HERE IS A LIST OF THE 30 MAIN KIPO AUs I WANT BUT WILL NEVER HAVE BECAUSE THE FANFIC COMMUNITY IS TINY IN ORDER OF SPOILERINESS (FEWEST SPOILERS FIRST OBVIOUSLY)

1. An AU where Kipo doesn't end up on the surface in the first episode, and has to go through the events with the mega monkey still looking for her

2. An AU in which all of Kipo's people are actually dead, and she's the only survivor. Depression for everyone!!

3. An AU where Margot never betrayed Wolf, and the two have a very close and codependent relationship. Bonus points if Wolf gets kidnapped by Scarlemagne

4. An AU where Wolf's wolf parents never actually betrayed her and raised her alongside the other children. Wolf girl wolf.

5. AU where the protagonists end up separated after Ratland, with Kipo and Benson trying their best to escape Scarlemagne's place without Scarlemagne realizing they're there while Wolf, Mandu, and Dave try to save them

6. AU like #1, except Lio fucking dies and Kipo's body now assumes it is in danger a lot more. So now she's dealing with the mega monkey and turning into the mega jaguar

7. Kipo gets along a little too well with the timbercats, and they kind of adopt her. Parental Yumyan and Molly. They're not surprised to find out she's part cat and teach her how to properly kitty

8. In which Lio turns out to be the mega monkey, somehow.

9. In which Kipo was raised on the surface, and is kind of known as the local feral half cat creature. Naturally, Scarlemagne kidnaps her for weapon usage and oops. Guess he has to teach the feral out of her

10. In which Jamack joins the protagonists (if you didn't think my man would be here you're wrong)

11. Let Kipo get upset about the whole mega jaguar thing PLEASE

12. Song and Lio raise Kipo, while Song is suppressing the mutagen and struggling more and more as she gets older.

13. Song turns out to fill Dr. Emilia's role, and is actually trying to end mutekind.

14. Emilia gets her hands on Kipo, but mistakes her for a normal human (somehow) so Kipo grows up in the science burrow believing mutes killed her parents and that what Emilia is doing is justified. Bonus points if she's Emilia's protege/assistant/intern

15. Emilia gets her hands on Kipo, knowing that she's Song and Lio's daughter, and decides she can use Kipo as a weapon. This would involve a lot of dehumanization and likely good brother Scarlemagne/Hugo. Also Lio? Totally dead

16. AU where Lio manages to yoink Hugo. That's the AU. Hugo and Lio and Kipo as family.

17. AU #16 with angst: Lio gets captured, so it's just Hugo and Kipo. Bonus points if Kipo grows up in Ratland

18. For even more angst, Scarlemagne kidnaps Kipo, raising her in his blooming empire. Except Scarlemagne has no idea how to raise a child, especially not one who's half mega jaguar.

19. Where Mulholland doesn't help Kipo, and Scarlemagne's coronation goes as planned.

20. Where Emilia kidnapping the mutes was a trap, and it works as planned. Kipo is in for such a bad time.

21. Where what Emilia did to the mutes she kidnapped mutes is a lot more horrific than in cannon.

22. WOLF BOTHERS TO REPLACE STALKY

23. Margot changes her mind about betraying Wolf sooner, and Emilia never captures any of the protagonists. Consequently, Emilia sneaks into timbercat village to conduct her evil plans.

24. Instead of Yumyan, Kipo gets hit by the cure. Consequently, the decision is made to have the mega jaguar deal with all subsequent human incidents. This prevents It's a Trap from happening.

25. Kipo gets hit by the cure, except it works. No more mega jaguar, but she gets back to timbercat village.

26. Kipo goes through with sinking the cruise ship. Insert huge crisis (and maybe Song, Lio, or both of them rejecting Kipo/treating her like a monster. Please. I live for angst)

27. AU where Dave kills child Benson, and is a reoccurring side character who's literally just a bastard

28. Fun Gus Monster Emilia. Like just IMAGINE if she took Gus' DNA instead of the mega walrus. Sludge monsters are underrated imo, and she could do so much fucking damage.

29. Emilia gets stuck as a half mute, and gets shoved in prison. Maybe with Hoag.

Kipo headcannon: Those affected by the cure age differently from normal animals. Why else is yumyan an elderly cat still alive after five years.

This makes sense actually!

I also like the headcanon that he's just one of those cats that look like a old man no matter their age

7 years after prahm and song gathers the mutes and the main characters to reveal she has finally found a way to reverse the cure on the mutes affected.unfortunately song has found that once the cure is reversed the effected will have no memory similar to Stan pines in gravity falls final but the mutes such as Amy and good billions state they are willing to help their loved ones when they are returned. This leads to one moments with a character helping a returned character and dealing with the emotions of them having no memory of them.

There's just something about character's whose aspirations are fulfilled only when they are no longer around to see it.

In Steven Universe, Rose wanted everyone to be free to be who they are. She died ("gave up her physical form") thinking that was never going to happen.

In She-Ra, Mara wants Etheria (and the rest of the universe) to be free from the grasp of colonists and dictators. She ultimately died knowing that it wouldn't be enough.

In Kipo, this can be seen with Hugo, Brad, Yumyan, and all of the other "cured" mutes.

And then, years down the line, their hopes for a better world are fulfilled. And they aren't around to see it.

They will never know that the world they so desperately yearned for exists. And the people that love them will never be able to let them know.

And in some of these, it's made so much worse by the fact that for this world, the world they want to see, to exist, they had to die.

Rose Quartz could never have been the symbol needed to truly change the Diamond's minds. If Mara hadn't sacrificed herself, Etheria wouldn't have lasted long enough to be saved.

And that's the inherent tragedy in it. Not one road led to their happiness. And yet, the world that they would have been happy in now exists.

Anchorless

(Based off a snipet I wrote about my o.c Pyro and how far they'd go for Kipo. Only for their sacrifice to horribly backfire. Also the idea of being anchorless was just really intresting to me. Just being lost to yourself and getting stuck in that animal mind set.)

You were falling. Grasping at air as feathers fluttered around you. You had just wanted to help. You wanted Kipo to know she wasn't alone. But now you were dropping, getting further and further from your friends. From the fight. From yourself.

Looking around trying to find something anything to stop your descent you begin to panic as you continue to free fall. Kipo needed back up, she needed support. She needed you! You thought if you did what Emilia did maybe... maybe...

There's a loud caw as the bird above you flaps their wings sending it's feathers fluttering down. Feeling the air leave your lungs as you fall they rise above you and you notice they're your favorite color. They're you.

Closing your eyes hearing the wind whistle in your ears as it throws your hair around, the shouts fade away, and you plummet. Slowly you feel yourself loose control receeding deep into your mind as adrenaline courses through your body. Reaching out hoping to grab something, anything, your head spins. Your grip is slowly slipping from your mute side as it begins to take over. As it forces you to keep falling.

"(Y/N)!" Snapping your eyes open your floating in space. You can't see out of your own eyes anymore but you can see all your old memories. The mute is gone and you stand on nothing. Clouds surround you making you nervous as you begin to wander about trying to find a way to control yourself again.

"..." Unable to speak you walk, footsteps silent as the fog of your mind muffles all sound.

Seeing yourself and your friends you pause hand stretched to grab one but you feel yourself sinking into the clouds. Pulling back from your memories the sinking stops and your left alone and trapped in your own mind. Tears slipped down your cheeks as you open your mouth trying to scream but there's no sound.

Spinning around panicked you couldn't see a way out, you were stuck. You were lost in yourself. The cawing from before gets louder and as you fall to your knees sinking into the fog your surrounded by your repeating memories. Closing your eyes you feel yourself flying.

"(Y/N)! (Y/N)!!!" Kipo continued calling out to you but you had long stopped responding. Emilia was cured and gone forever, you'd done it.

As she stood there watching you, a mega bird she smiled sadly.

"Come on (Y/N)... Come back..." She mumbles but you don't hear her. You don't have an anchor, you can't change back and there's no more cure.

Shaking as she watches you, Hugo wrapped his arms around her and she began crying into his jacket, slowly sinking to her knees. You'd saved her life. You'd saved Hugos life. All the mutes. All her friends. But at what cost? Was it worth it?

"... Kipo..." Hugo mumbled. He looked up and the Mega Bird you'd become was flapping it's wings looking around confused. It cawed staring at something near them before looking away but it's eyes. They were devoid of intelligence. It was just a hollow husk of (Y/N) and there was no cure and no pre established anchor. If they couldn't find themselves they'd be lost forever.

"Hey Kipo it's okay-" Lio tries to soothe but Kipo shakes her head.

"No dad! No it's not!" Kipo responds. She's shaking as she clutches her brothers jacket. She was so close to loosing him. She already lost YumYan Hammerpaw and so many others. No you too. Please not you too!

"Kipo we can figure this out. We can help them." Song states but Kipo doesn't listen this is all her fault.

"(Y/N) PLEASE!!!" She begs pleading for you to change back. Tears streak down her face and her eyes turn pink as she shakes. They'd lost so much not you too!

"Wait kid you'll-" Jamack tries to warn but it's to late. With a couple flaps of the Mega birds multiple wings you were gone.

You were gone...

Your body felt heavy. Hand digging into the dirt like claws you were numb. Your entire body... something was wrong with it but you didn't know what. Grunting your eyes glance around, vision blurred.

"... Ugh..." You can't remember what happened. Why you felt this way but whatever you'd been through it made your entire body hurt. Had Emilia smacked you around that much? "... guys?" You call out but your voice is scratchy. When you get no response you slowly push yourself up and look around. The jungle your in is empty. You're alone.

Getting up you teeter before leaning on a tree and vomitting. Shaking after you finish, you wipe at your mouth once your stomachs emptied. A feather flutters from your hair and you pause remembering the hell you endured. Looking around there were feathers everywhere.

Lightheaded and dizzy the transformation being very draining, you begin stumbling in a direction hoping to find home. Minutes blend into hours as the sun falls and the forest becomes dark. Your cold, hungry, and tired but you continue to stumble.

Seeing the Timbercats village your vision goes blurry as you collapse outside the wooden wall. Noises erupt around you and feeling hands on you, you smile before everything fades to black that same voice that brought you back calling your name as you fade away.

time to talk about the whole show because oh my god, one of my favorite binges this year. (⚠️spoilers⚠️ ahead and this is really long so tl:dr at the end lol) 

(so i’m writing this as i’m watching the last episode ) and one thing i absolutely love is kipo never once goes against her morals, she stands for something and never does anything else, there is the time where she’s about to sink amelia’s ship but she doesn’t, she never once compromises herself and that’s why she’s so strong and capable, she befriended even the unlikeliest of mutes just because she saw the best in every one of them, even at the end she still wanted amelia to join her in a new society, a better society. i love kipo so much and the message that this show sends in absolutely incredible. now onto some thoughts as i conclude this arch of posting about kipo and the age of wonder beasts 

scarlemagne playing scared with the kids is the cutest thing i’ve seen possibly ever 

I CANT BELIEVE YUMYAN GOT CURED AND IT WAS IN THE TITLE OF THE EPISODE IM SO SAD. 

no wonder amelia is the way she is, her dad sucks. 

the parallels between this show, and legend of korra, the owl house, star vs the forces of evil, i love it so much, i love shows like these it’s incredible. 

specifically kipo, she reminds me so much of luz it’s crazy, the way they both see the best in everyone, so easy to trust, made friends with people who clearly didn’t like her but it didn’t matter. their unconditional hope for people, it’s beautiful. 

amelia becoming a mega mute to kill the mutes because of her learned prejudice against them is such a believable path for her, i kinda love it, i love amelia in the same way i love kuvira, like yeah they did horrible things but it was for a realistic reason. idk i just like villains like those 

scarlemagne, oh my god, i love him so much, probably my favorite character in this show, the way he went from over the top theatrics in the first season, to my parents never loved me in the second, to im gonna help them because i forgive them and they’ve forgiven me, i just love it, it’s great, his character development is real and true and i would simply die for him. to bad he died :( words cannot express the amount of sadness i felt when he was going, i’m so upset dude, i feel betrayed, it’s always my favorite characters who end up dying

in conclusion, wow. 

(tl:dr very well written show with good twists and great characters and even better casting choices, i love it a lot and so should all of you, thank you and goodnight.)

You know i think from the cured mutes the worst ones we're brad and bad billions

Brad: mostly since amy lost noth ratland and brad who died during the timeskip i like to headcanon that the new ratland has a brad memorial statue

Bad Billions: mostly since he took the shot for good billions abd thise last words words of his about feeling like a star fading atleast he still in the observator with gb in the timeskip though i headcanon that good billions still is desperately trying to get his brother

brad and bad billions are definitely two of the saddest of the cured mutes, brad ESPECIALLY just makes me... sad. he wasn't even doing anything, he believed in peace between species and then..... yeah

but i'd also like to say what happened to yumyan was very sad and i'm still not over it- though i AM happy that molly still brings him around and takes care of him <3

and then, another one that got me was camille, and how cotton desperately wanted her to be able to fight the cure off like a venom. and how she had to run afterwards to avoid getting hit herself :')

Personal theory and headcannon for kipo Lio and Dong are working on an antidote for the cure still and 7 years post prahm they succeed although they suffer from memory loss.

If it means I get my boy Yumyan back I will share this headcanon

Yumyan’s Big Hero Moment

It’s pretty safe to say we all agree that it was heart-breaking to see Yumyan Hammerpaw get “cured.” 

The piano rendition of his theme song was both beautiful and crushing. Kipo and the others prematurely celebrating that everyone had made it out of the situation okay hurt because we, the audience, had seen that dart heading towards him and this musical flourish essentially confirmed the worst.

But at least we know he went out a hero, saving Wolf, Benson, and Dave.

That is not, however, the moment that I thought was his most heroic.

The moment that stirred my soul and brought on a whole new wave of tears was what he asked Kipo to do for him.

“Tell them the stories of Yumyan Hammerpaw. The good and the bad.” [Emphasis mine]

When we first met Yumyan, he would never have said such a thing. He was all about looking like he was truly fearless, basically flawless. He led the Timbercats on this mythical idea that to be great you couldn’t fail. And so the one time he had failed and couldn’t hide it, he hid in the canopies of the trees for 3 days and allowed his people to hurt for him so he wouldn’t have to face his shame and own up to that failure. 

That is the kind of cat he was when we first met him. That Yumyan, the one who didn’t know Kipo, would have rather died from hunger up in those trees than let anyone tell a bad story about him.

His true big hero moment isn’t just saving his friends, it’s acknowledging that his shortcomings and mistakes have value, too, and all the parts of his story should be passed on to help others grow.

And I just gotta say that I really, really love that.
