When you’re experiencing hardship, having a friend will always help to keep you up.

This is another installment in my post-coma AU. When Komaeda falls into his coma, Chiaki invites Hajime to come live with her with Haruto. At first, he’s not convinced. He doesn’t to impose, especially when he has to raise his newborn baby. But Chiaki is insistent, not wanting to deal with the burdens of childrearing and Komaeda’s coma alone.

So after his hospital discharge, Hajime and a week-old Haruto move into Chiaki's apartment, and stay there until Komaeda wakes up, and is ready to live together in his house with his partner and child.

Chiaki is a grounding presence for Hajime, helping him with Haruto, taking over when the baby wakes up at night, and just offering emotional support when Hajime is starts graduate school in hope of getting a well-paying job in the future to support Haruto and hinself, and secretly to pay back Chiaki and what he spent of Nagito's fortune.
