So I had this guy, Jude’s partner, sitting in my drafts and I decided why not just get him out already since I’ll need him to write stories for the demon hunters when I get around to that.

Appearance Description: Zach is a young man with olive/tan skin, dark brown curly hair, and one dark brown eye. His other eye is gone, replaced with a black eyepatch. Usually has a bit of scratchy stubble. He is athletic and sturdy.

Notable Features: Missing his right eye. Has scars all over his body and face, many from the ‘incident’ that occurred 5 years ago. One of his fingers even has barely even feeling at all left in it, since he had to reattach it. Usually wears a nice watch. He owns a dark beaded rosary which he uses to pray.
Personality: A generally confident and laid-back man, his penchant for frivolity hides how passionate and dedicated he is to his job. He’s a charming man and is quite the smooth talker when he wants to be. He prefers to take concrete action rather than just talking about it though, and he isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty if need be. Unlike Jude, his reaction to his trauma was to become colder and more cynical than he was previously. After the ‘incident’ he changed as well, although he became no less determined to exterminate demons. In fact, his hatred for demonic entities is so strong he can be rather sadistic in torturing and killing them. He genuinely cares about doing the right thing, even if sometimes his methods are extreme. He is a religious man, though you might not think it from all his drinking and laisseiz-faire attitude.

He can speak a bit of Spanish but he isn’t completely fluent. His father is Irish so he actually can speak a bit of that too.
He’s a heavy smoker, and he tends to rely on it for stress relief. He began smoking when he was young, behind the backs of his father and mentor (who knew but just didn’t say anything). It was half peer pressure and half trauma response.
His reason for hating Winter isn’t like Jude’s, although he was traumatised by the incident as well (it’s how he lost his eye). He just hates the cold weather and nuisances that come with it.
He got his dislike of cats from his aunt, who prejudiced him against them when he was younger. He mostly just thinks they are all very cold and mean, it’s not that he would ever hurt them or anything. He’s not that kind of person.
His mom, Isabel, was originally a demon hunter stationed in Columbia before she moved to America to fight an influx of demonic entities popping up. That’s where she married and had Zach. Unfortunately, she died alongside many others when they went to exterminate a witchcult in Massachusetts years ago…
He later was possessed by a demon and his father, desperate to save him, called up an associate of Isabel, a demon hunter named Nathaniel Hopkins, to help him. He did indeed exorcise the demon, and Nathaniel later would become his mentor before he died.
The experience with this demon, along with the death of his mother, is what created a good deal of hatred inside him.
He is more of a ranged fighter than Jude, and he’s a great shot with his guns too. (he favours pistols/revolvers and shotguns) If he needs to get up close and personal for any reason he’ll probably use an axe/hatchet. He has all different kinds of bullets for fighting different creatures. And this is all despite having impaired vision
He and Jude are a part of a division known as the ‘Sunseekers.’ That’s all I’ll say for now.
He always wears an old trenchcoat he inherited from his mentor after he died. It has all sorts of little pockets to carry his demon hunting stuff in.
Although he is a man of God, he is also pretty self-aware and recognises himself as a man of many vices. Particularly with the booze…
Because of this, when he’s going to churches in various towns and cities he passes through, he’ll sometimes go into the confessional booths.
He’s a pretty good cook on his off time, and he used to make dinners for him and his dad when he was younger.
He is inspired both by the ‘noir detective’ stereotypes and by cowboy bounty hunters. Also a little by Ash Williams.
His mentor, Nathaniel Hopkins, is also a completely shameless expy of Samuel Loomis. Nathaniel also got his last name from the ‘Witchfinder General,’ Matthew Hopkins.

Duneeater & Planet of the 8s Team Up for a Big Sound on ‘Turned to Stone: Chapter V′
~Doomed & Stoned Debuts~

Get ready for a big sound from two massive bands from Down Under sharing the same cylinder for a two-way split as 'Turned To Stone: Chapter V' (2022) brings you DUNEEATER and PLANET OF THE 8s! The Ripple Music series has had some terrific pairings over the years, but this volume is absolutely brilliant. I hope you're listening with a good pair of headphones, or at least have your car stereo system ready for a long, loud drive into oblivion, because this record is indeed a smooth ride down to the Highway to Hell.
Tires peel out for "Twin Voyager," which makes for a big opener after the short but arresting, "Dusk Part 2," which is a real cruiser. The band did music video for "Pleather Sex," and its desert rockin' vibes make it a swell playlist pal with Kyuss, Truckfighters, Dozer, and Mountains of Madness.
"C.O.B.R.A." is a badass stoner-blues romper that makes me wonder whether these guys grew up with the same G.I. Joe comics I did, fighting as they did with their eternal enemy Cobra Commander and his henchmen of doom. The song's got a lot of bounce, and it rumbles and tumbles along until I'm irresistibly pulled into headbanging mode as we drive towards "Dawn Part I" (aka "Devil Dodgers"). It's a real asphalt-ripper.
Planet of the 8s carries the vibe along into "Dawn Part 2" on the record's flip-side. The smooth delivery of the lyrics, in sync with a groovy rhythm, reminds me of Depeche Mode for some reason (that's always a good thing). The vocal harmonies are quite effective (at times approaching worshipful), supported by deep musicianship, beautiful melodic instincts, and a grungy, bittersweet guitar solo.
"Raised By Night" is a rainy number, with bombastic drums and melancholy riffmaking. The smooth vocals contrast so well with the groovy rhythm, leading up to one of those great choruses you'll find yourself singing along with (perhaps unconsciously). The climax is one of those exalted moments in rock that you want to freeze and revisit over and over.
After another convincing track ("Gravity"), the record closes on "Dusk Part I" -- and just like that we're back to start, in a kind of time loop. It's a good hint to listen to it all again on repeat. Believe me, you will want to get lost in this record. Not hard to see why both these bands are on the rise.
Turned to Stone, Chapter V is a powerful collaboration from two of the heavy rock scene's most extraordinary artists. Look for its release this Friday, August 8th, on Ripple Music -- dropping in digital as well as several variants of vinyl (pre-order here).

only you know you. not even my husband knows me. he is just know getting to know me, only because I started to get to know me. This particular part of this process helps me listen and learn about people better.
I like asking questions with sustenance. I lose willpower for your run of the mill questions. Obviously there are a million answers easily found on the internet. But who is asking questions? Never stop asking questions.
I saw the cop again today. I walked quietly behind him smoking a cigarette, but his instincts already knew that. I got to talk to him a little about being an officer. It was vibes. I love walking home with my neighbors. His wife might be a little PG for me but, she’s a sweetheart and I like her.
My rage has not shown its face,

North American Tour: 1000mods & The Well Live @ Bogg's Social & Supply
1000mods is a doom/heavy/stoner metal band from Chilimodi, Greece that formed in 2006, 1000mods consists of Dani G. (vocals/bass), Giannis S. (guitar), Labros G. (drums), and Giorgos T. (guitar). They have released four (4) LPs (Youth of Dissent being the latest release), three (3) EPs, two (2) singles, and one (1) split. If you are a fan of bands like Kyuss, Truckfighters, or Fu Manchu, then 1000mods is the band for your musical tastes.
On July 18, 2023 (just a few days after my birthday), 1000mods announced more dates for their North American Tour 2023 with opening support from Freedom Hawk, Valley of the Sun, Wizzerd, and The Well. For their Atlanta date, The Well (Austin) would be the opening support. What makes this tour very special for me is not only do I get to see a Greek band that I have been wanting to see for ages and who does not tour often in North America.
But I also get to see The Well who I have missed the last few years when they have played Atlanta, but the stars were finally aligned for me in 2023. I feel rather fortunate this year to have witnessed some amazing tours such as this one featuring 1000mods and The Well. Having the opportunity to cross two bands off your “must-see” list is special, especially in such an intimate venue as Bogg’s Social & Supply.

The Well is a psychedelic doom/proto-metal power trio from Austin, Texas that formed in 2011. The Well has released three (3) LPs, two (2) EPs, one (1) split, and three (3) singles. The Well consists of Lisa Alley (bass/vocals), Ian Graham (guitar/vocals), and Jason Sullivan (drums). I randomly found The Well scrolling through Bandcamp artists sometime after the release of Pagan Science (2016).
The Well’s sound was like a mixture of Black Sabbath, Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats, and Acid King. The Well’s doomy sound had me hooked after my first listen to Pagan Science. Samsara (2014) and Death and Consolation (2019) are also incredible albums that you can listen to and not skip a single track. Now I finally get to witness The Well perform live and what a venue to accomplish this achievement in.

Children of Atom has recently released a new work: "Endless Night"
March 2023 - Children of Atom is a band with a direct and one-of-a-kind focus on making music that blurs the lines between different genres, such as grunge, stoner and punk. The band’s work is a balanced crossroads where all of the above meet, and then some! the group's most recent release, "Endless Night", is a perfect example. The song instantly kicks off with a soaring guitar riff, which instantly cuts through the mix. The drums are big and powerful, yet astonishingly articulate, bringing a high degree of detail to the mix, along with the deep thump of the bass. The vocals are big and powerful, yet very melodic and detailed.
In addition, the production quality lends the song an aura of credibility and professionalism. The aesthetics of the recording are a perfect match with the mood of this release. "Endless Night" feels very genuine and it stands out as an authentic portrait of Children of Atom’s artistic vision and personality overall. This is highly recommended to fans of artists such as Alice In Chains, Cloud Nothings, Dead Rituals, Audioslave, and Kyuss, only to mention a few.

With influences raging from ZZ Top, Killing Joke, Kyuss to The Melvins, HELLFIRE 76 delivers a sound sure to satisfy Doom, Stoner and Psych Rock fans alike! Formed by founding members Von Bury (formerly of the Southern Gothic act LOVESUCKER and the Occult Rock act and Napalm Recording artist BLOODY HAMMERS) and Mike McGuiness (formerly of the Industrial Metal act FACE THE WORLD), HELLFIRE 76 set out to create a brand of Southern Metal that has been missing for quite some time. Starting as a 2 pc, the duo wrote and recorded about a dozen songs before the addition of Bolo Johnson. Sadly, Bolo had to leave the band due to health concerns. Rather than replace their brother, they decided to return to being a 2pc band until his return. Their 1st self-titled EP was produced and recorded by Rob Tavaglione at Catalyst Recording, Charlotte, NC.
