When the Bolton's took over the north and Ramsay reclaimed it's throne as his, the tensions between your house and the stark survivors grew each passing day.

Everything inside winterfell was a mess, terror reign between it's walls, her brother ruled there like a tyrant and nowadays it was a common occurrence to found at least one dead man, woman or children.

In a way, the imminent attack of the starks got Ramsay occupied and he didn't have the time to visit as frequent as before, a relief for you.

Since Claude was born, rumors started to arise about the father of the child.

Claude's similarities in appearance with Ramsay increase each passing day as he grew up, but the habitants of the castle were to afraid with the possible fury of the childs father if a word of it reaches his ears.

Since the announce of your pregnancy, you were relegated to your chambers in which the majority it you passed it trap in there, sewing and reading being your only activities to pass the time.

When you had Claude, some of your liberties where given back, but with the exception of not going outside by your own, Ramsay was breathing behind your neck these days.

You thought that now that you gave what Ramsay wanted, a male heir, he would stop tormenting you.

But it appears to be that the sight of you pregnant increased his libido, and one night he told you that he wouldn't stop until you gave him more children.

Ramsay took many prisoners, being one of them Theon greyjoy or what Ramsay likes to call him, reek.

When Jon snow attacked the castle, everything became pure caos.

"YOU BI-" someone stumble Ramsay to the floor making he unable to finish the insult. The men's of Jon snow were pressing him to the ground while he start to force with the men and throwing empty threats to the air.

The stark bastard and his sister- if I remember correctly she was the first daughter, sansa- were waiting for us in the courtyard, for mi horror Claude was with them, in the arms of one of the maids.

I felt my knees going weaker and my heart thumping harder, scared of what they might do to my son. They first question Ramsay, he didn't change his agressive demeanour against them, even when the life of his son was at game.

Jon proceed to look at me and ask me to decide my fate, because Ramsay had his decided, the atrocities he did were unforgivable.

If I pledge loyalty to them, they would give back to me the lands of the Bolton and it's right, if I don't.... My body will lay with my brother in the morrow.

That day Ramsay was sentence to death, kill by his own dogs, the ones that he brag about their loyalty to him.

In the morning you started your way to your family castle, along with your son and the men left behind from that horrendous battle.

The worse thing about Claude’s Sreng operation is the amount of Sreng people it’s going to get killed or no reason. Claude doesn’t actually care to help them out here, he’s using them as another set of bodies that he doesn’t care about so he can protect his friends and that’s all well and good but how do people not see how absolutely fucking mental it is to casually reignite a war you aren’t even invested in knowing damn well the side you’ve just spurred on is going to lose and is only there to be a distraction, not so you can take out their enemy, but so you can get one person and then leave. Arguably Claude killed more Sreng people doing that than he would have if he just attacked them because we’ve seen that if the odds aren’t in their favor, Sreng will retreat and they were even making progress.

I will say, it was smart of Claude not to attack because if he had attacked them while posing as Faerghus, they most likely would have surrendered because if Faerghus has warships then Sreng can’t fight them but if it’s just someone saying Faerghus is weakened? There’s only a chance for success there.

That's why I mentionned they were a distraction and/or fodder!

Dimitri notes how the Sreng forces are small, and usually, they shouldn't pose any problems, but this time, since Faerghus has to stretch its forces thin to fight the Alliance, Adrestia and Sreng, they're in a difficult situation.

Imo it's still a bad spot on Claude's track of "it's the church that is the cause of xenophobia" because he reignites and triggers this present battle between Sreng and Faerghus - but actually makes an enemy of both! What do you think Sreng's reply will be when they will realise Almyra/Leicester used them as fodder to waltz in Faerghus for their own gain, not giving a fuck about them being "allies"?

And even if the devs used something probably illegal to sniff before writing the Zahras chapters, can anyone seriously think Faerghus (especially Dimitri himself!!) wouldn't despise the Alliance/Federation at the end of GW? They became the Empire's lapdog and invaded to kill a refugee, while trampling and "rampaging" in cities for the very speficic reason to kill Helen of Troyes, re-igniting another conflict and banking on more deaths as "a distraction" to make a beeline to the capital, effectively killing people for no plausible reason (everyone knows the 'kill rhea so supreme leader will lose her goal to pursue the war' is completely bonkers, since her main goal has always been to MAGA!) to rekt Rhea.

It's like FE7, if someone attacked Pherae and killed Eleanora as an unwanted consequence of barging in the land, and trying to kill the Nini-siblings because surely Nergal will stop trying to start a continental war if the dragons he is looking for are dead.

(hint : it doesn't work, and the Nini sibs died for nothing because Nergal, by virtue of knowing where Arcadia is and ultimately growing stronger than Athos, could have "borrowed" dragons there, like say, Fa, to open the dragon gate for him?)

On the one hand, Claude's Sreng invitation is pragmatic, in a short term way - but on the other hand, it will create more issues for him afterwards, if we weren't in Nopes's magical world where nothing has consequences.

In a famous book series, a family is lauded for being "pragmatic" and killing a lot of enemies using under-handed tactics... but then we see in the following books how this family and their allies actually lose everything, partly because of that "pragmatic" move (Frey pies! + North bannermen uncharastically ally to rekt the Boltons! + Lannisters cannibalising themselves - Jaime cannot be the True knight Brienne is because of Tywin's pragmatic "move"', Cersei is Cersei, and Tyrion might realise too late that pissing on his family's name and legacy is less important than actual threats to the world, Zombie!Cat slaughtering people the Lannisters are supposed to protect indiscriminately and more popular support siding with her than with the crown...)

I won't call it karmic retribution, but there is a reason why in FE4, both Arvis and Travant are fucked when the 2nd gen pops up, even their own children are - Arvis's son (Saias who) dies and his line is erased from the throne (Julia will never sit), and Aerone is, uh, missing when Quan's line unites the peninsula (but Leif isn't like his dad so won't consider Thracians as savages).

The only route where he reaps what he sowed is Supreme Bullshit, where trying to turn against Supreme Leader, if all stars are aligned, costs him his life.

Now, I'm wondering, if Almyra's king is very sad (tm) when his favorite son goes missing, to the point where he signs things he doesn't understand and offers his navy on a whim, how would he react if Claude is killed in Nopes?

Shahid took a majority (?) of Almyran forces to mount his invasion of the locket, so without the military, and without a king (maybe he retires, or becomes even more useless than he is in Nopes? or is killed in a powergrab? and succession wars ensue?) what happens to Almyra? Does it fall to anarchy, or something similar to the Kingdom after Lambert's death, without a heir like Dimitri?

POLLY WITH A PAST

1917

Polly With a Past is a three act play by George Middleton and Guy Bolton. It was originally produced by David Belasco and directed by Louis Massen. The play starred Ina Claire. 

The play takes place in an apartment in New York City in late July and a summer home in North Hampton, Long Island in early August.  It depicts the efforts of two young men to help a shy friend, Rex, win the attention of the aloof woman he loves; they arrange for their young housekeeper, Polly, to pose as a glamorous French rival for Rex's affections, but this leads to romantic complications.

Polly with a Past premiered at Nixon’s Apollo Theatre on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City NJ on June 11, 1917. 

Before moving on to Broadway, the play was seen at two more Jersey Shore theatres: The Savoy in Asbury Park, and the Broadway in Long Branch. 

The play opened on Broadway on September 6, 1917 at the Belasco Theatre. 

The Broadway cast was headed by Ina Claire as Polly, Herbert Yost as Rex (both pictured above), with Winifred Fraser, H. Reeves-Smith, Thomas Reynolds, and Cyril Scott. It ran for nearly a year. 

The piece was presented in London in 1921 starring Edna Best and Donald Calthrop, with a supporting cast including Noël Coward, Edith Evans, Henry Kendall, Claude Rains and C. Aubrey Smith, running for three months. 

It was adapted for film in 1920 in which Ina Claire reprised her role as Polly Shannon. Clifton Webb was also in the cast. The film is now considered lost. 

The film played in Atlantic City at the Bijou Theatre, Boardwalk and South Carolina.  Opening in 1903, this was the first movie house in Atlantic City. By 1920 it had been renamed the Cort Theatre. It was was demolished in 1924.

A musical version simply titled Polly played on Broadway in 1929. Archie Leach, who later became known as Cary Grant, was in an out-of-town tryout of the musical. Also in the cast were Fred Allen (in a newly-created part) and June Tripp in the title role. Leach was replaced as Rex by John Hundley for the Broadway run, which opened at the Lyric Theatre on January 8, 1929, and closed after just 15 performances.

i wanted to add onto the last ask: i always always always say this so im sorry if this is repetitive but i really need your stories as netfix shows. like mini series or all your one shots as a one-story-per-episode kind of thing.

the plot is always amazing but the stories also always have a special vibe and i can just picture the colours and aesthetics and different scenes in my head.

the witch au would definitely be really lively colours so sansas red hair burns as bright as the fires and stakes and stuff and bolton giving off claude frollo energy and the woods would be a lively green... I NEED IT

Holly Gibney deserved her book ending and it really bothers me that HBO didn’t give it to her.

SPOILERS for The Outsider both book and show......

Okay. I just binge read and then binge watched The Outsider and I have feelings so I’m sharing.

At the end of the book, when they’re confronting the monster/shapeshifter/El Cuco, Holly is the brains of the operation.

She’s the only one who brings the melee weapon (which is a beautiful surprise reveal), and this is vital considering the confrontation takes place in an extremely unstable underground cave where even shouting risks a cave in, let alone shooting a damn gun.

She’s the one who keeps her head about her, makes sure Ralph doesn’t try and fist fight it because it’s poisonous, she distracts the creature by getting it to talk, by riling it up, so she had time to get close and strike the killing blows—without putting anyone else’s lives on the line, I want to add.

HOLLY IS THE ONE TO KILL EL CUCO AND SAVE THE DAY!!!

Not Claude, who wasn’t even there in the book (he stayed home and didn’t shoot guns in a collapse prone cave). Not Ralph, who for some reason got an entire secondary scene with the monster.

Holly. Holly our wonderful, neurodivergent, kickass angel. The one who figured it all out to start with, who fought so hard to get people to believe her....

She was the one to end it. And HBO took that away from her and it pisses me off.

Sorry, end of rant. I love what they did with the character otherwise, the actress was phenomenal.

No, we don't let the rape slip away and disembowel our common parasite "Claude" in front of the rapist, making him shit his pants every night like a fucking pensioner with hemorrhoids. I know it sounds crazy, but an eye for an eye 🤷

Ok this is heavy, i don't think we have to do harm to the poor baby, like is not their fault of being a product of a dreadful act as r*ape (it can't even defend itself, it's only a new born. We don't want to put the blame of the acts of the father on him).

Instead if we want to do something bad to someone, is the perpetrator (Ramsay). I think the y/n can take the opportunity on taking revenge during the battle of the bastards. When the battle is win pledge loyalty to house stark, and to make a statement of now her being the head of house Bolton; kill Ramsay in a public act (A woman in those times had to make a statement of power if you don't want a rebellion or something of the sort, also knowing how conservative are things in the north). Then put her son as future heir and use the excuse of "I'm governing until my son comes to age".

Well, that's what I think👍 (i don't meant it in any way as an attack or something of the sort).

went through the goes-wrong-verse playbills/programmes - that is, ‘the play that goes wrong’ and ‘peter pan goes wrong’ (thank you @cornleypolytechnicgoeswrong​ !) trying to piece together each society member’s career within the society PLUS if possible whatever it was they were doing at the polytechnic (university) course-wise, along with whatever other character snippets they give. this is mostly to inform me when writing but i thought it’d be useful for other mischief/goes wrong fans!

chris bean:

as of TPTGW is the ‘newly elected’ head of the drama society, and is known at the university for his charitable & philanhropic work. he has six acting credits within the polytechnic to his name.

i was going to presume his choice of course at the uni was acting or directing, but his PPGW bio states that his ‘dacting’ (directing and acting) is all self-taught, so who knows. maybe he’s just in the society because of his aforementioned charitable work.

robert grove:

has starred in 40 productions with the society since 2002 (when he began work at cornley polytechnic as a caretaker - i’m taking this to mean he was never actually a student there.) anyway wow explains why they call him a “veteran actor” lol.

he offers acting lessons (reacting, gesturing, emotioning and acting) and can be contacted via twitter @robertgoodactor. i’ve looked this twitter account up and it does exist it’s just not been used since 2017 - that said there are some in-character photos of henry lewis as robert and nancy zamit as annie on there and plenty of tweets.

he runs an extremely dubiously safe cornley youth theatre program and can be contacted at his email [email protected] (membership fees are non-refundable.)

trevor watson:

in TPTGW is arbitrarily from ‘the north east’ (rob falconer’s portrayal, whereas chris leask’s portrayal is firmly and specifically scouse.)

he has a twitter account (rob falconer’s portrayal) @trevtechie, with i think probably the most tweets of the cornley twitters. stopped being updated in 2017.

his participation in haversham was to complete an electronics module - as the light and sound technician i’d assume his course was in this kinda field.

he states that after haversham he wants to never work with the cornley drama society again, but as of PPGW he’s “following in his parents footsteps” and has pivoted to possibly actually studying stage management. (his PPGW bio states that he’s in his final year at the uni for the 3rd time running. so it could mean his staying on with cornley is like partially due to failing his course?)

dennis tyde:

in his TPTGW bio it states that he joined the drama society after failing to get in to any other societies.

he didn’t live on university campus and commuted in from his parents’ house. he mostly just wanted to make friends - he’s interested in snooker and wants to meet like-minded people.

in his PPGW bio he still wants to make friends and says you can reach him via twitter @dennistyde. i checked this account too and again it does exist but hasn’t been used since 2013, and there are only 3 tweets so its much more bare-bones than the others. i like his one tweet about drinking a mug of bovril to calm his nerves before a show.

as of 2021 in promotional vids we learn that dennis and robert now live together.

max bennett:

in TPTGW bio it says he was a first year studying human geography and crime which i was surprised about but sure okay. it also says here that he happily donated “a large portion of his recent inheritance” to the society to help fund it.

at the bottom of TPTGW’s cast page it states that the west end performance of the play is “made possible by a generous legacy from claude bennett” who’s presumably max’s grandfather? or just father? idk

his TPTGW bio also says his favourite movie is the legend of bagger vance which i’ve never seen but is apparently a will smith golf movie.

his hobbies as listed in his PPGW bio are chess, cooking & hanging out with friends and fam. he also dedicates his performance in PPGW to his grandma claire, which is sweet.

annie twilloil:

as of TPTGW she’s designed, built, painted, costumed & stage managed every cornley show for the past 3 years. in the PPGW bio, it states she’s studying cognitive behavioural therapy and pottery, and has taken up life drawing at the student’s union (as the model.)

after haversham, she apparently had an internship lined up at the bolton octagon.

she has WILD backstory in her PPGW bio that says she dedicated her performance to her estranged husband julian who she hoped was in the audiance and two children frangipani and ylang-ylang. not sure if the kids are with her or with the husband but either way, wild. nuts. pretty funny but also pretty tragic.

she’s also got an ad out looking for a new bloke (i suppose if her husband isn’t in the audience) apparently she’s been left by boyfriends previously for an air hostess, a stripper, and a coal miner.

she also enjoys knitting and playing the banjolin (an instrument she made herself.) her email address is [email protected].

she has a twitter account that again hasnt been used since 2017 (@annietwiloil). a couple tweets chronicle dave hearn’s shoulder dislocation but as max so i guess its canon that max also dislocated his shoulder, but he did it while trying to open a twix? lmao

sandra wilkinson:

in her TPTGW bio it states that haversham manor is her 11th production with the company. idk how frequently they put on shows.

she won some kind of local kids beauty pageant in 1998 and did some modelling for a local restaurant (the sunam balti house, which apparently the cornley crew frequent? or have at least been to - seems they struggled with spicyness levels there, especially dennis.)

nothing on her course at the university, i might just take a stab and assume she was actually doing acting, since her bio is mostly about her being a performer.

she’s a big fan of jeremy irvine, they mention him in both of her bios.

jonathan harris:

is a total health & fitness guy. his course at the uni is in physical education and he’s also a model, though who’s to say what for. in PPGW this is expanded and he’s moved on to being a combo model/actor/photographer/lifecoach.

he loves his outdoor sports: mountain biking & kayaking are noted.

he had a bath salts advert out and he hoped it was gonna go national.

lucy grove:

her surname IS grove! i wasn’t sure, but that’s confirmed. not really much about her in there, because the bio is written by robert and he just used it to gas himelf up.

can’t tell if she’s a student at the university or just in the society through robert. genuinely there’s just not a lot to go on when it comes to lucy.

another note is that the murder at haversham manor and the version of peter pan that the cornley crew perform are both written by ‘susie h. k. brideswell’ who i guess either chris knows or chris is a big fan of?

other notes... they try so hard to make out like the characters aren't all the same age like implying that robert is genuinely older than most of them etc etc but ofc the cast featured in the TV broadcasts are all visibly the same age... ofc all this is just comedy innit so you can take it or leave it

also i realised that the american version of TPTGW calls it “the cornley university drama society” since i guess you guys dont have polytechnics over there. a polytechnic is like... a university that offers the arts (among the classics you know science law what have you) basically. by 2021 in promotional videos etc. shields in character as chris has dropped “polytechnic” altogether from the group’s name (but varies between calling it ‘the cornley drama society’ and ‘the cornley amateur dramatics society’) i assume to reflect how much time has passed since the group put on their first production under chris’ leadership - and that now they’re simply operating unattached to the university because they’ve become a real family. love love love, sillyness and love.
