Aragorn
"The most babealicious version of Arthur there has ever been. He’s got the wizard, he’s got the hot lady love, he’s got the magic sword and the kingdom to reunite. Hate to see him charge the gates or Mordor but love to watch him walk away"
Martin the Warrior
"A wandering warrior who makes his fame conquering tyrannical despots with his iconic meteor-iron sword. His Guinevere didn’t cheat but she died and left him grief stricken. After he retires he founds a monastery which is the central location of the book series and his spirit haunts it/his sword for centuries, choosing heirs to defend it and drive out evil. Also, he is a mouse"

On your left, Butler and Artemis Fowl, from Artemis Fowl
But who are they?
artemis and butler are established very early on as having a very close relationship despite following the master/servant rules. the first book explicitly states that butler is the closest thing artemis has to a father (despite his father... being alive) and they kind of take turns saving eachothers lives despite the fact that only butler has any real obligation too artemis still moves heaven and earth to keep him alive, and butler tells artemis his first name despite the tradition between the two families being that they never know the butlers first name, butler tells artemis his bc butler thinks he going to die anyway (he doesnt) anyway this is So Long im sorry i just feel so strongly abt them.
On your right, Merlin and Arthur, from BBC Merlin
But who are they?
At the start of the show, Merlin saves Arthur’s life. He does that again and again for the rest of the show but this is basically the only time he is recognized for it. What does he get in reward? A job! As Prince Arthur’s manservant. Despite Merlin’s status as an underling, Arthur constantly puts his heart first and prioritizes Merlin above his other princely/kingly responsibilities. Merlin on the other hand, knows his destiny is tied to Arthur’s and does everything to save his life and preserve their shared future and the future of their kingdom. At the end of the series, Merlin reveals his magic - his deepest secret that he protected out of fear of betrayal - to Arthur as he dies. They are enemies to master/servant to besties who are also pretty much lovers. They are canonically referred to as “two sides of the same coin.”
They're the worst and I love them. Arthur starts out as the worst kind of conceited asshole, Merlin saves his life before fully considering the consequences which leads to him being made Arthur's servant, and they both absolutely hate each other. I wouldn't call it enemies to lovers because they're never really enemies and they're never really lovers but it's close enough that enjoyers of the trope would probably like the show anyways
So...

The Once And Future King In Yellow
Isn’t it strange, how we tell the same stories over and over again? There was a king, and his court was full of heroes, and there was peace in the land. There was enchantment, and desire, and peril, but in the end betrayal from within brought an end to the age. And when the kingdom’s need is greatest, he will return from sleeping in the lake.
The anthology of King Arthur could certainly find room for another tale. Once, there was a great tournament, and the ladies Camilla and Cassilda were to judge who was the most worthy knight. Many brave lords broke their lances that day, but one rider was more graceful than all others. A mystery knight, he bore a gold shield and wore a white helm worked in a strange fashion. “Now, sir,” Camilla declared, when the jousting was finished, “it is time to unmask, that we may see our champion.” And in the same way across a thousand stories, the stranger replied “I wear no mask.”
I’m not sure if this is an idea for Dark Ages Cthulhu or modern Call of Cthulhu. But I really feel like there’s some interesting parallels to draw between the King Arthur story and the various accessories of Hastur. Something about the idealized world they’re selling, and the imagery of water and royalty. Maybe try running a campaign where the King in Yellow is feeding on this iconic theme to make itself real in the world!

What I like about the Knights: Bedwyr/Bedivere
I have had brainworms about this man since I first read the scene in good old Morte when I was 14 years old where he lied about throwing Excalibur into the lake. TWICE. And he only tosses it in after Arthur straight up threatens to kill him if he tries that shit again. Iconic. As such most of my love for him stems from Malory's interpretation specifically, which is funny because this motherfucker is only in the last few chapters.
To expand a bit on him lying at the end. We don't really know WHY he didn't chuck it. We know he thinks it'd cause problems, but no specifics. Did he want to use it himself? Did he think it'd help the kingdom to keep around? Was it ultimately sentimental? Selfish or selfless? Who knows!
In the older works he pops up in, he notably doesn't have any outstandingly special powers unless you count him being really good with thrusting weapons, which I don't because A) it can be read as him just being really quick and precise (which I personally find a more interesting interpretation, hard work and skill honed over a long time is way cooler than magic), and B) he gets power-creeped hard - and even then most writers either don't know or forget he's really good with swords and spears. My mans had his thunder stolen BAD.
In fact, he was the OG Prettiest Guy Who Isn't Arthur(tm), but then more Prettiest Guys Who Aren't Arthur(tm) kept getting added. So he's, unfortunately, usually shoved into the background unless someone else (usually Kay) drags a spotlight over to him.
Sidenote, I fully believe that Bedwyr and Kay are married. But really I'm just happy any time they appear together. A lot of the time the knights don't really feel like they're even friends in the 'normal human' way instead of the 'operating under 10 layers of chivalry and posturing' way, and at the very least Kay and Bedwyr actually enjoy being around each other.
Also, this motherfucker was there FROM THE BEGINNING (both in-universe and as like... a concept (he predates Jesus by a few hundred years)) and is usually the last guy left alive. But he's never a major player in anything except chucking the sword in a lake at the end. At most he's helping Kay with something or doing his job. A job he did presumably well because he held his position as Marshall for several decades and only lost it because everybody mcfucking bit it all at once.
If you want to look through a metanarrative lens, he's cursed to witness events and never influence them, but he gets one act of agency at the very end, which he gives up out of either fear or loyalty. And his reward is that he's left alone with a flippant order from his king to do whatever he wants. A lifetime of service rendered completely null and void by the complete loss of everything and everybody that he's ever known.. A lifetime of service to a system that was ultimately the root cause of the tragedy. And goddammit that's some spicy stuff to work with.
Anyway, my grand thesis statement is this: He exists in a sweet spot where he'd be an excellent POV and can be built on without in any way upsetting preestablished characterization. He's a relatively normal guy among complete and total freaks of nature (affectionate) who manages to outlive all of them. And the few things that are relatively set-in-stone about him (Close to Kay, only has one hand, there from the beginning, chucks sword into lake) are enough of a foundation to make him really interesting. To summarize:

QUICK. DROP EVERYTHING. NEW HEADCANON DROPPED.
Shelby siblings’ favorite video games:
Tommy: Lego Star Wars: My man has completed the entire game and can now play it with his eyes shut. My boy knows where every mini kit and character icon is. He can dictate how to complete every stage to a very sick John. He owns every copy of the game (after the Wii version) and knows every strat imaginable. He’s competitive even when it comes to this. It s a really bad idea to play this with him if he’s playing through his favorite episodes (obviously Empire Strikes back and Revenge of the Sith), he will get waaaay to into it. (He’s also totally memorized every voice line)
John: FNAF: This man can get through anything, he has such a short attention span and he adores jumpscares so this is literally his favorite game ever. he would also totally be part of the fandom like, sir is arguing over the lore on the daily. this man picks apart every frame. he knows every reference, every detail, every little easter egg. he can complete ultimate custom night on the hardest settings without really paying attention. he hums Living Tombstone around his kids, Esme's ring tone for him is the "hor hor hor hor hor hor, hor hor hor hor, hor hor hor hor"
Arthur: Super Smash Bros (any version): its a healthier way to work through his anger. he has played this for over 10,000 hours by now. no one can stop him. he's become to powerful. not even tommy can stop him. (absolutely a incineroar main)
Ada: Literally any Legend of Zelda game: She would totally play these in her spare time and she knows how to fight every boss but also she has an inhuman amount of hours on both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Miss girl blows her money on these the day the release and she can speed run like no one's business. she absolutely had those encyclopedias that tell you all about the lore. the way that she deals with tommy's shit sometimes is to get him to play Legend of Zelda with her. she knows all the soundtrack and has the most massive playlist of it on her phone
Finn: Final Fantasy or Metal Gear Solid: This tiny little boy would absolutely be playing these religiously. he has tried to explain it his siblings but not even ada, who plays zelda, gets it. "Like what? guys its not that hard, [insert the weirdest sentence about the metal gear solid canon you can think of], see that's easy right?" Tommy got him the reunion of Final Fantasy 7 and it looked like he was in church during the theme song. finn once brought his switch on a trip and tommy passes by him playing FF7 and he just kinda blinked because finn was pouring over it and so intently playing. all the rest of the shelby siblings collectively shrug. finn hums both themes (the final fantasy one and metal gear) as much as possible around his siblings

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom 4K Ultra HD Review
Jason Momoa reprises his role as the King of the Seven Seas in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which comes 5 years after the original film was released. Once again Aquaman’s most notable rogue, Black Manta, is back seeking revenge for his deceased father. This time, Manta wields the power of the mythic Black Trident to unleash an ancient and sinister force. Hoping to end his reign of terror, Aquaman makes an unlikely alliance with his brother, Orm, the former king of Atlantis. Setting aside their differences, they join forces to protect their kingdom and save the world from irreversible destruction.
Tumblr media
I must admit, even though I consider myself a superhero aficionado, it has been 5 years since the first solo Aquaman flick hit the theaters and remembering certain details regarding the movie were hazy for me at best. Fortunately, there are flashbacks to some of the pertinent moments from the first outing. As in the original movie, there is a healthy dose of action and adventure sprinkled with some hit and miss humor. I enjoyed the unlikely bond between the brothers, and it is hard to argue that Black Manta is one of the most iconic super villains to hit the silver screen in a comic book flick in recent memory. Unfortunately, Manta is paired with a far less interesting character named Dr. Shin (Randall Park) and a collection of henchmen and women with little to no depth in this underwater adventure.
Tumblr media
The visuals of this film are the real treat, and with the 4K format they really shine. The underwater computer-generated sequences are particularly aesthetically pleasing, but I really wish this movie stuck to scenes beneath the sea. There are tons of incredibly interesting creatures in the ocean that an Aquaman movie has yet to tap into. A number of times the movie gets caught trying to copy other films, particularly Star Wars, however, this movie lacks the interesting intertwining plot points and character development of the sci-fi classic. Even with the beautiful 4K eye candy most of its visuals project, there are the occasional, (Joss Whedon) Justice League-esque CGI that leaves you wondering, “where did that come from?”. I also did not care for Aquaman being out of his classic orange and green costume for most of the movie, as I felt that it robbed me of that superhero feel.

VIDEO QUALITY 📽️ :  A
The 2160p transfer looks glorious, even with the aforementioned lackluster CGI in a few limited sequences. This liquid beauty really carry the visual end of this film.
AUDIO QUALITY 🔈 : A
The Dolby Atmos English: Dolby TrueHD 7.1 (48kHz, 24-bit) really is a treat for the listener at home. The dialogue is clear, and the action sequences are bombastic as you are immersed deep into the sea of this film.
EXTRAS 📀 :  B
Included with this single disc release is a Digital Copy and several video extras listed below:
Finding the Lost Kingdom (21:22) - Jason Momoa, director James Wan, DC honcho Jim Lee, production design Bill Brzeski, and other key members of the cast and crew are your guides at this usually scenic behind-the-scenes featurette, which includes bits and pieces of on-set footage and others supportive clips.
Aquaman: Worlds Above and Below (9:39) - A like-minded look at various locales on both sides of the surface that covers special effects, location shoots, and Aquaman lore by way of a few vintage comics.
Atlantean Blood is Thicker than Water (4:17) - A short but sweet look at the history of Arthur and his half-brother Orm, again with some comics history and short interviews with Momoa and Patrick Wilson.
It's a Manta World (10:08) - Another character-focused featurette, this short piece sits down with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and others to speak about David Kane, Black Manta, the power suit, and more.
Necrus, the Lost Black City (5:51) - James Wan, producer Peter Safran, Bill Brzeski, and others chat briefly about the titular lost kingdom, its visual creation, and its history in the franchise.
Escape from the Deserter World (8:05) - Another like-minded featurette about the location -- or in this case, sequence -- featured in the film, a handful of familiar faces share about its creation and execution while being supported by behind-the-scenes footage, concept art, rehearsals, costume and set design, and more.
Brawling at Kingfish's Lair (4:07) - A quick look at one of the film's many visually overloaded action scenes and some of the goofier details and supporting characters featured in it.
Oh, Topo! (2:12) - And speaking of goofy supporting characters, this short and light-hearted tribute acts as an appreciation and highlight reel for everyone's favorite comedy relief cephalopod.
FINAL GRADE: C-
The only real emotions drawn from this bloated outing are the reconciliation between two brothers and the love for their mother. Aquaman should have submerged deeper into the sea, instead of trying to mimic the tales of old from the land above.

10 fandoms, 10 characters
@lonnson thank you for the tag! One character per fandom requirement is so cruel:( But here we go!
Matthew Crawley (Downton Abbey)
Have never felt so emotionally attached to a character, either before or after him.
Tumblr media
Samwise Gamgee (The Lord of the Rings)
I don`t even know what comment to add here. Except maybe that every dictionary entry for "ride-or-die" should include a pic of him.
Tumblr media
Will Graham (NBC Hannibal)
Certified murder babygirl - and certified mindfucker (good thing Hannibal is into this). Seriously, spectacular character. Most of the time I don`t get him (neither does Hugh Dancy, as per his own words, and that`s comforting). Actually that`s precisely Will`s shtick: no one understands him completely, no one ever could - including himself.
Tumblr media
King Alfred the Great (The Last Kingdom)
One of the best-written and best-acted characters I`ve ever seen on screen. A great example of gentleness and ruthlessness, greatness and flawedness combined in one person to create a character so real and believable it feels he might just step into our world at any given moment.
Tumblr media
Death (Terry Pratchett`s Discworld)
I just want to have a nice long chat with him.
Tumblr media
The Joker (The Dark Knight)
Nothing groundbreaking to say here: perfect character, perfect acting. Wholeheartedly agree with Gary Oldman, it feels like Heath was channelling something not exactly from our world.
Tumblr media
Kylo Ren/Ben Solo (Star Wars)
Two things to say here: I love him and Fuck TRoS.
Tumblr media
Eames (Inception)
Ohh, such a treat of a character! That was my introducton to Tom Hardy, and it couldn`t have been a better one. Also, yes, I have a bit of a competence kink, just like Arthur.
Tumblr media
Aemond Targaryen (Fire and Blood/House of the Dragon)
A case of a character becoming iconic from his first seconds on screen. Ewan`s Aemond has that something that makes it literally impossible to tear one`s eyes from him.
Tumblr media
Nina Zenik (Six of Crows/Shadow and Bone)
My Heartrender Queen💕 While writing-wise I absolutely prefer book!Nina, Danielle is perfect. Her Nina feels so vibrant and alive that it`s hard to grasp she doesn`t really exist.
