Confession

Pairing: SKZ’s Chan x OC [Genevy] Genre: college!au, slice of life, slight fluff Word Count: 6,385 Summary: Genevy makes a confession, but it’s not a direct one nor was it meant to be real. She just needed to lie to get this other guy off of her back. So she happened to use the name of one of the most sought guys on campus’ to do so who happens to overhear it.

Warning: curse words. slight harassment or persistence. college or relationship related stuff you could say. i think that’s it.

oh, look it’s another SKZ one. yeah, but it’s with the lovely Chan! anyways, this was inspired by the movie Love O2O which I’ve been addicted to since it’s such a cute movie! Plus, I used one of the scene of the movie to help me write this as I’ve been wanting to do something like this, but never knew how to get around to it. and now bam it’s here and i’m quite happy with how it turned out! so yeah, happy reading and kthxbai, Admin Lia~

"What's wrong?"

"Are you okay?"

"Did something happen?"

Genevy heard from her dorm mates, Esther, Jasmine, and Katherine, once she entered the shared room with the other three females after having slammed the door out of being flustered. Genevy had her back pressed against the door while slowly breathing and counting backwards from ten to calm herself down. She didn't really process their words and kinda zoned them out.

"Yo, Vy, you good?" Katherine asked which snapped Genevy back to the present moment and looked at her friends.

"I just indirectly made a false love confession to one of the most sought out guys on campus not that long ago." Genevy explained to her friends once she finally recovered and was able to function again. "And he thanked me for it with a such a sincere tone and face. It was so mind-blowing, but not in the good way."

"Who and why though?" Jasmine asked curiously. "There's like several of them across campus and through the departments. Which department is he from? But then again, you did mentioned that he thanked you sincerely and there isn't a lot of those. Just a few handfuls."

"The one from the Music Department." Genevy clarified. "And my mind is still reeling from the whole ordeal."

"No way!" Esther exclaimed with excitement upon knowing who the person was. "You confessed to the Christopher Bang Chan? Why though?"

Genevy groaned as she made her way to her own bunk and settled onto it before speaking again.

"Remember that one guy, Kim Cheol, of the Journalism Department? Yeah, well it seems that he had fallen completely heads over heels for me after I impressed him with my words and actual logical skills about writing that dumb article about me having a Sugar Daddy a few weeks ago."

"Eww. That guy's so shady though." Katherine commented with a disgusted look. "He didn't even do his own research before publishing that, but he likes you, too. That is way super weird."

"Yeah it's weird and the guy himself. He's such a jerk and thinks you would like him even when he didn't even delete the article after you asked him politely to do so." Jasmine added with a huff. "We had to ask Dabin to use his computer and hacking skills to take it down soon afterwards."

"Which I'm still totally grateful for that Dabin did that and I owe him like a ton of jelly candies and a meal at Subway." Genevy inputted with a smile. "He just needs to hit me up about that."

"But I'm pretty sure he doesn't know that because you never told him." Jasmine remarked as Genevy nodded with a giggle.

"I'ma tell Dabin that." Katherine said while whipping out her phone.

"He's not even gonna remember though." Genevy countered, but a smile was still evident on her face.

"Anyways," Esther interjected, "Let's get back to the real situation at hand. What did Bang Chan do when he heard you confess your love for him?" Esther asked with an excited expression while bringing the topic back on track. "Because I'm curious since you two don't really interact with one another."

"We don't, but we have a mutual friend or two, I think or something like that. It could be more though. I just don't remember who he's friends with since he like knows everybody and what not. However, I do know we have one for sure. Anyways, which reminds me that it was so frickin' embarrassing and it didn't help that two of his friends were with him and heard it, too. Which I might add the one we have a mutual between us was one of those two friends."

"Okay, go on." Esther urged as she wanted the full details about what had happened. "Don't skip out on anything because I want that tea hella spilled."

Genevy let out a sigh before recounting the story that just happened not that long ago.

It was getting closed to ten at night and Genevy had left the Study Room building and was on her way back to the dormitory to turn in for the night. She went to the student parking lot where her bicycle was located and before she could actually walk up to her bike, she was blinded by the headlights of someone's car. Genevy shied away and put up an arm to block out the light while trying to navigate towards the bike rack. Before she could even take a few steps, Genevy heard the sound of the shutter of a camera go off as well as a flash following shortly afterwards.

"Hey, Genevy, sorry. It's just me, Cheol." Cheol introduced himself upon seeing that Genevy was about to run off.

Genevy made a face, but didn't bother to acknowledge him while putting down her arm once she got used to the bright lights. Genevy made a move to quickly walk around him and to her bike, but he stepped into her path. She acknowledged him this time around with a neutral expression and tone.

"What do you want, Kim Cheol?"

Cheol cast her a smile while looking at the time on his watch before speaking.

"It is now nine-twenty-eight-P-M where our love officially starts."

"What are you talking about?" Genevy questioned with a puzzled look. "There's nothing going on between us, Kim Cheol."

"But I've fallen for you since the day you confronted me about that article I wrote about you."

"Um, okay. That's cool and all, but I don't like you and so there's no official love between us that's starting."

"But you could learn to like me and it could officially start once you agree to date me and be my girlfriend." Cheol stated with another smile.

"Yeah, no. I don't really like you at all in that way or in general. Also, I don't want to be your girlfriend, either. So bye."

Genevy took a few steps before Cheol blocked her path again.

"Why don't you like me? Is it because of the article I wrote about you?"

Genevy sighed before giving Cheol a pointed look.

"Mainly yes it's because of the article, but it's because I don't get good vibes from you at all either. Again, goodbye."

"Wait. What good vibes? I really think we would work out, Genevy." Cheol stated with a firm tone. "Just give us some time and you'll see that."

"I'm sorry, but I don't think we would work out." Genevy firmly told him. "We're just not compatible for each other."

"You won't know unless you try." Cheol suggested as he was trying to make Genevy see it from his point of view. "Just one date and I'm sure it'll change your mind."

"I'm sorry, Kim Cheol, but I already like someone." Genevy lied on the spot.

She was getting tired and annoyed with his pestering and she hoped that her facial expression wouldn't give it away.

"Who is this someone that you like?" Cheol asked urgently. "Do I know him? Why him?"

Genevy threw out the first name that came to mind and hope that it went well.

"The one I really like is Chris."

"Who's Chris?"

"Um," Genevy had a slight brain fart before remembering something and went with it, "He's Bang Chan from the Music Department. He also goes by Chris."

She knew she was lying her ass off, but she really wanted this guy to leave her alone. Because honestly, Genevy didn't think this Kim Cheol guy was gonna be quite this persistent or that she would cross paths with him again after a few weeks. Still, Genevy didn't want to get physical with the guy if she could avoid it and if lying was going to do the trick, then so be it and she'll face the consequences of it later down the road. She just hoped it was later than sooner. Then of course, Genevy had know clue that the man himself was present and standing right behind her while hearing her admiration for him.

"I really didn't want to hurt your feelings, Kim Cheol, but I guess you'll be hurt by my words since you really want to know why we can't be together." Genevy said with a feign sad tone before making up her love confession for Bang Chan while staring down at the ground.

"Well, I've liked Bang Chan since our first year and he's the only one my heart is set on even though he and I have never really interacted with one another. And I'm sure we won't even cross paths either since we're also in different departments and have different groups of friends. However, Bang Chan is just a very amazing person with extraordinary talents and probably has someone else that he likes, too. Anyways, that's why you and I can't work out, Kim Cheol, because I don't like you. I really like Bang Chan and I don't think I'll ever get over it until many, and I do mean until many, many years have gone by for me to move on. I'm terribly sorry."

After saying that, Genevy looked towards Cheol with an apologetic look, but he wasn't even looking at her. His attention was towards something or someone behind her and she glanced over her shoulder to see what it was. Her eyes widened in absolute horror upon seeing the Bang Chan she was talking about standing right there behind her. What was worst was that two of his friends were with him and one of those two she actually knew personally. Chan cast Genevy a sincere smile upon hearing the lovely words she had spoken about him.

"Thank you." He thanked her with a sincere smile and slight head nod.

At first Genevy was speechless before rationally quickly kicked in and she slightly nodded in acknowledgement.

"Uh, you're welcome."

Feeling super embarrassed and equally aware of her friend shooting her an amused grinned, Genevy quickly rushed over to her bike. She fumbled with the locks, but was able to get her bike out of the rack and directed away from the quartet. She heard Cheol called out her name, but she ignored him completely while almost falling off of her bike to get away. She quickly recovered and sped off leaving the four males to watch after her. Two were amused. One was curiously amused. The other one extremely upset.

"And now I'm here." Genevy finished while falling backwards onto her bed. "Fuck my life at college now."

Esther threw one of her plush dolls at her as it landed on Genevy's stomach before tumbling off to the side.

"Get over it. He probably won't even remember." Esther stated with a laugh. "Then again, maybe you made a nice impression and Bang Chan won't forget."

Genevy groaned in response.

"But you gotta admit, Genevy, that's kinda cute." Katherine admitted with a chuckle. "Like something out of a scene in a drama or movie."

"Yeah, right. I made a false love confession to a guy I don't really know, but is one of the most sought guys on campus all because I wanted to avoid another guy that likes me only because I stood up for myself for what he wrongly accused me of. This is not cute at all and I do not need stuff like these in my life."

"Still though, if you think about it more and more I think it'll make a great story to tell your future kids how the two of you met." Jasmine mused as Genevy lifted her head to glare at her friend. "That's not funny at all, Jas."

The other two started to tease her and Genevy just glared at them while getting off of her bed with a huff.

"I'm gonna wash up and hope y'all are asleep by the time I get back."

The trio ignored her words and teased her even more until she actually left the room.

Several days passed and Genevy had totally forgotten about her little encounter with Chan. At the moment she was at the park not that far from the school's campus where she was too busy taking photos of her friends' pets for one of her photography assignments.

"Alright, Ghana and Bori, you're all done!" Genevy cooed at the poodles who quickly rushed over her to yapped around her ankles.

Genevy chuckled as she slightly bent down to give each poodle a few scratches behind their ears. Her two friends, Changmin and Younghoon, walked up towards her to fetch their pets upon hearing Genevy dismissing the dogs. Genevy stood up right to greet her friends with a refreshing smile.

"Thank you so much for lending them to me for an hour or so for homework." Genevy thanked her two male friends as their poodles, Ghana and Bori, respectively ran towards their owners once the duo near.

"It's all good, Genevy." Younghoon replied as he picked up the white poodle. "I just can't wait to see the pictures you took of Bori once it's finished."

"Me, too." Changmin agreed as he lifted up the brown poodle. "You're a model now, Ghana. Genevy is gonna make you famous."

"Highly doubtful, Changmin, but I do have to admit that they both were such great sports. I barely had any trouble with them. They were so adorable to work with and were totally unlike others pets and animals I've worked with." Genevy informed with a laugh. "Humans included."

"Hmm, maybe you should have majored in photography instead of social services." Younghoon remarked with a smile as Genevy shrugged indifferently.

"I could, but I like taking photos as a hobby instead of using it as work. Maybe in the future. Shall see."

"Either way, Genevy, you'll do well in whatever you choose to do." Changmin said before looking at the time on his wrist. "Anyways, we gotta get going. We'll see you again at Eric's birthday party next week before exams week."

"If I don't have to cram for last minute assignments first."

"Well, just make sure Eric knows because he gets sulky when you and the other three bail on him because of that." Younghoon advised.

"Yeah, yeah, I'll try, but goodbye. See you when I see you."

They bid their goodbyes leaving Genevy to pack up her things. Before she did, Genevy scanned the park to see if she could take any random moments that she could use in the future. Lifting the camera to peer through, Genevy clicked a few times upon catching some sights she enjoyed. She took one of the slightly afternoon cloudy sky with the sun partially being obscured. Another of a cute family of five having a picnic off in the distance. Some other ones were just random shots of her surrounding like transport, buildings, and other people moving out and about on this particular day.

"Hmm, I think that should be okay." Genevy muttered to herself while clicking through the images becoming satisfied with her work.

Genevy began packing up her gear and other things. Once she was done she made her way to the bike racks to retrieve her bicycle. Genevy placed her bags into the basket by the handlebars before removing the locks so she could leave. What she wasn't expecting was for Cheol to suddenly appeared out of nowhere besides her with his own bike like he was waiting for her all this time to leave together.

"Hi, Genevy. Fancy meeting you here." Cheol greeted her with a welcoming smile. "Are you headed back to campus? I'll ride with you."

"No, thank you. I'm fine." Genevy declined while backing out her bike from the rack and moving it in the opposite direction of the campus as she lifted up a hand to give the male a half-wave to indicate that their conversation was done.

Genevy swung a leg over her bike and was about to take off, but Cheol blocked her path.

"I know you said you like Banchan or whatever the last time we spoke, but that doesn't mean we couldn't be friends, right?" Cheol suggested with a friendly smile. "I mean, friendships, especially with the feelings, can always develop into something more later on down the road. Yeah?"

"His name is Bang Chan, not Banchan. Also, I don't really want to be your friend, Kim Cheol." Genevy declined once again as she maneuvered her bike around the male and was about to take off once again, but Cheol reached a hand out to take a hold of one of the ends of her bike's handlebars preventing her from leaving again.

Genevy let out a sigh before speaking.

"I really wish you would leave me alone, Kim Cheol, because this is starting to become harassment."

Cheol instantly let go of her handlebar, but quickly spoke to defend himself.

"I'm just trying to look out for your best interest at heart, Genevy. You almost collided with that bus that was about to come."

"Yeah, okay, not when it just stop at that bus stop not that long ago." Genevy remarked with a roll of her eyes becoming even more annoyed with the male. "That was totally a lie and you're definitely not looking out for my best interest at heart, either. All you really care for and wanna do is to just date me because I'm different from the other girls you've probably interacted with before."

"No, that's not true. I really do like you, Genevy."

"You know nothing about me. We've never interacted. We have no mutual friends among us. So like, how can you even like me like that?"

"If you would give me a chance, then I could learn about a lot of things concerning you. I don't need a reason to love you, Genevy."

"In a way, yeah you do need a reason in the sense of what you're getting into, Kim Cheol. Also, yeah, no about the whole giving you a chance to learn things about me. For some reason that just sounds weird and not sincere at all coming from you. Anyways, goodbye and I hope we don't run into each other again."

Genevy was about to take off for a third time, but Cheol reached out and took a hold of her bike again. Genevy cast him an annoyed look, but she noticed that Cheol's happy demeanor from earlier was gone and he now looked pissed off.

"You're really testing my patience, Genevy." Cheol said in a dark tone as his gaze bored in to hers. "I confessed my feelings for you several times and yet you just brushed me off like I'm invisible and just a nuisance to you. I don't appreciate it one bit."

Genevy edged away not liking the dark vibes that Cheol was emitting, but this alerted Cheol in her movements and he pulled her bike towards him causing Genevy to jerk forward. Genevy became slightly fearful of the male as she knew the familiar feelings of panicking was about to come up, but she forced herself to stay calm and in control. She had to and hope she would be able to present that.

"If you don't let go of my bike or leave me alone, Kim Cheol, then I will call the police and report you for harassment."

"I like to see you try, Genevy. I know some people in high places that could help me out with that."

"Don't threaten me with that bullshit, Kim Cheol. I'm not gonna date you because you try to instill fear into me."

Cheol sneered before casting her a mocking smile. "Should I blackmail you instead?"

Before Genevy could respond there was a sudden sound that cause the duo to looked at the new source that interrupted them and had crashed their skateboard into the back wheel of Cheol's bike. Genevy recognized the two males, but she kept quiet not wanting to involve her friends just in case Cheol got carried away and tried to do something.

"Hi. Are we interrupting anything?" One of the two males said as one of them came up to retrieve his skateboard while letting his eyes linger on Genevy worriedly.

"Yes, you are. I'm having a talk with my girlfriend and it would be great if you could leave us alone." Cheol answered with a feign smile as he controlled the tone of his voice as to appeared like he wasn't just about to be silently hostile a moment ago.

"Girlfriend?" The other male questioned as he walked closer to the trio while standing beside his friend and repeated his puzzlement. "She's your girlfriend?"

Before Genevy could deny that she wasn't Cheol's girlfriend, Cheol beat her to it as he was super adamant about the lie and continued to go with it.

"Of course she's my girlfriend. What? We don't look like a couple?"

"Hardly." The first male replied with a chuckle. "You're not a perfect fit. So you don't look like a couple at all."

"Yeah." The second male agreed with a laugh. "The last time I checked, Genevy was the girlfriend of Bang Chan and not you."

Before Genevy could clarified that she wasn't even Chan's girlfriend, Cheol whipped his head towards her and moved the hand from her handlebars to grab at her wrist.

"You're actually Banchan's girlfriend? Since when? That's a lie. You're lying. You're not his girlfriend, right? Please tell me that's a lie, yeah? When did you agree to have a boyfriend without letting me know?" Cheol fired questions at her as he couldn't believe what he had heard coming out of the other two males' mouths.

Genevy wanted to denied the claims of being Chan's girlfriend, but then she thought about it for a quick few seconds. If she went with it, then it was easier to do so since Chan wasn't even around to tell Cheol if it was right or not. Plus, her two friends that were currently present, Eric and Felix, had created the whole thing for her to help her out. So in a way, Genevy thought she might as well go with it and not let it be exposed like that in vain. Honestly, Genevy also really didn't want Cheol to bother her ever again and if lying about Chan being her boyfriend was gonna do it, then so be it. She'll deal with the consequences later.

"Yes, Cheol. Chan is my boyfriend." Genevy confirmed with a slight sigh and a head nod. "I just didn't want to hurt your feelings again since you seemed to like me a whole lot and were quite persistent in pursuing me."

Genevy tried so hard to not make a disgusted face as she spoke those words, but she reminded herself that she really needed to do it. She had to be convincing to be able to get Cheol to understand she didn't like him and didn't even want to be around him. She hoped it would work and he'll leave her alone.

"We've confirmed our relationship just a few days ago. It was just announced to our group of friends. No one else outside that knows. I'm sorry, Cheol."

Cheol shook his head in disbelief upon hearing Genevy's words.

"No. No way. No fucking way is that true. You're lying. You're not dating, Banchan. You're not a real couple. It's a fake and a lie. You're just saying that to make me leave you alone. Why can't you just give me a chance, Genevy? We can work it out between us. I know that we can. You and I are meant to be, Genevy. Please. Give me a chance. I can make you way more happy than that Banchan guy."

Cheol sprouted out sentences in urgency has his gripped on Genevy's wrist tightened with each sentence and she winced each time he spoke them. She tried to pull her arm from out of his grasp, but Cheol firmly held onto her arm with more power than she had. He continued to try and convince Genevy that he was perfect for her and not Chan. Genevy couldn't form any words as she was too focused on trying to get her grip from out of Cheol's grasp. Her friends were unsure in what to do as they didn't want to suddenly jump in and try to interfere in case Cheol got aggressive and actually hurt Genevy further in the process. Fortunately for them, someone else intervened so that the duo didn't have to.

"Excuse me," A voice interrupted the four and their attention suddenly turned towards Chan who unexpectedly stood near Genevy, "I would appreciate it if you could let go my girlfriend's arm. You're hurting her and she's kind enough to not get physical with you to release her by force."

Felix and Eric seemed quite impressed with Chan's words while Genevy was freaking out on why he was even here in the first place and if he heard her lies once again. Cheol immediately let go of Genevy's arm and she quickly brought it to her chest while using her other hand to massage the injured area.

"Thank you." Chan thanked the male with a firm smile as his dark eyes quickly sized up Cheol. "I would also appreciate it if you could leave Genevy alone from here on out as she has expressed to you countless of times that she wished for you to leave her alone. If not, then I would personally be the one to make a police report for your continual harassment on her part."

"She's just a sugar baby, anyways." Cheol sneered while shooting Genevy a disgusted look before gazing back at Chan. "She'll leave you for another sugar daddy at the end, anyways. If I was you, then I would watch out for her."

"That's a lie!" Eric exclaimed. "You take that back! Genevy is the nicest person in the whole world unless you fuck with her and she turns into a fuckin' badass bitch."

"Yeah! What he said." Felix agreed with a nod. "Genevy's too good for you, anyways, so stop being a hater and just leave her and everyone else she knows alone."

"Well, thanks for the advice, but luckily you're not me and I'm not you, so I'll take my chances with Genevy." Chan thanked Cheol with a smile.

"Whatever." Cheol said as he instantly gave up upon being confronted by Chan. "Your misery." Cheol sneered once again as he maneuvered his bike around Genevy and took off in the direction he was headed to in the beginning.

Once he left did Genevy let out a relieved breath. She didn't realize she was holding it in and it felt so good to be relax and not at all tense just a second ago. Genevy just hoped she wouldn't be seeing him from now on. Genevy glanced at Chan and saw that he was already looking at her with a comforting gaze. She grew shy, but mustered up the courage to smile at him and talk.

"Thank you." Genevy thanked him. "I'm sorry you got involved like this, but I really appreciate the help to get Kim Cheol off my back."

"Oh, no trouble at all." Chan dismissed the whole ordeal casually. "I was glad to help you out."

"Thinking about that now," Felix recalled, "Where did you come from?"

"Oh, I was just sitting over there at that bench to relax and get some ideas for a couple of new songs I wanna produce soon." Chan explained while pointing to the said park bench that was not that far away. "I've been there almost three hours now and had come up with some great stuff."

Genevy inwardly groaned upon having passed by him absentmindedly without even noticing and that he probably heard and witnessed the whole exchange between her and Cheol since the beginning.

"Oh okay. That explains it all."

"Anyways," Eric interjected, "We're going to meet up with Esther and Minho right now at the pet cafe."

"Oh yeah, right we are." Felix inputted right after. "We're a bit late because of that one guy that we saw bothering you, Genevy."

"Yeah, sorry that you guys had to witness that, and forget about that guy. He's totally not important." Genevy dismissed, but remembered something. "Wait a minute. Doesn't your friend Minho have pet cats or something like that?"

Genevy recalled a conversation she had with Felix about Minho's pets and wanted to know if he would allow her to take pictures of his cats for her assignment.

"Yeah. They're with him right now at the pet cafe."

"But, why is Esther with him, too? They don't know each other. Do they?" Genevy asked confused.

Eric shot Genevy a weird look before answering her. "Um, it's because they're on a date, Genevy. Minho's introducing her to his three cats."

"Wait. Esther and Minho are dating?"

"Yeah. They've been dating for about several weeks now. You didn't know? Esther didn't tell you?"

"No, I didn't know and no, she didn't tell me."

"Hey, it's kinda like how Chan didn't know you like him and that you guys were boyfriend and girlfriend." Felix mused.

Genevy shot the male a look, but side-glanced Chan out of slight embarrassment who just smiled at her sweetly. She returned her attention onto the other two.

"How did you guys even know about that? Only Esther, Jasmine, Katherine, and Changbin knew that. Oh, and the other guy with Chan that night. Jisung, I think."

Almost like an afterthought, Genevy remembered Chan who was present now was also present at that time, too.

"Ah, and Chan himself was there, too. Maybe he mentioned something, yeah?"

Chan chuckled while answering. "I didn't say anything."

"Oh, okay then."

"Oh well, Changbin told us about the whole confession incident which sounded really cute, by the way." Felix explained with a teasing smile. "And then Katherine told him about the boyfriend aspect and he told us about that later."

"Why would Katherine tell Changbin that? That's weird."

It was Eric's turned to shoot her a puzzled look.

"You didn't know that those two are dating, too?"

"No."

"How could you not know? They've been dating for a few months now."

"Seriously, Eric, I honestly don't know anything about any of my friends' love life, okay. That's usually private shit, alright."

She then shot the duo a pointed look.

"Which reminds me, y'all should mind your own business about my love life, too."

"But we were just trying to help you out." They chimed.

"Thanks, but it's all good now."

"Fine then. Be that way. We'll just let you enjoy your time with your boyfriend, Genevy. Felix and I will just continued to the pet cafe without y'all." Eric told her as he and Felix both walked off leaving her behind with Chan while the two loudly giggled to just teased Genevy even more.

"You're so annoying! I won't buy the both of you anymore cheese sticks and ramen after this!" Genevy yelled after them, but that only caused the duo to laugh louder and teased her further before completely disappearing around the corner shortly afterwards.

Genevy wanted to scream out loud at the consequences of lying in the first place now that she was in her current situation. She slowly turned her head to face Chan and saw that he was already looking at her sweetly. She shot him a small smile out of nervousness while climbing off of her bike so that she could stand beside it and have a small barrier between her and Chan. What was she going to do now because she totally blanked out when her eyes met his a few seconds ago. She knew she had something in mind, but why did it have to leave at that moment. Chan spoke first.

"I know that this may be awkward, but do you mind if I ask you out for coffee or something?"

"What? Why?"

Genevy realized that her words may sound different to him than to herself.

"I mean, um, no, honestly, I do mean why, I just, well, I just don't get why you would ask me that."

She stumbled upon her words and hoped that she didn't sound like a dumbo. Chan chuckled at her flustered behavior before smiling at her warmly.

"Well, it's because we could get to know one another better. I mean, I have a confession to make."

Genevy's eyes widened not sure what kind of confession Chan was about to profess.

"I've heard a lot of stories about you from Changbin and Felix. Also Eric, Younghoon, Changmin, and the others who I assumed you may be friends with, too."

"Wait a minute. They talk about me? What kind of stories they be telling you about me in the first place?" She gasped in horror at what any of those things could be. "Those jerks. Wait, so that would mean that you actually knew of me already before that whole Kim Cheol thing that night, right?"

"Um, more or less you could say that. I just didn't know about your feelings for me. That one was new."

"Okay, confession from me too. My feelings for you were all false as I wanted Cheol to leave me alone and not hassle me. Another confession. It's just like how I told him that you were my boyfriend, but you're not either."

"Well, both confessions aren't bad. Meaning you could eventually have feelings for me later and I could be your boyfriend, couldn't I?" Chan mused.

Genevy cast him a suspicious look.

"Oh, please don't tell me that you're gonna be like Cheol, too?"

"I'm nothing like that Cheol guy. I at least remember people's names. He called me Banchan more than once when it's Bang Chan."

"Oh thank goodness. Because I thought I would have to make a police report about you harassing me even though everyone on campus may hate me."

Chan chuckled at her words finding them totally unexpected as he had never heard anyone telling him that.

"Luckily, I'm not. Besides, after both encounters you've had with Cheol becoming quite intense, I think you deserve to be treated out."

"Well, I like boba more than I like coffee, so I don't think your treat will do me any good, anyways."

"True, I said coffee although I’m not a coffee person myself, but I also did say 'or something', too. So we can do boba if you preferred to do that instead." Chan reminded Genevy with a sincere look.

"Why do I have a feeling like that I won't be able to escape you, too?" Genevy let out with a soft and defeated sigh.

Chan laughed.

"Why do you make it sound like it's a bad thing, Genevy?"

"I mean, to be honestly, after all that stuff with Cheol, I'm a little hesitant."

"Okay, I can accept that."

"But it's not like a bad thing, either, but it feels like we'll run into each other often now despite how everything happened. Also considering I now know that we have way more mutual friends in common than I had originally thought, too. We'll definitely be seeing each other a lot more than before."

"How about this, Genevy, let's just enjoy our boba today and see how it goes?"

"Just boba?"

"We can get something else, too, afterwards, if you like."

"No, Chan, that's not what I meant. I meant just us getting boba and nothing else coming out of it or whatever."

"If you want, Genevy."

Genevy let out another defeated sigh before speaking.

"You're really not making this any easier for me, Chan, and I know I'll be teased by the other three later once they get wind of this."

"Well, think of it this way, Genevy," Chan began with a thoughtful expression, "If we hang out more and actually have some type of friendly acknowledgment towards one another, then it'll look more convincing that Cheol will seriously not bother you ever again."

Genevy actually pondered on Chan's words before nodding in agreement.

"Okay, Chan. Call. We hang out, become friends, and Cheol is off of my back forever."

"That's the way to go."

"Oh, but first."

"Hmm?"

"I'll treat you to boba after all the help you've done for me and you don't have to pay for anything."

"Hmm, no."

"What? Why not?"

"It's my treat, Genevy, so you don't pay for anything."

"You know what. We'll just let the person decide."

"Sure, but I'll make sure they'll take mine in the end."

"Not if I do it first."

"Genevy, just allow me to treat you and you can just chill."

"No. If not, then I'll just find another way to repay for your kindness."

"How?"

"I dunno, bake you a cake or something." Genevy random suggested without actually thinking about it.

"Okay, call." Chan happily agreed to it automatically. "I'll pay for boba and you make me a cake in return."

"Seriously?"

"Yeah."

"Okay, fine. Let's just go."

"Alright, awesome." Chan said with excitement. "I can't wait to see what kind of cake you'll make me."

"Me either." Genevy mumbled the last part, but a small smile tugged at the corner of her lips.

The two started walking as they continued conversing with one another.

"By the way, I have a pet King Charles Spaniel named Berry. Maybe you can take some photos of her for your homework assignments." Chan offered casually.

Genevy cast him a weird look.

"Boba and cake is one thing, but you're kinda freaking me out with how much you know about me so far."

"Do you not want to meet her? She's so adorable and lovable."

"Well, with a name like Berry and being a Spaniel, I wouldn't doubt it, but let's just start with boba, then cake, and maybe we'll see about me meeting Berry."

"Fine by me." Chan agreed with a charming smile and Genevy knew that the feelings she was getting from Chan were good vibes.

She wasn't sure how to feel, but it was totally different with Cheol. For the time being, she was just gonna go with the flow. While wheeling her bike and somewhere in the process she and Chan walked alongside one another without the bike in-between them towards their destination

Okay so, I believe that Minseok would be very soft about this but also a little bit of a smug/tease. Like especially if you're being shy about it when you tell him. He'd tease you a little and jokingly ask questions like "If you like me- you must find me extremely handsome and attractive, am I right?". But he'd also be very sweet about it and return your feelings. Would probably lowkey squirm as well if you were blushing a lot and he'd probably make a lot of cute comments, like telling you that he find you super adorable and stuff hehe. If you happened to be a rookie under SM, he'd throw you cute smiles and wave at you if you guys pass by each other and stuff.

♡ Junmyeon

A complete sweetheart. He'd find you absolutely adorable and would gladly accept your feelings. He would probably be a tiny bit emabarrassed if you were the one confessing, I don’t know why I just feel like it would make him kinda shy at first but he wouldn’t have a problem with it at all. If he saw you being nervous, embarrassed or shy about it and stuff like that he would hold himself back from being a slight smug and tease you, and instead he would pretty much just reassure you that he felt the same and simply tell you that he found you cute and stuff like that.

♡ Yixing

Shy and embarrased. So pretty much he’d been crushing on you for some time, but he must’ve somewhat missed out about your shy actions around him and the way you looked at him because when you told him about your feelings he was kind of taken a back. Though, it was a relief for him but he’d be embarrassed just because he wasn’t ready for it like?? Such a cute and amazing human being like you has a crush on him?? Of course he’s embarrassed and lowkey shy haha. But of course he would tell you he felt the same. ^^ Let’s say that you’re the dancer in the group, and once he sees you and your group perform (after confessing and stuff) his smile would be all UWU and he’d pretty much smile the whole time.

Okay so let me tell you- Baekhyun would be a frickin’ tease, yet such a little cutie oh my god. You would tell him about how you feel and stuff and his lips would curl up into a lil playful smirk because he knew this all the time huehuhe. He also had feelings for you for pretty long, he just didn’t tell you because he lowkey wanted to see how long you would “last” hahah. Like, he noticed your behaviour around him and how it lowkey changed, and as he noticed how you blushed more and more around him and stuff he’d know exactly what it meant. Don’t ask me how, he just do. Similiar to Minseok he would probably ask you a few cheeky questions like “you finally couldn’t resist me, huh?” or tell you something like “oh yes yes I know, I’m just irresistible, who wouldn’t fall for me am I right??”. But he would find you absolutely adorable with your flushed cheeks and shy actions, also when you kinda squirmed because of his teasing. But over all- he would gladly return your feelings! Probably wouldn’t mind you being a rookie at all either. And if you were under SM as well, you should prepare yourself for a bunch of cute smiles and even some cheeky winks hahah, he’s so adorable. uwu (sorry, i got kind of carried away with this but he’s my bias so i can’t help myself jafaskld).

A shy boy, yet he’d feel extremely happy about your feelings towards him because they were kind of the same to him but for you instead hahah. Still, I feel like he would be a little tease just like Baek and make a comment or two about your pink cheeks and ask if it was because of him, even though he obviously knew the answer like, “ahh Y/N, you’re blushing because of me aren’t you? Okay so this puppy here would be a blushing mess ahhh. Even before you confessed he was already being shy around you and stuff because he got a crush on you as well. So when you told him about your feelings and stuff he’d be extremely happy because 1. his crush on you wasn’t one-sided and 2. you’re so cute and kind and being loved by someone like you was just a blessing to him??? Okay so this little baby would be pretty shy about it. 2. Your least favorite boy? i don’t dislike any of them?? oh wait I guess heavens counts nowadays huh. Eiichi. Not sorry. Miss me with him. I’ll take Nagi over him and I don’t even like Nagi either but at least he realizes his mistake sooner and tries to fix it instead of having to get shoved at and told that he’s a manipulative prick.

3. A character that you never thought you would love as much as you do now? hmmm... all of the 11? Maybe Reiji, but that’s like mostly attributed to @dekiaibadchoices! I love seeing how happy he makes her. :D

4. A character you can relate to in any way? goSH. I’m actually.. .not sure... I mean I do relate to otoya and how much he loves fun and brightening up people’s days, but i’m not nearly as... good at it? as on top of it?

5. A character that you think deserves more love? Is Natsuki or Syo popular by themselves or only in a pair? Because, individually, they both do. And Yamato and Van are a lot better in mlk, but i don’t know if there’s any material between s4 and mlk, because i would LOVE to see yamato’s character arc/progression from his “tch” to “AND YOU’RE AWESOME, AND YOU! Every time that slow build.... and I’m not a crier and laughed at all the other girls in the audience that did. BUT NOW I’M THE ONE THAT’S CRYING AND GETTING EMOTIONAL.

Your least favorite song? ugh... the first heaven’s song? esp when they were three but even after 7 it just. sounds bland. but i’m supposed to believe that it’s THIS EPIC THRILLING HIT??? like kids sit down and listen to QN’s two songs from the movies then come back and tell me what a thrilling epic song in your repertoire looks like.

i just don’t really like most of heavens and i’m also really mad that their two songs in the movie were so damnably catchy. fuck them.

Really fun. Love it. Would have loved him more from the start if they showed this evolution in the season.

I don’t really follow them tbh and I’ve only seen Otoya’s, Tokiya’s and Syo’s content, and it’s a tie between mamoru and shimono

How did you get into Utapri? klab advertized shining live in llsif as a text notice or something? or maybe just on the en twitter??? anyways my friends and I looked, I was the only one who could get it to play on their phone, and i KNEW otoya would instantly become my fave bc he sounded so much like my best girl rin, and WOW. GUESS WHAT. I WAS RIGHT!!!! who knew.

29. A set theme in shining live that you want to see in the future? fuck i forgot it but there WAS a set that’s in llsif that’s not in sl that i was like “this would be so great to see one for the utapri boys”

30. Why do you love your best boy?

*cracks knuckles* OKAY EVERYONE GET READY I CAN ACTUALLY WORDS WHEN IT COMES TO MY KIDS OKAY

so. first off, rin is my best llsif girl and they run a LOT of similarities in character profile alone. they’re both happy people who have a lot of energy and smile a lot and are always beaming happiness and I just REALLY love the sunshine kid trope okay?

now, for otoya specifically, i LOVE that it’s totally canon that his smile is like sunlight on a cloudy day, that he’s just this. super sweet and earnest, endearing kid who will help people when he can, however he can, if they ask or don’t that doesn’t really matter, so long as he is allowed to help then he’s gonna do his best at helping!!! He works REALLY HARD!! he cares people. a lot. so much. big heart!!!! biggest heart in all of starish if i do say so myself. maybe in all of utapri boys. he’s just so. caring!!! and good!! I DARE you to find and tell me something bad about my son. I DARE YOU. it’ll be a waste of time because you WON’T find anything.

and oh my gosh his reactions in the anime are a GOLDMINE, TREASURE TROVE of reaction images. i can have a whole ass platter of every emotion under the son and i hate that sometimes thanks eiichi. he’s just. so funny sometimes and it’s adorable and precious and he’s just so pure and good and sweet and kind and caring...!

he also!! back to the working hard thing!! He works hard bc he came from humble roots. I don’t know much about the VNs so all of my knowledge is from the anime and shining live, but like, orphan?? who works hard to learn how to write songs and play the guitar? and then still comes back to the orphanage he grew up at to volunteer and help there after he debuts??? like. i love this boy. he is so sweet and willing to give back and HE IS SO PRECIOUS?????? im. good kid.

and!!! i hate bringing up this shithole writing of an episode. it can use SO MANY IMPROVEMENTS but so can all of s4 in geneneral hahahahahah BUT ANYWAYS!

he re-experiences trauma that he had amnesia of? no thanks to some certain megane asshole. and, through poorly structured writing, he learns to move on from his pain and learns how to smile again? Like. baby. sweetie. precious son. you did not deserve that, it was a horrible Break the Cutie moment that did NOT need to happen like that, and you deserved better resolution than what you got.

but the point of it is! he learns how to smile again through his pain. that doesn’t quite make it sound right in the way that is inspiring, but like. he... has his own battle with depression and grief and pain and loss of innocence/childhood, and he still manages to retain a childish manner and happiness and spark, and smiles through that, and he smiles because he wants others to be happy and not suffer the same pain.

How do I decide what story to write if I have upwards of ten ideas, all in roughly the same stage of development, that I am equally excited about? Every resource I've found or person I've asked has suggested methods that I can't use, either because I have too many ideas or because there aren't any that I'm more excited about or ready to start writing yet. What can I do to narrow down my options? This is especially difficult for me because I've always struggled for ideas and now I have so many.

Hi anon! Thank you for your patience as I was delayed a couple days from answering you. Honestly that’s a great problem to have, because whatever you choose, you’ll have multiple backup options in case one doesn’t work out or you need a break. And I mean… 10+ ideas. Personally, it’s hard for me to come up with one idea of what to write. That’s frickin’ amazing.

But if you feel that all these 10+ ideas are equally exciting and planned, that does make it a more difficult choice. Still, those are only two aspects to a good story idea; there are many more things to consider before your plot bunny becomes The One Story To Rule Them All…

1. Emotional Connection

The strongest source of continual inspiration throughout the first draft is your emotional connection – to the characters, the plot, and the themes of the story. Think about which of your story ideas will interest you in the near future. Think about your future. For example, I’m a few months away from adulthood, graduation, and then college. So this year, I plan to write an adventure novel filled with characters who are filled with fear, of being unsafe, of running out of food and supplies, of losing their way through these hugeass woods. I’m channeling my real emotions into these characters, which makes the story more believable and also gives me an emotional outlet. SO BASICALLY: think about what you’re experiencing right now or in the near future, and find the story that connects to you most.

2. Plot Thickness

You’ve stated that your story ideas are all in the same stage of development, but even so, they will differ in plot thickness. Some stories will be heavily character-driven, and some plot-driven – that’s fine. But some of these ideas are likely excitement-driven. You may have one story that’s set in this magnificent world, with all these deep and interesting characters… but the only plot is that they meet and all start falling in love, or they all have to survive the apocalypse, or something like that. It’s a general idea, but not a developed plot with an arc and a theme. So narrow down your options to the most developed, most thicc 👀👌 plots and you’re doing yourself a favor.

3. Characters

And I mean simply: look for the plots that have characters. They don’t have to be fully fleshed out yet. They don’t have to be super interesting or deep yet. But if you don’t have even an idea of your cast, you’ve got no story. Story comes from characters, no matter how interesting their setting or situation is. Every plot-directing decision is made by characters. If you don’t have any characters for one of your plots, then you don’t have a plot at all. So put it away for later.

4. Surprises

Don’t get me wrong – you can totally write a love-triangle vampire story with a happy ending and still make it quality. Writing is not a battle of the most unique storyline. You don’t get points for being different (clearly; look at Treasure Planet’s box office earning. I’m still bitter about that.) but that’s not what I’m talking about here. Surprises = unexpected writing decisions. This includes non-stereotypical characters, divergent story arcs, complicated plots and complicated resolutions, and basically anything that isn’t boy-meets-girl or boy-saves-world. Find the stories that will keep readers guessing, and focus on those. Predictable writing is worse than erroneous writing.

5. Iconic Hook

At the end of the day, our favorite stories are drawn back to one iconic idea, big or small – the White Whale, the Great Gatsby, the One Ring, the Scarlet Letter, the Hunger Games – basically, the Something that sticks with you after you’ve read it. The character, object, place, or event that exists as its own idea outside of the plot. Find the story that has the most memorable idea, the most presence, the most authority. That undefinable quality – that one focal point that ties everything together. If nothing sticks out of your story, the reader doesn’t know where to look. They don’t know where everything’s headed. Even in mystery/thriller novels, where the reader is given very little information, they get a hook – someone died, someone went missing, something was stolen, something’s out there, someplace is haunted, and so forth. So find your strongest hook, put it on your fishing reel, and start fishing… for subplots and characters and stuff.

The Best Bachelor in Paradise Recap You’ll Ever Read: Week 2

Last night in Paradise we finally said goodbye and fuck you to Chad, got to see round 2 of Nick Viall vs. Josh Murray drama, and my ED Evan gaydar scale practically exploded after his professions of “love” for Carly. This show is so unscriptedly (not a word? Idc) amazing that ‘paradise’ actually refers to how I feel sitting on my couch watching these losers talk mad shit about each other. So WTF went down last night?

The Chad Breakdown Continues

Chad is definitely still wasted from last night, and Chris Harrison is def just pissed he has to interrupt his robe-lounging to deal with this. “It’s worth it for the **ratings**” – Probably a post-it on Chris Harrison’s mini bar.

Chris Harrison:Where are you going??? Chad: I dont know, Tijuana or something.

Then Leah comes and I’m pretty sure all of America/Bachelor Nation is like, Leah who?

….mmm nope.

Of COURSE she comes on the show and is looking for Chad. Could it BE any more staged???

Okay just had a flashback to Leah throwing Lauren B under the bus. Classy chick! However she does look like Mena Suvari in American Beauty when she cries.

Leah gives up on the Chad situation and moves onto her next target, slick Nick.

Leah:– that’s what she said.

Leah:I’m very confident when I say I think I have a lot of qualities that you’re looking for Nick:I really appreciate what you’re saying. I actually think I’m leaning towards Amanda k thx bai.

Nick decides he’s just not that into Leah (probably either her lip injections or her fragrance of desperation, tbd) and moves onto Amanda, mother of 2.

Nick: I love fires and sitting near them Amanda: I love lamp

“No child left behind” – Not Amanda’s parenting philosophy.

Carly and Evan

Evan gets a date card and asks Carly and I literally don’t think I’ve ever seen someone want to cry more after getting a date.

– Evan sounds like the 40 year old virgin describing boobs like bags of sand.

Lace was sadly very uninteresting last night except her eyelash extensions, which are malfunctioning.

Emily’s idea of sexy small talk is unreal:

Jared is obviously conflicted about hooking up with Emily, like he’s not into her clearly but he doesn’t want to get kicked off. It’s muy interesante how whenever the guys have the roses the girls whore themselves out, and when the girls have the roses the guys pretend to have feelings. Feminist AF.

Week Two Night Two

Second week of paradise, second night of the week that I have to watch the same show for reasons unknown.

This episode starts with Josh and Amanda incessantly making out in front of everyone, while making meerkat noises.

Nick is obviously displeased so he continues to workout on the beach while taking breaks to shed a tear.

Daniel is unhappy because theres a new guy in Paradise who is about to take his love interest awayChristian. I literally do not remember him but apparently Sarah is super into the guy. All we know is that hes really fucking smiley… like hes about to pull out Jamaican steel drums and serenade everyone on the beach.

Daniel yeah or just Canadian.

Meanwhile ED Evan cant shut the fuck up about his date with Carly. Vinny: Wow kissed for a minute and 46 seconds. Evan: 41 seconds! It was like butterfly explosions.

Carly has the talk with Evan where she breaks up with him even though all they did was go on one awful date together. If Carly were a guy she would like never talk to him, ignore him, and then hook up with someone else in front of him.

Now that Evan is my ex-boyfriend Carly.

Enter new guy Brendan. Even Chris Harrison doesnt know who Brendan is (even though Chris Harrison definitely knows who he is and that scene was literally more scripted than a fight on ). Carly falls in love at first sight but doesnt realize that Brendan is dumber than anyone who has ever been on this television show. Brendan picks Haley (or Emily?) on his date.

This time Im doing a bad job in paradise. Like Last time I did a really bad job in paradise but this time Im doing like a worse job. Carly

Before her sisters date Emily drinks a beer and gets wasted which was THE BEST part of this entire episode.

My best friend is going on a date and like now that shes engaged Im so happy. I didnt mean to get like this!! Someone please give her more alcohol.

Brendan and Haleys date was the most absurd thing Ive ever seen. I want to find a woman who wants to give 110% HE IS Brendan Frasier in .

Why would Brendan even notice that the twins switched on him? I could barely tell the difference? But also like, he is giving this like loving we have a connection speech that I promise he would have given to any girl he would have picked. (But apparently not Carly).

Back at the house, because Daniel was supes jealous of Sarah and Christians new connection he makes a little mini date on a daybed for them.

Daniel: I’m an eagle and this eagle knows what he wants.

Sarah: I Just want to be appreciated for who I am and respect who I am. Daniel: Samesies. I hate it when people don’t respect me. Flashback to Daniel one episode ago: I was looking for some good looking girls so far I’m not impressed. Nothing I’d touch, maybe the one blonde girl if I had a couple of drinks in me. So far these are poodles and yorkies and washed up street dogs. I’d have to be white girl wasted to fuck them.

Sarah: DAMN DANIEL!

Sarah refers to Daniel as the goofy one who is weird and kinda dumb but makes her laugh. Can we all agree that Daniel IS Canadian Joey Tribbiani?

PS Why are all the couples, the self proclaimed sexy six, all making out together in one bed and not like, alone? What is this, the junior prom limo!?

Then the best thing to ever happen on this show happens. Evan self implodes.

The producers first convince him not to leave. Then they somehow manipulate him into thinking that the girl he has the best chance with is Amanda, yes, the one Josh is about to engulf.

Either I was like really high or this was SOOOO funny but watching Evan write a sad handwritten note to himself was probably the best television of life.

Then he pumps himself up by calling himself by his full name. YOURE FRICKIN EVAN BASS .. however I am pretty sure he meant it in the sense that like, he is like related to Chuck Bass and thats what makes him cool. Yes I fully believe Evan watches .

Then the producers convince him to walk up to Amanda and Josh while theyre hooking up to ask Amanda out. Whether this was scripted or not, this was good. The other reason for him doing this was his chance to get closer to Josh. Think about it, Chad was pretty hot and Evan loved stirring the pot with him on . Now he wants to get steamy with Josh. I can see that exciting little Evan. Aka Ogie from the movie (obscure but like, so accurate).

Don’t do it Evan, this will end poorly!! – all of America.

The Chad Breakdown Continues

Then Leah comes and I’m pretty sure all of America/Bachelor Nation is like, Leah who?

Of COURSE she comes on the show and is looking for Chad. Could it BE any more staged???
