Are you still doing headcanons? Could you do one of Jiang Cheng’s favorite ways of both expressing and getting affection? (Love language I guess)

Hmm, I think Jiang Cheng's way of expressing his love is to try and make sure they have everything they need or want. I don't think there's much of a distinction between how he looks after his sect and how he looks after his loved ones. Once you're in with him there's no real way to break from him -- even if you fall out, hurt him, he'll still be unable to cut you from him. If he thinks you don't want him, he'll try to give you that life.

Jiang Cheng doesn't see a benefit in his existence outside of what he can do for people. His concept of relationships is very transactional, so when he feels useless, he feels like the relationship is going to fall apart.

As for what way he likes to get affection ... it's harder to say because I think he struggles in every way to cope with it. However, in many ways I think direct words are the ones that work best on calming the hamster on the wheel that is his rejection sensitivity and fear of being left behind. He never doubted his sister's love, although may have sometimes felt he was not getting enough of her attention. He latched on to WWX's promises more than his actions, he clung to the words and ignored all the warning signs.

The problem is he sucks at being told directly that he is loved, like rolls off a pier and tries to sink into the mud sucks. But it is the one that sticks to him better than anything else.

TL;DR He gives acts of service and receives words of affirmation.
