Hi, I think the name Corvus is really cool! I just had a few questions like how to pronounce it and how you picked it :-)
Oh tysm!
So its pronounced Kor-vis (or Kor-vus, i dont really care tbh, they sound similar anyway) thats the best way i can describe it lmao
And I'm so glad you asked where I got it bc theres so many reasons lmao
The biggest reason is that Corvus means "crow" in Latin. I was thinking one day about how I collect shiny things much like crows, and that led to thinking about Corvids in general. Corvid is the name of the bird family crows, ravens, magpies, and I believe grackles belong to. I actually wanted to go by Corvid at first, but it sounded too much like Covid, so uhhh small change of plan haha
Another big reason is because of Apollo! Crows and ravens are sacred to Apollo, and one of my favorite myths about him involves crows. The myth itself is actually commemorated (?) in the stars by a constellation called.... Corvus!
Another smaller reason I actually didn't realize till later is this ASMR channel I watch sometimes, Ephemeral Rift, has a really cool plague doctor character named Corvus!
So yeah there you have it! The origins and pronounciation of my name! Thanks so much for asking :DDD

I got into the dragon prince now because of you, curse you for adding to my list of obsessions. But actually one of my favourite things about the show was that there isn't a good and a bad side? It's not all 'we are the good guys who must fight these cruel evil people and win' it's like 'both sides have done terrible things, so we're just going to try to make peace' and I just thought it was really nice to see something like that I don't know if I have seen anything like that before
woooo welcome aboard!!! :’DDD I actually think grey morality is becoming pretty prevalent in animation now (as with all media), but yeah Dragon Prince is definitely lots of fun because a lot of people seem to have genuine intentions even if their actions don’t always seem to reflect it, and you find yourself really rooting for characters like Amaya, Runaan, Claudia, Soren, Corvus, ect, even when they pose obstacles to the main characters. I’m glad you’re having fun with it though!! :’D im...working on my last minute Rayla cosplay for comiccon rn actually,, rip me,,
