Starting to dig Ariel/Floyd, Tiana/Azul and Belle/Leona as ships. I'm wondering, who would you ship Jamil, Kalim, Vil and Adeuce with?
Jamil, Jasmine probably seems like the obvious answer. Because shipping the princess with the anime boy version of their villain seems like the thing to do. So that's fun
Kalim, i mentioned in one of the other post that I think he would work well will Ariel as well.
For Vil i'm not sure, because if we go by the PrincessxVillain thing, that would be Snow White. But I can't really picture them that way, Snow feel like she'd be more Vils little sister. So undecided on that one. Same as Deuce, I don't have any strong ship ideas rn. To be determined. Feel free to drop your sugggestions.
For Ace, idk why, by my mind went to Anna. Because I'm picturing the first day where he makes fun of Yuu, or in this case, Anna. and Anna being Anna isn't going to take it laying down. She's going to rightfully stand up for herself and talk back. And this is a ship, maybe this is a version of her that either has yet to meet Kristoff or is just friends with him. So Anna still has some of these ideas about love and how it's supposed to work, which like we see in the ghost bride event, Ace will challenge that notion. And of course, the part of book 1 where Ace punches Riddle for mocking Yuu. Only in this context, maybe Riddle mocks Anna for being magicless unlike her "clearly more powerful and talented" sister, and Ace just decks him.

“Katniss, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Prim exclaims, though it sounds pretty pathetic with her congested, pinked nose. “You make the perfect ice queen!” 
“I don’t think that’s usually a compliment,” Katniss says dourly, plopping down on the couch where her sister is situated with several fuzzy blankets, a box of tissues, and a large bowl of ice cream. She can’t taste it very well, but it’s the spirit of the thing that counts. Prim is in denial. 
“I wish I could go,” she whines, holding the “o” in a long, dramatic note. 
“I wish I could stay,” Katniss shoots back, holding the “ay” just as long. 
“No you don’t,” Prim shoos. “You love our friends.” 
“I do,” Katniss sighs, plucking at the silver sequined sleeves of her—well, Prim’s—Elsa costume. It’s too long on Katniss, with her sister’s good half inch on her, but it’s all they’ve got. Her original plan was to pull the classic black top and pants plus cat ears, but when it became apparent Prim wasn’t budging from the couch this Halloween, the real snowy blonde princess of the family had insisted Katniss take her outfit. 
“You can’t show up to Finnick’s in a slapdash, last second costume, Katniss,” she’d said. “The man lives for Halloween. Don’t insult his extravagance with plastic headbands and tails.” 
“I do love our friends, but … I don’t want to go out tonight. I’m tired.”
“Just half an hour,” Prim says. “Snag me some candy, make some pleasantries” — “okay, Jane Bennet” —  “and then come home. At least one of us needs to show up. Just pretend to have a social life for thirty minutes, okay? For me.” 
Katniss rolls her eyes as she gets up from the couch in a twinkling of blue overlay and snowflake hair pins in her braid. She does a quick once over of her shadowy makeup in the hallway mirror as she grabs her car keys. “What do you want?” 
“Chocolate. Anything with chocolate and peanut butter. I’ll save it for when I can experience taste again,” Prim calls back. “Oh, and if Delly’s cousin is there, all of the cupcakes he brought.”
“Mmkay. All the chocolate and cupcakes, coming right up,” Katniss says with a resigned smile. On her way out, she clicks on her phone. It’s just now eight. She resolves to be firmly ensconced in bed by nine at the latest. She gives her sister a wave, keys jangling. “I’ll be back. Soon.” 
At ten thirty, Prim looks up from her Harry Potter induced doze to find she’s received a text from her sister. 
Staying a little later. Fifteen minutes maybe. Have the treats.  
Prim checks the time stamp. The text was sent forty five minutes ago. This might be cause for alarm were it not for the text underneath Katniss’s, from Finnick. It’s a photo, taken in front of a makeshift photo op with purple and silver and orange streamers in the background and cutesy little bat and pumpkin and vampire fang cardboard props for people to hold up. It’s captioned “You can’t marry a man you just met!” 
Prim brings her hand to her mouth to catch a laugh before it turns into a cough. Her sister, Elsa costume sparkling in the flash, is pretending to shake her finger disapprovingly at her “Anna” counterpart. The laugh breaks free this time. Prim grabs for her tepid tea to soothe her throat as she cracks up over the really incredible image of Peeta Mellark, Delly Cartwright’s stocky older cousin, in a red braided wig, and strikingly accurate green rosemaled gown, sitting quite comfortably, if amusingly, over his athletic build. He’s pretending to gripe back at Katniss about why exactly he can marry Hans of the Southern Isles. Their mock scowls barely contain smiles. 
Prim quickly fires a text back to Finnick: How??? Did that happen??? 
Finnick’s text comes through a second later: The Lord works in mysterious ways! Idk!
Okay but like?? Yes??
I know!!!!
Some people are worth melting for???? 
Her cold never bothered him anyway? *finger guns*
Omg. 
Katniss arrives back at the house at five to midnight, and Prim pretends to be asleep, watching with one eye cracked half open as her sister unstraps her silver heels and dumps them by the front door, drops her keys into the bowl. Sets down a full bag of what Prim can only guess are cupcakes and sweets. 
She’s humming under her breath. It sounds like the chorus of “Love is an Open Door.” Prim wonders if it’s possible that her folk and indie music loving sister actually listened to a Disney album on the way home. Katniss unbraids her hair and shakes it loose, dropping the pins on the side table as she sinks into the squashy chair kitty-corner to Prim’s couch. She curls up, knees to chest, making her look like some sort of ice mermaid as she takes out her phone and taps something on it, still humming. Prim watches her chew her cheek pensively, as if deciding to send the text. She takes a deep breath and taps one final time on the screen, then drums her phone nervously against her lips for a moment. Prim’s nerves are firing with anticipation. 
They wait a silent minute. Two. Three. Three and a half — 
Katniss’s screen lights up again and she flips the phone up to stare at the reply. Her whole face softens. Eyes, brow, edges of her mouth. Katniss bites her lip and closes her eyes, letting her head fall back onto the chair cushion with a contented sigh. “‘You know what’s crazy?’” she sing-songs in a mumble under her breath. “‘We finish each other’s sandwiches … I’ve never met someone who thinks so much like …” She yawns. “Me.” 
“You know,” Prim says, and Katniss shrieks, sending her phone flying to the carpet, “Peeta Mellark strikes me more as a Kristoff than a Hans.” 
“Prim!” Katniss yelps, going red. “Wha — what? What do you mean?” 
“So we’re done with stupid plastic cat ears for Halloween then I take it?”
[the very next Halloween] 
“Whoa. Okay.” Peeta sits up from the pile of cushions at the head of their bed, eyes wide and staring in approval, pupils gone dark. “Katniss Everdeen in cat ears is not something I knew I needed until this moment.” 
“Oh sure,” Katniss laughs. “Because it’s definitely the cat ears that are doing it for you. Not these.” She hoists one stockinged leg up onto the bed like a mountain climber posing for a magazine. 
“Well, those are certainly part of the appeal,” he teases, reaching for her leg, running his hands up and down the silk tights. “As is this lovely number.” He toys with the hem of her dress, a strapless black velvet thing that falls just above her knee. “Where’s this from?”
“Jo,” Katniss sighs. “She says if I’m going to be a cat, I need to be a Gretchen Wieners level cat.” 
“For whose benefit, I wonder?” Peeta muses, cheek nuzzling gently at her lower thigh. 
“You wonder?” Katniss laughs, taking her leg away and flopping onto the bed. She glances over at him, eyes sly and somehow soft at once. “I don’t.” 
“I can’t help thinking,” he muses. “that this is something of a counterproductive plan on Jo’s part. Because now, I have a sudden and distinct interest in staying in tonight.” 
“Oh?” Katniss raises a come hither eyebrow and pushes up on her elbows to accept the kiss he plants on her lips as he crawls over her, urging her back to the headboard. “Is it the cat ears?” She reaches up to give the (already molting) plastic and faux fur ears a flick. 
“The Kat ears,” he says. He nips softly at her real ear and she shivers. “The Kat nose.” He kisses that too. His nose nudges her head back, inclining her neck at the perfect angle for him to plant a stretch of kisses down it. “The Kat neck.” His mouth wanders down the front of her dress and he scoots down the bed with it. “The Kat’s cradle.”
“You have that,” she says, hiking her legs up to hug around his middle because her arms can’t reach to hold him. “You’ll always have that.” 
“A piece of that Kit Kat bar.” He kisses her stomach. “The whole Kit and Caboodle,” he teases and she laughs loudly, but on a dime his tone is changing, from silly and playful into husky and dangerous, as he moves lower. “Kitten,” he murmurs and her fingers curl in the bedsheets at the name. “Grab my phone,” he tells her, hooking his fingers around the band of her tights, “Tell Finnick we’re going to be late.” 
An hour or so later finds the cat ears lost somewhere among the remains of their costumes and a hasty snack of pepperoni rolls cooking in the convection oven. Peeta, festooned in boxers and an old apron, presides over the food like it needs a baker’s supervision. Katniss perches on the counter, wrapped chest to toes in the white sheet she pulled from their bed, feet batting absently at the cabinets. 
“This is a good look too,” he tells her, gesturing with the salad tongs he’s using to handle the pepperoni rolls. 
“What is? This sheet?” 
“I was thinking more along the lines of sexy ghost.” 
“Or sexy Roman senator,” she laughs, tossing one edge of the sheet over a bare shoulder. “Sexy Julius Caesar.”
“You’d make a good Julius Caesar,” he says. 
“Why?”
“You’ve got that “came, saw, conquered” vibe. Least that’s how I felt that night at Finnick’s party.”
“Conquered?” 
“I was gonna say seen, but — yes. Conquered too. I couldn’t stop looking at you.” He snaps his fingers. “Sexy ice queen? Definitely.” 
“I’m not exactly sure what kind of Freudian analysis one could make on falling in love with the guy dressed as your fictional sister but — ”
Peeta shrugs as the timer beeps, and he sets to fishing the pepperoni rolls onto a plate for them to share. “I choose to think of it as a metaphor for how the two people you love most in the world are your real, actual sister …” He sets the rolls beside her on the counter and sets his hands gently on her sides. She lets the sheet fall and pool slightly around her waist to cup his face as he leans in to kiss her forehead, very gently, thumbs rubbing circles on her hips. “And some loser who has the luck of … oh, I guess having the same first initial and hair color as she does,” he jokes. 
“And the same beautiful heart,” Katniss corrects in a whisper. “I mean that.” She’s rarely so sentimental to anyone except him. She smirks. “And I haven’t even started drinking yet.” 
“Well, my pretty kitty,” he starts, wrapping both his arms around her middle and hoisting her off the counter. She rolls her eyes, even as her hands card through his hair. “The night is still young.”

show me that solvable problem: post-Frozen II canon divergence where Arendelle sank under the sea like a good little metaphor on sins of the father. kinda your typical “but what does it actually MEAN to step into ur power, mum” thing on both Elsa and Anna’s side, with a side helping of Honeymaren/Elsa, Kristoff discovering ~his past, and uh. a lot of political talk on indigenous knowledge and politics of redress (Arendellians are refugees now, Northuldra have been settler colonized for decades, what do?? that kinda stuff)–almost too much, but ultimately a reasonable amount!

ethically sourced kid!Elsa: stems from my…uh. inability to understand the appeal of present day Elsa meeting a POST-Incident kid!Elsa when obviously her meeting a PRE-Incident kid!Elsa has so much more inherent drama. kid!Elsa steps into an idk portal and shows up at the castle in the post-Frozen II world. it’s been a few years; Anna is VERY comfortable with her current life and is expecting her first child, so um. the child version of her older sister showing up out of the blue throws her into a not-insubstantial tailspin. present!Elsa superficially is more capable of keeping it in stride, but the elephant in the room of “well do we TELL her what’s coming” just looms larger and larger until it all ends in tears, because Elsa and Anna disagree about what to do, and it ends up being their first no holds barred FIGHT, where they both accuse each other of being selfish and they’ve somehow turned into the worst parts of their parents. Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf spend most of their time basically being Bow from season 4 of She-Ra; Honeymaren meets the kid version of her now-girlfriend, immediately and justifiably is like “wow! weird vibe,” grabs Ryder and leaves. poor, poor kid!Elsa is a) kind of a hellion, pre-Incident, which everyone forgot about, and b) comes to a whole slew of horrible realizations, beginning with the fact that her parents are both dead now, Anna is being weird and closed off around her, her present self is being less weird but apparently did something HORRIBLE that no one will talk about, and it’s. it’s bad. if someone has any advice on how to tag dialogue with two characters that are the same character, just time-displaced, that would be lovely, because the closest i came was that kid!Elsa would be called Kid Elsa ala Kid Flash and obviously present!Elsa would be The Elsa (and they fight crime! jk they cry a lot and kid!Elsa ends up throwing hands with her older self, by which i mean Elsa gets a nice taste of what being shot to the heart with ice magic feels like)
well this prompt feels custom made to talk about self-harm: the prompt was “angst, loss, scar,” so. five times Elsa didn’t scar. the self-harm part comes in a few times, but the reason i approached it at all was because i imagined Elsa going through a ~phase as an adolescent where she tore through every medical text she could get her hands on to find out what’s wrong with her, and it…spiraled into thinking some dark thoughts about what would happen, since the magic mostly comes out of her hands, if she…hurt them in some way. she ends up being too chickenshit to go through with it because she’s THIRTEEN, ELSA WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO BREAK YOUR THUMB. it ballooned out into a longer meditation on Elsa grappling with her not-quite humanity, where she’s never entirely sure what rules of mortality apply to her (all of them actually! Elsa u fucking melon), going all the way to post-Frozen II, where she’s…weirdly maudlin about her death leaving no trace on her physical body, until Anna shows up. they actually end up talking about Mattias, and the ways he’s visibly aged from his portrait (Anna commissioned a new one for him)–it all ends with something about how, like. yes living does leave its marks on you but maybe Elsa should stop thinking about it in such extreme ways, and also see a therapist
she drops the silver chain of sound: another *sigh* RWBY fic, this one charting Winter and Robyn’s relationship in universe, from Academy years to post-canon. i haven’t been able to find any fic about them that responsibly handles the nuances of Winter a) being abused a lot of multi-layered ways, but also b) being complicit in war crimes and her own transformation into an instrument instead of a person, and (as of V7) STEADFASTLY COMMITTED TO IT. basically starting from the place of “Robyn doesn’t owe Winter jack shit and is Busy, it’s Winter’s responsibility to change herself,” and trying to be realistic about the ways Winter would and would not let herself change. truth kink! it’s a thing with them. a lot of talk about agency and identity, and weird detours about how Cartesian dualism is a tool of the colonizer–but honestly, you can’t make one of your main mechanics be “an extension of the soul” and not expect me to inject some woo

a love sTRONGER THAN BLOOD SISTERS r u kitten me: to answer your PS about which fires i’m embleming: i started with Sacred Stones and then moved through Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn (still have no idea what a Fire Emblem is, which i think is v sexy of me). Radiant Dawn has some BONKER-TASTIC sapphic moments–your standard “i’m queen but i’m shy” archetype has a ladyfriend who is the CAPTAIN OF HER GUARD. Captain gets taken hostage, gets her hair lopped off (…by a professional hairdresser i guess, since this is what she looks like after) and sent to Shy Queen in a VERY STANDARD “i have your precious” moment and then has to debate over saving the Captain or the Kingdom and it’s just. so
anyways of course the extreme gayness goes blithely unacknowledged for the rest of the game, and the epilogue has the AUDACITY to say that their bond was “stronger than blood sisters,” which is…fine! it’s fine. the fic is mostly just about actually ADDRESSING the intimacy that they have through some hair washing.
PS: i’ve started Awakening, which a) looks promising re: knowing what a Fire Emblem, and b) has caused me to start a new WIP called “NO YOU’RE NOT YOU’RE OBVIOUSLY LAURA BAILEY”
PPS: appreciate the recurrence of Standard Nintendo Plot Pattern Sigma (gender fuckery to stop a bad time thing), which i THINK is what’s happening in Awakening–no one tell me if i’m right tho!!! i wanna keep speculating about whether ~~~Marth is my daughter or my grandma’s niece or Taylor Swift’s second cousin

so on Thanksgiving i saw Frozen 2 and it was AMAZING and I've only just now had the time and energy to finish my thoughts on the movie and share it with y'all so here it is. Disclaimer: Sorry for how long it is

Some headcanon i have about hans anna relationship both romantic/not romantic  post canon or AU
*there is not specifical context just some random thing if they may interact like anna comes in the southern isles as a politic visit and have to stay longer they have to team up , AU or they just interact.

Hans wants to keep his villain image and show the villainous side of him to anna because he is scared anna will see the true him and realize that he is pathetic , that he sucks at being prince charming but also at being a villain and there is nothing dangerous about him at all he is just the worthless throwaway prince. He dont want her to pity him and is also insecure and think that anna will find silly his hobbies. (Books ,reading, writing)

A part of hans is happy his plan to marry anna finally did not worked. Because once he go back to his home he realized that even as a king his family would not have respect him  and he would not have get rid of them so  this is most likely he would have makes anna endure his brother abusive behavior. And even his worst enemy he would not like him to meet his brothers.
When he learn about queen anna a part of him hoped elsa would not have run away and his plan could have worked so he feel bitter but at the same times he liked the idea if anna as a queen.
A part of anna wonder if Hans is not gay because of the kiss he refuse. 😅
Maybe this one will seems out of character also but i cant see anna as someone resentful or someone happy of others misery. In a frozen heart , anna said that if Hans family is that terrible let him deal with them with what he is the most scared of. So when she realize how terrible they actually are and that she just send Hans to hell she did have some remorse and hope to have put him on a trial to arendelle and jail in arendelle for his crimes not send him back home.

This is is absotly not definitive but since i can find any reasons for Hans to not have kiss anna and continue his plans playing the sad fiance and it the end getting everything he wants without revealing himself ..i have the idea of him fearing he actually loved anna and his kiss would have maybe work and since love is not something familar to him it kinda makes sense.
I have also an other headcanon that he didnt kiss her and was so harsh when he has no reasons was because it annoy him that anna kept making his secret plan harder and he relalize when anna go back that she using him as some prince charming fnatasy and in fact didnt like him.

On the contrary i have headcanon that hans really trust anna and is one of the rare person he trust. Like if he confess about his brothers that night and tell stuff about him she must be very trustworthy.
Hans did have enjoy a lot the night of coronation and had fun.

AU in which Elsa froze Anna's heart, but in the style of the original tale.
Let me explain. The whole movie is the same until FTFTIF reprise when Elsa freezes Anna's heart. This is the ultimate act of betrayal and rejection. Instead of Anna insisting on Elsa coming along, she's not only in extreme physical pain but she's also devastated. She's heartbroken. Her sister doesn't love her. All the years she spent on that door were years she wasted being stupid enough to believe she was loved. She leaves willingly. She leaves Elsa in the castle. Her heart is broken.
Her frozen heart is not only physically killing her inside. It's turning her cruel and bitter. Everything that she once found beautiful is now ugly to her. Kristoff and Olaf probably think it's just her bad mood after being rejected so coldly, but they soon realize it's something else. There's maybe a shift in this moment, in which Elsa becomes the protagonist while Anna becomes the antagonist. Not the villain, just... an antagonist. Like Kai in the original tale, she's not the girl she used to be. Only an act of love can thaw a frozen heart, but no one loves Anna. She slowly stops feeling. The sweet relief of apathy Elsa craved for all of her life. It's easier not to be in pain when you can't feel anything and through her life Anna has been so hurt, so unloved. And this lack of love is making her break down. She resisted for thirteen years, trying to be loving and happy and funny, but she can't anymore. Because for thirteen years, she clung to the hope that at least one person (her sister) still loved her. Now it's clear she had never held anything but contempt for her.
But that's not true. Elsa loves Anna more than anything. She'd do anything and everything to her. And in her attempt to protect her, she's killing her. And most importantly, she's breaking her heart. And it's her turn to fix her mistakes. To make up for everything she's done to her. To love her love her love her until her heart thaws and she can be happy again. She spent so many years protecting her physical safety that she neglected her beautiful heart, and now she froze it.
The Anna she sees when they meet again is not the Anna she knew. This one is cold and cruel and this is not truly Anna. This is the ice inside her heart. And Elsa still loves her more than anything in the world.
Elsa is the one to sacrifice herself for Anna. This is her act of true love that thaws her frozen heart. It's the proof that she still loves her. This is where Elsa stops running away. When she actively looks for Anna to protect her and save her and heal her. This is Elsa making up for everything everything everything she's done to her and all the pain she's put her through. This is her greatest regret. Elsa going back for Anna and commiting the ultimate act of true love for her is Elsa fixing her mistakes instead of running away from them and letting Anna pick up the pieces.
She might be wounded but she doesn't die. And Anna doesn't die either. She's a bit confused when she wakes up. Mostly, she's confused as to why she's allowed to rest her head against her sister's head and have her arms around her body. But she's back. Thats what matters. And her sister really does love her.
This is all highly metaphoric of course. Anna acting out if alignment is less character development on Anna's part and more the magic curse making her act that way and it's a metaphor for how all that pain and rejection and lack of love can break a person. And Idk how Elsa's sacrifice could be but she must live AND it mustn't have blood bc it's Disney. Maybe it includes falling down a cliff or into the sea?? But anyways, i'm happy with how the original movie turned out but I can't stop thinking about this scenario

So, Frozen 2. Speaking as someone who wasn’t even really a big fan of the first movie, I think this was okay.
The plot’s obviously extremely predictable. You don’t have a movie with a dam and not have the dam burst through some means, so I called that, and the royals are always in the wrong so I called the old Arandelle guys trying to genocide the Northuldrans, the moment Kristoff pulls out the ring at the start I knew they’d keep the proposal until the very end, it’s obvious that they’ll save Arandelle, Olaf’s revival from death was guaranteed, but because I don’t like Olaf (he’s I think even less funny here than he was in Frozen 1, can’t believe I waited out the entire credits to get another unfunny Olaf bit) I was happy that just for a moment he was dead, I got to enjoy what could have been. Et cetera. Just all predictable children’s movie plot stuff. But honestly, that’s fine with me. Execution is what’s important and I think that was better than the first movie in some ways. In particular I find the progression of events a little more interesting, it feels like more goes on than the first movie’s “girl runs away, her sister runs after her, her sister goes back home, and girl goes back home to save her”. The ending’s a bit weird and handwavy though, Elsa “belonging in Northuldra” feels kind of arbitrary as does Anna becoming Queen as well, though I’m willing to take them both as the 5th element with that bridge explanation, feels like a way to put equal value on both sisters, even if mainly in status. About the elements though, the Earth Giants not actually being tamed and kinda just giving up when the dam is destroyed is bitchmade. It’s particularly sad since I quite like the scenes of Elsa taming the other elements, particularly Water is a fun one. It’s also bitchmade that Air doesn’t get a physical form, like I get why, it is Air after all, but when you’ve got a cool water horse, generic earth golems, and a fire lizard I didn’t think was nearly as cute as all the characters in universe seemed to think, Air felt shafted. Maybe give it a cool bird or something idk. Speaking of those elements, this movie does a lot of worldbuilding to make Arandelle and its neighbouring territories a bit more interesting than just “Scandinavian setting”, particularly with regards to the elements and magic and character backstories and all that shit, though lowkey I didn’t really care since I’m never gonna be invested in Frozen fandom anyway. But hey, that was neat. Gives us a bit more reason to care about the world than “just because”. Character wise I wanna say the movie’s about even with its predecessor. Honestly though Anna’s worse. She’s cute as a kid, she gets a real sick gamer moment even, but past that she’s kind of annoying. I’m definitely biased because I like Elsa more but Anna comes across as really getting on Elsa’s case a lot of the time, hypocritically so I might add, since like the thematic climax is that they should trust and rely on the other more and not act independently, but Elsa acts independently and gets punished, but then when Anna independently tries to get the Earth Giants to attack the dam, she’s even more reckless than Elsa ever was, but you know, Anna’s in the right I guess because she told Elsa off? There’s also the matter of Kristoff, who spends the entire movie trying to propose to Anna, but can’t because he always words it just ever so slightly off that it sends Anna into some paranoia fuelled rant about, whatever? That wore thin quickly and made Anna come across as a goofy fuck. To be honest other than her gamer moment as a kid and the fact that her hair’s fucking, gorgeous, she’s pretty crap in this. Kristoff predictably sucks too, and his song is the most pointless of them all I wanna say, also it reuses footage of the first Frozen during it, he’s like reminiscing on his first meeting with Anna, and wow god did that drill home just how much better this movie looks in comparison. So yeah he’s lame, Sven the deer is still dumb, Olaf’s still dumb, most of the new characters are eh, I like them more than the first movie’s rock trolls but they’re not great, I kinda dig Mattias though. And then that leaves us, with Elsa. I love Elsa. She’s such a fucking babe in this movie, my god. She’s able to have more meaningful weight in the narrative as a protagonist, which is way better compared to the first movie where she’s kind of just an overglorified plot device, even if I still liked her then because Let It Go’s solid and she’s moeshit. She’s moeshit here too though, super cute as a kid, super duper pretty as an adult, I like her outfits a fair bit more, and thank fucking god they let her take her hair down, I’m fine with the braided ponytail but it’s like all she gets and Anna’s hair always feels way better in comparison so that was really appreciated. Also while the soundtrack broadly is kinda just, forgettable and worse than its predecessor, I think the best song would be Elsa’s second solo song, Show Yourself, which also accompanies a way prettier scene than anything the first movie really had on show. I’m sure people probably have their problems with Elsa in this, as they do her in the first, but hey I liked her in that and this is basically just, more Elsa and she’s more important, so that’s cool, I think her powers are conveyed really nicely also. Etc. Visuals are obviously massively improved in general, that’s it that’s all I want to say. I think I probably did like this more mainly because of the more visually interesting environments, better world in general, and of course, Elsa.
If I were to redo my Top 5 Movies Of 2019 list everything’d be the same except It Chapter 2 would fuck off and be gone and I think I might put this above Toy Story 4. Because I love Toy Story 1-3, so 4 is a disappointing sequel to a series I adore. Whereas I’m not really invested in Frozen so Frozen 2 got to be like a fine enough sequel to a movie I don’t care about, which just automatically makes it feel better. I’m so not interested in talking about this anymore lol. Cinema experience was eh, not too many kids but enough to where I had to hear excessive laughter every time Olaf was on screen pretty much, also a baby crying, and those were both really annoying, but like, eh. While I was in town afterwards I saw an Elsa Funko Pop from this movie in hmv and I considered buying it, but I realised that’d make me a fucking wanker so I didn’t.

Thank you for asking, Leslie! This took me longer than I expected, but I just can’t put my thoughts into words.
8. Did you meet any of your reading goals? Which ones?
Hmm, I don’t really have a clear goal. I try to read at least 52 books a year, but the results depend on what do I include. Should I count my rereads? Should I count DNFed books? And what about books for my uni – I usually read specific chapters/fragments. Oh, and what about audiobooks? Bc I listen to them more and more often, as I can do other stuff while doing so. If I count all of the above except of the rereads, then I’ve met this goal.
I do not challenge myself with reading challenges other than the number of books a year, bc reading has always been my escapism and I like not having to step out of my comfort zone in things I do for fun.
13. What were your least favorite books of the year?
I assume that you mean the books that came out in 2019? (sorry for this, sometimes processing questions in different language can be tough for me, I hope I got this correctly)
I didn’t read that much of this year releases, but out of them I’ll go with Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson and Serpent & Dove by Shelby Mahu (oh boy, this one sure is an unpopular opinion).
I found Sorcery of Thorns boring. I don’t even remember much of it. Just a book to pass time. Awkward interactions, a lot of plot conveniences and a weird-ass explanation of mc’s height and special attributes/power (idk how to call it).
And now, my unpopular opinion of what seems to be a tumblr favorite - Serpent & Dove. You know what, I was so excited about this book, everybody seemed to love it. And it was an okay book, but I was so disappointed ☹ For starters – the romance is rushed and underdeveloped. Reid is rather boring and extremely annoying. The hypocrisy of faith – nothing new, and yet my blood boils every effing time someone is said to be “a good person, a paragon of virtue etc” and yet considers certain ppl to be beneath others based on their traits (e.g. biological sex) and thinks it’s okay to kill a human being bc a fucking book says so??? Yes, I get this, character development happened, whatever. I am tired of “my religion says so” bullshit, especially when this is an existing irl religion that still negatively affects a lot of people. End of this little rant and back to my reasons. Interactions were sometimes so awkward and even cringey. This weird trope “that person you know is actually your friend’s parent” is tiring, plot convenient and boring. It happened TWICE in this book. Yup. But to say sth positive – I love Lou and she is the best thing about this book. Also the reason I wanted to read this – witches.

Definitely Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff (Queen of Nothing was the second one). Overall I loved it, but at the same time I hated this one subplot (the one about this certain book). In this regard I was disappointed. Some people see this as Kristoff messing with us, some kind of ultimate trolling or sth. I see this as running out of inspiration and ideas. The release was, after all, postponed a year. Maybe it was the pressure? I can’t even imagine how hard can it be to meet the fans expectations and the deadline when you lack inspiration/motivation or whatever it was. Or this could be on purpose. Whatever the reason, I cringed so hard while reading some scenes.
But this is only one aspect and I loved the rest! I expected it, and yet my heart was broken so hard. I love Mia and Ashlinn’s relationship. Overall, the relationships in this book are just
So yup, there were negatives, but the positives outweigh them for me.

That Girl - Chapter Four

Anna can see that Kristoff is tired when he leaves for work.  She is just as tired and her center is tender from their love-making.  It is a glorious feeling and she cannot wipe the smile from her face.
He gives her a key that he got cut the day before and she leaves his apartment to wander down the street. Soon she stops at the first bodega with a help wanted sign in the window, and wanders in.  
Anna meets with the owner and he gives her a once up and down before his nod seems to say that ‘she’ll do’ and then asks her to fill out all the proper tax forms.  She looks them over and is immediately confused, then also realizes that she does not even know Kristoff’s address to put on the top. She hands them back incomplete and tells the shop owner that she will get back to him when she has all the information.
He looks at her blankly and asks how she doesn’t even know her social security number.  She does not want to admit that she has no idea what that is.  Perhaps he can see the truth on her face because he tells her that maybe she should look for a job elsewhere.  It is clear the owner thinks that she is far too naïve to understand the basic responsibilities of work.
Anna wanders back to Kristoff’s apartment with her head hanging down.  Her mind turns to her wallet then and the small bit of money in it that she has been trying to ignore.  Suddenly, she has to laugh at herself for thinking of it as a small bit of money when in reality it is in the neighborhood of a couple hundred dollars. Kristoff could probably live for months off of it.  For her family it was simply considered a little walking around money.
She decided to keep ignoring it for the time being, knowing that sooner or later she was going to need to buy some things like more jeans and simple clothes.  The expensive items she had brought in her bag no longer hold any allure to her.  The truth was, they never suited her taste anyway.
Anna walks back into Kristoff’s apartment and thinks about how she is going to turn her life around. She knows that she needs to get a job. Although Kristoff has never breathed a word about it, she understands that he barely makes enough money to support himself.  What is he going to do with another person to support, another mouth to feed?  Anna does not have to wonder too long.  He will do whatever it takes, even if it meant him finding another job and never having any time off with Anna.
No, she will not let that happen.  She is bound and determine to find a job and there is nothing that will stand in her way.

Anna hits send before she can think better of it.  It only rings twice before she regrets trying to reach out and she flips the phone closed to hang up.  She shakes her head, about to turn it back off when it rings in her hand and startles her.
Her finger presses the green button reluctantly and Anna puts the phone to her ear.  
“Anna?  Are you okay?  Where are you?  Why did you run away?  What is going on?”
“Elsa,” Anna says her name with authority, something she has never had before in talking with her sister. “I just need my social security number. I know we aren’t close anymore, but if you could just get it for me for old time sake, I would appreciate it.”
Her sister is silent at her emotionless request until Anna hears her start to weep. 
Anna is shocked into asking, “What’s wrong?”
“I miss you, Anna. I’m sorry about everything… about how mother and father are.  I never liked to see them push so hard on you, but I was too afraid to say anything. I’m so sorry, Anna.”
Anna does not know what to say.  She doesn’t know what to think.  How her sister never said anything like that to her before she ran away, hurts just a little. Still, she understands being defiant in her parent’s wake.  She understands that more than Elsa ever will.  
“I’m okay, Elsa.  For the first time in my life I am happy… and in love.”  She adds the last part hesitantly, not knowing what her sister will think of it.
“Oh, Anna.  I am glad you are happy and that you have found love. I am happy that you are free and I want you to know that you can always reach out to me.  I will hold your trust in confidence.”
“You won’t tell Mom and Dad?”
“Not unless you want me to.”
“Oh Elsa, thank you.” Anna is surprised to head so much relief in her voice.  “Thank you for understanding.”
There was a knock on a door in the background over the phone and then Elsa’s hushed tone.  
“Listen, I will get you the number.  Have faith in me, Anna.  I won’t let you down.  And please, be safe.  I love you.”
Elsa is gone before Anna can respond and tell her sister that she loves her too.  She breaks down in tears, hoping that somehow it will all work out and she can be with her family again someday.  Even for all they put her through, she still loves them.

When Kristoff returns home, yawning and smiling, he pulls her into a passionate kiss that ends with them naked under the covers, bathed in the afterglow of their love-making.  
Anna truly has never known such happiness.
Kristoff goes to the kitchen after a time and unpacks two more Styrofoam containers.  It appears as though Chef Dan has gotten word around that her and Kristoff could use any help they could get.  
She turns her phone back on and checks her messages, deleting any that start with the sound of her mother or fathers voice until she hears the one that she has been waiting for from her sister.  In the message Elsa talks in a hushed tone, rattling off the number twice before she says she loves her and hands up.  Elsa has come through and Anna has her social security number.  
Anna then tells Kristoff about trying to get a job and he looks at her closely a moment before he sets his food down on the couch beside him and turns his body towards her.
“I talked to Gail this morning.  I uh, don’t know if it would be something you would want to do, but there is a job available on the cleaning staff.  You can do whatever you want of course, but I thought that it could be a start and-”
She strangles his words with a hug.  “Oh Kristoff, thank you!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  I would love to take that job.”
“It’s not easy work,” he manages through her crushing arms.
“Good!” she shouts, then presses her lips to his.

When Anna shows up for her first day, she knows exactly how to fill out the forms.  Kristoff told her what to do and she is able to complete them quickly and get a uniform.  Then she is shown the ropes and comes to understand in an instant what working for a living actually entails.
At the end of the day her back is sore from changing bedding and she feels somewhat dirty from scrubbing toilets, but she is proud of herself in a way that she has never experienced before.  Essentially, she feels like a million bucks.  Even more so than the reality of what would have been her trust fund.
She waits for Kristoff, already thinking about asking him if he would like to shower with her when they get back to his place, when she sees him emerge from the kitchen with an expression that stops her heart.
“What’s wrong?   What happened?”  Anna asks, trying not to panic.  She has never seen him look so troubled.
He grabs her hand and pulls her into the service hallway, waiting until the people who pass them are around the corner before he speaks without meeting her eyes.  “Your father came into the kitchen today in the middle of service and confronted me.”
Her hands fly up to her mouth as frustrated tears start to well in her eyes.
“He threatened to get me fired if I don’t convince you to go home.”  
Kristoff is still looking at the ground and Anna suddenly fears what his answer to her father had been.
She can barely choke out the words.  “What did you say?”
His eyes finally come up and settle on hers.  She can see his love, his defiance.  His fear.
“I told him that I would never make you do anything you didn’t want to do.  I told him that you are your own person and if you were to go back to see him, it would be your decision and yours alone.  I told him that I would never, ever, make you feel like you were being controlled, ever again.”
“You did?”
He nods, slowly and his eyes widen ever so slightly with seriousness.  “I need this job, Anna.  I need a way to put food on our table and a roof over our heads, but I need your love even more.  If I get fired, I will figure out a way to get us by.”
She is blindsided by the sudden anger that rolls through her.  “I will not let him get you fired,” she says through gritted teeth, already planning on marching over to his office and demanding that he leave them alone.
She’s already turning, ready to charge over there and scream, when his large hand comes out and grips her lightly by the arm.  She turns towards Kristoff and he seems to almost flinches at her anger, yet he remains calm and smiles at her. 
“Come home with me. We will figure this out tomorrow.”
Anna smiles, letting go of her rage.  Kristoff is right.  No good will come of confronting her father in such a way.
Home they go, then they shower together and soon find themselves damp and naked in his bed, coming together in love.  Anna asks him to go slow and he does.  She wants to savor their time together, knowing that they will both be asleep when they are done.  She relishes in the way he is taking his time.
She knows that he is enjoying it too, kissing her with soft lips and whispering ‘I love you, Anna’ over and over into her ear until they are both approaching climax.  He holds back, waiting for her, until her head lolls back while her body starts to pulse then he pulls his last restraint.  She can feel him throbbing inside of her as her own climax slows and she kisses his lips and waits until he is finished.
Anna makes a move to pull herself off of him but he holds her to him for a second and looks into her eyes.
“Why me?” he whispers with a sheen in his eyes.  He doesn’t have to elaborate to explain his feelings, she understands them.
Anna can feel his sadness, yet she cannot bring herself to cry about it.  She is just too happy, too in love.  In the end the why’s didn’t really matter.  What happened between them was love at first sight, pure and simple.
“Because you are you,” she says slowly, as she holds his tender gaze.  He stares back a moment and then his eyes register understanding.  He nods and Anna knows he will never ask her that question again.

A week goes by.  Anna and Kristoff work their asses off.  Every day he rides in to work with her and kills an hour before his shift.  Every evening she gets off work and spends an hour waiting for Kristoff to get off his. They return home, they eat dinner, and they make love.  
Anna has never felt more fulfilled in life.  
One night, Anna reads to him.  The next he reads to her.  They watch a Yankee’s game while they get drunk on beer.  They spend one of their respective days off cuddling in bed and telling each other everything about their lives.  The next, Kristoff takes her to his family home on Staten Island and introduces her to his adoptive family.  She falls in love with them instantly.
There are so many of them that she struggles with the names.  Kristoff helps her, whispering in her ear when he knows she has forgotten. She feels more welcomed in the first thirty seconds of meeting Kristoff’s mother, than she did in a whole lifetime of being with her own.
Anna cries mercilessly that night in his arms, telling Kristoff just how much she loves his family and how she wishes her own was even a fraction as wonderful as his.  Kristoff doesn’t breathe a word about how shitty her family life is.  Instead he tells her that going forward their family will be close, loving, supportive and understanding.  He doesn’t need to come right out and say that he is talking about future kids they may have, she understands that instantly.  The thought gives her a great amount of comfort as Kristoff holds her until she falls asleep.

Anna is just about to the kitchen in the service hallways when she hears her fathers voice.  He is as angry as she has ever heard.  Then she hears Kristoff’s voice and her heart drops. She tells herself to march around the corner and confront them, yet she is afraid.  She has too many emotions swelling in her at the moment to think properly.  Instead she creeps up to the corner and carefully peers around it.  
“Tell me where she is this instant,” her father is shouting.
“I won’t.  You can get me fired, I don’t care.”  Kristoff has his arms crossed against his chest.  He truly does dwarf her father in comparison.
“You don’t know what you are getting into with that girl.”
“That girl?  Well for your information, I am in love with that girl, and she’s in love with me.  There is nothing you can say or do to make me betray that love.”
“I didn’t want to resort to this, but if I must.”  Her father reaches into the breast pocked of his two-thousand-dollar suit.  “Here is a cheque for five-thousand dollars.  Just tell me where I can retrieve her.”
“I don’t want your money.”
“Make it ten thousand.”
“No. I won’t-”
“Twenty-five thousand, just to tell me where she is.”
Kristoff hesitates. Anna can see it is not out of contemplation.  It is out of anger.  Then he speaks through gritted teeth.  “I don’t care what you think of me and I don’t care about your money.  All I care about is her.”
“People are talking. Let her go so she can try and regain some respect.”
“I don’t care what people say.  We’re in love and I would never, ever treat her the way that you did!”
Anna’s father sneers and stuffs the cheque back in his suit as he stands as tall as he can muster. “It doesn’t matter anyway.  Soon or later she is going to get tired of you. She is going to get tired of having to eke out a living.  You can’t take a girl like that and think she’ll be satisfied with what little you can provide for her.”
“You don’t know her,” Kristoff says quietly, almost sad.  His anger seems to have left him.
“She is my daughter. I know her.”
“No,” Kristoff says, shaking his head slowly.  “You don’t. You never cared to know her.  You never cared to listen to her.  You don’t even know what her favorite colour is.”
“Easy, it’s green. Always has been.”
“Until you told her she wasn’t allowed to spend her time in Central Park anymore.  Now her favorite colour is purple like the violets that grow every year in the planter on her balcony.”
Anna smiles at the truth.
“Honestly, her favorite colour doesn’t matter.  What matters is-”
“Why?”
“Pardon?”
Anna can see Kristoff’s anger coming back.  “Why doesn’t her favourite colour matter?” he asks more firmly.
“Because,” her father almost stammers.  “It just doesn’t.”
“Well, it does to me. And that is why I will never tell you where she is unless she wants me to.”
“You are just a filthy line-cook!”  Her father’s anger has returned as well.  “You are nothing!  You will never, ever deserve her.”
Anna has heard enough. Before Kristoff can respond she is rounding the corner releasing the tenuous hold she has on a rage that she has been supressing nearly her entire life.
“How dare you!” she screams.
Her father recoils, shocked by her presence.  Or was it her voice?  She has never talked to him like this before.  He probably didn’t believe that she ever could.
He has no idea what she was capable of now.  
Suddenly his eyes take in her maid’s uniform and his expression shifts to disgust.  “What is the meaning of this?” her father hisses at her, while he gestures to her clothes.
“This is what I wear to work, father.”  She cannot help but to spit out the last word.  Kristoff puts his arm protectivity around her as she stands beside him.  It gives her even more confidence.
“You detest me so much that you would tarnish my name by becoming the help?”
“I no longer care for your name,” Anna tells him the truth.  “I don’t want to be associated with someone like you anymore.”
“Anna, this is ridiculous. Life is not this silly little fantasy that you seem to have come up with in your head.  You will come home with me this instant!”
“I will not.  Never again.”  Anna looks to Kristoff but he is still staring at her father with contempt.
“Anna, you will come home with me now, or else.”
She looks back to her father.  “Or else what?  You will take away my trust fund?  You will give away all my things?  You will disown me?  I have some news for you father… I don’t care.  I don’t want anything from you, I don’t need anything from you, and if you wish I no longer be a part of your family, consider it done.”
Anna turns to stride away and Kristoff moves with her, arm falling from her shoulders as she stalks ahead.
She half expects her father to chase them but he does not.  Kristoff and Anna soon find themselves out in the alley by the kitchen, holding each other.  Neither one of them speaks for a long time.  It is Kristoff who breaks the silence.
“You know, we can change your name anytime, if you like.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well,” he says, lifting a hand to rub the back of his neck.  “We could go down to a courthouse… and get married.  I know it’s not ideal… and I will absolutely plan a reception when I can afford it, but at least you’d have-”
Anna shouts, “Yes!” then pushes her lips to his.  She doesn’t care if they ever have a reception.   The thought of being Kristoff’s wife is all she could ever want. It tickles her.  It delights her.  It…
She pulls from his lips and looks at him with unease rolling in the pit of her stomach.  “What about your Mom?  Your family?  They will be disappointed, won’t they?  It’s selfish to do this without thinking about what it will mean to them… isn’t it?”
Kristoff shakes his head and offers her a tender smile.  “They will understand.  They have always taught us to follow our hearts.  My Mom will not be mad or disappointed.  She will be happy that she can officially call you her daughter-in-law. And I mean it, Anna.  When I can afford it, I will get you a ring you deserve and we will have a real ceremony and celebrate our marriage with all our family and friends.”
His face suddenly falls as he realizes his choice of words, or more specifically, the slightest reference to Anna’s family.  Anna is not saddened by them, however.  She knows that Elsa will come.  Perhaps even her mother.  She does not care if her father is there.  The realization that she is now free to live her own life, lifts her up again. She might as well be walking on air.
“When then?  When can we do this?”
“Tomorrow, when we are off work.”
“Yes.” Anna nods.  “As soon as we possibly can.”

If the Frozen Gang were part of Drizella's curse in Season 7, what would their life be in Hyperion Heights?
Well, the Fifth Dark Curse (goddamnit, there were 5 goddamn curses in Once Upon a Time, this is hilariously dumb!??!) was cast by Regina yet made in a context of revenge from Drizella, but not personally to the main characters... and I suppose that Drizzy didn’t know neither Elsa or Anna or Kristoff, as Arendelle apparently is far away from the Enchanted Forest. So in a realistic context, idk. I feel like their jobs and lives would be attributed randomly lol
But your question is fun, maybe we can pick some headcanons for them. Hmmm... Regina, a Queen, became a bartender; Hook, a pirate, became a policeman... It would be fun to have jobs and lives that really have nothing to do with Elsa’s, Anna’s and Kristoff’s actual lives, maybe even the opposite. Let’s see...
Elsa would have become an ice-cream seller under the curse, just for the irony of it all, with maybe the persona name of Iduna because Drizella was very in the I Hate My Mother mood. Also Iduna sounds a lot like Idina so let me roll in that headcanon alright lol
Anna would have been purposely cursed to live faaaar away from Elsa’s place - the dark curses are made to rip people’s happiness, remember? - to make sure they never meet and don’t break the curse. Maybe the other end of town.
Anna would have become a watchmaker or something like that, to underline how she lacks patience and precision and how most of her life had been marked by waiting, and named Joan under the curse (*shaking freezable fruit shapes* just becauuuse)
Kristoff would have become a security agent in a place that has a bad reputation, and hates his job because he doesn’t like to be just the muscles guy, and sometimes wonder how he even got to this job (*whispering* you got cursed bud that’s the whole problem), maybe his name could be Sven just for the fun idk

What do you think Mia and Tric are gonna do when they see each other again? Tbh I don’t think Tric has feelings for Mia since he is no longer a human(?) like when he saw her again he didn’t say anything, but maybe Mia is something else now too....
I mean. I think Tric is probably, definitely dead. And maybe somehow serving the Blessed Mother of Murder (I can’t remember her name rn). If he’s alive then I don’t think he’s 100% alive. I think he might be connected to whatever shadowy things now come out of his skin. Or he’s just a dead shadow knight soldier thing. My jury is still out on Ashlin, but I don’t think Mia will survive the last book, so I’m not…letting myself become too invested. LOL. It’s also TOTALLY likely that Ash could die, too. Watch Tric be the only not-survivor. 😂 I’m not familiar with Kristoff’s other works, so I’m not sure how he build and breaks ships so I have no idea.
I think if/when Mia and Tric meet again (cuz they did meet in the second book, Mia just didn’t know it was him), I think Mia is gonna have a “WTF?!” moment. She loved Tric. And then he died. And they never resolved their last argument and she felt bad about that. And then she killed his grandfather (and said all those uncharacteristically sort of sappy things about Tric before she killed him). And she finds out Ash killed Tric and then she starts sleeping with Ash. I CANNOT IMAGINE she won’t feel shitty or guilty about that. Like she’s not super emotional/she’s bad with emotions but I could see her closing herself off or being short with him or trying her best to act like she’s not effected by Tric’s sudden reappearance. I mean, it’s a PRIME opportunity for angst. I honestly want that. Let’s be real. I live for that shit.
But I honestly could see this going so many different ways. I’m also partial to Tric being like… half dead shadow person, half living-ish person. Idk. Kristoff’s mind is a dark and twisted place and I can’t fuckin wait to see how this series ends.
And also, when Tric saw Mia again he acted like a man on a mission. Like he was speaking for the Mother Murder or something. So he might be just another force trying to tell Mia where to go and what to do, and even if he’s the “right” force, that might piss Mia off.

Rey & Ben Solo | Kylo Ren (Star Wars Sequel Trilogy)
So uh I may be having a slight case of Feels™ over these two, though tbh I’m not entirely sure what those feelings are exactly.  I don’t know what exactly I’d most want, though I’d be interested in explorations of their evolving emotions in relation to each other, especially through Kylo Ren/Ben’s whole death/rebirth thing.  What-ifs are another thing; what if, say, Ben didn’t die?  What happens, then, since they’d have to actually deal with what he’s done?  Feel free to retcon the kiss (which I thought was rather devoid of chemistry; in general their dynamic came across to me more as weirdly sibling-ish, especially after the Death Star duel) to a hug or something, if you want.
If you want to go to a lighter place, I can also see all sorts of shenanigans emerging after they discover their Force-teleportation skills.
Also feel free to retcon Rey’s parentage, if that is where your heart takes you: might she be Luke’s secret child?  Leia’s?  A descendant of Obi-Wan Kenobi and, say, Satine Kryze?
Apart from that I’d prefer no full-setting AUs; canon divergence is fine, and if you go that route you can pick a divergence point as far back as you want.
Feel free to include whatever other characters are necessary for the story you want to tell.
(And also do keep in mind that you can absolutely cut off someone’s hand here, or for the Star Wars crossover farther down; in this franchise it is a goddamn motif.)

Adam Riley & George Russel | Relentless Steel (Super Powereds)
I’m utterly fascinated by the relationship these two have; the interplay of Adam’s… vendetta, maybe?  I’m not sure what the right word for it is… and the fact that George also serves him as a mentor/almost-parental, in some ways, figure.  And, you know, that Adam (maybe) kills him.  We don’t actually see that; for all we know he made a different choice.
Consider this an exception to my “non-canonical MCD” DNW, since it’s deliberately ambiguous in canon; you can kill George, if that’s where your muse takes you.
  Alice Adair | Legacy & Vince Reynolds | Jack of All (Super Powereds)
Their friendship/cousin relationship is Wholesome and I love it.  Any point in the timeline, post-canon, all of it is Good and Welcome.  Do they form a legacy children/villains’ kids club? They’re secret cousins; untangling the mess that is the past; so much juicy juicy stuff to work with!!

I love these kids, okay?  And I wish they could all just… be okay.  But of course they won’t be; we already know what becomes of them, after all.
There’s a lot to explore here, with these three in their varying combinations of course.  Right now I’m most interested in the pre-Wild Magic timeline—what was Varice and Ozorne’s dynamic before Arram came along? what little snippets of things happen offscreen during the timeline of Tempests and Slaughter? how does Arram gain his black robe; how does Ozorne feel about that? Varice? how does Numair end up in exile, and how do the others feel about that whole affair?—but really I’d also be interested in something set during or around the time of Emperor Mage, from any of their POVs.  We get all the story there from Daine, who is great! but she doesn’t know the history between the three of them, not intimately as they do, and I’d love any of their emotional reactions to being together again under such strained circumstances, so many years after everything fell apart.
  Numair Salmalín & Myles of Olau (Tortall)
He was on a mission, was he not, when he became that hawk at the beginning of Wild Magic?  (please ignore if I am Wrong there.)  So how did they meet?  Why did Numair become an agent?  All sorts of questions, here…
  Prince Stiloit Tasikhe & Varice Kingsford (Tortall - Pierce)
Stiloit seems so… calm, and level-headed, especially when compared with Ozorne who is not.  And he clearly finds Varice interesting, and her company valuable.  So maybe tell me something about that—what does he think of her?  She of him?  What if, perhaps, he didn’t die when he does?
  Keladry of Mindelan & Nealan of Queenscove (Tortall)
They have a BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP and also ye gods when I reread First Test at like 19 (having first read it at 10) I was struck by how very, very fifteen Neal is in that book and it’s hilarious.  But more seriously—Neal’s PoV on things would be fantastic, since we only see him through Kel’s eyes and he doesn’t let her see everything about himself.

What a beautiful mentorship relationship, I love them.  Also, how does Raoul feel about this open girl page?  Who’s so determined, and has such potential in how she could become more, in an area he knows about (that being military command)—how does he feel about her, living her best life; how does he contextualize it in his intimate knowledge that Alanna could not do what she is doing—and yet it was Alanna, with her deception, who allowed this to be.

In general: I’m not super picky about how shippy the shipfic gets; most of the ship prompts here would, I think, work as well for gen, excepting the suitor and the princess (which is not to say I’m asking that it be gen, obviously I’m not, but if your muse takes you that direction then go for it).  Likes I put up top still apply down here.
In terms of settings, I especially like high fantasy, space fantasy, or, if relevant, Classic Superhero City Setting, but I’m open to just about anything.
I’m also not tremendously picky about the genders of the characters involved; if it isn’t stated within the prompt, go wild, but please do stick to standard English pronouns; I have a lot of difficulty reading things with neopronouns.
Most of these pairings are prompts in and of themselves, but I’ll add in some bits of commentary for each one.

So uh from my general likes, it should be… fairly obvious what called to me here lmao.  But there’s such potential here!  The drama!  Do they know each others’ real gender?  Do they know that they’re on opposing sides?  How does this romance across the battlefield work?  Is it even across the battlefield—are they at war, or just generally enemies?
  Female Failed Chosen One & Female New Chosen One
Such delicious depths to delve here… why did the first one fail?  What’s her relationship with her successor?  What have they been chosen for?  The setup of this makes me think that the failed chosen one is an adult of some age that’s distinctly older than the new one, who I’ve been imagining as an older child or young adult, but you should follow your muse there.
  Female Ship's Captain & Grumpy Stowaway Orphan Rebel
What kind of ship are they on, anyway?  Sailing ship?  Spaceship?  What’s the orphan rebelling against—an Evil Empire?  The Man?  Something else?

This seems like… I don’t know, there’s just such potential for dancing around each other and Misunderstandings™ about what’s going on.  Is this the princess’s Gay Awakening?  Has she known for a while why she’s not into the male suitors?  Why was this female suitor selected for the insult?
  Injured Male Superhero/Male Supervillain Who Saves His Life
I love superhero identity shenanigans, and ambiguous morals, and I’d love to dive into the emotional turmoil that results from this rescue decision—why does the supervillain do it?  How does the hero feel about being saved by his enemy?
  Musician/Dancer with magical powers (Original Work)
Another trope I love that I didn’t mention before is magic music and magical arts in general, so this here is right up my alley.

For reference though I haven’t watched all of either show: I’ve seen the first four seasons of Arrow in their entirety and some of what comes later, and I’ve seen the first two seasons of Daredevil.  You can reference later events, I’m not currently really following either show and am not particularly worried about spoilers, but without some degree of context I’ll be fairly lost.

Look.  Look.  All I have ever wanted since I started watching My Hero Academia (which… I haven’t seen much of, but don’t worry about spoilers I legitimately do not care) is to see Vince meet with the character who I immediately internally dubbed tiny green Vince.  How did this happen? Frankly I neither know nor care.  I just want to see it happen.

1. are you going to surprise me today? - Twelve/Clara, diner AU
Clara has a crush on one of her regulars at the diner where she works, a new professor at the nearby college, but does he feel the same about her?
I’m honestly surprised this one is the most popular, but I tend to forget that the Twelve/Clara fandom is just as passionate as the Ten/Rose fandom. But I love this ‘verse, and I’m happy this fic is so popular.
2. like sunshine - Rapunzel/Eugene
Rapunzel feels like she's ready to take her relationship with Eugene to the next step.
To this day, I am boggled by the popularity of this fic. I love it, I’m proud of it, but I just can’t quite wrap my head around why it’s one of my most popular fics (it’s got the second-most amount of kudos, but the most hits), but I’m definitely not complaining.
3. step on the sparks - Nine/Rose
He that is not jealous is not in love.
One of my favorite older fics, and I’m glad it’s so popular.
3. a second chance - Twelve/Clara, diner AU
Two years into their relationship, Clara has a surprise of her own for her John.
This one is tied with ‘step on the sparks’ for number of kudos, so they’re both #3. Second fic in the diner AU ‘verse, and I’m happy people like it as much as the first fic.

The Doctor still needs to figure himself, and Clara, out.
I wrote this right after the S8 premiere, when Twelve was still new, and everything was so uncertain. It was the first Doctor Who fic I’d written in 3 years, and Twelve and Clara are what kind of got me back into writing Who fic, so I’m really proud that this fic is so popular.
5. oh, but those girls are trouble - Ten/Rose/Clara cat burglars AU
DI John Smith has been investigating a series of robberies over the last several months, but all he knows about the thief - or thieves - is that they call themselves Impossible Wolf. In the midst of the investigation, he strikes up a flirtation with a waitress named Clara, and then with her 'friend' Rose. Eventually, he begins to suspect there's more to them than meets the eye, and faces an internal battle of duty versus desire.
I am IMMENSELY pleased that this fic is so popular, given how much... drama this OT3 has caused. This is also the longest fic I’ve written in a good many years, so it’s definitely my baby, and I’m glad that people like it.

This was just a fun little crossover idea that wouldn’t let me go, so I had to write it XD

It's the Doctor, Rose, and Clara's anniversary, but unfortunately, things haven't gone as planned.

Alexis and Kate comfort each other while Castle is missing.
I forgot about this little ficlet. There was a lot of time unaccounted for in the months where Castle was missing, and I felt the need to write something with Alexis and Beckett just being there for each other.
This was fun, and it’s interesting to see which fandoms are at the top vs. which ones are at the bottom.

Despite my increasing annoyance towards my guilty pleasure movie Frozen, I still like Hans... despite him being... terrible.. and the “twist” being.... stupid... I just like Santino Ok...
Like.... I know its like 4 yrs too late for me to care abt this but the foreshadowing is all from the 20/20 vision of hindsight, there’s nothing even slightly unsettling abt his character beforehand nor is it very well set up.... Like. Consider Jefferson’s foreshadowing from Life is Strange vs. Hans. Granted, Jefferson had 5 episodes of gameplay to establish everything, but there was so much room to strike a balance between “mostly seemingly nice but somewhat unsettling” Jefferson and “very clearly a skeezbag” Gaston in terms of deceptive bad guys. & yet they like.... didn’t even try...
Gaston is introduced killing an animal & hidden in shadows. Jefferson is constantly couched as this hip cool teacher all the students love, but his dialogue is always slightly unsettling, even BEFORE you know he’s a despicable demon-man his line about framing the students in a dark corner is fucking weird, he clearly victim-blames Kate, and the majority his photography is of scantily clad women in positions of submission. There’s nothing unsettling about Hans beforehand.
And in the case of Twist Antagonists, usually you should like... maybe consider at least trying to go for a bait and switch. Like.... a red herring might be useful? I mean it’s not required, but Nathan and David are already framed as much more obvious threats so Jefferson seems like a non-issue by comparison. BH6 had Krei, even tho the twist was pretty predictable. There was this Duke guy who lets face is comes across as a total non-entity. He’s annoying & unmemorable to everyone in the story too! so like... anyways, my point is that the red herrings should at least be convincing..... When your red herring is framed as a nuisance & disposable, why should the audience take the bait?
And Hans as a villain doesn’t even like... NEED to be there. Elsa already functions as an antagonist despite not being the villain. It’s just like Disney was like “... well we gotta throw a prince in there SOMEWHERE. But nice princes are so old-school. Lets make him the bad guy.” and its like.... a warning for young girls not to marry the first nice guy they meet? She also barely knows Kristoff so.... crisis not averted? i s2g these movies. The need for heterosexual romance in every movie ever is too much for me. And then like... there’s the fact that the entire thing could also work as a misunderstanding as well & he doesn’t really need to be a villain its just in the movie for shock value. The whole “don’t marry the first guy you meet” message works equally well either way?
Am i just bitter b/c i liked the guy? Maybe. The main reason I didn’t fall for the bait was b/c the red herring was so obviously fake & was like “he’s too pretty for his own good. bet he’s the bad guy!” and not because it was like.... genuinely well set up. It’s like, wow, they went out of their way to make him EXTRA nice & i wasn’t tricked, that’s how bad it was....
But its the same thing as the forced villains of the 90s. When the conflict of the story is mostly internal, (aka identity and finding oneself), a hamfisted villain feels unnecessary and weakens the story.... It sort of ties in (in terms of identity) because Anna *kinda* wants her validation to come from a man/love as opposed to herself but the lesson feels retconned when she immediately gets with Kristoff at the end?? And Hans casually just mentioning his past abuse from his family as opposed to Anna & Elsa’s whole theme of the movie being *sisterly love* but its such a miniscule aspect of his character that its like... why does this matter? Also he’s charming as a good guy but mostly boring as a bad guy. Partially bc like ALL of the character designs in the movie suck hard.
And then like... by the end they’re trying to play it all “realistic” b/c there are 0 songs & Hans isn’t a “prince charming” I mean wake up anna that’s all just a fantasy right??? sorry its hard for me to buy the “realism” when he basically goes into “you sly dog! you got me monologuing!” mode the moment he even has a instance to be cruel. Which is.... actually pretty uncharacteristic, b/c he’s generally framed as more clever than that.
