Bonsai Apples

I used to feel proud on behalf

Of a bonsai apple tree.

If it could bear fruit I could too,

No matter how small I might be.

But sometimes it may be no sin,

To rest and take the easy path.

My branch is small and frail within,

Roots still reaching for what's true.

Apples are heavy when you're trying to be.

Perhaps I cannot fruit till I am free.

As usual, all original swatches included with lots of extras added by me! ☺️💗 I'm very excited to share the Monarch butterfly Breeding Project, which I made myself. When I was in school we raised some Monarchs and released them when they emerged & matured, it was really cool AND I love to share items that also raise some kind of awareness on important issues when the inspiration strikes me. Saving the Monarch butterflies is definitely one of them! You can read about how to help them here.

Type “ACNH School” into the search query in build mode to find quickly. You can always find items like this, just begin typing the title and it will appear.

Always suggested: bb.objects ON, it makes placing items much easier. For further placement tweaking, check out the TOOL mod.

Use the scale up & down feature on your keyboard to make the items larger or smaller to your liking. If you have a non-US keyboard, it may be different keys depending on which alphabet it uses. (I used this to "hang" the backpacks from the hook on the side of the student desk in the preview image above, for instance. To put it at the correct height, raise the backback 2 times.)

Apple tree update! This one's my tallest and fastest growing sapling, sharing a pot with its twin that I didn't expect too see thriving, but here they are! This is the first of my baby orchard to start developing bark, and all the apples I've grown are still going strong (yellow things are flypaper to keep fungus gnats away)

And we've had a small miracle! My blue Jacaranda sprouts almost died off to 3 survivors after one began to wilt. A prop, extra warmth, and warmer water in the watering can perked the little thing right up. I love watching these little ones grow. Every time they unfurl a new pair of leaves, they remind me of tiny little tree frog sized laurel crowns. They also smell surprisingly nice already.

Fin we need to discuss King's family more. For example his son: Apparently if you want a seed to turn into a bonsai and not a normal tree you're supposed to show extra effort to make it stay small. So did Edison try to make the tree a bonsai specifically or was the seed anomalous and automatically small?

I believe that Edison wanted to grow it as a bonsai, he always thought they were really cool and like zen looking. Plus would be neat to have a bonsai around, brighten up the gloomy office and a small tree is much more fun cause he can carry it around with him

Though I can't rule out that the apple seeds are not anomalous in some compacity like since looking at where they come from *cough* King *cough*, like who knows, maybe the bonsai tree is the next tree of life. Ok but honestly during that whole beginning period of Edison trying to grow this bonsai tree he was constantly messaging King updates and photos on it (like those plant observation journal kindergarten kids would do), it still didn't germinate but he still had hope. It only started to germinate a month later when Edison finally dragged King over (much to the latter's dismay) to come check it out

Nothing quite feels like spring like going outside and looking for growth and buds swelling in April and May, to me anyways.

Some early spring pictures. The first is a young honeysuckle and the second is a one year old apple seedling. Both in pots and set to become bonsai in the future after they grow a good while.

Third is an OLD (as in, it's been her from the very first year we moved in and the past owner had no clue how long it's been there) patch of rubarb that is super strong. I take a few stalks off and make a strawberry pie with it most years, but other than that grow it for just how big and beautiful the leaves get.

Gotta get done with the whole yard clean up. In a few weeks, the rush to repot will be happening considering how much movement I am seeing on a lot of my bonsai! After that, sowing some seeds for veggies and summer flowers.

Listen to me, listen to me If someone comes up to you, bouncing with excitement about an idea, but as they're explaining it to you, you realize the idea isn't feasible to achieve, DO NOT just pop this person's excitement bubble and walk away

You gently, tactfully, kindly point out the holes in their idea. Then offer solutions and/or get them to start brainstorming on how to make the idea feasible. At the very least, be encouraging

It sucks ass to be on the receiving end of someone popping your excitement bubble and leaving you totally deflated. And nothing will stop me from coming to you with things I'm excited about faster than it

#Sword speaks #this post brought to you by my dad who's very new to gardening but excited about it #this man is under so much stress and doesn't get excited over much these days #but earlier he saw a video where a guy made it look like he could grow an apple and grape tree hybrid #now it might be obvious to some that it doesn't work like that but like I said my dad doesn't know much about gardening #and he got really excited about the idea and started showing the video around to our family #and saying he wants to try it #one member of my family just said 'that's fake stop falling for stupid videos'#and you could just see dad deflate and start to close off #BUT NOT ON MY WATCH BITCHES #I did a bunch of research and sent him what I found and explained why the video isn't realistic #then I sent him information on grafting multi-fruit trees and showed him some examples #I did the same with hybridization #I even sent him info on bonsai fruit trees cause they're cute and dad's a softie #and watched him get excited again! Then I told off the person who made the initial statement #cause c'mon don't be a douchebag #this man barely gets to have any fun let him have some fun!

... I gotta know. I see the Marvels and the Dreads and I love how they look but I gotta know; would they like having a bonsai apple tree that they could take care of? Or just a small apple tree in general? They're too cute!

I think a Marvel would be down for it right away but a Dread may be offended at first. He needs no replacement tree (especially with HIM)!

But I think over time while a Marvel enjoys taking care of the tree that the Dread will become interested in the artistry of Bonsai: pruning branches and using wire to force the tree to grow into a pleasing shape, trimming the rootball to keep it small and choosing the best accessories that match his vision for the tree!

The Marvel would see that as over controlling and fiddly but a Dread would find it soothing and rewarding.

Just my thoughts!

A bunch of headcanons of Sonic characters regarding cooking, eating habits and etc because I felt like that.

Knuckles' sense of smell is so keen that he can tell you what seasonings you used in the food.

And he learned the smell of every seasoning Amy ever used, that because he frequently helps Amy to cook.

Sonic will eat ANYTHING you offer to him, of course if you give him the right of choice he will straight up say "chilidogs", but if you throw a suggestion of any different dish he'll be the first one to agree.

Tails is far the kid with the worst eating habits among Sonic's friends, he inherited his bro's habit of eating junk food only while: Vector is always making the possible to Charmy follow a healthy diet; Cream was from a toddler encouraged into the most healthy vegetarian diet in the world; and Blaze works hard along the Coconut Crew to correct Marine's eating habits.

Cream's eating habits are so exemplary that Amy sometimes asks advices to diets without even ask Vanilla first, it because most surely mother and daughter will say the same thing.

Eventually Cream will start a full vegan diet, she stays as vegetarian mainly because of ice cream.

Espio will sometimes tries to annoy Amy showing off recipes of books he speedread in the previous day... Although everyone will always agree the pink hedgehog cooks and bakes a way better.

Vector asks G-merl of cooking lessons to try impress Vanilla, he doesn't asks Espio because the chameleon would mock him forever, he also doesn't ask to Amy because he fears she would accidentally reveal.

Shadow mostly prefers to make his food himself because he doesn't like of the way everyone else does and wants to avoid stress... Rouge would complain if he didn't do the dishes.

In a Dadow scenario, Shadow puts a lot of effort in search about healthy diets to make food to Silver and any other child he adopted, he wants his non-alien hybrid kids have the best healthy eating habits possible.

Silver can eat anything, no matter how gross it is, he can eat! Insects? He can! Flowers? Why not? Wood chips? Yep! Dog food? Don't doubt! Onyx City blandest "nutritive" bars? You can bet! Even a Silver who grew up in a decent world retains this ability and is not afraid of return to those methods of survival if needed and Shadow is hating it.

Buuuuut, Silver is always willing to get better in cooking and Shadow's strict methods won't scary him out because he will put as much effort as Shadow in make the most delicious food possible for his friends.

Gold loves coffee and she loves it more when it's sugary, the more sugar is better for her.

Eclipse never tried anything but the Black Arms' fruits, so he gets surprised in learn Mobius' fruits can match their taste.

In the end he's an alien addicted in apples, he's also impressed in how a full sized apple can sprout even in bonsai sometimes, it makes him love this fruit more.
