spralbert thoughts for a chronically bored person?

Okay so Spralbert is one of my #1 ships. I love them with all my heart.

Albert and Race have so much chemistry together in Livesies, and Spot and Race have infinite chemistry in 92sies.

Ummmm I'm not sure what all you're asking for, so here are my thoughts on Spralbert things

Albert almost always sleeps in the middle. He's always cold, and he's the most insecure in the relationship. He felt very disconnected for a long time. Race and Spot just seemed to click, and he felt like an afterthought for so, so long. Which is kinda ridiculous because Albert and Race got together first.

Race and Albert got together when Race was sick, post-strike. Albert had been taking care of him, and was very very worried. Race wasn't talking much, Al thought this boy was dying. He couldn't do much more than sleep. About a week into it, he was pressing a cool cloth to Race's head, and Race's eyes cracked open and he just murmured "heya handsome". Albert promptly smacked him for scaring him. He then kissed him in his relief, and got his dumbass sick too. He didn't mind being able to cuddle with Race for a few days.

Race and Albert added Spot into the mix a few weeks later. They were talking to Spot in Brooklyn. They'd been flirting back and forth for a while. Cracking jokes and teasing. Albert and Spot were play fighting on this particular day. Albert (even though he's shorter than Spot) said something along the lines of "You're so short I bet you're a bottom and haven't made a move on anybody" and Spot, obviously said he had (whether that's true or not remains a mystery) and the argument got more and more heated and Spot eventually took Albert by the suspenders and kissed him. Albert almost soaked him because my feller is right there you absolute jackass and Race had to physically pull him away so they could talk about things. It took them three days to make a decision. They returned with an offer that Spot couldn't (and didn't want to) refuse

On the topic of height. Race is obviously the tallest: 5'7 (170.18 cm) Spot is the middle: 5'3 (160.02 cm) Albert is the shortest: 4'10 (147.32 cm)

They go on dates in Brooklyn mostly, because even non-newsies know not to mess with Spot Conlon.

They still don't kiss or hold hands in public, but they will go have lunch between editions or they'll sit on the bridge and talk for hours on end.

Spot is the only one allowed in the kitchen. Race and Albert once tried to make him dinner as a surprised and almost burned the kitchen down boiling water.

Albert has a little weighted stuffed elephant that they gave him that he cuddles every night.

Racer is the one to make most of the big financial decisions. He's better with numbers than the other two.

If they were able to get married and change names, Race and Spot would fight over whose last name gets used. Albert's home life was strained (at best), especially when he came out to his dad and brothers, and he kind of wants to disconnect from his family.

Finally a fellow tsats appreciator. I get so annoyed at all the TSATS hate on this site. The characters are cringe (affectionate). The pop culture references make no sense with the timeline sometimes but that was never the point in this universe, it's just meant to be fun for kids! re: your thoughts on doctor who 2023 specials

I do absolutely agree with a lot of your critiques, there's a lot more charm in the doctor just walking into an unguarded UNIT shed and stealing one of their like presumably 3 automobiles than the aesthetics of what's going on in the new specials and the way the doctor shifts to being so wholeheartedly for-UNIT (only dissent he gives is a throw away line in the star beast about how they're not always on the same side) feels insanely fucking off even considering something like the the Zygon Invasion where sure he did threaten a lot of people but he still wasn't *taking sides* on it

One place I do disagree with you tho is that honestly it makes sense for unit to have way more power/funding, and I think that the amount of support unit has gotten almost directly correlates to the chronology of interactions the human race has with aliens In my eyes, UNIT starts to get funding after the slitheen shit, where aliens kill a bunch of major politicians and nearly kill the prime-minister-elect, who then decides to start pouring money into an anti-alien army Christmas Invasion then intensifies this, and as aliens begin to appear to be more and more of a threat, the human race leans into their only defense against them

I absolutely agree that the extent to which this military force is glorified by the show is really absurd and feels incredibly wrong, but in-universe it does make sense (to me, at least) for most human characters (not the doctor) to support UNIT and want to give it funding n such

i mean my concern with UNIT appearing more well-funded & equipped & resourced and so on isn't so much that i think it "doesnt make sense", it makes perfect sense (as much as anything in doctor who, a show famous for discarding its own continuity whenever it feels like it, can make sense). the issue isn't that i don't believe UNIT could have an avengers tower, it's that them having it makes them much less sympathetic to me as a viewer, because a poorly resourced slapdash gang of twelve guys with a goofy sign outside their top secret headquarters saying WARNING: TOP SECRET HEAD QUARTERS is both more of an underdog and easier to separate from the real life british military than what UNIT has since become

Second of all: My first thought went to The Spine due to Roller Skate king.

I find Roller Skate King to be a unique song in terms of their Hero songs because it deviates from the original formula quite a bit. If you listen to Captain Albert Alexander, Rex Marksley, and Airheart back to back, you’ll notice that they have a really similar structure. But this song is much different, focusing mainly on how cool the Roller Skate King is rather than his life story. Also the genre. It all makes that song seem like a massive tribute to Roller Skate King rather than just another story. Also, “Roller Skate King, knight me if you can, 'cause I wanna roll with you across the land”

I THINK IT’S SAFE TO ASSUME HE ADMIRES THE GUY AT LEAST

I think he’d wear simple black and red skates since those are his favorite colors canonically. Maybe he’ll put a little glitter on the red parts if he wants to spruce it up a bit. But only a modest amount.

Zer0 might canonically have roller skates if you consider the Not Live and Not in Person! show canon. They’re mentioned during the whole, The Spine is stealing all of Zer0’s wheels segment.

I like to think he’d go for a purplish blueish colored skate. I guess I associate that with the Lyin’ Awake music video more than anything else, but that palette suits him. He would like that they stand out under black light. He would also try putting glitter on, but he wouldn’t be nearly as neat and as careful as The Spine would be. It’d get everywhere.

Honorable mention: Hatchworth I feel like isn’t much of a skater, but he does love his Heelys.

The others I feel like the others would enjoy skating, but wouldn’t really be too into it.

Rabbit wouldn’t go out of her way to roller skate, but wouldn’t mind joining her siblings. She’d still have a good time. She’d like those vintage looking skates with the dull colors and the few curvy lines from the back of the skate to the center. Of course, she won’t be afraid to add her own personal changes. She might prefer blades over skates.

The Jon would probably be the most likely to skate around unprompted. Not necessarily because he loves it, though he probably does, but more because he likes to be unpredictable. He’d wear black skates with a simplified rainbow pattern plastered on the sides.

Upgrade is more into, what she considers superior, ice skating. Though she is a bit out of practice. She would find herself imaging it more than doing it. She’d wear pretty pink skates, complete with satin textured ankles.

sasha is a great character and her relationship with jon was clearly warm and meant a lot to him. i love the aftereffects that her death and replacement send through the narrative. but she (by virtue of being a woman and of being alive for only 40 episodes) has been squashed down into the UBIQUITOUS "fandom mom" trope of being "the only competent one" or "the only one with the brain cell" which is every progressive fandom denizen's favorite way of removing an annoying woman character from the equation by sanding off all of her flaws, complexities, and dimension in favor of making her an emotionless, hypersmart, capable, independent robot.

who needs female characters with characteristics when we can instead talk about how much we love women by making them totally featureless. j'adore!!!
