Anon has been turned off because some folks have decided to be asses in my ask box.
Asks are still on but no more hiding behind anon. If you wanna call me names you gotta do it face to face. 😘

i’m perfectly happy and content by myself, i relish in my singleness and i could honestly see myself being single for the rest of my life and being fine with that. however, there are some times where i get so so so tired of taking care my myself and just wish, for once, someone would take care of me

I’m just so wary of the comic book to screen adaptation pipeline. It operates under this ludicrously capitalistic assumption that comics as an art form exist to be later re-formulated, redone, decontextualized to be made into films and TV. It’s not like those mediums aren’t art, it’s that in our streaming war, MCU dominated hellscape, it’s all about churning out the Next Big Thing that’ll go viral, produce memes, maybe start some discourse online. it reduces beautiful stories to something that is just another blip in the grand pop culture scheme. it reduces them to something unrecognizable.
It just communicates this message that our favorite media exists to be bought, over-consumed. Stripped of meaning. You’ll fall in love with a comic run that tackles themes like homelessness or family or love or queerness and then Disney+ or Warner Bros will announce a miniseries for it. It’ll cost 50 million dollars. The original themes will never even be mentioned. They’ll make tik toks about it. They’ll be meme accounts on Twitter. None of these things are bad. But we’re getting so far removed from appreciating comics as the medium they are and what they uniquely communicate and instead it’s just treated like the next big studio venture.

Studying criminal justice and criminology for the past 5 almost 6 years really changes how you view literally everything. Especially when studying victimology and hearing victims experiences. But it has changed how I view media and society’s perception of anything crime related. I was scrolling through tiktok and ppl are doing makeup tutorials, or painting their nails while they explain some serial killer case or crime case and it’s just…disgusting. People died and you’re doing your makeup over the details of their murders & abuse. The lack of respect for the victims and their family members is just appalling. Like I get that we as humans are curious by nature and we have this weird inclination to want to know about true crime and horror and gory details but doing this is an absolute no. Sometimes even true crime podcasts rub me the wrong way with how ppl so freely listen to them nonchalantly and then make jokes about how they listen to them before bed…
It’s just sad that at the end of the day, most of the country can easily name these serial killers and what they did but do not know the victims names. The killers are the ones who gain so much traction with movies and shows made of them… just giving them what they want and dismissing victims and their families who have to see their loved ones murderer all over tv and social media constantly.

I wish butch n femme balls existed. Not to b a fucking sap n a massive dyke but wow. Ugh even. Just wanna wear a gown n stilettos n have my honey greet me w a bouquet before we leave n we wear matching or complimentary jewelry n spend hours on my hair and makeup to impress. N then when we get there my honey will spin me around the room for a brief dance before grabbing something to drink, wine for me n whiskey for her, as we chat w other dykes n celebrate butchfemmeness. Or whatever
