Here are the diaries I made for work and home in 2022-2023 (Pink with green spine is home diary, red with blue is for work).

Not much different from the original template, though some minor tweaks were made. I believe I added in the Mail Pending page for this iteration of the diary, and lost the WoW tracker page as I had long since stopped playing at that point (although, had newly started FFXIV so, you know 👀).

Trimmed the page edges for both of these with a chisel, so they look nice and smooth. Covers are just scrapbooking paper with a bookcloth spine. The blue for the work diary is bookcloth I got from the NSW bookbinding shop, and the green is DIY bookcloth made from green linen and iron on fusible webbing - it works pretty well as a DIY bookcloth, but isn't quite as sturdy as cloth made with book glue. You can't do any tooling on it either as the surface isn't primed for it.

I definitely recommend devising some sort of bullet journaling system for chronically sick/disabled/Otherwise Often In And Out Of Hospitals And Clinics people. 1) to keep track of all your symptoms and appointments, a medication list, surgical history, and basic vital things you need to inform a medical professional in an urgent situation and you keep forgetting all your conditions or meds or what have you, and b) you get Happy Points by doctors and staff complimenting you for making intakes and other information take-downs easy

All of us should be keeping some sort of medical binder to take with us to hospitals anyway, but bullet journaling is the most flexible for our chaotic lives imo

finally got around to printing a bunch of typesets that I haven’t touched in 5-6 months so I can bind some fic and then realized there were some minor errors (which would, of course, bother me since I noticed them) so spent a bunch of time correcting these minor errors and will have to print again tomorrow, yay 🙃

i've been journaling the past few days and having so much fun now. like. it was rlly hard at first and still kind of is but i'm several pages in by now and i'm just like... this is kind of awesome...

#i think the journal i got helps a lot it's very pleasant to use :3 #got it at michaels the other day on sale hehe #it's green which is awesome. and it's got dotted grid paper #and the paper is decently thick so my pen doesn't bleed through #also it lays flat really well so it's comfortable to write on #and the cover is pretty hard so i don't have to worry too much about finding smth to write on #also it has one of those elastic bands to keep it closed which makes it feel nice AND it has 2 bookmarks. epic #i really hope i'm able to stick with it‚ it's been something i've wanted to do for so long #it's one of my goals for this year and i fell off of it for a couple months but here's hoping i can make it stick this time #it's the third journal i've tried and idk. this one feels right #i think that's important. for me at least #i'm picky when it comes to stationery and things lol #i didn't think to make note of the journal brand unfortunately #but the pen i'm using is of course the pilot g2 size 05 #since i don't need to do any highlighting i have the treat of using this one instead of the zebra mark-on! #not that i dislike the mark-on it's just that i personally prefer both the body of the g2 as well as the shade of ink it comes with #which is darker than the mark-on's #lol. any stationery fans out there. does anyone want to hear me talk about pens and paper #ppleaee #finielspeaks

And last, but not least (at least for now!), are my work and home diaries for 2023-2024. Same template as for previous years, with some tweaks to add or change things to make them work better. Calendar format has not changed. I did forget it is a leap year next year, so my February pages are ever so slightly wonky.

You may notice that there is kind of a theme for both. 👀💦

For my work diary (the one with the shield), I wanted to evoke something of the House Fortemps armour - green faux leather bookcloth for the spine, the slightly metallic scrapbooking paper for the chainmail, the green and yellow marbled paper endsheets and yellow pages for the text block for that general green and gold colour scheme.

Then I decided to go a little crazy with a craft knife and sketched (more or less freehand from reference) and cut out the unicorn design from the shield. Arguably I should have stuck to just the unicorn head, but then I did the whole dang shield anyway.

The home diary is also subtly House Fortemps themed, and because I am well and truly stuck in the blorbo zone, it is also subtly Artoirel themed as well. This was a bit of an afterthought, so the coloured pages of the textblock and the endsheets have no bearing on the overall design, but I went in for similar colours as the work diary (yellow, green and the sort of greyish brown of the cover), went simpler with the unicorn motif, and picked a scrapbooking paper design for the cover that incorporated the music staff in it (because, you know, orchestrions).

What you all dont know is that fountain pens truly are amazing for the lack of effort you have to put in to make lines appear. Hand fatigue? Who is she?? My pen may not write upside down or in space but as long as gravity is on my side I CAN write in my new dot journal.

Wie lege ich ein Bullet Journal an?

Das Notizbuch muss weder dekorativ noch in vorgefertigte Abschnitte eingeteilt sein, da du die Einteilung deines Notizbuches bei einem BuJo selbst machst. Du kannst dein Notizbuch natürlich nach deinen persönlichen Vorlieben auswählen. Wenn du beispielsweise die Farbe Blau liebst, dann investiere in ein Notizbuch mit blauer Akzentfarbe. Dein Notizbuch muss nicht liniert sein. Du kannst ebenso eines mit dem für BuJos beleibten Punktraster, Karos oder Blanko-Seiten nehmen. Die Entscheidung liegt bei dir.

Erstelle ein Index: Du wirst die Seiten deines Bullet Journals nummerieren. Dein Index oder Inhaltsverzeichnis wird dir dabei helfen, den Überblick darüber zu behalten, was sich auf welcher Seite befindet. Die erste leere Doppelseite solltest du für deinen Index reservieren. Um damit anzufangen, schreibe einfach „Index“ oben auf die erste Seite der Doppelseite.

Lege deinen Future Log an: Blättere zur nächsten leeren Seite in deinem Notizbuch. Diese wird deiner langfristigen Planung – deinem Future Log – dienen. Der Future Log ist eine Methode, um einen Gesamtüberblick über die Aufgaben zu erhalten, die du in den nächsten sechs Monaten erledigen musst. Er enthält einen monatlichen Überblick mit den bevorstehenden Veranstaltungen, Aufgaben und Zielen. Beginne, indem du die Punkte (sofern du welche hast) auf der Seite zählst und durch drei teilst (bzw. die Seiten in drei Abschnitte einteilst). Wenn die Seite beispielsweise 24 Linien hat, dann teilst du sie in drei Abschnitte à acht Linien ein

Erstelle deine Monatsübersicht: Blättere zur nächsten leeren Seite in deinem Notizbuch. Diese wird deiner Monatsübersicht dienen. Hier kannst du alle Termine, Aufgaben und Ereignisse für den jeweiligen Monat notieren. Beginne, indem du das Datum und den Wochentag oben auf die Seite schreibst. Zeichne dann eine Tabelle mit genügend Platz für alle Tage des Monats.
