D&D ONE-SHOT
Tumblr media
It’s a pleasure to announce that one of our lovely voice actors Avalon Willowbloom (she/they) will be running a D&D 5e Feywild one-shot on Saturday to promote our crowdfunding campaign!
The one-shot will be hosed by ESP - Enchanting Sorcery Productions, and will take place on SATURDAY MAY 27TH at 8PM EST!
https://www.twitch.tv/enchantingsorcery
The one-shot will be GM’ed by Avalon Willowbloom (she/they), a voice actor with Tranthologies who also voice acts a bunch with Faustian Nonsense. She likes the scary, silly, and strange most of all.
The players will be:
C.V.V.M. (any neopronouns) is an artist/voice actor for podcasts such as Tranthologies, The Domestic Life of Anthony Todd, and Station Arcadia among others. In qis free time, qi enjoys writing and drawing - and is working on an ever-expanding D&D homebrew world. Ey have been playing D&D and other TTRPGS for 5 or so years.
Shawn Tumbokon-Flowers (he/him) is a VA for various side roles in Tranthologies and larger roles across the [Listless] Network, including Nicky Dixon in The Children of Room 56. Recording out of Chicago, he’s been on many podcasts and even on live radio. He’s a fan of D&D, has been a GM for 6 years, and can’t wait to play for Tranthologies!
Maegan Fellner (she/they/he) is an actor who also sometimes writes, draws, and knits sweaters. Some of their favorite voice acting roles include Vela in Flower/Serpent, from Tranthologies, and Lady Luna in The Knight and the Sorcerer, from Unnamed Anthology Podcast. On stage, Maegan has played Celia in As You Like It, Benedick in Much Ado about Nothing, and Olive Ostrovsky in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. As a huge d&d nerd (and fan of fantasy nature), he's excited to be participating in this one-shot!
Kayla Bell (she/her) is one of the writers for Tranthologies. She usually infects everything she writes and does with horror, but always with a smile on her face.
This one-shot is going to be a whole lot of fun, and we hope you tune in to watch!
But remember, the one-shot is promoting the crowdfunding campaign for our second season, which you can donate to here:  https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/tranthologies-season-2/x/33577128#/

I hear you like obscure podcasts?? have you heard of either or 101.7 ouroboros. perhaps
Omggg PLEASE send me obscure podcasts!! Both of these sound fun!
Re: 101.7 Ouroboros, I have a limited patience for "small quirky town" stories these days... I think it's why I never got into Where the Stars Fell. That's just a personal preference, i know a lot of other people have that burnout for found footage mysteries which I'll never get enough of lol. This one kind of reminds me of The Domestic Life of Anthony Todd!
Re: "Either", I do however adore "People connected by otherworldly means across time and space" hooks! Everyone seems to have a fresh and interesting take it. Midnight Radio, Mirrors, Discovery Park (kind of), Interference, all bangers. I'll have to give this a try.

For a podcast titled The Domestic Life of Anthony Todd, they focus remarkably little on Anthony Todd's domestic life

Hey if you like the weird town vibes of night vale, the energy of good omens, and the *camera pans to giant conspiracy board* of the magnus archives, then may I recommend
The Domestic Life of Anthony Todd!!
This is a new podcast that is just starting season 2 and I love it so much, it's about a novelist who goes to a small town for inspiration for their new book and the weirdness that follows! The creator of this show is LOVELY and their writing is fantastic! Also there are no cis characters which is SO GOOD and there's so much great rep. The story is really really really intriguing and I literally cannot recommend this enough!

podcast rec list
(notes:
-this list is mostly audio dramas, but there’s a couple other things too
-i’m keeping it to more niche things that i don’t typically see in rec lists;so no night vale, magnus archives, critical role, or penumbra recs here, etc. that being said, all those podcasts are very good as well!
-a rec that didn’t make it in: wolf 359! audio drama, finished 2019, very good
-this is being written on july 18, 2020, and the number of episodes i’m noting reflects that; there may be more by the time of reading this)
the domestic life of anthony todd
-audio drama, currently 12 episodes, still running
-the story follows a writer named quill taylor, who’s just moved to a nice town to work on their novel! a very nice town! a very, very, definitely not suspiciously nice town!
-sort of horror, but nothing viscerally uncomfortable and quite a bit lighter than most horror. it’s got the slow buildup that very good horror tends to have, but a nicer atmosphere!
-no one is cis (2 characters, including the protagonist, are explicitly nonbinary)
-very soothing and nice to listen to
-episodes are only 10 minutes long and there’s only 12 at the time of writing (july 18, 2020), so it’s very easy to catch up on!
-second season is going up right now!
rusty quill gaming
-rpg podcast, 161 episodes, still running
-a tabletop rpg podcast! the main campaign is a pathfinder campaign set in a steampunk fantasy version of the real world’s 19th century. it’s dmed by alexander j. newall and stars sasha rackett (human rogue, played by lydia nicholas), hamid saleh haroun al-tahan (halfling sorcerer, played by bryn monroe), bertie macguffingham (human fighter, played by james ross), and zolf smith (dwarf cleric, played by ben meredith)! it’s got a lot of mystery/intrigue, as well as a lot of important themes and Emotions
-this one’s a bit more well known, because it’s made by the same people who do the magnus archives! however, not as many people listen as i think they should
-this is my favorite ttrpg podcast! it’s well paced (something that can be tricky w/ rpg podcasts!), the episodes are fairly short, it’s funny, the character development is super well done, and it’s really well made!
-there’s a lot to catch up on, but they do recap episodes at the end of each season, which make for a great jumping point; as well, a lot of it is specials, where they run oneshots in various systems! (the specials are very good in their own merit- i’d recommend Not Far To Bermuda, 4Thought, or Fiasco)
-currently on their fourth (and last) season
the 12:37
-audio drama, 11 episodes, on hiatus
-the story follows a scientist named nora, who accidentally boarded a time-traveling train! as it goes on, she realizes the crew of the train- primarily wheeler, an eccentric and oddly pleasant man, and val, his daughter and the type to shoot first and ask questions later-  are part of a spy ring who are using their powers to meet various contacts across space and time!
-it’s very queer, and they say the actual words ‘lesbian’ and ‘bisexual’ which is very refreshing- also, mostly centered on female characters, which is nice, and has good takes on mental health issues
-the character dynamics are good and well-written, as are the characters themself
-fast-paced and action-packed, which is done very well and a nice change from how podcasts tend to be!
-quite easy to catch up on- they’re currently on hiatus, and there aren’t that many episodes!
the probably bad podcast
-nonfiction, comedy/improv, 16 episodes, still running
-this one’s a bit of a change from the others i’ve been recommending, as it’s actually a nonfiction podcast! it’s the people from @probablybadrpgideas giving advice and ideas for playing various systems! it’s primarily comedy, but is actually pretty good for GMing advice!
-less to say here, because there’s no story, but i highly recommend it!
the two princes
-audio drama, 14 episodes, on a season break
-set in a fantasy world- about two princes from rival kingdoms (as the title suggests), and their efforts to fulfill a prophecy, save the world, and not fall in love doing it. (spoilers: the last one is quite difficult). also has a very good subplot about the two queens, and their attempts to find the princes!
-the romance is done incredibly well, and plays into the central conflict excellently!
-really easy to catch up on!
-personally, i’d recommend only listening to the first season, as season 2 isn’t my favorite but season 1 is incredible

podcast fans listen up!
ok I haven’t done a podcast rec before but I know some of y’all follow me for my tma shitposting (which I’ve been slacking on recently sorry) SO
if you’re specifically a fan of the found audio/ log entry sort of style of tma or archive 81, or the mundane suburban horror style of pods like dreamboy,,,,
PLEASE listen to The Domestic Life of Anthony Todd
like I said it’s mundane horror (of sorts) crossed with urban fantasy- a slow burn mystery centring around a Very Normal And Fine Town and the protagonist who is recording their diary entries whilst staying there to conduct research for a novel
the episodes are about 10 minutes each, so they’re very easy to get through, and as of right now there’s only 10 so you can blast through pretty quickly (season two is coming 5th of July!!)
it has captivated me so quickly and the vibes are hella good, so if it sounds like your thing please give it a listen!
tl,dr; please listen to this urban fantasy pod it’s amazing!! The Domestic Life of Anthony Todd

Not specifically Good Omens related but close. Podcast fans if you haven't, check out The Domestic Life of Anthony Todd. It was inspired by Good Omens and Welcome to Night Vale. I finally started it and I definitely see the influence of Good Omens. Episodes are fairly short too, under 15 mins.

Now, into a bit more about my love of podcasts:
I’ve been a pretty big podcast fan for around 2 years now, and I initially started listening to D&D podcasts before branching out into more forms of audio fiction. So far, I’ve listened to (roughly in order):
Critical Role S2
The Adventure Zone Balance
The Bright Sessions
Critical Role S1
The Adventure Zone Amnesty
Wolf 359
The Magnus Archives
The Strange Case of Starship Iris
The Penumbra Podcast (both JS and 2C)
The Domestic Life of Anthony Todd
The Far Meridian
CARAVAN
Ars Paradoxica (DNF)
The Adventure Zone Graduation
Old Gods of Appalachia
Stellar Firma
(Currently listening) Alice isn’t Dead
All of these podcasts will likely be getting reviews of their own within the next few days, in addition to me posting a more thourough TBL list, so stay tuned!
