I already said this once in one of my old posts, but I won't stop until my concepts are noticed.

Since I've always found the contrast between Earth 42 and 1610 to be interesting, I think we're missing out a bit by focusing solely on the Miles.

Because - listen to me - a duo of 1610 and 42 Rio would be something incredible. As would their analyses and comparisons.

They're similar, very similar, to the point where Miles couldn't tell the two apart in the beginning until he realized he was in the wrong universe. Because Rio is an adult, and certain traumatic events affect the character and behavior of adults differently than they do teenagers.

But we cannot say that they are the same. Because traumatic events still influence adults.

1610 Rio is actually a healthy and happy person, wife and mother. She has some worries about her son, how he is growing up and the changes in his character and the people he meets along the way.

42Rio, at the same time, is a completely different story. She is a widow and a single mother who is still dealing with the death of her husband and working much more than she should. Because she is the only person left in the family who can earn money at all. She also cares about Miles (for different reasons, yes) because Miles is the only family she has left.

She's just the most tired woman alive.

And I just need them to sit down in the kitchen with tea, discussing their children for the next three hours in the form of a therapy session.

In this essay I will-

I think 95% of the Master's issues and being like ✨that✨ boil down to untreated PTSD and generalized anxiety that just keep feeding off of each other and compounding in a positive feedback loop as time goes on.

They never had much control over their own life, first from Time Lord society just being like ✨that✨(which is more than enough to severely traumatize anyone who spends more than five minutes on Gallifrey tbh) and then on and on what with also being the son of nobility, Theta running away and shattering what little solid future they felt they could see, being resurrected by the Time Lords specifically to fight, the drums, whatever the hell happened after they went back through the Time Lock, just to name what I can think of off the top of my head. The Master has never really had control or security and is always desperately trying to grab hold of it, hence their name. (Because let's be honest, unless that individual is very kinky, the only person who's going to be naming themself 'the Master' is someone who is extremely insecure and is doing everything they can to try and get a sense of control and safety.)

They're deeply traumatized by this constant manipulation and lack of security, and the fact that it never ends nor do they ever get any help for it means that it keeps building off of itself and worsening that feeling of insecurity, leaving them a more and more anxious wreck as time goes on, always feeling like everything is spiraling out of control. The Master is also desperate to live, clinging to life however they have to; going through unfathomable lengths from possession, whatever was going on with Crispy, more possession, chameleon arches, and resurrection just to get one more breath. They want control of their own life and existence, and of course one of the largest parts of that is control of their literal life, ergo control of their death and successfully securing themself from it.

And all of this compiles into a person trying to lay claim to everything they can, trying to conquer all they see to secure the entirety of their surroundings, manipulate everyone to be under their command so that they know exactly what everyone is doing and thinking and there are no unknown variables, and most interestingly of all - push the Doctor into embracing their destructive potential.

Which, at a surface level glance, makes absolutely no sense. Why the hell would someone who is scared simply be virtue of being alive then actively try and push an individual whom they acknowledge as being far more fearsome and powerful than they into a rampage?

Because they feel that it's going to happen anyway, so if they cause it, then that means that they have a little control over it.

But why are they convinced that the Doctor is inevitably going to go on a destructive rampage across the universe?

Because the Master has spent all of their lives scared and spiraling out of control because of it, desperately lashing out at everything around them in an attempt to find security. They're scared, and they've always been scared; so they can't possibly imagine that the Doctor doesn't feel the same way.

Oh the Doctor says it, and they logically acknowledge that the Doctor has different experiences from them, but at a core level they can't really understand it. On a core level the Master can't imagine someone not being as scared as they are and so can't truly reconcile with the fact that the Doctor isn't.

Because if they've always been scared, and can't imagine that anyone else could not feel that way, then it follows suit that they're watching the Doctor like a ticking time bomb just waiting for them to blow, just waiting for the Doctor to start lashing out like they are, because they just can't imagine that that isn't going to happen.

They can't imagine that the Doctor might not need to destroy and lay claim and conquer just to feel some semblance of safety and security, so that means it's going to happen eventually some day, the Doctor is inevitably going to lose control in their eyes.

So if they're the one who pushes the Doctor into it then they get to keep some small fraction of control over the oncoming storm; they get to feel a little bit safer, no matter how paradoxical the feeling, because they were the one who pushed the Doctor to break, as they are convinced is inevitably going to happen, so they had control over it. They had control over this powerful and unknowable variable, so it makes them feel safer; even if the rampaging Doctor turns and kills them, they paradoxically feel safer for it because they had control over it.

So that's why the Master keeps desperately trying to break the Doctor, because they're scared of them, but by pushing their fears into becoming reality then they were the one who controlled when those fears came true; because they just can't imagine that maybe the Doctor won't ever snap, and that maybe their fears won't ever come true, and that maybe all they're running from is bad dreams.

So anyway, in conclusion I think a lot of things would be fixed if someone just gave the Master some space-Xanax and space-therapy; they'd still be a sadistic bastard who gets a kick out of toying with people like a cat with mice, but they'd be a lot better about it thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Magnus: Have they been to other realms? Which one is their favorite and why?

They have gone to all three, but the Devildom will always be their favorite because it's where they met all the people they care about the most ( aka, the cast ) and where they made their best memories. Plus they never felt very connected to the Human World or humans in general and always felt out of place there no matter where they were for both "normal" and "oh-shit-I-was-never-actually-human" reasons.

Magnus: Where do you think they would most likely end up in—heaven or hell?

I fear it's really unlikely that any MC would go to heaven considering that they've bound themselves to the 7 brothers who betrayed God, killed angels left and right during the war and probably did unspeakable things during their lifetime as demons but--- if we're looking outside of the "guilt by association", I'd say they'd still end up in hell for the simple fact that they wouldn't want to go to heaven.

Like, they despise the Celestial Realm and God for giving their loved ones lifelong trauma that they still carry till this day, and even before the exchange program they didn't vibe with religion ( to say the least ) or the idea of a God.

And in my head, no matter how good a person is, if they actively don't want to end up in heaven, they just won't ( because it'd kinda defeat the purpose of being a reward for doing good during your lifetime if the person disliked being there 😭 ).

So I like to think that Magnus would just end up becoming one of those ghosts/spirits "living" in the Devildom, like the ones we see sometimes throughout the game.

Kiva & Agael: How close are they to falling? If they are a fallen angel, what made them fall?

I don't get to talk about them much so I'm excited

As angels, they both had problems with the Celestial Realm's restrictiveness and doubts about God in general, and both got along with the brothers but they were particularly close to Lilith.

In fact, Kiva was in love with her. But she never told Lilith because falling in love was something "for mortals" and angels were reprimanded for having romantic feelings of any kind.

That itself was one of reasons she and her brother ( the only one she told about her feelings to ) questioned their faith, not understanding why love was so wrong and angels were stricly forbidden from feeling it.

And then suddenly it hit the news that Lilith was in love with a mortal AND altered his lifespan to save him. Kiva didn't even have the time to grieve the fact the person she had been in love with for thousands of years had fallen for someone else since it was soon announced that Lilith's sentence was to be deleted from all existence. And hearing that, she and her brother became furious and didn't hesitate to side with the brothers when they found out that they were planning a rebellion.

Kivari & Agael: What is their opinion of Diavolo as a ruler? Have they experienced the reign of any other demon kings? How does Diavolo compare in their opinion?

They have never been in the Devildom when other rulers were on the throne but heard plenty about them in the Celestial Realm. They both think of Diavolo as a "weird guy", but respect and are loyal to him as the future king. He was the first demon in a position of royalty to advocate for peace between realms and work towards a future where demons, angels, and humans saw each other as allies and no longer enemies, which is something they want too, even though they weren't so keen on it at first.

Ok so like. A thought I've had bouncing around in my head for a day or two now is Ruby being very, VERY envious of Sonic, at least when they first meet. Like to the point where she can't look at him directly

Because here they are, looking at a person who also had Dark Gaia Energy forced into his body, who is a beast, who is sick, just like them... but he can hide it

He can feign normalcy. He can hide his monstrosity. She can't. She can't turn back into a normal mobian during the day like he can. She's stuck in her monstrous form and suffers every day because of it. She doesn't get any real normalcy

It's not like Sonic actually has it any better. He's still sick, just like they are. And there are times where his condition becomes obvious, when the sun sets and he forcefully transforms. But it never stopped him from being a hero, from having friends, from being loved by the world, from living the life they wished they could have

And maybe she resented him for it. Just a little
