I can't wait to see just how much Law remembers in the Speedrun AU! I'm also wondering if you had to change plans for certain characters after 1079 and 1080?

ooooo I also can’t wait to see how much Law remembers!!! Just thinking about the speedrun potential within his fruit is so funny to me!!! And no I’m not changing any plans for certain characters cause,,, ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ I had no concrete plans in the first place LOL.

I’ve had to change plans for like some mechanics though (well atleast in my head). Like I’ve been rereading the whole one piece manga cause I blazed through reading it within two weeks my first time and didn’t absorb as much of it as I would’ve liked. It was in the tags of one of my earlier speedrun posts so I doubt many people caught it, but I talked about me headcannoning haki being a completely spiritual thing so the crew could skip over training haki and just train like, idk their muscles or something. This is cause I wanted them to be stupidly op for my speedrun au ofc, but I’m rereading canon and Rayleigh is like, u cant train conquerers haki like the other 2 hakis, it’s more of a measure of ur character. SO BASICALLY, luffy and zoro wudnt have to train their conquerer’s haki to get back to it’s original strength, but the others would.

And then I literally just finished rereading through dressrosa and I can’t believe i missed doflamingo talking about awakening but I DID and I was so hyped when rereading that. But watching that battle and also remembering all the limits in the enies lobby battle is making me think about how weak luffy was. Idk if 15 yr old luffy could reeaaaallly handle doing this much… BASICALLY IM WORRIED ABOUT THE POWER SCALINGS OF EVERYTHING URGEHEHEHHEHEH!!!!

but then I realise that this is a SPEEDRUN au so like who cares amirite.

They all do this ^^^^ kind of running whenever theres danger. BOOM, powerscalings solved.

TW: Long Ask Okay, so basically, this au has a long title but I dubbed it Child of the Sword. It started off with Zoro being able to see the spirits of the swords since in One Piece, swords are sentient and are possessed in a way. Only Zoro can see these spirits and talks to them all the time. At first, he didn't realize others couldn't see them. My friend and I played around with this a lot, and now's it's developed into a whole thing.

When Kuina died, Zoro's anger and grief erupted and Zoro discovered he was the incarnation of the Ancient Weapon: Ares. Created by the war god Asura. The sensei makes Zoro swear to never use his power in public unless it was life or death. Zoro goes on to see Kuina's spirit tied to Wado Ichimonji. During the shells town arc, Morgan is extra cruel bc he is Morgan, and when Zoro is tied in the courtyard he has the swordsman whipped on the back, marring and littering Zoro's back with scars. Zoro's honor is in shambles when Luffy shows up and helps him. During Baratie, Zoro fights Mihawk and loses, ending up with the scar on his chest. After Zoro promises to never fail, he whipsers "Finally a worthy scar" and Mihawk overhears. Mihawk almost noted how Zoro always seemed to be looking at things that aren't there. So naturally, the warlord decides to kidnap Zoro instead of Luffy (yes I am mashing up OPLA and the anime, fight me). The Straw hats go on the free Nami from Arlong then make plans to get Zoro back from Mihawk. Zoro is less than pleased to be kidnapped by the strongest swordsman. Mihawk brings Zoro with him to meet with Shanks about Luffy's bounty poster and Shanks convinces Mihawk to give Zoro back to the Straw Hats, but before that happens, Mihawk and Zoro end up talking about Zoro's special abilities. Mihawk comes to the realization of what Zoro is and keeps it to himself. During the two year time skip, Zoro reunites with Mihawk (even though he never stopped talking with the warlord after being dropped off ((begrudgingly)) at lougetown). Mihawk trains Zoro in the way of the sword AND helps him to realize his full potential. This is all I have for now, but I have ideas for Dressrosa and Wano. :D

oooooh this is so interesting! you could play a lot with the idea that zoro sees sword spirits! i'd also be so curious to know what zoro sees of yoru, if he sees her at all. im a fan of this theory i saw where being in control of your sword means being control of its spirit, and being in control is shown by your eyes looking like imu's. that perhaps hakuba is cavendish's sword spirit manifesting in a way cavendish cant control; that zoro's scarred eye is hiding proof of a spirit that had to be sealed away lest it overpower him; and that mihawk's eyes have those same rings because he's fully in control of yoru's sword spirit. i could see smth like that working in conjunction with kuina's spirit in wado diring the timeskip, that zoro trains with her (cries) to unlock wado ichimonji's full power, and that it's possible because of his ability to see sword spirits!!!

also obsessed with the idea that mihawk pivots and kidnaps zoro instead, especially because he really doesnt have to. 😂 mihawk meeting a boy that can see sword spirits and deciding "i will train him whether he wants me to or not" and then kidnapping him to give his nearly-bisected ass terrible first aid on his coffin boat... hilarious. 😂😂 shanks seeing the absolutely haggard and scowling teenager limping as he follows mihawk onto that island and being exasperated like,

shanks: you have to give him back, mihawk.

mihawk: no, he can see sword spirits. i need to have a hand in cultivating his power.

shanks: mihawk, you can't just--wait, you can what? omg does gryphon actually look like a gryphon?!?!?! wait, no, no, i'm trying to be the voice of reason here.

red-haired pirates in the background: *burst out laughing at shanks being the voice of reason*

and also probably mihawk will throw in some bratty sort of shot at shanks getting to bet on luffy and why cant he bet on zoro, and shanks will have to be like, "i didn't kidnap luffy, mihawk, just put him back!" hahaha.

Lbh, Oda doesn't kill off characters unless they are WBP (one day, he will have to answer for his crimes 😔). No, but seriously, he's not going to kill Sabo when Luffy's nowhere nearby for it to be impactful; now, maiming him... 🤔 The real question is whether we will see Sabo getting away or whether Oda will offscreen it and let us wait for answers again like he did with the Levely (I'm still very much confused about what happened there, lol. Timeline wise, it was before Wano started?)

currently reading: this is embarrassing in a way but were healing atm , im close to being finished with forest of secrets by erin hunter of the warrior cat series XD im reading the series slowly again with my gf

besides that however i usually read manga and not so many books. i got caught up on dungeon meshi the other day which im THRILLED is getting an anime!! iirc the mangaka had mentioned that she wouldnt approve an anime unless she knew itd be good so 👀.. i have very high hopes.

besides that ive been continuing my read through and analysis of one piece! im near the end of the skypeia arc now, its of course wonderful. i enjoyed the anime arc a lot as well but the end felt a little clumsy, im interested to see if the manga is any better. no harm if its not, cant all be the goat ALL the time. currently, sanji just got blasted by enel and i was talking abt in my server that he’s incredibly self sacrificing and this is like the third time this arc he takes such a horrible blow its a miracle he wakes up. but honestly his little excursion onto the ark maxim and then subsequently getting electrocuted reads to me like some sort of sui attempt… but thats me. lololol. i love analyzing manga.

last song: this is sooo hard honestly cuz i listen to music constantly.. but the song i woke up with in my head is Bitter Boogie by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. (while rn playing is Am I In Heaven? by the same band!) heres some of my recent spotify likes of kglw however.. i have more but HAHA

last series: this may come as a shock… but the answer to this is also One Piece. lmfao. im nearing the end of the dressrosa arc and people were not lying. flashbacks abound. a lot of good character moments felt ruined by it. OH WELL. but right now luffy just shifted into fourth gear and its really exciting, but nothing is that easy to im waiting for things to go wrong.. despite being a mess of an arc im having a great time with it!

last movie: im so bad about watching movies and my friend mo has described it being a ‘herculean task’ for me to watch a movie which is true so i dont have a clear answer. i recently saw thor love and thunder with family. it sure was a marvel movie so its very whatever. last GOOD movie i watched and remember watching is The Last Unicorn and i cried like the whole time.. LOL.

currently working on: oh lord well i always default to saying im working on my oc universe story thing Masters of None! but the honest answer is really nothing too much atm i havent drawn in over a month or so. i just havent felt like it. ive got the itch to do so but no energy LMAO but i try not to force it. however im playing a new game that came out yesterday if that counts for anything? cult of the lamb, its phenomenal so far im really enjoying it.

Hey love... its done. After all these years... its over at last. Our team successfully defeated Doflamingo. I’m writing this letter while you are going to Zou. Why am i writing this letter without telling you directly when we meet or call you on den-den mushi you ask? Well we still... have a long journey with this idiot pirate group who just won’t even give a moment alone for you and me. They won’t let me live my life in peace. This is utter chaos here.

I cant help but to... miss you. I know you deserve the credit for this because... do you remember the time you cheered me on while I almost gave up on my dream because I was still weak. You may think it was just a small incident but... for me that encouragement meant so much... It made me move forward all this time. Never ever I could’ve been this version of myself without you.

Lets go to Wano together. I definitely need your hand in defeating Kaido. I need your hand in this journey to become Pirate King. I... need you in my life. You are my nakama, my lover, my family. So, from the previous post I’ll express my excitement about chapter 996! I must state that I haven’t caught up with the manga (and idk still don’t want to) but this chapter is really exceptional.......... so okay, this post consist of chapter 996′s panels which make me so genuinely happy, of course through my personal preference and view, very subjective, I know. lol.

To be very honest, I don’t know the detail of conflict happening in Onigashima, but on my knowledge (just based on tumblr dashboard and twitter timeline lol) the condition is heating up and somehow it looked like a battlefield.

Hi Anon! Nice to hear from you again and thank you for the ask!! Hope you like it!!

Doflamingos kind and caring S/O becomes a criminal to free him

. Doflamingo and the other executives of the family had all been taken, so you had to do with what you had.

. You rounded up a few of the more reliable fighters from the lower ranks and begin to plan.

. You use what is left of Doflamingos influence and his extensive network to gather all the information you can on Imple Down

. You plot everything out, down to the last detail. You hire the others you need for your team, you pay your bribes and you set sail.

. It takes a lot of work to get yourself into the prison, but you manage it without too many I juries to your team.

. Your main goal is Doflamingo. Not only is he the one you actually want to save but you know once you have him the hard part is over.

. He will take it from there.

. You lose a few of your people on the way to his cell, which you accounted for. You feel awful but you know it cant be helped.

. You save the most talented fighters for the guards outside doflamingos cell. You dont wait while they battle it out, you get the key, slip round them and in to the cell.

. There is only one occupant in the cell, dressed in the standard inmate outfit, chained and shackled.

. "D...Doflamingo?" You question, quietly.

. Slowly his head lifts up, his eyes searching the dim light for your form. When he sees you, he just stares.

. "Doffy.. I.. I came to get you out." You say, a warm feeling spreads through you at the sight of him.

. Despite the chains he looks to be in reasonable healthy. You were worried they would mistreat him.

. Another few seconds pass and then his signature grin starts to spread over his face.

. Doflamingo begins to laugh and he doesnt stop for a solid minute. The sound of it fills the room, bounces against the inside of your head.

. "You? You came here? For me?" He asks, still grinning. "You?"

. You move towards his cell doors and unlock them, stepping in to the cell with him.

. You kneel down beside him and start working you way through the many locks and bolts keeping him in.

. "I knew it! I knew you were keeping something from me," he says, chuckling to himself. "To think you had this hiding inside you."

"I didn't keep anything from you," you tell him calmly as you unchain his left arm. "The only reason I've done this is because I want you back. I.. I was worried about you."

. Doflamingos hand shoots out and grabs hold of your wrist and drags you towards him.

. "Have you missed me, love?" He purrs, close enough now that you can feel the warmth of his breath on your cheek.

. In response you press your lips to his and he crushes you against him.

. When you pull away the two of you are panting, but Doflamingo just grins again and offers up the cuff on his other hand.

. "Well then, let's go."

Give me headcanons you have for Luffy! Any headcanons will do

Oh geez be ready for some low key edgy ig. Some of these ive wanted to write for a whILe. Also I'm on my phone and I cant see the whole ask so I'm juat gonna do headcanons and add stuff if I need to after posting.

-Oda says hes drawn luffys mom before, and hes never rlly met his parents before obviously. Its a bit of a long shot but I kinda thing hes the son of a world noble, and dragon was a slave for a period of time; luffy was neglected as a child (cuz tenryyubito fucking SUCK) until Garp was like 'oh wtf my son was a slave and was forced to have a child?? I must save ...child' (assuming dragon had escaped or something @ that point). And so Garp tells nobles to fuck off while taking his grandson (the nobles don't care cuz after they had him, they didn't like him cuz he was a mistake). And Garps like 'wait how do u raise children'... So he tried to leave Luffy w some ppl hes met before. Might i add this is why hes so protective of the ppl he knows and how he said that one thing after ace and sabo saved him from blujam and theyre like why tf didn't u say anything and he was like 'cuz being alone is more painful than being hurt'

-kinda pt.2 to the last one. Dragon low key just follows his son around. Like, come on, what were the chances they'd see eachother in Loguetown? 100% planned. Otherwise why were they even in east blue in the first place? Gotta say tho, they don't know exactly where Luffy is just the general area. I mean Robin just happened to run into them over the timeskip. Sabo happened to be there in Dressrosa. I would say Iva's whole thing in impel down was an example but idk he just went there either cuz he was caught or cuz he was freeing other ppl. Its different.

-ive mentioned this before but. Jinbe's main purpose in the crew is anger management for Luffy. My evidence? Post-war, and WCI. He literally had to try and get his composure to be able to fight Katakuri and it took ...time. Jinbe gets him to think rationally in desprate situations; not only is Jinbe a helmsman, he covers for one of Luffy's weaknesses.

- he can see better in just right eye than his left

-luffy is afraid of akainu but definitely won't admit it (remember that one scene in fishman island). Phantom pains.

-what is a good nights sleep

-stay strong for his crew. If something bad happens and he gets upset in front of his crew, he'll just fuckin rocket off somewhere else cuz 'dont look I'm not supposed to be weak'.

-sometimes he just, stares at the ocean or the sky, thinking about nothing.

-the whole thing with the observation haji? Rayleigh said he can sense ppls emotions. Definitely a natural thing, hes had that since he was a teeny boye. He knows what to say and how to say it. Maybe he doesn't know why someone feels some way but he usually knows how to fix it (unless its like a physical condition, then its just... Cram meat down their throat). Example being 'WHAT DO YOU REALLY WANT, SANJI?!' (i can't remember the exact line sry)

-the opposite of ambidextrous. Dude luffy has zero hand-eye coordination when it comes to slow, precise movements. He can do other stuff like eating and fighting with both hands tho.

-constantly starving, obviously. Literally all he eats turns into energy, which he uses up three times as fast as most humans cuz of his devil fruit. But he can digest just as quickly so its ok; he just cant stay caught up with it so he's always hungry anyways.

-if he had sea stone cuffs on all the time hed be as muscley as zoro. and then witht hem off, hed accidentally just shatter things when picking them up. Like barely any self control until he got used to it. (*glass falling on the floor* "sorry Sanji" *more glass breaking* "fuck sorry haha-" "sTOP SMILING UR DOING IT ON PURPOSE ARENT YOU") (hes not he just thinks its funny that every time he grabs the cup to drink it shatters half way to his face)

-legitimately convinced he doesn't have a mom, absolutely zero sex ed plus hes definitely ace so he doesnt care. Doesnt rlly understand sanji's whole lovey dovey thing and the nosebleeds but goes with it anyways. 'After all, usopp does it too so shouldnt I?'

-Let Luffy say fuck

-'whats a rival? All I have are cool friends' (smoker in the background screaming)

So while I am in awe of what happened with Killer I gotta say, I loved this chapter. Because it showed so much. This chapter clearly focused on two people, ironically enough it was mostly about Zoro and Killer, the two non captains and non devil fruit users of the Worst Generation.

So this isn’t going to be in order, and is actually going to be a little over the place but please bear with me. So we have Queen’s ‘game’. This is intense as shit because Queen intends to put Luffy in a situation where he would have to watch two people he considers rivals die or die himself but already flat out admits that none of them will leave alive. Like no matter what a combatant picks, it is pure torture. They would have to watch someone they know die and live with the guilt for the rest of their short life OR die knowing that they couldn’t even save those people and knowing that all they did was just die first so they wouldn’t have to watch. Like that is seriously f*cked up! Thank god it’s Luffy that is in that ring, but just imagine the people before him put through that!

Then we have Kid and Killer. So Killer is the guy who fought and wounded Zoro. I guess that explains a lot, especially now that we know that Killer was fed a SMILE devil fruit (ignoring the fact that Zoro is now the ONLY member of the Worst Generation who has not eaten a devil fruit). Now Kid was a character that I suspected had a soft side to him. Obviously not to civilians, and not to the marines, but he did say back in Sabody that the innocent people they killed were the people who laughed at them and their dreams. Now I’m not saying that excuses it, because it sure as hell doesn’t, but it does tell us that Kid is so passionate about those he cares about, that he will kill someone for laughing at those he cares for. Then we learn Killer is a person who hated his laugh and hated his face, so he stopped laughing and he hid his face. After he was fed the SMILE fruit though, the mask came off and he was always smiling. Whatever they did to Killer was horrible and Kidd is pissed! He is ready to murder them all, and his anger was so much that he was willing to charge in there, despite having cuffs that weakened him, to get some kind of payback for his loyal partner.

Then we have Zoro in the Capital. Before I focus on him I do want to draw attention to the panel of Hiyori after her former boss stopped Zoro’s attack. That will probably come back in the future, but we’ll ignore it now. Anyway, Zoro is furious. He genuinely liked his new friend and is furious at his death. He’s furious that everyone is laughing at it, and he’s furious that another friend is put in danger. So he does what he always does and charges in, right along side Sanji. Now this is the first time the two have seen each other since the market place in Dressrosa, a long ass time ago! Obviously they didn’t address what happened because they are a little busy, something Zoro even says. That will probably come later too, but I want to talk about what did happen.

Zoro still trusts Sanji. He trusted Sanji enough to give him the kid, Toko, that he was trying to protect in order to go on the offensive. And Sanji still cares for Zoro, at least a little bit. Sanji is trying to keep the plan in tact and get everyone out of there in one piece. Meanwhile the rest of the crew are surprised to see Zoro, but also glad. After all when a fight breaks out, Zoro and Sanji are the first two behind Luffy that you want to have around. They are also ready to all jump into the fight with them. And Zoro, you see how much he trusts the crew. He handed Sanji Toko and told one of the crew members to cover his back then he prepared to attack and never once looked back, trusting them to do as he asked before they even responded (of course Franky responded almost immediately in voice and action). And Luffy, I gotta say I love him. He’s watching the whole thing on the t.v., cheering Zoro on!

And to top it all off, while everything is coming to a head, with Zoro, Sanji, Robin, Nami, Franky, Usopp, and Brook causing a ruckus with the samurai in challenging the shogun himself in the center of the capital and getting attacked by his ‘lap dog’ and men, and while Luffy is facing Queen’s rage and trying to find a way to save a drowning Killer and Kidd, what else could happen besides Big Mom with Chopper and Carrot come literally crashing in! I mean, I never was happier to see her in my life.

I can’t wait for next week! I can’t wait to see where this goes! I really wanted to use that joke about how it’s not over until the fat lady sings since she came crashing into the party, but the end of Whole Cake Island already took that one from me, so for now I guess I’ll just say that I cant wait to watch Big Mom wreck Queen’s shit!

oh that was so heart wrenching omg.. i cry , but i like how deep OP can actually get this is so neat. All the arcs have been so good so far but i definitely love Alabasta and Vivi! Vivi and Nami gfs so true!! also wow Luffy has a brother ? thats so neat !! i sure hope i dont get attached to him, i already like Zoro haha!!

Who’s your D&D character?

Lol, which one? I’ve had like…oh gosh, I’ve lost count at this point. In the campaign I have recently started with my friends that is from an actual DnD module - Tomb of Annihilation, no less - I play a halfling necromancer that is loosely somewhat kinda only a little based off Trafalgar Law from One Piece (I had recently gotten through the Punk Hazard/Dressrosa arcs and I’ve claimed him as my One True Anime Husbando™, and the beautiful works by @varrix only fanned the flames of my love) But, as with all my characters, they typically start as an idea of one thing and then get molded by the plot, my whims at the time and relation to other characters to become their own thing. So my “Law” has now become much more “Iuris - or just Riss - Borodino” than his muse. This is partially also due to the fact that Riss has what Law did not - a 4′6″ tall War Corgi and familiar, whose name is Moom. I had to compromise on him since “War Corgi” does not fit into either the A) mount or B) Familiar category in DnD when it comes to stats, so he basically has the “Mastiff” stats with a 25gp summoning component fee - but other than that he is basically both a mount and familiar. And stupid cute and very helpful when it comes to doing charisma throws - everyone wants to be nice to the guy with the dog whose butt is literally renowned as “momos”. As far as backstory goes let it be known that I wrote it before the Dressrosa backstory with Law and Corazon lol but it was basically that Riss’ kingdom was overtaken by a conqueror who had no idea how to take care of the lands he acquired through war, so many injured people were sick and dying and forgotten about once the fighting stopped. Riss was one of them, and he found himself having an interest in both books and life magic - necromancy - after being surrounded in the circumstances he was in. He wanted to learn how to bring his people he saw dead in the streets back. He would flee into libraries and hide among the shelves when soldiers would walk by, passing the time reading old tomes. He’d also steal books to help light what were basically trash can fires to keep him and his ragtag family warm, but he’d try to salvage any magical book to read from - at least until he was finished reading it.He grew up without a tutor so learning was touch and inexperienced (hence the “you start at level one with barely any powers”) but he considered himself ready when, as a young adult, he was able to forge a bond and summon Moom (to be honest tho, he was not expecting a giant dog, let alone a corgi - to be his spiritual connection). He met @aggressively-fangirling‘s character Sal - a drow going through a sort of soul-searching phase out of the Underdark - sometime along the way to Chult that we still gotta hammer out, but since they both pretty much have an apathetic nihilistic attitude towards things they’ve gotten along quite well and we’ve figured out our individual spells and playstyles work well with one another. Riss was interested in Chult’s “death curse” that was bringing those resurrected through necromatic means back to death, so he and Sal hopped on a ship after a summons and here they are now. We’re about 3 full sessions in and have yet to leave Port Nyanzaru cause theres just so many fun things to do but I expect we’ll finally venture out into the jungle soon after we get a shoot ton of gold for going after…and I find this hilariously ironic….pirates. Stats-wise I rolled pretty well, above average for most, so Riss stands at STR-14 DEX-15 CON-14 INT-15 WIS-15 CHA-15, and he has a really neat trinket from Xanathar’s Guide that’s basically a book-holder staff that can levitate things that he keeps his spellbook on that also (negotiated) acts as a basic quarterstaff so he can both hit you with magic or deck you across the side of the face with very physical knowledge. So..that’s Riss in a nutshell. I’m stupid excited with how this campaign has been going and we’re thinking of playing tonight and AHHH Cant wait.
