Miss Fisher Snippets (157)
Hugh’s marriage proposal version 2 was much better. In fact, Dot called it “just perfect”, and I concurred. It was genuine, sweet, and delivered straight from his heart. Well done, Collins.

now i know phryne did not serve him ~that wine, she’s OUTRAGEOUS 😭 there’s some symbolism in that, i know it but won’t dwell on it 😂😭
and the hat. the hat! ‘for the next woman who uses you for target practice.’ if he keeps not kissing her, that woman will be me.
(can we also talk about the way she brushes her hands down his lapels, she really takes any opportunity to touch that man!)
also, jack knowing german and poetry on TOP of shakespeare ???? no need to be this attractive ✋🏻 the fact he’s repressed and long-suffering and helplessly devoted to one woman was enough, thank you. phryne is the love of my life but jack was bringing his a game today, with the whole abandoning everything to come to her rescue and showing up at the last minute and offering understated romantic advice (he’s grumpy but he’s hopeless) and looking at phryne with those ~eyes there at the end, i know you’re an absolute sap of a man but pull yourself together (he cannot).
anyway trouble phryne and worried jack is ~that dynamic and she’ll always be trouble and he’ll always be right there to help her, despite all his talk and his better judgement, and i guess they’re back to nightcaps at her house and universe righting itself

Phryne's third outfit of "Death on the Vine" (Season 2, Episode 10) features a gorgeous green winter coat trimmed with white fur, pants and one of her signature cloches.
Miss Fisher dons yet another fabulous example of outwear in the form of a long green and black plaid tweed coat. The wide collar is trimmed with white fur along the neckline and the cuffs of the sleeves. The coat also has white inset panel stripes, similar to the gray tweed coat worn in 1x05, stretching from underneath her arm around to the back with two bold angles marked with a pair of white buttons at the back.
The white blouse underneath has an attached tie, as seen in 2x07 "Death at the Wheel", loosely knotted above the curved neckline. She pairs this with her classic black silk faille pants, and accessorizes with black leather gloves, black and white low heels, and white frosted crystal earrings (seen on the bottom left of the exhibition photo).
Her cloche was custom-made to match her winter coat, using quality black felt. It has an upturned asymmetrical brim with green and black antique feathers, accented with a button covered in the same tweed fabric as the coat.

Miss Fisher Snippets (156)
Hugh’s marriage proposal version 1 was comical – unintentionally, of course. The poor lad copied a verse from Twelfth Night as hinted by his boss but failed to accomplish the intended effect. His delivery was terrible to begin with, and he didn’t fully understand the context. I wonder if he later told Jack and had a laugh, or he was too embarrassed to share the episode with anyone.

Seriously tho how come an actual cold-blooded murderer of countless souls and willing traitor is worthy of second chances and full redemption by fandom, but these same people won’t give Spirit any second chance!?!
Something is seriously not computing here.

The fourth and final outfit Miss Fisher wears in "Death on the Vine" (Season 2, Episode 10) is one of her comfortable home ensembles, with a red velvet jacket, textured blouse, classic black pants, and clustered jewel earrings.
This velvet jacket is a deep crimson with patterned red and gold piping in the front and back shoulder seams. It has wide cape sleeves that split at the elbow and hang down into tails with a deep purple lining fabric.
Phryne's matching red blouse is a fantastic textured lace, with open weblike red circles linked together in rows. It has a rolled cowl neckline and is over a dark camisole. She pairs this with her silk faille black pants and comfy black flats.
She accessorizes with several pieces of fabulous jewelry. There's a pair of clustered diamond earrings on long stems, and a large amethyst ring worn on her left hand.
