a thought: the psychic link that Danny was initially supposed to share with Sam, that got scrapped before the show started, makes a whole lot more sense for him and Dani, where it can also neatly play into the twin telepathy trope

of course they’re not twins, not like that, not really, at least not according to canon, but they basically have the same face and probably very similar body language and it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to say that they’re at the very least exceptionally good at reading each other, and it would give a new level of depth to their relationship and all potential angst thrown at them

I feel like people forget that Danny isn't actually feral. Like, I love feral Danny, but, even at the height of his "feralness", his room is spotless, he's sad when he can't study, and he cleans to relieve anxiety (though yes, only when he's alone). He only started not doing his chores, getting bad grades, and missing classes when he stopped having time for it and he hates it! He wants to be a good boy! AND! He loves being a hero and helping people, and I'm tired of people being like "no, actually he hates being a hero and wouldn't do it if he wasn't forced to". No! You are wrong! Danny Fenton loves helping people and being a hero. (I thought we all agreed that Phantom Planet was Out of Character!) He's not a dirty little gremlin child. He's a responsible, well organized teen, and tries to still be that even when he's at the end of his rope and stressed to hell and back.

Nightwing stared, he turned his head staring at Zatanna in a way that clearly spelled the question: Are you seeing what I am seeing?

Zatanna only gave him a shrug with a smile before focusing back on the meeting, leaving Nightwing to turn back and stare. He wasn't the only hero in the room with that reaction. There were a couple others too that reacted similarly. Only Batman appeared to be able to hold his pokerface.

Right before them was Constantine trying to explain to them all how their goverment basically fucked them over, while a 'ghost' teen was clinging to the man's shoulders glaring and hissing at them all. Worst of all Constantine was acting like the kid wasn't even there. Like there was no a white haired, black and white dressed teen hugging the man around his shoulders while glaring at them with glowing Lazarus green eyes.

"Uhm John? What's with the kid?" Green Lantern finally asked interrupting another one of the magicans rants about how screwed they were to which the Brite only glared at the hero.

"Ignore him."

"But..."

"IGNORE him."

"Maybe we should remove the child from this meeting before we continue?" Superman offered good naturally and Constantine looked pretty much done with them all, Nightwing noted. The blond waved with his hand as if telling them to 'go on try it'.

The heroes exchanged glances. Before Superman moved forward reaching out to remove the teen....

...and promptly got bitten. Nightwings eyes widened as he noticed the teen actually broke kryptonian skin!

The teen then proceeded to hiss at them while clutching onto Constantine protectively. The magican only let out a suffering sigh and muttered something about never touching a core again.

"My comfort human! Get your own!"

DPXDC Watch Out, He Bites

Danny did his best to be the best big brother possible, he helped his little brother learn and train to be the best, even if he knew what it meant. He protected Damian through thick and thin, and as he stared down at the corpse of his grandfather's enforcer in the sand he knew he'd just signed his own death warrant.

Danny had seen it coming for a while, even as the oldest son he'd never been what grandfather had expected of him, too soft and moral. He suspected that was why mother had Damian in the first place, to replace him as heir- and he never held it against his little brother. But stepping in the way of Grandfather's punishment for Damian would not go unnoticed, this would be the last way he would protect his little brother for a very long time.

Daniel turned to Damian, tears coming to his eyes as he wipes the blood and viscera off his hands and out from under his nails. "I can't stay." He saw his little brother's hands ball up as he started to shake. "I'm sorry, if you ever need a place to hide, then come find me."

Years later, Damian struggles to find purpose after the death of his father, and rather than be Robin to Dick's Batman he goes on a cross country road trip to find his big brother who would do anything to protect him.

But when Bruce comes back from being stuck in the time stream, Damian introduces him to his eldest son. They get along fine at first, but then some goon tries to kidnap Damian Wayne for the ransom money, and Danny gets there first.

I think Danny should get to be in more situations where he can’t use his ghost powers. I also think that suppressing this half of him ought to make more ghostly features appear on his human-self. Longer teeth, difficulty recording him on camera, tapetum lucidum and silent footsteps. He doesn't blink enough. He doesn't always breathe. If you sit too long in a room with him, you'll get a ringing in your ear.

Danny’s still a good kid! Kind and helpful and funny, there's just something about him that’s just a little too far to the left.

And he was up, hands above his head and everything. The guy in all black proceeded to pat him down along his pockets while pointing a gun at him otherwise. 

“How do you not have a wallet on you?”

“I’m a college student, I can barely afford tuition.”

That’s a lie, he was on a full ride scholarship, but they didn’t need to know that. 

“Oh you too?”

Did this bitch just say ‘you too’ ? No way.

“‘You too?’ Are you doing this to pay for college???”

Ancients, the school system sucked if he had to resort to crime for this.

“Yeah- you wouldn’t believe how expensive my major is, the textbooks alone cost more than my rent!”

“Holy shit, no kidding. Yeah, why are textbooks so expensive? Why am I paying hundreds of dollars for something that could have been a 2 dollar pdf?”

“Right! I tried asking my professor instead, but he said he’d fail me if I didn’t have the right materials! It’s driving me nuts. Like how am I supposed to pay for all this?”

How Dannt started making conversation with his own robber, he didn’t know, but he was happy to finally complain with someone. He hadn’t exactly made friends since he got here.

“Personally I buy used books, and the more trashed they are, the cheaper. Then, you can just use the pdf version but still have the textbook in class. It’s honestly so much easier. Or you can see if you can borrow it from the library and just bring it in for the classes he checks it, then return it after to avoid the fees. That option is a bit more troublesome though.”

“Oh shit, no way! That’s awesome, I never thought of that, thanks man! Man, I wish I talked to you sooner.” 

“Yeah, it’s all good, maybe just avoid the crime after this? There’s tons of online jobs you can do during class and stuff. I don’t know, there’s always another option than crime. You sound like a good guy, just desperate.”

The robber turned friend (?) lowered his gun and sighed before returning the items in the bag to everyone. He then apologized to the cashier and then to everyone else before giving Danny a hug (how long had it been since he’d gotten one of those?) and leaving. Danny was so proud of him he almost cried (again).

Batman: This is Phantom. He’s a meta, wanted for crimes against the United States government. His crimes include destruction of property, robbery, and attempting to rip a hole in between realms. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Superman: He’s… just a boy.

Batman: And an asteroid is just a rock. In comparison to a planet or a sun, it is very small. But the destruction it can do is unfathomable. We can’t underestimate him.

Wonder Woman: What can he do?

Green Lantern: *flipping through files* His power set is… disturbing. I’m not sure how reliable these claims are but it appears he has ice and energy abilities.

Batman: I plan on looking into his power set before we attempt to apprehend him. We head out to Amity Park Illinois in three hours.

assorted remember the past headcanons in no particular order Part II

halfas are universal blood and organ donors between themselves by default, this is specific to their species as they can still receive these things by human conventions, but as their numbers are always few ghost nature chose the easiest way of ensuring survival since human matter would have be tainted with ectoplasm before it fully integrates into their body and halfa tissue/blood comes with that by default

Danny and Sam dated for like a week when they were 14/15 and promptly decided that it’s not for them, they prefer being best friends, so they were most chill about it, the only one whose anxiety went through the roof over this breakup was Tucker's, who didn’t want to pick sides, he didn’t have to

Jack and Maddie’s parenting skills operate by large on the premise of “the opposite of good is well-intentioned” and they are more than often well-intentioned, they can be good parents, but they also caused both their children a lot of hurt, what evens the scales is that when push comes to shove and they’re together they can be very good parents, because they have the best possible chances of balancing out each other’s shortcomings

when Danny first visited Vlad in the hospital he modelled his physical appearance after a young Dan/his memories of what the other Vlad described to him, but he adjusted his clothes to look a little more Plasmius’ in an attempt to bridge the need of not being immediately recognisable to Vlad decades in the future and wanting Vlad to see something of himself in Danny’s ghost half, however the fluctuation in his appearance after that was largely involuntary, the lack of sleep and imbalance of his powers caused some of it, but there’s also a part of that still wants to bridge that particular gap between him and Vlad, it’s also a good visual indicator of whose side he’s on, the point is, Phantom’s appearance now varies a little based on circumstances

Vlad finds it very endearing when Danny’s ghost form tries to be friend-shaped

Danny wears his trademark jumpsuit that he stepped into the portal with, but he accessorises with gear and clothing as needed and available

Vlad has no living next of kin that he’s aware of or close to, but neither Maddie nor Jack knew that his parents were dead by the time of the accident

Vlad can technically change his appearance too, it’s not a skill he’d have trouble learning, he’s just not inclined to do it, there’s too large a chasm between himself and his ghost powers for him to even want to make them more similar, he’s also not a big fan of jumpsuits

Vlad’s fangs are almost always out, with the only exception being if he expects to be recorded or photographed in public

Vlad’s full name is Vladimir Sergeevich Masters, which is a dumb cross-fandom joke and kudos to you if you get it, Vlad doesn’t like his “middle name” though

some ideas i have for the Teen Villain Alliance

Dr. Danny "I stole my PhD from Harvard at gunpoint" Fenton is Damian's best friend despite being at least six years older than him, while Crown Prince Phantom Dark is more of a father figure to Damian despite them being the same flipping person.

Sam is still Damian's favorite though, she's the one who he approached to join.

someone suggested that each "squad" of teens has a different pest as their squad name. So the inner circle (Danny, Jazz, Sam, Tuck, Dani, maybe Klarion since he was there first) are Wolves, with each having a squad under them. Phantom doesn't have a squad, but Fenton's mad science squad are called rats, Jazz has mice, Sam reclaimed bats from the batfam, tuck has his flies, etc

Phantom and Pharaoh tuck pretending that they have no idea what Tennessee is because Wally mistakes them for the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Damian is convinced that the inner circle are Prince Phantom's harem and convinces Dick of that too when he joins.

I really want to add Dick to the Everlasting Trio guys, I really do, but this is about the Teen Villain Alliance, not young adult villain alliance, so the oldest I feel like I can make the trio are 20, with Dick being 24, so if anyone has any problems with that... i guess you can leave, I've already decided on this plan of action.

The first time Red Hood encounters the TVA, they threaten him into buying them alcohol, he buys the nastiest shit he can think of to mess with the brats. Klarion throws up, Sam drinks straight faced

Red Huntress originally liked being an official justice league recognized super hero, but the stress of work and being constantly relied on to save people wears her down. She confronts Phantom for setting these ghosts on her, but he hasn’t done anything, this is the regular amount of ghosts. In fact, he asked that most of his rogues limit their visits to once every two weeks, so its actually less. Valerie has a mental breakdown and joins the TVA

Danny was born as a Halfa

So! Jack and Maddie are a little More insane in this.

When studying Ghosts, they become convinced that the only way to defeat the Ghostly Threat is to make a Ghost of their own. One who will fight on their Side. And they do believe that a "Good Ghost" is Possible, but only if fused with a Human to balance out the "Inherent Evil".

So, when Maddie gets pregnant they take the opportunity to try and make one of these theoretical "Halfas" by testing on the Baby in the Womb.

Jazz if Born, and she is not a Halfa. She is merely an extremely Liminal Toddler, so Jack and Maddie consider the experiment a Failure. They raise Jazz as per usual, and then 2 years later Jack and Maddie try again.

They have Danny, and this time he is a True Halfa! They did it! Now all they have to do is turn the Baby into the perfect Weapon against Ghosts!

Danny is raised less like a Baby and more like a Weapon. His Parents still treat him well, and give him some amount of love, but there is never any doubt in his mind that his only purpose in Life is to be the perfect weapon against Ghosts.

The only person who really treats him like something more than a Weapon is Jazz, who likes to sneak into his Room and play with him when they parents are out of the House.

(Later addition: They also have Ellie as a Kid a few years later, but because they messed up the process she is not as Stable as Danny is. She is 4 years younger than he is)

Then, they day he had been preparing for his whole life comes. When he is 10, a Ghost manages to sneak through a Natural Portal into Amity Park, and the Fentons send him to go deal with it as his First Test Run.

But when he gets there, he doesn't find an Evil Ghost bent on killing everyone in town. He finds a Teenage Girl, with blue flaming Hair, crying to herself.

(Idk how long ago Ember died, so lets just assume she died around 6 years before Canon)

He doesn't attack immediately, and when the girl sees him she invites him to sit with her. Against his better judgement, he agrees and sits with her.

She talks to him for a bit, and eventually explained why she was crying. Apparently she only died a few weeks ago and had finally found her way back to the Living World, back home. But when she got there she found that nobody really cared about her Death.

She had died in a House Fire, and because she had spent her entire night waiting for her Boyfriend to show up for a Date, she was too tired to wake up in time to escape.

Her Parents had obviously mourned, but her supposed friends and her boyfriend had hardly cared. In fact, it turned out that her Boyfriend had stood her up because he was cheating on her. So she had run off into the Park and sat down to Cry about it, where Danny had found her.

And Danny is confused.

His entire life, he has heard that Ghosts are Non-Sentient Killing Machines. That they don't feel any emotion aside from Malice. That they aren't People.

But this Girl is as Human as anybody else he has ever known. Perhaps even More Human.

He decides to ignore The Fentons Orders, and lets her go back through the Portal she had come through.

When he gets Home, the Fentons are less than pleased. They are Livid in fact.

Their Perfect Weapon was a Failure after all! It's too much like a Ghost to ever side with the Humans! It's just another Spook!

And they know what to do with Spooks.

They lock him up in the Lab, and decide to cut him open Later to figure out what went wrong.

They'll be successful next time.

Thankfully, their jeers to Danny are heard by Jazz in the other Room, and she doesn't like this one bit. So that night, she takes Danny and Ellie with her and Runs away. They need to get out of Amity Park, out Illinois even. They run and run, sneaking onto Buses, hitchhiking, even jumping on Trains.

Eventually they end up in a place called Gotham City.

Ages at the end.

Danny should definitely be wearing his normal shirt and paints combo during The Host role, but change outfits depending on what “role” he’s playing! But the little pin identifying the role stays throughout all outfits mostly because I think it would be funny! Also the no swearing bit is because little ghosts (box lunch) likes to watch this show, along with many Amity Parker’s in Danny’s home universe (if we’re going with good reveal Danny)
