Atinuke Oyelude on November 16, 1931, in Kano,Oyelude was crowned Miss Nigeria making her the first title holder of the pageant in 1957. Her journey to becoming the inaugural Miss Nigeria unfolded when her brother shared her photograph with the pageant organizers at a time when Miss Nigeria was a photo competition. After her reign as Miss Nigeria,Oyelude travelled to the UK and pursued a career in Nursing, which was made possible by the £200 cash prize she won from the competition. At the completion of her studies in London, she returned to Nigeria and worked at Kaduna General Hospital between 1964 and 1965. Oyelude moved to Maiduguri General Hospital when the Biafran War started. She led a team from the North to provide medical support to casualties of the war.

Naturally I, like any other same Igbo person, am a supporter of the independent nation/state of Biafra. But at the same time, knowing Nigerians and knowing that Igbos aren't unique in this regard, I'm wondering if/when that independence is achieved, whether there will be constitutional guarantees of equal rights for women, gender minorities/LGBT+ people, religious minorities, criminals and disabled people, etc. Because socially/culturally/economically those are things that Nigeria as a state already lacks. And so if Biafra achieve it's independence but doesn't actually try to be better than Nigeria in those regards, what exactly will have been accomplished lmao

Another 105 civilians from the Christian Mwagaful community, were murdered in Nigeria by Alfonja Jihadi Fulani militias who are ethnic cleansing Nigeria of its Christians in the state of Plateau and elsewhere. The UN and the world is ignoring Islamic Jihad in Nigeria.

Dr. Philip Emeagwali is the Inventor of the World's Fastest Computer.

Popularly called the "Bill Gates of Africa", the Famous African Inventor from Onitsha, Anambra State, was born in Akure, Ondo State.

Like many African schoolchildren, he dropped out of school at age 14 because his father could no longer afford to train him in school.

Even after dropping out of school, his father didn't give up on his son. He continued teaching him at home. It was recorded that everyday, his father made Emeagwali performed mental exercises such as solving 100 math problems in one hour.

Fifteen months after Emeagwali's high school education began, the Nigerian Civil War broke out. Him and his family fled to the eastern part of the country and he was surprisingly drafted into the Biafran Army.

Emeagwali's family lived in a refugee camp until the war ended in 1970. More than half a million Biafrans died of starvation.

He didn't give up on his dreams, he studied hard and got scholarship to Oregon State University when he was 17 where he obtained a BS in mathematics. He also earned three other degrees – a Ph.D. in Scientific computing from the University of Michigan and two Masters degrees from George Washington University.

In his words, "My focus is not on solving nature's deeper mysteries. It is on using nature's deeper mysteries to solve important societal problems."

Going forward, I'm going to be covering the funeral of The Queen like normal.
