my toxic trait is i get really annoyed when ppl make atsushi and akutagawa's relationship about dazai

i keep seeing people saying that they killed izzy for shock value a la game of thrones and i just— not every character death is there for shock value?? just because you don't expect it doesn't mean it's specific purpose is to garner shock value.

izzy very clearly represented piracy. he was steadfast and staunch in his ways and he held onto the traditions of piracy with a TIGHT fist throughout the first season and the start of the second. not to mention, s2 was ALWAYS leading to this theme of "the end of piracy". the clues were there the whole season!!! and by that logic, if izzy = piracy, then end of piracy = end of izzy.

im not happy about his death!! im disappointed hes gone!! i loved him, he was probably my favorite character this season!! BUT i do understand why djenks did it. and it was NOT a "for shock value" kind of thing.

some people are reeeeal quick to like get super defensive and jump onto this "omg it was for shock value! there was no other purpose! what bad writing! what a bad writer!" bandwagon when things they don't personally like or agree with happen on their favorite shows, but honestly not everything you don't like is "bad writing" or "just there for shock value" or "purposeless". maybe take a couple minutes to think critically about it and to like analyze the choice within the frame of the whole season and the whole show and its themes before making those kinds of (oftentimes baseless) accusations?

it's one thing to be upset with something that happened and to not like it, and it's another thing entirely to then blame it on bad writing or a clueless, vicious writer who doesn't care about their characters or their story or their audience.

hey remember the scene in barry where fuches fully is shot and dies in the cold open and then later in the episode wakes up on a cowboy ranch being taken care of by a kindly mexican family who offer to let him stay there forever and wed their daughter and escape the narrative etc and for like 5 seconds he appears to gain a new lease on life only for him to just immediately steal their car and leave because he hates barry so fucking much anyway do you think it’s a winky parodic reference to this bcs plot point or nah

as big as the friend confession scene is i love this part best. laios is ofc still under the impression that kabru likes monster food and went thru this big effort to make something special for him and then kabru goes out of his way to be so warm and sweet, and frankly a bit flirtatious like i know he thinks that exit killed it

and hes kinda right bc laios cannot stop staring after him when he leaves and i cannot attribute all that to him being confused about what kabru meant by "dont forget me next time". like laios means it if he says something like "meeting you was the best part of this" those are not empty words even if hes under a false impression about kabru--i dont think its just that kabru shared his interest that has his attention either. i think its bc kabru really engaged with him. i dont think his opinion wouldve changed much if kabru said "nahhhh im good i wont eat a monster cool for you tho have fun" instead of saying he would try it

and kabru despite being a stranger he helped get thru to shuro about falins resurrection

and he does it with a sensitivity and care that laios wishes he was capable of and he know it limits him as a leader

the thought laios keeps having about kabru isnt "wow he loves monsters too!" its "wow he is sooooo nice :3" which he is! at this stage he likes kabru bc he feels heard by him and kabru has qualities he knows he lacks but admires greatly and didnt make fun of him or call him weird for his interest in monsters

the way kabru acts and thinks about laios at this point feels allegorical to how people feel in new relationships. can i trust you? are you who you seem? if i tell you how ive been hurt, will you use this to hurt me or to protect me? i dont know yet, but i like you so far, so im going to show you the self that i think you'll like best. i want to impress you. i want you to trust me so maybe i can trust you

so much of dungeon meshi is about the way that we accidentally hurt our loved ones because we cant always understand them, or we dont know whats best for them when theyve been hurt in such complex ways, or because were too scared of being hurt again to tell them not to press into the bruise (see: chimera falin, falin giving up parts of her life to suit/protect marcille and laios bc she loves them, laios driving marcille deeper into the winged lions grip TWICE with his advice in the nightmares and again with the dungeon rabbits, everything chilchuck has ever done in his whole life, laios' father's everything also, and this is a labru post so ofc kabru lying about wanting to eat monsters to impress laios) i wouldnt be surprised if the allegory was intentional

anyways this part of their relationship budding into a toxic little flower theyll have to prune later is very cute to me and i really like reading it again knowing how they turn their relationship around later into one built on a mutual understanding and trust

I want to assume that ppl celebrating the verdict of That court case are just uninformed and don't just plain old hate women but man... I feel like if u know enough to know who won how do u not also know that both courts found that he literally Did abuse her and what kind of fucked up precedent this sets for any other female abuse victims who try to speak up about it?? Also I'm going to be honest here I thought we all knew by now that anytime the far right is shitting their pants with excitement over something it's probably NOT a good thing like that alone should have tipped people off

Okay let me just go on a tangent about my feelings about the post-series Luffy separation arc, cause I think it gets way too much hate when it’s such a heartbreaking and well executed deviation from oda’s standard formula!!! I know that we all love monkey d. luffy and he’s LITERALLY the main character of the series, but it was also really nice to get more time to focus on the rest of the crew. But here’s the thing, even when Luffy wasn’t here, he was still here. And I’m not talking about the so called ‘blessings’ or whatever that kept SUSPICIOUSLY popping up around the crew when Luffy disappeared, I’m talking about the consequences that arised from him disappearing. We truly got to see how grand the effect luffy has had on the world around him, and how many lives he was able to touch ; - ; So even though luffy physically wasn’t present (I mean KIND OF but you know what I mean), this was still VERY MUCH a luffy arc imo.

Oh man but I think Oda wrote luffy’s disappearance so well,,, I was sobbing for like 80 percent of this arc. Like just gradually seeing the crew’s deterioration as time passes by,,, but everyone has such unwavering faith in their captain, he HAS to come back cause Luffy always comes back. But here’s the thing, Luffy didn’t know what was happening to him when he started disappearing. But what he DID know is that he wasn’t sure if he was gonna be able to come back or not. And Luffy hates breaking promises- he’d never make a promise if he didn’t plan to keep it, and he’s not an idiot either, so when he just felt himself disappearing and saw zoro nearby... Instead of saying something like “I’ll be back!” and potentially making his crewmates wait for him forever, he tells zoro to “take care of the crew”... SOBBING AND CRYING T - T. So YES. the crew has unwavering faith in their captain. But. Luffy didnt say that he’d be coming back or anything. So what are they supposed to do really.

And it’s really hard to read at some parts, like it never loses the goofy tone that has been there throughout all of one piece and it’s really sweet to see everyone rely on each other to keep one another afloat, but the slight tension that keeps building up over the months while they keep looking for clues and answers... And how each lead keeps becoming a dead end... When it builds up and Usopp finally voices the thing that’s on everyone’s mind.

Oh man. I started crying so hard. It took 6 month for any one of them to say something. Like this is One piece. Of course Luffy is gonna come back eventually, it would be waay too dark otherwise... But Idk man, even I started to doubt that :((( But luckily. THIS IS ONE PIECE. So right after everyone started,,, well not exactly losing hope or anything (maybe a bit)? but going BATSHIT INSANE FROM THE REALITY THAT THEIR CAPTAIN MIGHT BE GONE FOR GOOD, they finally got a solid actual clue of what might’ve happened to luffy!!! And I’m SO GLADDDD!!!!

Omg and when they tracked down the pray-pray no mi user and finally got some answers out of him. OMG WAIT A MOMENT I REALLY LIKED IS WHEN PRIEST GUY IS LIKE “urerheg without luffy up there as a god the entire world may very well be destroyed cause the sun has been super unstable for centuries blah blah” and then Nami freaking PUMMELED THE GUY AND SHOVED HIM DOWN WITH HER STAFF AND

SOBBING CRYING SOBBING. THEY WOULD POTENTIALLY BLOW UP THE ENTIRE WORLD IF IT MEANT THAT THEIR CAPTAIN WOULDNT HAVE TO BE LONELY ; - ; KILL ME.

URGH I was really hoping that Luffy would return right once they beat him up cause I really really missed my boy, but honestly I think the final method of getting Luffy to return was super clever and absolutely worth the extra 3 weeks of waiting!!! I know that it was foreshadowed across the whole West Blue Saga and everything but I honestly had no clue it would end like that, DONT MAKE FUN OF ME :(((

When the crew finally got their captain back after 8 months of waiting... I mean they’ve been separated before for even longer periods of time, but they always knew that they’d be back together. This time they didn’t know. BUT AREHAHRGE ALL THE PAIN AND SUFFERING WAS SO WORTHIT WHEN THEY ALL FINALLY REUNITED T - T!!!!!! UWAHHWHAHWUAAGGHA!!! AND SEEING ALL THEIR ALLIES AND FRIENDS THEYVE MADE JUST CHEER AND CRY WHEN THEY HEAR THE NEWS!!!! I WOULD CHUCK ALL THE PANELS HERE IF I COULD BUT ID JUS T REACH THE IMAGE LIMIT BECAUSE ALL OF THEM MADE ME CRY ; - ;!!! Literally just read those 5 chapters in the arc finale cause,,,, man so good T - T

ok so this is a purely selfish ask but ive been reading on how DU drow thinks about other drow and how he hates drow women and thinks little of drow men, what would his reaction be to transgender drow? i dont imagine it being very positive based on what youve said about him thus far

I'm not sure! This depends somewhat on one's personal opinion of what drow culture would even treat transgender people like, and I've seen a few interpretations of what that could look like.

If we go with the most obvious one (Which is: probably very badly) then he'd assume you've been thoroughly ostracized from that society and not necessarily apply any of his former prejudices to you. He'd be immensely confused at the prospect of a transgender male drow, but it's important to note here that DU drow is himself someone who could wake up as a woman tomorrow and not give a damn, so I think the concept of willingly stepping DOWN from a place of status would puzzle him, as he doesn't see that sacrifice as being particularly worth the cost, seeing as gender is inconsequential to his own identity.

Transgender female drow he could understand, though. He might assume you did it to have a slightly easier life, but because he has no concept of how gender internally affects a person he wouldn't care to interrogate anyone on it.

And if you're a drow who doesn't identify as female or male he'd be like "damn buddy you really don't give a shit" and then I guess you get too-counter-cultural-for-me-to-be-racist-towards privileges.

May I ask what aspect in a man would make him someone who want to take care of his wife financially? A provider kind of man i heard of venus aspecting jupiter making a man provider?

This is such an interesting question! I will answer this based on my own personal experiences, opinions and what Ive seen so it might not be true for everyone!

What energy a man have touching his Venus & 7th house says a lot about his view on relationships and roles in a relationship. I also think planets in the 2nd or 8th house because of how we view ”theirs & ours”.

Here is my experience with the Venus aspects:

Venus aspecting Pluto: The men I met with Venus Square Pluto had nothing against providing for a woman, i think this might be because of the control it gives and keeping his wife in the house which lessens the chances of her meeting other men since these men can be kinda paranoid. I dont know about the conjunction tho because with the conjunction Ive seen both men who were ok with providing and men who was against it and found women who want to be provided for ”golddiggers”. I also noticed these men very likely to be baby trapped and therefore forced to provide. They love a manipulative woman even tho they swear they hate manipulative people they aaaalways end up with someone shady.

Venus aspecting Saturn: This might seem shocking but men with Venus aspecting Saturn were actually least likely to be a provider and Ive seen men with this (especially the hard aspects) have their wife be the provider. Ive also noticed that these men love a hard working woman and can be kind of lazy, especially if they have Libra placements. Ive mentioned it before in my posts that Ive had men with Venus/Saturn ask me about about how much i make etc on the first date which for me is a no no.

What I find odd with Venus/Saturn men is that I find them to be VERY traditional about everything except from money, like wanting to get married before moving in, wanting their girlfriend to convert incase shes from another religion, caring about social status, not liking ppl with a bad rep etc, but when it came to money they completely lost this traditional mindset. I dont think this is purely bc of them being lazy i think its bc Venus/Saturn men tend to be attracted to the typical strong large and in charge business woman since thats typical saturn. They love a milf.

Venus aspecting Jupiter: These men can be VERY generous and they enjoy giving. Some of the most generous people so mer had this placement. Ive only seen this with the Square and Conjunctions tho so I cant speak on the other aspects. Men with Venus aspecting Jupiter loves to spoil all their loved ones. But the man I dated with the conjunction had this conjunction in his 6th house so he loooved to work which is also why he could provide. He tied his self worth(venus) to his ability to work and be of service(6th house) so house placement plays a huge role. A man with this conjunction in the 8th house would probably have a huge appetite for other peoples money and in being on the recieving end & probably used to being spoiled himself.

Venus aspecting Neptune: This one is a wild card. Ive seen men with this one who wants to be saved by a woman and men who themselves wanted to be a saviour. These men could be generous as hell if paired with a Jupiter aspect and sometimes to the wrong woman because they overidealize people. But this aspect can also make someone very lazy and make them dream too much. Some men Ive met with Venus conjunct Neptune loves a damsel in distress and therefore wanted to be a provider for her while other men with this placement were completely helpless and wanted a strong woman to take charge. So with this one I have to say i dont know if they are provider or not, it depends on what other planet their venus aspects. I think venus/neptune and a saturn/venus aspect can make a man a real leech especially if his venus is in the 8th house.

Venus aspecting Uranus: These men have a very modern view on relationships (depends on rest of the chart ofc) and are therefore likely to feel like we are past the whole men being providers thing. This is another wild card. Ive seen men with this (the conjunction and Square) who even had a woman provide for them. They are less likely to feel ”ashamed” for not fitting into whats considered the norm. I actually know of two guys right now with the conjunction who moved in to a womans apartment and shes the sole provider. They dont find that weird in any way while the men i know with venus square pluto would feel embaressed.

So yeah in MY opinion Venus/Pluto is the most likely and Venus/Saturn the least likely. I also think Juno plays a role here, the providers i checked the charts of had their Juno in signs like Cancer, Virgo and Pisces. Oh and another interesting thing i found: women with Juno in the 10th house had nothing against providing for a man. I also think synastry plays a huge role here. 💜
