I'm pretty sure Emmet & Mina just woke up one day & decided to get married, throwing on some nicer-than-usual clothes, calling Elesa to be their witness, going & doing some quick ring shopping... before getting eloped all in the same day.

One day a few months after his world came crashing in, Emmet woke up in a cold sweat realizing just how unpredictable life can truly be. He sat there thinking for quite some time as the harsh pitch of night gave way to the warm, tender hues of the morning sun.

The more he thought about losing Ingo, losing his passion, losing his job and losing his way... the more he was determined never to let anything more slip from his grip.

As the pink rosy light stretched through the blinds and the din of regular city noise began to set in for the day, Emmet gently nudged Mina awake mid-snore, and topped it off with a kiss to her cheek. She yawned and began to stretch beside him, looking more like a well-loved doll with her disastrous bedhead and mussed-up clothing than anything else. Emmet chuckled to himself as she peered his way and passed him a quizzical look.

"Hey, g'mornin', Em... What's up? You ok?"

He remained there pressed against her side, his bright eyes sharper than ever in contrast to the darkness still enveloping the room. She had only ever seen him look this intensely focused when he was battling and planning some master strategy, so she couldn't help but be slightly concerned even in her groggy state.

Still, Emmet was lost in thought as he knew this would be a moment in time he could never redo or replace. The moment he would utter these words, there would be no going back and no turning around.

But Emmet was so, SO tired of going backwards, of being drawn ever further downwards, or of being reminded of what used to be and who everyone else - besides the redhead at his side - wanted him to go back to being.

When he was just a part of a matching set with his long lost brother.

It was time.

It was the time to set a new track and the time to decide his very own destination. And... to offer his hand to see if someone would join him on his journey, wherever it might take them together.

So, he swiftly took her freckled hands in his and he eagerly leaned over her, excitement burning in his eyes and a boyish grin pulling over his lips as he simply blurted out:

"Let's get married today!♡"
