from both his mom and dad...

i love how naruto got his rebellious nature from his mom, a fellow jinchuriki who understood the burden of being a weapon of the state, of having a massive, incompressible monster sealed within themselves... not having much means to understand the companion that lives within their headspace. hell, the anbu guards might be kinder to kushina but it's pretty obvious she's treated by many in konoha in a very... distant way because it really seems like she's even more unstable as kurama's vessel than naruto

which is not surprising because her circumstances are slightly different from naruto... i guess she might've got kurama around the age of 12, which is around that time when puberty is creeping up on you. and ofc puberty = heightened emotions, so she must've been struggling between understanding not just her own, but also kurama's emotions being trapped without any freedom. and it ended up with kurama easily influencing her, even more than naruto, as kurama seems to understand just how much frustrations she got about not just being a jinchuriki, but also the burdens that comes with the responsibility.

with minato tho i think naruto mostly inherit superficial stuff from him, from his looks to his silliness, but also it's pretty obvious naruto's more positive attitude and wanting to befriend everyone are something he got from his dad lol even though it's none of his business he'll interfer if it means being able to protect the people he loves

side note: anyway, i find it Very Interesting that both kushina and mito still use their family name even after they got married, compared to characters from other clans... and it gives us 2 very interesting possibilities. 1) hashirama and minato is just that unconventional of a husband that they don't really care about traditions, or, 2) uzumaki even as a dying clan, is such a powerful representative of uzushiogakure that the women bearing the family name should not gave up her surname even after marrying outside of their clan

and in some ways, naruto being a blond boy with blue eyes uzumaki is the antithesis of everything uzumaki lol

Why I like Sakumo x Orochimaru

I just looked up Sakumo x Orochimaru for the first time here on Tumblr despite me reading every single SakuOro fic there ever was, and apparently people don’t like it? I mean, I suppose at first, I was skeptical as well, like? How would that even happen? They didn’t even interact with one another. But then I eventually fell in love with the ship, probably because I like Orochimaru lol.

So first, let me talk about what I like about Orochimaru, or at least the Orochimaru that exists in my mind. I am under the impression, from the flashbacks, that Orochimaru wasn’t all that bad back when the Sannin was still complete. Jiraiya and Tsunade were there for him and made sure to keep him in the light. As we see during the time when he offered to kill off the three orphans. To me, that shows that Orochimaru was morally gray even before, but I don’t think he was malicious during that scenario. Think of it this way, they were orphans in a war-stricken place in a shinobi world, they would steal for food and they’d be able to survive, but time will come where they’d be caught and killed or taken and sold. Either way, had Jiraiya not stayed with them, they were going to suffer regardless. So, in my eyes, Orochimaru believed he was being helpful. (Or maybe I try to look too much for a good side in people lol I’m working on it I swear)

Then Jiraiya stayed behind with the orphans. Then Tsunade left. Then Sarutobi was busy with his Hokage duties, and we all know Orochimaru wouldn’t run to him for help anyway. And suddenly, Orochimaru was all alone in a village that barely tolerated him. Because the villagers didn’t really like Orochimaru like how they adored his two other teammates – who left the village in wartime might I add! Furthermore, he was also grieving because I assume that Nawaki was his student since he was with him on the mission that eventually killed him and his teammates. 

He was isolated and grieving without his two anchors. He was already morally gray even before all of this happened, so I see why he had ended up doing those horrible experiments. He started becoming obsessed with eternal life back when his parents died, now with his genin team dead and his teammates leaving him, I can see how he’d end up the way he did. And I bet my entire arm that Danzo had a hand in how Orochimaru eventually started with the experiments. Who else would provide him with orphans to experiment in but that ugly, slimy, disgusting, war-hawk bastard? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not excusing Orochimaru’s experiments because those are horrible and he deserves death at least 100x, but also, what if he wasn’t alone and he had someone to keep him afloat before he even went down that road? That’s where Sakumo comes in.

We are all suckers for aloof morally gray men with golden retriever boyfriends! Admit it!! Okay maybe not all of us, but I bet a lot of us like that pairing! I adore those pairings aaaaa

I’m not incredibly certain regarding the timeline of when Sakumo died and when Orochimaru left, but let’s pretend that after Tsunade left Sakumo was still alive. What if Sakumo was there for Orochimaru when his teammates left him and his genin died? What if, in return, Orochimaru was there for him when the villagers were being stupid and hating on him for saving his team? What if they were there for each other before everything went bad? It’s all of those “what ifs” that makes the Sakumo x Orochimaru ship really attractive to me personally.

Side note: I also like how good of a parent Orochimaru is to Mitsuki and I want Kashi to have a nice childhood that’s all.

I’m not saying everyone should ship SakuOro because that’s silly, we all have different tastes and I know a lot of Naruto fans aren’t fond of Oro and that’s perfectly fine! I just wanted to give insight on why I, personally, like the ship. <3

I used to read x reader fics as a kid (probs at 10-12?) but since it isn’t very acceptable even in some fandom spaces, I stopped. When I found your writing, I still felt a little weird about it and almost ashamed? But your writing has given me back the joy I felt as a kid reading silly x reader Naruto fics in the best of ways???

Like. I remember reading Penance for the first time, and pressing to get notifications whenever you post to keep track of your writing? And seeing the “study has posted ‘Penance - Chapter 10’” gave me so much joy. I can’t even express it with words. Seeing you post anything, writing or not, just makes me so happy. <3

And today I was rereading some old Penance asks, and my dad asked what I was grinning about and I just dismissed him but he said something along the lines of “it’s nice to see you smile, anyway.” I know your writing isn’t, like, the cure to depression (actually it might be), but. When it comes to x reader fics I’ll be honest with you, I never wrote a single one in the many many years I’ve been writing. I took a very long hiatus from tumblr and writing after the porn ban gutted my friend group on here and Arcane kinda dragged me back to tumblr after I fell in love with it. I wanted to start writing again after devouring Gaybybirth’s entire Viktor library and when I took a look at the landscape of fic writing, x readers were literally all I saw, so I figured what the hell, that’s the popular format now I might as well. I get the appeal of it too; you can more easily slip yourself into the story and enjoy the canon character you want to bang without having to wrestle with someone else’s OC standing between you and your beloved blorbo. I’m not sure it’s the best format for my work but I enjoy it and so far it’s been loads of fun to play with. I’m definitely shifting slowly, moving away from y/n use which tbh feels kind of childish and awkward and interrupts the flow, and more toward first person perspective OC vibes that people can still feel comfortable reading as themselves.

None of that matters though. What matters is how I’m going to be thinking about this sweet, wonderful message for a very long time, and how happy I am that something I made could mean so much to you. “It’s nice to see you smile” … that’s a pretty awesome power, but I think it also belongs to you 🖤🖤🖤🖤

Day 2 of Tekken 8 Demo

I just played the Tekken 8 demo again, this time mostly playing as Kazuya (as well as Jin and Nina for a bit). Kazuya has some special intros/interactions with Jun and Shaheen (Jun's determination to save Kazuya from his darkness and trauma; Shaheen wanting to avenge his friend like "you took everything from me" and kaz just looks at him like "i don't even know who tf you are"))...but why doesn't he have any special intros/outros/win poses with Nina, Asuka, Azucena, or Paul?!

>Azucena is pretty much probably his only ally (because Anna, Bruce, and Lucky Chloe are not in this game). Although Eddy Gordo was also cut from this game too, I guess Shaheen may as well be his replacement in a way (damn do e-sports players hate Eddy for losing to spam and cheese in player matches/ranked matches that much to the point where he got that joke ending in Tekken 7 and now he won't even be in Tekken 8?!).

Same reason why Hinata Hyuga from Naruto gets so much love and favoritism from Studio Pierrot and the Naruto fandom (especially Japanese fans) over Sakura Haruno, and why Rosalina gets more attention than Daisy in the Mario Franchise lately (especially when Rosalina got into Super Smash Bros before her and Rosalina was also in Mario Strikers: Battle League at launch but not Daisy). Maybe it's because some fans strongly prefer the more feminine and introverted female characters over the confident tomboyish brash female characters. Of course these sentences are NOT meant to blame or slander Jun, Rosalina, or Hinata because I like all three of them as characters. It's just some coincidence I noticed.

I always thought Nina was cold to her son for similar reasons why Jin wants to live a solitary life, out of pure fear that Steve might get dragged into the either the Mishima conflict or her rivalry with Anna (ex. Anna Williams might kidnap him or something), she's just simply trying to protect her son in a way.

Anyways that's just my silly thoughts for now.
