notes: gn!disabled!reader, this is self indulgent i tried to make this fitting for more general chronic pain! reader might come across as ehlers danlos-coded (is that a thing?? weird thing for me to type)

aki is already so sweet and caring with you, of course he would be helpful when your chronic pain flares up.

he notices that you’re moving a bit slower, taking shorter steps, taking a longer time to get up from your seat… and he’s immediately there to help

VERY quick to ask what you need, but he also tries to offer your usual solutions

“where does it hurt? do you need a heating pad? painkillers? tiger balm? do you want me to run a warm bath?”

if you have fluctuating mobility/occasionally use a mobility aid, he does his best to keep everything in a convenient spot for you. crutches near the bed so you can slide your arms in and get up with a bit more ease, rollator in a place where you don’t trip but it’s easy to access…

he was initially Overly Careful with you so he didn’t aggravate your pain further, but as he grows used to your needs, he’s still careful but he’s not scared of breaking you like he used to be

kisses the back of your neck while gently massaging your sore joints/muscles, murmuring soft “i love you”s and “you’re gonna be okay”s while he’s rubbing tiger balm onto your sorest spots

if he hears your joints pop he gets really nervous until you specify if it was a good/bad pop

if a spot is too sore, he won’t touch it in case he hurts you even more.

and if you just Can’t get out of bed for the day? he calls off from work to take care of you. brings you comfort food, helps you to the bathroom when you need it, makes sure you’re hydrated and taking your meds…

SPEAKING OF MEDS. this man is so good at reminding you

“did you forget to take your meds? maybe you should take them now, love. it’ll help you feel less sore.”

he’s very careful to make sure he doesn’t shame you for forgetting meds, for needing help, for being in pain. he just does whatever he can to make sure you’re okay and empathises with your complaints about your aches.

while he hates seeing you in pain during a flare-up, he becomes extra doting just to make sure your needs are met. cooks your fav comfort meal, makes sure all your pillows are soft and arranged to keep you comfy, refills your water bottle whenever it’s almost empty, etc.

To also go off of the point about cop!akihiko being annoying to me I gotta say that Akihiko as a character is very hit or miss with me because of how different adaptations of p3 will subtly alter his character. I felt like in portable with the femc route he comes off best, he’s a bit of a hothead with an obsession with fighting, but he’s overcompensating his strength so he doesn’t feel as weak and helpless as he’s been in many situations. He defines strength in a very literal sense, being physically strong and using that to protect others, but he’s lacking in emotional strength as a result. And in particular in this version I think he’s portrayed as a bit more goofy and sweet in a sense. He cares deeply for you as a friend and leader but he struggles with finding the words to describe how he feels. Hes kinda naive and gullible and has trouble noticing his surroundings. He has no clue what he’s doing but his heart is in the right place. I think he just comes off much more human and he has flaws, many many flaws, and that makes him all the more lovable

But then in other adaptations and spinoffs it’s like. They look at him through some hetero male bullshit filter and seem to view him as a lot more admirable and cool. Like in p3 dancing, theres literally an event where he’s talking with Junpei and Minato and they’re gushing about how perfect Akihiko is and how he doesn’t seem to have ANY flaws at all. And it becomes clear his inability to flirt with women just gets added as a way to make sure you, the Straight Male Player, don’t get insecure being next to such Perfection because at the end of the day, you’re still more charming and sexy than he will ever be because you’re better. It’s a “flaw” that’s only there to shield a sensitive male ego. And then in arena I mean, come on. He’s overly beefy and is a damn cop and travels the world and loves Protein™️ it’s his whole personality and he’s so clearly meant to be seen as hot but like, he’s just some shitty hetero male fantasy. Hes what the writers deem to be a Perfect Man that every guy wishes he could be, but don’t worry he’s still bad with women so you don’t gotta worry about him stealing your property- I mean, girlfriend!

And though I’ve not played reload and don’t really plan to anytime soon, judging from his social episodes they seem to have a similar problem. Akihiko comes off as a lot less approachable, like the year age gap is just too much of a barrier to get to know him properly. And he doesn’t have that dorky sweetness he has in portable, he’s just that perfect hetero male fantasy guy and don’t you fucking worry- he still has his protein powder with him

listen i know arakawa vehemently refused the idea of introducing a love triangle/a love rival in silver spoon

but heres the thing

she already did

her name is ayame minamikujou

she is introduced as mikage's childhood friend. shes loud and condescending and annoying. but most importantly she is viscerally jealous of hachiken's spot in ezo ag because it means he gets to go to school with mikage.

she believes he took the place that belongs to her. she treats him poorly. refuses to remember his name and picks whatever number comes to her mind instead. to a point that becomes ridiculous. like what the fuck is this

she shows zero respect towards him but she. compliments mikage a lot? under the guise of being a rival of course but like we know how gay rivalries tend to be. she shows a lot of faith in mikage's abilities and pushes her to be better. she's even the whole reason mikage becomes less nervous and competes as well as she did.

i dont have the panels but did i mention that she founded an equestrian club at her school and is its only member? going through all that trouble just to see mikage in competitions? probably getting hounded by faculty to get more members or to give it up? all that for a girl? interesting. very interesting

anyways the day hachiken collapses she drops by to be a general nuisance, but when aki asks for her help, she calls her dad to bring her horse with zero hesitation

the second she hears aki intends to go to college, she decides she wants to go too (once again under the guise of "competition", which is fooling absolutely nobody by now)

when she fails and shingo pushes her to try again, she complains that it means she would be aki's junior.

what this means :

a- confirmation that just like many other things literally her only motivation is to be with aki

b- as pointed out by hachiken, she fully believes that aki will get in through her recommendation

when aki's recommendation is accepted she brags about knowing aki had it in her all along. and like, she's right. she believed in mikage the whole time (even though she shows it in her weird ojou-sama ways)

bonus: she hates men

the entire thing is hilarious in and of itself (imo she is THE funniest character) but what makes it funnier is the idea that arakawa didnt put in a love rival at the request of her editor, just to write a character that is essentially a mockery of the idea.

even funnier than that is the fact that hachiken was sitting there, worrying sick about the possibility of aki and komaba being together because of a few misunderstandings, when this girl is essentially claiming that she will steal his gf whenever she's on the page

THANK YOU I LOVE HIM SO DEARLY TOO!!!!! the backstory with absent parents and just. everything about seven... i think makes a lot of infamous ocs potentially lean into this?? or at least there are a ton of choices that just made me go "oh yeah. that's him" . idk there is an element to how infamous is written that really helps with characterising him, including how customisable it is, and i do love that about this IF!!!!! crying about him below the cut <3

aki kind of navigates the world worried his loved ones will leave him and is a little too clingy because of it. he also has been playing those worries off by being charming, flirty and funny. like he can somehow project this hyper-extrovered version of himself and try to make people love that !!! he drops that more around his bandmates/friends, but not in front of people he's just met (please guess who accidentally escalated the bed fight on the tour bus)

aki also hooks up with people a lot, just cause he likes sex but also because he enjoys the no-strings-attached. because of those attachment issues, when he gets something that feels black and white to him, something one-and-done and he leaves in the morning, he can just. take feelings out the equation. he knows its not meant to last so he can just walk out (leave! hit da bricks!!! walk out!!!!!)

committing to a romantic relationship . you can imagine. is a little complicated due to all this LMFAO he just overthinks and worries before even getting into it, regardless of if it's reciprocated or not. between the one time he's actually into someone (seven) and how that ended (...badly) + the fact that deliriously avoiding commiting to anything except hookups = very little (none at all) actual dating experience. aki has no idea to deal with it and will balk. yeah this is immature of him but i have plans to make this guy character develop so hard throughout the course of infamous that he may implode

Read ~60 chapters of Chainsaw Man today, WHEWWWWW-

#dee p thoughts #overall review so far: pretty good. author's style is very distinct and potentially offputting/unhinged so I 1000% get someone not liking #this for that reason. theres a lot of food for thought to chew on among it so I enjoy it tho. but I do think the plot in terms of arcs and #how they tie into character development/progression can be very...fast and sudden? couldve used more time to make the progressions more #gradual and natural feeling imo which is where I think the anime expanding on scenes enhances this. ex: aki's care for power and denji is #very sweet but it also feels a bit sudden in terms of...well how to word this? like it ultimately MAKES SENSE but the turning point makes i #feel like his care stems from them almost dying reminding him of himeno as opposed to. caring about them afdadljbkndlkj- yes its establishe #that aki views denji kind of as a little brother but they couldve had the trio cook a little longer imo like at that point I dont really #feel aki has had much connection to power either tbh but...I get it I get why lol-#THO I WILL GIVE THAT THE SUDDENNESS FEELING MAY STEM FROM ME READING ~60 CHAPTERS YEAH. just like? denji's relationship with makima has mor #gradual progression than the trio's imo which makes sense but we should strengthen the trio bond for extra impacttt-#thinking deeper I do think aki has individual moments with denji and power has individual moments with denji so its probably the lack of ak #interacting with power that makes me feel the trio isnt fully baked lol. kind of just shown annoyance and then happiness at her not throwin #vegetables and now you dont want her to die I guess thats what makes me feel something is missinggg #which makes sense at the end of the day I guess? whats important is their relationship with denji not each other? but eh still I guess we'l #jot this down as a personal preference of mine

it's funny how i love tragic ships, but then ended up shipping aki with a character that no one expect to ship him with (at least in the western side of the fandom)

#himeaki is nice... but in a one-sided way #like yeah himeno loves him but also she had this selfish need for him to agonize over her death #which... is an interesting way of loving someone #and ofc aki loves her whether it's platonic or more than that #he does loves her and look up to her #but he's just too... struck up with grief that only until himeno's death did he realized he need to move on and cherish what he had #aki and angel?? i think it's mostly a product of what he experience with himeno #all of those regrets culminating into this... resignation #that at the very least he doesn't wanna see anyone he knows to die in front of him #and surprisingly i don't ship akiangel #especially after that reveal on angel's beloved person #the one human that he loves and loves him back #god that part hurts so much it makes it hard for me to ship angel with aki because of that #such pure feelings... and to think makima's the one cut it all away... destroying his first connections to humanity #but yeah aki and angel for me is platonic in a sense that angel is watching over him until his time comes to say goodbye to the life he had #and so now... you may ask #why ship aki with denji then?#well i only have one answer #snowball fight #that scene changes everything for me #that's the most tragic fight scene i have ever watch and i literally break down when i realized that aki stopped fighting because #he saw denji's crying face #saying 'i never saw you cry before'#like... that moment of vulnerability... that's what breaks him from the gun devil's (and makima's) control #and that's just so... poetic and tragic in so many ways #so... yeah #that's how i ended up shipping these two #anyway... so many spoilers here #tmi tag

Hello! I have recently taken a...large interest in your Dark AU much to my own guilty pleasure. And not so recently (More like the first time he showed up. Albeit if even for just a second.) An interest *cough* obsession *cough* with Akiyama Himori :D (and to an equal extent Fushimi/Akiyama)

Anyways...I was wondering what S4's *cough* Fushimi, Munakata, and Benzai *cough* (Man...I should invest in cough drops 😅) thought on if a strain swapped Dark!Akiyama and Canon!Akiyama. (I'm still curious as to what all of S3's reactions would be? If you had to pick and choose I would say Saru, Munakata, and Benzai are the ones I wanna hear about most as well as maybe Seri?) So what Dark AU thinks of Normal!Akiyama and what Normal!S4 think of Dark Akiyama 🤔

(Some AkiFushi would be nice 🤏)

And on a side note. What sort of freaky foursome bs do Aki, Saru, Benzai, and Misaki get up to in the Dark au... I'm just thinking of Akiyama getting an obsession with Fushimi, Benzai going along with Aki, Fushimi liking this...unexpected side of Aki while being able to make Yata jealous, and Yata thinking about killing people. (Probably not accurate- but it was running through my head....so I suppose it needed to be said somewhere)

Somehow I imagine Dark S4 not even realizing that they have normal Akiyama because he normally hides his scary yandere side so it's like of course Akiyama's seeming so sweet and pleasant he's always like that, let's not antagonize him or he might cave our heads in with a tire iron. Like imagine a Strain switches the two of them and when Akiyama realizes he's in the Dark AU he just does his best to try and act like he belongs here. He quickly learns that his Dark self is a very sweet and kind person who is also unreasonably scary when needed so he just does his best to avoid situations where his Dark self would normally be murdering people. He does find out that his Dark self has an obsession with Fushimi and that Fushimi encourages it as a way of making Yata jealous, so now Akiyama has to try and seem interested in Fushimi (which isn't hard because he is interested in Fushimi but in his world's Fushimi, and it's hard seeing the person he cares about be twisted into this state).Though I imagine that while Dark Benzai is supportive of Akiyama's activities he's also fairly jealous himself, so Akiyama has to navigate Dark Yata trying to kill him, Dark Fushimi flirting with him and Dark Benzai being possessive of him, all while remaining as polite and proper as possible and trying to make everyone think that no really if you make me mad I'll destroy you (this is where his Dom side would come in handy, except Dark Akiyama is more twisted yandere than Dom so even using his best commanding officer voice makes Dark S4 suspicious).

Meanwhile Dark Akiyama has landed in normal S4 world and say normal K world is aware of the Dark AU so they know where Dark Akiyama's from but they don't know what his personality is like. He's initially chained up and taken to S4's prison, Benzai decides to check on him and is so confused because how can this be Dark Akiyama when he seems so kind and soft spoken? If anything Benzai feels like this Akiyama is maybe a little too timid, like Benzai knows Akiyama has a strong side and that when he gets impolite Akiyama can even be very scary, while this Akiyama is almost shrinking back into himself.

Munakata I think would be the suspicious one, when Benzai mentions his concerns Munakata decides to speak with Dark Akiyama himself. Maybe Fushimi shows up while Munakata is trying to talk with Dark Akiyama and Dark Akiyama gets very excited seeing Fushimi-san, he just really loves Fushimi-san. Fushimi raises an eyebrow and Munakata is like I see, so you are fond of Fushimi-kun. Dark Akiyama smiles angelically and says that just seeing Munakata standing so close to Fushimi makes Akiyama want to beat Munakata with a brick until he's unrecognizable. Fushimi chokes a little at that, like he knows normal Akiyama isn't as sweet as he seems but this is definitely extreme. Munakata notes that this must be Akiyama's dark counterpart after all, and makes sure they double security (he also suggests that Fushimi not come down here again and Dark Akiyama really doesn't like that, suddenly getting this ominous terrifying look as he says that it isn't nice to take Fushimi away from him).

#Akifushi #Talking K #DARK AU #ah a fellow person of culture #Akiyama is that one character who has very little backstory so I get to make all the headcanons for him XD #...actually when you think about it Dark Akiyama is closest to his K world self just turned up to eleven XD #normal Akiyama is also very kind and polite but will end you if he must #he just saves that side of him for justice and occasionally the bedroom #whereas Dark Aki is small and cute and fluffy and will beat you to paste for looking at Fushimi-san

it felt amazing to finally see that green checkmark on ao3, to finally move the full fic to my finished folders on docs, to finally say with my whole chest that it's really completed...

I'm proud of myself and what I managed to make, I'd been working on this fic for over a year, and I felt a lot of doubts while writing. I didn't expect to write so much. I often thought I was saying too much, or the fic wasn't good enough. when I reread it, I realized it wasn't perfect, but it doesn't have to be. I wrote something that was so unabashedly me, and I'm so grateful for that feeling. I'm so happy that I can write what I enjoy, that I can be myself while doing what I have always loved the most. I learned and progressed, and I can feel only excitement for whatever I write next!!
