A lot of the times when I listen to Japanese songs I forget it's japanese and instead think it's Assamese. Feels weird and extremely silly when I remember that its actually Japanese.

#doesn't help that i cant understand either languages well #especially when its more axomiya than Assamese #sometimes i feel terrible that i cant speak my own language properly #my own

Just posted my last (i guess) part for the Assamese language series on my langblr side blog @bongboyblog . Yayyy!😅

I realized there weren't many langblrs on the Indian languages languages like Assamese (which has a significantly big population)! So I thought I might as well post something. I've always loved the Axomiya (endonym for Assamese) language for how cool it sounds. I do speak a certain Assamese dialect however the official language is pretty difficult for me to grasp hahaha..

Also, as I've already mentioned in one of my posts... as tensions still exist in the Northeast against the Bengali language (some tribals think it's a danger to their indigenous cultures or languages), I just wanted to point out that Bengalis don't dislike the other local cultures or something. The languages n ethnicities can coexist and flourish like they have for centuries!!😁

Ohh and I wanna thank my friend Ani for helping me with the Assamese language posts. He's a great buddy too, if you're reading this, thanks bruh!

(It's always better to have a native speaker to help u out u know; online translations n dictionaries aren't quite as helpful. )

Ohh well then, gonna get my half-yearly results tomorrow... too tensed... so... goodnight ^_^

I was reading something in Assamese last night and I came across this really cool idiom:

বাঘোৰ লেঙুৰেদি কাণ খুজ।

(bāghûr leṅuredi kān khuj)

Which means:

To scratch your ear with a tiger's tail.

And I guess it indicates doing something wickedly audacious xd.

The বাংলা version would be:

বাঘের লেজ দিয়ে কান চুলকানো।

(bāgher lej diye kān culkāno)

Nice one, right?
