Can you tell me where in the myths Ares is the protector of mistreated ones? I don't mean any kind of modern interpretations, but rather some credible sources to show that any of ancients perceived him that way. I can't find any myths also where he protect any women outside his family. I do like Ares but I don't want to make claims that are wrong and you seem to know a lot about him.

And what is your opinion on the festival of Ares where no women were allowed? Doesn't that contradict the festival where he was feasted upon by women?

Well, there is no such a source that directly claims that Ares is "the protector of the mistreated". It is a general belief that was conducted from his mythology. I first heard the phrase "Protector of the mistreated" from one of my visits to a museum here in Greece, as an archeologist explained some scenery.

I had the same question just like you, and what I did of course was to research more this term, and by reading and interpreting, the conclusion was the same.

Let me be more specific.

Ares avenged his daughter's sexual assault by Hallirothios. Poseidon demanded Ares to be tried on Areios Pagos. It was the first try to have happened. Avenging a rape in ancient times was something out of logic, because women didn't have the rights they have today, especially in ancient Athens, were the incident took place. Ares surprised everyone with his action. All the male gods voted for Ares' guilt, but all the female goddesses voted for Ares' innocence. Ares was finally acquitted of all charges, because Athena's vote counted as double. That speaks volumes. Ares gave voice to the rights of the mistreated women by sexual abuse, to which all of the goddesses agreed.

Also, Ares was the first one of the gods to defend Olympus against the Aloadai. Both the Aloadai claimed to be wedded to Hera and Artemis, after their conquer. Ares came to defend Olympus and the honor of his mother and sister. And the most surprising thing is that Ares and Artemis do not interact much in Greek mythology, apart from both siding with the Trojans in the Trojan War. There are no whatsoever myths about these two. And what is more interesting is the fact that when Ares was trapped, Artemis and Hermes freed him. That means that Artemis may have appreciated Ares' stance towards her.

And I wanna disagree to the fact that Ares supported only his family. Once upon a time, there was a typical Greek miserable woman, wedded to an abusive husband. That woman wanted to get out of that life and she trained herself and the women in her town in martial arts. Then, when they were trained enough, they slew all the men in the town and left to a land to built their own feminine city. They opposed many enemies on the road there, and Ares was impressed by that woman's initiative. Ares, for tge first time ever, descended from Olympus to the mortal world to meet this woman and offer her a favor. She would build him a temple in his name, and he will make the feminine tribe one of the most fearful and feared tribe of women all around the word. The woman accepted the offer, and she was described as Otrera, the first queen of the Amazons and Ares' bride. From Otrera's rise till the fall of the Amazon nation, Ares kept his promise to always protect and be there for them. He helped those mistreated women to build a huge empire and leave and even greater legacy behind them....

Now, about the festival of Ares that no women were allowed, there is not much to say. Greeks had their own ways to worship a god, for their own reasons. It seems fair that if there was a feast were no men were allowed, then there should have been one were no women were allowed.

To sum this up, there is no such a source that directly claims Ares to be the protector of the mistreated. It is just a title that was appraised to him by his contribution to such cases. Some things have a deeper meaning, which only can be conceived through research! Thanks for the question! 😉😄

The Airport Incident

synopsis: the incident which made protecting yeona at airports, seungcheol's personal mission

year: 2016

Yeona had a rough time early in their rookie days. Likely because debuting in a group dominated by 13 men as the only female member didn't seem favorable to a lot of people.

She was subject to a lot of criticism and hate. She hated it. It absolutely broke her to constantly hear these for a year

Why is she there?

They would do better without her.

I wouldn't even be surprised if she seduced one of them. Probably all of them.

It became worse when they were scheduled to fly from Seoul to New York for Kcon.

Yeona had a security team plus her members to guard her if anything went wrong but some moments still surprises her.

Seungcheol was walking beside her. The rest of the members were either ahead or behind them. She had a mask on, her passport and ticket in her hands, and a bag craddling on her shoulder.

It would've been a normal airport day, until the unprecedented happened. They might have slipped passed their attention because the next thing Yeon knew someone was pulling on her hair.

"You're such a slut!" A woman, who could've been in her late teens or early twenties shouted at her after she took a good tug.

Shock would've been an understatement for everyone. "What the hell?!" Seungcheol shouted quickly putting himself in front of Yeona to cover her from the woman. The other members approached their leader and female member as well for defense while the security team was taking the woman away. "They would've done fine without you!", the woman added before she was finally escorted away.

Her and the members were also being asked to walk faster and to get away from the crowd, to get more privacy.

Yeona was stil recovering from the shock. Her hand was on the back of her head, and her other was holding onto Seungcheol's arms for support. The leader had his arms wrapped around the girl while rubbing ber back.

"Are you okay? Did she do anything else?" asked the elder, with his eyes on the girls face, which she replied with a, "No. I'm fine, just a bit surprised"

"What the fuck just happened?" Mingyu whisper-shouted who just recovered from the shock himself, and quickly came over to check on his friend. "What is their problem? That was so uncalled for!" Seungkwan exclaimed.

"Yeona, oh my god" Seokmin stated in a concerned voice as he touched her face. Wonwoo approached her next. Worry was clearly evident in his face and one look at her expression he quickly knew that she was holding back her tears. "You're not okay...", He whispered to her. It was a signal for her that it was okay to cry.

Seungcheol let go of his hold on her and passed her to Wonwoo so he can replace him in comforting her. "I'll talk to security"

"You know it's not true right? Whatever they said" She heard Jeonghan say from behind. "We want you here with us." Vernon adds to the conversation. One-by-one the members added words if affirmation, enough to help Yeona dismiss the thoughts of whatever was thrown at her.

We're glad you debuted with us.

We wouldn't want anyone else to debut with us.

You deserve to be here.

No one else could have done a better job than you.

"We need you with us" Wonwoo added as he kissed to crown of her head.

From the corner of her eye, she could see her leader talking to tge security team and their manager.

She couldn't hear well but Seungcheol was asking to double security on her because he now realizes how serious the hate around her was going that it would lead to the point that people would harass her in public, where he also asked their manager to quickly contact their company to have someone deal with it and have someone take legal action on whoever harasses her next.

Once he had returned from his conversation, he returned back to the girl who was being held by Wonwoo. "Yeona I'm so sorry I let this happen" Seungcheol told the younger member.

The 96 liner let go of his hold but still stood close enough, "Oppa, it's not your fault. Don't say sorry"

"I still should've watch out for you out there, I should've kept an eye op-" his rumbling was stopped by her hand touching his shoulder. "Stop beating yourself up over something you didn't know would happen. It was scary but I'm okay now."

"I'll protect you better from now on" He promised

She continued talking "You're doing a great job already"

It had been a normal night. The kids had been driven home hours ago and ratchet was basking in the silence as he worked. That silence was shattered by the rest of the team frantically charging into the room. "Ratchet the children are in danger they're being hunted by something. We need a groundbridge immediately." Optimus declared as he rushed in. At those words ratchet snapped into action, worry gripping his spark. "What are there coordinates?" He called over his shoulder firing up the bridge the moment he got the numbers. The portal couldn't open fast enough, the second it was stable he tore in transforming and flicking on his sirens. The rest of the team followed after just as desperately though the medic barely noticed. The few seconds it took to cross over felt agonizingly long mere moments stretching into an eternity.

The first thing he saw was the monsters hunting his children. They looked like something out of mikos horror movies, half rotten, hulking beast covered in matted, stained fur. They were unnatural things, their rusted metal insides bared for the world to see from the missing patches ridling their oversized frames. There were four each a rough approximation of an animal; one a badger, another an owl, the other a fox, and the last what ratchet could only guess was some kind of canine likely a wolf. He snapped out of his shock once he spotted the children running towards them, still in their night clothes disheveled and terrified. He lurched towards them, swerving to a stop a few feet away, his passenger side turned towards them and his doors flung open. One of the beasts, the badger, was gaining on them as they approached him, the distance between ratchet and them and it rapidly closing. Just as the children were only a foot away and the beast roughly half that, to ratchets horror, miko suddenly split off in a new direction. The creature followed as did the rest of them all focusing their pursuit on her. The boys climbed inside right as one of tge beasts pounced on miko.

The next few seconds were a blurr, he heard bulkhead yell mikos name, saw a blurr of green, and heard a energon chilling scream. The next second her voice crackled into a metallic screech and he saw a deteriorated husk crudely based off a bat in mikos place. The things fur, or atleast what was left, was dark and crusty looking and clung to its frame in clumps revealing machinery that shouldn't have been functional anymore. Its arms and feet were stripped down to the metal, chunks of the casing on its stomach were missing, the top half of one of its ears was torn off and the right side of its face was completely gone revealing a metal skull with a plastic eye still jammed into the socket. The badger simply stared down at it as if waiting for something. It wrapped its leathery wings around itself despite being as riddled in punctures and tears as the rest of its rotten frame. He rushed forward without thinking, transforming into his root mode and back from one vent to the next scooping the broken thing up and tossing her inside as he did. A thousand questions swarmed in his mind, but despite them one thing held firm, those questions could wait until he got his kids out of danger and into the base.

Left Mario Movie hour plus back

Mario movie a fun ride. Not deficient but "deep" parts are simple and basic. But the fun parts? Hilarious and amazing.

Bowser's characterization is...great

I love his motive and what it says about him

He is baby version of a psychopath

Peach is Rei or mary sue because her job is literally to be adored and flawless. She's basically miss america meets Ka el or Moses in a Tiara

She had to learn to do that course in heels and is an alien who has almost outgrown her sandbox but her equivalent of the paper pleasers aren't conveniently disposable

She looks flawless because she works at it and we see her not be right, wrt fighting Kong. Or overwhelmed (the entire plot hinges on Bowser and co being so powerful She has to ask for aid and she has nothing to bargain or leverage when gets there.)

Her bouquet trick might as well be a page from the mario playbook, cooperation with as to clearing over plus no quitting, with her own twists.

So she gains something from the association plus acts as mentor to mario

The scene leaving on the quest is essential also to realizing her "perfection" doesn't just happen and isn't for her aggrandizement . It's a duty to the people who need her to step up.

She isn't belittling and rejecting Mario she is lionizing him lifting him to be her equal (not there yet but doesn't matter for their relationship). And also learning to let go of the reins a little. That she can rely on and befriend others. She doesn't resent being a princess but views it as an honor and duty and responsibility she earns every second.

Of course in contrast to Bowser who is patronizing and abusive and insecure and self centered

I do like that Bowser is like a PG action adventure version of the guy from You. And his patheticness resonates through his character

I know wrong to victim blame and he was never a baby angel but Ye gods how did Kamek raise him so damn wrong?

As it's 90 minutes I say watch. Buy its not "important" just fun.

so me n my partner spend a lot of our couch time watching stupid youtube things right. and i have a fuckin rant abt something we watched.

And he is a lot more... willing to humor white male shit essentially right. cause hes a white boy. and hes like, pretty leftish mostly, enjoys talking politics and philosophy, is very social, very community oriented. But also is like, rural alberta farm boy and also very openly has some views that are like. "counter" mainstream leftist talking points; which honestly i rarely have problems with and usually agree with the nuances of or at least see where they come from; and im talking like. naunces of gun control and him leaning more anarchist and having issue with some of canadas un issue points- which i generally dont disagree with. like hunters wanting access to rifles that can have more than one shot so they can humanely kill aninals they might not have got a clean shot on. like i can fuck with that logic. Not like. white suprem shit or anything.

ANYWAY. back to the youtube point. so we also both like to watch thing that lean right just to like. keep informed stay out of the trap of insular bubble sometimes. and were watching this one guy who like. honestly generally pretty politically unoffensive, more just vulgar and absurdism. but he did a video about (mainly) women posting videos from the gym painting men in a predatory light, with a lot of emphasis on how illogical and unfair the women are, how the men are "just doing normal if not polite things".

and i have a lot of beef with it. like im genuinely quite angry and started seeing if i could feasibly contact this man to have a more nuanced discussion. which im pretty sure no cause hes p popular and im sure the video is at least to some degree clickbait.

but this idea really gets me. because its one of the misogynist talking points my partner is more vulnerable to as well. like the.. frustration white men feel often of being ostracised, demonised, pushed aside for the sake of other demographics nowadays. and i dont want to sound like i think that is a more important talking point, but its where he often sticks right. like why do they get priority type vibes. But this whole video is predicated on the fact that "oh men cant exist in public without being villainized on the internet" bUT LIKE. THE WOMEN ARE JUST SCARED.

like a lot of the women wERE saying and doing dumb shit. sure. but what men cANT GET THROUGH THEIR FUCKING HEADS. is WOMEN. FEAR. YOU. not YOU. or what your doing, just MEN. ENTIRELY. yea these dudes WERE doing things that may have been completely nuetral. glancing towards movement, asking about equipment, etc. nothing they did was outright predatory. but MEN as a concept are predatory. as many women die every year as some entire war death counts. largely at tge hands of men. men are literally the biggest risk to their lives. you dont HAVE to be doing anything wrong. your physical proximity is a RISK. that nuetral glance could be one from someone taking stock of if you are a potential victim. women dONT KNOW you are safe. they have NO REASON to assume as such.

So basically I started homeschooling a couple of years ago cause my school really sucked and there were a lot of bullying problems and I was super stressed and basically spent my whole time defending my friends and my mental health was really struggling. When I left my small friend had promised she would message me alot and stay in touch and what not but within a few weeks she stopped responding. At the time I was obviously really upset but tried to see itfrom their point of view and came to the conclusion that that she was just really struggling with school and couldn't really message much.

The thing is she was pretty much my only friend at the time because all my friends from the year above stopped talking to me too but I wasn't as close to them anyway cause after lockdown we couldn't talk at school anyway cause they put us in year group bubbles. I still really missed them tho cause we were super close pre-covid. Eventually I got a bit closer to someone from the year below me who I had talked to a bit on school but not much till after I left. anyway that made me a but happier but I was still super lonely and started convincing myself that I was just really unlikeable and that's why all my friends stopped talking to me no matter how much I reached out. So yeah my mental health was way worse than before and ut just got way worse when I realised my younger friend cared about me way less then I cared about them and then when they stopped talking to me altogether too.

So yeah for about 2 years I was basically alone and my only friends were tumblr ones and as much as I love and appreciate them it's not the same as having people I actually get to see especially considering my experience with the irl friends made me really nervous to talk to them cause I thought I was being annoying and they wouldn't wanna talk to me too much either.

Last year I got really close to the sister of one of the people I did my afternoon courses of college with and now were best friends and I have some friends at college so I'm doing alot better in that aspect but the thoughts of them leaving still comes back alot. But yeah then in the summer last year my school best friends (the one who stopped messaging oruginally) came into my work and hugged me and was all like "Oh ny god I missed you so much how have u been, we need to hang out" so I was like really happy to see them again cause they seemed so excited to see me I thought I was right and tge reason she stopped talking to me was cause she was stressed. And yeah we got a tad closer and started talking a bit more abs when college started ee started hanging out at lunch on Thursdays and I've been pretty happy with that. But this Thursday we were talking about this and that and some how the conversation turned to me leaving school to homeschooling and she said that she was mad at me for leaving and that it's why she stopped talking to me on purpose. She then said how school was better when I left cause although the classes still sucked she stopped being bullied so i k ow she wasn't mad cays eit meant I wasn't there to defend her ans even if she was I don't think that would be a fair thing to judge me for because I cannot stress enough how tiring it was having to spend all my breaks arguing and defending and how it's the main reason I left.

So I responded saying about how lonely and sad I was ehen none of my friends would talk to me even though they promised they would stay in touch and how many nights I would just sit and cry because I thought there was something wrong with me because why else would everyone leave me?

And all she said was "oh" she didn't say sorry,she didn't look regretful or anything. I said afterwards that I'm mainly fine now and I've got a new best friend that actually talks to me. And even then she just changed the conversation and didn't seem to care how much her actions especially effected me.

I'm sorry to rant and I know this is super long but my college friends know her and I think they would day something to her and I don't want that I just need to get this out. I just don't understand how she's so nonchalant about it and I'm so frustrated that she stopped talking on purpose after telling me multiple times well stay in touch

First of all, there's no need to apologise for the rant, I'd definitely much rather you have somewhere to say it all than keep it contained because you can't tell anyone. It's a tough scenario and I remember school and college especially get even tougher when you're shouldering it alone.

I hope your friend does try to make up for her past mistakes, or at least acknowledge how she hurt you, but I'm glad you've got other friends who you can rely on other than school ones. Mean Girls was right in the fact that people act weirdly during school, even to their friends, but you're close to the age where people start to act a bit better about their actions (though not everyone grows out of it 😬)

Movie review: GOMBURZA

GOMBURZA is a film entry in the 49th Metro Manila Film Festival. This film is directed by Pepe Diokno and bagged major awards during the festival's awards night.

It is a creative story-telling of what transpired during the time of the 3 Martyr Friars during the Spanish period. It is based on historical events in our country but was told in a very creative manner. The actors were composed of new and veteran actors in the film.

The portrayals of the characters were very effective rhat it travels behind the silver screen. Aside from the artistry, the movie was also able to touch the present by relating that through time, history really is repeating itself because of the actions of the people. The pl8ght of the Filipinos remains from the past til the present as justice was still always for thise with power and the poor were alwats the victim of these atrocities. The film is relevant in the present time to remind us the we are nit yet free from oppression whether from the Spaniards or even in our iwn goverbment. This is nit silelt a political film byt a signigicant event in our history that burns the passion and patriotism of our National Heroes to fight for our freedon and e joy the rights we have today.

Aside fro.the cultural relevance of this film, it's technical side was also applauded as tge set transports you to the past as well as tge make-up props and the over-all production of the film.

I would like to commebd the whole team for making a relevant mivie that is very educational andcan be a piece used in school to introduce again the heroic deed that Fr. Mariano Gomez, Fr. Jose Burgos and Fr. Jacinto Zamora did for our co7ntry that fuels the heart of a young Jose Rizal who paved the way to get our Independence.

I would like to send an honorable shout-out to the player known as Dave who actually had a Sandy Shocks they were willing to trade. And of course, to my mother, who was playing Scarlet and whose Koraidon I stole temporarily for PokéDex purposes.

The reality is, I don't really play Pokémon games for 'Dex completion. These things have never appealed that much to me. My general approach to Pokémon has honestly only ever been: play until the main story is over and call it good. As a matter of personal dedication however, I couldn't not try, you know? After all, I did fight through Kitakami's 'Dex: what was a couple hundred more?

I'm proud of myself, even if this isn't something that's too big a deal. Seven year old me never completed the PokéDex in Blue Version- I never finished it in Sapphire, FireRed, Emerald, Diamond, Platinum, SoulSilver, Black, Black 2, X, AlphaSapphire, Moon, UltraMoon, Sword, Let's GO Eevee, Brilliant Diamond, or Legends Arceus.

There it is, every mainline Pokémon game I've ever owned and at no point in any of them, did I complete this one thing. Now I have. A complete Home Dex is never going to happen for me, but as of right now, with Indigo Disk a few short days away, I've got that finished. A year after the game came out.

There's a fan song by Andrew Stein called "This Far" that I'm thinking of now.

It's the bare-minimum of standards for a lot of fans, but when you didn't have friends or other consoles, these things didn't happen. All these features that make it possible though, I appreciate them all and all of those people who happened to send out the exact things I needed in a Surprise Trade. I hope every time they received one of my trades, the ones with the dumb nicknames, they questioned for just a moment "was that a reference to-? was there a joke there?". Did I ever give anyone just tge right thing they needed, at any point?

I hope so. I hope at least one person laughed at my stupid Moon Moon joke that day I started aggressively trading off Rockruffs. Did the recipients of my Iron Thorn barrage find any of my Godzilla jokes funny? Or the Baraskewda who were all named after Finding Nemo references?

I'm not emotional about it because I love this game. I'm emotional about it because ten-years ago, five-years ago, I wouldn't have had the time or the resources to complete a regional PokéDex. I still don't really have the time, but I'm very happy to have one game out of that entire lot where I was able to just finally do it. That diploma is mine, I've earned it. It's dedicated to that young gargoyle I once was, the one who got grounded once from video games because he was too busy playing Pokémon instead of doing his homework, who stripped the posts off of the back of his extremely worn out Platinum version and who knew how to use an Action Replay. He wouldn't have liked me, but he would be impressed with me for this, I know that at least.

I cant say i know of any police force or anything like it that doesn't have corruption. They are all prone to it.

But not all are as bad as in america. There are some places where the police in general are alot more trust worthy, and corruption and horrible people are dealt with better.

So in some places its not nearly as much of an issue because its not so out of control like it is in america. Its not seen as evil to become a police officer, and depending on the circumstances i guess they actually do their job properly and dont causebso much trouble.

Then theres the part where its just fantasy. Alot of people like reading about police actually being good people, whether its for the action and crime solving, or because its nice to pretend and think about how life would be if police were good. Americans take this as some sort of "pro-police propaganda" when all it is, is a fantasy.

Yeah, I'm not denying that some countries have less/handle corruption better than in America. But at the same time, making a blanket statement of "other countries don't have the same pesky problems with corruption" kind of undermines that entire point.

Like, I'm fully aware that other countries have better relationships with the police than in America. That doesn't mean that there are no other countries in which cops are not corrupt or violate human rights besides America. We see this all the time in Britain, France, and Hong Kong with their recent protests. I feel like this is a really boiled down argument of "America has some of the worst known racism in the world!" while other countries are just as racist, it's just that America is, arguably, the most vocal about said racism.

I think, no matter what media you watch, it's going to be colored by your personal experiences. That's a fundamental part of critical thinking when watching shows and discussing them with others. And unfortunately for others, a large (and very vocal) portion of most English-based social media websites are used by Americans, whose experiences are 1) they live in a country where cops regularly abuse their authority and 2) the media in their country depict human rights violations as a good thing, so long as a Good Cop is doing it. Even "fantasy" media in the US about "what if cops were fun and quirky" still has them depicting rights violations as a good thing (ie Brooklyn 99), so USAmericans are primed to watch any media with police involved and have a biased stance (which can be stupid, especially when they apply US-specific laws to non-US shows, that's something even I'm not cool with).

With all of that being said, I don't think that all media ever has to depict things "realistically." You can absolutely watch fun cops shows that indulge in that fantasy of "what if cops were Good, Actually" and separate that from reality. This isn't a perfect 1:1 match here, but I don't watch Tokyo Mew Mew and think Ichigo should sue Ryou and the Mew Project for altering her DNA without her permission, which is a massive violation of her autonomy because... it's a magical girl anime. Similarly, though I talk about RWBY and all the various crimes the main protagonists commit, I defend Ironwood and his military in that show because they actually do stuff right until the writers did a heel turn in V8 in order to make Ironwood look like he's insane and lost his mind. However, those ideas of Cops/Government Being Shitty still exist and can be discussed, though there wouldn't be much to gain from beating a dead horse.

Long, dumb rant aside, I think you can totally watch any country's version of a cop show and have fun with it. You can also complain about others taking media too seriously, so long as you aren't a massive asshole to others about it. My problem with the submitter's points were based on the premise "these things don't happen outside of America" which is just completely untrue, and it derails the entire argument as a result.

#none of this is even touching upon the OTHER point that submitter brought up #about how ''anime doesn't need a more diverse cast because it's appealing to an asian audience'' #which is a point that makes SOME sense but still feels bad and i'm not even going to bother touching it #point is i think the general idea of separating fiction from reality is good #and yes: americans are loud and annoying about what happens in media and it's fine to be fed up with them #it's just that all the examples they brought up were complete shit #and REALLY circumstantial at best/ignorant-sounding at worst

Besides the mods for Tribes 2 that are available on the net are fantastic! I found a complete RPG kit and many vehicles, mech like characters and much more. I learned a lot about the scripting language that was not in the docs. So the 1st thing we did was order a copy of Tribes 2 and proceed to tear it apart. I'm not griping about the docs, but I will take every advantage I can to learn about this engine and how it works. My Artist partner and myself have put 2 years into learning TGE and TGEA and we are just starting to feel comfortable about working with it. Learning an engine as complex as TGE or TGEA and the fact that 99% of the documentation is scattered across this web site, is extremely time consuming. Please remember that Tribes promoted modding and that is one of the reasons it was popular. I didn't copy the code, but I did learn a lot about the old engine core. I will admit it because I did nothing wrong. I'd just love to see us all come together and get our dreams accomplished when it comes to making our dream games and if this could help with the scripting for our games then that'd be one less road block to over come. I myself don't understand a ton when it comes to torque script, but what I do understand actually comes alot from my tribes 2 moding days.

I guess I'd just love to see TGE and TGEA take off more (have you looked at the products >games section of this site? the games are few and far between when compared to the number of people who actually have a license to the engine sadly) and if people new to torque script could use tribes 2 to mess around with to see what changes in script actually do in the game, it'd make the learning curve way easier I think.

exe file in torque you can use -game then name of the folder where your game is and in tribes 2 you would use -mod then name of the folder of your mod (after modifing alittle script in t2) to run your game or mod. A perfect example of t2 relation/relevance to torque is how you can modify a short cut for the. and I think alot of it could relate to our projects now days in TGE and TGEA.

To further my point when modifing tribes 2 back in the day I learned from the t2 community and messing with the script myself how to get some of the weapons to fire differently and how to offset the graphic image differently etc. I just really need to know to what extent we could take it as in are some of the scripts from tribes 2 basically directly the same as we would script them in our game since it is the torque engine. Basically my feelings are that Tribes 2 really shows the torque script in awesome action and if more people could play tribes 2 and then mess with the script there it'd help them get a handle on how they could script for their games in development. Mainly why I'm asking is because I started modifing tribes 2 back in the day when it was a popular game and from playing it I heard about the torque game engine from a friend and that got me interested and 6 years or so later here I am, ugh I'm getting off the point I was trying to make/ask. Anyhow my question is, is it ok to look at the Tribes 2 script to get an idea of how to script things for our games, without crossing any legalities? As in, as long as we don't copy the tribes 2 scripts directly could we look at them to figure out things like how to mount a player to a vehicle. ‘Vienna, 2 minutes out,’ you heard over your ear piece. You were part of the heist, yet your role was to be a random stranger amongst the other hostages. Every detail, every escape plan, every weapon was discussed with you in the room. El Profesor was aware of the risks only one brave hostage could bring, so you were there to keep things cool if things went sideways.

You were also Rio’s girlfriend. You two had been dating since the start of that year, when you met at a convention for technology. When you met you two hit off immediately and had been dating ever since. Little did you know you’d both be asked to do this job, unknowing of the other. But things got a little complicated when Berlin came into the view. You two had had a love affair a couple of years back, but when you parted ways you promised never to talk about it again.

You glanced around and saw your watch counting down the last minute. You were nervous, excited and a little hesitant all at the same time. You wanted to be part of the action, not sit on the floor for six days, but here you were.

When you heard loads of commotion coming towards you, you felt your heartbeat pick up. It was happening. You saw the red suits come into view and you smirked. Guns were held in the air and screams filled the entrance - the alarms loudly ringing in the background. You stepped back a little, wanting to see your boyfriend one last time before you went to the others. You saw one of them approach you and he quickly lifted his mask to kiss you one last time.

‘Promise you’ll be careful?’ you whispered against his lips. He nodded and smiled at you, placing a hand on your cheek.

‘Always, sugar.’

He pulled you away from behind the stairs but not before pulling his mask back on. You saw Berlin burn holes in your head from the side of the stairs. Was he jealous? As you focussed on your role, you trashed in his grip, playing your role as an innocent visitor. He shoved you to all the other hostages and joined Berlin and Tokio. You faked a few tears here and there and tried to mingle with the others. Some of them were crying, some of them were in complete shock and unable to do anything. You felt slightly bad about traumatising them so badly, but you knew the plan and that was to leave without harming anyone.

It was now a couple of hours later and you noticed they had brought out the red suits, boots and masks. Berlin did his intimidating little talk and you all got a suit. You didn’t want to change in front of him, in front of anyone for that matter. The only man you ever wanted to see your body was Rio. You were a tough girl, but changing in front of people always made you anxious. You caught Rio’s eye when he stood on the stairs, but when Berlin moved in your direction you couldn’t help but desert your attention to him. He stopped in front of you, smirk plastered on his face.

‘Change into your suit, woman,’ he dared. You hated that smirk. What you did all those years ago was a mistake and you were contstantly reminded of that night in your sleep.

‘No,’ you stated, ‘Not here.’

‘Oh, we’ve got ourselves a brave girl on board! Hear that everyone?! This one here thinks she can do whatever she pleases.’ He took his gun and pointed it directly to your stomach. Your stare hardened. Who the fuck did this man think he was?

From the corner of your eye, you saw Rio step forward but Denver quickly held him back. He whispered something in his ear and he turned around.

‘Strip. Now.’ Berlin demanded. You knew you had to, that was the worst part. Being the only one of the hostages not wanting to wear a suit and not get shot would definitely get suspicious. You angrily took of your jacket, your jeans and changed into the suit. You felt embarassed, weak and insecure. That was a dick move and he knew it.

He stepped closer to you when you were done and whispered in your ear, ‘That’s the good girl I know. It’s not like I haven’t seen it before, is it?’

You gagged at his words and he quickly disappeared up the stairs. Denver nodded at you and clapped Rio on the back. It had been such a long time since you had felt so vulnerable and for no good reason Berlin kicked you right back to that time. You had to talk to Rio. And quickly.

You were chosen to work in the offices and count the money. Nairobi was the supervisor. It had been more than three days since you had seen Rio and you had to talk to him. When Nairobi passed you, you dropped a wad of cash on the floor and leaned over, catching her attention.

‘I don’t feel good.. Can I please use the restroom?’ you asked her, raising your eyebrows. She nodded and grabbed you by the arm, not before threatening the other women you were working with.

‘I really need to talk to Rio. Please, Nairobi,’ you begged. She quickly nodded and went to get Rio. Pacing back and forth, you anxiously bit your nails. When the door opened, your heart dropped to the floor.

‘What did they do to you?’ you gasped, running towards him. You held his head in your hands as you inspected his face. He had a bruise on his cheek and a black eye. ‘Please tell me who did this to you, Ani.’

He looked at you through his lashes and winced when you stroked your thumb over his bruise. He looked completely broken, bags under his eyes and shrunken posture.

‘It was Berlin, wasn’t it?’ you asked. You didn’t even have to ask, you already knew. That bastard couldn’t let you go, could he? You huffed and pushed passed Rio. ‘Wait here.’

Berlin was eating when you stomped through the door. He didn’t notice you at first, but when you smacked your hand on the table, everyones attention went to you.

‘To what do I owe the pleasure, sweetheart?’ he smuggly asked.

‘You know exactly why. What the fuck were you thinking? Smashing his face in, just because you can’t let something go that happened years ago? How old are you? 10?’ you sneered. ‘If you’re jealous, just say that. But hurting someone else because you can’t talk about your feelings is fucking ridiculous.’

The room fell silent, your speech even silencing Denver. They didn’t know you had met before the heist and especially about your relationship. You saw his tough façade fade as his eyes flickered from your furious face to the sandwich he was eating. He knew it was wrong and he regret it the moment he saw how broken Rio was. The young adult was terrified and it made him realise he had turned into the man he promised not to be anymore.

‘You seriously don’t have anything to say about this?’ you huffed. ‘You haven’t changed a fucking bit, Andrès. Stay the fuck away from me and Rio or you’ll end up just like him.’

When you left, Berlin felt humiliated. Not that you’d called him out like that, but humiliated to have let his anger take over his common sense. You had every right to respond the way you did, he would have done the same for you. Why did he feel so jealous? He was the one who broke things off, not you. He’d thrown you away like many of his other treasures, yet he couldn’t let you go. Rio was way better for you. He treated you like a princess, talked to you about his feelings and could give you a much better life than he could have given you.

‘So, wanna explain what the fuck just happened?’ Denver carefully asked. Berlin cracked his knuckled and took a sharp breath. They weren’t supposed to know and frankly, it was none of their business either. So he shoved his chair back and went looking for the both of you. The least you deserved was an apology.

‘- a dick.. he won’t do it again, I’ll make sure of that,’ he heard you say soflty. Rio hissed when you wiped away a small drop of blood just under his eye and you remorsefully sighed. ‘I’m sorry, I should have told you.’

‘No, I’m the one who should apologise,’ Berlin stated, stepping into the room. He could see Rio flinch and your stare harden. ‘I’m sorry. I let my anger cloud my reality and I snapped. There was a point where I was you Rio and I regret to this day that I let her go. I got jealous because I realised she was everything that I needed and more, but I saw that too late. I was immature and for that I want to apologise.’

Your eyes softened and you thankfully nodded at him. You turned your attention to Rio who held out his hand to Berlin. Berlin took it and shook his hand firmly.

‘Don’t let her go, Rio. She’s too precious for that.’
