You discussed this already in your character analysis of James Norrington, but I was wondering what specific sort of ego death / metaphorical death James would have to experience if he did survive? Any ideas on what specifically would have to happen to him to achieve the proper character arc completion?
Ooooh that's a good question! Thank you for taking an interest in my original post :>
Now, what specific ego death would James have to go through to complete his character arc... well, let's get into it! To begin with, the most important thing that needs to happen is for James to realize that his Commodore/Admiral persona is not as just or righteous as he thought it was, and that most of the decisions he had made trying to hold onto that persona either directly or indirectly got people hurt, or even killed. I believe that James would begin to question his decisions up to this point as Beckett starts mass murdering people in the name of ending piracy, but he would try to ignore it and convince himself everything was fine, up until his reunion with Elizabeth where she informs him of her father's death and Beckett's deception on the matter, and he fully, completely realizes that he has let himself become corrupt and complacent to corruption, and that he needs to change.
After this, there are a few ways his "death" scene could go. Maybe he fakes his death so he can escape with Elizabeth without raising suspicion. Maybe he does get injured as he escapes with Elizabeth, and the crew of the Dutchman don't think he'll survive. Either way, the crew of the Dutchman need to think that the Admiral is dead - not just that he deserted, because he had done that before as a Commodore and still came back, but properly dead. Because as far as James is concerned, the Admiral is dead. Now that he has found a way off the Dutchman, James needs to come to terms with the death of his own internal identity. He is no longer Admiral James Norrington, Scurge of Piracy, and upholder of righteousness. He's just James. And he needs to fix the mistakes he has made. So he accompanies Elizabeth to Shipwreck Cove, and gives the pirates all the information he can about Beckett's approaching fleet. The number of ships, how well supplied they are, any weaknesses that could be exploited - anything and everything of relevance that could help the pirates take Beckett down. And then we get to the final battle - the Dutchman versus the Pearl.
Now, there are only two ways I can see this going that would be a satisfactory end to this part of James's character arc. Either he would die on the Dutchman, sacrificing himself for Elizabeth, Jack, or Will, or he survives the final battle, and pledges himself to Elizabeth and her unborn son, Jack and the Pearl, or Will and the Dutchman. Choosing to pledge himself to Elizabeth would be the easiest option, as there is no real moral dilemma or personal conflict there, and he'd be doing a good thing by looking after her and her son. Choosing to pledge himself to Will and the Dutchman would be a bit more difficult because of his personal conflict with both the ship and its new captain, but it would be rather poetic for his arc to end with him helping ferry the souls of the dead when so many had died because of his actions. Choosing to pledge himself to Jack and the Pearl would be the most difficult, both because of his personal conflict with Jack, and the moral dilemma of becoming a pirate after having spent so long in the Navy, even if the Navy turned out to not be as righteous as he had originally thought. It would definitely take him some time to come to terms with the decision, and he would need to find a balance between being a pirate, and being a good man(thankfully Jack already haa some experience in that department). Ultimately though, there is no correct answer for who James would end up choosing, and it's really up to personal interpretation. As a Sparrington shipper, it's clear who I think James would end up choosing, but if you think he'd be more likely to choose Will or Elizabeth, your opinion is equally as valid as mine!
And so, that's how I think James's ego death would go, and how he would reshape himself afterward. Thank you so much for the lovely ask, and thank you all for reading! I hope you all have a wonderful day <3

Piett’s eyes are his key feature and I’m taking them out for dinner. We don’t see Piett legit angry in the films, like utterly livid, but can you imagine the eyes? (We’ve seen him annoyed and frustrated. Bounty Hunters amiright?)
Hooo boy. The things I have planned art wise for this man.
Once I get his feature’s down, and I’m able to draw him out rather naturally, it’s over for the Pieder fandom.

brief rambling about mayakuro in the revue of souls, and their cyclical paradoxical bond that somehow solves itself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
revue of souls posits maya and claudine to us as thus:
claudine, the devil, who bargains with maya, a vessel of god on stage.
the deal, claudine shall show maya, who claims to have stood on every stage there is, a completely new brilliance unseen by her, by the both of them, by anyone. if the deal is fulfilled, then maya's soul is the collateral. her soul shall be taken by the devil.
if you are reading this, then i assume you have seen the revue. i shall skip act i and ii.
act iii begins, and maya declares herself empty, a vessel of god. something to be filled and molded into whatever role the stage wishes, inhuman and most importantly, soulless. if she has no soul to wager, then she automatically wins the bet, no?
here is her declaration, that she is something godly, inhuman, divine.
but that little intermission between act iii and iv.
claudine, the devil, exposes maya. she cannot be soulless, for she shows such emotions as pride and arrogance, envy and longing. she as a stage girl by nature, is greedy. here exists such feelings within her, and this is the proof that she is a human.
the deal still sits unfulfilled.
and here is act iv.
for heroes, there are trials. for saints, there are temptations. for me, there is a devil.
for me, there is you.
maya's admittance to this seals the bet. claudine wins, the devil wins the revue. her soul is damned to fall with the devil. and yet, it is salvation to her. they, together, complete the other. the only one there can be for themselves, is each other. maya's soul falling and being damned is the same thing that gives her salvation, dignity as a human.
together they fall, as something unholy and blasphemous, but together, just themselves, it does not matter if hell is where they land, or if they keep falling forever. each other is heaven, each other is salvation. for me, there is you. their salvation is their rivalry, their eternal clash and overcoming the other over and over again.
maya is damned, yet maya is saved.
claudine as the devil, is already damned, and yet she saves a soul.
act iv ends with fire. hell is the absence of god, and with maya's loss, she can no longer be a vessel of god. thus, the stage is hell, and hellfire consumes it. but to maya and claudine, this hell is heaven, because claudine is there. and to claudine, this hell is heaven, because maya is there.
a continual cycle of salvation and damnation, yet somehow, it seems like it solves itself, this weird little paradox. it really all goes back to that infamous quote huh?
for heroes, there are trials. for saints there are temptations
for me, there is you.

I still thinking what is america looks like way long time before england came? Did he looks like native america? Or he is born right on time when england come?
I'm pretty sure Alfred is meant to represent only post-colonialism USA, hence he most likely appeared shortly before Europe's involvement in the continent. Native America communities most likely had (and still have) separate Personifications which were already around centuries before baby Alfred came to be.
I wouldn't know where to find this because I'm not very knowledgeable on Alfred content, but according to Kitawiki, there's some character note where Himaruya stated that Alfred has some Germanic blood (the note says "has mingled a lot with" which honestly I'm not 100% sure what it means//) and that he feels insecure over the fact that he has "no history" prior to England' adopting him's involvement. This supports the claim that he was born as a colony and didn't represent indigenous American groups.
America is found as a baby by Finland and Sweden in the 17th Century, this means that roughly one century passed between Spain first setting foot in the New World, and Alfred coming to life after colonizers started to establish their power over there (or, alternatively, he spent roughly one century living by himself as a baby).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I didn't post every single panel these strips are made of, these all belong to an Extra Story titled The Battle For America)
Himaruya seems to imply quite clearly that Alfred was born from the European settlers' sentiment of establishing their rule on American land. Reading these strips, I have a suspicion that the reason why Alfred doesn't have Arthur's thick eyebrows or in general he doesn't actually resemble him much physically, is because Alfred was born when there was simply a generic "European" desire to form strong communities overseas, but it wasn't clear yet which Country would eventually "win" and establish its egemony in American land. Most of those colonizing the North were of Germanic origin though (fully or partially), hence that would explain Hima's note on America's blood.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think this note kind of proves my theory, he's an "ingredient" because England's egemony didn't happen overnight and it wasn't the only Country owning colonies in Northern America back then.
... Then, over one century later, Alfred finally figures it out and lets Arthur take care of him for the time being.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We know this is happening roughly in the first half of the 18th Century thanks to this note, claiming that the fight between France and England that followed this event was happening at around the same time of the War of Austrian Succession (1740-1748) and the Seven Years' War (1756-1763):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This also shows that Alfred grew up pretty quickly for a Nation. Assuming England adopted him between the end of the 17th Century and the beginning of the 18th, Alfred was already a young man fighiting for his independence by 1775 (beginning of the American Revolutionary War). Basically the life-span of a longevous human being.

Sidereal Aries Characters in Fiction
The following are fictional characters that fit the Sidereal Aries archetype as described by @siderealmaven.
1. Korra
Tumblr media
Korra from the Legend of Korra is known for her proficiency in firebending at the beginning of Season 1. She knows how to use physical force and her willpower in order to create change in the world around her and believes that it is her duty to do so. Her main conflict is figuring out how to airbend and create change in circumstances where brute force doesn’t work. This is the opposite of her predecessor Aang, who was an airbender and struggled to learn firebending. Regardless of how much she tries to learn how to be like Aang from his son Tenzin, she has to forge her own connection to her airbending when her firebending is taken away by S1’s antagonist. There is no one who could teach her how to deal with that situation because no one she knows has ever experienced it before. This is a perfect example of how Aries is forced to forge their own path and learn to rely upon their own instincts. Throughout her arc, Korra goes from an overenthusiastic upstart to a battle honed warrior and experienced leader.
2. Katniss Everdeen
Tumblr media
Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games is the first person from District 12 to volunteer to participate in the Games. She does this in order to protect her younger sister who does not have the physical capabilities necessary to survive in the arena. During her time there, she breaks all of the rules and challenges the status quo. She forms an alliance with Rue and then holds a funeral for her when she dies, which in turn challenges the audience’s idea of who the enemy is and what winning really means. She also forms an alliance with Peeta and pretends to fall in love with him in order to save his life. This in turn changes the rules of the game and there are now two winners when there was only supposed to be one. Later on in the series when Katniss is turned into a symbol of the Capitol’s power, she uses her influences to lead a rebellion against it despite being coerced and punished at every turn. She shows over and over again how important it is to make personal sacrifices for the greater good, even when it could come at the cost of your life.
3. Hua Mulan
Tumblr media
Hua Mulan from Disney’s 1998 Animated Film is a woman who decides to take her father’s place in the Imperial Chinese army because she knows that if he goes to war, he will not survive due to his previous injuries that have left him disabled. She steals his armor and impersonates him, becoming the first woman (that we know of) to join the army, which is against the rules. What is so special about Mulan is that even though she does not have a mentor, she does have a spiritual guide in the form of a dragon named Mushu, sent to her by her ancestors. This is a symbol of how Aries may technically be physically alone, but spiritually can draw upon their own inner reserves of power that cannot be seen by others. Mulan is outed and abandoned by her military commander when she is injured after causing an avalanche in order to win a battle against the Huns. Because of this, she sees the Huns have survived and are on their way to invade the Emperor’s palace. This makes her the only one with the power to stop it. And she does, earning herself the honor of going down in history forever. The most heartfelt moment of this movie is at the end, when her Father welcomes her home with open arms.
What all of these characters exemplify perfectly, is what it means to take responsibility for yourself. Each one of these heroes has a unique set of skills born out of a unique life experience that only they have. This means there are challenges in their world that only they can take on and accomplish. There is only one avatar, one Katniss Everdeen, and one Mulan.
If they didn’t stand up, face their fears, and learn how to use their power, nothing could have ever changed at all. This is what is means to be Sidereal Aries!
