you and steve hate each other but you decide to help him when he gets sick
wc: 1k
.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。. .・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.
it was the sound of two consecutive sneezes followed by a cough that immediately caught your attention when you walked into family video.
“ew, you’re sick,” you said to steve as you adjusted your vest and fixed the nametag which said “robin” instead of your name because you were covering for her while she was out of town for a month.
“i’m fine.”
you simply looked at him. “oh yes, because sneezing and coughing are the signs of someone in perfect health.”
“it’s just really dusty in here,” he said, narrowing his eyes at you. “you probably should’ve cleaned better last night.”
you rolled your eyes at that and almost flipped him off but refrained from doing so last second. there was something about steve that always seemed to annoy you, and you knew that the feeling was fully mutual. it was way too easy to butt heads over nothing or start an argument over the littlest of things. hence why you were barely a minute into your six hour shift and the two of you were already ready to murder each other.
in a way it was funny, though— you two didn’t like each other but somehow you shared a common best friend. a best friend who would do anything to try and make you two become friends. however, through robin’s many failed attempts, it was settled that that was something that would never happen. in the end, she said that it was probably because you and him were way too similar to one another, which you wholeheartedly disagreed with, and that was why you couldn’t be friends.
“let’s just stay away from each other during our shifts, okay? i’d rather not get sick right before the fourth of july,” you told him.
“i’m fine,” he said again and then sniffled, which didn’t help prove his case. “but, i will happily stay far away from you.”
apparently, he wasn’t really fine because the next day he didn’t show up for work and it was just you for the entirety of the morning before keith showed up in the afternoon.
“where’s steve?”
“called in sick,” keith told you. “i almost didn’t believe him, but he actually sounded pretty bad on the phone.”
keith’s words didn’t surprise you at all, but for some reason for the rest of your shift you contemplated going over to steve’s house; bringing him a cup of the soup that was your mom’s recipe but you’d always end up making it for yourself when you were sick because of how much she worked, and also bringing him the cough syrup that seemed to always do the trick. and then you felt stupid for wanting to do anything that would help make him feel better because you didn’t even consider him a friend.
but still, when your shift ended you found yourself heading home to make the said soup and grab the cough syrup, and then proceed to go over to his house. your conflicting thoughts were fighting each other on the entire drive over.
“has this been poisoned?” steve asked when he opened his front door and you told him that you brought him soup since he was sick; hearing the words fall from your lips even surprised you, so his question actually somewhat made sense in your eyes.
but instead of acknowledging the fact that it was really insane that you were at his house right then, you sarcastically decided to say, “shit, i knew i forgot to add one ingredient!”
“ha ha,” he said with a straight face. “seriously, should i trust this?”
you rolled your eyes at him. “oh god, i’m already regretting coming here. just take the fucking soup, harrington.”
after another moment of contemplation, he took the tupperware of soup from your outstretched hand and then opened the door further to let you in. you followed him to the kitchen where he placed the tupperware on the counter.
“you didn’t have to bring me anything.”
you knew that, but there was still something in you that made you want to.
“i know, but i need you to get better fast so that i don’t have to spend another shift only with keith.”
he smirked at you. “so you missed me?”
you forced yourself not to consider his question for a second.
“‘missed’ is a very strong word,” you told him and then quickly changed the subject. “you look really bad right now, by the way.”
he was wearing a hoodie and basketball shorts, his hair was disheveled, and his nose was red from how much you assumed he’d been blowing it all day. it was probably the worst you’d ever seen him and you actually found yourself feeling bad for him, which was something that quickly confused you.
“glad to know your main reason for coming over here was to bully me.”
you smiled at him. “i can’t go a day without it.”
you then remembered something and started to pull it out of your bag. “oh, i brought some cough syrup too. you probably have already taken some, but just in case.”
“i actually haven’t taken anything,” he told you.
you furrowed your eyebrows. “so you’ve just been suffering all day?”
“is that not normal?”
the genuine curiosity in his question confused you for a moment before it all clicked into place. you silently wondered if he had ever been taken care of when he was sick. his parents were rarely ever around so you figured the answer was probably no. it reminded you of how often you’d also have to fend for yourself when you were sick since your mom was barely home. maybe robin was right— you and him were pretty similar.
“no, that’s not normal,” you shook your head at him before handing him the cough syrup. “please take this. you’ll feel better much quicker than if you just ‘let it pass,’ and i can’t believe this is something that i have to explain to you.”
he nodded and took the cough syrup before continuing to eat the soup, which he thanked you for and complimented you on how good it was.
the two of you eventually migrated to the couch in his living room, letting reruns of some random sitcom play out in front of you.
“y’know robin would be very proud of us right now,” steve said, breaking the prevailing silence. “actually being civil with each other.”
“yeah, she would,” you agreed. “but, we’re still not friends.”
“of course not,” he responded with a shake of his head. “the world would probably explode if we were.”
“exactly,” you agreed, letting out a small laugh. “and we cannot allow that to happen.”
but still, as the cough syrup kicked in and he fell asleep leaning on your shoulder, you couldn’t help but feel that something had changed.

beauty and the freak
ch.3
you were pissed! the moment you heard the news about your mom moving into the house right across the street from you. you knew she only did that to piss your father off.
it angered you to your core! who the hell does she think she is?! your dad tried to keep you from blowing a fuse, but it was too late.
by the time eddie arrived to pick you up, you went off, cursing, yelling, and screaming. Eddie’s just hummed along. he was use to you constantly going on about how much distain you have for your mother.
“eddie?! are you even listening to me?”
“im sorry sweetheart, but is it such a bad thing she lives right across the street? its not like you have to see her everyday. im sure she’ll be in her own little bubble just like before.”
you scoffed. “that’s not the point edward!”
eddie sighs. “what is the point baby?”
you didn’t know what to say. mostly because you didn’t know why you were so angry by this. but eddie was suppose to just understand.
“as my boyfriend you’d think you would give a fuck about how i feel.” you roll your eyes.
eddie sighs once more. he really didn’t have the energy to argue with you.
“edward!”
“hey! i understand you have this huge issue with your mom, i do! but you do not talk to me like that. do you understand?!”
you huffed and folded your arms while looking out the window right when eddie parks.
he grabs your face a little roughly. you looked into his eyes before he speaks. “do you understand?!”
“yes, sir.”
“now, may we please have somewhat of a decent day? i canceled dnd tonight to watch my girl cheer today.”
you had been begging him to come see you from the moment the two of you started dating. unfortunately he had a dnd game every friday as well. he refused to cancel it simply because, just like cheer is important to you, dungeons and dragons is important to him.
this week was a very convenient one for him to cancel. gareth was grounded, mike and dustins family was going to visit their friend will, and lucas joined said basketball team, so he figured he might as well cancel tonight’s events.
“really?!”
eddie smirks. “yeah!”
you squealed before hugging him tightly. “you’re gonna enjoy it, i promise.”
“doubt it. couldn’t care less about basketball. but i do like that short little skirt you have to wear.” eddie smirks.
you playfully roll your eyes as eddie gets out of his van and goes to open the door for you. the two of you walk hand and hand, all eyes on you. people still didn’t get the appeal of eddie munson, but you couldn’t give three fucks.
your relationship with eddie was amazing. he treated you like the queen you are. no one else’s opinions mattered.
a few of your friends actually loved eddie once they got to know him. he was funny and charming so they understood. others, not so much.
“yn?!”
your turned and saw your best friend, ariana. “what’s up?”
“did you hear about what happened last night? apparently jason cheated on chrissy again, but she caught him in the act.”
“it was about time. we kept telling her he’s no good.”
“yeah, but that’s not the worst part. she forgave him instantly! he kept apologizing to her all night and she made him promise he’d never do it again.”
“she can’t be that dumb?!”
eddie was already over this conversation. not giving a single fuck about jason fucking carver.
“im gonna go find the guys. see you later, baby.” eddie kisses you passionately before walking away.
“god! you’re so lucky. eddie is literally the perfect man.”
you honestly couldn’t argue with that. eddie was the perfect man! and if this closed minded, dumb fucked town actually got to know the metal head, they’d realize he was the sweetest man on the planet. you were so sick of them judging eddie simply because he liked listening to heavy metal and playing a fantasy game.
eddie made you the happiest. no boyfriend before him has ever treated you the way he did. eddie was the kind of boyfriend to buy you flowers every date, run to the store to buy you pads or tampons when needed, cuddle you whenever you just needed someone to hold, listen to anything and everything you had to say, gives you random forehead kisses, and so much more. he was perfect in your eyes.
not to mention, the only man who could put you in your place. eddie was a very dominant man when it came to the bedroom. it’s something you lacked in the past. most guys just want to get off! they couldn’t care less about your needs. eddie, eddie made sure you came at least once before he fucked you into oblivion.
“i know! god, ari! he’s so romantic! just last night he took me out to this fancy ass restaurant outside of hawkins. he bought me my favorite flowers and spoiled me with anything i wanted! i don’t understand how i got so lucky with him. it still baffles me.” you slowly shake your head as you looked over and spot eddie talking to his group of friends.
“please find me an eddie, girl!”
“his best friend gareth is single!”
“the one with the short hair? he’s cute!”
“mhm! he’s still very skeptical of me. but i can ask eddie to talk to him for you. im sure he’d finally give me the green light as well. so far ive only been able to win dustin over.” you sigh.
it was hard on your relationship with eddie. you wanted—no, needed his friends to like you! you weren’t going anywhere, you let eddie know that the moment you took interest in him. he knew that of course! but his friends would still put things into his head. calling you suspicious, saying girls like you don’t date guys like them, saying you’re using him, calling it a bet like you’re in so basic ass rom-com! it hurt. you love eddie with your whole heart. sure, the two of you were young, but you knew eddie was your person. you wanted to marry him someday and have as many little munsons ruling the world in the future! but winning the friends over was a must! and you’d do anything and everything to try and prove to them you’re not going anywhere.
“set it up! we can double date.”
“texting eddie now,” the first bell rung. you say goodbye to ari as eddie walks over to you and walks you to your first class of the day.

stop, myy oc's former classmates offering to set them up gave me an idea. so what if they had this super pushy classmate who just wont take no for an answer and pesters them about setting them up with someone they know every time they see each other at reunions. So so like what if the day before their reunion, gojo sets the myy oc's wallpaper to something that shows that myy oc is not single but in a super discreet way. Maybe a picture of myy oc at a cafe that gojo took and gojo's glasses or cup of coffee or anything that suggests the presence of a second person in the picture is shown and gojo makes that the myy oc's wallpaper
oh no T.T this is so cute anon. It's also the perfect mix of subtle and blunt haha, which suits him
Tumblr media
"I can't believe it's been ten years already," you murmured.
"From what?" Satoru asked.
He plucked the piece of paper you were looking at from your hands and peered at it.
"My junior high school reunion."
"Didn't you just have one of those?"
"It feels like it sometimes," you said softly, taking the paper back.
"You gonna go?"
You tapped your foot against the arm of the couch. "I don't see why not." You were planning to go. Some old friends from back then had already messaged, insisting they wanted to see how you were holding up. It was really just an excuse to drag you from the outskirts of Tokyo and into the city.
Even after all this time, they had some impression that you were some kind of ultra industrious hermit. You never told them about all your journeys around the country. You wouldn't know how to answer if they asked what you were doing there, what kind of work could let you travel that much...
"Go and show off your new wrinkles," Satoru nodded.
You just sighed up at him. Disappointed.
He pouted, sticking out his lower lip ridiculously.
"... I don't have wrinkles."
"Sure," he agreed, and then bounced off to whatever little project was keeping him occupied these days. Or to bother Megumi.
You rolled off the couch.
You rushed into the restaurant where the reunion was kicking off while trying not to look like you'd been rushing. The start of curse season this year had been as unpleasant as usual, and you'd just finished a last minute call.
You'd changed clothes in the car, lucky that the auxiliary knew you well enough to simply clear their throat and not ask any questions when they dropped you off at a train station.
Someone called your name in bright, cheerful tones that cut through the noise.
"Hirose-san," you said back, waving and making your way over to that part of the table.
"We were worried you weren't going to show up," Oda Konoka said immediately, leaning forward across the table.
"Sorry," you apologized. "Someone from work called..." you offered a easily interpreted truth.
"Work, work, work," Maeda Hikari all but slammed down a mug of something like it was a beer stein, making Konoka jump. "The last time we saw you it was work, this time it's work. All you do is work!"
"That's normal," Hirose Asami said placidly, smiling at you over her folded hands. "For most people."
You gave Hirose-san a slightly embarrassed smile back, dipping your head in thanks for her coming to your defense.
A waiter caught your searching eye and came over. Soon the table devolved into a flurry of words, menus flapping around as people started ordering around the part of the room at which you sat. Looked like you had been a bit late then, probably one of the last to arrive.
After a somewhat clumsy-feeling start, at least from your point of view, everyone in your little cluster of familiar and less familiar faces was more or less caught up, starting to chat with their neighbors or old friends, eating well.
And as it often seemed to at these kinds of things, conversation eventually turned to dating life. It was funny, listening to Hirose-san complain about something for once. Apparently the last person she dated told her she was too scary to stay with, which made Konoka start laughing ... and not stop.
"It's really not that funny," Hirose-san was saying, a slightly cross look on her face.
Hikari was failing to stifle a snicker, mostly at Konoka but also at Hirose-san. "It kind of is. Didn't someone you met at that expo you told us about also say something similar?"
"That's not fair," you protested, a light smile on your own lips. "That was years ago, and only because she was yelling at one of the interns--"
For some reason that set Konoka off again, clutching her stomach with one hand as tears sprang to her eyes.
Oh, right. She'd been there... oh well.
"I think you're lovely," you said earnestly. "It's really not your fault. I'd go out with you--"
"If," Hikari turned towards you suddenly, cutting you off. "I'm sensing an if. And my if sensor is never wrong."
"There's no--" you backpedaled immediately as Hikari honed in on you like a shark scenting blood in the water.
"I don't believe it. All the rest of us have met someone. Even permanently intimidating Hisa--"
"Please don't call me that."
Konoka laughed harder.
"-- single to the end-of-life Hisa--"
"Worse," she said mildly while Konoka leaned helplessly on her shoulder, tears at the corner of her eyes.
"--and I refuse to believe that someone like you hasn't even gotten a confession."
"I've gotten confessions before," Hirose-san protested.
"Yeah and you always turn them down," Hikari shot back. "My point is I have a perfectly nice little someone who could be just your type--"
"Oh here we go," Hirose-san said, but she no longer looked interested in saving you. A familiar glint was in her eye which said she was settling in to watch the show.
"I really don't need--"
"But you do," Hikari said. "You see maybe one of us every six months and you went to that tiny high school out in the sticks--"
"It was still in Tokyo."
"--barely, but how many people did you say were in your graduating class? Three? No. There's no way. That's what friends are for, meeting people, getting you out of the usual wandering blah of normal life."
"Have you taken a breath at all?" Hirose-san asked, amused and still unhelpful.
Hikari waved her off and lifted up a finger. "Flexible work schedule so you can't pretend not to have any time to meet up." A second finger. "Dresses well, smells nice. The people we meet are constantly asking about perfume and cologne, it's a ridiculous amount of people." Third finger. "Kiiiind of a weirdo," although this was said with a grin.
"Hikari," Konoka finally gasped, sitting up. "You can't just say that. And to someone's face!"
Hikari grinned at Konoka's mild outrage. "It's the only thing left at our age. So many people have already given up or decided they don't want to be paired off or--"
It was such a rookie mistake, taking your eyes off of a threat just because it came from a non-sorcerer. As your eyes turned towards Konoka's sudden movement, Hikari lunged, plucking your phone from the table.
"--and I have their number right here, and I bet you haven't changed your code since high school at least."
That was not true. You'd changed it three years ago because Satoru kept breaking into your phone and installing weird games on it.
Hikari fell silent, squinting at the screen.
Konoka leaned over to see what was the matter.
"What?" you finally asked. They were just starting at your lock screen.
Hirose-san craned her neck as well. "It looks like a very nice cafe," she offered. Laying out the bait for Hikari.
"What?" you asked again. The image last you checked had been one of you and Shoko, leaning over the rail of some stupid expensive hotel where you'd stayed as her guard when a minor emergency had required her presence.
Hikari leered.
"No one I know uses pictures of themselves, alone. Two cups of coffee. The chair opposite you is out of place, flowers on the table, two forks with the cake. There's a reflection in the window. You clearly didn't take this picture and from your reaction, you didn't put it on here either. Which means the change is recent and someone you trust enough to leave this lying around did it."
You," Hikari concluded, " have been lying to us." Dramatic, melodramatic. Satoru would love this old little crew of yours if you hadn't long ago made the decision to never let the two parts of your life mix.
You scrambled for an explanation. "That doesn't mean it's a date."
You knew exactly which cafe that picture would have been taken at. It would have been ten months after you'd married Satoru and it was very much a date. And the flowers had been an apology because a mission had forced him to stand you up at the nine month anniversary. The cake had been your apology for not being able to hold out and wait up for him.
Hikari's smile was downright evil. "I never said it was a date you were lying about."
Konoka turned a very scary look your way. "It's like Sherlock Holmes," came the slightly awed, slightly taunting whisper.
Satisfied, Hikari returned your phone. "Sooo. Name? Age? Blood type? Job? Favorite color? Where'd you meet? How long have you been hiding it from us?"
Stunned, you decided to look at the picture while you decided whether or not to lie.
You were sitting by the window at the cafe, leaning down to stiff at the flowers, the cake slice untouched in front of you, the box just visible on the ledge behind your thighs, the coffees still with steam curling from the cups. Golden light flooded in from outside.
"Oh," you said with some surprise. "That's actually a good picture."
Konoka burst back into giggles.

Oh, lord, don't even get me started on the whole Luca thing. It made literally no sense and they went against so many things they established in canon in earlier seasons.
The biggest part of SWAT's story was Luca/Street bromance. They literally lived together for better part of the show, had a really sweet brotherly dynamic, always there for each other no matter what. You know what we got from the hospital scene? Nothing. Not even so much of a word about where Street was, maybe an excuse why he couldn't make it which while it still would've been lazy writing, it would mean they at least considered the relationships and important people in Luca's life. Which they obviously didn't. Same goes for Chris. Like, we had newer people there waiting in the hospital, but not the likes of Mumford, Rocker, Stevens, other men Luca's been serving with for SO long! Also, no mention of his dad, mom, sister, brother. Nothing!!
I mean I have grievences with how he got shot too bc I feel like it was a cheap cop out for writing out his character in a way that would least anger the public while still somewhat making sense storywise. But, come on... He has been on SWAT for how long? And you're telling me he'd be reckless enough to risk his life going after three heavily armed suspects without backup, gear, anything WITH KELLY right there???
And then the whole thing post-hospital is also a huge question mark. The pacing was so weird, the dialogue felt off... Then his last call and some of the most important people in his career and life are once again missing (I mean, really, not even a cameo?!).
All in all, so many weird decisions and once again, so many better ways they could've gone about this if they had just considered the season as a whole rather than ep by ep. Because that's what this season feels like - bunch of standalone eps tied in together with a paper clip. A plastic one, at that.
I hope they get better writers for s8 or at the very least the ones that don't seem to hate the show and characters with burning passion bc this is 🥴🥴🥴 And much hate to whoever okayed promoting this season with Alex and Kenny being credited as "recurring" instead of what it really was "guest starring". For s8 celebration we should get them a dictionary and circle those words so that they can learn what they mean since they clearly don't.
~🧡
Um??... Woof. (But I love your explanations and reading your thoughts so much!)
Of all the things they could have done for Luca's send-off, they chose that half-baked, poorly written, hot mess of a story??? WHY? And we know Alex was on set for other episodes, so they seriously have no excuse for leaving Street out of his best friend's ending!!!
Did they think that the fans would just ignore the fact that Luca acted completely out of character in the situation leading to the shooting, and that all of his closest friends and comrades weren't there for him? I mean, I know they hate us and him (clearly), but apparently they also take us for fools. You're spot-on in saying that they didn't put any effort into writing his final episodes; in a season of exposition explanations, we didn't even get one for Luca!!
The pacing and the dialogue is what I've heard the most complaints about! "A bunch of standalone eps tied in together with a paper clip. A plastic one, at that" is the most perfect description!!! Even just reading the synopsis of each episode, I've been wondering if the episodes were coherent or connected in any way, like a television series should be, and it sounds like they're not. Since the season was shorter after the un-cancellation, I think they just threw a bunch of ideas into a hat and pulled one for each episode rather than trying to create an underlying thread that could run through all 13 episodes.
Okay, the situation isn't funny, but your last line made me laugh so hard!! One of my favorite things (for some reason) is come up with fake dialogue for the S.W.A.T. writers - what I think they say at the writing table, so I can whole-heartedly agree with your idea to get them and the marketing people a dictionary and explain the difference between "recurring" and "guest starring"! Like you said, getting new writers seems like the only hope for the show. If the show reads a bit different, that would honestly be fine, as long as the writers treated the characters like they deserve and create a show again, not a mod-podged pile of underdeveloped scenes that ignore everything previous seasons have established!
"Hey, guys, what if we take a beloved character, shoot him in front of Kelly because he ran in without thought, and then just rush through his recovery to send him off into the sunset?" In my mind, the S.W.A.T. writers sound like the pilots from the first scene in the Lego Batman Movie.

Hey guys. I'm back!
(Please, if you find any errors in the writing, I'm sorry, English is not my first language, I'm still learning and I'm definitely not going to go through Google Tanslate because GT is shit that I don't trust.)
So, we come to the end. I am so saaaaad. Well, my last post about Perfect Marriage Revenge got a lot of likes and reposts, so first off, thank you very much, I'm really surprised it was somewhat popular!
Then, as expected, some people asked me to do another post with more backstory and canon facts from the novel and webtoon.
So here I am. This will be long, be ready.
To differentiate from the previous one, in this post I will add the backstory, trivia and facts of all the main leads like some of the ones highlighted in some eps. Of course, i am also giving my very personal opinions.
!!!SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
1 - Yi Joo.
• She was adopted by Mr. Han FIRST WIFE. Yes, before marrying Jung Hye he had an official wife chosen by his family. Somehow this lady found out about Yi Joo and brought her home and this lady treats her well. Mrs. Han also knew about Mr. Han's affair with Jung Hye.
• Yi Joo for almost 15 years believed that Mrs. Han was the one who poisoned her with the macaron, but still grieved her death. The reason: she had memory loss! And in the “broken” glimpses she had she saw the “mother’s” figure appearing above that of Jung Hye who was in her house at that moment.
• She was a very lonely person throughout her life (+ in Yoo Ra's post), so her personality diverges from the drama. Novel|Webtoon she has a more serious, direct and insightful approach to people, she is kind and generous (much more confident!), but not as “naive” as in the drama. I can tell she is antisocial. She also didn't like being touched. Growing up, Yi Joo knew Jung Hye and Yoo Ra's true side very well and stayed away as much as possible (her marriage was a pass for that), she tried to at least stay close to her father, but he's an idiot, So, yes, no.
• Regarding her death, explaining the accident itself went like this: Yi Joo was hit by Do Guk's car, and Do Guk's car was hit by none other than Secretary Kim Jae Won's car right on the driver's side! YES! All of them at the same time, like, what the fuck!?
• EXTRA • I already explained a little about her relationship with Se Hyeok so just to be sure: Yi Joo wanted a family, a real family and Se Hyeok was chosen, obviously (he was her closest friend and now her husband) she I trusted and cared for him (apparently, him too), so it was perfect. But Yi Joo just wasn't ready to have any involvement like that (with anyone), she had a lot of trauma to deal with before starting any plan, she didn't have any feelings for him, never had, never expected but a couple hopes to have a child one day, so Yi Joo was taking her time, even with her mother-in-law being shitty. (+ in the Se Hyeok Family post.)
2 - Do Guk.
• In the novel | webtoon he is much more playful and funny. He is also good at seducing (Exclusive Yi Joo), even though he has “castrated” and “monk” as his nicknames. The women in his office are always trying to get his attention because he is super kind but still very difficult to approach. Do Guks is absolutely a pleaser for Yi Joo, he compliments and hype her up any time, anywhere, making Yi Joo very flustered.
• He is very traumatized by the accident with his brother Jung Wook, it was more detailed in the novel/webtoon; the two obviously had a fight, Jung Wook hurt his leg on the edge of the ship and fell but Do Guk also fell and almost died too! But his father, (that idiot) cared more about the boy who no longer had his mother instead of just taking care of both of them equally, so this only made Jung Wook more confident with his lame excuses and Do Guk more distant from his family , especially his father, since almost everyone thought he pushed Jung Wook, leaving him permanently disabled.
• Do Guk has a closer relationship with his sister than the drama lets on. She is always supporting him and giving him encouragement whenever he needs it. They're always joking or fighting with each other and at the same time they can have really deep conversations, like, super brother energy. After he marries Yi Joo, it seems they become even closer.
• I love how much he is like his mother in many ways: they are both very honest, understanding, never judge and fully embrace a person in need. He also has her smart and cunning side! He loves his family, that's clear, but he just can't stand the fact that no one believed in him and that's a thorn in his heart. Tru, in the middle of the novel, he starts to have more contact with his parents because of Yi Joo's family mess, they get closer and develop a better relationship after putting their cards on the table, especially because Jung Wook is with more and more reckless and Mr. Seo is "getting it" now.
• EXTRA • Many of you are curious to know how Do Guk met Yi Joo before the accident and was already in love at the time. Well, in the Novel, he was at a business party when he went out to the balcony to get some fresh air, and there was Yi Joo, in a beautiful white dress crying silently to herself. Yup, love at first sight. Very Do Guk thing.
3 - Yi Joo | Do Guk as a couple.
• Much of their relationship is portrayed very well in the drama. But I'm still sad because they took a lot out of the final script. They have many scenes, including some "steamy" ones that would make your screens shake!
• We absolutely know that they did the “deed” a lot. With Yi Joo initiating some of them on the novel. Speaking of intimacy, I understand that some of you were not satisfied with the reasons that led you to the first time, but personally, I like the meaning it has; Neither Yi Joo nor Do Guk knew how to fully express their feelings that time. It was too much for both of them. But one thing they knew is that Do Guk loves her and she is heartbroken and they wanted to make that clear, ease their feelings and comfort each other. In the Webtoon/Novel it is more romantic, more fluid and happened at the moment of realization and acceptance of Yi Joo's feelings for Do Guk.
• Do Guk and Yi Joo have great harmony, they embrace each other's desires, feelings and flaws so much that it makes every person around them "see" how much they love each other. This becomes clearer if you read the novel. Through their plans, they are very reassuring, supportive and loving at the same time as they carry many hesitations and fears for each other's lives, even more so after discovering that they both went back in time and she became pregnant.
• EXTRA • Do Guk proposes to Yi Joo again after they slept together and confess their feelings for each other some time later. He takes her to an amusement park, even though her fear increases a little. In the afternoon, when they are leaving, he stops her and confesses again and offers her a new ring and asks for her hand again. This represents their true beginning, now together. +EXTRA • THEY HAVE TWIN SONS AND A DAUGHTER. ♡♡♡
Tumblr media
4 – Jung Hye (stepmother)
• She's a bitch. She is greedy, nasty and a liar. To be honest, there isn't much to say about her. Do you see the drama? She's almost the same. Starting with the comparisons, in the Webtoon / Novel she is not as elegant, to say the opposite, she is much more theatrical, she has a very expressive face but easily loses her composure when her mask is being ripped off.
• On Webtoon | In the novel (drama too) Jung Hye makes her presence felt by being a calculating person, she is manipulative and is very good at leading people the way she wants. One of the differences in the drama is that Jung Hye always knew that Yi Joo was the biological daughter, but never thought that Yi Joo would find out, especially after years of torture and psychological abuse, repeatedly remembering the fact that she is a stranger and no one would never be by her side. Mr. Han's constant alienation to his daughter's situation was all Jung Hye needed.
• All her life she lied and stole from men for her own gains and destroyed their lives. I don't believe Jung Hye has that backstory, she's just sadistic and selfish. I also don't believe they will put Jung Hye's past cruelties on screen, and I believe, she has done some bad things. One of them is related to Secretary Kim, so be prepared for that. (+ at secretary Kim Post)
• EXTRA • I could feign some merit for her character if she had any, but she's the villain; that's what she was made for, being evil and cruel in particular, she herself has no reasonable "reason" for being that way. She might have had a difficult childhood, neglectful parents or abuse and things like that, but none of that "explains" the things she did to Yi Joo.
Tumblr media
5 - Yoo Ra
• So, this bish right here. How can i explain this pathetic spoiled nasty girl?! Yoo Ra is selfish and jealous, we know that many of it was lead after many years of her mother manupulation, (you can see on the last episodes) that's f*cked up and sad at the same time. She's being raised by the evil itself and this evil is her mother, the only person caring for her. It is hard to explain. Yoo Ra's personality was constructed to be best by any meaning, with the same finality, being better than Yi Joo and overtrow her.
• In the Webtoon | Novel she is way more cinic, her feigh innocence give me chills too. She's always wants to shine brighter, to have the best and take things that she thinks it belongs to her by any way, and this is a great reflection from her mother. She's always trying to make people pity her, thinking she's a angel (in special her dad) so people around are always focusing on the "most apparent" reason (she plays a lot with her words), her jealous and envious adoptive sister. She brings hell to Yi Joo. Oh, the way she plays the victim all the time, god, my nerves.
• In middle school, highschool and college too, Yoo Ra always carefully made people go against Yi Joo, making ger suffer a lot with bullying from Yoo Ra's friends. One in special is in the drama, the employee that gave food to Do Guk! That girl was a very close friend to Yoo Ra in high school, the girl didn't know but she was basically doing the dirty job for Yoo Ra: sending people to vandalize and destroy Yi Joo table and books, shoving and tripping her around the hallways, isolating, insulting and even putting threatning mensagens in Yi Joo's locker.
• Too bad for her that Yi Joo still met Soo Jin, Do Guks cousin that suffered bullying too (Yoo Ra didn't know that she belonged to the Seo family) because that helped a lot on the future when Soo Jin told her family about her being bullied because Yoo Ra was in the middle of it, so it's a important part in the novel.
• So about her ending, she deserved everything. Se Hyeok and his sister were nothing to her, just a pawn to hurt Yi Joo. But Yoo Ra was still carrying his child and Se Hyeok's family had to accept her because everybody knew the baby was his and if they didn't do it their "reputation" would be ruined. So basically Yi Joo life was now hers, but worse; she almost send her sister in law to jail, tarnished her mother in law image and broke Se Hyeok heart in the worst way possible add the fact the she basicaly ruined them financially. In the Webtoon | Novel, they had to sold the house and all luxury things to live. Yoo Ra was a mother at home, cleaning, cooking, washing and suffering with both mother and sister constant resentment and anger and Se Hyeok negligence.
• EXTRA • Her final scene is were she meet her mother at jail, she's says that she won't be visiting anymore and carry on with her life, she's sounds somewhat regretful and depressive for everything, but, at the same time, frustrated and angry with her situation and with her mother. But in the drama, GURL! Freezing shoulder, insults, bad atittude. DANG WOMAN! (*Insane clapping*)
Tumblr media
6 - Mr. Han.
• Ugly ass, hate him, like, go to hell. Like literally, couldn't he hold thay d*ck on his pants a little bit?! For this i'm gonna make it short. I could keep talkind about his severe neglicence with Yi Joo, angry bursts and really evil words towards but this would just stress me out. As i said, i hate him, f*ck him.
• He met Yi Joo's mother when he was really young, but little time later abandoned her not knowing she was pregnant to marry his first wife. He started his affair with Jung Hye little time later, who was pretending to he his wife's friend. He tried to reach out with Yi Joo's mother but only knew about the fire and the deaths so he left this memory behind. He wasn't a good son too, never even remembering he had a sick dad. Aparently this family blood makes men turn into idiots.
• I don't really know how easily he was manipulated by Jung Hye, but his end was just deserving by how shitty of a person he was most of his life. Jung Hye poisoned him with a lot of pills for years, making him sick all the time, one day he tries to go down the stair, but fall, having a fracture and losing his legs movements, biding him to a weelchair. As fragile as he was, Yi Joo still drops the bomb the she is his daughter, that Jung Hye knew and now she was taking the family business. He keeps in denial for a long time until he sees his wife true face.
• He ends up alone, passing his years constantly helping Yoo Ra with money, still pitting on her, and being treated as nothing because he has nothing to offer anymore.
• EXTRA • About his ending on the drama, and the talk with Yi Joo's mother, i still hate it, he deserved worse. He's even in "good terms" with Yi Joo too! He was pathetic and coward. It was a considerably neutral ending for him, i can live with that but won't ever accept it.
Tumblr media
7 - Seo Family
• Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it. (thank u icon Lady Gaga)
• Despite his dad being a bit stupid, this family is what i truly desire in in-laws. They're suportive, kind, empathetic and the best of the best. In the Novel | Webtoon, there all more playfull, Mrs. Cha is who i love the most, she recognize Yi Joo the first time they meet but hides it. Mr. Han takes more time but tru the novel he just becames kinder and kinder.
• Do-Na and Jae Ho are super cute, they have a lot of scenes together in the Novel | Webtoon. They're lovely, Jae Ho being Do Guks best friend and brother in-law is such a mood. I would absolutely love a spin-off about their story. We love a good spin-off.
• Soo-Jin got a man too! We love a great best friend having a happy end. Love this girl.
• EXTRA • They go crazy when Yi Joo gets pregnant. Shes makes a anouncement to the family and they flip off after seeing the ultrasound showing the twins. It is so worthing seeing on the webtoon.
Tumblr media
8 - Jae Wook
• He is way more evil. Egoist. Liar. Thief. Loves to do psycological terror on his family. Literally pretending to be disabled for almost two decades like, THE HELL?! For him i'm going to list his crimes.
• Theft. Embellzement. Murder. Atempt of murder. Many atempts to kill Do Guk + poisoned Yi Joo on a restorant while trying to corner her and puts her on a hospital bed. Paid someone to PUSH YI JOO OUT OF BOAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEA just to make Do Guk more traumatized because the poor guy jumped to save her. This is mind blowing. Both in the drama and Novel | Webtoon the bomb in the car is there and its TENSE!
• Look, this guy has absolutely abandoment issues but if he wanted to kill somebody, this person is his dad not his brother. Like, all his life he believed that was his dad that kicked his mother to the curb and separated her from him, so he planned and planned just to end up in jail, where his discover that his mother was the one who abandoned him by her own will to be with another man. THE CLOWN!
• EXTRA • His initial plan was to seduce Yi Joo. *trow up*.
Tumblr media
9 - Se Hyeok.
• Fake b*tch. LOSER! I already explained everything about him on the other post. I won't waste time with this idiot. He never truly apologized to Yi Joo, i don't think he regreted much of it too. He passed the rest of his life with Yoo Ra, between hate and love, and with his bloodsucker family.
• F*ck him. Their last scene on the drama was perfect.
•Byyye.
• EXTRA • The way he got back with Yoo Ra was WAS AMAZING! I adore that they kept the original (almost) scene of him presenting his future fiance & family (a very rich one by the way) to to Jae Sook and Se-Hee and BANG! Yoo Ra's at the door claiming that she's going to live with them (she's got nowhere else to go) because she was with his child. LIKE?! In the novel, the hell breaks and she almost get physical with his mother, sister and fiance! The end.
Tumblr media
10 - Se Hyeok's Family.
• His mother (Jae Sook) and sister (Se-Hee) were both greedy and mean people, always pressuring Yi Joo with money and luxury things. Yi Joo basically sustained the house were she was treated as maid but it was never enough for them (with Se Hyeok giving his back for the situation they were always bold).
• They made Yi Joo cook, clean and taking care both of the house and her own job without a moment of peace. Jae Sook was the worst one, she wanted a grandchild at any way just to have more rights about Yi Joo's heiritance, torturing poor Yi Joo about it and even making medical apointments to see why she wasn't still pregnant, not knowing that Yi Joo never even kissed Se Hyeok in her life.
• Se-Hee was the usual spoiled brat that never takes a "no" for a answer, ya'll see in the drama how bad she treats even her own brother. I think it was a great lesson for her almost going to jail about her posts on the internet about Yi Joo, she almost got crazy and i loved every second of it. In the Webtoon, she looks way more paranoic after discovering what time of person Yoo Ra was.
• EXTRA • KARMA GOT Y'ALL! XOXO!
Tumblr media
11 - Secretary Kim Jae Won
• In the novel, he was adopted by his dad and was very loved. Some time later Mr. Kim met Jung Hye, married and aparently had a happy life (i don't know if Yoo Ra was already on the page that time). Then gradually his dad got sick and sick, getting worse to find his end binded in a bed and, even as a small kid, Jae Won suspected of his "mother".  (I think she used some "pills" again?)
• His dad was a famous painter and had a great fortune so we can get why Jung Hye "popped out" since she was already on the market of falsifications.
• His dad died when he was pre-teens, Jung Hye got a way to have all the money and soon pushed him to the fartest orphanage. He held grudges all his life because he had this feeling that Jung Hye did all. Well, he came with a very brilliant revenge i dare say.
• EXTRA • He was way more charming on the Novel | Webtoon and had more personality (i don't know why they just made him almost a "blank paper", such a turn off). He was more active too in the plans.
Tumblr media
12 - Jamie / Yi Joo's bio mother
• So, this woman suffered, i surelly could describe her suffering but i think y'all saw the drama, but the Webtoon | Novel made me tearful, truly. Mr. Han was bullshit. Her dad was bullshit. The Jung Hye comes and there's more sociopath bullshit to put fire on her house with a baby inside. Like, this woman did everything to survive alone after Mr. Han left her to get married to a rich family and still had to get almost killed by one of his lovers.
• As you know she discovered it all, and of course, revenge. I pity her because when Yi Joo found out about her it wasn't that calm as in the drama, Yi Joo even denies her existence. I can understand Yi Joo side because tecnically her mom watched her being abused, it was a misuderstanding, but she felt abandoned again and wasn't open to receive this affection now.
• A thing that i missed was her encounter with Jung Hye and THAT SCENE OHMYGOD WHYDIDTHEYLEFTITOUT!!!. You all remember that Jung Hye needed the votes to be the president, right?! So she called to the unknow 5% shareholder to meet AND WHO'S THERE?! Yes, the mama. Jung Hye don't recognize at first but Jamie just spilled the tea to her and she's f*cked. OH Jung Hye face was ahhhh?!!! I love the Webtoon.
• EXTRA • The webtoon it's on the final chapters but Yi Joo and Jamie reconcilied and doing well, of course, WITHOUT MR. HAN on their lives because that's what he deserves!
Tumblr media
•••• SO MY FINAL THOUGHTS ARE...••••
I LOVE THE ENDING, THE FAMILY, THE BABY, GIRL, THE PAINTING, SE HYEOK AND YOO RA HATING EACH OTHER, JUNG HYE ON JAIL! That's everything i wanted, like, they left things that i loved out but still maintened the main plot and did really well. I would like to thank all the actors and actresses that put all their effort in this drama and made it perfect.
PERFECT MARRIAGE REVENGE  <3 <3 <3 <3.
Thank you all the came here. Have a great night. Byyyeee.

Diary of a Hopeless Romantic
Pt. 5 - How I almost fell for him...
This title actually is just a clickbait, but it’s gonna be so much fun to tell you about this.
So I have this friend being on an internship at the moment and she needs to do some questionnaires for that. I suggested that we could ask E to fill it out, but I was too shy to do so, so I was avoiding it for a couple of days until I found a perfect opportunity to do it.
We walked in his office and waited for him to finish his call. Right after that I wanted to sit down. Standing up while talking to someone feels so... stupid. It reminds me of moments when you are being told off by a teacher. So I wanted to sit down, right? But right before I was able to, he hurriedly tried to stop me. I saw my soul leave my body as I asked him why in a loud, confused and somewhat scared voice. Apparently that exact chair sometimes crashes down, so he just tried to protect me from falling. But it did scare the life out of me.
So that’s how I almost fell for that man, but he stopped me (out of worry).
It was a very funny situation and I think it made my day 100% more amusing. I kept thinking about the situation, it kept replaying in the cinema of my mind and it kept making me laugh. Even now I am smiling thinking back to that moment.
Maybe it was as amusing for him and maybe he keeps thinking about it too, but who knows. Sometimes I wish I could read people’s minds, just to have a bit of certainty, even though mind reading would also cause way too many problems. It also keeps the thrill out of those kinds of relationships.
Imagine I knew all along what his intentions were, or I knew before he asked what he wanted to ask. I could prepare myself then, huge plus, but my answers wouldn’t be authentic. I would change them in order for him to like me more, but would he like me or would he like the version I created for him then?
I am a person who changes based on the people I am with anyways, so I would be even more fake. But I feel like I am myself up till now, at least I don’t feel like I change up what I want to say that much. Which also means I tend to regret words a little (at least the moment I say them). Maybe I am actually being a little more transparent with him. Or at least I want to be, since I actually want to get close to him as V, not social worker V, but V- the person I am.
About the questionnaire, he was willing to do it and waited for us to give it to him. I joked around that he shouldn’t talk trash about me and he told me he never would. I was about to bribe him with coffee, but he gave in too quickly.
That actually made him even cuter in my eyes. I just love people who are open to participating in whatever kind of social research things. It’s a passion of mine and I know that I will be able to come back to him if I have to do those things for my studies. We will see when I read his questionnaire. Hopefully there is something in it that I can make fun of. I kinda did that a few days ago and... he’s fun to tease, but we will get back to that later.
Yes I started this part with a clickbait title and I am ending it with a cliffhanger (what a tease).

Today I'm gonna play: Final Fantasy XIII-2
This is my first post! I don't have a format on how I'm going to discuss games, so I'm just going to rant out whatever comes to mind I guess! I'm putting an apostrophe for terms exclusive to the game and will detail them at the end.
I've recently finished FF13, which...wasn't the most enjoyable FF I've played. Although its level design was linear, and the characters can be a little tropey, I had more issues with the lack of party customization that only gets unlocked later on in the game, and the general difficulty as well as its expensive economy, it had some very impressive art direction and music that still holds up to this day! I've jumped on to its sequel to see how it fares.
I'm currently on episode 4, and I've seen some nice improvements so far! The Paradigm Shift* system is a lot faster and responsive, and the game allows you to do Preemptive Strikes* which gives you an advantage with the Stagger Bar*, as well as grant Haste* temporarily which is a nice tactical advantage. Your additional party members now consist of up to 3 monsters you capture and equip, who each have their own paradigm class. Overall this makes the combat very fun and customizable!
The first game also constantly focused on combat. This time, I'm seeing puzzle segments, which are somewhat confusing, and some options to dress up monsters you catch. Not perfect systems, but it's nice to see some downtime. I do find the Mog Throw* funny though.
Levels this time are larger and non-linear, giving more replayability as well as a sense of exploration. This exploration is linked to the main story too, so it doesn't feel too much like a chore. I'd say it's somewhat of an improvement.
The graphics are still the same, but I'm enjoying one area in particular for its futuristic aesthetic, so it still has some nice artistic direction going on. I would say the character designs are a hit or miss compared to the first game. Serah's outfit in XIII-2 seems...odd despite looking more battle-ready. Her gloves and weapon are the only pluses, but it looks like they're more keen on showing more skin for some reason (with her having a swimsuit outfit too apparently). Noel on the other hand has a more appealing design! His head gives me Squall Leonhart vibes but with the hair grown a little.
I also like the characterization more than the first game. Noel is really smart and capable, and even shows a side of impatience so he's not perfect. Serah is also interesting as she journeys from being a girl that couldn't do anything to being a courageous heroine. The duo's dynamics are more pleasing to watch compared to where the first game had a larger cast that was constantly at odds with each other but awkwardly come together at some point.
The story is also easier to follow as there's not a lot of weird terminology anymore that doesn't explain itself. Even though it's about time travel, I haven't seen anything crazy yet.
One detail I really like is that it reminds you of previous events. Every time you get back into the game, it has a ''story so far'' segment that pops up before entering a world to catch you up to speed, and for those that have not played 13, there's a whole summary section available in the menu. This may be annoying for people who have been continuously playing the game (like me) and don't need to be reminded, but there are times where we drop a game because life happens, or another game catches our attention and we wander off to playing that. But having a reminder is a nice touch for a positive experience. Perhaps this feature could have a toggled off option in the settings.
One detail I dislike is the pacing of the extra dialogue that plays in the overworld. The first game paced this well, but this sequel seems to have longer dialogue that could potentially pressure you to stop and listen if you want to hear the extra details, otherwise interacting with anything else risks you from skipping them. Grand Theft Auto also has this issue, when you're driving during a story mission and you cannot hit the destination marker yet because the characters are still talking. The only solution I can see to amending this would be to allow the player to see/hear the next dialogue by pressing a button. NEO: The World Ends With You has (non-voiced) dialogue pop up in the overworld, which you can interact with to see the rest of it while still on the go.
Overall, I'm looking forward to what the rest of the game has in store! The music is as great, if not even better than the first! I have listened to some of the tracks long before getting on this game, but I've heard some new ones that are absolute bangers! 13 made me a fan of Masashi Hamauzu, but 13-2 is now making me a fan of Naoshi Mizuta too! I'm gonna put a link to my current favourite track.
Terms exclusive to the game: Paradigm shift - Strategic set of roles your characters can have which you can switch around during combat. Preemptive strike - Allows you to strike an enemy first to gain an advantage. Similar to Player Advantage/Ambush in the Persona/Shin Megami Tensei games. Stagger bar - A gauge the player fillswhen fighting (best by casting magic) which allows the enemy to be vulernable to more damage Haste - An effect (or spell) common in FF games that makes you act faster Mog Throw - An ability that allows you to throw Mog (Moogle, a creature in FF games) to inaccessible/far places and give you treasure in return

Anonymous asked: ⭐️ + Owen
Send me ⭐️ + a name, and I’ll write a drabble between that person and my muse!
Koko had been the one to alert the house. Panting, the urgency of his voice clear as day, his visit to the Hart family home turned into something far more troublesome than it was before. Hardly was anyone expecting the dire tone to come out of him at all. That afternoon a seemingly pleasant one, High Energy spending the day together as not just tag team partners but friends, the Birdman and the Rocket, the Hitman playing a tough battle of Go Fish against the British Bulldog. Davey nearly lost, too, the coffee table in the living room had become an amazing spectacle for those who wished to watch. Neidhart taking place as one such person, curious, loudly cheering for both sides of the cards to win, Bret and his eyes had tried with effort to only look out the windows a handful of times. From the sofa, scanning the scene of Owen and Koko playing like children in the backyard, not ready to put down his guard entirely in front of Davey Boy. He had a match to win. Was just about to, had picked the perfect card and was ready to land that final blow to the brother-in-law, that was when Koko came bursting through the back doors. Heaving like he ran a mile - Bret, you gotta come out here, man. Owen’s hurt - wheezing as he eyed the Hitman standing, rushing out the doors himself, forgetting his Go Fish fray. Dave crowned the apparent champion.
Laid out on the grass like he had been thoroughly run over, Owen was a pitiful sight as he groaned, cried out in pain. His face streaked in ache, arms shaking supports as they attempted to lift his body upward, off of his back. Blue eyes just a touch red in color, Bret took no time in kneeling beside him, somewhat foxed but certainly concerned. Searching for possible wounds - what happened, Oje? Scouring every inch of exposed skin, the length of Owen’s arms from underneath his tank top, the span of his legs that shorts couldn’t protect, even his combed golden hair and head, it was confessed that the ankle had taken a turn for the worse. A casualty to physically explaining a well-conceived prank to Koko, a story retold, a trip over his own two feet by Owen. Funny enough reason to have such an injury, true to character for the Rocket, still did Bret tend to him like he always did. Scooted closer to the damaged part, inspected the ankle with great care, held little brother’s foot in his own hands, gently cradled it. Pressed fingertips to the bones, observed the reactions, smiled a bit at how comfortable the Rocket was around him still, age just a number. Nothing had changed between them since they were kids.
Big brother always there to look after Owen, make him feel better, protect him from any and all harm, a twisted ankle would put the blonde out of action for the next few hours. Ground the Rocket for just awhile, a package of ice and good relaxation the treatment as prescribed by the Hitman, no more monkeying around with Koko. It was a hard pill to swallow. Really seemed to have depressed Owen, a frown overtaken his usually happy features, his grin, but was soon smoothed over by an affection so sweet, so kindly asked for by him. A small token that would steal away all the torment. A simple favor between friends and brothers, a kiss to the boo-boo. Aw, please, Hitman. It really, really hurts - pleaded for with teary expression. True emotion that looked both too real, too raw, too goofy and overly dramatic, Bret humored Owen. Gave into the silliness and bent himself downward, raised the ankle to his lips, pressed a couple of kisses to the skin for good measure. Massaged the foot and held onto it for a few seconds after, it was like they were children again. Elder coming to the aid of the littlest. Ready to scoop him up and take away all the dangers of the world, Owen embraced Bret with such conviction that it almost made the Hitman start to cry too. The Rocket sat up completely, arms looped around his older brother’s neck, nose buried into the flesh and breathed deeply. It was nice. It was real, despite how silly everything else around them was, brothers bonded.
An ‘I love you too, Owen’ spoken over the calls of birds, sounds of nature that played throughout the backyard, Owen would have one more performance that afternoon. A final ride into hazardous waters. One last hurrah for himself and others to enjoy, least all but Bret. His fingers running through dark curls, the shorter strands that nestled at the base of the Hitman’s neck, played with, he whispered into big brother’s ear. Dreamily, like a song from a fairytale: Davey owes me for this one. Bret couldn’t keep from laughing. The losses be damned.

interrupting your irregularly scheduled funnies and/or funs with a somewhat long rant,
god don't you just LOVE it when your mother is a fucking shitbag who will leave you unannounced for hours (sometimes DAYS) on end with no food or money to buy any food, or even someone else to take care of you, while she's off partying somewhere or GOD knows what? but she's the only option you have because your stepfather is even worse?
don't you also just fucking ENJOY it when your little brother is addicted to smoking and vaping and your mother actively, and knowingly enables it, while you're here, worried about his future but unable to do shit about it? yeah me neither. thank god there's only a few years left until my parents have absolutely zero hold over me anymore. bunch of cunts, they are.
oh and there's also the way she treats our cat. she tends to give her dog food, despite the cat not even touching it. apparently, she'll eat it when she gets desperate. yeah uh huh, sure mom. that's totally a healthy way to treat your fucking cat. it's not as if she's not eating it FOR A REASON or anything, right?
oh and there's also my little brother. sure, he may be a rude fucking cunt sometimes. but god damn it if i don't feel bad for him. it's ALWAYS his fucking fault, according to my mom. something went wrong? he caused it. he's the source of all trouble in this shitty fucking household. he's always the first one she blames. he's basically her scapegoat, and it's so fucking unfair. i've often tried to stand up in his defence, but she doesn't fucking care. she just wants someone to blame, and he is the PERFECT victim. i have too much of a spine for her, but he's more of a doormat. he's easier to break. easier to manipulate.
and no, she doesn't even try to act respectflly. she'll cuss him out, calling him an idiot, stuff like that. she even hits him sometimes.
when i become and adult, he'll be fifteen years old. i don't know how legal it is for a sibling to take his brother with him, but i'll try it
there, got most of my trash out in the open. if you see it, i'm sorry, but hey. my blog, my rules (and tumblr's)

HELLO IAH sorry if this is weird but u were in my dream last nite!
On it we were uni classmates that didn't really talk but got put together for a wood etching assignment (?) & so after that class we walked to my place so we could work on it there.
You surprised me bc you seemed intimidating in class but actually talked a lot and were rly chill and funny... It was autumn & as we walked down the streets the sun was starting to fall a little bit and our surroundings started to get progressively more unsettling in a nightvale-esque way? I.e the lights from inside the houses were really creepy for some reason, we watched smth black ooze from under a door, so on and so forth. Then you got a call from your mom? aunt? and had to leave quick so we never even got to do our assignment and i was alone in the nightvale version of my neighborhood shdjdn ✌💀
Also! In the dream u looked like a perfect balance between ur icon and dola?? (Your hair was longer like hers? U were crazy pretty and i was literally >3< awestruck, whoever faceclaimed(?) u in my dreams...hmu... You had a really cool leather backpack wit a white bear charm? as well and i now want one :(
sorry this is v outta nowhere and so long winded but i had to let u know & also wrote it v fast this mornin so as to not forget it 😔🖤
sobs now i can never show my actual face… how can i live up to the dream version of me ;w; wtf a balance between my icon and dola… what a dream indeed ahdjshs
sorry it took a bit to get to this but i had to deal with some horrors and needed to keep my mood as stable as possible which… somehow seems to only happen when i’m playing sdv?? anyway anyway my gosh!! what an honor to be in your dream, even tho i apparently had to run off to do something and leave you alone to suffer with acads >.< the acads seem fun though… i’d love to do some actual wood etching and i always did fairly well whenever the class was a more hands-on one
it seems a little accurate to my current situation tbh? i feel like i’ve been busy and having to deal with a bunch of calls and communications between family (somewhat against my will too >.>)
so happy btw that it seems like the me in your dream was chill and funny ;w; i’m kinda thinking about how things wouldve gone if we met in uni somehow, like if we went the same one… it seems pretty accurate to how stuff usually went for me in uni tbh, save for the way the world around us slowly turned into nightvale >.<
(semi-prophetic dreams in terms of symbolism perhaps? <-are u into this kinda thing >.<)
i hope you’ve been doing well!! ;w; sorry if this whole reply seems like a mess ajdjshs i kinda feel like one

I LOVE MY DAD (2022)
Starring Patton Oswalt, James Morosini, Claudia Sulewski, Rachel Dratch, Ricky Velez, Lil Rel Howery, Amy Landecker, Sarah Helbringer, Shari Fairchild, Seamus Callahan, J.P. Edwards, Afrim Gjonbalaj, Zae'on James, Patrick Klein, Ricky Pak, Mike Sutton and Jon Seeber.
Screenplay by James Morosini.
Directed by James Morosini.
Distributed by Magnolia Pictures. 90 minutes. Rated PG-13.
I Love My Dad rides on a concept which is sort of a nightmare scenario for today’s social media-driven world. What if that pretty new woman you met online and are starting to have feelings for turns out to actually be your dad?
That is going to take some serious therapy to get over.
Being catfished by your parent – even if it is done with only the best of intentions – seems like it may be the idea behind a comedy. In fact, about 15-20 years ago a very similar storyline was the catalyst behind the romantic comedy The Perfect Man. (Although in that film the roles were flipped, a teenaged daughter pretended to romance her lovelorn mother in order get her to notice the cute bar-owner nearby.)
Interestingly, while there is much that is very funny about I Love My Dad, this film does take a much more serious look at the whole situation. Dad decided on this admittedly very drastic course of action because he was being ignored by his estranged, depressed and possibly suicidal son, and the situation just blew up on him in ways he never quite expected. (Granted, he probably should have expected it to get way too complicated, but still, it was mostly coming from a pure place.)
Making I Love My Dad even more interesting is the fact that it is apparently based on a real-life scenario which occurred to writer/director/co-star James Morosini. And while his closeness to the subject is a bit of a double-edged sword – he tends to eventually let his dad off the hook for some very questionable choices – it does make for an interesting take.
Morosini plays Franklin, a severely depressed 20-something who is recently out of rehab and living with his mom (Amy Landecker). His dad Chuck (Patton Oswalt) is mostly out of the picture due to a contentious divorce and living in a different town. He’s trying to keep up with his son and trying to help him with his problems, but Franklin won’t answer any of his calls and has blocked him on social media.
Therefore dad creates a profile to keep an eye on his son, and maybe give him an occasional “buck-up” speech if he needs one. Chuck uses a sweet waitress at a local diner named Becca (Claudia Sulewski) as the inspiration for the catfish – he basically copies all her Facebook posts and pictures onto his own fake account – and friends his son on social media. He even imagines that someday Becca would make a nice girl for his son to eventually meet.
Nope, that doesn’t sound like that was all that well thought out.
Honestly, it wasn’t. Through much of I Love My Dad the audience is wondering what the heck Chuck is doing and how he could possibly delude himself that any of this would work out. However, like I said, he was doing it from good intentions.
Naturally, Franklin finds himself being attracted to Becca, and things start spinning totally out of control. Franklin wants to talk with Becca on the phone, wants to Facetime, wants to meet, wants to sext – all as dad looks on in horror. Still, he has to sell it, so Chuck does play along. He even eventually involves a woman coworker that he is dating off and on (Rachel Dratch).
It’s a high-wire act to play, and Patton Oswalt does a masterful job in the role, essentially selling the slightly unbelievable character and making him likable and understandable. Sulewski also does very well in a particularly complex role – she is playing Franklin’s fantasy version of Becca more often than she is actually playing the real character, and she makes both versions believable and distinct. In fact, of the leads, only writer-director Morosini somewhat disappoints, just because Franklin is such an inscrutable character that it is a little difficult to get a handle on him.
You know none of this can end well, and mostly it doesn’t, and yet I Love My Dad does leave open the opportunity of healing. Like the dad himself, this movie is sometimes a little awkward and sometimes just wrong, but it has its heart in the right place.

Unit Viability Speculation - Summer N
Alright, first up on the datamine is Summer N, and I gotta say, thank god they went with a cool festival theme over the swimsuits.
Last month, which is technically this month, we got SS Ethan and SS Lyra, two units who pack the coveted Trap effect to bypass Cresselia’s setup phase, and make alternatives to teambuilding.  Then we got Bede, whose debuffs seem tailor made to stop Cresselia’s special-side buffs, even if he can’t handle the evasion.  Summer N is another in this ever-growing line.  It’s been pretty clear they’re on an Anti-Cresselia system right now, which is funny because it’s not even in the Gauntlet.
Summer N comes with Zoroark, and is a Dark Striker.  Fuck you, everyone on Reddit who insisted he’d be Tech, I finally get my due.  Night Daze has a 40% chance to lower accuracy, and he got Snarl, which does also get Satisfied Snarl 4 for a 50/50 to drop special attack again.  Nothing great, but also not too bad.  The real benefit is Supereffective Up Next on entry with easy three-turn setup, and another on sync.  As a Dark type that is also special, this makes him incredibly effective against Cresselia in particular.  I do feel his passives are somewhat wasted on this one skill, but such is life.
Devastation is his sync multiplier, so hope you got Bede to help set that one up.  Furious Brain is a nice move multiplier, easily set up.  Obscuring Power 3 and Obscuring Sync 5 are neat, focusing on accuracy debuffs building power as well.  Though admittedly, these are going to be really inconsistent.  Night Daze is only a -1, and with one On a Roll, you can get to like 64% per hit, but it’s slow going and there really aren’t many choices to help debuff accuracy.
As far as partners go, because his setup is three turns of flawless perfection, he doesn’t need anyone specific for buffs.  With a four-gauge move, he likely wants speed, and hysterically, Halloween Caitlin isn’t the worst pick.  The slight accuracy and +2 speed off her trainer move is ideal, while she also buffs both defenses.  Alternatively, anyone with just...reasonable bulk.  I’d also point out the joy of NY!Lillie.  N lowering accuracy while she boosts evasion is admittedly just really funny to me, especially since both of them have Queue Cutter.  I’d also point out Darkrai.  Darkrai’s Power Play needs a good debuff ally, and N’s not a terrible pick.  There’s definitely better, but they have great combined speed, and Darkrai can keep up pressure with Sleep, and set up Zone.  One thing I will note: while Bede is great for the debuffs, generally speaking, the Zone effect is stronger.  I tried the same kind of thing with Karen, and her damage was just outright better with Cyrus than Bede.  So keep that in mind.  For Gauntlet, he’ll be a pretty interesting pick.  Supereffective Up Next is a massive double edged sword.  Against Cresselia, he’ll do great, so long as he can hit.  But against everything else, he’s got strong base damage and the ability to lower accuracy, which is likely what you need to lean in to if he’s going to win.  He won’t be that good against Regirock, and likely can’t debuff enough to handle Latias either, at least not alone.  But provided you check the gimmick boxes, I think he’ll do okay against the rest.
On the whole, I like him.  Anyone with SS Cyrus already has the better unit, but he’s a very strong pick, and has great anti-Cresselia properties.  Not that we need that, apparently.  They really are scared...

https://blog.psychopopular.com/japan-and-asia/the-umineko-review
This was a fucking treat, not just the review but the liveblog posts. Past the half-joking ep 1 coverage, the guy legitimately gets everything right- absolutely everything- to the point where you begin to think he's cheating... but I don't think he was, for the following two reasons:
- he doesn't pick up on the lolpony motive - he doesn't pick up on shkanon in the slightest
If he had read ahead I'd expect he would either include these in the solution like "me, I did this, I thought this up based on the reading" or he would have played coy... instead we have the perfect image of an attentive reader of the sort Ryukishi seems to say he wants who gets all the mechanical solutions correct right out the bat without even considering the insane (and insanely retarded) subtext that's supposedly so incredibly vital to said solutions. The closest he gets to an issue is the first ep first twilight and Shannon's missing body/faked death, where he does hit on the actual solution (no body is present) but discards it for being too insane (and insanely retarded)- that everyone lying to Battler (and I guess George too) for no apparent reason when there's massively bigger issues at hand is absurd (and absurdly reta- i'll stop). Kinda funny that doesn't seem to come up for other events that center around lying, but he does focus more on the things that actually are known to have happened rather than trying to justify the "fantasy" scenes. Which is what Ryu says you totally shouldn't do, because reasons. And yet this guy did it and won. Whoops. Incidentally, I don't think it ever really was properly declared that everyone in the shed was dead. We get "no body double tricks" and "identities of the unidentifiable corpses are guaranteed", which... tell us nothing. How do you define body double tricks, or rather what do you define as not being such? Identities are guaranteed to be what? And there's no claim that any of the apparent corpses aren't just actually alive and playing dead, in which case neither statement would even apply. I'd invoke ep 5/6's "call something a corpse that's not a corpse" bit, but that likely wasn't even thought of at the time. So instead of Shkanon's required complete lack of corspe, having Shannon lying in the back, maybe under some junk to make it harder to verify her state and cover her breathing, is a very easy solution. The blogwriter's alternative bludgeon, that Shannon was already dead and "Beatrice" impersonated her meaning "Shannon" dodges all death checks, not only allows for all solutions to work just about as well as they do canonically if not better, but is similar to something that was widely theorised as a result of the love duel in ep 6, where Shannon and Kanon face off before each game, and possibly one dies and the other impersonates them (because perpetual Shkanon is ludicrously improbable unless it's more like Shmion in the first place, but single-person Shkanon only on the days of the conference is at least somewhat workable). In fact, so much more time is spent on Kanon's existence and name and whatnot in ep 6 that I think it's easier to pull this with Shannon than Kanon, despite the latter being etc etc I suppose it could even work as a metaphorical death where Shannon threw away her identity before the games to commit to her acts; even though it's similar to lolpersonalitydeath it feels less cheap somehow. Actually, this also works if "Shannon" is long-dead- like if she's the servant who fell down the stairs, or jumping ahead to ep 7 if Yasu's imaginary Shannon friend was a real servant who died at some point (and Yasu just got the same servant name afterwards because idgaf). He also skims over how Shannon hid the evidence of her suicide in Natsuhi's room that one time, which is funny because Ryu made such a big deal about it in that one interview. But, like, no one cares. ... Actually, if real-Shannon's death was very recent, putting her corpse in the shed in ep 1 wouldn't result in a misidentification. It's Shannon's corpse and they identify it as Shannon. It would be mistaking the imposter Shannon's corpse for the real Shannon's that would be a mistake.
The final review supports some things I'd suspected but hadn't had enough knowledge of mystery lit lore to confirm (yay confirmation bias). Ryu wanted to make A Statement because A Statement is a cool thing to make, but had no idea what the heck he was talking about. The note about the year is interesting- at a glance you'd think it's just like making it look like a fake sequel to Higurashi by setting it a few years after that, but it's actually the year before one of the defining works of Umineko's (attempted) metagenre, which is... interesting. Without that knowledge it looks like Ryukishi is just being naive about what's come before him in his writing, but that detail makes it seem like he's deliberately avoiding acknowledging his... inspirations. It rather underlines how shallow his reading of it is if just acknowledging that similar works exist would undermine what he's doing. Actually, it's a pretty similar situation to the outfit designs, where he somehow simultaneously acts like no one could find anything wrong with how he's doing things (Devilish Pretty...) and plays coy about it such that no one is ever properly credited (Devilish Pretty is a joke and doesn't count) as if he wants it to not be noticed because he knows he'd get flack for it. As in, he wants it to be seen so he can be praised for it, but also not seen so he won't get his much-deserved dressing down for his bullshit. Please see it with love everyone.
My only quibble is that he aims to position Ryu's rants on the goats and heart as an actual point of view Ryu is attempting to put forth- I don't think that's the case at all. I think it's much more likely that the story had gone so far off the rails (if those rails even existed to begin with) that there was nothing left to do but throw together some boilerplate nonsense that would hit at some emotional resonance while tying in parts of the story and giving the appearance of concluding them... something that would be very easy to defend just by the audience being emotionally attached to it. After all, the phrase of "intellectual rapist" didn't start out as an insult to be thrown at the audience but as a signal that Erika was tew kewl!! in the process of activating those memberberries and inducing waifufags to simp and coom.
It's very funny to me that he brings up the concept of the answer being the answer only by the hammer of canon in the ep 3 review when that's one of the many criticisms I've seen leveraged at Shkanon, that it feels like it was only the solution because Ryu said so. Ditto the whole Kyrie culprit debacle.

I saw you and I knew.
Biker!Bucky x Reader AU
Run-through: You met Bucky unexpectedly at an unfamiliar bar one night - one of your last nights of freedom before your parents marry you off to some rich, young man. Bucky happened to be so different from all the men you had dated or you were used to seeing that it was a little bit of a surprise how reckless and open he was. You had been subconsciously looking for a way out of the situation you were in for days, so when Bucky makes you a rather unusual proposal; you accept immediately. And it ends up being one of the best things you ever agreed to.
Themes: smut, fluff,
a/n: remember this Bucky? Yeah, me too.
Tumblr media
The moment you stepped into the bar, you felt all eyes on you.
Not in a bad way, more like in an intrigued way.
A couple of steps in and you realized why; there was no one but bikers in this club. Large, built, mean looking men. But judging by the sound of laughter and the bouncers scattered around the room, you felt oddly safe in the environment.
You went up to the counter and ordered yourself a drink. Once you found a seat in the less crowded area of the bar, you settled in next to the large window pane; looking out at the passing cars while sipping on your drink. The sun would set soon so the sky was all pink, and-
You felt a tap on your shoulder. “This seat taken?” A male voice spoke up behind you.
You placed your bottle down and turned to face him. You were aware that you did stare at him for a while. How could you not? Dark, slightly long hair, worn out leather jacket, and tattoos… a lot of them, peeking through his collar and around his wrists. And a perfect face. He gave you a slight smirk when he noticed that you were checking him out but you soon recovered, your heart racing.
“No, it’s not.” You gestured to the seat across from you, which he then walked over to.
You watched him, how he moved so confidently. You kept watching as he placed his own beer down, and took his leather jacket off to reveal a loose, ripped t-shirt underneath, as well as his muscular arms; one of them metal and glistening in the dimmed lights of the bar. He folded the jacket carelessly into a ball and placed it down on the table before taking a seat in front of you, leaning back and placing his muscular, tattooed arm over the seat of the booth. You noticed his pierced ears then.
It almost felt like a strip show. He had barely said enough to you and you were already feeling a little hot, with him staring at you.
“I’ve never seen you around here before.” He said, and something about his ease, and the softness of his tone, despite his rather mean and dangerous appearance, chased away the little bit of awkwardness which was forming in between you too. It soon vanished.
You licked your lips and answered, “It’s my first time here actually.” You gave him a polite smile which he returned, giving you the same look that everyone gave you for the first nanoseconds you walked in - an intrigued look.
He leaned forward, and gently toyed with your car keys laying on the table top. You got a whiff of his scent. You expected him to smell like cigarettes but he smelt like some fading, strong and expensive cologne. Very manly. “You’re a long way from home, aren’t you, Princess?”
You furrowed your eyebrows at him slightly, not minding the nickname. “How’d you know?”
He chuckled, and the sound echoed in your head. He sounded so boyish when he laughed, it warmed your heart for some reasons. Something about him screamed trouble, and recklessness and danger.
“You drive a Benz which no one here does, you’re drinking a martini while everyone is having cheap beers and you’re dressed like a classy lady in a place filled with leather and chains. So tell me, am I right?” He pointed out, his tone cocky and confident like one would expect.
You leaned back into your seat as well. “You’re judging me.” You pointed out. Funny, you thought you were somewhat blending in here with your little black dress - but clearly not.
He laughed again, making you crack a little smile. “Princess, look around. You don’t belong here. So tell me, what’s your story? How did you end up in a place like this?”
You sighed. “I was just… driving around, and I ran out of fuel not far from here. So I called for my chauffeur and didn’t want to wait by the side of the road until he arrived so I figured I could get a drink while waiting.”
He looked you dead in the eyes while you talked. Nodding at each bit of information. “I meant your real story, Princess. You drove a long way, why? I see it in your eyes. Something’s bothering you. What is it?”
He was reading you like you were his favorite book. And you found that quite… interesting because no one was ever able to do that normally. It felt intimate.
“And why should I tell you?”
“Because you want to. You need a friend, and I’m not half bad, am I?” Cocky, as expected.
You chuckled. “You won’t get it.”
He raised an eyebrow. A warning. “What is it? Your conservative and rich father won’t give you your pocket money in thousands this month?”
Despite the words, he managed to get yet another laugh out of you. “I earn my own money, thank you.”
“I’ll believe you. Then what is it? Your snobbish, rich playboy boyfriend is acting up?”
And yet another chuckle left your lips. “You seem to have issues with people who are well-off.”
He smirked. “Trust me, I don’t. I just want to figure you out.”
“Why?”
“Because your eyes are telling me that you’re sad. And that you’ve been contained for too long. You want to be freed. Am I wrong?”
Your lips parted at the accuracy of his words. “No, you’re not.” You lowered your eyes to the table, but he was quick to reach out with his metal arm and grab you gently by the chin. He tilted your head just enough so you could look at him.
“What is it, angel?” He asked softly.
“I… I don’t want to go home.” You whispered, your voice tired and low.
“Okay. Parents?” He spoke like he could relate.
You nodded and he gently let go of your face. “Parents.” You confirmed. “They want me to marry one of their friend’s son because according to them it’ll be good for the both of us. And you know, for each of the families’ businesses.”
He frowned. “You don’t like him, I assume.”
You sighed. “I don’t know him. He’s a good man according to my mother, who also hasn’t seen him since we were kids. Apparently I met him once or twice but I was too young back then to remember…” you sighed again, “It doesn’t matter anymore.” You shook your head, picking up your glass and taking yet another sip. “ Whoever he is, I can’t say no.”
He scoffed. “Yes you can.”
You chuckled, dryly. “You don’t understand. My dad will make my life a living hell if-,”
“Who cares what he thinks? He married the one he loved, didn’t he? Then why not let you find love on your own as well?” He did make sense.
You smiled sadly, thinking of your parents and their marriage. “I don’t think so.”
He stopped midway through picking his beer bottle up. “What?” he asked, then went back to picking it up again, bringing it to his pink lips.
“My dad. I don’t think he married out of love.” You let out a quiet scoff, “I don’t think my mom did either. They just realized that that would be the best for the both of them, I suppose. Now that I think about it, I don’t think they ever truly loved each other at any point.” You tilted your head while looking out at the passing cars out the window. “Mom always told me that marriage isn’t always about love, it’s about convenience.”
He let out a shameless chuckle. “I’m sorry, but what a bunch of bullshit! You believe her?” He asked in disbelief.
“It’s all I’ve ever been told all my life. Besides, I don’t have much of a choice anymore, might as well.”
He frowned at you, setting his bottle down to give you his full attention. “Come on, Princess. You can’t be serious. You can’t give up on love just because your parents did.”
That earned him a smile from you. “You sound like you know a lot about love.” You leaned forward, placing your elbow on the table, resting your chin on your fist. “It’s your turn, tell me, who has you under their unescapable love spell?” It was surprising how easy it was to talk to him. Almost felt like you had known him all your life.
He laughed again, that same boyish look on his face. “Nah, none of that. But I do know what it’s like to be contained, and I also know what it’s like to be finally free, with no worries about family pressure or expectations and let me tell you, Princess, it’s the best feeling in the world.”
That sounded exquisite. It sounded like… like everything you wanted right there and then. To not bother about what mom and dad might think and live for yourself for however long you wanted to.
“And what gives you that freedom? Riding down the highway at full speed on your mean bike?” You sassed.
You watched how his eyes lit up. “You’re right. And that’s exactly what you need, Princess. Come on, let’s go!”
Before you could process anything, he grabbed your hand and stood up. All you could do was quickly grab your purse and keys and you went along with him. You only realized what you were doing once you stepped outside.
“Wait! I- I…” You were stumbling over your words. A million thoughts rushing through your head all at once. And the piercing pair of blue eyes staring deep into yours weren’t helping at all.
He walked up to you. “It’s your life. They can’t tell you how to live it. You have every right to find love on your own, and if you don’t want to marry what’s his face then don’t. Parent or not, they can’t do that to you. Come on, let’s go before some old, broody chauffeur gets here.”
He tugged on your arm gently, walking towards the many bikes which were parked outside the bar.
“But, I- I’m supposed to leave tomorrow, to see the guy. I’m… I can’t just disappear. Where are we even going? I just met you and I- I don’t even know your name. Besides, you had alcohol. You can’t-,”
“Apple juice.” He stopped, and turned around to look at you. He repeated, “Apple juice. Don’t tell anyone.”
You looked at him like he was speaking another language. “What?”
“The bartender is a cool guy, I told him I don’t consume alcohol when I ride so he poured apple juice in beer bottles for me so that I can mingle with the crowd but also get home safe.” He explained.
You giggled uncontrollably at his answer and he lowered his blushing face. “That was funny, but I don’t believe you at all, I-,” you cut yourself off as you laughed; quite unladylike.
Without another word said, he circled his arm around you and pulled you into him, and his lips were on yours in less than a second. He kissed you deeply, thoroughly. Still gentle, but passionately. He held you by the neck with his metal hand and you melted in his embrace. You kissed him back and you heard a little moan escape his lips - sending shivers down your spine and making your heart flutter, and other places throb. He teased you by biting down on your lip, making you gasp as his tongue soothed it right after. He pulled you closer, pressing you against him even more, kissing you deeper if that was possible.
Your hands found themselves around his neck, your fingers sliding into his hair. He chuckled against your lips once he noticed that you were getting a little breathless. “Now tell me. What do I taste like, Princess?” He whispered against your lips, his voice sending shivers throughout your body.
Your face felt really hot at his question and only then did you realize that he did in fact taste tangy, and sweet. “Apple.”
He smiled against your lips before kissing you deeply again. “Told you. Now come on, trust me and let’s go. You can go home later tonight, or tomorrow morning. I’ll drop you wherever you wanna go. But right now, come with me.”
Fuck it.
“Yes.” You agreed. He gave you a big smile and tugged you along once again. You spoke up again. “And if you plan on killing me, just make it quick. Please. And don’t do weird things to me after I’m dead. Definitely do not feed me to animals, or humans for that matter. And don’t-”
He cut you off with another kiss once you reached his bike. “Shh.” He laughed. “I won’t do any of that. Now come on, put these on.” He handed you his jacket from earlier and a helmet.
You put those on quickly, not giving yourself the chance to overthink and prevent yourself from living a little. Once you climbed onto his bike, you realized that you would be pressed up against his back quite a bit. You didn’t mind it, it just made your heart race a little. His leather jacket felt nice and cool against your skin.
“Hold on tight, Princess. It won’t be that long of a ride. But it’ll be great, trust me.”
You nodded, and he chuckled at how adorable you looked with his huge, black helmet on. “Don’t kill us.”
“I won’t, angel.”
He kicked the engine to life. It roared so loudly that you couldn’t help but feel the adrenaline rush already. You giggled as he drove off, away from the pub, away from where you had left your car, away from where your chauffeur was supposed to pick you up. Away.
You felt the wind against your bare legs and parts of your face. Cold, rushing - making you forget. You wrapped your arms tight around his waist and tipped your head a little, looking up at the saturated, pink sky, the stars had started showing faintly and suddenly you realized how much of your life you had missed while chasing the dreams your parents had assigned you to chase.
Your friends would often talk of reckless nights back in university, but you never got to experience those because you were always busy studying to make sure your parents remained proud of you.
But you were now. You were on a mean bike with a drop dead gorgeous man, riding down the highway while the sun set in the background. You felt alive. Slowly, you loosened your arms from around his waist, lifting them away from his body. You lifted your arms upwards, feeling your hands tear through the icy winds and you let out a genuine laugh.
You noticed he slowed down a little when you did so. You let your arms up for some more time before you lowered them and wrapped them around his waist again. You inched closer and pressed your chest to his back, feeling his warmth seep through the many layers of clothing.
“Thank you.” You whispered close to his ear. You knew he heard you even if he didn’t respond right away.
“Wanna see the sunset better?” he asked, barely a second later.
“Yes, please!”
About ten minutes later, he pulled into the parking lot of what seemed like a motel. You got off the bike once he came to a stop and he did too. He helped you take the helmet off and immediately grabbed your hand and ran towards the motel.
You followed, giggling like a kid. “Where are we going?”
“The roof. Come on, quick.”
He answered and led both of you to what seemed to be some sort of fire escape. You climbed the metal stairs as fast as you could, not more than a few steps behind him until you reached the roof. It was filled with empty cans, cigarette butts and what not but it also gave you a view to die for.
The sky had turned orangish by now, the sun was halfway down the horizon and you were mesmerized. You couldn’t look away. The sky darkened with each second, and you felt too much at the same time. You wanted to run. And never come back. You wanted bike rides everyday. You wanted to take the time and admire each sunset like this. You wanted to not worry about anything for a while.
You felt strong arms wrap around you from behind. Then he placed his chin on your shoulder, pressing a sweet kiss to your cheek. “Don’t cry, angel.” Only then did you realize that you had a tear slowly falling down your cheek.
You wiped it away and kept staring at the sky, watched it change colors. Your racing heart calmed down and a certain body heat wrapped around you, comforting you better than any blanket ever could.
You turned in his arms, facing him once the sky turned a darker shade of blue when the sun had set completely. Another tear escaped your eye. He caught this one before it fell down your cheek. He looked down at you with a soft look in his eyes. It almost made your heart hurt.
“I don’t want to go home. I don’t want to marry him. I don’t want any of it.” You whispered, keeping your eyes on his neck, admiring his tattoos through your teary eyes. You couldn’t tell what they were just yet, but they looked incredible on his tan skin.
“Then don’t.” He answered, easily. “Don’t go home right away. Don’t marry him if you don’t want to. Stay.” He whispered the last bit, his metal arm reaching up to cup your face. “You might just be the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
You giggled through the tears. “So this is where you bring all the girls?” You asked, your tone much more playful and teasing.
He shook his head, laughing quietly. “I don’t. I don’t even live in this town. I have a family thing I need to attend in a day or two, so I was just passing by. I got a room for a couple of nights and boom, now here we are.”
You nodded slowly. “Here we are.” You whispered back, your eyes flicking down to his lips a couple of times before looking back up into his eyes.
He gave you a faint smile before leaning in for a kiss again, sighing once his lips touched yours like he had been craving it. You wrapped your arms around him, kissing him back. He kissed you recklessly, tugging and biting your lip, allowing his hands to slide up and down your side and he tilted your head to the side, stroking deeper into your mouth with his tongue.
“Let’s go.” He murmured against your lips before kissing them again.
“Where?”
“Downstairs.” He kissed along your jaw until his mouth reached your ear. He gave you a kiss and you visibly trembled in his arms. “It’s my turn to see what you taste like.” He whispered, blunt and hot.
Your face felt really hot, again. And when he pulled away, he had a handsome smirk on his pretty face. You got over the shyness and leaned in to kiss him again, aggressively. He chuckled into your mouth and pulled away before tugging you along as he took the stairs again, leading the two of you downstairs.
The night was properly dark by the time you got to the front of the motel, both of you unable to keep your hands off each other, stopping multiple times to push one another against the wall and make out like there’s no tomorrow.
There were not many people in sight. You could hear murmurs of muffled conversations coming from the restaurant which was attached to the motel, and a group of bikers were having a chat and smoking out in the parking lot but that was all.
He led you to his room, unlocked the door and pulled you inside, both of you giggling and moaning as you kissed like horny teenagers.
He pulled away again, “Oh and, my name’s Bucky. Remember that when you’re moaning later.” He whispered breathlessly against your lips as he slammed the door shut behind the two of you and wrapped his arms around you immediately, pulling you closer as though he needed you like he needed air.
“I’m Y/N. You remember that too.” You moaned into the kiss and shrugged his leather jacket off as quickly as possible, eager to feel his skin on yours. You helped him take his shirt off, tossing it aside carelessly. You briefly let your hands roam around his torso, feeling each indent and firm muscle, your heart racing with each inch of skin you explored.
He unzipped your dress while walking the two of you backwards, and by the time you made it to the queen sized bed you were both left in just your underwear.
Bucky pushed you down on the bed, it was surprisingly soft and comfortable. He was on top of you not even a second later. You whined when he moved to kiss down your neck, nibbling on your skin and leaving dark red marks behind. You wrapped your legs around him, moving your hips against him slowly, grinding on him out of desperation and he chuckled against your skin. “Eager, are we?” he whispered and peppered your neck with soft kisses.
You moaned when his hands reached up to wrap around your breasts, fondling and teasing you through the lacy bra. He moaned against your skin as your fingers slid through his hair and tugged at his roots.
“Bucky…” You dragged his name out, squirming under him as he took his sweet time kissing down your body.
“Hmm?” He acted oblivious as he took your underwear off and tossed them on the floor as he settled himself in between your legs properly. His handsome, perfect face just inches away from your dripping core.
You whined. “I want you, please…”
He chuckled, kissing your inner thighs. “I know, angel. I know.” His warm breath fanned your sensitive skin as he spoke, and he noticed the way the goosebumps erupted all over your skin. He looked up at you for a quick second, scanning your face.
You held your upper body up on your elbows by now, looking down at him with your bottom lip in between your teeth. He sent you a shameless wink before leaning in and kissing your wet folds, his tongue slowly circling around your throbbing clit and licking down, parting your wet folds with ease. He teased your entrance with his tongue and your body felt hotter than earlier.
A pressing need to release formed deep inside you as you felt his tongue stroked your most sensitive parts. “You taste better than I imagined…” Bucky chuckled as he looked up at you and found you with your eyes shut, head thrown back in pleasure.
He grinned to himself, glad that he was the one bringing you such pleasure. He wrapped his arms around your thighs, keeping you in place and close to him. He placed his mouth back on you again, and licked in between your wet folds, making you whine as he tasted you. His touch was slow, pleasurably agonizing. “Please…” you cried out, whimpering and begging.
“Oh?” He taunted. “But I’m not quite done, so don’t you come yet angel.” He whispered against your wet skin. He kissed down all the way to your core, and gently bit your skin, making you hiss in pleasure. You could feel your arousal trickling out of you, one drop at a time. But Bucky didn’t let none of it go to waste, he leaned in and latched his mouth onto your core, sucking and licking and teasing you. Your arousal coated the lower half of his face, but he didn’t mind it one bit.
He watched how you lost control under his touch; legs shaking as he teased your entrance with the tip of his tongue. His hands wrapped around your thighs, securing you in his grip as he pushed his face further into you, making you cry out loud. He had you coming undone all over his mouth in no time.
“That’s a good girl… cum for me, Princess.”
You were gasping for air in no time, your body squirming under his. Bucky kissed his way up your body again. He gave you a brief kiss on the lips then lifted off you for just a moment to get rid of his underwear and grab a condom from the drawer and put it on. Once done, he was hovering over your naked body again.
Bucky’s body settled in between your legs comfortably again, and he leaned in to kiss you on the nose and then down to your lips. You smiled through the kiss as he pulled you even closer. You could feel his thick and hard cock resting against your thighs. He touched you wherever he could; letting his hands linger at your breasts and taking his sweet time; caressing and kissing your skin. His hands slipped in between your legs with ease; caressing your inner thighs as he went.
You moaned into the kiss; his touch was slow, and gentle and enticing but also fiery. He ran his fingers up and down your folds, gathering and smearing your arousal around. He stared into your eyes, his face still dangerously close to yours. “You okay, angel?” he asked. His voice strained and deep, gravelly with lust.
“Yes… please, I need you.” You whispered against his mouth. You were burning up under him.
Bucky pushed his tongue into past your lips while he pushed his erected cock past your tight entrance. You immediately lifted your legs up to wrap them around his waist like earlier. You moaned quietly as he pushed into you. He grunted once he filled you up entirely, and gave you a couple of seconds to adjust. He grabbed both your hands, laced your fingers together with his and pinned your interlaced hands down on the bed, above your head.
He pulled out and pushed himself back into you, and watched in awe how you struggled to keep quiet. He lowered his face again, and leaned into your ear. “It’s okay, angel. Let me hear you.” He whispered, groaning by the end and let go of your hands to hold your body.
He gripped your waist and pushed deeper into you. You heard him gasp and swear under his breath as he rocked into you. Your nails sank into his skin, around his shoulders; which you held onto for dear life as he pounded into you. He kissed you, bit your lips, kissed your open mouth, and shoved his tongue past your lips while he rammed into you; and you never once complained.
Your legs trembled around his waist, he thrust deeper into you, and in the daze he was in, he mumbled right in your ear about how good you felt. The sound of his moans and grunts sent tingles dancing down your spine.
Never in a million years did you ever think that you would find yourself in a motel room, having mind blowing sex with a hottie you met about an hour ago, but here you were. And you loved each moment. Your back arched off the bed as you felt a familiar warmth washing over you. Bucky growled and bit down on your shoulder to keep himself from making any loud noises while he fucked you. He was relentless. And you loved it.
“Cum for me, angel. Come all over my cock…”
Your moans got louder as your walls clenched violently around him, your body shaking as the waves of pleasure washed over you. You gasped, trying to calm your racing heart but he wasn’t done with you yet. Bucky flipped you onto your stomach and pulled you onto your knees by your hips. He kissed the back of your neck.
“More.” He growled against your skin and pushed your face down against the pillows, making your ass stick out for him. He gripped each side of your hips, tightly. He pushed his cock into you without a word said; earning a sinful moan out of you. He groaned and grunted as he filled you up again; your butt cheeks pressing into his pelvic bone as he pounded into you.
You moaned out loud at the new sensation of him rocking into you from behind. Bucky’s hand found its way to your front and he pressed the palm of his hand against your lower abdomen. He liked the rush of excitement which coursed through him each time he felt his cock deep within you.
You felt him quicken his pace. “Fuck…” he moaned.
You tightened around him, and he groaned, pounding into you; growling and mumbling swear words under his breath. You felt the pressure in between your hips grow until you could barely hold back anymore. His other hand reached around and toyed with your folds; his fingers furiously rubbed the skin around your clit and made you tremble and whimper again.
“Bucky… please,” You moaned, craving more and more of him.
With a few more strokes of his thick cock, you felt his thrust becoming irregular, and felt his cock throb against your walls. You tightened around him, feeling the burning hot need to cum grow hotter and hotter inside you until it exploded. You came with a loud moan, gushing all around him. Bucky came right after you; buried deep within you – growling and mumbling swear words under his breath.
His soft kisses are the last thing you remember feeling before you snuggled up to his warm body under the sheets and drifted off to sleep without a single care in the world for the first time in a long time.
---
You laid your head on his bare chest, a thin white sheet barely covering either of you properly. The sun was coming up and you could tell that your phone would be blowing up by now if you hadn’t turned it off the night before. You quickly chased those thoughts away, you didn’t want to think about anyone this morning.
Just Bucky.
You lifted your head up slowly so as not to disturb him but when you looked up you found him staring down at you with a soft smile on his face. “Hi.” You whispered, your voice hoarse and strained.
He chuckled, pushing some of your hair out of your face. “Hey angel. Are you okay? Does anything hurt?” He asked, concern written all over his face for a moment.
You shook your head. “I’m okay.” You lowered your head again, placing your ear right on top of his heart. You let out a sigh. You knew you wouldn’t be able to escape your family forever and your father will track you down and you would have to explain yourself, possibly even marry whoever they ask you to but this right now, last night and this morning - you would cherish that forever.
You lazily ran your fingers up and down Bucky’s tattooed arm wishing for a different reality, while he played with your hair. You gently traced the lines and curves of ink on his skin, some were hard to decipher because they overlapped with the others. Some words you could make out, some you couldn’t. A few of the discreet, smaller tattoos looked like he had done them himself, and their messiness made you giggle. Like the poorly done smiley face on the inside of his wrist, and the fading initials next to them: j.b.b.
You froze. Hang on…
“Bucky?” You felt like you would explode with the amount of emotions and thoughts which rushed inside your head.
“Yes Princess?” You could hear the sleep in his voice.
“What’s your last name?” You asked, anticipation building inside of you and almost choking you. It couldn’t be… could it?
“Barnes. Why?” He answered, looking down at you with confusion all over his face meanwhile you looked like you had seen a ghost.
You closed your eyes and let out a shaky breath. “Let me guess, your real name is James. And your father has a very close friend and fellow businessman named Y/L/N?”
He furrowed his eyebrows at you. “Yes. How did you-,”
You got up and straddled him, pinning him down under you. He didn’t mind the nudity, quite the contrary actually. “Bucky! You’re the guy I’m supposed to marry! You’re James Buchanan Barnes!” You went on to tell him your full name and you watched how the realization hit him just as hard as it hit you.
“Oh…” His smirk faded for a moment as he processed what you had just said, before it formed again. “Well in that case…” He flipped the two of you around and pinned you down under him just like he had last night. “It’s nice to finally meet you, future wife.” He leaned in for another kiss.

Okay fuck all the fake activists on Twitter
This is actual bullshit. Go fight ACTUAL racists and ACTUAL homophobes. NOT SOME GUY WHO JUST MADE SOME JOKES YOU DIDN'T LIKE, FOR FUCK'S SAKE.
I'm actually so mad right now. Because you realise that all those jokes that I've seen people yelling about that he made actually even somewhat recently are making fun of racists, right? And you know his audience is full of edgy gamer boys, right? People who are just straight up allergic to genuine appeals. Edgy jokes making fun of racism is literally exactly what those kind of people need. It gives them a way in without feeling immediately alienated. It makes it easier for them to accept that racism is bad actually, and that people who hate racism aren't all humourless assholes who cancel you at the drop of a hat.
So yeah what you guys are doing right now? This is only driving people away. This is making people defensive. And I don't care if you think perfect political correctness is more important than convincing people to not be racist, because you are fucking wrong. Yes it's fine to criticise him and point out when the jokes feel wrong to you or upset you but don't act like everyone has to agree with you or else they're bigots too. (Also stop yelling about years old shit he said as a teenager, nobody CARES. Let people put their past behind them.)
If you don't like his humour, feel free to just not watch Techno, it's fine. But this kind of humour DOES actually serve a purpose. You can't reach out to people if you expect perfect purity from everyone at all times. Sometimes people need space to adapt into new ideas, and humour is actually one of the best ways to do that because of how psychology works.
And yeah the Asian joke was kind of shit but it was literally making fun of racists who thought every Asian person had covid, back when the pandemic was only just becoming a pandemic. It wasn't making fun of Asians. He even prefaced it with acknowledging the horrific racism (his actual words).
Slavery jokes? Like literally the point of those was to address the unfortunate implications of the video game. It's basically just media criticism. It's not endorsing slavery or making light of the real world history. It's pointing out the elephant in the room. It's dark humour, yes, but like is it really better to just NOT acknowledge how weird the whole minion thing is? I feel like it's actually better to acknowledge it. I'm the kind of person who actually feels kinda uncomfortable about game mechanics like that and it helps me when people point out the implications. And dark humour is actually probably the best way to acknowledge it without making the whole thing sound goofy, because it is kinda goofy, but it's still subtly fucked up.
And the "murder is bad"... I literally do not understand why people are mad about that one. I genuinely don't get it. That's literally the kind of joke I could see like any of the popular liberal late night show hosts making to underline the point that murder doesn't magically become okay when it's the police doing it. Like "I shouldn't have to say this but murder is bad". You know? Because a bunch of people out there are ACTUALLY acting like it's okay for the police to murder people (especially black people). This is the most effective response to that bullshit, honestly. It cuts straight to the point. Murder IS bad.
And apparently nobody is acknowledging that the point of that tweet was to share the petition. He wasn't just like randomly joking about a horrible event, he was trying to help. He's a comedy Minecraft YouTuber, do you seriously expect him to make some sort of solemn plea? No, that would just make him sound sarcastic if anything because he never does that. Humour is how he addresses everything, get used to it or just stop following him.
Also people are just way more likely to respond positively to a joke than to something preachy or depressing, because as it turns out, depression makes people apathetic. I'd be willing to bet more people signed the petition because the tweet was funny than would have if it wasn't. Especially people in Techno's audience.
But these twitter warriors don't care about actions, they apparently don't even care that much about words because there's no way "murder is bad" is a harmful message in this context. So they just care about tone I guess.
Anyway, even of you think he's genuinely problematic, is he SERIOUSLY the enemy that's worth all this attention? All this energy? Fuck off. You know there are bigger fish out there and you didn't go for them, you went for someone you thought you could bully easily because he already has quite a progressive audience.
This isn't activism, this is just harassment. And it was just harassment long before the doxxing bullshit too. Don't pretend like everything up to this point was fine. It was not fine. And it's NOT actually helpful to dig up months or years old shit and plaster it all over twitter and then pretend to care about how these things hurt people's feelings when people wouldn't even have seen them if you didn't dig them up in the first place. If anyone is hurting them right now it's you.
Learn to do some actual fucking work for the cause you fucking shitheads. If that's even what you ever wanted to do, which I kinda doubt actually.
Like I don't pretend like I'm the greatest activist out there but at least I fucking try to do something productive instead of bullying minor celebrities online.
