Tim’s promotion

We all saw the Eric’s spoiling Bradford’s promotion.

I just want to write down my opinion on it since I saw a lot of speculations and we are on a break anyway.

1: We know a promotion would have to happen eventually for Chenford to truly happen.

2: Tim wouldn't accept a promotion that would put a bigger obstacle to his relationship with Lucy because “it’s worth the risk”. We know he can refuse it if he wants to.

3:He’s happy with being a Sergeant and wouldn’t take a promotion that would put him in a bad mood. Lucy wouldn’t want that as well.

Which brings meta one of the theory floating around.

4: He won't take Grey’s job. We all saw how unhappy in 5x09 when he was in Grey’s role. He needs action, he needs to be on the streets. They told us that many times and Lucy knows that too. She won’t let him take a promotion he will be unhappy with only for them to be together.

5: He won’t became a watch commander in another station. In another Station, they would have to build a complete new set, have new roles and that would mean we would see way less of him. Logistic would be awful for them.

6: OR on another shift, P2 officier does sometimes works on night shift right?. So even if Tim becomes a Watch commander for the night shift, Lucy would sometimes fall under is command when she does night shifts. That wouldn't resolve their problems. Plus, the only time we would see them together is when they do work on the same shift.

7: While they are main characters they are not the lead, the show is still about Nolan. Would they transfert Tim, we would see way less of him at work and that doesn't mean we would see more of them in their routine, because they are not the lead. People wouldn't like to see less of him

So, I think they (perhaps Grey) will just open a new spot for him that require a new stipe and it will open a new line of command where Lucy won't fall under.

Ps: Some people are concern about Tru’s comments on Eric’s bird post about his absence. *where are you.. we’re waiting for you” (something like that). Keep in mind that we have no idea what’s going on behind the scene. They are showing us what they want to show us. They love to play with us. We barely had any Melissa and Eric’s BTS since the beginning of the year. Look where we are now.

I wrote this all out while pretending to work and actually working so it’s a little all over the place. But now I’m laughing reading it back because it genuinely looks like one of the “check up” texts I send to mom/dad about my brother. Minus the qaf related topics at the end. Anyway, hi! Hope you’re doing well and had a good start of the week! And now back to the idiot I’m related to:

Take a guess who has been listening to Lover’s spit sincere yesterday? I’m talking sitting outside, drinking his coffee while it’s absolutely freezing and listening to Lover’s spit like he’s in some sad music video. (Btw the songs he listened to were Lover’s spit, you look so fine (which was in like s1 so he was really going through it), Save the last dance, Here nor there and true faith. And this was on a loop!) And the only thing he has “said” to me so far is just a simple lip smack with a side eye whenever he looks at me. So i’d say he is doing as expected but he’s also upset with me for making him like the show (bc yeah, i did that. I made him have a crush on Brian)

He also has bunch of doctor check ups today and I can only drop him off and later pick him up since my work is hectic since holiday’s are coming up. And ngl i am keeping all the doctors and nurses in my thoughts today. Usually (even tho it doesn’t look like it) i stop him or at least limit his ramblings so i have no clue how today will go. He might surprise me and behaves like an adult. Also he said that he barely slept overnight because he kept thinking about what could happen in the last 3 episodes and in case you wanted to know, he told me that through the cat. As in ‘Brian, guess who didn’t sleep today cause of Justin and the other Brian? That’s right, me’ and yes, it was said in a baby voice. I did also get a text from his friend asking me if he’s doing okay cause apparently he sent him a voice memo “talking about Brian and how he’s really worried about him” and my brother has absolutely no memory of even sending that. All this is just after 5x09. I am mentally not prepared for him after the finale.

But to answer some of your questions since I didn’t have the chance to yesterday: He only watches the American RuPaul. And he watched season 5 because of Jinkx (on Saturday he watched the video they did with Trixie a few years ago so he started to miss them). And yes, he has managed to drag the entire family into qaf although grandma has no fucking clue what or who he’s talking about so she just nods her head and smiles. And grandpa only knows about it through grandma who is even less reliable than my brother. But he is very happy that he found a hobby even tho at first he thought Brian was his friend. So basically: yes, he has made it everyone’s problem.

And you saying he’s just like Debbie if she was a man made me laugh so hard cause I’ve been thinking the same thing! Im glad someone agrees with me. And I’m happy(?) to report that 3 of our cousins and our aunt(!) actually got in trouble with our grandpa because it turns out they had bets going on if he’ll figure out by the end of the show that he might be a little queer. And then during a family dinner last week it was revealed that it was our uncle who was the one behind the bets and it was his husband who exposed him (yes the uncles whose wedding he went to with rainbow hair). And no it was not cause he thought the bets were immature but because my uncle didn’t let him be in charge with him. So I’d say the whole family is kinda waiting to see what happens and also treating it like their personal entertainment since we do tend to be more chill with these topics (which is such a huge blessing and we really are lucky about the fact that they dont even bat an eye at anything queer related including coming outs). Also I honestly have no idea how he will react to the proposal. I keep trying to think about it and I can never pinpoint his reaction. His reaction to the comic book was as if he saw the worst thing ever so we shall see. Which tbh same, i always hated that cover story :/

As for the Gale/Randy/Hal thing: first of, I didn’t expect that people were going to later talk about it to you so i hope I didn’t cause problems for you of any kind. But I do admit that even years later, it’s still a topic that has me curious since we know so little and since the lack of social media meant they (aka hal) was shady in interviews. Who does that omg? But also: i was so shocked when he said that. Wish you could see him cause he really had that look in his eyes as if he was there and saw them arguing every day and had inside knowledge and like I was the one who didn’t know anything about qaf. You could literally see the wheels turning in his head trying to figure out if he was right or not. I do wonder how he will feel about it once I tell him the little info I know about.

Btw, im glad to hear you cat is doing well. It is the absolute worst when an animal is sick since they can’t tell you what’s wrong. So please give Emmett some kisses and pets!

Oh and the most important part: your little teasers about your fic are making me lose my mind. Nonbinary Gus?! Older Brian?? I might lose my mind completely when i get the chance to read it.

I’m so glad you wrote because I wanted to remind you and let you make a decision based on whether he’s been paying attention to the titles.

I’m sorry I find it so funny he’s angry with YOI for making him care so much about this show and fall in love with Brian. It’s like when my dogs are mad at me for the rain. (If you’re doing math I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, all rescues because some lesbian stereotypes are accurate.)

Your family is taking bets about whether your brother is going to come out as so form of queer? I love that! Way better than the qaf family taking bets about how long Justin and Brian were going to last.

Don’t worry about mentioning the drama from the cast! I’m still so impressed with how insightful your brother is and how much he’s picked up on everything that the fandom discusses at length. The dynamics between the cast were bound to be one.

Emmett the cat continues to do well and come back from poor pathetic sickly mewmew to absolute bastard of a cat. We love to see it.

I am hoping to start posting my fic next week. I was hoping to have more done but oh well! I need the pressure of readers to focus lol. I’m so glad you’re excited!

Didn’t they do a flashback in the ep where Cas got stabbed by a spear where like. There was a high level ~knight of hell~ dude or something who wanted to just chill on earth fishing and shit. And when the original crossroads demon died, Crowley was the messenger who showed up to tell the guy he had inherited the title. And the dude was like “don’t wanna, go away” and Crowley was like “but then who will be the new king of the crossroads??” And the dude was like “don’t know, don’t care, why don’t you do it if you care so much?” And Crowley was just like “👀 ok” did that happen or did I fucking purgatory gaslight myself

so like. what crowley offers ramiel in 12x12 is the throne of hell. he's already king of the crossroads. lilith holds dean's deal in season three but that doesn't necessarily mean that she's queen of the crossroads - azazel can make kiss deals, or at least, that's the implication of in my time of dying [there is an alternate interpretation that's possible; when john asks if azazel can save dean azazel says "no but i know someone who can" which is probably meant to imply like, deeper demonic forces being called on because season two still had a little bit of mysticism happening, but may just imply that azazel calls up a discrete crossroads demon to make the deal for him. who knows].

and lilith is like, ruling in hell, so she can probably hold any deal she wants. however, the first mention of crowley in the show - 5x09 - refers to him as lilith's right hand man. it's not proof that lilith was queen of the crossroads - she could easily have simply gotten crowley on her side because crossroads demons are useful. and additionally, the mention of him is specifically that bela gave crowley the colt, which implies that he was maybe handling the deal? but then there's the "lilith holds every deal" line from time is on my side. so maybe crowley is replacing lilith.

however, this is fucking stupid, so i'm biased against believing it. so like. in jus in bello, ruby refers to lilith as a new up and comer, trying to fill the role that azazel left open, but that's also stupid? lilith is literally the first demon and the implication in season four, when more of the actual institutional structure of hell is revealed, is almost certainly that she outranks azazel. so potentially ruby was lying. additionally, bela's line that ruby holds every deal implies that she's like, a pretty undisputed ruler in hell. and again she's like a chosen one for demons she is the one who has to raise lucifer. so it doesn't make sense for her to be a new up and comer. but that is how she's discussed in season three? like, sam is a threat to her because she's vying for power?

but also now we're bumping up against the fact that boy king sam and vessel sam do not mesh at all and in particular lilith spending two years trying to kill sam because he was a threat only to reveal at the end that actually she needed him to do her dirty work suggests that a lot of earlier stuff was straight up falsehood to manipulate him, so ruby lying about lilith being an up and comer makes sense. but also this is all rationalization that is definitely working against the intent of a lot of the canon, but also the intent of the canon is muddy and changes every time the writers need to think of a new baddie.

anyway if lilith was ruler of hell then it makes sense for her to hold every deal without being queen of the crossroads. so like. if we want to work with an unstupid supernatural canon, then lilith was queen of hell, and crowley was already king of the crossroads when he was her right hand man. having the king of the crossroads as her most esteemed underling would make sense since manipulating various people into crossroads deals was integral to hell's plans in early seasons.

but if we want to work with the text a little more and not massage it so much. then, regardless of whether or not she was queen of hell (either is possible), lilith was queen of the crossroads before crowley inherited the title. this would also explain why a deal with her is sealed with sex, although a lot of things could explain that.

“Where have you been? Food’s getting cold.” Taylor’s voice is bright and cheerful and why wouldn’t it be, after all she’s a woman in love.

“Just grabbed a quick shower”

Buck tries to match her tone , he’s not sure that he manages it. He tries for a smile and gets halfway there, hopes some of it reaches his eyes but she’s not looking, so maybe it doesn’t matter anyway.

Taylor’s busy with the plates, “ok strange timing but whatever”

She turns and hands him his plate and they sit down to eat together and talk, couple things, because that’s what they are and they’re in love, that’s what they said this evening; that’s what sent him to the bathroom to hide.

A little Earlier

Taylor said she loved him so obviously dinner has been delayed slightly by a trip to the bedroom to celebrate, which was fun, that always is , he’ll never say no to that kind of distraction but distractions are regrettably temporary.

After the celebration ended Taylor declared she was hungry and went to pick up where they left off preparing dinner. He retreated to the bathroom, he just needed a moment to himself.

Alone with the door closed he allowed himself to feel whatever had been bubbling away inside him, it’s hard to name it but it can’t be regret or panic, it can’t be because a good thing just happened, a really good thing.

It’s a good thing.

It is.

The rim of the sink is cool under his fingers, his knuckles are white around the edge of it. He takes a deep breath then another.

It’s a good thing.

That’s what he’d said too ‘good’ then the other thing, because you did, didn’t you, when someone says it to you, rude not to.

And anyway he does, you know, do that.

Love her.

He does.

He’s pretty sure he does.

It’s close anyway. Close enough.

It’s probably almost as good as love.

He should go out and help with dinner. He turns on the shower instead, lets the water run.

It should feel special. No one’s ever said it to him before.

A tiny part of his brain, one that’s remarkably underused, whispers it that right? Has no one ever said they love you? There’s an echo of a conversation in a hospital. That conversation felt like someone had been saying something like I love you but with different words, words that started with ‘because Evan’ but that wasn’t the same thing, it couldn’t possibly be. That was just wishful thinking.

His eyes flick up and catch his reflection in the mirror. He sees the frown before he quickly looks away again. Best not to think about it.

Best not to think too hard about any of it.

God he wishes Maddie was here. He wants to talk to her so badly.

A deep breath has him standing up straight again, ok so maybe this isn’t how he’d expected to feel after exchanging ‘l love yous’ but sometimes things are different in a grown up relationship, maybe, maybe he just jumped the gun a little on his feelings and once the words have settled he’ll feel it more.

That’s all he needs a bit more time.

He gets in the shower, lets the water wash over him and if there’s more than just water running down his cheeks, well who can tell.

When he goes downstairs and eats dinner with his girlfriend he tries to smile and gives it more time and wonders just how much longer it will take.

I know they're gonna break up and i think it will happen in 5x09 but i hope they won't do it bc of their jobs and busy schedules because that could be seen like "i like you, i may even love you but we're not on the same page because our jobs don't allow us to be together" which is NOT the case, i'd rather see buck start questioning things like the fact that he feels towards eddie things that should feel for taylor or something like that, even without eddie in the equation if it's too soon

I'm not sure how I missed this one, since you sent it a while ago, but yeah, I don't think it's going to be a "our jobs don't allow us" thing, I think it's going to be more of a "if you actually wanted to be in a relationship with me, there's definitely a way to have this job you love and also have a better work-life balance but you have consistently opted not to do this."

I don't particularly want the breakup to have anything to do with Eddie, though. The same way Eddie's breakup didn't have anything to do with Buck, because the lesson Eddie needed to learn with that relationship was that it was okay for him to put himself first, and make decisions based on what he wants rather than just what Chris wants (or what Eddie perceives Chris wants).

With Buck, the lesson he's got to internalise is that he's not being selfish when he asks for someone to prioritise him every once in a while. I think right now, he obviously has blatant and constantly reiterated self-worth issues, but they've also frequently come wrapped in a package of people (multiple people, not just Taylor) telling him that he's making something unnecessarily about himself -- or saying something that, because he's already primed to hear that, he interprets that way. And he's in this tricky headspace where his self-worth is already basically zero and people still keep telling him to stop thinking he's important/the cause of the problem and I had a totally different point when I started writing this paragraph but, like, of course Buck hasn't quite internalised the "you act like you're expendable, but you're wrong" thing yet, because it's directly contradictory to both parts of that internal tension he's lived with and breathing through that has to be like when in dance class they make you press the backs of your hands into the doorframe so that your arms float and you're like "what is happening this is badwrong" even though you're just using different muscles.

ANYWAY

Yeah, no, I think it's incredibly important for Buck to be the one to break up with her because he comes to the conclusion that this relationship as it stands isn't enough for him. And then I want him to think about what sort of relationship would be enough for him.

Hiiii!!! I was wondering what do YOU think will happen with bughead in 5b? I personally had a lot of hopes but right now it Doesn’t seem to me like there’s anything in the horizon for them unfortunately. But I would love to hear your take on it♥️♥️♥️

despite the fact that this sounds totally concern trolly, imma answer it anyway.

why?

because i am exhausted from the idea that some of y'all literally act like every single episode and conflict is the only conflict that's happening on the show. it's tiring. i am tired.

bughead talks in 5x09? so they must make up in 5x10 in some of your minds. how do you guys finish books and movies much less trilogies and other tv shows? how? how many times are some of you going to listen to screeners who are biased/not giving context and watch them be wrong before some people catch on that they don't know everything and their interpretation misses a lot?

alex: jughead is a dirtbag ladies man.

canon: jughead gets dumped by his gf and then drinks his sorrows away before getting rolled by a coed with an agenda.

and yet, some people still persist.

bughead literally just started talking in 5x09. we don't know their history over the last 7 years. we don't know what the voicemail says. maybe i'm wrong but i read that spoilery ass review and maybe betty is "reluctant" for a reason? maybe all the clues they've dropped over 5a (voicemail, "don't be a betty", them not talking at all) has a point to it? maybe betty thinks he doesn't want her up in his business?

like, for fucks sake, some people get one piece of the puzzle and declare it finished when it's halfway solved.

so, what do i think is going to happen over 5b for bughead? i think we're going to finally get their history. no, they won't figure it out (and the show isn't going to tell us all of it) right away and they're going to give us bits and pieces (probably get more with varchie and choni too tbh) over the last half of the season. this show is basically giving us s1 parallels to the point that you'd have to actively ignore it to not see it. i think they're going to work together. i think they're going to have some tension (maybe a kiss? maybe something?). i think it's going to be left hanging to go into the musical and they're going to have a moment there. i think we're going to get at least a kiss or two.

that's what i think/hope for bughead in 5b. and maybe that the fandom should consider watching the rest of the season and wait for the show to tell the whole story before having meltdowns every other day.

TWD 11x05: Out of the Ashes - Details

Okay, let's talk details of 11x05.

***As always, spoilers abound below for 11x05. Don’t read until you’ve watched!***

We start with Aaron's dream. First of all, there's the full moon. Remember that Still had a full moon at the beginning, and every time we saw Beta on the outside, such as singing or walking with walkers, it often showed a full moon. In Beta's case, it's probably because his nickname as a singer was Half Moon, but he also had a lot of Beth symbolism around him. I think it’s likely that the reason they gave the name Half Moon was to indicate Beth symbolism.

Then, Aaron says to Gracie, "we’re almost home." Part of the home theme, and also kind of showed me that this was a dream. There's absolutely no reason why Aaron would randomly be outside the walls with Gracie at night. I don't have a whole lot more to add to the scene than what I said yesterday. I do believe it's a foreshadow of something happening with Gracie, but it also may be a foreshadow of other things that are coming, including stuff with Beth.

This is kind of a funny detail, but I have to say that I love the Jerry bit at the beginning. We see him tiptoeing over people, trying not to wake them on his way to the bathroom. So, we have an entire sequence that can be summed up as, "Jerry pees.” ;D

The next thing we saw was the Commonwealth video. The really cheesy one with Lance Hornsby that we saw in the trailer. Some of the symbols we saw in that video were interesting. Such as a bunny cake (rabbit theme), someone playing a guitar (Beth played a guitar in 5x09),

ice cream (both Eugene and Stephanie talked about ice cream and it became sort of a Bethyl theme, especially because there were so much Bethyl symbolism around them during those conversations; also, Daryl had his “I never” about frozen yogurt in Still). We see a plaque that says, "The Great War,” (probably a reference to World War I, but also part of the Revolution/War theme).

There was also a blond, Beth-lookalike nurse in blue scrubs. 👀

I also noticed that the Commonwealth badge looks a lot like the UK flag. Not so much in its shape or design, but rather the colors. It's got the same red and blue shades as the United Kingdom flag. Remember that we saw the UK flag around Juliet Ormonde's character in the world beyond. So, we think it's a symbol of the war to come with the CRM.

When Yumiko goes into the bakery looking for her brother, there's a song playing called “Three Speed Girl.” It was just the three that caught my attention. (Look up lyrics). They all a lot of apples in the bakery. Not real apples but glass, decorative ones. Not only Apple theory, but specifically what apples represent.

I've theorized before that the apples could represent separation between loved ones. For example, in 6x14, we see Michonne and Rick wake up together in the room and they both eat an apple. I came to believe that was a foreshadow of Rick leaving in S9 and two of them being separated. @frangipanilove, however, explained it differently. She says that rather than them being separated, she thinks apples represent them coming back together. As then, a reunion after the separation.

I know that sounds like the opposite of what I explained, but really all amounts to the same thing. The kind of separation that I mentioned is what we see with Rick and Michonne being separated, Beth and Daryl being separated, perhaps even Carol and Zeke being separated (if he does, in fact, get a death fake out). And that's always going to result in a reunion down the road. So if we explain as a separation, it will always lead to a reunion. And if we explain as a reunion, it in order for reunion to take place, there must've been a separation first. See what I mean? You can explain it either way.

So, the apples make total sense in the scene. Yumiko has been separated from her brother for a long time. She said it's been years because the two of them were somewhat estranged, even before the apocalypse happened. And now, in this episode, we see a reunion. So, I think were spot on about the Apple symbolism.

As for Beth, we didn't actually see her eat an apple. I think that would've been too on-the-nose. But, given the Snow White symbolism, or template of her arm falling, remember that Snow White ate an apple, which was poisonous, just before we fell she fell and we saw her arm. So, if TWD is using the apple to represent separation, we didn't actually see Beth eat one, but her arm falling like that represents the Snow White template, and right after that, we see her separation from Daryl and the rest of TF. I think it lines up rather well.

When Eugene and Stephonie are walking around, we see a white horse drawing a mail truck. It's a combination of several very potent symbols. We talked about white horses before and how they represent Beth, and life. Then there's the mail or Communication theme. We've seen so many mailboxes on the show, and this was a horse drawing a mail truck. I’ll talk more about the mailbox theme in a few days. Just keep this in mind for now. They're very purposeful symbols and they do represent specific things in the show.

I also noticed that Stephonie is wearing red rimmed glasses. Remember how last week I talked about how Norman was wearing some funky glasses on TTD? Sorry to keep teasing but this is another thing I’ll post about later in the week. I was going to anyway, so seeing the glasses here jumped out at me. For now, just notice that Stephonie is wearing these and they’re red.

When Stephonie decides to help them talk on the radio, they go into the train station. Of course, there are no actual trains running, but the train is a very potent symbol. It's actually being used more as a civic building, and the group tries to be innocuous, though it's obvious they're up to something. Stephonie and Eugene walked calmly through the building while Princess and Zeke take up positions down in the common lobby area. Meanwhile, Mercer is watching them.

Princess tries to head him off and we have a humorous moment where she tries to flirt with him, and tells him he has beautiful eyelashes. It is not exactly the same thing as the eye theme, but I could almost see them going for the eye theme, but twisting it for the sake of humor, because, well, it's Princess. So, she goes with beautiful eyelashes.

Eugene does manage to get on the radio with Rosita, who tells him the Whisper War is over. They only talk for a moment or two before they lose the feed. Once again, I think that was very purposeful on Commonwealth's part. I think they allowed him to connect with Rosita, but only for a short time before interrupting the feed and bursting into arrest him.

Meanwhile, back in Alexandria, I noticed that Judith asks, "Is he gone?" I sat and thought about this line for a little bit. Obviously, it's the “gone” theme. Usually, the way TWD always uses someone being "gone" to mean that they have disappeared for short time but will return. Very often they are presumed dead. That's why Daryl's, "she's just gone" about Beth is so important. Also, her line to him, "you're going to miss me so bad when I'm gone."

In this case, I don't think either Judith or Rosita suspect that Eugene is actually dead. She just means did they lose him on the radio feed. And here's something that occurred to me what was thinking about this. It's actually very common when someone loses communication with someone else via radio or walkie-talkie to use the phrase, "get them back." So, something like, "see if you can get them back," or, "I'll get them back." In that context, it just means to raise them on the radio again and reestablish a connection so they can communicate.

The reason this is interesting is that Daryl has said this more than once about Beth or people who were kidnapped. In 5x06 when he was with Carol, he was talking about Beth and said they would observe Grady and then do whatever they needed to do to get her back. I know they also said something similar about Sasha when she was taken by the saviors, and Sasha had massive parallels to Beth during her death arc. So, that had never occurred to me before, but it's almost like they specifically took that line about “getting them back” from radio lingo and are applying it to Beth.

When talking about whether to go to Hilltop, Aaron mentioned that he didn't want to abandon ship. So, a water/ship reference, but it's also close to something Abraham said in 5x05 about going down with the ship.

When they get out Hilltop, I noticed that we have a shot of the water tower, which is now burnt. When they start questioning Keith, he says that Alpha is dead, and someone says that all that does is prove that “he has eyes.” Earlier in Alexandria, Aaron said, “Eyes open.” I know these are really small potatoes references, but there were a LOT of eye mentions in this episode.

A couple of things where Negan and Maggie are concerned. When they get to this house, the cars out front are really interesting. There's a red car out front, which reminded me a lot of the red car that was seen during the filming of the missing 17 days in season five. There are also just a lot of cars with doors or hatchbacks open, which represent the door being opened in 5x09, when Beth disappeared. The hatchback being open can represent the trunk being open. So, just kind of some interesting symbols.

I also thought it was cool that Judith is teaching other kids how to fight.

Hey barchies so I know that we are all down bad today but I’ve been theorizing and wondering so I wanted to get your opinions on this too. I am thinking that V*rchie will be bones by the end of next episode. I know that sounds like a stretch but I really do believe it. Think about it. In 5x10 we are getting barchie alone again. I can’t see any explanation as to why V*rchie would still be together while Betty and Archie are alone together.

To further explain why I think this is because I am seeing next episode going like this. Archie and Veronica are gonna have their moments here and there next ep. But then I think that they are gonna realize that it’s not the same as it was in high school and that they are different people. I also think that Archie is gonna realize that the reason he was having “feelings” for Veronica was because he was scared of his true feelings for Betty. He was scared and things were changing with Betty fast so he wanted to go back to something familiar, his relationship with Veronica. So, I believe that by the end of 5x09, Veronica and Archie are going to, once and for all, realize that they are better as friends and always were.

Then in 5x10, (I don’t have any information on the plot so I am guessing a little bit) Betty and Archie are gonna work together to either help find Polly or something to do with the TBK. Archie’s gonna tell Betty that Veronica and him aren’t together anymore and I feel like there will be some tension. He isn’t gonna tell her why either. The tension is gonna build up to a climax and then at some point in the ep, Archie is gonna realize that he does, in fact, want to be with Betty. At the end of the ep, Archie is gonna go and try to confess to Betty that he has feelings for her and wants to be with her. Something is gonna stop them from being together. I have a few ideas as to what that could be:

1. Betty doesn’t trust Archie’s feelings for her and thinks he might not be 100% sure that he wants her and no one else.

2. Betty tries to tell him again that she doesn’t want to let her darkness overtake him and wants to protect him.

3. Betty says that they shouldn’t be together, right now, because she needs him more as a friend.

4. Before Archie has the chance to confess his feelings, he sees Betty with someone else. Either Glen, Jughead, or another guy.

Anyways barchies, I know it’s been rough and we are all kind of broken but remember what happens in 5x10 and the pic Evan posted saying not to lose hope. Also let me know your theories and what you thought about mine in the comments. Stay strong and don’t lose hope!

something else i thought of while thinking up that last post & which i feel deserves its own post Is This:

was reflecting on how, in 5x05, we get that moment of winston arguing “the math works the same no matter the names we own, and That…is where you will always need me :]” only to go “:l :[” again as taylor responds “’need,’ again, that overstates it” (although the context they are invoking is, by their own assertion, that they will not literally die if they don’t employ winston)

and we’re always kind of both like “lol” and :( about the fact that Winston Will Put Up With Anything and has always seemed to be happy Enough to keep working for taylor, even if he’s not making as much money as he could, even if he’s having a shit time for other reasons, so long as taylor themself simply does not choose to fire him; and the last out & out positive & bonus reward he’s seemed to get has been the “good work :)” he got from taylor back in 3x11. there are maybe other bonus Implicit Benefits, like of course that they did apparently hire him & as their presumed Main Quant in s4, & that’s probably a pretty good deal for his first real official job position here, even if he’s not making as much money as he possibly could in the industry (or another industry) by working for this small new besieged fund; & taylor does listen to him & at least treats him neutrally rather than with continuous or at least continual disdain, which evidently he doesn’t get much; & now there’s also the fringe bennie of “rian works here too & he’s crushing on her,” but speaking of Bonuses, kinda unclear whether he’s gotten one ever yet, despite going into what we can presume is around his third year of working for taylor, since a season tends to span approximately a year in universe….he mentions “this completely messes up our bonuses” in 5x09 there, after having deferred his bonus last year to This year, & then who knows what happens, as focus on comp was kinda sidelined this time around afaik….and although they sure will provide some direct if restrained validation for, say, points he makes / things he says, “good work :)” in 3x11 is the only direct praise he gets from taylor, with “he gets results” i guess also being praise, but it’s certainly tempered, and all the more tempered by the fact that they’re discussing firing him in front of him, and, again, when he makes the “that is where you will always need me” point, they kinda shoot that down, and he’s evidently unhappy for it

so anyways, kind of had me thinking how maybe he’s Not really just coasting on “good work :)” the whole time b/c, although he evidently enjoyed that praise & appreciates the further validation they offer him sometimes / is less than thrilled when he doesn’t get it (e.g. how he’s upset when he feels like he’s not being respected / treated as valuable by their bonuses not being prioritized & being pressured to choose to defer, but he also won’t quit even if he’s steamrolled about it; & “i’ve Been aboard >:[ the whole damn time!” yet then still simply rolling with it & getting right back to work) he, as i realize i’ve just laid out in the parenthetical, basically seems to find all this acceptable & can just return to his work / his sense of his own normal, it seems

so i was kind of thinking that it could be that, yeah, the fact taylor implicitly validates him enough to listen to him & thinks it’s worthwhile to put effort into understanding what he even means & then will actually consider it Is Important b/c if he & taylor didn’t bring enough mutual respect & consideration in 3x09 to both actively try (& succeed) to have an actually constructive exchange, winston couldn’t’ve ended up working for them, but maybe what winston’s Consciously Seeking, as consciously cited by him there in 5x05, is simply to think that he is Needed here, so that maybe [he’ll stick around so long as taylor doesn’t fire him] really is his motivation here; he thinks that taylor will keep him on if they need him (not Literally need him like they’ll Literally die w/o him) and, although he evidently Likes & presumably wants praise & validation & appreciation & getting paid a bonus & such, even if he doesn’t get those things &/or has some extra shitty stuff happen to him, he’s apparently still as fine as ever to stick around, simply b/c Taylor Has Not Yet Fired Him

and anyways given that some of the few personal glimpses we’ve gotten re: winston were there in 3x09 with “he goes to math meetup for stimulation” and “he hates himself,” feels like those two things can combine like, of course he’d love to get More & responds positively when he does & negatively when he expects it but doesn’t &/or gets the opposite, but maybe all he’s really shooting for here isn’t even “i’m good at math/coding stuff which has this Objective, Quantitative Value to other people, so by extension they’ll value me” but rather that they simply feel they Need winston because of it, conscious valuing of him as a person b/c of his talent or not. which is sure a downgrade from “winston is here b/c he wants those basic scraps of validation & can get a hell of a lot of mileage out of them” but i think it’s appropriate & entirely possible b/c nothing has ever told us that winston Consciously thinks he’s worth more / can even get more, while we do know that he has real confidence in his worth/talent as a quant, but maybe nothing else abt himself. and of course, as with any other characters, i think this idea that [winston thinks he can be Necessary b/c of his quanting talent & that’s all he’s hoping for here, i.e. he might be okay being accepted as necessary even if he thought it was completely begrudging] allows for winston to like, deeper down & less consciously acknowledged by himself, of course Truly want & need more to be happy than that, but people aren’t here b/c they’re happy & Know what they need / what’s good for them, and i think we can just presume that even if winston could consciously think about himself & decide he sucks, of course there’s part of him that loves himself, so that he’s still disappointed / put out / upset / irritated / hurt by ways he’s treated, wherever it falls on the range of like, people just aren’t picking up what he’s putting down vs are deliberately trying to insult and intimidate him.

and yeah the conclusion is :[ at the idea that winston could well just be out here like “haha fuck yes this is all that i want & hope for” at even just the idea that nobody wants him around or thinks particularly well of him but even simply Have to keep him around b/c he’s so useful as a quant :( normal healthy perspective on himself & his life, but again, entirely plausible b/c not like we otherwise would think he’s happy & thriving & feels great about himself now, and it’s only kind of a half step down from “the best thing that’s happened to him was the ‘good work :)’ from taylor in 3x11 & maybe he’s fine just indefinitely waiting for another instance of that,” so. he wants to work For Taylor, and sure could be the case that, yeah, he’s been operating on “i’ll work for them so long as they don’t choose to fire me” this whole time, and would’ve been even if he hadn’t gotten that Good Work :) moment, and will just sit down and continue working for them even after experiences like 4x11 or 5x05 when you really might suppose he could take it upon himself to quit anyways. and i guess that’s the energy he’s bringing when like, rian goes “no you dumbass. also: you’re incapable of being sexy, even if your quanting talent Theoretically is” & yet winston is relatively uncrushed by this / evidently continues to crush……and this whole component of things sure makes material re: his having a crush extra interesting for his character, b/c a) while they’re maybe connecting over math shit / at all positively respond to each other’s talent in this regard, that’s obviously not everything that could make the relationship happen, or it already would’ve happened and b) he Is hoping to be more outright positive regarded by this person than [well i accept having him around b/c of his worth as a coworker], like, sure is interesting that that’s kind of how rian argues it in 5x05, but we can readily infer that the real reason she makes any kind of argument in his favor at all is in fact due to that more outright positive response to him as a person who has this unusual but maybe more engaging for it Personality and who both tips his hand that he Likes her a nonzero amount already and is someone rian automatically Gets enough that she can see that hand and accurately understand what he’s thinking & feeling here; i.e. not only is she not like “wow, insulting,” but that he even hypothetically intends to insult her is maybe not what she considers most important here, rather that she realizes a reason he’s riled up is that he probably already Regards Her In A Way, that way being [idk his insults being that she’s quirky & looks like a movie star are not very insulting]. and the point here is that he Likes her, & he wants her to Like him back, so that’s a situation wherein he Has to consciously hope for more for himself than anything that’s just begrudging or Just about his particular ability to bring value through quanting. and, as always!!!! speaking of what people are prioritizing around here, it’s further Very Interesting that there in 5x07 we see that he puts Complimenting Rian over his own pride in his quanting talent, aka not only dropping last episode’s jealousy but Rescinding it by saying “i was Already impressed,” and we also see his apparent efforts to Be Winsome in his just like, being totally willing to talk to rian totally on her terms, not taking the possible bait of her digging at him a bit, not Pressing but also not denying his interest in her, and just clearly being friendly and very interested in everything she has to say, too……it sure is Some Material

I truly do not understand how people can say Betty doesn’t care about Jughead, or that she hasn’t thought about him at all throughout this season.

First, after her and Archie have sex for the first time, she brings up Jughead. Even though they’ve been broken up for seven years. Why randomly bring up your ex, after having sex with someone else? You don’t do that, unless you’ve been thinking about them. Then, in I believe the next episode, she goes to Archie’s house asking for Jughead. When Archie states he’s at work, she sounded, and looked, disappointed. Why would she be disappointed that he wasn’t home? If she and Archie had a thing going on, surely she would’ve been relieved to know he wasn’t at the house. Unless she was there looking for him to, maybe, talk to him about Polly? So far, it seems like Jughead has been on her mind quite a bit.

Now, you may be wondering: then why is she going to Archie for sex, if she still thinks about Jughead? You need to listen to what is being said between the characters. Jughead sent Betty a voicemail that was so bad that she thought Jughead never wanted to talk to her again. Plus, I’m pretty sure they were not in the same state during any of what happened. Betty has been going through a lot of trauma. She was kidnapped by the TBK, so I really don’t think she was in the right mindset during that time to hit up her ex that she thinks hates her anyways. When she and Archie meet up again, yeah they did have sex. But she did it so she could distract herself from all the trauma that was going on in her life. From being kidnapped, to her sister missing, she probably wanted to go back to a more innocent time and have a little fun. As I said, she thought Jughead hated her, so she went to Archie. Her childhood friend. All she wanted was a distraction from her trauma. But as things escalated with Polly, she knew she had to end that friends with benefits thing, since then was the time to end the distractions and get more serious.

In 5x09, Betty found out that the body they discovered had Pollys blood type. It was a rare blood type, so probably more easier to confirm, or believe, it was actually Polly. She went to Pop’s to pick up something’s for her mother. Her and Jughead had a very deep conversation. She never hesitated to tell Jughead that her sister was dead. Even though they weren’t on the best terms during that time, she still trusted him, and cared about him, to tell him something so personal to her. I think that’s proof itself that she still cares very deeply for Jughead. Would you tell your ex, who you thought hated you, something so deep and personal like your sister died? I’m not sure. I don’t think I would. The smile she gave him, when he offered to leave work early to help her. That wasn’t just a normal smile. There is so much comfort and happiness, in that smile, and in her eyes. It was such a soft moment, very comforting. Seeing how they went back to their normal investigative duo selves is such a great thing to see. They truly work so well together, and are very comfortable with each other.

One of my last points is the jacket. Why would Betty keep her exes jacket? The jacket that they shared their first kiss in. The jacket Jughead wore very frequently. As the screenshot says, she wears it for courage and comfort. She wears a piece of Jughead, when she wants comfort. How can you sit there and tell me Betty doesn’t still care about Jughead, when she still keeps his clothing? You may think it’s just a coincidence, but that is actually Jughead’s jacket, not just some random one. Also knowing that the shirt Jughead let Betty wear throughout the seasons still has deep meaning to him shows that they both still have deep feelings for each other.

Look at these photos. Her smiles, the way she’s looking at him. She still cares so deeply for Jughead. And once she finds out he’s missing in 5x11, and once she discovers his novel, we’re gonna see how Betty truly feels. In 5A, we’ve seen how Jughead feels, and how what his feelings are. Now it’ll be Betty’s turn, as the road to their reunion continues.

As I keep saying, get ready Buggies! 5B will be very good for us!

So since this week end has been heavy in the 911 front, I want to talk all about good things. Do you think b/t break up in 5x09 or 5x10? I think 5x10 means Christmas and Christmas means almost new year and I think there would be no better way to start the new year without a big redhead dead weight right? Heavy is one way to put it,but you're right let's focus on good things! I mean I already said all I had to say anyways so I am much happier to focus on fictional characters and their lives.As for BT breakup-I always said that I do not see them breaking up before 5x10.Writers want to keep up the pretense of them possibly working out as couple for as long as possible for drama and to keep us guessing and discussing.And I think by now you have to be deeply in denial if you think BT have a chance of staying together as that relationship already crumbled before our eyes.So I do hope they will let us go on hiatus with Buck newly single and maybe even spending Christmas with his Diaz boys. Because honestly there are two things I desperately need to happen in 5x10-Maddie coming back and her and Chim in the episode bc 911 dynamics as a show are off without them.And let's be honest until they come back writers will keep trying to fill their screen time with useless storylines and unnecessary reporters. And what I want the most is Buck coming home-to Eddie's house. Give me just this one moment,that's all I need.Also hopefully a new beginning for New Year too for all of them. Because what they did so far was pretty much to wreck the found family trope we got so used to and I need that back as well. But I def have hope that it's exactly what writers are doing-they need to break something in order to rebuild the firefam as even a stronger unit.

Phew, what an episode it was! How are you feeling after watching this masterpiece?

Btw, I'm not sure if I'm right, but I heard that 5x10 of Riverdale was written by Chrissy Maroon, the same person who wrote 4x13 that is like the best Varchie episode in season 4. Is that true? Because if it is, am I too bold to assume that somewhere around 5x08 - 5x10 we might get a Varchie arc? I'm all for it of course but only if that means ba is already done once and for all.

Anyway hope you're healthy and happy, and thank you for always cheering us all up and staying positive about our endgame couples!

yes, miss chrissy told me herself (lol i’m not even lying) that she wrote 5x10 when i came gushing about varchie in the graduation epi. like i said, i don’t know a lot about how varchie will be involved but from the behind the scenes stuff, 5x08-5x09 at least have some scenes with them. a little part of me still wants b/rchie to at least emotionally cheat on each other (with jug and veronica) for a bit just out of pettiness LOL but we’ll see what happens. hoping that cami and kj can come through with more bts for us!

Legends of Tomorrow 5x09

Do these writers know. DO THEY REALIZE THEY HAVE THE MOST AMAZING SET UP IN THEIR ENTIRE RUN FOR AN OTP WITH CONSTANTINE AND ZARI? DO THEY? They probably don’t, given that they’ve historically have one and a half hits amidst all their misses, but. Gosh. I can be the only one that sees it right?? They have to know what they’re doing, on some level? Making them KISS, like THAT, while acting the hell out of one of the most famous romances in history? (Also, Constantine totally checked her out at the beginning of the episode, and she was more embarresed about him thinking she and Nate had something than she was about anyone else, just sayin’!) And THEN introducing the incredible angst minefield of Constantine being indirectly responsible for Behrad’s death*, and Zari holding him accountable and DEMANDING that they go on a quest to undo it?? THEY HAVE TO KNOW RIGHT?? All of that paired with the altered timeline, their past friendship, etc. Gosh. I’m already planning to write a long series that’ll include, among others, this ship. But if s5 doesn’t do this properly I’ll have to take matters into my own hands. I’ll have to. It can even be part of the series, even if it makes it longer than I should commit to, IDGAF XD

*yes, I know how given my other current show, this might get constructed as hypocritical on my part xDDD. I have good arguments about the differences, but most of all, I just don’t care LMAO

Part of the reason I think I’ve fallen for Constantine/Zari this hard is that Zari is more and more my number one fave each episode I watch and… Constantine is the one moving the plot, making things happen. It’s not a coincidence that the plots and villains of this last two seasons were impulsed by him. Those events in s4 were what caused Zari’s timeline to shift. And now those threads are coming together in a way that’s organic and fitting and EXCITING. And I want my fave girl at the center of the excitement, and close to the character that’s become the spark of the narrative.

Even without taking my NEW SHINY OTP into account, I’d actually love it if they deviated from Nate/Zari in this new timeline; I didn’t mind them in s4, but… it’d actually be interesting that the show said, well, they’re different people. Because they are, plain and simple. And a show about time travel and alterations should tackle that (I mean, I, for one, don’t really ship Constantine with Zari 1.0; if I rewatched s4 in my current state I might start to, but the !!!!!!!!! feelings started NOW, with this Zari, with this Zari’s personality). Besides, like Behrad accurately pointed out, Nate does love doomed love stories, and part of his fixation (on Amaya back then, on Zari 2.0 now), is about that.

I’m a MESS about Behrad, by the way. It was even worse because it got paired with Zari 1.0′s appearance, and her happiness at finding out he and their parents were alive, and asking Zari 2.0 to bring Behrad to visit her, him and Zari getting gr8 sibling moments (d’aw at him reassuring her that she’s his favourite Zari. And LOL at her “I knew this would lead to drugs”)… A MESS, I’m telling you. I TRULY hope it can be outdone and not Laurel 2.0 (yeah, still bitter about that), because I’ve come to like him a lot, and because I want Zari to have him in her life (and for Zari 1.0 to see him!! I will cry like a baby if it happens. It has to happen. I have too many expectations for this season, I’m afraid lol. I’m definitely going to have to add it to my re-write series). BTW: Sara/Zari feels alert to, when Sara was the last to stay with Zari after Behrad’s death *sniffs*

The Zari + Zari scenes were AMAZING, regardless. The hug! Zari 1.0 soothing Zari’s 2.0 insecurities! Joking about her ego! Also, we can all assume that Amaya is at that Totem town too, right? So we get to have our cake and eat it too, with Zari 2.0 and Constantine and Zari 1.0 and Amaya, yes? Yes.

Even amids all this I had mini Constantine/Sara feels too, LMAO, when Sara said, “John always finds away.” It’s not only a good shippy line for them (I also LOVE that she calls him John, btw. Love it), but an AMAZING line about Constantince, the character, related to the point about making things happen LOL (he even got to save his boyfriend in s4, which I don’t think it’s a coincidence, given how other “rules” are established and enforced/not enforced in the ‘verse. Though I did love that Desmond told Constantine to go fork himself lol).

I have lots of feels for Charlie and her relationship with her sisters, too (btw, I don’t remember now if Astra’s “friend” was confirmed to be one of them in the last episode or not, because I simply took it as a fact that she was xDD). When she turned into a little girl, my poor heart :(. And I loved how Sara’s words ~inspired her (the Charlie/Sara feels were strong too).

I’m judging THE HELL out of Sara for having Dean from Supernatural as her hall pass. Really, girl? xD. Smh. YOU CAN PICK FROM LITERALLY ALL PLACES AT ALL TIMES. Martin had Hedy freaking Lamarr! C'mon gurl. I spent the whole episode stressed out about the actors possibly having a cameo, thank the universe it didn’t happen LOL. Anyway. I just hope the whole “Sara mysteriously survives a Fate” brings something interesting to her storyline, for a change.

Seeing Mick’s daughter wearing Captain Cold’s costume for Halloween as a child was the only good part of that entire subplot. Ava and Mick together (I might like him better in s3 so far but his story in s5 is zzzzzzz)? It would’ve only been worse if Gary was there lmao. Also, the whole “the word clone is like a slur” joke got old real quick and I wish it stopped.

buck: love me anyway (5x09)

You know this was actually the first full episode this season that we got things from Buck’s point of view? to that point, I’ll amend my statement about Buck’s character development regressing: we haven’t been privy to his thoughts all season — we saw a piece of it in 5x05, when he announced his transfer, but even all the bt scenes in 5x07 were majoritively from Taylor’s point of view.

So it’s quite possible that his relationship with himself this season is exactly the same as it was in 4x14. we haven’t had a mention of Dr. Copeland all season because Buck isn’t healing right now, and obviously that’s not a good thing, but it isn’t out of character. I think we often forget, because of the spacing of the episodes, that these things are happening in conjunction with each other. Buck’s overwhelmed, which he’s allowed to be, and so his problems are all stacking up on each other. of course he’s going to take the easier way out and revert back into what he knows.

But, that being said, for what it’s worth, I think he’s a million miles away from where he was with Abby. “If you’re going to break up with me, just do it” versus hanging on to the last threads of Abby’s apartment and having Maddie, who was there for 1 day, be the one to tell him that it’s over.

I think it’s also important to note that Hen and Bobby were attempting to help piece his relationship together, whereas with Abby everyone was telling him to move on. Now, this might be Buck going against the grain, but it also feels like his understanding of what love is supposed to be is shifting. slightly. but it’s shifting. He’s making these ‘regressions’ consciously, at any rate. after the will scene, he has to be.

Anyway, onto the actual meta. in somewhat chronological order, I think it’s interesting that this is the 3rd time this season that Buck ‘messes up’, for lack of a phrase. In 5x05 ‘Home and Away’, Ravi has to bring the CO2; in 5x08, Eddie clocks the mirrored room number when Buck’s expression says he definitely should’ve; and now, in 5x09 Buck almost cuts into a car on an oil well.

Now this could just be attributed to Buck being ‘distracted’ but what’s noticeable about it is that Buck has no problem considering himself expendable — I’d argue that he still does — but we haven’t really seen his clumsiness putting other people’s lives in danger since the baby in the wall (I think). That’s what’s interesting to me; it’s never been a regression, really, but a deterioration of what’s already there. Being with Taylor, on top of Chim and Maddie leaving, on top of Eddie being ‘weird’, makes Buck worse not better. And that’s not sustainable.

So, moving on to Buck’s ‘love me anyway’. Buck, who was taught that people will only love him conditionally. Buck, who offers Taylor story pitches to get her to interact with him. Buck, who is Taylor’s boyfriend, but also one of her best sources. Buck, who thought Taylor was going to break up with him, chased her to Oklahoma, and then was rewarded with an ‘I love you”.

But the thing is, this time Buck knows. It’s written all over his face. He says “good” not because he was expecting it, but because that’s what always happens. Past is prologue. Buck was the one to say it, suggesting he knows a lot more than he’s letting on. He gets it, but he’s terrified of it. He gets that Taylor is bad for him, but he doesn’t know that Eddie’s a safer place to land right now. He’s being weird, remember?

So we land on 5x03. Buck saying “I have been Ana,” Buck believing that he always will be Ana...except, Eddie breaks the pattern. Because unlike Bobby, Eddie’s always been able to see right through Buck. He says “Yeah, who would do that?” but it also comes across as ‘You’re allowed to break up with her’ when everyone else is screaming at him to communicate with Taylor. It comes across as ‘You said you’ve been Ana, remember?’. Buck is Taylor’s Abby, and Eddie knows that, and a part of me thinks that maybe Buck knows that too.
