this is so incredibly self indulgent because i see ningguang, ei and kafka in the same sentence and explode. everyone pretend i didnt accidentally pick a fav here um

ningguang i already see as a pillow princess more than anything she fits this so well. absolutely adores going slow + worship. treat this woman like royalty and lord you will not regret it. she goes all out to make the night as perfect as possible. will not let you have a hand in any of it sorry!! this is her turf. perfect atmosphere suited to your tastes (tons of candles, if you like that, or just going by moonlight is also her style). incense, taking a few minutes beforehand just to really get settled in the mood (usually by cuddling, but shes not against just taking a moment for some tea or even a game of chess).

kafka is similar to miko, imo. maybe yelan too?? she gives off big brat vibes when she subs. she wont use suggestion in bed unless your 100% cool with it and even then its usually when she doms but when she subs? shes a menace. bit of a masochist, to be honest. she'll push your buttons until you crack and decide to punish her but woops, thats just what she wants so she wins anyway!

she cant feel fear but she certainly enjoys a good thrill. specifically sensory deprivation. cover her eyes with a blindfold and keep her guessing. its probably her favorite part, the closest she can get to fear. especially if you add a bit of pain into it.

Topological Spaces 2: Topologies and Continuity

Welcome to the second post in my introductory series to topology! The goal today is to give the definition of both topological spaces and continuous maps between them. These definitions will be very familiar from the last post so I highly recommend reading it here.

I do make brief reference to some constructions from linear algebra and abstract algebra however these aren't necessary for understanding the post. They are merely inserted for futher emphasis for those who are familiar.

2.1: Topological Spaces

In the last post, we saw that open sets are potentially a structure that we wish to study. Our definition will be in terms of properties we wish open sets to have without invoking any notion of a distance between point. Fortunately, open sets in metric spaces have properties which fit this exactly in the form of Lemma 1.11. We shall use these to give our definition of a topological space!

Definition 2.1:

We can show by induction that finite intersections of open sets are open. This property is equivalent to (T3), but (T3) is usually an easier property to check.

We can have different topologies on the same set as we shall see in the examples!

Examples 2.2:

Remarks:

The topology on ℝ induced by the absolute value metric is called the standard topology on ℝ. Similarly, The topology induced by the Euclidean norm on ℝⁿ is called the standard topology on ℝⁿ.

The discrete topology is actually the same topology as the topology induced by the discrete metric. The proof involves showing that every singleton set (set that contains one element) is open in X with the discrete metric. Then use Lemma 1.11 to conclude that every set is open in X with the discrete metric.

Just like how some metrics can't be realised as the metric induced by a norm (and how some norms can't be realised as the norm induced by an inner product), not all topologies can be realised as the topology induced by a metric. A topology which can realised as the topology induced by a metric is called metrizable. The area of study dedicated to classifying metrizable spaces is called metrization theory and is very rich (and very much beyond the scope of these posts)

Both the indiscrete topology and the topology in 4) are non-metrizable. We shall see a proof of this in a future post.

One thing we may want to do is to make new topological spaces out of old ones. We don't yet have enough theory developed to do much but one easy construction we may do is putting a topology on subsets of our topology space:

Now we have defined what a topology is, we may finally generalise the notion of continuity! Our guide will be Lemma 1.12.

Continuity very much depends on the topology.

This really is a generalisation of continuity since Lemma 1.12 says that for metric spaces this notion is equivalent to our ε-δ definition (Definition 1.3)

We shall now see some examples in the form of the following proposition:

Proposition 2.5:

Now we shall define a special kind of continuous map: homeomorphisms. You may have heard of these from pop maths, especially in the context of a coffee mug and a donut being "the same" to a topologist.

Not only are homeomorphisms bijections between the sets, they also induce a bijection between the topologies:

This means that in some sense the topologies on X and Y are the same!

More formally, one can show that ≅ is an equivalence relation on topological spaces. The proof relies on 1) and 2) from Proposition 2.5

Homeomorphisms are in this sense "topological space isomorphisms" since they preserve the important structure of topological spaces: the topology. This is analagous to how bijective linear maps are vector space isomorphisms and how bijective group homomorphisms are group isomorphisms.

Example 2.7:

In fact, we may show any open interval (a,b) is homeomorphic to ℝ by showing that (0,1) is homeomorphic to (a,b) via an affine map then using the fact that "being homeomorphic" is an equivalence relation.

One major goal of topology is to classify topological spaces up to homeomorphism. This is insurmountable if attempted all at once, even if one restricts to special topological spaces, and is still an active area of research. What is a more approachable goal is to find certain properties that topological spaces have which are invariant under homeomorphism. A vast majority of what follows in this series of posts can be seen as a hunt for these invariants whilst also generalising a lot of familiar concepts we have on ℝ with its standard topology.

Meanwhile, I will continue to pray for a YHM T3 Turbo or an Otter Creek Labs Polonium to come back in stock...

Other than that, the only thing I'd probably wanna change out in future is getting a CHF (or at least just chrome-lined) Barrel, but I need to stop playing musical barrels and just shoot the ones I have until they actually need replacement.

But overall, the form factor is exactly where I want it to be for right now. Once the new muzzle device is on, I'll do a full build breakdown/parts list.

thor and loki's neck touch motif:

thor pulls loki out of the helicopter (ie, takes him prisoner) throat-first, and when they land, he throws him to the ground. he then repeatedly grabs loki by the scruff of the neck while shouting at and shaking him. loki does not attempt to defend himself or respond in kind. (A1)

in the same scene, rapidly switching tone but still holding loki by the neck, thor implores loki to stop fighting and come home. (or rather, continues to order him to do so, but more gently.)

thor grabs loki by the neck, covers his mouth, and slams him into a wall. again, loki does not resist, even though this one comes out of nowhere when they're supposedly allies. (T2)

thor repeatedly slams loki into a wall, pins him by his throat, and only just stops himself from hitting him. (during this one, loki cannot defend himself, because his hands are tied.) (T2)

loki's chains in T2 include a collar with no clear function besides dehumanisation. (*de-personification. you know what i mean.) given loki's jotun heritage and status somewhere along the prisoner-of-war to spoils-of-war spectrum (and odin's attitude to him at this point), this has, at least, connotations of ownership/slavery. :(

"obedience disks" in T3 - these are normally stuck on the neck, function as a shock collar, and used to enslave people. both thor and loki are given one, and both, to at least some extent, participate in the violence towards the other. (loki tries to keep thor on sakaar; thor actually sticks loki's on [though not on his neck] and uses it.)

loki is put in a collar again by the TVA in the loki show. it's not quite a shock collar, but it really looks like one, and it has similar functions. and in this case, loki is again (very literally) a) denied personhood and b) enslaved. :|

hela's only living ally in T3 is her axeman.

after thor loses mjolnir, he replaces it with an axe.

Ngl while I def see Shidou's fascist ideas I also see him being directly responsible for some ultra fucked up shit for t3 beyond simply taking care of the only prisoners that he considers "worth saving" and discarding the ones he couldn't give 3 shits about Shidou is really the type that tends to wait for something bad to happen rather then being the cause of it. We see this in A) In his voice trailer he says "You're in my way hurry up and die" which to me implies he purposefully waits for patients to die (likely to take their organs) and B) in the interro that he isn't the type to appreciate "violence" (tho one may call him a hypocrite because he harvested organs) Anyways I'm just rambling my thoughts about Shidou since I saw some people mention him
