having a field day with your geralt & wyll posts. it is a personal big headcanon of mine that wyll, after events of the game, ends up doing kind of the same thing as geralt so hhh <3 also agree with prev anon they would get along pretty well, not sure i could say the same about regis and astarion tho i do think he'd like yennefer more, but then again i haven't quite gotten to his character in the books just yet so

I'm not usually one for crossovers, but watching my dad play The Witcher while I'm hyper fixated on Wyll got me thinking.

I think there's many different endings that would fit Wyll, whether they're canon or not. That said, I feel like that's what his Blade of Frontiers ending essentially is.

See I don't even know anything about Regis but from what I know of Astarion, I couldn't really imagine him getting along with another chatty vampire. Yennefer seems like a bad bitch tho, and I think Astarion would recognize and appreciate that.

Also I was thinking about how canonically weak Wyll is, but I know Geralt is jacked. Wyll calls Halsin a "thick hunk of an elf". I think Geralt's strength combined with his Weird Vibe would make Wyll swoon. Wyll is a romantic, but I think he'd let Geralt know he could hit it platonically whenever he wants.

So. A commenter on HtBHH mentioned a while back "oh, man, what if there were other clones in the compound and that's why Obi-Wan thought he sensed them" and while that wasn't how I was intending it, I cannot get the thought out of my head.

IDK how it happens, some sort of similar "they think he's dead" thing in a battle a week after they get sent back out and Dooku thinks taking one of Obi-Wan's troopers would be a better way to get him to cooperate or not fight back, or something, unimportant, basic premise is "he will remain unharmed as long as you don't fight back" because we all know THAT'S THE WAY TO BREAK OBI-WAN THAT IS WHAT WILL MAKE HIM NOT FIGHT BACK.

and idk how but somehow they can see what's happening anyways through some sort of video feed or something and I have not been able to stop imagining- what if it was Helix? I've just got this one very vivid scene in my head of Helix screaming Obi-Wan's name, for Dooku to stop, swearing at him, threatening him, etc. until he realizes- of course there were recorders in his cell, and Dooku, trying his best to recreate a nightmare of a medbay, now has access to the voice of Obi-Wan's CMO.

And I’ve just been thinking- what would recovery look like, from that? What would recovery look like when Obi-Wan is utterly unwilling to let Helix out of his line of sight, but depending on how aware he is sometimes the sound of his voice can send him into flashbacks? What would it look like for Helix, who has been forced to witness as everything that he is and values and has worked for gets twisted into something unrecognizable and used to hurt? Oh, hell, what if Obi-Wan is- oddly calm, and willing to accept medical treatment, he doesn’t fight it or anything, and then something happens and they realize the only reason why is because his brain is still hardwired into thinking that if he says no, if he tries to fight back in any way, then Helix will be the one to take the punishment, and he wants them to stop so badly but doesn’t- can’t- say anything because he doesn’t want Helix to get hurt? I feel like Mace would be the one to pick up on that, definitely, because the only sign of the fear and the stopstopstop would just be screaming in the Force.

And I can just imagine Helix just... stops talking, for a bit. He realizes that his voice is a trigger- hell, not just for Obi-Wan but for himself, as well, because he’s been witnessing all these recordings of his own voice- edited, of course, because he would never- he would never (but what if he did after all it’s his voice), so he just... stops talking? So focused on making sure Obi-Wan’s okay, completely neglecting to take into account his own trauma?

Anyways, I’m sure I’ll probably have more thoughts on this later, because now I’m thinking ok, what if it was some of the younger vode, oh fuck what if it was Stitch- IDK man I’m having a lot of feelings.

hey btw if you're in the USA at 2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4, they're testing the emergency broadcast system. your phone is probably going to make a really loud noise, even if it's on silent. there's a backup date on the 11th if they need to postpone it.

if you're not in a safe situation and have an extra phone, you should turn that phone completely off beforehand.

additionally, if you're like me, and are easily startled; i recommend treating it like a party. have a countdown or something. be surrounded by your loved ones. take the actions you personally need to take to make yourself safe.

i have already seen mockery towards any person who feels nervous about this. for the record, it completely, completely valid to have "emergency broadcast sounds" be an anxiety trigger. do not let other people make fun of you for that. emergency sounds are legitimately engineered to make us take action; those of us with high levels of anxiety and/or neurodivergence are already pre-disposed to have a Bad Time. sometimes it is best to acknowledge that the situation will be triggering for some, and to prepare for that; rather than just saying "well that's stupid, it's just a test."

"loud scary sound time" isn't like, my favorite thing, but we can at least try to prevent some additional anxiety by preparing for it. maybe get yourself a cake? noise cancelling headphones? the new hozier album? whatever helps. love u, hope you're okay. we are gonna ride it out together.

I'm not just cooking, i'm baking a whole ass CAKE

not 100% happy with the design but I wanted to get it out of my system, I went for darker and more muted colors for Zoro while still utilizing the usual elemnts of his outfit like the sash and the haramaki. also the color palette for the full outfit turned out very tasty, like it makes me think of chocolate and sweets. not sure about the use of haramaki though, I feel like it makes the proportions a bit awkward when everything else is dark, but it does make the shirt fold nicely so I may keep it in the end

now that I'm further into WCI I think I should add a suit version as well for the wedding bit hmmm

My idea for this is after coming to Big Mom's territory and fighting her commanders they get to the Germa carriage just like in canon. Zoro watches Sanji fight Luffy, restraining himself from interfering. He respects Luffy's decision to not fight Sanji back, but the moment Luffy gets knocked down it's Zoro's turn to try and bring the cook around and he's not gonna hold back

a very tense fight ensues

i taught a baking class for 12 year olds today and we made your garden variety chocolate chip cookies, but i’m a big believer in Questioning Everything and the who/what/where/why/when/how behind things, so the first part of the class was purposely letting the kids do things the wrong way, to show and explain why we do things the way we do.

“why do we bake cookies at 180 for 9 minutes when we could do 400 for 2 minutes?” -enter the godawful lump of coal with a still gross wet and uncooked inside

“why do we have to scoop out little cookies instead of doing the whole tray?” -ok well that one you can technically do if the spread is even. you just end up with one giant, structurally unsound cookie. “PLEASE CAN WE MAKE GIANT COOKIES” (we did make 1 giant tray cookie)

we talked a lot about why consistency is important, but i don’t think it really hammered home until i said “okay everyone gets ONE cookie, that’s fair, right?” and then handed out cookies of hugely varying sizes. + baked one fat lump of a cookie that still wasn’t done at the 9 minutes, vs the regular one i put in that came out charred by the time the first was actually done.

we also made a row of cookies where each one had one single differing ingredient omitted, like a cookie with no flour, or a cookie with no butter, and laid them all out on a single tray to bake together to see how each ingredient affects the outcome.

two of the little girls added cocoa to their cookie doughs until it matched the colour of each others skin to make best friend cookies, and that almost made me tear up a bit 🥺

got briefly distracted (...for over half an hour...) talking about how eggs form when someone cracked an egg and it had 2 yolks

expertly tolerated being asked how old i am (just turned 31 the other day) which was immediately followed by asking if i watched the moon landing live on tv

was so focused on keeping track of all the kids that in the end i forgot to make a cookie for myself, but it’s ok because one of the girls gave me this
