I just have to say that it's so weird reading how transphobes think of trans bodies as mutilated and gross when they never would have thought my body pre-transition was worthy. The "argument" of mutilated beauty that transphobes have tossed around is just a fear mongering tactic, because they don't tend to actually love or appreciate and see value in bodies that don't "neatly" fit into male and female, with no overlap and no nuances.

having thoughts about dnp saying the reason they wanted to write tabinof in the first place was to commemorate the era and give fans something to look back on and remember when they're older & how they consistently talked about the tatinof/tabinof era like it was an ending (or at least the end of their "peak")

the idea that in 2015!! they were preparing for their audience and community and their popularity to go away eventually so they wanted to create a physical reminder that "once upon a time there were these two guys called dan and phil who met each other on the internet who created this entire world"

it's like they were assuming the world of dan and phil and this community would be another trend and that their audience would lose interest in over time, especially after they'd just hit this massive peak. except it wasn't and we didn't

thinking about how that was almost 10 years ago and we're still here

when i was a very small child someone gifted me a Pretty Box. it was fully decorated with plastic gems (i was REALLY into big colorful gems or anything that looked like it could be a fantasy artefact), but i still managed to find enough space along the lid to write "TOP SECRET!! DO NOT OPEN" or something of that manner with wonky writing and a regular amount of typos for a child. i was very excited about my pretty box of secrets.

the thing about having a Secret Box was this:

- i needed something Secret to put inside it

- i needed to share the Secret with someone. obviously

so after looking everwhere for something worthy of THE SECRET BOX, i pestered my mom into taking a look. i actually think she declined at first, telling me the point of secrets is to not tell anyone, but eventually she caved -

and found it full of bones i had found on the ground outside. i was immediately ordered to throw them out and wash my hands. such is the tale of the most short lived of Secrets

#obviously i kept the box. but by then i had also been told about germs and bacteria #i think the parallell to catholic relic boxes is striking. beautiful containers full of some bones
