my friend and i were talking about our own xmen movie lineups and we talked about a solo scottemma movie after dark phoenix set right before astonishing and i cant think of anything else atm cause. 1) it would be about scott, grief and transition to leader of mutantkind™ 2) it would be about emma and self-forgiveness 3) it'd be 2 hours of them running around some villain while trying to label their relationship after the affair 4) they're gonna put on these hippie costumes at some point in the plot 5) its gonna be funny as hell (imagine the marketing) 6) HIPPIE COSTUMES

The Abomination (Tim Roth) may have a bigger future in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe than fans realized. Marvel already announced that Abomination and his alter ego, Emil Blonsky, was cast in She-Hulk on Disney+. However, the gamma-powered monster’s surprise appearance in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings indicates the Abomination will have an even greater presence in the MCU than first thought.

Abomination has only made one MCU appearance in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk but the massive brute has the distinction of being the second supervillain in the MCU after Jeff Bridges’ Obediah Stane/Iron Monger in Iron Man. Abomination’s human side, Emil Blonsky, was a British Royal Marine working for General Thaddeus Ross (William Hurt). Ross enhanced Blonsky with the Super Soldier Serum but he was still no match for the Hulk (Edward Norton). Blonsky then infused himself with Bruce Banner’s gamma-irradiated blood, which mutated Blonsky into the creature dubbed the Abomination. However, the Hulk defeated Abomination in Harlem and escaped capture. The Abomination was apprehended and held in cryo-stasis within S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Alaska facility called the Vault. That was the last time fans saw the Abomination, although he was mentioned in the Marvel One-Shot titled The Consultant. The World Security Council intended to release Blonsky so he could be part of the Avengers but that plan was foiled in favor of the Hulk joining the Avengers instead.

Shang-Chi shows the Abomination cage fighting against Doctor Strange’s Wong (Benedict Wong), Doctor Strange’s partner as part of Xialing’s underground fight club. In the MCU timeline, it’s been about 15 years since Abomination was last seen in Phase 1 and while he was left in the cryo-prison The Vault, he’s now in the Raft, as briefly shown when Wong takes him back in the wake of their fight. How that change of location happened is unclear, but since Tim Roth is also reprising Blonsky and Abomination in She-Hulk, it may be revealed when he eventually meets Banner’s cousin, Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), and play what’s been described as “a significant role” in the show. The Abomination was also, of course, a major league villain who possesses Hulk-levels of power, making him “a 30-megaton nuke” on the loose, in Secretary of State Ross’ verbiage.

The advent of She-Hulk Disney+ TV show allows Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk/Bruce Banner to continue playing major supporting roles in other MCU properties and it opened the door for Tim Roth’s long-awaited comeback as the Abomination.

Whether the Abomination will further appear in the MCU is unclear, but there are questions off the back of how Wong interacts with the hulking monster. That seems to suggest that Wong has been training him and that the pair have an established camaraderie, rather than being enemies. Following on from the Phase One plan to bring him in as an Avenger, Abomination could potentially be a possibility for the next iteration of the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers 5 and he could also be recruited by Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis Dreyfuss) to join the new team she recruited U.S. Agent John Walker (Wyatt Russell) for in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Since there’s a relationship with Wong already, some fans speculate that Abomination could possibly impact Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Either way, the Abomination is on the verge of a major comeback after sitting out MCU Phases 2 and 3.

Colossus and Kitty Pryde deserve to be together. Now I was introduced to Colosuss after watching Deadpool and instantly fell head over heels in love. He is a big ol good hearted Russian Boyscout and that makes me happy. That's *my* kink, large big boys with hearts of gold.

Sidenote: dont read further if you dont want your heart torn asunder.

Spoilers for X-Men Gold Issue 30 under the cut-- although personally if you're like me you'll be bored throughout all of it waiting for colossus x kitty moments. So go read it, but I only really recomend issue 30 (or 31 depending on when the wedding happens)

So. Um. Listen, Colossus is perfect in every way- obviously. But Kitty Pryde is also literally my favorite comic book character

* she has that rough and tumble skater girl attitude (that's literally the best way I could describe it)

* her heart's always the right place

* she doesnt take bs from anyone especially Emma Frost

* in a fair world shes be a bi-icon with all the almost romances she had with people like Ilyana Rasputin

* shes pretty as hell

* literally a computer genius. Gimme that women in STEM representation. Yes girl

* I love her I'm sorry this is irrelivant

Now my first full comic series was Joss Whedon's Astonishing XMen where I was introduced to a storyline where Colossus is given a love interest who for whatever reason fits in all the right ways. The chemistry between these two is pallitable. I digress

Now imagine my shock when I find out that these two have been on and goddamned off since c.1970s. The amount of times they've gotten together then broken up rivals something out if a telenovella.

So when finally *FINALLY* fans were told a wedding was a-coming between these two, you can imagine my absolute joy.

BUT NOOOOO. We Xmen fans arent allowed to have nice things. Joy is for Fantastic 4 fans and no one else. What we got was emotional turmoil and pain and heartache as once more this pai of love birds split.

I have half the mind to write my own love story between the two because goddamit. I want their happiness.

I had an unusually large pull list this week, for me at least. There's so much I'm excited about! All-New Wolverine is starting it's final arc before Laura goes back under the X-23 title. I have Strong Feelings about that, but we'll get back to that later. I'm excited for what Old Woman Laura adds to the mythos. • Green Lanterns is starting a new arc as well. The green lantern ring chose Jessica Cruz because she has the ability to overcome great fear, and part of her growth has been learning that courage means acting despite fear, not without it. I get the sense that this arc will explore her struggle with anxiety even more, and I'm interested in how that pans out. • I'm excited every time a new issue of Elsewhere comes out. The premise is that Amelia Earhart disappeared into an alternate dimension and she has to find her way back. So that's pretty great. • Isola is brand new! I don't know much about it to be honest, but I like the art! Top 5 Marvel Runs

Made one for DC so decided to make one for marvel

1. Walter Simonson’s The Mighty Thor. I could rant forever on how this is the greatest thing Marvel has produced but the short version it is. It is pretty self contained, only crossover occasionally and even then it works, Simonson’s art is a perfect fit for Thor and his writing is excellent and EPIC. He introduced Beta Ray Bill who is my favorite male Marvel character and manages to make all the characters interesting and entertaining. If you are a Thor fan you owe it to yourself to check it out. Thor in general tends to be one of my favorite franchises Marvel has, with the JMS run introduced me to the character and helped get me into buying trades. Also related because I feel they are 2 runs that come close to capturing the magic of the Simonson’s run are Gillen’s JIM and Ewing’s Agent of Asgard, which made Loki into one of my favorite characters.

2. Xmen. I fucking love Xmen. The classic Claremont stuff is probably my favorite though I just love mutants in general. The original Astonishing Xmen run helped get me into comics. There is a ton of Xmen stuff I still need to read but if I had to give some of my faves I would go with Bunn’s Magneto, the Laura Kinney solo stuff (who is one of my favorite female Marvel characters), classic New Mutants, Excalibur, x-factor, Spider Man and the Xmen, Xmen ‘92, and of course Classic Claremont Uncanny. My current favorite runs are All New Wolverine and Xmen Red. If I were to name the definitive Xmen story it would be “God Loves Man Kills” and I think every comic fan should read it.

3. Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel. I would call Kamala the definitive Marvel hero. The way the series balances super hero shenanigans with real world issues and how they play off each other is brilliant and how I tend to define marvel heroes. The art tends to be good to brilliant, the writing is good though unfortunately I wish the series was more self-contained because the crossovers really bring the series down. The characters are entertaining and endearing. It is an over all excellent series.

4. NEXTWAVE Agents of HATE. The superhero comic genre distilled in it’s purest form in all the zaniness that implies. Good art, hilarious writing, and thanks to Al Ewing CANON. Though it is nicely self contained. If you have not read it, check it out.

5. Spider Man, sort of. My enjoyment of Spider Man tends to rely on 2 things: it’s Peter Parker dating/married to Mary Jane Watson, ideally with a kid and he is written like an adult when he is supposed to be an adult. There are exceptions to this but yeah the best Spider Man stuff to me is the 1998 Spider Girl and 2017 Renew Your Vows series. Why yes I hate OMD and I tend avoid modern Peter Parker stuff written since. The 90′s Spider Man animated series was my introduction to the character and helped spark my love of superheros. I am kind of neutral towards Miles Morales, I enjoyed the Jason Reyonalds book but I have not read any of the solo comic stuff because I don’t read Bendis books, but with him going to DC and a new writer going onto Miles books I will start checking Miles out.

Honorable mentions go to MOON KNIGHT, Gwenpool (yes really), Power Pack, Runaways, Priest Black Panther, DNA GOTG, Planet Hulk, the Lady Sif JiM series, Ewing Avengers, Ewing Ultimates, Hickman Fantastic Four and Moon Girl Devil Dinosaur.
